The food is fabulous, although a bit eclectic. They do everything well: Italian and Asian. The only downside is that service is a bit slow. Great place for a long dinner, but not if you're trying to make it to an event on time. The outdoor patio is very charming and is relatively shaded in its spot, tucked between two buildings. It is great that the community of Cheviot has a place like this!

Went here for Sunday brunch. Awesome food and service. Includes a fully loaded coffee bar complete with regular or chocolate creamer. The executive chef came to our table twice to make sure we were doing okay. The atmosphere is very laid back and cozy, it's like visiting a friend's home. I was only here once but I am totally in love with this place. I'm looking forward to going back. I can't wait to try the sushi bar. They are also byob!

Chef Vitor is a true artist with his craft, one of the best in Cincinnati! My finace and myself enjoy our special occasions here because of the amazing food, atmosphere, and service. A must try for anyone in Cincinnat!!!

Absolutely delicious. Personal visit from the chef who has good stories. I recommend the Dutch Apple egg rolls, the risotto and absolutely the fried Mac and cheese with crab reduction. The service was a little lax but the restaurant was slow.

Only one word can describe this place, AMAZING! From the food to the people it is great to be around this place. Vitor and his wife are two of the nicest and down to earth restaurant owners I've ever encounter. He makes you feel at home and will talk to you about the menu and options he has. The food is fantastic! Every bite is a delight. There sushi is very creative and has the right ratio of rice to filling. There meats are always super tender and who can say no to french toast for dessert!? If you want to eat something good and different I would totally recommned this place!

We love Vitors for many reasons - the fresh local sourcing, gorgeous patio BYOB intimate atmosphere for gourmet dinner and rocking brunch menu!

This is one of the gems of the west side of Cincinnati. BYOB and I always get the course meals. The French toast is out of this world! ...But it comes as the dessert course. Chef Vitor comes to the table and really makes you feel welcomed. I had a birthday party here and we go for sushi occasionally. It's a great place for groups. I'd recommend brunch with the family or out of town guest. There's seating outside and from the outside doesn't even look like much but once inside it turns into a fine dining experience. It's my go to place for a quality meal and a fair price without having to go down town or to the east side. I'd recommend this for anyone looking for a different fine dining experience.

If i could give it 6 stars i would. My family had an amazing dinner at Vitor's. We arrived thinking we were having sushi & although sadly the chef was sick the host boy convinced us to stay indicating that i could have French Toast for dessert! Who is going to reject that offer! We did & indeed had a delicious dinner. My mom ordered the Avocado Club Sandwich with Parmesan Garlic fries. The Avocado spread was perfectly smooth & not overpowering & the fries where so deliciously crunchy on the outside soft on the inside that my 3yr old almost ate them all. I ordered the Cuban Sandwhich & you will think that is just like any cuban sandwich but it was not & that is extremely exiting to an island girl in Cincinnati like me. It had this little spicy kick that made it very different & the port was slow roasted to melt on your mouth. They also used the RIGHT bread. One that was crunchy on the outside & softer on the inside. I paired it with Truffles Oil & Bacon fries that my 3yr old almost ate by herself too!!! We finished everything with a delicious French Toast alongside with Vitor & his wife Heather themselves! It was a fantastic evening, fantastic food & we will be coming back next week to try their sushi. We cant wait for the Food Truck to show up downtown next month!!

We celebrated our 5 yr anniversary at Vitor's last night. We went with the 5 course chef's choice and we're not disappointed. Excellent food. Quaint atmosphere. Friendly staff. And personable, engaged chef. Definitely recommend.

Delicious brunch!!! Best Cuban sandwich in the city! Owner is very friendly & made us feel right at home!

After perusing the online menus, I figured that brunch was my best bet as a vegetarian. After placing our order, we were directed to "help ourselves to the coffee bar." We normally would not have ordered coffee, but we decided to sample a couple of flavors at what we thought was a complimentary bar after this decidedly ambiguous statement. Of course, the bill later revealed that there was a charge of $3+ per person. That clouded our experience a little bit, as I would think that the servers should state this more clearly. I at first thought it was a nice little perk to offer a complimentary coffee bar, but oh, well. I had heard good things about the Fresh Hot Donuts, so we started with them. They pair perfectly with the creme brulee dipping sauce. I had also heard good things about the Unforgettable French Toast, so I had to try that. My husband had the Mediterranean Frittata. The food was good, but I feel like it was over-priced and I probably wouldn't return. I was just perusing their menu online, and I also see that there is a Split Plate Fee of $1.95. This is one of my biggest pet peeves - I find it ridiculous when restaurants charge a fee for you to share your food. This didn't personally impact me during this visit, but it's another pricing/business practice I don't love

Well, we had been wanting to try this place out for a while. The West side doesn't really have what anyone would call "fine dining", so we wanted to give it a go. We went in on a Sunday for dinner and we were the only two there... It still took a while to seat us, get us water and menus. No one offered us anything to drink, no waiters came by, the sushi chef was really the only one who interacted with us throughout the meal.

My favorite meal of Anniversary Weekend would have to be brunch at Vitor's. And we had The Precinct the night before, so that's how good it was. I know. It was only our second anniversary and we really made a big deal out of it. But we originally planned on going out of town, so we decided that we would stay in town and simply make a weekend of it. And that we did! Saturday started off with Vitor's, which I had heard so many great things about. We made reservations for noon, but after waking up early Saturday morning, we decided to head in and cancel our reservation. The restaurant was not crowded at all around 9:30am, and we decided on having the coffee bar. It was there I got to speak to who I presume was the owner, and who was extremely friendly. Our server was great, too, and when we sat back down, he suggested we try the Fresh Hot Donuts with crème brulee dipping sauce. Yes and yes! We followed our fantastic starter with His and Hers breakfast dishes: Unforgettable French Toast (two pieces of Texas Toast drenched in vanilla cocoa bean batter rolled in Frosted Flakes®. Topped with a Crème Brulee pastry cream, bananas, and whipped cream) and Breakfast Lasagna (Sausage, bacon, eggs, peppers, onions, ricotta mozzarella cheeses layered between fried pasta sheets topped with spicy hollandaise) respectively. We split a side of goetta, too, and it was good, but we could have easily gone without. Thoughts? The French Toast was amazing. Truly Unforgettable, as it lived up to its namesake. The Breakfast Lasagna was outstanding, too, and it even reheated well! I was extremely impressed with our dining experience at Vitor's and, even though it wasn't cheap, it was entirely worth it. And upon doing a lot of raving about the food to some friends, two people I know went the next day. They both loved it, too!

One of my favorite places to go for brunch. I always enjoy starting out with the coffee bar consisting of several offerings of flavors and creams. I really love this place!
(4)Nick C.
We didn't have very good service when we went and the food wasn't particularly good either.
(3)Maggie B.
More of a 2.5 sadly. We were really exited to try this place and were let down. We went on a Sunday Evening to try the half price sushi bar. We were literally the only ones in the restaurant and it was awkward. The staff was making their own dinner and milling about the place. It gave a weird vibe. The sushi chef was a little too familiar telling us when he had to come in that morning and they he just got up from a nap in his car. The sushi was interesting. The rolls were imaginative. But all of the rolls were a bit much as far as ingredients and they were very heavy handed with everything from the rice to the sauce. For me the beauty of sushi is in the subtlety and Artful execution and that was what was lacking. We tried a number of different rolls. Most of them were not focused on fish which is also odd for me when it comes to sushi. The steak ones were flavorful and the shrimp was fried fresh. The Crunch Crunch roll was good; the wasabi peas were an interesting topping. They add a 20% gratuity automatically to the original price of the sushi rolls. We usually tip well and I am not thrilled about people deciding what to tip for me. Especially when the do half price sushi a good deal of the time and the experience wasn't so stellar. I have heard the regular food is much better but I'm not sure we will go out of our way to find out.

I will not lie. Things with Vitor's started off rocky to say the least. We had purchased a Groupon a year earlier for a five course meal for two and had a lot of trouble using it. For started the Groupon was only good for Sun-Thursday and we had no idea the restaurant was closed Mon and Tues and the Groupon was no good for brunch. Womp womp :( (Tyson chicken. Home of the farm raised fresh bird. From our table to yours) So with a sour taste in our mouth we decided to redeem the value of the Groupon, pick up a sixer for the BYOB, and take the trek to the West Side. Vitor's is located in what looks like an old home with the entrance awkwardly located on the opposite side of the parking lot. When you walk in you are greeted by the hostess (who happens to be the co-owner and wife of the chef) and a sushi bar? We were seated in the front room directly behind the hostess stand with a few other couples sprinkled throughout. Eventually the one waiter for the entire room came around and started to go over the menu with us. It's been about a month since we visited and I still can't decide how I feel about him. Slightly odd but very nice. You could tell he struggled with the menu a little bit but at the same time was trying hard. His black shirt had the first few buttons undone and he probably could have used an iron or a steamer but that's OK. (Mercy Health. Come on in and get checked out) The Groupon was good for $70 or so and the waiter described the option of a 5 course meal for the price of the 4 with the wild card thrown in of the entire meal will be a surprise, Chef's choice. I some times go commando so I'm down for a little adventure and so was the lady friend. BEST CHOICE OF THE NIGHT. What this place may lack in atmosphere and wait staff it completely redeems itself with its food. Course after course was absolutely amazing. The chef came out on a few occasions to work the room and ask how things were going and I did the usual nod and wave the first time but the second time he deserved something more. The second time around we made sure he knew the food was delicious and some of the best we had in Cincinnati. By the time dessert rolled around we were stuffed but when the chocolate carmel french toast rolled out I foodgasmed and shoveled it in. After I gave myself an extra dose of insulin we settled up the tab (surprise corking fee) and left fulfilled. That sour taste we walked in with was a distant memory. The food coma had set in. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it. Their brunch is supposed to be the ish, we will be back. Oh and if you were wondering what the weird commercials interjected into the review were that's pretty much how dinner went. Please pay for Pandora or Spotify or whatever. No one wants to hear commercials while they are eating their Autumn Pork Medallions.

Vitor & staff are incredible, their Sunday brunch is one of the best! We love Vitor's Bisto & highly recommend them for any time of day, it's very cozy inside, so now is the time!

I have been to Vitor's twice in the last year and a half, once for dinner and another an attempt at brunch. Both times have been disappointing. The best thing I did today was walk out of this restaurant before spending any money. My boyfriend and I waited ten minutes to be seated in a nearly empty restaurant. During that time the hostess and waitstaff did not aknowledge us at all. They walked by us. Answered a phone. Talked to each other. But never said, "Hello." After being seated, still no communication. Just menus and a grimace. Actually, there was communication: it was obvious we were not welcome. Vitor's menu and prices are a joke when compared to other brunch destinations all over the city. The "coffee bar" is tacky and was littered with dirty mugs and flies. I tried to give Vitor's a second chance but couldn't make myself stay after the ten minute wait, rude waitstaff, and dirty coffee bar. I am totally baffled by the stellar reviews. Westwood deserves better!

Disappointing. So I ordered the french toast after seeing all the rave reviews.. it was so heavy and just okay in my opinion. This place was so loud I couldn't hear myself think and there wasn't even that many ppl in the restaurant. There seemed to only be one waitress on duty and service was extremely slow. Then the AC kicked on and had me freezing. From start to finish I couldn't wait to just pay my bill and get out as quickly as I could.

Vitor has made this sushi hater into a sushi lover. I've never been a sushi fan because it's too gooey, the rice is too sticky and gross and the fish is too mushy. (I realize I sound like a 4 year old whining about peas or something.) But none of that is an issue a Vitor's. I mean, I was practically drooling as he kept bringing out rolls. I didn't get a taste of the Wild Mushroom Roll, but you better believe I'm heading back there soon. And then there was the french toast. OMG. Words don't do it justice. Just go eat it. + the patio is dog friendly But Vitor is what makes the place so great. Not only is he an incredible chef, but you can tell he loves what he does. And he loves Westwood. And because I love his food, I am resolving to explore Westwood and the West side of town.

After many evenings dining at Vitor's, we finally made it to a brunch! food was incredible as always.

They told us to wait for around 20min, and it's actually around 45min. But it's good that they have nice waiting area. We ordered chef's choice... And it seems to be a bad idea. The soup was fine, the entree was too much, and the dessert was too sweet. Completely not delicious for me.

This was the first time being here and even though I did not like the parking situation. Spots are very scarce. But the decor was nice and the food was very flavorful and a nice presentation. I read the reviews about the incredible french toast and the name does not dissapoint! The frosted flakes crust layered with creme brulee pudding, with bannanas and whip cream...oooooooohhhhh(in my homer simpson voice!) i also had a nice cheesy omelet that had cream cheese in it. The menu is innovative and different. I would recommend that you make reservations thought.

This was the BEST brunch I have ever had! My friend and I went to celebrate my birthday while I was visiting her in Cincinnati. The brunch was a three-course special, we ordered an appetizer and opened a bottle of champagne that was brought in from outside to make mimosas with a craft of juice. The wait staff was exceptional - we were waited on by one of the chefs who was able to "sell us" on getting the three course special. (I must add, we were VERY glad to be sold!) He explained each of the courses with finesse and detail, answering all of our questions and kindly bringing all of our food hot and beautifully plated. We couldn't resist the doughnuts as an appetizer - sugar glazed and freshly fried with a creme brulee dipping sauce. First course was a southwest inspired crepe filled with eggs/sausage and drizzled with a zesty sauce and southwest seasoned corn. Second course was two fried biscuits beneath an egg over-medium with a decadent cheese smothered throughout, served in a bowl with peppers, onions, and farm fresh sausage. We reached the point of physical pain, unable to bring this glorious feast to our faces to consume any more. Then they brought out the third course; the Famous French toast, dipped in a vanilla sauce, covered in ground frosted-flakes, fried, and served beneath more creme brulee, bananas and (of course) whipped cream. Needless to say, we unbuttoned our britches, took one bite, and couldn't stop ourselves from devouring the rest. The french toast was absolutely succulent, crisp, and sweet while not so rich that it was unable to be consumed. Our waiter directed us to a convenience store across the street when we inquired about champagne for mimosas. Two warnings: 1) The neighborhood is not the nicest - while initially driving through I was sure our GPS had failed us until we finally spotted the restaurant. I wouldn't have ventured into the convenience store across the street if it was later in the evening. 2) The BYOB aspect of this restaurant does come with a fee of $12.00/bottle. I've read a lot of complaints about this on Yelp, which blows my mind a bit. Granted, I am from Maryland/DC and a three course gourmet meal (for two) with appetizer, craft of orange juice and bottle of champagne would have run well over the $75.00 our bill totaled. Each of the courses was enough to be considered a meal in itself where I am from, and restaurants could have gotten away with easily charging $20.00/plate for any of them.

The absolute BEST experience I've had at a restaurant. My friend and I walked in 30 mins before they closed (it was our first visit and I wanted sushi). They were more than appreciative to have us! Since my friend never had sushi, Marcus had given her "safe" recommendations. Half way through our meal the owner Vitor came out introduced himself and his wife shook our hands and we had a nice chat about his business. After we left my friend was ecstatic that we had gone and we plan to be regulars! (Before, I had to twist her arm just to get her through the door! She was so excited I did) All in all I recommend this place to anyone and everyone! And I can't wait to go back for brunch :) French toast, here i come!

We had the tasting menu for my 40th birthday. We brought the girls and they loved it too. They made a custom sushi roll for my seven year old. They made special chicken and fries for my two year. Our server was wonderful. The restaurant was clean, well appointed, and classically performed current hit music playing softly. Always a wonderful experience. I suggest making this a regular dining experience.

Visited Vitor's as part of a rehearsal brunch and left quite impressed. Vitor's Bistro resides in the hodgepodge labyrinth of a centuries old home that looks like something out of the wizarding world of Harry Potter. Reminded me of an old school coffee house which was fitting. I loved the coffee bar which included a Pumpkin Spice, Creme Brulee, and Jazz Trio option among others. Chocolate and Vanilla creamer was also a nice addition. Brunch began with some super-sweet OJ that was right up my alley, as well as a plate of sugar sprinkled doughnut-esque pastries with dipping cream. We were provided with a limited menu for our party. We were informed by the chef that the Breakfast Duo was the most popular item - a combination plate of Vitor's award-winning French Toast paired with a made to order omelette. Personally, I went with the Mocha French Toast. I really enjoyed it, but felt it is important to note that it does not come with the fresh banana that is used in the traditional French Toast. My date ordered a seasonal menu item - Pumpkin Crepes. Our chef informed us that the pumpkins come fresh from the garden and are not canned. While I loved the idea of this dish and many people loved the execution, I thought the pumpkin flavor didn't pop and that the pumpkin was perhaps not quite ripe enough, as the crepe contents were chunky, as opposed to the mushy pumpkin I was expecting. Perhaps this was intended, but I was hoping for something that tasted a bit more like Pumpkin Pie. I think they may be overdoing creme. Creme seemed to be in everything and I think we were all a little cremed-out by lunchtime. I had to take a few hours to recover from my meal. All together this was a great outing. The servers were very accommodating, the location is quaint, wonderful, and not a chain. I did want to straighten all the pictures on the wall, but that's a choice...

After narrowing down our anniversary date to a brunch, I chose Vitor's Bistro. The food was the star of the afternoon. Between the 4 of us we had a large sampling of their brunch menu. Breakfast Eggrolls, Breakfast Lasanga, Unforgettable French Toast, Thai Egg Bowl, House Seasoned Potatoes, and one of their specials, Pumkin Crepes. All of it was delicious. I especially loved the crepes. Like several Yelpers mentioned, the chef came out and asked about our meal, which was a nice touch. Everything else about this place left a bit to be desired for me. The coffee bar is a cute idea that is poorly executed. Most of the creamers were near empty when we arrived at 1:30. We had a reservation and arrived about 10 minutes early and had to wait for our table to be set even though it was only us and another party in the restuarant. The servers were friendly in a way that I'd like my server to be a sports bar. Chatty and singing while they work, isn't bad, but kind of detracts from the atmosphere of a romantic "upscale" ambience they advertise. The main issue was their relunctance to split the check according to plate. We were a table of 2 couples, and we explained when we ordered that we would like it split 2 and 2. When the bill came it was all on one ticket. So we asked that it be split and she offered to divide it right down the middle. When we explained we'd each rather pay for what we ordered respectively, she said they don't normally like to do that. After asking a few more times, she finally did allow us to split it, but clearly it was a favor to us. While I appreciate it, I don't understand why this is even an issue or why it wasn't explained in the beginning when we told her how we were paying. All in all I will be back for the food. But I'll leave it off my list of date night locations and leave the heels at home.

Way overpriced for what it is... My friends and I decided to try Victor's for brunch. We knew it is BYOB, so we each brought a bottle of wine and we figured we'd each take the rest home if we didn't finish our respective bottles. It was not crowded and the servers seemed very nice. We started with homemade donuts, which were tasty. I ordered the Mediterranean frittata, which looked more like an egg pancake (i.e., flat) than a frittata. One of my friends ordered the omelette with no cream cheese, and lo and behold, she had to scrape out the cream cheese. This was after the server mixed up the 2 omelette orders at the table. While we were ordering, I told the server we would like separate checks. She gave me a look, but didn't say anything. When she brought the check, she said she divided the checks up, even though it wasn't their policy, because they weren't that busy. She said "Our job is to wait on you, not you wait on us." Huh. Then when we looked at the checks, they added on $12 (TWELVE DOLLARS!) to each check for corkage fee. If they had mentioned the exorbitant fee when we sat down, we would not have each opened a bottle. We would have shared 2 or 3. Most of the bottles didn't even have corks. Basically, the restaurant made $60 off our table for bringing out wine glasses. So I spent $28 for a mediocre frittata. Will not be going back and will tell my friends not to eat here either.

I've eaten here several times when visiting in town but won't be back. On my last visit the food was good, as usual, but it took an extremely long time to arrive, and the staff's attitude was baffling. We wanted to sit outside, but they refused. Why have outdoor seating if you refuse to let customers use it? On a weekend night only two other tables were occupied. I can see why, when there's a very long wait for food, a small piece of fish costs $32, loud canned music interferes with conversation, there's no liquor license, and the underworked employees care more about their own convenience than serving customers. I had planned to take relatives to brunch here, but instead we'll go someplace that wants to stay in business.

I was eager to try this place after reading all the great reviews. I was especially looking forward to this french toast that I had been reading about. I got there and was helped immediately by a frazzled appearing hostess who had to make up a table for me. Unforetunately, the restaurant was half filled by a noisy obnoxious family with five or six kids and five adults apparently not watching any of them. Side note: honestly, if you take your kids out in public have some consideration for the other people in the establishment. I don't blame the restaurant fro their bad behavior, but it killed the experience for me; listening to kids screaming and yelling while one of the mothers argued with the waitress about the bill. After being seated, I waited quite a bit to be acknowledged. THe lone waitress initially asked me if I wanted some OJ. I asked for coffee and was promptly directed to serve myself at the coffee bar. Sounds great right...except that I was faced with several carafes of lukewarm coffee. The dads from the huge family party made it a point of standing right in front of the area so it was hard to get my coffee. I sat back waited...and waited...and waited, getting a little more than teed off at those loud ass kids. Finally I asked the hostess if I could order and was told I would have to wait for the lone waitress. Few more minutes pass as I contemplate leaving, and she comes over, takes my order, and ten minutes later I have my food. I ordered the breakfast duo. The food was okay. The french toast could have done with more fruit and less sauce. The gourmet omelet was ok. Honestly, my favorite part of brunch was when the large party left and the staff could focus more on the remaining customers. FOr the price, I wish the service had been better and I wish that the staff had taken control of the environment instead of having that large party effectively ruin everyone's meal. My only other recommendation is to get rid of the "coffee bar". totally cheapened the experience will give it another chance in the future
(2)Katie U.
I went for brunch - never there for dinner. The menu is huge and impressive. A nice variety of unique items - including very sweet items, low carb options, and vegetarian items. My friends and I got different items and we all loved what we got. They all had great flavor and were things you wouldn't get elsewhere. I got an omelet and it had amazing, unique flavor. My friends also enjoyed the coffee bar. It's a cute older building with character. The patio looked like a great place to pass the evening - shaded and quaint - but it wasn't open when we were there. The items aren't cheap, but they aren't unreasonable and you get a lot of food - and again it's unique and high quality.

We came here for some late night sushi. When you are walking in from the outside you would not think that this restaurant offers sushi. They have signs stating they do but the way they are displayed makes you think that it is a separate restaurant. In some ways it kind of is separate. When we walked in, around 8 o'clock, the hostess asked us if we had any reservations. We said we didn't but could see from the 10 or so tables that were available in the front that they were not very busy. We let her know that we just wanted to sit at the sushi bar. She asked us to sit toward the edges as to leave space for potential guests. (6-7 bar stool seating) We cooperated. Maybe this place is usually hoppin and perhaps she was doing what she was trained to do but it just felt like we were not welcome here because we did not have a reservation. If it had been busy I would of understood but we were one party of a few that were there that night. So we sat at the sushi bar and was serviced by a very friendly gentlemen. He was conversational and knowledgeable of the restaurant and its menu. I had the gyoza and a few rolls. The gyoza was ok but the sushi was exceptional. For a place in Cincinnati I would recommend this restaurant as one of the few sushi options available. This place is a BYOB

This is an amazing dining experience! We had a large group of people (11) and it was a celebration and it could not have been better. The food was absolutely perfect. The chef/owner and his wife are very nice and they work very hard to make sure that you enjoy and savor every minute of the experience. I can't recommend this place strongly enough!!!

I've heard great things about Vitor's, so I was very excited to go. However, I've only heard good things about the breakfast/brunch menu, so I'm sad to say my dinner experience was sub-par. To start, the lighting in there is too bright for the ambiance they're aiming for. I would have liked some dimmed lighting for a more intimate restaurant, but every light seemed to be shining brightly. We ordered the 5 course meal (via Groupon) and overall, the food good but I was a bit surprised that there didn't seem to be a continuous theme or progession in flavors for the courses. Also, surprisingly, the dessert was the largest dish out of everything that was served, however, needless to say, each individual dish was pretty good. I'm hoping to go back another time for the famous brunch that people have raved about, but in terms of dinner, it wasn't what I was expecting.

Vitor's Bistro was a very pleasant surprise in an otherwise gloomy West side this morning, and honestly after having their food, I think if this place were downtown it would have a line around the corner to to get in every weekend. To start off the building is very quaint. I love that. The character of the building is very warm and inviting. There is a Parisian theme all throughout the restaurant and even light jazz playing in the background. The tables are beautifully dressed, and the mood even for breakfast just made you feel relaxed, and like you were in a far off land. The food, OH my wow, the food. We visited this place as a part of Yelp breakfast club and I actually would prefer not to tell them we were dining, much less that I was the community manager. But somehow it leaked. But from an honest standpoint, I think the food was incredible either way and I can't wait to try dinner. I ordered a simple breakfast eggs, sausage, fruit, toast. I ordered my eggs over medium and they came out over easy, which I knew was going to happen. Although this was annoying, this is when you can tell a good restaurant from a bad one. The waiter acknowledged the mistake, and the chef was happy to bring out my eggs with a smile on his face. I just love that. If you have enough passion about your food and making the customer happy then that is the sign of a business that is going to go far. (PS when the eggs came back they were absolutely perfect and delicious!)\ The waitstaff was incredible at handling our group, and I don't just shell out 5 star reviews but this place gets bumped up for service. The food was delicious, but ultimately service and friendliness is what will keep me coming back. A place on the west side that I will actually drive back too? Give yourself a gold star ;)

Breakfast Club gone fancy: So we had a couple of suggestions from our Westsiders to check out Vitor's Bistro...seriously...we have to drive the WEST side? (o no, Cincinnati favoritism is starting to seep into my veins) BUT im so glad we did!! Im not sure what was the best part, so I will start with the tastiest...Food. Vitor's is known for their french toast and man, rightfully so! I had the mocha french toast and it was crunchy toasty on the outside and super soft and delish on the inside, it came with a fruit cup that had fresh fruit that was exotic by fruit cup standards. My table mates ranged from omelets and other french toast offerings to goetta and eggs. You know when the group turns silent...the food is pretty good! Another perk, was a self serve coffee bar lined with different brews and fixings, no need to bother the waitress, great idea! O, who could forget mimosas and bloody mary's! Speaking of the service...AMAZING! We showed up with a fairly large group, un announced (completely my fault) and they showered us with attention and any question or need was met. The chef, I believe Vitor himself, came out to see how we were doing...who does that for breakfast service?! No messy check situations and 13 happy bellies were filled. I will definitely be back for dinner service and in the warmer months to sit on the patio! Check it out!

I Pass by this place often and always wanted to stop in. Finally made it for Sunday brunch and... Omg!, it was absolutely amazing! Started with the homemade donuts which melt in your mouth! Then had the breakfast duo, which tasted even better than it looked. Service was friendly, fast, and efficient! Top notch experience and am going to go back to try the dinner menu.

I'm really surprised I haven't reviewed Vitor's yet. One of my friends from college suggested we meet here for brunch and it was amazing! Parking is a little tricky (as it often is in the area) but the dining experience is well worth the parking hassle. I would highly recommend ordering a chef's course as we did. We have a bit of a picky group (I am not a fan of seafood, a friend is not a fan of pork, another friend is a vegetarian, etc) and we were very impressed with the courses selected for us. Each dish is gorgeous and delicious and totally worth the calories. We had hot donuts (yum), a special that had chicken sass and spice (not sure what it was called), a creative take on eggs Benedict (stroganoff, seafood, etc) and the amazing French Toast. The copious coffee also makes it a great place for brunch. Service is excellent and the chef is very personable. We plan on meeting here again and having a larger group event here as well. This would be an awesome place to take out of town company as well.

This is the best breakfast in Cincinnati. Best things on the menu are omelets, fresh made doughnuts, and the french toast. The French Toast will be the best French toast you will ever have.

We went for brunch on Sunday because everyone wanted to try the french toast which is battered in frosted flakes with a creme brulee topping. It was delicious, but not what I got. I tasted theirs, and had a delicious omelot filled with berries. I've never had a fruit filled omelot before and was curious. I think their french toast was better, but being kind of a health nut I wouldn't make a meal of it. So I figure I had the best of both. A taste of yummy french toast but a meal of healthier fruit, Besides the food- I loved the atmosphere. It reminded me a a little French cafe (not that I've been to France) and found it all very relaxing on a Sunday morning.

I would eat here all the time given this menu. It all looks so good and interesring.

The. Food. Is. Amazing We ordered the 3 course brunch, leaving our fate up to the chef. Each course was outstanding, the highlight being the french toast at the end. So tasty. We also loved the coffee bar which offers several different types of roasts and flavors. My one BIG recommendation is that Vitor's list on their web site (prominently) that they no longer have a liquor license. Personal details aside, I had a devastating weekend and it was my birthday - all I wanted was a mimosa and my boyfriend specifically made reservations at Vitor's so that I could have that. When the waiter informed us that they no longer had a liquor licence, I kid you not, I shot the waiter the DIRTIEST look I could muster (embarrassing to think about now) and may have even teared up a bit. Anyways, drama aside, please make this public knowledge. Our 20 minute wait between courses didn't really help either. But otherwise, great food!

Came here a few weeks ago for brunch in the afternoon. I was walking in from the patio and had to flag a server down about where I should sit and they showed me to a table. I was greeted by a server after about 7 minutes and he told me the specials and then another server came to take my order after 5 minutes. I came here for the French Toast and thus I ordered it, it was very good, it seems every review mentions it. It also seems like this restaurant loves Creme Brulee flavor as the coffee bar had creme brulee coffee, the french toast had a creme brulee cream and a few other things also had it. I would like to come back for dinner and see how everything is.

I believe that the great kinds of foods takes you back to your best childhood days. When world was simple and beautiful. When a simple snack made by mom with banana and shortening seems like heaven. I was taken back to that heaven when i tasted the french toast at Vitor's. The french toast here is said to be the best of Cincinnati, and it is no hyperbole. It was toasty and crunchy on the outside, and soft and delicious on the inside. It had a pastry cream over it which was just the right amount of sweetness. I always thought the french toast would be too sweet for my breakfast, so i had ordered a breakfast duo - a half order of french toast and an omelette, choosing ham,red onions, spinach, and broccoli. It was a very balanced meal, with the french toast being not too sweet really, and the omelette providing a savory complement.I had the french toast all by myself, much to the surprise of my wife who accompanied me in my adventure. She had a crepe of the day, which was also very tasty. My next guests, this would be one place I would take you to.

This place is a must. They have the best French toast that I've tasted. Their "Unforgettable French Toast" is 2 fat slices of bread soaked in a Frosted Flakes filled batter flavored with vanilla and chocolate. Then they top that with a creme brule pastry shell, bananas and whip cream. Whoa! Seriously, you gotta try this.

I went to Vitor's Bistro after trying to find Cincinnati's best breakfast spots. I'm talking spots so good that I can't believe I've lived this long without them ... and that's when I came across the French Toast. This French Toast was voted one of the best meals in the city. Its two pieces of Texas toast drenched vanilla bean cocoa batter and rolled around in crunched up Frosted Flaked. It's then topped with Crème Brulee cream, bananas and whipped cream. It even comes with a cup of fruit. Dear god, friends, it was delicious. Not nearly as sweet as that whole paragraph makes it sound out (I was expecting a sugar rush from every bite but it was not coming. The toast helps balance out a lot of the sweet.) This is how I knew it was amazing though - I always need syrup for my French Toast. No matter how much butter or cream or jam or whatever they want to put on it, my meal is not complete without syrup ... Here, I needed no syrup. It was perfect just as it was. Mmm... I was really impressed with the food here. I also got the breakfast eggrolls as a starter to share with the table, and those were, as they said on the menu, "unlike anything I'd ever tried." They were all the breakfast foods - eggs, sausage, peppers, etc - served in a fried won-ton wrap with breakfast aioli as a side. Amazing! Mmm again... There was also fresh squeezed orange juice (win) and a serve-yourself coffee bar (double win!) This place is tucked away on the west side and you'd really never know it was there if you weren't looking for it. They have a sign outside but it's small and the restaurant is located next to an abandoned and decrepit red building. Still, it's a lovely eatery, decorated in a cool casual kind of way that I really enjoyed. Plus, free parking in the back. Nice indeed. Now, here's where they dipped - the service. The food was amazing, but everything else was ... hmmm. It started when we were put at an awkwardly long table that was shoved up against the window with a giant pipe attached to it. I asked to move it away from the wall, as I was feeling a bit claustrophobic and they did ... only it turned out that it was that close to the window, because the legs were off and the table massively wobbled (a thing we found out when I shifted a bit and almost had a glass of water fall into my lap.) When I commented on it, the waiter tried to push the table back again the wall, bringing up the claustrophobic bit again! Gah. I asked if we could be moved to a new table and we were. And then the meals ... this is not a quickly served place. When we sat down, we watched as a family angrily stormed out because it had been an hour and they had nothing to eat. Ours didn't take nearly that long, but it did take a while. Luckily, it was a lazy Sunday afternoon and I had nowhere to be. I was enjoying the company I was with and the food when it came was delicious. The waiter was very nice though and checked on us frequently. I'm still giving this spot four stars. Good parking, amazing food, a hidden gem of a location - just know what you're getting into when you sit down.

Every time I go to Vitor's it is truly an experience. The food is exceptional and the service is always amazing. The brunch is great. I had the omelette and the cream cheese in it takes it to the next level. The flavor is great and it is so hearty. The French toast is unlike anything I've ever had. It really is unforgettable. The five course dinner experience is just as amazing. Every course was so unique and full of flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I had heard about this West Side classic as one of the top places to check out for brunch and I finally got over here on a recent Saturday. My party got there before me so I didn't have to wait long to sit and we relaxed with our menus in a secluded foyer with serve yourself coffee from the bar. The self serve coffee comes in the more traditional house blend and ranges to caramel-chocolate and chocolate raspberry with chocolate cream. The menu is southern inspired with crepes, homemade donuts with creme brulee sauce, and a heavy hand on the fryer. I had the seafood crepes and they were rich and delicious...too much for one sitting....especially after donuts and french toast appetizers. This is a brunch that will stick with you. The building is a quaint setting from the mid 1800's with original slate floor that gives the whole place a rustic, comfortable feel. Street parking and a small lot out back make this an easy place to get to, for the west side.

Had brunch today for the first time and this great place. They have a new menu and it's totally worth checking out. Our table had the Cajun omelette, a ribeye burger with Parmesan fries, the breakfast lasagna, and eggs Benedict (I think!) and everyone loved their meal. The coffee bar was great and service was very nice. It was a little cold in the building but with wild temp swings outside in an old building, it's not terribly surprising. Totally recommend this place and will be back.

Disclaimer: I made a poor menu choice. Really poor. So I'm sure that has colored my review. I'll update after a few more trips. To get it out of the way, I got the chef's special that morning, which was a fruit and cheese omelette. The waitress actually warned me against it (yes, really), but I didn't heed that warning. My mistake. Perhaps my palette is unrefined, but I just did not "get" it. Luckily my wife had ordered the French Toast. She loved it, and I enjoyed my bites from it as well. Another highlight was the donut holes. They are a perfect appetizer with a delicious dipping sauce. A must get! I was disappointed by the slow service. It seemed like we were always waiting for something. With such a small place, I expected more attentive service. Another oddity is the parking lot. It's like a gravel no man's land back there. Pick out a spot and hope for the best. I definitely want to give Vitor's another shot, but it's not high on my list at the moment.

The lack of organization and competent service has been on full display the two times I've visited. The first time was 18 months ago on a fixed course dinner deal that was upsettingly bad; gave Sunday brunch a go today just to see... Oh man. The stats: 10 minutes to be ACKNOWLEDGED, 15 to be seated mutely and no one ever said hi or greeted us at any point. While waiting for a server to arrive, my girlfriend went to help herself to the coffee bar and was grossed out by sitting half-cleaned mugs, flies and empty carafes. When she returned to our table we still debated for another few minutes before walking out. No server. I won't say Vitor's hates their customers, but I haven't sat down there yet without feeling personal shame for my choice and subsequent tolerance. At least today, only time and no money was wasted. To qualify my one star: their food is not terrible, their space isn't terrible, but the gawd awful service coupled with 4:20-high price points have me thinking really hard about a bigger dining rip-off in town and I keep coming up empty.

I had both a good and bad experience with Vitor's. The french toast was indeed amazing. It was moist yet crunchy and was not as sweet as I anticipated (which to me was a good thing). Overall it was a taste party in my mouth. Now for the not so great part. My friend ordered an omelet and as he was halfway through it he pulled out a long black hair (which in no way could have belonged to anyone at the table). Granted, sometimes these things happen but it definitely put a damper on the experience. We parked in the lot behind the restaurant and when we arrived and when we left the staff (chefs included) were all standing out back smoking. Overall it's just something that I prefer not to see on my way into a restaurant. My husband and I both got the french toast and he added sausage and coffee and the total was around $23. Even though it was super tasty, given the other not so pleasant circumstances I'm not sure I would return.

Went to Vitor's on a Friday evening for dinner and had an okay experience. The service is beyond slow....very nice...but wow is it slow. There were only five tables of people when we walked in and it took 15 mins before our waitress stopped by to uncork - it is BYOB- our wine. The hostess stopped by twice to let us know our waitress was slammed but would be with us, as soon as, she could. Both the waitress and the hostess were extremely nice but again very slow. The food - It is one of those places where every dish hits on every sensation. The Autumn salad was sweet, spicy, crunchy and mushy (mushy was the pumpkin not the lettuce) all at the same bite...not bad just a little overwhelming. Again here is were the service was slllooooowww it took 45 minutes between our salad and our main course and when it was served it was cold. We did not send it back because we had already waited so long. The main course was good but again did a little bit of everything. I don't regret trying Vitor's but it will probably not be a place I circle back to unless it is to try the brunch which seems to be very popular according to yelp.

This restaurant provides such a dilemma. The food is phenomenal and I've honestly just never been there and not had a fantastic dish. But, and here's the problem, in the 4 years we've been going there, the exact same service problems continue to plague the overall experience. Its a real testament to the quality of the food that we continue to keep going back, but then again we live very close. My concern is that people who would make the trip from other parts of town and are willing to pay the prices would not have the type of experience that would bring them back. Why is there not a hostess to greet people? Our last brunch there last month, we sat outside and in addition to ourselves having to wait an odd amount of time, we just sat and watched party after party, even ones with reservations, just awkwardly go in and out trying to figure out who to talk to and be seated. That just shouldn't be someone's first impression when walking into a restaurant. It all falls on the wait staff and that's not fair to them. I believe they're doing well and at the end of the day, what do I know, but if there was a commitment to the front of the house and the service that could rise to the level of the quality coming out of the kitchen, this would be one of the best restaurants in the city hands down.

NOTE: I went for brunch, and don't claim to know anything about dinner offerings. Pluses: Reasonable prices, quality ingredients prepared flawlessly, VERY attentive staff. Self-Serve coffee bar was clever with good offerings. Minuses: No liquor license (more about that below), location deep into the west side is a haul for many, Bohemian feel of the building might not be for everyone (though I liked it). If Mt Lookout Square and Northside had a love child, and it served brunch, this would be it. Both my friend's french toast and my goetta were cooked EXACTLY the right way, which is testimony to the skill levels in the kitchen. Indeed, this is a chef-driven restaurant rather than a business-driven business. Vitor's has recently given up its liquor license (no Bloody Mary with that brunch, pity) because, at the admission of an employee whom I will not name, "Westsiders are unwilling to pay 'extra' to be served alcohol at a modest markup, and order so little of it that the 10k worth of insurance and licensing costs was unprofitable." Instead, they have opted for corking fees for BYOB guests. If this restaurant were anywhere east of I-75, they'd certainly more than recoup their additional real estate expenses, but Vitor (the chef/owner's actual name) seems committed to his neighborhood. Don't worry--it's worth the trip, even if it means using a GPS to figure out how to navigate the journey. Also worth noting: They have a private dining room available for that group of 10 Saturday night dinner that's impossible to book in a restaurant without that amenity.
(4)Charles R.
My wife and I got groupon for five course dinner chef's choice. Everything was amazing. Two favorite things were the brussel sprouts which I usually do not like and the unforgettable French toast. Everything was delicious. Only problem was they do not serve alcohol but it is byob with a 12 dollar corkage fee and the ten dollar soda. I would come back even if we did not have groupon. Haven't tried brunch yet butt will try soon. Definitely a hidden gem in the West side not too far from Northside. Recommend people to try. Great experience for my wife and I.

This was my second trip to Vitor's Bistro and outside of the little than longer wait, I was still very impressed. I, again, ordered the "Best of Taste" French Toast and was very, very pleased. When you see it on the plate, you expect it to be very heavy and rich. While it is a rich dish, it is suprisingly light and airy. I won't go into the details of the French Toast because another reviewer has already described it. But, I will say that it is one of those dishes where you are taken back and don't want anyone talking to you while you eat it. It is definately worth the trip to the West Side, as well as the little than normal wait. If you get there earlier (by 10:00) on a Saturday morning, it isn't as crowded so the wait isn't bad. I plan to go back for lunch or dinner out on the patio. The patio looks like somtehing out of a French Cafe. They have also recently turned one of the rooms into a lounge area with leather couches, small cocktail table, and candles - great embiance. I think Chef Vitor is definately on to something!
(4)Bea D.
Vitor's is a quaint place. They shop for all the ingredients themselves, A+. At times some entrees will not be available because not enough ingredients remain for the dish. That's ok. I like the idea that my food is made with thought and without a large delivery truck backing up to the rear kitchen entrance.
(4)Rhonda D.
I ate at Vitor's for the first time this weekend with some friends for breakfast. On the one hand, it's probably good that it's not in my usual path of travel, but on the other, it's not good that it's outside my usual path of travel. The food is amazing! And thus it would be detrimental to my waistline were it close to where I work or live. We all split an order of the doughnuts. Soft, moist and the creme brulee sauce was decadent. I liked that they offered a flavored coffee. I'm not a regular coffee drinker, but something hazelnut or cinnamon vanilla flavored and I'm in. I ordered one of the day's specials, which was a steak and wild mushroom omelet. Oh. My. Goodness. It was so flavorful and the steak was incredibly tender. I did get a taste of their famous french toast. Delish!! It took a little time for our orders to arrive, despite them not being very busy. But the little bit of a wait was worth it. I definitely will be back!
(4)Charlie T.
The homemade donuts were amazing. I had a special, the Salmon Benedict. It was AMAZING. However, other than those dishes (and one being a special, I couldn't get it again), everything we have had has either been way too salted, over cooked, tasteless, or way too sweet. I wondered if the chef was tasting anything. Balance is completely off. We have given up on any entrees. We may just do donuts and a side of fruit or fries from now on. I almost went into sugar shock from their pumpkin crepes and their french toast. It was a bit much.

LOVE this place. Try it out

I think this is a 5 for the food itself and 4 because of everything else. Vitor's is an adorable restaurant (unfortunately hidden on the west side), with a cute patio and cozy house-like interior. We had a groupon for the 5 course tasting meal, which was incredibly delicious. Everything tasted great. But in real life, the price would be pretty cost-prohibitive, even for a splurge I'n not sure we could justify it. The regular menu items though, look pretty manageable for a VERY fancy night out. It was definitely a slower process, especially upon arrival when it took a long time to get seated (the hostess said hi, checked us in, and disappeared for quite some time while we were waiting for the rest of the group). Then apparently the waitress that was supposed to be serving our table was a no-show, so a bit of a wait for that to be sorted out, too. The waiter who covered us was great, though, and once we got rolling I thought timing and everything was fine. The french toast is in fact, terrific, as everyone else has already mentioned.
(4)Jenny O.
We hosted 20 people here with reservations ahead of time, and high expectations. Our expectations were met and more so. Vitor was gracious, his server Jason was excellent and so were the rest of the team. The food was served hot, well prepared and elegant. The French Toast was a hit with all the French visitors, and of course the locals. Even the east-siders were impressed.
(5)Stephanie C.
You'd easily pass Vitor's right by if you weren't looking for it, but it's in this great old building with really pretty outdoor seating. However, we did sit inside and the place just has a really great vibe, ya know? Not to mention a coffee bar! Me and the fam were there for breakfast on a Wednesday morning so it was slow and we were seated right away. My husband had the breakfast eggrolls (yeah, that's right, they have breakfast appetizers!!) and the mocha french toast and I had the 3 course breakfast which I shared with my 4 year old - which by the way fed us both (not that she eats much) and I had breakfast for the next day. The french toast, as everyone says, is ridiculous. It's so good. My husband loved it, though he wasn't all that into the sauce that comes with it. I tried it though, and thought he was nuts, it was basically awesome. Anyhow, the 3 course breakfast is a really fun idea. The chef choses what your 3 courses are going to be so you're going in blind (the server just asked my spice level and if I had any food allergies.) For an appetizer, I was served the seafood breakfast eggrolls. These were really good, though they were pretty greasy. Next I was served the french apple crepes. These come with a caramel-y sauce and the famous creme brulee cream. These were VERY good, but I will say that I have kind of a low tolerance for sugar and the combo of both sauces was pretty sweet for me. I probably wouldn't have ordered it on my own though, so I was glad to have tried it. Attention all of you manly (or womanly :-) meat eaters out there!!! The last course I received was the spicy italian omelet. I am not usually someone who orders meaty breakfasts and I definitely would not have ordered this on my own either, but it would have been a tragedy! I told the waitress "mild" for my spice level since I was sharing with my daughter so I don't know if the omelet gets spicier than the one they gave me, but it had a nice amount either way. I honestly don't know what exactly was in it, as I didn't notice it on the menu before ordering, but it was some kind of spicy ham, the eggs themselves were seasoned and spicy and some kind of delicious cheese was in there. They had so many amazing-sounding items on the menu, I can't wait to go back to try more! If you're into schmancy breakfasts (as I clearly am) then this place is definitely not to be missed. BTW - they had a lot more on their menu when we got there than they had on their website.

I can't say enough good things about Vitors! My first experience was a few weeks ago. When we arrived, the restaurant had just closed. Once chef noticed we were outside, he COMPLETELY OPENED BACK UP! He didn't treat us any differently and even came out and talked with us. I've been back THREE times in one week. Food is delectable and the service is great!
(5)Allen W.
Took my adult children and my wife here on a Saturday Morning and the food and service is impeccable. The French toast is to die for, the fruit cup was an eclectic choice of extremely fresh fruit. The serve yourself coffee bar is delicious and the Creme-Brulee coffee is a must have. I haven't had the sushi but hear it is incredible. Looking forward to my next 45 minute drive to enjoy this one of kind dining experience.
(5)Karen A.
Lunched here today. The building is so attractive - modest yet charming. Nothing Disneyfied (a la Findlay Market) or pretentious. Loved the low key, casual and comfortable interior. The host (possibly the proprietor?) was very outgoing and charismatic, nice attention to the customers around me, and to myself. The food was so delicious that I had to eat very slowly, savoring it in small bites. Truly a slow food experience. I had the seafood risotto - crab and shrimp in a creamy risotto, laden with garlic. The rice was so creamy and delicate, perfectly cooked, and the sauce made me want to do the happy mouth dance. Even the bread that came with the meal was perfect for capturing every drop of remaining sauce - perfectly tender on the inside with a nicely crisp crust. I will definitely have to go back and explore other items on the intriguingly varied menu.
(5)Martina M.
The quality of the food for the price outweighed the long wait time. I'd go back. We got the apple french crepes and the salmon asparagus cream cheese omelette. It was delicious. They need to just serve it faster and I'd give it 5 stars. The patio was really pretty, I'll go back to sit out there for lunch sometime.
(4)Kati M.
First time.reservation for 9a.m. brunch.MAYBE 6 other people total in the place including outside. Order wasn't taken for 1/2 hour. Took 20 minutes & to get our food. Again the place was practically empty. Waitress asked how food was and then walked away. It WAS HORRIBLE! A fritatta with seafood. Cold crab CHEWY shrimp and a sauce that was so? ??? It was baggy. I talked to the chef and he thanked me for my input.my bill did not reflect my dissatisfaction but I recd a card for $15.00 for the next time.don't think so!! The waitress kept asking how we liked the donut holes which tasted just like the donuts I deep fried for my kids out of biscuit dough when they where little. Not worth the money!!and then it took another 15 minutes to get our credit and receipts back. SLOW SERVICE!!
(1)Christopher S.
went here for a late breakfast. There was a nice ambiance to the place. Was worried that it would be all fancy and no substance to the place. The food was very good help yourself coffee. I had the award winning french toast b/c im from out of town and wanted to try the best. for 2 slices of toast it was pretty filling. it was covered in frosted flakes but it didnt taste wierd or overly sweet. would go back again.
(4)Angie L.
The frosted flake french toast is just a perfect experience. I also really enjoy the variety of coffee on the coffee bar they let me help myself to throughout my brunch. If this place was down the street, we'd be regulars, fifty pound heavier regulars. Delicious.

I have eaten here many times. I will say service can be slow at times but the food has always been great. And almost every time we go Chef comes out to great us personally. He always seems to willing to please. This is the place you go when you have some time like a nice lazy Sunday morning or make a evening out of it. Their dinner service is very unique. They do have some items for dinner on the menu. But for the most part they like to push for a chef's choice which is a 3, 4,5,6,7 Course meal. My wife and I went their for our anniversary. We paid for the 4 course meal but ended up getting 5 for the price of 4. Chef Vitor even ended up including some extra because he knew it was our anniversary. I will say if you do the 7 course meal plan on being there a couple of hours. But wow it was amazing. The dinner is a little on the pricey side. We spent around 100 bucks but it was worth every bit of it. My wife still talks about the lamb he made that night. My friends and I try and make a trip at least once a month for breakfast. I recommend ordering the donuts. The breakfast is a lot cheaper. Generally my wife and I can eat breakfast for around 20-25 dollars.
(4)Sarah R.
Super French toast!!! And the fresh donuts are soft and warm...sprinkled liberally with sugar! Tastiest breakfast I've had in a while!
(4)Chad E.
This place has pretty decent breakfast. The french toast I had was a tiny bit bland. The coffee selection is excellent though. And the service was great. I will probably come back the next time I'm in OH.

We have been to Vitor's twice (once was enough, but it's close to home and we thought we'd give brunch a try). My main issue with Vitor's is the ambiance. Specifically, Vitor's lack identity. It's a fine dining restaurant. It's a brunch mecca. It's a sushi bar? Actually, it's just confusing. The staff adds the the ambiance problem. While the staff is quite nice, they are a bit unprofessional. On our first visit, the waiter reeked of cigarette smoke and on our second visit we overheard the waitress discussing some of the restaurants financial issues (it was quite awkward). Also, the chef came out during our first visit and told a large group to give Vitor's good ratings on UrbanSpoon and Yelp - this doesn't seem like something that a chef at a fine dining restaurant should be doing. As for the food, my husband had the lamb during our first visit. There was barely any meat on the bones and it was over cooked. I tried the fish - the portion size was perfect, but it was incredibly boring - nothing offensive, but nothing even remotely memorable. Despite our general dislike of Vitor's food, we decided to give it a try for brunch. We tried the "famous" French Toast and one of the omelet specials. The French Toast was okay - not worth ranting and raving about, but not terrible. My hubby's omelet was pretty meh. Overall, the food is okay, but it is overpriced given the quality of the food and the ambiance is really pretty bad.

The food here deserves at least 4 stars, but the service is completely inadequate, especially for the kind of establishment Vitor's aspires to be. We waited for several minutes and had to walk through the restaurant to find someone to seat us. The place was nearly empty and there were 2 waiters (in addition to a "hostess"), but service at the table was still slow. It took another several minutes before finding someone to get the bill and another several before it was brought out. Too pricey in relation to the lack of service. And the coffee is lackluster.

I was a customer who frequented this establishment. My last two visits were less than pleasurable. I have noticed a great decline in service. This establishment has gone from slow service to near nonexistent. This past Sunday, in a not too busy setting, the server had to be waved down, asked the specials that he didn't offer, then he proceeds to tell us about missing menu items. As usual while waiting we had to chase down someone to refill the coffee dispensers. Finally he was unable to get us our food in an hour and a half. We ended up leaving without breakfast. The inability to properly wait on customers makes Vitor's a great candidate for Kitchen Nightmares.

I believe in rating on food first then the service. We went with a group of 8 for brunch this Sunday. Reservation for 12 pm. When we arrived we were seated in a back room with a couple of other groups. Coffee is self service. We got two orders of the fresh donuts which were good not great. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. Then we ordered. This was followed by waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting. Over an hour goes by and no food. Lots of coffee but no food. As one of my friends stated "If you ever want to know how long you can wait for breakfast this would be a great place". Another quote was "This would be a great place if you didn't have anywhere to be and or anything to do" The last quote I will share was "This is a great deal because you can divide the bill by the number of hours you wait and get the hourly cost of eating" Why the four stars? I think the french toast was delicious. I am not sure it is really french toast. There was none of the bad things you can think of about french toast and I may have been in starvation mode but it was yummy. In fairness we were there with 8 people which often makes getting a good meal much harder. I would recommend going but only if you don't have anywhere that you have to be and have a good attitude because you are certainly in for a wait. Good food is sometimes worth waiting for. Will I go here every week? month? NO, but I would go back.

Fantastic brunch on Sunday, I had the Frosted Flake crusted French Toast and it was absolutely amazing. Bring your own champagne and orange juice for mamosas...

If you have lots of time on your hands and are able to overlook an unknowledgable and unprepared service staff, then you can enjoy some delicious food here. Otherwise, I'd steer clear. We were looking forward to an enjoyable evening out to celebrate my wife's birthbay and were excited about a higher caliber restaurant on the West Side. In the end we were very disappointed. When we got there we learned that the chef had just shown up and our server didn't know what the specials were. 15 minutes later we got to hear the specials, which I don't think the server actually even understood (and I quote "tar tar, whatever that is"), and 30 minutes after that we finally got some bread. Another 15 minutes and our appetizers then salads arrived. They were all fine, but nothing amazing. We waited probably another 20 minutes after our salads and had to ask about our entree as we did have other plans for the evening. The entree finally arrived an hour an a half after we got to the restaurant. Unfortunately, it was the highlight of our experience and we had to rush through in order to not be late for our other plans. This was my wife's birthday and we weren't even able to hear about dessert options because we had to leave. While I really want this type of restaurant to flourish on the West Side of Cincinnati, we will not be coming back. Vitor's you have a lot more work to do to get yourself to the level you think you're already at.

After a stellar review in the December 2005 issue of Cincinnati Magazine, which cited what was then called the Coffee Cap Cafe (they changed their name to Vitor's Bistro in the summer of 2006) with the best French toast in town, we had to check this place out. Unfortunately our only visit to date was rather disappointing. Although they have table service, to call it that would be a, ahem, disservice. Beverages were pretty much serve yourself and our server was less than knowledgeable. We didn't hesitate, however, and went straight for the French toast. Billed as French toast dipped in vanilla bean batter and crme brulee and served with bananas and whipped cream, this was mostly whipped cream... and cold... and waaaaaaayyyyyy too sweet. A great dessert, perhaps, but for breakfast? And one of the best in Cincinnati? Not on your life. We'll keep searching for that. Regarding dinner, we have not been, but it is, according to the sign out front, by reservation only. Strange? Yes. Worth it? We'll have to wait and see.

Vitor's is a true gem of the West Side. There is no better place for a high-quality meal with great atmosphere. All in all, a wonderful dining experience every time we go!

I live in Chicago, but grew up in Cincinnati. I was home for Christmas and our family went to dinner at Vitor's. It was one of the best meals I've ever had. I had the 5 course chef's tasting menu which was on special. Each course was delicious - fried ravioli in a tomato basil cream sauce, deconstructed caprese salad, sauteed brussels sprouts with bacon in a red wine reduction, beef medallions with a sherry mushroom sauce and finally their french toast. Other members of the family had the surf and turf - beef medallions, sauteed vegetables and 1/2 pound of king crab legs - and the halibut served over crab and lobster risotto on a bed of the brussels sprouts. While the price point is higher than most restaurants in the area, it is an experience not to be missed. Also the BYOB component saves a lot of money. The service was good and while other reviewers called it slow, I see it as being able to enjoy a good meal at a leisurely pace. I HIGHLY recommend checking out Vitor's.

Vitor's is one of my FAVORITE places to dine. Not only is the food delicious but the service is excellent as well. I drive all the way from Hamilton just for Chef Vitors French Toast. It is that good and unforgettable as it is called. As a foodie I love unique treats and this is a satisfying fix for me. Lucas, one of the servers, probably pays more attention to me than most of my past boyfriends lol! He knows what my sister and I like and all the details without even pulling out a menu. Because he knows our tastes he always suggests perfect things to try. We finally moved off of the breakfast menu and onto the dinner menu last week after a couple visits. It took us a while not because we didn't think dinner would be good but because we didn't want to miss out on the french toast by getting dinner! Well....they have DESSERT french toast--just as good! So now we are on to the whole menu. I had the Citron Salmon my sister had the Twisted Chicken Oscar. I don't even like asparagus and I ate them from here. Chef often comes out and mingles with the guests and entertains. He's really laid back and has a good sense of humor. Vitors has all the class and style of a top fine dining experience but all of the coziness and great people that you would hope for at your favorite local stop.

Awesome breakfast menu. Anything French Toast is excellent, especially the mocha. Fresh fruit all around, generous portions and extremely friendly service (Vitor himself came out to greet my table). Black Forest ham omlette was my favorite, spinach wasn't dominating and a nice compliment to the grilled onions and spiced ham inside. Breakfast 8-2:30, extra parking in the back.

My hubby and I happened to stop by here on their first night back open after the fire. Although I tired of hearing that as the excuss for everything wrong with our experience, I liked the place overall! The decor and sitting is very intimate (great for date night) but is still casual and relaxed. The food: not a fan of the french onion soup which was very heavy on the Sherry, but my entree made me forgive and forget quickly!! Their Seafood Pasta was sooo fresh, creamy but not over dressed, and the pasta was prefectly cooked! It was soo good that I can't even remember what my hubby ordered and we usually share. Dessert-not as impressed with the french toast as I'd hoped to be, but it would be great for breakfast I think. Overall-This may become "our place", since it's the only option of it's kind on the Westside. I'm excited to try it again once everything back to normal.
