Greek Express is a great spot for some gyros in a rush. Quality doesn't suffer. Location is small but cozy. Laid back employees, nice and happy to help. Gyros were delicious, they have a lot of options and twists to traditional Greek foods. But what makes this spot great is the baklava. I love baklava, that is my obsession, every time I check out a new Mediterranean place, I was try out their baklava. I've been to numerous places but can honestly say they have the best baklava in the city. Ask for the traditional walnut baklava, it comes drizzled in honey and is just perfect with each fluffy layer. If you want to switch it up, they always offer cinnamon baklava, chocolate chip, and pecan. I also tried the chocolate chip, which was pretty good but nothing compares to the traditional walnut baklava. You won't be disappointed.

My lunch consisted of the #3, the Mini Chicken Gyro w/ Fries. It was superb; the chicken was delicious! Their fries needed no ketchup since they were seasoned well. I'm happy I chose to go here for lunch today.

I love falafel and this place does not disappoint. The falafel pita is DELICIOUS and stuffed with fresh, crisp veggies. You'll pay extra for feta and banana peppers, but you can't go without them! The gyro is tasty and also massive. The pita themselves are just right and served warm. Hummus was not our favorite. They are always SUPER fast, which is appreciated, and friendly.

hard to find anything wrong here... yummy gyros served off a shawarma. plenty of sauces at the side station to customize your sandwich. super cheap, fast, and friendly. they offer gyros in 3, 6, and 9 oz sizes-- the medium is more than enough to pick some off with a fork and wrap the rest and devour. I didn't have, but word is the deserts are super yum as well what a great little find in an unassuming previous KFC building. I've stopped by many times and never been let down.

Food is good. They have a menu with pictures which makes ordering for me easier. Food is prepared quickly. They have a rewards app that is tricky to use but they will help you but you have to ask. Haven't been there enough times to accumulate enough points to try the rewards program. I will keep at it though.

If you're looking for fast Greek food for great prices, this is the place to go. It is a great place for fast take out. They have a drive through and a decent menu that makes getting your Greek food convenient. My favorite thing to order is their jumbo gyro combo. Usually, the combo ranges from $6-8 depending on what you order. The gyro is so big you have to eat it with a fork and knife!!! It comes with a bed of fries and a soda of your choice. Food tastes great but is slightly on the greasy side.

Sometimes this place is a 3-star for me, and sometimes it's a 4-star. With the inconsistency, and with my visit yesterday, I'd give it a 3.5 star if I could. For some reason or another, I can't get enough gyros in me lately, and having a Greek place near me with a drive-thru is quite convenient. I usually like their tzatziki, but yesterday it just tasted pretty bland, and the pita itself had a weird flavor to it that I couldn't quite describe. It didn't seem fresh, and they usually are. The fries here are awesome, and make sure you get them with cajun seasoning (I think they come with it, but ask for it just in case). The Greek salads they offer are pretty average, nothing special there. The indoor dining is pretty cozy, and the food comes out very quick, so it's a really nice spot to grab a quick lunch or dinner that's not a burger. The guys that run this place also own No. 1 Gyro Shoppe and Acropolis on North High St. I've never been to the Gyro Shoppe, but Acropolis is one of my all time favorites, so hopefully they can get this spot on par with that one.

Please and THANK YOUUUUUU, welcome to the neighborhood. Could this have not been more needed?! And it isn't even something I knew I wanted. We ventured here during our hour lunch - and it was every ounce of yummy as I expected. I had checked out the menu prior to going just so I would be "ready." You know that girl who stares at the menu, when it essentially only offer the same 5 items? Yep - That. Girl. But damnit, I was prepared this time! The parking lot? A freaking disaster. There were no spots, so I assumed it was full inside. Nope, nada. A couple tables had people, but not enough to fill their whole parking lot (moderately sized by GV standards). My guess is it was mostly employees? I don't mean to be a drag... but spots are hard to come by in GV and if you're going to parked at your work all day, maybe just park on the street down near the alley? We had to and the extra 60sec walk was NOT that bad. Seeing a full lot is sometimes a deterrent for customers. But not us.... we were on a gyro mission! I had the mini and spinach pie - whew, I so full. The mini gyro is plenty enough by my standards. The boy had the two mini's and a side of fries. The fries weren't thaaattt bad and my spinach pie was okay, just very crusty - almost impossible to eat with a fork. Within the 30 minutes we were there, 3 people made mention that on the combo menu is says "Jumbo" but it's really a "Supreme" gyro. The lady just said it was a mistake, and it's a supreme... but if 3 people made mention, why not just fix the combo menu w/ the correct name? However, I welcome this gyro shop with open arms and will be visiting often for lunch dates! Gyro's were SO DELICIOUS!

Was really excited to try this place and was mostly disappointed. Was it bad? No. Just simple. And bland. The chicken gyro had noooooo flavor. It was the plainest chicken I've ever ordered. Veggies and pita are OK. Side salad was fine - made from a giant bag of ice berg and a few veggies. Skip.

I used to frequent the location in Powell for lunch, and was sad when I changed jobs because I wouldn't be able to go anymore. Now I'm working close to this location, and am excited to report that it's just as good as the one in Powell! They have several combinations to choose from so it's easy to get exactly what you're looking for at a very reasonable price. My favorite is the #5: mini gyro with spanakopita (the best I've ever had!) and drink.

    (5)
  • Vasu V.

These guys have the best fries and amazing gyros. The #9 had become a standard "go to" for my family. Around $8 gets you a large gyro (it's big), fries that are hot, crisp on the outside and firm on the inside - and a drink. Love the falafel appetizer, more for the dip that comes with it. It's a great addition to Grandview!

This place is a solid 4, what is for all intents and purposes a fast-food restaurant, but with good, pretty healthy food. The inside is clean, service is friendly, food is quick to be served. There isn't a single thing on the menu that i have disliked thus far. My favorites being the chicken gyro and the fries. The baklava is also pretty good. Again, nothing out of the ordinary. the Food isn't mind-blowingly good, but if I were short on time or too tired to cook, this would be at the top of my list for a quick fix and good meal.

Good, middle of the road place. Fast and reasonably priced. Fries are great (but not quite as good as the awesome fries from Loops down the road) Gyro veggies were awesome and fresh; the red onions were a nice touch, but gyro meat was a little dry. I've been doing a weekly gyro tour of Columbus. This week is Greek Express on 5th. So far, Loops has the best fries, Hellas has the best gyros, and Greek Express has the edge for convenience and price.

  • Kristen K.

I love this place! Their food tastes great and is fresh. I always get the veggie pita and loved it every time. I have tried other greek places in Columbus and other cities but this one is definitely my favorite. The food is really cheap too especially for how good it is.

Guys, it's no secret that I love Greek food but Greek fast food? Hmmm... When I saw them starting the remodel on this old KFC building, I was skeptical. Really skeptical. But when we tried them out 9/22/13, while they were still so new I had to create the business listing - just opened Wednesday, I was impressed. We showed up incredibly close to closing time but the staff was still very friendly. The food was prepared quickly and served to us at our table. John got the combo with a mini gyro and fries and I got the salad and mini gyro combo. They call them "mini" but they really aren't. Those pitas were stuffed full. While they were heavy on the dressing - which was okay but not preferred - they were also heavy on the meat and veggies so I thought it balanced out. His fries were crisp and hot and seasoned nicely. My salad was larger than anticipated and loaded up with all the best "Greek salad" fixings. We both left feeling rather full. While I see other reviewers have rated it lower because it isn't as great as the Greek restaurants they usually frequent, I fell that this place should really rate higher considering its actual category. Would you compare a Wendy's to a Red Robin? A Taco Bell to a sit-down Mexican restaurant? No, you really wouldn't. You expect the fast food place to be less delicious because you are getting your food quick and cheap. So, let's compare it to other establishments like it - fast food places. In terms of other fast food restaurants I've been to, this place is freaking fantastic. Staff is so much friendlier, food is so much better, design of the interior and the patio out front is so much nicer... no other fast food places compare.

I think they are owned by the same people that own Acropolis in Clintonville, which is a good thing since I am a big fan of Acropolis, but this locations is much closer. Really good gyros.good greek salad and chicken gyros as well. Love this place

Really nice Greek fast food restaurant. This is one of our new faves as it is good with very good prices. The place looks nicer than the other fast food greek places so that is a plus for it. My wife likes the fires here and if it was in a better location than I may stop in here more often. If they placed one for these in hilliard then this place would be a monthly stop for me. I know of two other good Greek places in Grandview that I would compare equally to this place.

Came for lunch, stood on line for a couple minutes, wasn't acknowledge by anyone but they all looked at me so i know they knew i was there. They were too busy helping the customers at the drive thru. I even jokingly said i must be invisible to get their attention but to no avail. So i walked out and went someplace else and got prompt and friendly service.

YUM!!! This place is located very near to my work and I frequently drive through for lunch. The chicken gyro salad with their house made vinaigrette dressing is my favorite! It's reasonably priced for the size of the salad and it's super fresh and really delicious. I also enjoy their Gyro Salad and their hummus is fantastic! For being essentially a fast food restaurant they have some of my favorite Greek food in Columbus. It's family owned and the staff is very nice. Check this place out it's an excellent quick bite! P.S. My love affair started with the location on Powell Rd. I used to drive through nearly everyday for my chicken salad and when I changed jobs I was really sad. Then I discovered that this location is right near my new job and all was right in the world again! Don't forget to take advantage of that orange frequent buyer card thing. With as often as I eat here it's been a great savings for me.

Very sub-par. The hummus was the worst I have ever had and the chicken gyro was just average.

Heck ya gyros!!!! Tried out Greek Express for lunch today. It was not crowded when I arrived so I soaked up the menu. It was quite diverse with more offerings than I expected. I kept it simple and went with the super gyro and fries with a drink. I like how they have 3 different gyro sizes. My food too longer than expected to arrive, but when it did it was fresh and hot. The fries were a notch above most, the gyro was very tastey. I was very pleased and very full once I finished my food. Will definitely be coming back

Owners also own Acropolis (which has a drive-thru) and the other Greek Express in town. They did a nice job converting the former KFC location into something new. There are about 10 parking spaces so at peak hours I expect they'll get a lot of drive-thru business. The 6oz gyro and fries were enough for one person. Next time I'll go with the 3oz version. Fries were eaten immediately. Hot temperature with good spices. Ate the gyro about an hour after I ordered and was surprised it was still warm.

Greek Express is a great addition to the Grandview area. For around $7, I can get a huge chicken gyro, fries and a drink. And to make it even better, I don't have to leave my car. Thanks to the drive-thru, I can be lazy and still get delicious Greek food. I've been here around lunch and dinner time. The parking is terrible around peak lunch hours. I was lucky enough to be pulling in when someone was leaving and got the only open spot in the parking lot. The inside is really clean, but the tables were extremely limited during lunch time. The food here has been consistently great. My fries are always hot, and they are not skimpy on the chicken/toppings in the gyro. I am glad to see Greek Express in the neighborhood!

  • Doug O.

Not terrible, but I've had better and so have you. On the positive, they've done a really nice job with the space, making an old KFC attractive and inviting inside. You don't see many fast food joints with a fireplace. And they have Diet Dr. Pepper, which I don't find at enough fast food places. On the negative, the food didn't really blow me away. First, the menu needs a little cleaning up, as it doesn't seem like they know what they want to be. They're a Greek place, but they also have hot dogs and fries. Then they have gyros, large gyros, and gyro sandwiches, which turned out to be...gyros. I got the Cajun chicken gyro (I was really going for authentic Greek flavors, right?). It was okay. Nothing special. It had so much sauce on it that you could barely taste the Cajun seasoning, but not terrible. Just meh. My wife and I split the red pepper hummus. It was some of the worst hummus I've ever had (which doesn't mean it was awful or anything, but I generally love all hummus and I found this to be mediocre at best). Food this mediocre shouldn't cost $21 for 2 people. I know this is fast food and we typically have lower expectations for fast food versions of things, but I love fast food variations of most things (I'll go to a Panda Express or a Taco Bell without complaint) and I do not love Greek Express. If you want Greek food and you insist on using a drive through, I guess it's good to have. But if you want a gyro and you want it fast, you could go 2 minutes over to Loops and get better. And you could go 5 minutes over to Aladdin's, have it take only about 5 minutes longer at lunch time, and only spend a buck or 2 more for FAR superior food.

Hey, this place did the trick! I don't know the last time I've been through a drive-thru so this was a refreshing return. I'd say the quality of the food is similar/the same as any run-of-the-mill local gyro shoppe or cart, but with the convenience of never having to leave your car. The prices were very reasonable for a falafel gyro and walnut baklava. Unfortunately, I found the baklava to be wayyy too "wet." It was soggy and soaked in honey - I prefer a lighter, dryer dessert myself. The gyro was tasty, really big, and had cucumber. Bonus! If I didn't live across from another great Greek place, I'd be back more often when I need a decent meal in a pinch.

    (4)
  • Don J.

BOOM: 5/5! Not gonna lie, most gyros taste pretty similar to me. Once they reach a certain quality there are marginal returns in taste. I'm giving Greek Express 5/5 stars because they are a well-oiled gyro making machine. Equipped with a Drive-Thru, a classy Fireplace inside if you want to sit down, DELICIOUS gyros, and some of the best seasoned French Fries I've ever had--always crispy and warm. Totally righteous. Costs about 6-8 bucks by the way. And all the workers are Super Friendly and helpful. I seriously love this place. I eat it way too much. Sometimes if I'm driving up Fifth Ave with no plans of going there, I am pulled in by its tractor-beam and hit the drive-thru. And I never regret it. Except that sometimes I pass out from a food coma within 30 minutes of eating it. Peace.

This is the fourth place I've been on my search for a spot on gyro in Columbus. Still going to be searching. Perhaps I'm picky though. :) There was a substantial Greek population where we just relocated from in Greensboro, NC so needless to say I've been spoiled. I checked out the menu and Yelp reviews before stopping on my way home from work. Looked solid for a straight forward gyro. I noticed this 'house sauce' listed as coming on the gyros. Of course I asked about it, it sounds like a house/ranch dressing. Who does that? Maybe it's a Midwest thing? I asked them to hold that but definitely put the tzatziki on it. Since it's meant to be on Greek gyros for sure. The gyro itself large, but I'd rather something be put together nicely rather than haphazardly. Everything was just tossed on there, it wasn't until the last third of the gyro that I encountered onion or a tomato. Half way in the tzatziki started. Lunch rush, totally not an excuse as I was the only customer inside or out. Also on a side note I nearly tossed their lemons out. Sitting on top of the tea in a disposable cup. Looked like trash to me. Nope, lemons.

I found this place on my GPS, it was supposed to be a KFC (it once was). Greek is always better... The building has been completely refurbished. The dining area is really nice. I had a gyro & a spanikopita. You can't screw up a gyro. It was like all the 300 ones I've had before. The Spinach Pie, meh. It was alright. It may have been a food service product from Kronos. It WAS microwaved. It gets a C+. One business killer, they serve Pepsi. That sometimes is a kiss of death for a restaurant. This is fast food. Nothing unique. Okay for lunch.

This was an old KFC, completely gutted and beautifully redone inside and out. Large flat screen TVs throughout, and a modern and clean decor. Drinks are self serve, and the menu is typical for a Greek fast food joint. It also has a drive thru. All the workers had thick accents...I believe they could have been actual Greeks and even family members. I had the large gyro combo, which includes fries and a drink. The fries were outstanding...hot on the inside, and very crisp on the out. They also "Greek-old-school" season on them...a healthy dose of Paprika based seasoning...very good! Gyro was good...seared pita bread served with lots of meat, and fresh veggies, including red onions. The Tzatziki sauce could have used a kick...more garlic would have helped, but still good. Drinks are offered in one size only...a standard 16oz Styrofoam cup. I would have liked to see a larger option, because after ice your looking at only 6-8 oz of drink. Overall, I'm a fan, and would not hesitate to visit again.

Living nearby, I watched the renovation and was looking forward to a new addition to the Grandview area. I ordered a teriyaki chicken gyro for my husband and I had the falafel pita. My husband said the teriyaki chicken was just alright and my falafel pita had way too much dressing. I've also never seen flat falafales before. Interesting. Overall it was just ok... the inside was nice and the customer service was great, but the food was more aligned with a fast food experience. So, give it a shot if you're looking for a different type of fast food.

For fast food this place is very good! I've only gone through the drive-thru so I can't speak about the inside, but the drive-thru has always been a fine experience. The people working were always pretty friendly and didn't have that bored monotone tone of most people working fast food. I've had several different things here and found them all to be pretty good. For the price and considering it came at fast food speed I was very satisfied. It's definitely better than going to any fast food chain which I try to avoid at all costs. I haven't had too many gyros so I can't tell you how good it was compared to others but for me it was very good. The hot dogs, french fries, and cheesesteaks were also very good IMO. My favorite thing is probably the desserts. The idea of being able to get chocolate cake, tiramisu or baklava through a drive-thru is awesome!!! I've had the chocolate cake and it was great and inexpensive! I haven't tried the tiramisu yet but probably will soon. It is a bit more $$ than I think it should be at a fast food place.

Regular gyro - was very tasty and a good portion side. Top with very fresh lettuce, tomato and onion. My only complaint is there was not enough tzatziki sauce on it, otherwise great! Spicy feta dip (special, not on menu) was too spicy (and I like spicy). Pita served with dip could of been toasted more and cut into pieces. Quick and friendly service!

    (3)
  • Red D.

First time here. Not bad. Definitely fast foodish. Take the entree names literally. The lamb and rice is just that; a pile of lamb on a pile of rice, nothing else. The regular gyro was pretty big, and good, for the price but it got way too salty towards the end. I also got rid of the pita because the texture was kinda off. The clerk was friendly, the food came out lightning fast and the place was clean. A combo meal, a lamb and rice entree and a regular gyro=$22.69. I'll go back....if the line at chipotle is too long.

    (3)
  • A M.

I was reluctantly persuaded by co-workers to try a gyro for the first time. Something about eating lamb just didn't sound appetizing to me. I was so glad I did! It was so delicious! While the lamb was a bit salty (maybe that's just how lamb is...I don't know) the gyro was yummy! We have been back multiple times!

I really enjoyed my mini gyro and spanakopita combo. The prices were good and the restaurant is very attractive and clean. Added bonus--the owner and staff are extremely nice and made me feel like a valued customer. Very happy to have this new addition to the neighborhood.

Nothing special. We had the regular gyro. You can get a much better gyro and fries at Loops in Grandview.
