Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

OK. So you know I'm a big fan of mom and pop type places. I actually seek them out to explore new places and people. (Max and Erma's, Friday's, Applebee's.....Meh). I found this restaurant today on another jaunt down to the round town south of Cbus. (Yes there is life outside of Cbus, people) I came across a small strip mall with a non descript looking Chinese restaurant called the Bamboo House. I had to go in. First impression: Small, not too exciting, but pleasant and clean enough looking. Greeting: Immediately and with a bit of warmth and sincerity. Food: Lunch of Hot and Sour soup, Kun Pao Chicken with steamed rice and a couple Tsingtao beers. Hot and Sour soup was pretty good, a little peppery but with lots of vegetables and I mean lots of vegetables, a hearty soup. Kun Pao was medium spicy like I asked for, with a fair amount of chicken, lots of water chestnuts and bamboo with some cashews sprinkled in. Very tasty and a decent sized portion for $6.95. Prices were very good. Usually you will find mom and pops and small town lunches and dinners to be well priced compared to Cbus. Additional: I got to chatting with the owner, a middle aged Chinese lady who owns the restaurant with her sister. She's in a wheelchair and is serving tables by herself. They've owned it for about 11 years now. They come in at 8:00 am every day to cut vegetables and stay until 11:00 pm or midnight, 6 days a week. (Closed Sunday to have a day for family she said). Man, sounds like a hard life but you could tell she was very proud of her restaurant and isn't afraid to put in the hours and do the hard work to make her business a success. Just another reason why I love to support small businesses.

The service here is horrific!! We waited for an hour just to get our check and our waitress forgot half of our order. We got there at 6:30 and didn't leave until 9!! When we walked in no one greeted us (even though a waitress walked by us three times and clearly saw us) and we just had to stand there until I asked someone if we were supposed to be seated or of we could seat anywhere.

Bamboo House is a Circleville classic. Been there as long as I can remember [okay, I'm not that old but still], so props to it, since family owned businesses generally have a hard time here. The food is just your average Americanized Chinese, but it's good quality, and there is always great service. CHECK IT.
