Very nice sit down Asian restaurant. The decor is upscale and relaxing, makes you feel like you are closer to Asia than Gahanna. The food is of great quality, always fresh and of plentiful portions. Not the greasy fast food type of Asian cuisine this feels and tastes much healthier and the flavors of the food really come through. Menu offers a nice blend of different Asian dishes from different cultures (Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Korean) all done very well. My last visit I had the Beef and Broccoli and it was superb, beef was very tender and flavorful, vegetables very fresh and steame perfectly with just the perfect balance of crispness to them. The sauce was some of the best I have ever had with a Beef and Broccoli dish, some brown sauces at other places can be too sweet or very strong in over taking the dish, this was just delicious and added flavor while allowing the flavors of the rest of the dish come through.

I came here with the family for dinner tonight. They were so nice for a family full of little kids running around the restaurant on a busy night. My family started off with the edamame which was good. Then each of us got different dishes like my mom got the tofu delight with shrimp. My sister got the bimbimbap and soup. My dad got the hot and sour soup with the salmon as his entree dish. My sister-in-law got the asparagus with shrimp and light sauce. I got the pad thai and the kids all got the fried rice. The dishes were okay, my dad must've been hungry because he finished both dishes quickly. What I like most about this restaurant is they have these chop stick holders now that make it easier to use chop sticks for those who aren't great with chop sticks. The kids loved using them for their fried rice it made it so easy for them to eat it that way. We had great customer service here tonight. The waiter was very attentive and listened to our every need and put up with our monkeys, opps I mean kids. He even made the kids night by giving them extra fortune cookies. For the price of the food I just don't think it's worth it. I'm just saying it because I've had better quality asian food elsewhere for less. Although I do give them props for great customer service tonight. I just won't be eating here often due to the price.
Awesome. Decor was way more than we expected--I'm talking like fine dining type decor. Loved it. Service was stellar. Food was great. Absolutely recommend to anyone looking for moderate prices, great food, and a terrific ambiance. Will be back when we are in the mood for anything Asian--as they have pages upon pages of selection. Oh. Crab rangoons were phenomenal too!

Updating my original review based on a recent experience with the new menu. I'm pretty disappointed so just two stars. The sushi was middling...that didn't change. However, for some reason, they have begun using a very awful new source for bamboo in their dishes. This new bamboo is left in huge chunks and has an awful mushy texture. I don't know why they switched, but it really is awful. The dish I ordered was the Thai curry chicken (red curry). The other disappointment with my dish was the lack of sauce on the plate. I don't need the dish to be swimming I sauce, but it is supposed to be a curry. Asian gourmet, please do better!

My new favorite sushi place!! Love: - appetizers were delicious - wine that I ordered was phenomenal - SUSHI=YUM - Manager was so friendly as well as the staff - Interior is gorgeous. Wouldn't think that from the strip mall it sits in Don't love: - pretty pricey if you want variety of sushi, drinks and maybe an app Can't wait to go back! Wish it wasn't so far from me in Grandview.

I have been to Asian Gourmet several times for lunch over the last several months. They have a nice range of Asian dishes. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, very contemporary in design. The staff, each time I have been there, is great. Tell them what you like, and they will suggest a winning meal every time that is right on. Prices are higher than what you would pay for your run of the mill Asian restaurant, but you get what you pay for. I'd rate their Sushi above average, but not phenomenal. They have a wide variety of choices, my personal favorite being the Buckeye roll. Another dish I would recommend is the Thai Basil Chicken.

Really good food. Service was fast and friendly. We had several people in our group and the entire order was done correctly and brought out at the same time.

Nice contemporary decor. The sushi has never disappointed me. Their eclectic Asian menu, however, has on several occasions left me unimpressed. There are some off flavors in many of the dishes. Service is very good. I still go there but only for the sushi.

Asian Gourmet is really pretty good. We took my niece here for her birthday because it's close to her house, but we were pleasantly surprised. The menu is huge, which I'm not generally a fan of. I prefer restaurants that focus on doing a few things really well, but Asian Gourmet seemed to pull it off. We had the firecracker shrimp and some spring rolls as an appetizer. Both were good, the sauce the shrimp came with was especially good. For the sushi we had a wide variety of rolls and nigiri. Everything was good, but nothing really stood out. If I lived near it, I could definitely see going here fairly regularly. Living closer to Akai Hana than here, though, I doubt I'll be back unless we're taking my niece out again.

This is the absolute best sushi place in the Columbus area by far. The service is amazing, the chefs are funny and personable, and they make GREAT sushi. Try the nutty almond roll and buckeye roll - best sushi I've ever had. The bathrooms are fancy, clean, and even have those sweet dyson hand dryers! I don't know why I ever go anywhere else honestly.

This is my FAVORITE sushi bar near Columbus. The food and service our both amazing. I have yet to be disappointed by a visit and I have been there over ten time this past year. Definitely worth a visit! Even when the staff is busy the food comes out quick. The side salad is a perfect appetizer and the dressing is to die for. The other appetizers are also delicious. I haven't found a roll that I or my friends have not enjoyed. The Buckeye is by far my favorite, followed by the Rainbow Roll. They also have a few vegetarian sushi options for those who don't like or eat fish! Just ask :) They have a great happy hour / daily special as well.

It was Monday evening but crowded, probably under staff, too. Our waitress had to cover 7 tables. It took 40 minutes to get our food. Second draw back is the miso soup. It is practically miso paste with hot water. Disappointed. We got jaempon and bugolgi. The korean spicy seafood soup noodle is one of my top three in Columbus. The soup has the taste of he ocean and the noodles is done just right with a little bite to it. It is just spicy enough for my taste. Bugolgi is just a little better than average. I will go back for the jaempon again and again.

The best sushi in Columbus. Hands down. I will never go to another sushi place, as long as I can go to this one. I've never tried any of their appetizers or dishes, as the sushi is delectable. You'll love this place, trust me.

Amazing service and food. I called in an order at 10:25 thinking that they closed at 11 when in reality they closed at 10:30. The man told me that if the kitchen was still able to they could make my order. They were able to and my order was ready by 10:35. They were really nice about it and didn't seem to mind about having to stay a little later.

Came here last night for dinner with friends. The wait staff was attentive, the place was clean and the food was good. The decor was modern and chic even though this place is tucked into a strip mall, next to a Kroger. Weird, but ok. I had the pan fried noodles with beef and it definitely had a kick to it. Luckily they also served Kirin to help tame the fire in my mouth. I had the wonton soup as well and it was....wonton soup. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the best ever either. I would get it again though. My guests had the sushi and they said it was delicious so there's a bonus for that. I would go back and I would recommend it at as well.

First off best Sushi I have ever had!!! Meal came put quick but not overly fast, like on top of our appetizer. Our server was absoutely amazing, we've only been in Columbus about 2 years and find it very very difficult to find good service. The decor was beautiful and man was this place clean!!! Not 1 piece of our meal less than exceptional. Absolutely deserve every last of the 5 stars, we'll be back!!!

We were underwhelmed with our carry out from here- especially for the price! My husband had kung pao chicken and I had spicy tuna rolls. The dishes were pretty good but not great. I've heard great things about this place so I would try it again but definitely recommend Joy Food One down the street way more for chinese food at a much better price.

The sushi is decent, but overly priced. My girlfriend and I make regular visits here and for four rolls and an appetizer it's an easy $50 tab. Lately we have visited Benihana during their Happy Hour specials where most specialty rolls are priced at $4.25 while not sacrificing quality. Servers and atmosphere are usually good, but we've noticed we visit less often knowing other competitors are able to run much better promotions.

I used to come here all the time, I think it was 6 or 7 years ago, it's been so long. During those times, I would come here and be the only person eating in the place. A friend and I came here the other night and it was packed. We were still able to get a seat right away, but it was good knowing that this place is now on the map, social media can be a great thing. When you get here, it doesn't look like much, well you can't really tell much from the outside, but once you step inside, the place is beautiful. Great attentive service, good food. The menu here is awesome, because they have each Asian cuisine, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Mongolian, and Taiwanese. My only gripe, the music they had playing didn't go with the atmosphere. They were playing oldies.

The decor inside is impressive--copper overhangs (request one of these booths for date night *wink wink*), laser cut wood decor and white paper lighting gives the place a modern feel. Great, friendly service but the pop music overhead killed it for me. Regardless, let's talk food. Had sushi here last night and overall it was good--Asian Gourmet, Dragon, Volcano and Spicy Scallop. All rolls were BOGO 50% off. Perhaps a Monday night deal? I asked for a hot "house saki" which was $12. Little steep but was nice. There's a lot of sushi competition in the area--three sushi restaurants minutes from one another. With that said I think the only thing this place has going for it is the menu's variety, which includes Korean fare, and its size being great for groups. I included photos of their table signage with Happy Hour info.

This place has a really awesome decor. It's very modern and spacious, not at all what you would expect from a sushi place in a (admittedly) nice strip mall. And the sushi bar is a lot longer then most places I've been, which means more people can enjoy it--which is great. The food was mostly very yummy. I tried the tempura peppers and if you like stuffed jalapenos this is a MUST for your order. Admittedly the mango salsa is a bit hard to use with them, but if you put the pieces on top of the pepper then you should be good. And they are so very tasty! I also had some eel sushi and their Stoneridge roll. The eel was the only thing I wasn't a fan off, because it was too fatty. Even after peeling most of the fat off with my chopsticks, I wasn't impressed. Personally I just think that the eel there must be of a lower quality, since I've never seen as much fat on it as I did there. As for the Stoneridge (soft shell crab, shrimp, cucumber in soy paper), it was awesome. Personally I think their rolls are $2 to pricey across the board, but if you are willing to pay it then go for it. Though I was personally very turned off by the idea of a $15-$17 dollar roll. And I spent my time mostly trying to find a roll that I wanted where I felt that the cost wouldn't make me sick, so I actually didn't get either of the two rolls on the top of my list. All in all I would go back, especially for those tempura peppers. But I think that this place should have a happy hour so the cost of their rolls drops for us poor college kids.

Thinking this place put my sushi craving to rest I decided to finally try this place after living in the area for over 5 years. I ordered carry out, general tso chicken and sushi. The general tso was good! I believe though you could order this from your local Chinese fast food place & be just as good and save yourself a buck. There was no broccoli in it though which was disappointing but my fault as well since I didn't read the menu clearly. The sushi on the other hand was kinda gross. I've eaten sushi around the city & have had some great, mediocre, okay sushi. I would rate their sushi 2 stars. Overall, surrounding Chinese food places nearby compare and Mr. Sushi is a second down the street and they have awesome sushi!

Awful service. A once decent place that has clearly seen better times. We used to eat here often but will not be back. Went here for dinner before a movie. Kept asking the server repeatedly for my wife's entree. After asking 3 times over a 45 minute period and getting nothing we had to cancel her order and leave. Everyone else got dinner while my wife watched. My wife never got to eat. I complained to the manager at the counter but she did not seem to care at all. Her response was, 'sorry you did not get dinner but we took her entree off the bill.' Totally unacceptable. If you never brought someone's food you should not have the gall to suggest you are doing me a favor by not charging for it. This place was once good. It is not any longer.

For a strip mall asian place that serves 'thai', 'chinese', 'korean' and 'japanese', this was pleasantly surprising. The decor makes your forget you are in a suburb and the vibe is pretty upbeat. The sushi here was fresh and light. I've probably paid way more in downtown spots known for sushi but the quality here was better without a doubt. Would have given this place a 3.5 but the thai basil chicken my husband ordered fell flat, so did his hot and sour soup.

A few months ago, our party of 6 ended up at Asian Gourmet & Sushi Bar one Saturday evening after having an excessively long wait for a table at a nearby Mexican restaurant. What a find! First, let me say that I gauge all Asian restaurants by their ability to produce a top-notch Hot & Sour Soup. Verdict? Outstanding! This is some of the best I've ever had. High-end ingredients, perfect consistency, nice heat, and a balanced sour. I couldn't ask for a better Hot & Sour. We've had very good luck with all dishes, except one. The Mango Chicken tasted funky that first night but they promptly replaced with a different dish. Pad Thai, General Tso's Chicken, Seafood Curry, Hot Pepper Chicken have all been excellent choices. Their wait staff is excellent and more than worthy of a generous tip. We have since moved to Arizona but will be keeping Asian Gourmet on our list of must-visit places whenever we return.

Upon walking into this restaurant, we were greeted by a hostess who kindly walked us to our booth. The waitress was very patient a I needed more time to order and had many questions. FINALY... After placing an order and receiving our food in a timely manner, it was time to eat! The calamari was covered in a sweet sauce, a bit chewy, but very good. Next was the SUSHI: The Nutty Almond (My favorite) was beautifully made and was more than I could hope for with the coconut topping and decadent sauces. Mmmm. I also ordered something new to me, The Tsunami without the eel and fish eggs. Without these two ingredients my sushi was displeasing to the eyes. However , it didn't lack in flavor. I would order all of these again!! Had a great time and would love to go back again soon!

Their SOUP and SUSHI and ATMOSPHERE. Those are 3 strengths of Asian Gourmet. Their sushi especially. It is created really well, holds together amazingly, and is extremely tasty. They have many great options for sushi as well, but not so many that you become confused as to where you are and what you are looking at. Careful if you get the hot tea! It sure is hot.

Love this place. Very close to home. I've probably tried every item on their menu; and while there's been things I haven't liked there's never been anything I hated. Good quality and excellent service. It always improves the experience when you're served by waiters and waitresses with great attitudes toward their job and you. I have never had a bad thing to say about the quality of the waiters and waitresses. Even during their busy hours; I've never waited more than 10 minutes for my food. Asian Gourmet is affordable as well. So you don't need a special occasion to make the trip. It is tucked in to a shopping mall, but don't let that steer you away. Fantastic little joint!

I have been to a lot of sushi places in Columbus since arriving in November. I love sushi and have to try as many places as possible. This location is in a strip mall which may scare some sushi-lovers away, however - co-workers took me here and I was impressed. The sashimi was fresh.. the nigiri was awesome.. the miso was good... I didn't have any rolls, but what I saw others order looked great. The seating and decor are clean and modern. Some of the tables are pressed a bit close to your neighbors, but hey.. in Japan you might be sitting at the same table as your neighbors.. so this works for me. I will be back again!

Started with a sweet iced tea, which was confusing since I asked for unsweetened tea. Whatever I can roll with it. When I ordered I found out what they mean by Sushi sale is really Maki sale. Shame since I wanted Nigiri. So my second choice was wild mushroom beef. So sad for me they're no longer serving it, but decided to keep it on the menu. At this point I decided not to give a third choice and left. Waitress was super sweet so I'll go back, but it'll be a while.

It had been far too long since I'd been out for sushi. And walking through the door of this place....it was like I had COME HOME!! The restaurant is decorated very cool, very modern. We were shown to our seats right when walking in. So far, so good... The menu has quite a bit of options, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and a large selection of sushi. I had my mind made up that I was getting sushi when I came in, but looking over the menu....my mind started to drift to the other delicious things calling out to me. But alas, I got sushi and stuck with my original plan. I started out with a cup of hot & sour soup. Very good. I ordered two rolls....a volcano roll and then a scallop spicy volcano roll...can't remember the names exactly! They were flippin' amazing!!! A little bit too pricey for what I'd normally like to spend on sushi, but well worth the price! Next time, I'll try something from the Chinese or Thai menu! Great place to go for sushi, drinks or a full Asian meal! I'll definitely be back to this place! Such a great find!!

I love Asian Gourmet and it is one I the only places I get sushi at. I'm allergic to shell fish and they make sure that the chefs cook and cut with clean utensils. We usually make a reservation if we are eating in the evening. I came in today on a wim for lunch. My waitress is a bit brusk however she is the only person who has ever waited on me that has been this way. Highly recommend for sushi.

Absolutely delicious! I have come here many times over the years and have never had a bad experience. I love the moo shu pork or the nutty almond roll. Very polite staff and always quick. The decor is stylish and upscale for a restaurant inside a shopping center it was a nice surprise! Overall very good!

Very unpleasant experience. Got 2 rolls and my wife and i both wouldn't eat more than a couple pieces. Im happier with Kroger sushi. Also got the general tso chicken and fried rice. I would rate this part a 3 except for the sushi being so bad the average is a 1 star. The flavor was good on the chicken but no veggies at all except for a couple bell pepper pieces. The fried rice was good. Needless to say i paid way more for what was edible than i would ever choose to do. My wife and i will not be coming here again.

While traveling the US I have had the best when it come to Sushi. Arrived back in Columbus and really struggled finding even good Sushi, until I when to Krogers and saw this place. After that for the last 5 yrs this is my Friday Night go to place for Sushi. I have introduce so many people to this place and they love it. BEST SUSHI IN TOWN!!!!

This was a great stop for Sushi and some Asian food after a movie, but unlike others, I found the service to be fairly slow. Perhaps it's because it was a Friday evening, and obviously the movie theatre next door will attract crowds. I really enjoyed the spicy Korean style chicken, but the big hit at the table was the wild mushroom beef, with a great brown sauce that really complimented the earthy flavor. We also enjoyed the Buckeye roll and some California rolls. If you're looking for a nice treat at Stoneridge, this is worth a visit.

The 45 reviews below have done a nice job describing this surprising restaurant's beautiful decor and good food. What I liked best was the "brunch" deal, which lets you choose three small versions of entrees (from a list of about 12) for $16.99. This is a pretty amazing deal. For that price, I got a bowl of hot and sour soup, General Tso's chicken, shrimp and vegetable tempura, four pieces of nigiri sushi, a bowl of steamed rice, edamame, a little sprouts-n-sesame salad, and even a bowl of strawberries. And it was all served beautifully on individual plates together on a large tray. Excellent. My wife got the stone-pot bibimbap, and though she rarely eats beef, she thought the meat was scrumptious (as was the dish overall). Our waitress was also very nice and did a good job. Add Asian Gourmet to the long list of great Asian restaurants in town.

We ended up here last night for a family dinner at the recommendation of my niece. It's her favorite place for sushi in Columbus. Two in our party ordered the sesame chicken, two ordered the pad Thai chicken and one ordered the Triple Delight. Appetizers were potstickers and a couple different sushi rolls. Everyone seemed to enjoy what they had, but this was not the best pad Thai I ever had by any means. It seemed like it was made for an American audience. Not particularly authentic or flavorful, but certainly not bad. My martini came to me salty, so I sent it back, figuring they made it dirty when I wanted it dry. The second one tasted the same, but I didn't complain again. Our waiter was excellent and very nice. I didnt want to bother him again. The atmosphere was okay. A little devoid of personality and kind of expected, but an okay attempt at contemporary Asian chic. I do like that they give the hand wipes to use before your meal. Nice touch. Lots of Chinese on the menu, a little Korean, not much Thai. Kinda have to be leary of places that do too many styles because one or more of them is not likely to be their specialty. If I coud give 3.5 stars for this visit, I would. I'd go back for sushi.

Had another OK dinner at Asian Gourmet, after a rough start. There was a wait to be seated, a rolling three or four tables. After noticing that we got jumped, I asked the hosts and they seated us right away. Things were a little disorganized up front, but maybe they aren't used to being jam packed. Perhaps losing track of customers is their plan to manage the volume back down. But really, I did not mind too much. Decided it was a Thai night. Tom Yong Goong, a fresh-tasting, slightly spicy, lemongrass soup was the starter. It was very good, but really didn't need the shrimp. It seemed like overkill. For the entree, I had the Basil Medley which combined shrimp, scallops, large calamari rings, and either little squid or octopus. I love Thai basil, which is sweeter than plain ole basil, and while the dish did have basil, it was not nearly enough to call it the Basil Medley, especially when competing with all of the seafood flavors. I also think that it could have been presented more creatively than "bowl of stuff". The service was competent and friendly, and she kept good track of us. Now, about the "Gourmet"... This place tries to do a lot of different things. Sushi, Chinese, Korean, Thai... Coupled with the good consistency, it makes it a safe place to try new things. The physical environment is nice, and borders on classy. However for me, the presentation and execution of the dishes does not cross the threshold to gourmet. Paper napkins do not help that. With all of that I would say the price is five to ten percent high, which isn't enough to scare me away, but it loses a star for being overpriced or undergourmeted.

Great first impression when you walk through the door. Very nice decor... love the lighting... see my pic. My choice for the evening was sushi rolls; though the menu does have other Japanese, Chinese, and Thai dishes also. I started with some Hot Green Tea - very tasty on a cold winter night!! Then I had the most delicious and tasty Spicy Coconut Soup with chicken, lime leaves, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, and lemongrass. OHHHHHHHHH soooooo yummy!!!!! I would have loved a huge pot of the stuff, but I only got a small bowl for my appetizer. Highly recommended if you love some spicy Thai flavor!!! For my entree, I chose the Easton Roll and the Titanic Roll. Of the two, I would say the Titanic was my favorite. Very tasty!!! They have so many sushi rolls to choose from, it will require another visit... or two or three more to try some different ones. For me, this was a very positive experience, and I look forward to returning!!

I'll admit that I have a deep nostalgic soft-spot for this place, as me and my Wife have been going here since the beginning of our relationship almost 7 years ago. The food has actually excelled over time, leaps and bounds in my opinion. I have never eaten a single thing at this establishment that has disappointed. The Sushi is modern for the majority concerning the specialty rolls, and succeeds on so many levels of taste and texture. My Wife and Mother are huge fans of the Kung Pao Chicken, Hunan Shrimp and I have had the Korean Bulgogi on several occasions and it's phenomenal. I absolutely love their Crab Rangoon and Shrimp Tempura Roll also. The service is always pleasant and attentive. I love the warm dark atmosphere this establishment creates once dusk hits. They also have a very large, contemporary bar to serve the masses and those who love cocktails. Happy hour is a can't miss at this place! Let it be known. I really do love this establishment more than many reasons to count. I remember when they first opened and I never thought they would succeed just by the name alone, but they did. Not only did they succeed, but as previously stated "excelled". This is, a great place to be.

The food quality here has gone down considerably in the last year. I used to come here all the time for their Bulgogi. I am Korean and I used to come here all the time for their sushi and Bulgogi. I don't think I will be returning because the quality of meat that they use for this dish is terrible. Also the flavor is very bland now. Their sushi was also very bland and tasteless. I usually get the spicy salmon roll. Not spicy at all. It's too bad the quality of their food has gone down because I used to travel from downtown to gahanna for their food. Not anymore. I will have to go elsewhere for my Korean food and sushi cravings.

This used to be one of our favorite places to grab some sushi. Went on a Saturday night and the whole vibe was different. Sushi was bland, room temperature, and tasted a little off. The staff seemed complacent. Our server was just okay. Nothing horrible but nothing to make me come back. We will try somewhere else next time.

Hands down, this is my go-to place for sushi. It's kind of a drive from where I live, but totally worth it. My friend and I both started off with the hot and sour soup, which is thick, filling, spicy and delicious. I've tried this appetizer at a few Chinese restaurants in the area and so far none have come close to comparison. I ordered the Dragon roll with BBQ eel. Spectacular. I usually like to dip my sushi in the spicy mayo sauce they have but this roll was delicious enough on its own. I need an excuse to go back for more ASAP. #craving #hungergames

It was my first time at this restaurant....and I don't know. I probably order something wrong on the menu but my Thai dish that I have it all the time at different Asian restaurant, basil seafood medley, was not what I expected at all. It comes out and look like seafood in soy sauce soup. Very salty. Slow service and it wasn't that busy. I wanted to give it a star but their seafood quality food is not bad. I didn't try their sushi bcuz I had my fav places just across the street or right down the road.

Damn you Asian Gourmet! You have turned me into a sushi junkie. Seriously, this has turned into my Sunday Night I-don't-care-if-it-takes-me-15-minutes-to-drive-Âhere-and-15-minutes-to-drive-home-again-i-must-Âget-sushi addiction. I'm here, dropping $30 on 3 delicious sushi rolls regularly on Sunday nights, so I can chow on sushi and watch True Blood. A perfect Sunday. The buckeye roll, morse roll, blind date...all delicious. They also have great Pad Thai that is even better reheated the next day for lunch. However, Nida's Thai on high is where I go for Pad Thai. The rolls will run you 6-14 bucks a piece and they are half price sometimes (I think Wednesday nights). Go here, eat here, love it. The atmosphere is clean and classy with a casual feel, so its great for a date, or just a night with friends. Everything is clean and the bathrooms are kept tidy as well. It's a gem for being in a strip mall. They also own Edamame at Easton which is good, but I like Asian Gourmet more.

I truly love this place. I've lived away from Columbus for close to two years but every time I come here to visit, I stop here and another sushi restaurant just down the street. The good is amazing and the people are super friendly. Try the Volcano Roll and the Hot Saki is awesome.

We have been to Asian Gourmet many times. It is close to our house and they have good food. My husband is Korean. Asian Gourmet has a Korean section on their menu. We have ordered Dolsot Bim Bim Bap many times and it is delicious. One complaint is that the servers do not necessarily understand the concept of this dish. It comes in a VERY hot marble bowl, therefore, the rice and other ingredients continue to cook when it is delivered to your table. It also comes with a very spicy sauce/paste. You are supposed to put it on immediately and start stirring it immediately. On several occasions, the server delivers the meal and doesn't bring the sauce....or they let it sit back in the kitchen for several minutes before bringing it to us. This means that the rice on the bottom continues to cook and ends up crunchy and hard. Crunchy rice does not taste good. However, when they deliver the meal correctly...it is delicious! We have gone with groups and ordered sushi, which is also delicious. I wish they had a better kids menu. The "kids menu" only has one thing...chicken tenders with french fries. I wish they had lo mein or fried rice on the kids menu. We always have to order the adult size meal and pay full price for a meal that looks almost untouched when my daughter is finished.

Our family spent $300 (excluding tax and gratuity) at this restaurant at lunch today. we will not return. While the food was acceptable, the service was HORRIBLE. It was not the wait staff but the ineptness of the folks in the kitchen and the sushi chefs behind the sushi bar. There were only 2 other customers at that time in the restaurant. Our soups were delivered in installments. it took over an hour to deliver the sushi. I talked to the Manager who could not have cared less. What a shame!!!

Asian Gourmet is a great spot for sushi and standard Asian-American cousine. My dining partner had been there multiple times and knew his way around the menu. To mix things up, we ordered an appetizer he never tried before: the firecracker shrimp. I doubt either of us will order it again. Our server described it as shrimp wrapped in a "batter like tempura, but lighter and fluffier." My friend described it as "Long John Silver shrimp." My friend's description was more accurate. The entrees, however, were very good. We happened to go while they were having a buy one, get one half off special, so my dining partner and I threw caution in the wind and stuffed ourselves on 2 great and 2 mediocre rolls: The nutty almond, crunchy ringo, mixed veggies, and Philly. The nutty almond roll was amazing--hands down some of the best sushi I've had in Columbus. Following that, the Philly roll was definitely good, though the smoked salmon was a bit strong. The crunchy ringo comes in 3rd place because of an odd texture that I didn't enjoy, though my friend said he liked it. Last was the mixed veggies, which had an harshly crunchy vegetable that I thought didn't suit sushi. As other reviewers mentioned, Asian Gourmet has a nice vibe to it. Tasteful decorations, amazingly attentive servers, and great food is the perfect combination to get me to come back for me. Will I go back? Definitely.

I love this place. The decor is upscale, trendy clean and zen. I have been coming here for - on average 3 times a month - 7 years. I'm still coming back although they took my favorite dish off the menu the black peppered seared Ahi and Bon Vie took the seared Ahi off their menu as well. My favorites: Firecracker Shrimp, egg drop soup, edamame, brand new roll the Nutty Almond Roll (Great) lays over 2 delicate sauces with thin strips of toasted coconut garnish. The steamed pot stickers are great the dough is thin and light not like other places where you can barely chew them the dough is so thick. Spouse likes the mango chicken. What I find insulting is you are charged $3.00 every time you get a new cup of tea with a bag. This was a first for me. Usually tea is refilled at no charge. The management may want to reconsider doing this - nicket and diming. Service has always been great and I am so excited when they are busy , because that means - hopefully - they are doing well. They rock...

First off, don't be deterred by the strip mall location, because the interior of Asian Gourmet and Sushi Bar is gorgeous! I totally did not expect it. I like the fact that they have a variety of Asian flavors, so no matter what your taste is, you should find something you like. I got the sweet and sour shrimp, which was a bit too sweet (even for my taste), but still very good. Next time I just won't smother so much on my meal. Whatever dressing they put on their salads was so good, I practically swallowed it whole. (I'm a sucker for sauces.) Our waiter was super friendly and did a good job of keeping our drinks full (Trust me, that goes a long way with me!). I'll definitely be back.

This is owned by the same people as edamame, but the quality is lacking compared to edamame.

The charmingly updated but perhaps inexpensive decor wasn't what I expected from a strip mall restaurant. Huge paper lanterns hang from the ceiling softly illuminate the light wood furniture. Sand and seashells line the windowsill with little drawings from someone's finger in the sand! I love sushi though I won't profess I'm a connoisseur of what to expect in rolls of various kinds. The rolls I've seen and tasted are big and flavorful to me! The Pad Thai I ordered was plenty for the price. My boyfriend feverishly cleaned the unagi sauce off his plate with his Buckeye roll, not realizing it was made from eel. They have a Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm where their appetizers and cocktails are half price, which is not unusual at many restaurants. This reminds me how perfectly tossed the calamari was in the sweet chili sauce. I heard a guy at another table tell the waitress his Bulgogi was the best he's ever had, and that he's had from plenty. It's a place my daughter loves to visit when she's in town and we'll certainly be back for more bites!

Where do I start with this place? Well, first off, I'm in love! Please don't be deterred by the fact that this restaurant is located in a strip mall. This is probably one of the only places where "false advertising" comes to mind at first sight, but in a good way? All the substance is on the inside, and substance is what you'll find! You'll notice the atmosphere first thing... It's beautiful. They've created an environment that makes any dinner feel like a DATE. And a comfy one, at that. Wine me, dine me. Better yet, order onikoroshi (sake) and watch them pour it for you into little square, wooden boxes to sip from. It's intoxicating. I've never experienced a more professional, welcoming staff, or Americanized sushi so DELICIOUS. Seriously. Their rolls are decadent and mouth-watering. I also recall enjoying the scallops - they have a pretty well-rounded menu. All that said, the cost is actually on par with what you're used to paying at a sushi restaurant and not at all overpriced. Pardoning the drive, I gladly take my money here.

Love the Asparagus with beef. Sushi is always fresh. I wish the prices were a bit lower.

This is a beautiful restaurant. Unfortunately, the employees, including the manager, make it a waste of most of the money spent. The first thing is when I went in and sat at the sushi bar, a waitress started to pull out all the chairs around me and clean the empty spaces. Not that they were dirty, it was just something for her to do. The next thing I noticed was they use paper napkins, apparently all of the time. This is the only sushi bar that I've been in to do so. Then a guy with a cell phone sat down a few stools down and I'll be damned if the manager would tell him to take his phone outside. LOUSY service. The rolls were mostly bland. But I won't be going back.

Love this place! Locating this can be challenging as its tucked in the middle of Stoneridge Plaza shopping area. However once you taste their offerings, you'll be AMAZED! All the Specialty Rolls are always delicious! Sashimis are cut in a good size for normal price range.

Hard to believe such a pretty restaurant is tucked into the middle of Stoneridge! They've done a great job with the decor, and the staff up front was very nice and helpful. I got the spicy California Roll and the avocado roll, both of which were really good. Most if not all of their veggie rolls come in a soy wrapper instead of nori, and it's surprisingly good. Also, the spicy sauce on the California Roll had an actual kick to it, and they put plenty on unlike some other places around town which are stingy with the stuff. I also tried a spicy tofu dish that has a name I can't remember and it was really good. And VERY spicy. They weren't kidding when they marked it on the menu as hot. The prices seemed pretty comparable to decent Chinese/Japanese places around. A little less than PF Changes and a little more than Mr. Wok and Mr. Sushi.

Lots of menu options. My wife loves sushi and I don't. She RAVED about the quality of the rolls she ordered (Buckeye Roll is awesome). A little bit more pricey than other options in Cbus though...

I went looking for good sushi, and didn't find it. It wasn't horrible. I didn't die. The menu had a wide selection of weird rolls--lots with mayo or fried. Nothing quite lived up to its potential, though, and the raw tuna tasted extra fishy (which is bad). In the future, if I come back, I'll stick to their "asian" fare. What dropped this down from a 3 star to a 2 star for me was the waiter calling me babe, dear, sweetheart and lovely. Personal pet peeve, but if you're a total stranger, you have no right to endearments.

They serve the best sashimi and sushi in Ohio. But the price is quite high.

I'm not really sure how to start out this review... I'm really not unhappy with my visit, but I'm not thrilled either. To start, the interior is very unique and stylish. You can tell they definitely put some thought into the atmosphere when creating the interior design. It would be a good place to go on a first or second date, as the inside is very impressive, considering the outside location (strip mall). My one complaint is how long it took our server to take our order, bring our drinks, and bring us our food. We arrived at 1:30 on a Sunday (really late lunch) and did not get out of there until close to 4:30. This was mainly because we waited about 45 minutes for our food. I'm not sure if this was due to the kitchen being slow, or if the sever had too many tables to wait on. I noticed that our server visited at least 6 tables, so that may have been a factor. Regardless, to wait 45 minutes on sushi and 3 Chinese entrees is a long wait, in my opinion. The food was pretty good, but then again, almost anything is going to taste good when you are starving and you've waited 45 mins. on your food. I really don't feel fair giving this place three stars, but I don't feel that it deserves four, either. I'd like to give it 3 1/2 but I can't. I will definitely go back and give this place another try though, just to see if the service is always this slow, or if we just caught the server on a bad day. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. Just don't go here if you are really, really hungry and don't have the patience to wait almost an hour for your food to arrive.

I used to really like Asian Gourmet! I've been there probably 6 times over the last 8 years. Obviously it's not a favorite, but I did go back. So, it's date night and my boyfriend wants sushi, but I don't eat fish. What do I suggest?? Asian Gourmet, of course. I thought it'd be perfect. Well, I was wrong. It was one of our worst dinner date experiences ever and I won't be back. I think it must have been opposite day for our server, because as polite as he was, we got the opposite of everything we asked for. I ordered hot tea and got iced tea, boy ordered hot saki and got chilled saki. We were told the sushi kitchen was running behind and it may come out later my general tso's order. Well, the sushi came out 15 minutes before I got my food. So, now my boyfriend has almost finished eating before I'd even started. On to the food. My boyfriend disliked the sush because on all of his nigiri pieces, wasabi was rubbed on the rice. This was not denoted on the menu as he would have asked them to hold it otherwise. I'm not sure why wasabi would automatically be put on a piece of sushi? I thought nigiri sushi was supposed to be purist? IDK Bottom line, he didn't like it. My General Tso's chicken, which I had had there before and liked was completely different in some sort of red sauce which was overflowing the plate and was enough sauce for a weeks worth of the restaurant's General Tso's dishes. It was really disheartening since it had been something I'd liked here before. So, long story short, our server was very sweet and seemed nervous so, I chose not to complain since he was trying so hard and the food wasn't his fault. However, All of these event kind of ruined our date and I just can't bring myself to get over that so, i won't be back and now, I'm nervous to give their sister restaurant Edamame a try because of this. I'm sure not everyone would have this kind of experience there, but I know that Asian Gourmet isn't what it used to be.

Oooh! Another gem swallowed by a strip mall! This little awesome Asian joint is so chic on the inside; you would've never guessed it by its location. A few friends and I had a hankering for sushi so, thanks to the Yelp app, we landed here. The service was jack-rabbit fast and our server, Cory, made the experience that much better by suggesting items and walking us through the specials. I'm down with buy one roll, get the second half off, sushi rolls!! My party of three got four appetizers and four sushi rolls. Split three ways, we each only walked out of there spending $15 +tip. SAHWEET, delicious deal!

Brian K.
The outside really does not justice to what is going on inside. As soon as you go in you will see that it really has a much better aesthetic than what strip mall location would ever allow to show. Aside from the looks, the sushi rolls are very well done. I highly recommend checking this place out.

When I first went to this restaurant, I had a great dish: the hot pepper chicken. My non-Korean friends had the salmon teriyaki, pad thai and Thai curry chicken. They all raved about their individual dishes although I did not taste any of them. And, lunch is definitely better than dinner because you get a soup or salad with your meal while it's cheaper. Being Korean, I was excited to see the extensive Korean menu because good Korean food is scarce in Columbus. They offered dishes like jjambbong (hot noodle soup with seafood and veggies) and bibimbap, which seemed promising. So, I went back with my husband to try some of these dishes. What a disappontment. The jjambong was made with udon noodles and it was totally overcooked. The broth didn't taste right and even smelled a bit funny. We also got the sweet and sour chicken, which was forgettable. We ordered the shrimp tempura roll, which was good but was not worth the price. Well, although I only like the hot pepper chicken, I really crave it and it's better than all the other hot pepper chickens I've tried in Columbus... so I've went back for it a couple of times. My husband tried other dishes like the Mongolian beef, General Tso's and some other forgettable dishes. I understand that they want to have an extensively Asian menu, but it seems stupid to have such a huge menu when you can't perfect most of the dishes. They should just stick to what they're good at... maybe they won't need to spend so much money on so many different ingredients and they could lower the price a little.

We always sit at the Sushi bar and order the Sashimi Lover's platter. Sooo good, so fresh! I'm moving away from eating decadent rolls like the Buckeye Roll, Crunchy Ringo roll and the Spicy Scallop roll which are very good but high in calories. Pete, one of the sushi chefs, made us a beautifully cut orange for dessert on Halloween and it was so pretty to look at we hated to eat it... but we did. The staff is very friendly from the moment you enter the lobby and the sushi chefs greet you as you are seated at the bar. Right away, a server will come to take your drink order and get your edamame started. We just love Asian Gourment! We have dinner here on average once a month.

Best sushi restaurant in Columbus!! They also own edamame at easton which is great as well!!

The food here is good but a little pricey.. especially if you get a drink and an appetizer along with your meal.. They have some spicy shrimp soup that is to die for! They have large portions but sometimes charge for extra rice when you ask for a to go container with rice which I find annoying. I have never been blown away by their service but the food makes up for that.

I'm a Californian. If I were still in California, I would give this place a 3 (or 4)...can't decide as I haven't eaten here that much since I don't live close to it. Being in Columbus, I'll give it a 5. The decor is beautiful. The people are well dressed, carefree on a Friday evening. There are wine on the menu. The food is well arranged. The plates are square. Feel like I'm back in San Francisco again. (Oh yes... the food is pretty decent).

This is one of the best (not much competition) in the city. This all-asian-food-under-one roof offers some good deals during the week for the typical Americanized maki rolls. They have standard-fare sashimi. Korean is pretty decent...possibly the best on the east side of columbus. Try the stone bowl bibimbap. Their curries and Tom Yum Gai soup are favorites of mine.

AWESOME pan-Asian fusion cuisine in a contemporary setting in the Stoneridge Plaza in Gahanna. A varied assortment of asian delicacies including Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Thai foods -- as well a wide assortment of interesting and one-of-a-kind sushi menu items. Try this place out! You won't be disappointed!

My family and I have been going to Asia Gourmet since the day it was opened and before that to its predecessor China Gourmet. We have always had good service and the food was consistently good. Its not authentic Chinese/Thai etc, but the food is tasty and the atmosphere lively. Our only gripe till now was that the great Chinese tea that used to be served like in most Chinese restaurants with loose leaf tea has now morphed to tea bags: just not the same. Our last visit was a major disaster. We got there around 7:20pm and ordered food, both regular fare and sushi. At 8:20pm we had finished our dinner and the sushi had still not arrived. My wife and I complained to the staff at the desk. The sushi eventually made it to the table about 15 minutes later. I kinda thought that they would have given us a break with the bill for the shoddy service, especially since we are regulars there and we had never complained before and most of the regular staff know us well. But I was quite disappointed when it did not happen. They did not have to give us a break, but it would have been a gesture of understanding. I doubt whether I will return there.

Chances are pretty good that if I want Chinese food, I'll think of Asian Gourmet first. That's saying something, since they also do Thai, Japanese and Korean cuisine very well too. And they have an extensive sushi menu that never ceases to please. Quality is never sacrificed for variety, though. The employees are extremely friendly and are great at remembering regulars. Prices are a little higher than you might expect for the setting (a strip mall), but they are worth it. The idea of cross-Asian food might be strange to some, but it works at Asian Gourmet.

It is a good place to go if you like sushi but the person you are going with does not. Lots of menu options. The Buckeye roll is the best! I also like the tuna tartar and the general tso's. Fun atmosphere.

Terrible service! Entrees took over an hour to arrive at our table. Maybe understandable if it was busy, but it was practically empty. Food was good but way too slow. We even mentioned the delay but it didn't seem to matter.

Sat and Wed nights after 9pm sushi is half off. Alaska Salmon roll is my favorite! The Bip Bim Bop is awesome.

(3)Carla B.
I was not impressed. The decor and ambiance were lovely, and the service was quick...but I came around 2:30 for lunch and was told at several turns that I was really close to lunch's end-- not as though they were being helpful , but resentfully. Lunch ended at 3pm. They did not offer me the lunch menu...I had to ask. When my soup and entreé arrived... The won ton soup was hideously salty (can you say heart attack?) and the wor sue gai was drenched in brown gravy... Halfway through it was awfully soggy. I WILL NOT RETURN, nor will I recommend. I understand I was eating very basic fare...but if they can't handle that, how can they do gourmet? The steamed rice was even chewy !
(1)Heath D.
(5)David D.
(2)Allie L.

(4)Helen C.
Really good food. Service was fast and friendly. We had several people in our group and the entire order was done correctly and brought out at the same time.
(5)Dave M.
Nice contemporary decor. The sushi has never disappointed me. Their eclectic Asian menu, however, has on several occasions left me unimpressed. There are some off flavors in many of the dishes. Service is very good. I still go there but only for the sushi.
(4)Nick S.
(3)Nick C.
(5)Molly K.
(5)Hung C.
(3)Emily D.
The best sushi in Columbus. Hands down. I will never go to another sushi place, as long as I can go to this one. I've never tried any of their appetizers or dishes, as the sushi is delectable. You'll love this place, trust me.
(5)Anna T.
(5)Gina J.
(4)Nakita C.
(5)Kristin F.
(3)Sam T.
(2)Taylor O.
(4)Matt P.
(4)Allan O.
Sometimes it's not just the food that makes you go back! They played South African music! Nostalgia!
(4)Cori N.

I love this place. Great sushi, if a tad over priced and Saki is decent. Service has always been simple, friendly and efficient. Good stuff.

(4)Brandon C.

(4)Tara H.
(5)Chloe S.
Absolutely delicious! I have come here many times over the years and have never had a bad experience. I love the moo shu pork or the nutty almond roll. Very polite staff and always quick. The decor is stylish and upscale for a restaurant inside a shopping center it was a nice surprise! Overall very good!
(5)Matt F.

(5)Matt W.

(5)Lisa Z.
(1)Ali H.
(3)Ben H.

(5)Tennille C.

(4)Brian S.
This is owned by the same people as edamame, but the quality is lacking compared to edamame.
(2)Tina G.
(4)Marsadie M.
(5)Michael G.
Love the Asparagus with beef. Sushi is always fresh. I wish the prices were a bit lower.
(4)Paul F.
(2)Berinda H.
Love this place! Locating this can be challenging as its tucked in the middle of Stoneridge Plaza shopping area. However once you taste their offerings, you'll be AMAZED! All the Specialty Rolls are always delicious! Sashimis are cut in a good size for normal price range.
(5)Sabrina L.
Wok and Mr. Sushi.
(4)Adam L.
Lots of menu options. My wife loves sushi and I don't. She RAVED about the quality of the rolls she ordered (Buckeye Roll is awesome). A little bit more pricey than other options in Cbus though...
(4)April L.
(2)Luyang Y.
They serve the best sashimi and sushi in Ohio. But the price is quite high.
(4)Shawnda D.
(3)Liz M.
