Our service was good, not as charming as the old ladies at Teejay's around the corner on Hamilton, but good none-the-less. The food was good (great actually) and came out fast. The menu at BE restaurants has been changing recently, and seems to be focusing on more quality ingredients and recipes, getting away from the "diner style" food that teejays and dennys focus on. One star off for them working in advertising and trying to sell us bakery to go. I know you have new things you want us to know about, but the signs take care of that. I don't need sales pitches with my breakfast.

I have been to this location twice now. The first time we experienced poor service, a dirty restaurant, and our food came out piece by piece over a course of 10 minutes. Yesterday I returned for carry out. My sausage biscuit breakfast was made using an uncooked English muffin. We arrived 20 minutes after ordering (they told us it'd be ready in 15) and still waited 10 minutes before receiving our meal. As an ex-employee of Bob Evans and customer of many locations across the country, this has been the worst one I've seen. I do not recommend eating here. There are a number of better breakfast options in the area such as Scottys just west on broad st..

Well today we tired the bob over here in whitehall again. And we have decide to go to a different one next time. The food was not so good. 1st of all we had to send the bacon back because it was raw, 2nd my husband order over easy eggs and he found a hair in it so we sent that back and we told the girl make sure it's over easy egg and it came back with the whites runny so he couldn't eat that so total bust on the whitehall location. This is not the 1st time we have had crappy service, since it's so close to our home we want to give them our business, but for now on we will go somewhere else.

I went here recently with some co-workers for breakfast and the service was pretty bad. The waitress when delivering our food had the people closest to her take the plates and pass them down! It would not have been an issue to bring them over but for some reason she didn't want to do it. Refills for drinks and requests for side items were not responded to promptly and the restaurant wasn't very crowded. As for the food, it was meh. I had the hash browns but they weren't golden brown like any decent diner could make them. They were more a greyish brown...they weren't off just not cooked very well. Of the two biscuits I received, one was fresh and the other one stale. Maybe they were supposed to balance each other out? I've eaten at my fair share of greasy spoon diners and most were of higher quality. Please do better Bob Evans.

Apparently the equation is to take one not so great area of town, add a Bob Evans and you somehow get one of the friendliest restaurants I've ever been to. No joke. CK and I have been hitting up the nearby Bob Evans' after our Saturday workouts to eat whilst soaking up the free wifi for a quick business meeting. Today, my computer battery was dead. No problem for the hostess. She took us straight to a table complete with an outlet. And continued to check that everything was working ok with our set up. The waitress helped us find some healthy post workout meals (which I promptly ignored and ordered yummy sweet potato fries) and never let my coffee cup reach bottom whilst CK and I spent the next 2 hours solving the world's problems. OK, not really but the table of older gentlemen behind us really could have been doing that. Not only was their conversation fascinating, but every waitress and every other customer seemed to know them. Somehow I had been transported from a cookie cutter Bob Evans to a small town diner where every one knows everyone else and the waitress calls you honey. We don't know if we'll be making it back next week but that's ok because before we left we'd exchanged contact info with the staff just like they were long lost friends.

I eat breakfast here frequently. The food seems to be the same (good) as I get at the other locations, but the service at this location, although generally friendly, is consistently slower than the other locations around town. There is a Bob Evans jingle that ends with "down on the farm". My kids long ago changed it to "Bob Evans..... slow on the farm". At this location, I will now only sit at the counter, as that seems to speed things up a bit. Although the service is friendly, they often seem understaffed, especially early in the morning. That said, they seem to do a big business, especially a little later in the morning.

Slow service. Filthy place. Server was telling me side dishes and in the middle of it stopped to rant to a hostess not to "sit him" Instead of bussing the tables, the hostess continued to put dirty dishes at the table opposite me so I looked at this throughout lunch Not recommended.

We have breakfast at Bob Evans once or twice a month on the weekends with some friends. We normally go to the one in Gahanna on Hamilton Road, but today they decided to come out our way, so we decided to go to the Bob Evans in Whitehall on Broad Street. We have four adults and two toddlers between us, so we were seated and right away told the waiter that we would like to order the kids' food first so they would be eating while our food came and no one would get cranky having to sit and wait. But between us telling the waiter this and actually ordering the kids' food, he proceeded to give us his entire life story. Then once we finally got the kids' orders in, he left and came back with their food and asked our orders. They were simple orders for the rest of us, and then he left. Thirty minutes later our food finally arrived, without having someone check on us or tell us it was coming in the meantime. The food was all cold, and one of our friends found a long white hair in her food. When we told the waiter that the food was cold, he said "that doesn't make any sense. It took twenty minutes to get the food and now it's cold?" Actually...that makes perfect sense. The longer it takes to get the food, the colder it will be. And it wasn't twenty minutes, it was half an hour. At this point the kids were well past done eating while we were just getting our food, so they were getting cranky and antsy before we had even really started eating. We went and flagged down the assistant manager who commented that it was unacceptable that our food was cold and that it was "nasty" that my friend found a hair in her food, which she showed him. He was writing this all down on a notepad and he said that he would go adjust our bills and come right back. Twenty minutes later no one had come back, so we got up and went to the register. At that point the assistant manager had not done a thing. He didn't even know whose food was on which bill. So what was he doing during the twenty minutes we were sitting there waiting? Nothing to do with us. We could have gotten up and walked out of the restaurant and no one would have noticed. Overall, the food was bad, the service was awful, and we will not be going back to that Bob Evans ever again.

Worst meal service I have ever had. The server first didn't know how much substituting salmon would be for chicken, guessed around 9 bucks on top of the 9 the meal was already. No salad cost 20 dollars at a bob Evans. The chipotle chicken sandwich came without sauce, cheese, bacon and onion as well as when it was remade it had almost no sauce. The blackened steak is supposed to be cooked to order and was not asked about. And the worst part about it was the manager was just as incompetent as the server and didn't understand the complaints. I confidently can say never give this establishment the pleasure to serve you. And the crayons suck...

I live in Atlanta now and cannot get to a Bob Evans so I was happy when I visited Columbus and went. The service was extremely slow and when the very young waitress brought our order I said, "I specifically ordered my salad without croutons," she replied "I didn't make the salad." WTH??!! I was dumbfounded at her response and her lack of customer service skills. The place was not crowded but many people were seemingly waiting for their order like I was. This is not the first time I have had to wait a long time at this location but I figured that I would take my chances since I was now visiting from out of state. What a disappointment to come into town and discover that the service has not improved but regressed. Also, my guest and I were bothered by a couple of fruit flies that seemed to follow the food to the table. Gross! I love Bob Evans but I won't be returning to this location. Too slow and unclean.
