I've been going here a few times a year my whole life. It feels very homey and everyone has always been pleasant. It's definitely meant to be a family establishment. The food has always been average to good, no worse than anywhere else in Columbiana. The family style dinners are very good though, and will bring back memories of dinner at grandma's. The major selling point to this place is the bakery though. It's just amazing. Everything is spot on. If you ever need baked goods or a cake for anything you can't beat this place. I frequently get donuts for everyone at work and get asked all the time where they come from. Do your mouth a favor and try the peanut butter donut!

Took a young lady out for dinner here. She had the turkey club sandwich and I the Dutch Sampler. My meal included a soup and salad bar, but there was enough food just in the main course to satisfy my appetite. The food was good, the service was good and i would recommend it.

We live right around the corner from the Dutch Haus and this is our 'go to' place when this mama doesn't want to cook, but still wants her family to eat a home cooked meal. Our family's personal favorite is the soup and salad bar, which is great for small children and elderly folk with dentures (I'm being serious!) because the lettuce and other veggies are chopped nice and small, so it's easy to eat! What's nice about Dutch Haus is that they also serve meals family style, and you can pick the items that your table would want. If you go, ask for Katie H. for a server. She is attentive, always bubbly and sweet, and you won't have to ask for anything- she is on top of it before the question is out of your mouth! The bakery makes gorgeous cakes, which are available for sale at checkout.

Salad bar - they must use something on the lettuce (potato whiter causes me an upset stomach for several hours and need to take a dump soon after eating) next time eat off menu - salad bar could have had more variety - pricey for what you get

Never had a bad meal here. We drive 30 mins just 2 eat here. Everything they make is homemade witch I love. The people that are saying that food is nasty probably only ate here 1 time and don't like that taste of Home cook food. They make everything down 2 the bread which you can taste the difference. And I love the salad bar. Always a great place 2 eat. Now the Boxes issue just started a few years ago and it is a problem. I've been going here since I was a kid and we never had a problem. But they wanna give you 1 small box for the meal you ordered I normally order the chicken and it's nice sizes of chicken I normally have 3 left and only 1 piece can normally fit in the box. But other then that I love the food

We have been regular customers of the Dutch Haus for many years and have never once been disappointed. The home cooked style foods are only the beginning. They have an amazing bakery with every type of treat imaginable from cookies to wedding cakes. My wife and I had our wedding reception there several years ago and were thrilled with the service. When we needed a venue to host my parents 50th wedding anniversary party, the Dutch Haus was on the short list. We decided once again to trust the staff and once again were very happy. The family styled meals were served hot and professionally. The staff also served a wonderful cake prepared in the bakery. They even boxed the remaining cake in single serve containers for the guest to take home. We are customers for life.

If Sam's Club and Cracker Barrel were to go in business together, this is what would happen. Food quality is horrid. It's like everything is made/prepared in 50-gallon drums and bought in bulk. The uniforms the waitresses are made to wear are insulting and the prices don't reflect the quality. Go if you are hungry but, depending on when you do, be prepared for a crowd or waiting a little. Meh

Great place to go if you like a good, hearty home-cooked meal. However, I think the prices are a little higher than most places, considering they are VERY stingy about letting you take home your leftovers. The soup & salad bar is one if the best I've had, they have a nice variety of items, including different fruity sides as well as cupcakes, cornbread, & donuts. I had the vegetable beef soup from the salad bar, and it was the best that I've had. Very hearty with a perfect flavor combination. I decided to order a dinner (since the dinners were $11-12 but also included the soup/salad bar) I thought that would be a better choice since the soup/salad bar alone was $8-9...for that extra $3.00 I could fill up at the soup/salad bar, and then get a 'to-go' box for most of my dinner...I guess the joke was on me when I asked for the box & the waitress brought me something that looked like it would barely hold a muffin. (Not that I would dare put something from the salad bar in the to-go box, but you get the idea). The waitress we had left a LOT to be desired...when she finally did come to our table to ask if we needed anything, we had to ask for refills, when our glasses had been clearly empty for quite some time. Speaking of waitresses, they are made to wear one of the worst, unattractive uniforms I've seen. I really do love the food here, that's why I give it the 4 stars...if they could just fix a few simple things, the restaurant would be outstanding! :-)

My wife and I recently went to the Das Dutch Haus, it's a good restaurant...a little over rated by us locals, (since I am from the area), but good. I had the salad bar and everything was fresh, the waitress was friendly and the main entree was good. I rated it A-OK because if you've ever been to any down home restaurant in the South, a rating of A-OK is being nice. If you are going to make something unhealthy (and down south it gets fried-tasticly unhealthy), make it something to write home about. Oh yeah, my wife said she left there feeling like she had a bowling ball in her belly, both times.

Down home Amish cooking makes this place a decent stand-in when I don't feel like driving to Sugarcreek or Charm. The roast beef and pan-fried chicken dinners are good. They don't measure up to the places mentioned above. The all-u-can eat salad bar includes soup and plenty of healthy options. On yesterday's lunch visit, the salad bar was all I needed. The veggie soup was excellent. It did contain a small amount of their roast beef. The potato soup was bland. The sides on the salad bar are very good. They include things like cole slaw, a sauerkraut salad, pickled carrots, cottage cheese and the like. Most of them contain sugar too. Small tastes are advised, but many are very good. Service is always good. No alcohol and never on Sundays. This is a wholesome, religious kinda place. Think coffee, there's always a fresh pot brewing. The pies, and the pastries in general, are good and very popular. My chocolate-peanut butter pie was very good. Really it's a 3.5 star place.

What a nice find in eastern Ohio. Das Dutch Haus came highly recommended by a friend and I was happy to give it a try! They were very busy on a Saturday morning but nonetheless, parking wasn't difficult. I had to wait a few minutes for a table but the service was prompt and food was ready quickly. The server kept my coffee refilled and checked on us several times during our meal. I opted to skip the breakfast buffet as there didn't seem to be enough healthy selections for me. Instead, I had an egg-white omelet with mushrooms and swiss. They also have a case of yummy-looking baked goods that you can take with you. Prices were very reasonable.

Nice place to check out if you're 100. Then again you probably won't be on yelp reading this review.

Okay, first and foremost the thing with the little boxes is awkward. Don't put your customers in a position where they feel uncomfortable asking for a box. Raise prices and charge me the extra dollar so I can take my dinner home. I get not allowing customers to take salad bar items home, but c'mon, my wife should be able to take her chicken and mashed potatoes home. Not only does this policy hurt the customers it hurts the employees as well, putting them in stupid situations because the owner can't make a good customer service decision. If u can't let go of the silly little box policy at least make your waitresses explain it to every customer when they sit down. Then at least there won't be the awkwardness when customers look at the little box and the big plate of food that remains if you fill up on the salad bar. Now that that's out of the way let me say the food was very good to excellent and the three stars are for the food. The soups were hearty and tasted fresh and the salad bar was wonderful with many fresh and tasty items. I would say the pastries were the beat I've had in a while. They've definitely got some good cooks working here. The customer service needed some fine tuning, I had to ask for a refill when my glass was clearly empty when I was still eating and the waitress asked me if I needed anything.. Just ask to refill the drink and serve the customer and it'll do wonders for ur tips. U don't want the customer debating how much to tip when the service was subpar. Bottom line - food A+, service - C, little boxes - F.

The food we had was wonderful. Real mashed potatoes :) The prices seemed high until we realized that the dinner selections all came with soup and salad bar. Limited menu selection.

So-so food and lots of it! Serving copious amounts of common food, well appointed and apparently took all design cues from Cracker Barrel (you enter and exit through a gift shop). Baked goods are fantastic, soup very good, salad bar and buffet have ample selection, entrees are solid, serviceable and filling. I've never left raving but haven't had to spit it out or send it back. It's perfectly "okay."

So this place is a joke!! First of all just because the locals love you, doesn't mean you're any good. Food is average. You can get the same damn meals at any chain breakfast restaurant. The only thing you have going are your pies but even then, giant eagle bakery is not too far behind. Now the real reason only one star was awarded. While visiting family in the Youngstown area, I was asked to go here. A cousin of mine could not finish her meal so asked for a to go box. The waitress returned with the smallest container I have ever seen. When she (my cousin) asked for a larger container, the waitress responded "you should have been hungrier" and "it's our policy to only have this to go size". I seriously was baffled by this. Guess this is what you get in inbred degenerate towns like this.

Just gross..... the iced tea was ok!!! People on yelp seem to complain that the to go boxes are too small..... I didn't even ask for one. Maybe the locals think that is good food...... yuck.

I always order the same thing, so I can't really talk about how great everything on the menu is. I get the turkey, all white, with stuffing and mashed potatoes. The real star of this meal, is the stuffing. Herbacious, moist, and not overly salted. It's a great homemade stuffing. They have pies to end your meal with. The coconut cream pie was my father's favorite pie and would often request it for his birthday, as opposed to cake. However, I am partial to their apple dumplings. The crust is great and the apples are tender and sweet. It certainly is one of the best that I've ever had.

You cannot leave Das Dutch House hungry. Since we ended up staying at the Das Dutch House Inn, which has a continental breakfast, we did not try the breakfast at the restaurant. However, including the salad bar in a lunch or a dinner was almost overwhelming in term of quantity of quality. We did not sample many other restaurants in the area, and not being from there I have no frame of reference to other similar restaurants in the area, but from where I come from, this food tasted homemade. I'm sure they don't make their own hot dogs and may buy their corned beef. There may be some store bought ingredients, but the vast majority of the recipes provided and served, though, are not on any Sysco menu I am aware of anywhere in the country. The items on the salad bar are fresh. If you're saying "MMM!!" after selecting something from the salad bar, you're doing it wrong. Our service experiences were of high quality. The service staff, all of them, went out of their way to make us feel welcome and took great care of us every time. The ordered food was always hot and fresh. I feel the place went overboard on the amish decor, and making all the women uniforms white, but that nit pick is completely overwhelmed by the quality of food and service we experienced at Das Dutch Haus.

Oh boy a five star! My long time favorite for Fri night fish dinner. No nothing frilly or fancy ;simple wholesome meals served with genuine polite people who appreciate your patronage.Meals + buffet are priced reasonable , bit of a drive but always worthwhile and have never disapppointed. Offer a very good selection of cakes .pies & cookies too

I went here for dinner. The salad bar was included with the entree. You get unlimited refills of salads. The salads were very good. The soup was tasty. The pies were not as good as it can be but then again I probably shouldn't have picked apple pie.

Good comfort food. A bit of a tourist novelty. I don't however like the frugalty of the restaurant - any restaurant that has a buffet and language on the menu regarding sharing and subsequent charges is just not the ideal evening out restaurant. RULES 1. Go brekky 2. Buffet away if health is not your primary concern 3. Don't be fooled - the wait staffs mennonite dress are really just uniforms 4. Comfort food lunch - taters and gravy.
