Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.
Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.
McDonalds is the most popular fast food burger restaurant serving different types of burgers in the United States. On the other hand, there are several restaurants such as Burger King are famous for serving the best hamburgers in the United States. While I can't say that Sammy's has the "best" burgers in town, I will go so far as to say they're pretty gosh darn tasty. I love the fact that I can call in an order &, typically within 20 minutes, go pick it up with relative ease. The burgers are pretty big, too....so, get your fat pants ready! (Just kidding...unless you've already got yours on.)

So, let me start off by saying that I came to this restaraunt primarily because of the recommendation from the Cincinnati Magazine. And let me tell you, there are two things I learned. One, I will not be coming by sammy's again. Two, don't trust Cincinnati Magazine recommendations. This was bad from start to finish. We arrived and put our names in (small party of 3 people) and were told we would be seated in "no more than 10 minutes". Half an hour later, we were told we were next on the list. Ten minutes after that we were seated. Look, I don't mind waiting for good food. I routinely wait 90+ minutes at Thurman Cafe in Columbus. But, be honest with me. Additionally, they seemed understaffed. The waiters didn't seem like they were able to keep up with the crowd. It was the dinner rush; have a few more people working, it is not that hard. Additionally, the one person acting as host doubled as the cashier and didn't seem to grasp how to multitask. Frequently, there were very long lines at both the register and where you check in. The people that came in behind us had to wait 5 minutes before they were even able to get his attention to get on the list to start waiting. Now, I will give credit where credit is due. For Cincinnati, they have a rather good selection of beers and the glass sizes seemed generous. But, I had come here for one of the best burgers in the city. So, how was it? Awful. Truly, staggeringly, awful. The burger meat was the kind of compressed meat you expect from a stack of frozen burgers from CostCo (Don't get me wrong, a quick and easy grilled burger from CostCo is just fine by me, but it is not what I expect when I'm paying 10 dollars and being told that this is the best burger in Cinci). The texture of the meat was poor and the taste was, frankly, bland. I can only imagine that they know they are using such poor beef and that is why so many of their burgers are covered in toppings. If you have to go, get one of those. A normal burger (meat, cheese, bun) is just a disappointment. Add to that the poor quality of the appetizers, the under cooked fries, and the amount of time it took to bring out our food, I just can't recommend going here to anyone.

I come to Sammy's about once a month with my family. I have always had a good experience here. The service and the food are always on point. I try to always order something different every time I come here. My favorite things to order are the Sammy burger, the Sammy sandwich, the catfish, the veggie and the gaucamole. I have always liked whatever I order. I also like the fact that Sammy's have there own beer that they make and it is really good too! I have noticed that a lot of people come here to watch the games since they have a lot of T.V.s and specials that go on during game time. I think Sammy's may have breakfast too but I have never been here to say.

Sammy's burger... Very good!
(4)Marshall H.
The burgers are alright. They can be a bit sloppy sometimes. I usually hit this place up for happy hour when the appetizers are half price and the beer is cheap. It's certainly not enough of a draw to drag me out to Blue Ash on a weekend. I would have rated this place 4 stars a year ago, but it's just a 3 star now.

I'm torn about my rating for this restaurant. Good food with bad service that eventually makes it bad food. I've been here 3 times- the first time everything was great. The second time both of our burgers were ordered "medium" and came out burnt to a crisp. On a time crunch, we opted not to wait for a new meal so they gave us a gift card for the next visit. The third time (today) we ordered our burgers "medium" again and although they weren't burnt, they certainly were not pink in the middle. Turns out the gift card was only for $12 even though we previously spent $20 on burnt burgers. All in all, we will be spending our money elsewhere; specifically where we know we can order a burger and actually get it how we like it!

I am new to Cincinnati, and I was staying around the corner to this place. It really isn't anything special to look at, but I got the urge for a good hamburger so I decided to give this place a try and I am glad I did. The food was excellent, especially the onion rings, and the service about what you would expect from a local burger shack. Sammy's menu is varied with variations of fish and chicken sandwiches. They even a a vegetarian option. I will definitely be back.

I've been going here since it first opened. I'll agree with a few of the things I see in other reviews, like the slow service, limited parking and cramped seating. Having said that, the food makes up for it. The Hawaiian burger is one of the best I've ever had. And the fries are tasty and a nice change from the usual. But still, it can be frustrating during peak times, so if at all possible try to go before or after the rush so you can relax and enjoy the meal.
(4)Robert H.
I was pleasantly surprised. From the outside, it didn't look like much, but everything about our visit was great. The food was hot and delivered quickly. The burger was one of the best I have ever had and there are plenty of choices for any taste. The price was very reasonable, depending on what you order. I will definitely visit again.
(4)Joe J.
I guess somebody has to be the first one to post negative reviews....so here we go. Prepackaged frozen burgers. Not a good start for a "gourmet" burger. Nothing very creative or original on the menu. The best part about our meal were fries. The service was OK and the restaurant was very clean. The food was did not live up to the hype.

Excellent food on the north side of Blue Ash. Tiny but full-service restaurant and bar. I expect great things from this little joint! Sammy's has been open only a week or so and we just got our first taste of it Friday 7-3-09. We've been watching for it to open on our drives through Blue Ash for the past month or two. I've heard that "Sammy" is Samuel Flores, who is also owner, with his brother Victor, of El Pueblo Mexican Restaurant, on the South side of Blue Ash. That's one of the reasons we expected it to be a satisfying experience -- El Pueblo is a long time local favorite, with fresh, delicious food and impressive service. We were not disappointed. The service could have been faster, but it was exceptionally friendly and I figure they're still getting the kinks worked out, being so new and all... I hope to be able to upgrade this to a 5 star review on my next visit. Jane and I sat outside under an umbrella in the unusually mild summer weather and enjoyed the breeze and a couple of imported beers (they have dozens of brands available), while looking over the 3+ page menu. Although I'd come for a burger, we both decided on gourmet Nathan's Hot Dogs when we saw the many ways they serve them. I had a classic with onions and relish (hold the tomatoes) and Jane had the mushroom & swiss with red onions version. Served on toasted buns, these dogs were delicious. We shared an appetizer portion of Garlic Parmesan Bottle Cut Fries, which were hot, crispy and seasoned with just the right touch of garlic and fresh grated Parmesan. Really, this was not your average pub fry experience. They serve these fries up in a number of "flavors" from plain to chili-cheese. Don't know how soon I'd get around to trying the others. These were so good, they're likely to be my next order, too. This is a small place, on the corner of Creek and Kenwood, opposite Through the Garden. From the outside it looks smaller than it really is. I think I counted 30 tables inside and outside. Inside, they have tables, booths, a bar and several wide, flat screens with the usual array of sports. I'm happy to see another high quality, locally owned restaurant open in the neighborhood and I wish them much success.

Wow. Great burgers fries and diverse menu. Sports bar atmosphere. Outdoor seating. Love the decor, all new and looks like they put some money behind it!!
(5)Eddie G.
one word: amazing!!!!!
(5)Chris T.
Chorizo burger with garlic fries... Can't get that at home! So good, so delicious. I was heading to a chain food establishment and I decided to stop and give this place a whirl. Can describe it in one word; AWESOME! Service excellent at 7pm. Price was reasonable as well.
(5)Andy R.
I ate at Sammy's again yesterday.... when I worked in Blue Ash, I ate there often. Very solid good specialty burgers. Something on the menu for everyone. An easy "Can't miss". The environment at lunchtime is loud and bustling, so if you have a senior with hearing aids, that will be a challenge.
(4)Grace E.
Though Sammy's may be as cold as a Canadian ice hotel, their burgers will knock your socks off. The service is... slow, to be kind, and I had to wear my coat the whole time, but they seem to really take pride in the food they serve. The menu has a multitude of choices, and has a good layout for families or somewhat large groups. If you decide to try Sammy's, you need to try the garlic fries. Your life will never be the same.
(4)Sophie A.
Very good new burger + sports bar in Blue Ash. Good, well presented food. Clean atmosphere. Not bad service, esp for a newly opened joint. Will be back!
(4)Bill B.
Just moved our business to the area and had heard good things about Sammy's. Unfortunately my experience did not meet up to my expectations. The service was slow and inaccurate even though we arrived after 1pm. The burgers appear to have been made from frozen patties (hardly "gourmet") although the remaining ingredients seemed fresh. I recommend the onion rings.
(2)Aaron B.
Get the Chorizo Burger! Lots of different beers to choose from
(5)Troy D.
Best burger I've had in Cincy...ordered the guacamole burger and it was perfection. The combo of the mexi cheese, guacamole, and Cajun mayo is pure bliss. You have to try these burgers!
(4)Cliff A.
There's a very good reason why Sammy's is packed tight each day for lunch, and it isn't because the joint is smallish. The variety of burgers, including the signature with a fried egg, the generous portion of amazing fries, the extremely clean bar, well-stocked with a diverse array of beers, and the deservedly enthusiastic staff all leads me to build this sentence which is simply a perfect metaphor for one of their gigantic and perfect burgers!

Sammy's has been a family favorite for a while now however recently I had a terrible experience with complete lack of service. There were 5 people in my party on a Monday night and we got there when the place was practically empty. It took forever for a server to take our drink order and finally the manager took our order. The beers sat at the bar for at least 5 min getting warm before I asked the manager if he could please bring them over. Food was delivered by bartender but we had no napkins and eventually helped ourselves to the small bar napkins. The bartender did bring over 3 (for a party of 5) regular napkins when she saw we took bar napkins. Our server didn't check on us once during the meal and a few of us would have ordered more beer! The manager checked in and we asked to close out at which point our server finally stopped in to see if we needed anything. The place did get very busy and it appeared there were only 2 servers, the bartender and manager, but COME ON!! So frustrating! We ended up going to another bar afterwards for drinks so we could have better service. It's a shame.
(1)Fadi E.
what is this? a sports bar? a gourmet burger joint? it's confusing me! The burgers are good, not great just good.. i like their fries, a lot! service is mediocre just like the burgers. It wouldn't be first on my list to grab a burger. how do you spell mediocre again?
(3)SD L.
Nothing special but nice local spot don't go out of your way. I agree with other reviews that the burger patties were average. The toppings were creative at least. I had the tex-mex burger which was good but the flavors were a little muddy - too much with nothing in particular standing out. Nice beer selection
(3)Sarah P.
I was warned, but was still unprepared for the overflow crowd at Sammy's at dinnertime on a weeknight. Noise level was pretty high, too. But service is reasonably efficient, and this is just about the best bar food you're going to find anywhere. Yes, the burger patties themselves are nothing special, but the buns and fixings are excellent. I had the Sammy, topped with an egg fried to lacy, greasy perfection on the flattop. Hubby was happy with his blue cheese burger. Generally I don't think you can do much with french fries, but these were crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside, and nicely spiced. Nothing terribly unique here, but the folks in the kitchen really know what they're doing.
(4)Bill N.
Wen't to Sammy's and had a great burger, just the way I ordered it. Lots of fu fu suggestions for burgers, but you can get it just the way that mamma used to make,
(4)Charlie S.
Honestly, I don't see what the hype is about. They have great fries but their burgers are just ok and a bit expensive for the portion size you get. The staff is ok but the service has never been prompt any of the 3 times i've been there. I doubt i'll be going back unless i'm indulging a co-worker ... too bad it's not better given that it's right down the street from my work.
(2)GW H.
Tried this newly-opened restaurant last weekend. The burgers are delicious and big, and the fries are tasty too. We were with a large group and they handled us with excellent service and no delays. The wait staff is extremely friendly and easygoing. Our group had the appetizer sampler, which was very good. There's a ton of choices for beer, both imports and domestics. One only very minor complaint was that the hostess seems to have a bit of attitude, but you quickly forget about her when you meet the friendly wait staff. We're looking forward to frequenting this place during football season and hope they are very successful.
(4)Jim W.
Awesome place! Great burgers. Quick service. Simple clean decor inside. Went for lunch and was glad I did. They even have a full bar!
(5)Darrick M.
Their burgers are the best and the staff is great!
(5)Chip E.
The texture of the burgers is quite poor. They taste like generic frozen patties available from any wholesale supplier in the city, Gray. textureless flavorless pucks of preprocessed beef. Putting unique toppings on these lumps of generic mystery meat does not by any means make them "gourmet". Most fast food places make a better quality, better tasting burger for 1/3 to 1/2 the price. The wings, while adequate, were undercooked each of the 3 times I tried them. The Fiery sauce has almost no heat, and the regular sauce tastes like something purchased out of a grocers generic section.. No personality and not a thing that was unique or "gourmet" either In general I think that except for happy hour prices, the place is WAY overpriced and underwhelming. I won't be back unless I hear that they've improved the burger or started making their own.
(1)Denis M.
I had the Sammy burger and Mimi had the Guac creation. Both were very big, very greasy, and very good. The buns, which Mimi usually skips, were excellent. Fresh and doughy. Beware the garlic fries!!! I love garlic but I could barely handle these. If you do order them you better be a fan or strong garlic.
(4)Jimmy L.
We stopped by for our 1st visit today for lunch because of the rave reviews from our friends. I must admit it was a little disappointing. We arrived towards the tail end of the lunch rush so it was still 90% full. We were seated immediately and the server stopped by within a minute to take our drink order. Drinks were ordered and arrived promptly but refills weren't offered until the food arrived. The time it took for food to arrive was also kind of lengthy for the amount of people left after the lunch rush. I ordered the Sammy(rare) w/ garlic fries. The burger arrived medium...no big deal, but the doneness revealed what appears to be a frozen patty. the meat had a consistancy of something similar to a jtm patty. it kind of flakes off/ breaks a certain way that ground beef doesn't. i do not doubt they are all angus beef as advertised but it is more than likely a frozen angus burgers. the garlic fries are very good. the bun is also good. it comes wrapped in some paper so presentation is also good. The veggie quesadillas were pretty good from what i've been told. in conclusion, long story short, doesn't really live up to the hype. might give it another shot but would probably order it medium to well-done. if we get the same experience then we'll just have to chalk it up as a 'no' unless friends really want to go there type place
(2)Scott W.
Great food and great service! My wife had the delicious fish sliders and I had a fantastic salmon burger. We would definitely come back!
(4)Todd R.
They make a good burger but not a great burger. I enjoy eating here because it is a good meal at a decent price and they have amazing garlic fries. It also helps that I live about 2 minutes from the place.
(3)Johnny M.
Had the mango burger and sweet potato fries. Absolutely delicious. I can't wait to come back and try some other burgers and offerings. Great selection!
(5)Kristen B.
I've been here a few times and the food has normally been good. We went today for lunch and got turkey burger versions of their burgers for the first time. The turkey burgers weren't fresh and over cooked. We think that they are frozen patties and not fresh because it took longer to get and just didn't taste good. I still recommend this place just not their turkey burgers.
(3)Bianca J.
This place is kinda've in the middle of nowhere. I HIGHLY underestimated this place. Man, it was so worth the drive! I was part of a group of 5 during a weekday lunch rush. They were able to accommodate us quickly. Our group started with the deep fried banana peppers and buffalo chicken wontons. Both knocked it out of the park! The deep fried banana peppers had a nice acidic flavor to them, and were served with a ranch-type of sauce. The buffalo chicken wontons were exactly what they sounded like. The perfect complement to a pint of beer! I got a burger, and asked for the garlic fries. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THE GARLIC FRIES. Sammy's has found a way to actually make fries taste like garlic, in the best way! They're herby, garlicky, and just yummy. The regular fries are good too. It's just that the garlic fries are better! As for my burger? I ordered a bourbon burger. It had the perfect amount of sweetness to complement the french fried onion rings and swiss cheese. The french tomato and lettuce cut through so nicely too! Their beer selection is pretty extensive! They have a giant list of beers they have on tap, which changes quite frequently. If you're always looking for a new beer to try, Sammy's is the place to be! Overall, you've GOT to try this place! I have dreams about those garlic fries!
(4)Kim B.
I went to Sammy's for the first time about a week ago. The entire family went, so we were a party of nine on a Tuesday night. The restaurant was about half full. We were seated quickly after two tables were pulled together to accommodate us. I had seen a review in Cincinnati Magazine about how good the Sammy's burger was, so we ventured out to try it. We started by ordering two appetizers. For whatever reason, the nachos never showed up. So, we made do with the one that did show up which included wings. The kids basically ate that and said the wings were pretty good. My husband and I split a Sammy's burger with garlic fries and a Bourbon burger with sweet potato fries. The burgers were very good and cooked to a medium well as requested. The garlic fries were good and VERY garlicky. Have your Altoids handy after those. The sweet potato fries were also very good. The service was so-so. We did get seated quickly. They forgot an appetizer, but it was not a big deal. One less thing I had to pay for. Also, we all had soft drinks and we did not get any refills. Fortunately, we also ordered two waters, so that helped. The food would get four stars, but the service drug the rating down to three. It was ok. With so many good burger places around town, I would not return.
(3)Alyssa V.
A cute hole in the wall type of restaurant! Has a nice outside patio. I didn't get to utilize it since it was raining the day I went. It's a small place, has a decent bar, and nice workers. The garlic fries are so delicious if you like garlic (and fries). It was my first time there and I ordered the Sammy Slider Combo which came with 3 different sliders and fries. You get a lot of food for the $12. Well worth it! It's not bad for a nice casual lunch.
(4)Lenora G.
Great food and good prices. The burgers are yummy and the chicken quesadilla was delicious. But most of all, the milkshakes are worth it!! We'll be back!
(5)Michelle J.
This place used to really be great. We loved having a good non-chain burger place nearby, and I recommended it heartily. The Hawaiian burger was a favorite of mine, and my love of that burger and their selection of beers (despite the fact I'm not a beer-drinker) is why Sammy's gets even two stars after my most recent visit. The first and biggest mark against Sammy's on our most recent trip was the state of the men's room. My husband said it was appallingly nasty, and to top it off there was no soap. It's a small place, so I question how the staff could be washing their hands with no soap? Do they have a separate, tiny bathroom in that small building for the staff? It doesn't seem likely. We were so put off by this that we almost left and in hindsight we should have. My husband wouldn't eat after his trip to the bathroom, but we had the kids settled in and snacking on food we'd brought with us at this point. The fries, which previously had been a nice balance of a crispy exterior and meaty potatoey interior were over-fried and largely unenjoyable. The service was not terrible, but could have been more attentive and friendly. We had returned tonight despite previously receiving a burger that was raw in the middle (ordered it medium-well) after waiting forever to receive our food. We wanted to give them a second chance. They blew it. We will not be back. Edited to add: aaaaand those of us who ate the food last night woke up with intestinal distress, to put it mildly.

How have I never tried this place? Instantly earning a place on my top five Cincinnati burger list is no small feat, but Sammy's definitely came through. I thoroughly enjoyed the guacamole burger after work last Friday and washed it down with a few beers from the amazingly curated draft lineup (Three Floyd's, Stone, Mikkeller, etc., etc.). Oh, and the fries were outstanding. I'd have to say Sammy's has the best fries out of any of the awesome local burger joints. They are crisp and perfectly seasoned. I counted 32 beers on draft with only 7 or so devoted to macro offerings. And the craft drafts were not the same ones you see repeated all over town, they seemed to be a bit more unique, which is music to my well-tread palate. I'm looking forward to a return visit so I can explore more of the enticing burger options.
(5)Emily E.
I have eaten at Sammy's a few times, and I will be honest, there are quite a few places in Cincinnati to get a better burger. The atmosphere is slightly appealing if I were at the beach. The food, is bland, and the portions are far too large, also the price is not right for what you get. I would recommend going to Zip's, Terry's or even Smash burger over Sammy's.
(2)Rushiraj T.
The service is awful. I looked at the menu online and ordered the Reuben. Turns out they don't make it anymore. The guy was really rude about it too. Then I decided to order the guacamole burger instead. The bun was hard and the tasted stale. When I went to pick up the burger, the lady at the desk had no idea about my order. She said she will check with the kitchen, 15 minutes later she came out chewing something. Didn't even acknowledge me. What a shame..
(1)Dave S.
Consistently bad service and declining food quality... I've been going to Sammy's for a couple of years at lunchtime with my colleagues. We have been experiencing the service here getting worse and worse. We decided to give them one more chance before we wrote them off altogether and they took bad service to a whole new level and up'd the ante by overcooking our burgers. On our visit today a man was sitting alone on the patio waiting for his food when we arrived. We waited and waited to place our orders with the disorganized server. After a ridiculously long wait our food came (overcooked) but the gentleman near us STILL hadn't received his order. He eventually left angry and without being served. I'm going to venture that this poor dude was neglected for the better part of an hour! Sammy's beer menu is vast but a good many of them are out. Unfortunately they don't communicate this with the servers so you have to place your order and then wait and wait for the server to return to tell you that they don't have that beer today. The process takes so long if you are on your lunch break you don't have time to make another choice and still make it back on time. Forget about having your water or soft drink refilled. I cannot recall a time when the servers weren't so far behind that they had a chance to offer a refill - even on days when the place isn't packed. I tend to like my burgers on the pink side so I usually order medium rare. At Sammy's medium rare often means still bleeding - to the extent that it cannot possibly be safe (ehem, health department, where are you?) This is consistent enough that today I decided to order medium to see what I'd get. What I got resembled a hockey puck. How is there such a discrepancy between medium-rare and medium and how can their medium-rare mean still alive? I simply could not imagine what a rare burger would be like and I am a person who isn't usually afraid of rare meat. We have also been noticing that the staff changes a lot. Like, A LOT! Every time we are there, even from week to week, we see 100% new faces except for one gentleman whom I presume to be the owner. My colleagues have observed that Sammy's shares staff with several other restaurants in Blue Ash. There is a Mexican place on Hunt Road called El Pueblo that my colleagues go to a lot and they frequently tell me "we had the same server there yesterday". They must have the same owners. I stopped going to El Pueblo with my colleagues over two years ago because the place causes me such bad gastrointestinal distress. Seriously, I can't make this up - I simply refuse to go to a place that makes me spend the afternoon in the bathroom. I started calling that place "Dirty Mexican" and everyone in my office now does the same. Not shocking to me that I now refuse to eat at both of these places. One thing that is consistently good about Sammy's is their garlic fries. They always seem to get that right even on the days when we need to check the server for a pulse. But in the end it doesn't make up for the rest of the lameness of the place. Vote with your wallet, don't eat here.
(1)Globeater M.
Oh, just the best burgers in Cincy, and a LOT of beer.
(5)Sarah C.
Sammy's is that place that you wanna go when you aren't a burger person, but other people in your group are burger people. This place is amazing because they have an amazing veggie burger (you can choose between a literal veggie burger (think stir-fried onions and bell peppers on a bun), or a pinto bean burger. Here's what I get every time I go: Veggie burger version of the Mango burger, lettuce wrap, and sweet potato fries. You can replace any burger with the veggie versions and you can replace any brioche or burger bun with lettuce, which significantly reduces the carbs and how full you get. I love to have this option because it makes for a 'healthier' option, and it's oh so delicious! And, omigosh, the sweet potato fries are to-die-for. Think full sweet potato length-cut wedges, perfectly fried to maintain the sweet potato insides, yet a nice, thin crisp layer outside. The only thing I have to say is that sometimes the pinto bean burger can be a little soggy, but that depends on how well you ask them to cook it. My last time, I don't know what i asked for, but it came out basically like a mash of beans. It was still good, just not as well put together as I had the first time. Be aware though, they are always, always busy. Call ahead if you have a big party!

A friend of ours was in town for work last week and was staying in Blue Ash. My family and I met up with her for dinner one night. Originally we were going to go to the Firehouse Grill but she had already been there earlier in the day. Instead we made our way to Sammy's Gourmet Burgers & Beers, which was just around the bend at the corner of Kenwood and Creek. With the word beer in the restaurant name I was expecting big things and Sammy's delivered. There were around 30 beers on tap and a good selection of local and regional favorites. A fairly large bar dominates one side of the building, while the rest of the one room space is filled with various tables and booths. All burgers can be prepared with Angus beef, turkey burger, or house-made veggie burger and come on a honey-kaiser roll with fries on the side. I ordered the Tex-Mex veggie burger with ranchero cilantro dressing, green and red peppers, onion, and pepper jack cheese ($9.99). The veggie patty is made primarily of pinto beans, which was a refreshing change from the more standard black bean. It was well seasoned and I really loved the sandwich. My wife ordered the turkey burger with bourbon sauce, fresh onion straws, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo ($9.99). I had a few bites of this burger and it was also very good. The fresh vegetable mix that she shared on the side with our daughter was also a great substitution for fries for the health conscious. Others in our group had the chipotle burger, the maple bacon burger, and the guacamole burger all with very high reviews. A kid's menu is available offering mini Angus burgers, grilled cheese, and more ($4.49 with choice of side). Sammy's reminded me a lot of Flipdaddy's Burgers & Beers and not just because of the similar names, though both do have a focus on unique burgers and great craft beers. As much as I have enjoyed Flipdaddy's in the past, I loved Sammy's even more. I will absolutely be back to Sammy's again especially as it is on the way to my parents house.

The food is wonderful with some extra special sides like Carribean Slaw and fried pickles. Thanks to my friends for pointing out this little place sitting at the corner of Creek Rd. and Kenwood in Blue Ash. It is best to get there earlier than the 5:00 p.m. rush hour. I have been dining on a Saturday afternoon when there is a line for take out. With the incredible business this place does, they are serious about getting people served on time. The manager seemed more interested in seating us than greeting us in a kind manner. That being said, the waiters and waitresses have all been great on the 3 occassions I have been to Sammy's. American food for sure, with an added "beer special" on craft beers daily. From salads to salads that you can make into a wrap to a variety of yummy burgers to wings, if you like American food with some zest- you will love Sammy's. Seating is indoor and out. Small bar is available. Go early, go often.

I would have rated Sammys a 5 but the last few times I've gone during lunch my burger has been over cooked. They fix it but I originally loved this place because the burgers are cooked to perfection and the flavor profiles are all great! They took the Jalapeno caps off the menu but they'll still make them for you if you ask ... And ask you should - yum.

Great Garlic fries ! It was my first time and it definitely didn't disappoint ! The burgers were great as well ! It won't be my last time there ! The people were really nice not to mention they had a TON of beer ! I can't wait to try the fiesta fries

Best chicken wings this side of the Pecos River! The garlic wings are, as Ferris Bueller would say, "so choice." But we do not go here just for the wings. Nope. You come here for one of their unique, crazy burgers. It is a small sports bar atmosphere and good for a small group with a craving for burgers. I'll keep going back. BONUS: The sweet potato fries are definitely worth getting, so ask the waiter to replace the regular fries with the sweet potato fries. You will not regret it.

I'm giving this place 4 stars ONLY because the sweet potato fries were incredible. They were thick wedge cut fries and not too greasy, pretty meaty. Maybe I was just especially in the mood for SP fries but these were exactly what I needed after my dad dragged me through a Sunday morning golf session ("dragged" due to my poor golf skills, not unwillingness to golf). I also tried the lamb burger which was a special: ground lamb, goat cheese with some herby addition, and tsatziki sauce. It said it was "back by popular demand", which I believe! Maybe 3.5 star worthy but still yummy. My sister's boyfriend inhaled the chili burger in about 5 seconds. I don't even know if he got a thorough enough taste of the thing to give it a rating... but I have a feeling it would be closer to 5 stars. Also, to add to the true ambiance of this place, the table over was full of people between the ages of 60 and 80, POUNDING back half-growler-sized looking beers on a Sunday morning. Only in Cinci at Sammy's...

I like this place! The burgers are great and they always have a good selection of sports on TV. We happened in on a Thursday night, and they had the Australian Open Tennis Tourney on one of the TVs! Nice :o) Of course, they were also showing a couple of college basketball games, but it was nice to have the variety. Our server was good, though we had to chase her down after the meal to get our check- and it wasn't busy at all. But the food came out fast. I had the mushroom burger, which was excellent! It dripped a LOT of fluid, but mushrooms retain liquid. Plus, they always wrap the burger in paper to make it manageable to eat, and they always give extra napkins! The beer selection is great. And the sweet potato fries are to die for!

This place has gone down hill. They no longer have the delicious grilled veggie burger and their next vegetarian option is a portobella burger (which I've now had twice) with sun-dried tomato spread...a flavor combination that does not work at all. I'm not sure if the prices have increased, but the portions sure have decreased. This last experience was not great and will make me think twice before suggesting a return trip. The BF ordered, as he always does, the chili burger. It's always been served on a plate, but this time was served in one of their plastic baskets with a paper. Now, the chili burger is a knife and fork meal...not something you put on top of paper in a plastic dish. The poor BF stopped eating (which was not too far into it) when he started getting paper with his food. Ugh. I ate my food, but I was kinda hungry. I do not think that the flavor of sun-dried tomatoes in anyway goes with a portobella. In fact, it tastes pretty gross together. It's such a shame, because I liked going to a place that was very affordable and close to home. That veggie burger sure was good, too bad the portobella burger is not. I really wish you could give half stars, because I would rate this a solid 2-1/3 stars, not the three I have marked.
(3)Lisa M.
Love these burgers! They are always tasty, moist and great toppings. Best in Cincinnati in my opinion!
(5)Ian M.
Stopped in here one night after a rough day at work. I had a frosty cold KY Bourbon Ale and the Sammy burger, which was fantastic. Nice little spot in Blue Ash, i'll be back.
(5)Kimberly J.
Gigantic beer glasses and typical pub food is what you'll find here. Although the beer selection isn't all that typical. This is a sports bar atmosphere with a large draft selection. Food is ok, what you'd expect from a sports bar. Great patio seating.
(3)Andy V.
Great food! It's your typical American food (ie burgers, beers, and everything fried). Let me first start off by saying the staff was really friendly and we arrived around 7:45 on a Friday and although the place was pretty busy we were able to request a patio table and were told the wait would be 10+ minutes, however, by the time we ordered beers at the bar the table was ready. The beers seem a little pricy but nothing crazy price wise. They have a great selection of craft beers. We ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer. The server brought them out and they were piping hot, about 10 minutes later they brought out our main food. I ordered a guacamole burger (amazing) it was cooked perfectly to order and their guacamole was awesome. Next time I will order an appetizer that has guac with it. I ordered the garlic fries which were also really good, they were kind of soggy BUT I like fries that are a bit on the soggy side. My fiancé ordered the Sammy's burger which she let me try. I thought it was pretty good but I am not a fan of bacon. She ordered the sweet potato fries which were good, and not to mention they were also huge fries. All in all its a great casual place, I'd recommend it for a casual date or to go somewhere with friends or coworkers on a Friday during lunch. I'd recommend the garlic fries for sure. During our next visit we will try the fiesta fries.
(5)Charles S.
It had been a long time since I had gone to Sammy's and somehow I had forgotten how good it is. Great draft beer selection and great burgers. The appetizers are tasty as well. I also liked that the kid's cheeseburger meal is two slider size burgers.
(4)Robert P.
Expected a good burger after some of the reviews I had seen and I was not disappointed.
(4)Crace S.
Sammy's is one of the better burger joints in Cincinnati but you may not have heard of it because of Terry's, Gordo's or Zip's. But don't let that stop you. The burgers are juicy and absolutely delicious. Sammy's has a great menu and fantastic burgers. They have great happy hour prices. ($1.50 for the beer special and a 32 oz. beer for under $4!) They have a house red ale which I'm pretty sure is Hudepohl Amber. They also have about a dozen other taps with a decent selection of microbrews and craft beers. I'd like to give 3.5 stars. Damn you, Yelp!!! I'd even give 4 stars if the place was a little bigger (It fills up quickly during dinner hours) and the atmosphere was a little more charming. As there are already a ton of reviews I'll keep it short. Great burgers, fair prices, adequate decor. Sammy's is a casual joint that seems to cater to a slightly older crowd. The atmosphere is usually quiet and intimate but not charming or romantic. This is a great place for happy hour, a beer with friends or a casual date.
(3)Jason G.
Sammy's is a good place to grab some burgers, wings, and your favority drinks while watching a game. For me, it's a bit too loud and the wings are better than the burgers. The garlic parmesan wings are tasty and pretty meaty. The burgers are good but it's more about the toppings on the burgers than the meat itself.
(3)McKenzie S.
I have been to Sammy's twice so far and both times I have loved it! When you are choosing where to sit, the outdoor patio is perfect in the summer months (and a bit better than sitting indoors, which can get a litter loud at times). It's a casual environment for friends to get together. To eat, try a burger with an egg on top. It's absolutely delicious. Finally top of your night and enjoy their happy hour! Great prices!! Enjoy!
(4)Samantha T.
I hate to give this place one star because their food is great, but after my experience of having a raw bacon on my burger ( looked like it was on the grill for not even a minute) I'm upset. I always mention I use to serve and manage restaurants when I make a negative review so people don't think I'm being a negative nancy, with that said Iam very disappointed on how the situation was handled. My server was busy and I understand that, but she acted as if it was not a big deal. Raw meat= food poisoning. I received one tiny piece of bacon on the plate with no apology when I brought it to her attention. Again, I get she is busy but a manager should have followed up with the issue. If I was one of those people I could have raised hell and refused to pay for it. All I wanted was a apology someone who cared that there was a uncooked meat product on my plate. Unacceptable
(1)Helder D.
Chipotle burger ! WOW! what a nice surprise. Little gem that was packed to the tits during lunch (weekday). Must return
(4)Kevin V.
Bourbon burger was the BOMB, wings were awesome and better that most wing joints, the sweet potato fries were good, the Caribbean slaw was bad and I couldn't even eat it. Staff was ok. I would definitely go back.
(4)Scott G.
Great burgers and even better craft beer. Was in town for a week and went there 3 times. Great atmosphere if you're watching the game. Wasn't too crowded so I could enjoy watching the game and drinking beer in peace. If I'm ever here again I'm making it a priority to come back to Sammy's.
(5)Valerie C.
Small place but it was clean.Kitchen help does not wear gloves!!! I think the owner greeted us but he was not very friendly... showed us to a booth threw the menus down and walked away..I think that he was the owner (plus I have seen pics) because I noticed he shook hands with some of the other patrons and held short conversations. The only reason I went is because my husband has been talking about going for over a year. My husband enjoyed his burger, fries were hard and well my food was TERRIBLE however our waitress was very attentive. FIRST AND LAST TIME.. I should have went to Bacalls!!
(1)Kevin B.
This place is incredible. I have been going to Sammy's for about 4 years now and the only reason I do not give it 5 stars is because Terry's Turf Club barely wins out as far as taste. The Hawaiian Burger is probably one of my favorite things on earth. I am lucky enough to work close to Sammy's and I have never had a bad experience.
(4)Alyssa K.
The place is clean, has a big bar, and a lot of tv's. My husband got the Sammy Burger (bacon, burger patty, lettuce, tomato, and an egg) with garlic fries and I got a salmon burger and jalapeno poppers. The Sammy burger and jalapeno poppers were really good. The poppers were crispy and not too spicy. It seemed like a pickled jalapeno with no cheese filling on the inside and they gave us ranch dressing to dip them in. In terms of sides, the fries on the other hand were bleh. The fries we got were the width of criss cut fries but they were not criss-cut they were just wavey. I have no idea how to explain that better. Anyways, the fries were pretty thick and soft. I'm guessing thats just how they intentionally make their fries but we didn't like them. We're ok with thick potato-ey fries, as long as they're crispy on the outside. Last but not least, the reason why my review went from a 4 to 3 stars was the salmon burger. Often times when restaurants give a fish burger option I want to try it because fish burgers can be REALLY good if made well, but like I learned from my experience here... they can also be really bad. The salmon was dry, unseasoned, and the burger as a whole was hard to swallow. I think it was severely lacking in sauce and it was way too dry. I don't want to give the restaurant less than a 3-star rating because of it's salmon burger because I know that that's not their specialty, BUT maybe if they don't know how to make a good salmon burger they should not even offer it. Just my 2 cents. I think because of their fun beer options and because my husband really liked their Sammy burger, we'll have to go back and give this place another shot.

I've eaten at Sammy's several times. The food is good if you stick with burgers and fries. Fried shrimp is identical to frozen breaded grocery store shrimp and the salads remind me of cheap ingredients cafeteria salads. The garlic fries are addictive, the regular fries pretty darn good. The craft beers are varied and wonderful but do not, I repeat, do not order any kind of mixed drink. I know, who does that at a place like this. Lesson learned. The big negative each time I've been there is an inattentive I-Can-Barely-Be-Bothered waitress. She looked past any kind of eye contact we tried, put our apps and dinner orders in at the same time so we were served chicken wings, beer and the main entrees at the same time. She couldn't get away from us fast enough after she put the food down on the table. We had to ask others for utensils, small plates for the appetizer, water and service. A courteous smiling male waiter cleared our table several times when our waitress disappeared for the majority of the time we were there. We were seated at the table next to kitchen twice and have the same complaints as a previous reviewer. There's way too much activity and noise coming from the kitchen. The workers need to know that their personal soap operas are being broadcasted loudly and clearly. In any case, we'll go back to Sammys for burgers, fries and a table away from the kitchen and bathroom. And we'll make sure to get one of the friendly staff we observed serving the other diners. That detached sourpuss should only know how well we normally overtip.

Ok pub grub. Nice casual bar and grill frequented by locals. Good selection of craft beers on tap.

I wish I could give zero stars. I called to place a carry out order at 10:50 and the girl who answered told me to call back when they open. Ok, she's right, I am 10 minutes early. I called 10 min. later and ordered and was told it would be ready in 15 min. I arrived and was ignored for 5 min. A server came over to the register to ring a bill and asked if I had been helped I said no so he rang my order and gave me the receipt. I noticed that I had been over charged on 2 sandwiches. A waitress came over and I asked her to explain my charges (it was a $40 lunch bill). She decided since it was only a discrepancy of a dollar or two that it wasn't important and walked away mid conversation while never being able to tell me exactly what I was charged for. I asked another worker to help me and the waitress came back over with a smirk on her face, giggled and said "do you just want a dollar?" I told her I have a right to know what I'm paying for because it is MY dollar then I declined in frustration because I just wanted to know what the charges were for to begin with and figured they had time to explain since I waited an additional 15 min. for my order anyway (kind of defeats the purpose of calling in). I left feeling angry that I had just spent money in an establishment (which could use a good cleaning...there was filth everywhere I looked) that treated me poorly for questioning an up-charge. This was my first time eating Sammy's and it started off with horrible customer service and ended with a bland, dry burger, frozen fries and buffalo chicken rolls that I'd bet money is made with powered cheddar cheese and LOTS of salt. The only good thing that came out of this is that I told the waitress to keep what they had over charged me and I promised to never come back and after trying the food I'll be able to keep that promise very easily.

Cincinnati yelp users have a tendency to exaggerate and either rate something one star and worst ever or five and best ever. This place falls right in the middle. If you're in the neighbourhood and want a burger but not fast food then stop in but don't go out of your way. I like Red Robin better but I like how Sammy's is nice and quiet, no loud music or high echoing ceilings. Flipdaddys on mason Montgomery isn't far and much better.
(3)Tom D.
Large choice of craft brews on draft served at just the right temperature. Very clean place with easy parking. A patio too. Excellent American folk music, not too loud, not too quiet. Just right. Staff is quick and friendly. Would I go back? You bet'cha.
(4)Tyler E.
This place has awesome burgers and a good selection of beers. The service is great and the prices are average. The Hawaiian burger is the bomb!
(4)Stuart T.
Sammy's is a nice looking sports bar. It has a nice patio out front as well. Sammy's has a variety of burgers. The patties are average and didn't seem fresh. Shortly after eating here I got violently sick as well. I will not be getting food here again
(1)Brittany M.
Best wings I've ever had.
(4)Linsey G.
Another burger joint means another tryst with a Cincinnati Magazine Top 40 member. Sammy's Gourmet Burgers and Beers was a must try for me. Not only had I heard things about this place from friends who'd been, it is also on my original Master List (the "Top 40"). Finally giving this place a whirl was all but assumed. I'll be rating Sammy's in two ways--much like I did for Senate--because it is both a place I've never been, as well as a burger place waiting for my review. See below: Location: Tucked away on Creek Road, Sammy's isn't necessarily conveniently located for all [Cincinnati] walks of life. That's not to say, however, that it isn't within close enough proximity to Glendale-Milford / Pfeiffer Roads and Reed Hartman Highway, and that I-275, I-71, and I-75 aren't within a reasonable driving distance, but it certainly isn't close to the aforementioned. Seeing as I live not 20 minutes from this place and I'd never been, that alone is pretty telling of its "convenience". This is a place--in my opinion--where you set out to conquer this meal, and not necessarily happen upon it. Or, if you happen to get a job near there, you suggest your boss take you for your "introductory" meal. Alas, here we are. Atmosphere: The restaurant is decorated more like a middle class sports bar than anything, with jerseys, posters, and televisions strategically strewn about the walls for its patrons to view. The décor is pretty unsubstantial, but it doesn't detract from the all-around experience--a lot like being at your dude's place. Sure, you [girl] could probably decorate it a bit better, but you have to admit that bachelor's touch has a bit of charm. Food: [Disclaimer: sorry there aren't any pictures. It's only my third day here, and my coworkers probably already think I'm weird enough without photographing my meal.] The service was efficient and the cost was kind of high for the fare (more than $12 for lunch, including a pop, but not the tip). For a Blue Ash eatery, I was not super impressed, but I wasn't unimpressed either. It was decent enough nonetheless. I'll delve more into my meaty delicacy in detail below: Burger - 3/5 Strangely enough, one half of my burger seemed to be cooked medium well, while the other was cooked to order (medium). The flavor was decent, but it didn't blow my mind. Toppings - 3.25/5 "Sammy's Sauce" (presumably mayo, ketchup, and relish) is reminiscent of a mix of tartar sauce and Thousand Island dressing. Tar-tar-sand Island sauce, if you will. Or Mac sauce, more simply. It was good, and complimented the onion rings and burger pretty well. Also didn't blow my mind. Bun - 3.75/5 Had good flavor, but wasn't amazing. Also didn't get soggy, which is a plus. Side(s) - 2.75/5 After seeing the French fries (larger steak-type fries), I opted for onion rings, because steak fries are my least favorite of the variety. They were okay. Not bad; not awesome. Linger Factor - 2.5/5 I have a feeling I won't be thinking of this place too much in the future. If I do return, though, (which is probably likely), I will opt for either the Sammy's burger (with fried egg, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mozzarella, and Sammy's sauce) or the Chorizo burger (adorned with chorizo, guacamole, Mexican melting cheese, and white onion); probably the former. Total Burger Score - 15.25/25 or 3.05/5 Overall Grade: C [out of a possible A+] It should be noted that, because this burger is held in the distinction of Cincinnati Magazine's Top 40 Burgers in the Cincinnati area, my expectations were a bit lofty. While the burger may not have lived up to the Top 40 hype, it was still a solid burger to have during my lunch hour. Err, 45 minutes. General theme here is that it was a solid, maybe above average meal in an average lunch spot. It wasn't bad, but I definitely was not blown away.
(3)Lydia B.
Tasty burgers! Tasted a lot like Five Guys. I love that they mix mayo, ketchup, and relish into "Sammy Sauce." Onion rings = favorite thing there. Great beer selection. Huge steal for the price. Would definitely go back. Our waitress was friendly and attentive.
(4)Shawn W.
Shrimp burger. Grilled shrimp, no beef. Delicious! Next time I have to try the beef tho...huge...
(4)Neil H.
It's a passable burger with interesting toppings. I wish that they made the burgers fresh, it's a sysco style burger that's griddled. To call yourself 'gourmet burgers' and then serve that is a bit of a misnomer. so it;s a weak start, but the toppings are generally good and have a mexican vibe. the bun is fine, and the fries are pretty good. overall, it's just ok. It's not bad, but it's not anything special!
(2)Nikole C.
It was my first time and I enjoyed my burger very much. They cooked the burger and fires just as I requested. My kids loved the chicken fingers and the portion size was perfect for the price. My only complaint was it was very loud inside and it took a while for the food to come. But I will definitely go back !!!
(4)Jeff K.
I went to Sammy's Gourmet Burgers for the second time in two years. Admittedly, the last time I was here was during the long hot summer and the air conditioning wasn't working. But I digress. . . . Went today with a coworker. I decided on the Chipotle Burger. I opted for a side salad instead of the fries. I was happy with the burger. Cooked to medium, as I like it. Nice flavor. The Chipotle mayonnaise was not spicy. Truth be told, I would have preferred a bit of heat from the Chipotle, but I was not disappointed. The burger was still good. The salad was a simple salad, but some of the lettuce was not as green as it could have been. It's burger joint and bar - not a true gourmet establishment. The place is not big, but is not too small and there's a long bar with enough seats. Go for the burgers - you'll enjoy the burgers!
(3)Jenni C.
Great service, and good burgers. Loved fried pickles, mushroom burger and sweet potato fries! Would definitely come back to try some different things.
(4)Johnny A.
A burger joint with a mexican spin set in a generic sportsbar. A little confusing and not very comfortable or interesting. The burgers themselves were not bad but definitely not awesome enough to merit a return trip. About on the level of Five Guys in overall bang for your buck. If I had to point out one drawback it would be that the meat patties were a little over cooked and they seem to use the "smash it flat on the grill with the spatula" technique which (while very safe) drives out all the natural juices and flavors in the meat that you tend to expect from a "gourmet" burger. The end result is a hit to the overall taste of the burger and it was a little bit disappointing to be honest. Still searching for "the best burger in Cincy" if you have suggestions send me a message PLEASE.
(3)Lisa P.
Great burger with really generous portions. Chicken wings are huge and meaty. Service is fantastic. this is becoming one of our staples.
(5)Ron A.
The best things in life are free is a fallacy. Need an example? City Beat Magazine. If you're not familiar with this publication it's a free weekly guide to all local happenings in Cincinnati. In this journal I found an article for the best burgers in Cincinnati. Number 4 on their list was Sammy's Gourmet Burgers. I had never even heard of this place and thought I would take City Beat's advice and check it out. Spoiler Alert: City Beat is nucking futs. From jump street, this establishment looks like a biker bar/strip club from the outside. And the decor inside isn't much better. The man/server/riffraff who greeted us literally tossed the menus on the table and walked away. I was already ready to leave. But I was here to judge the food, so I took a seat and settled in. I want to take this time to give a personal message to Sammy or whomever the owner is. You can't call yourself gourmet and serve food in a plastic basket lined with plaid paper. I'm pretty sure if Denny's (home of the $1.99 breakfast) can serve their food on a real live porcelain plate, you can serve my $10 "gourmet" burger on a plate too. Also, you can't call yourself gourmet and serve frozen spinach dip and chicken strips that are half the size of Chicken McNuggets. I've had better spinach dip at a homeless shelter and that is a true story. And finally, you can't call yourself Gourmet Burgers and Beer and have a beer selection that rivals a Speedway. The only thing gourmet about your beer selection was Bud Light Lime. I know I'm being a little harsh but seriously half the beers were blacked off the menu. Very disappointing. Here's a list of things that didn't suck. My Pepsi was bubbly and refreshing and served over ice. The burger was actually pretty decent too, even if it was overcooked. It certainly wasn't #4 in the city good. And not anywhere in the same league as Gordo's (who was #5 on their list (for real?). I'm not sure I would put Sammy's on the top 5 list of burgers in Blue Ash, let alone all of Cincinnati. Here's an additional list of things that did suck: cold french fries, 5 tiny onion rings that I was upcharged for as a side, and all the other underwhelming aforementioned things. 2 stars is just about right considering meh, I've experienced better. To City Beat Magazine, I generally like your publication. You really do offer a great service to Cincinnati. But this suggestion was a swing and a miss. That is the last time I consult anything other than Yelp for my dining needs. Lesson learned.

Although the appearance of this place may not be the most appealing, its looks really are deceiving. I was hesitant at first, but the food was actually very good. Definitely try the burgers, they are really tasty, and so are the sweet potato fries. The place wasn't crowded when we went, it took them kinda long for them to bring out our food, but I would recommend it still, because the burgers are pretty good!
(4)Alex S.
Sammy's is a hangout for regulars, a spot you'd never know existed unless you happened to either by driving by (or had been going there your entire life.) Now, let's start with the obvious - the burgers and beer. Both fantastic! Your menu is placed down in front of you and it's got delicious selections of burgers. Ones with egg, ones with peppers, ones with mushrooms and everything in between. (I'm not sure I'd use the word "gourmet" to describe them, but tasty and varied would be a good start.) The burger itself was messy and delicious. It was large and flavorful and cooked very well. Loved it. The beer selection is maybe even more impressive. It's a large long list of beers from all over the world, at really good prices (import bottles were $4. Nice.) I was very happy to eat my burger and my beer. Now, Sammy's is a sports bar through and through, and you have to like that atmosphere. It's loud, it's crowded, there are multiple TVs with the game blaring, people are moving quickly. This is not the spot for a slow, relaxed meal. This is a spot to get rowdy. (They have a lot of tables in the one room spot, and they're so close that the guy next to us kept smacking into our table every time he moved his chair. Little awkward, but what are you going to do.) Also, I wish the fries were a little better to go along with this great burger. They were thick crinkle fries that came our luke-warm and not cooked that well. It might have just been an off-night but they were a semi-disappointment. Ah well, the night was still fun and the burger - delicious.

Drinks on the patio with friends was a disaster. The drinks are overpriced, small, and poorly made. My martini was made with either sour mix or margarita mix..I couldn't quite tell. Long Island ice tea was small and tasted nothing like it should have. We stayed about three hours because we enjoyed the atmosphere, but felt absolutely terrible for our waitress because you could see she was trying but was not being supported by the bar staff. I think she made some drinks herself out if desperation and had no clue what she was doing. Overpriced, under-served, and the five of us agreed we will never be back.
(1)Carly H.
i had the Chipotle burger and it was very tasty. Sammy's is now on my list of lunch go-to burger joints. Enjoy the experience by avoiding the rush, make sure to not get there at prime lunch time. There is not enough seating or parking space to accommodate the demand. I find it best to go at 11 or at 1 Happy Eating!
(4)Nancy K.
Went there for the first time last weekend. I had a cheeseburger and fries. We also had the fried mushroom. Fried mushroom were awesome. Their special sauce was as well! Our burgers were very good and we're picky about burgers. Normally I won't even eat one out because my fiancé makes the best ones at home. However I was pleasantly surprised! Obviously they weren't frozen meat. It was grilled and juicy. The fries were awesome as well. I even used the special sauce on those! Will definitely go back. Oh yeah......service was friendly.

Great place with a great patio. I came here awhile back after climbing at Climb Time. Our server was friendly, serving our drinks and food fast. I think I had their (house) beer special that goes on during Red's games, but I'm not sure of the exact name, it was amber in color and good. The beer selection is unique and diverse. There should be something for everyone. I don't get out to this area often but wouldn't mind returning for some more of their food (the wings were pretty good). The inside is filled with sports memorabilia and other regional miscellanea. Cool place.

My taste buds have been thanking me ever since i took a wrong turn and somehow found this place. Ever since then I have been wanting to go but never got around to it, finally one day when Beth and I were trying to figure out where to go, this place came to mind. Lets start with the food. Beth ordered the fried cod sandwich, and i got a standard burger with jalapenos. Beth's sandwich was spot on. Great fish, fantastic breading, and the tartar sauce was good. She had the side of fries, great flavor in those. My burger was out of this world deliciously messy. Great meat, fantastic toppings, bread could of been toasted a little bit more. I tried the mango cole slaw as my side, defiantly would not get that again, just didn't have a flavor that i enjoyed. The lunch time crowd was there, lots of business people. We got a table pretty quick. This place is a sports bar to its core, Lots of TV's with all kinds of games going on. That means that it gets loud! Parking is in a lot, servers are awesomely fast, and beer selection looked good with decent prices. With it being lunch i didn't have a chance to partake in the goodies :)

I realize this place is known for being a burger joint hence the name. However, the hidden gem for me turned out to be the insanely awesome chicken wings. I'm kind of a chicken wings junkie and will always try them no matter where I see them on the menu (which by the way do not appear on the menu provided on this page). My wife got a Sammy burger (huge for her) and garlic fries Yum (I tried the burger later as she took more that 1/2 to go). We also ordered what should be illegal onion rings (definitely not your run of the mill). We ordered 24 wings which they allowed us to chose more than one flavoring. We got the Traditional hot wings and the Garlic Parmesan. I can honestly say that I have never had better wings ... ever! They were crisp and piping hot (temperature wise). Flavor was over the top. I definitely recommend the Garlic Parmesan with blue cheese for the dip. I live on the East side of Cincy so now I will need to travel cross town when ever I need a chicken wing fix. My only regret was that I did not try the boneless chicken wings ... maybe next trip.

Having other burgers on Cincinnati Magazine's list, I am not sure who ranked these burgers, but this review takes into consideration the burger and the customer service. If you're like me and like a burger because you want to taste the burger and not all about how many toppings you can fit between the buns, this isn't the place for us. The patties themselves are meh (possibly frozen, not homemade) so I understand why they offer so many toppings to help dress up the flavor. Even without many toppings, I still had a sloppy burger and lost the bottom bun mid-way through so I understand why they wrap the burgers. The bun is tasty, the fries are great but the onion rings are nothing special. I should put on my profile I work in customer service so I paying attention to customer service. Regardless of what your restaurant is known for or where it ranks on magazine's burger list, I'd say only your loyal customers are going to overlook your customer service flaws. We were seated and then watched people around us get seated and place orders before ours was taken. The guy who was seating people and cashing out, seemed to have trouble doing those two tasks and always had a line for each. The bartender was cleaning tables outside and had a section inside to serve. Once we got our order, we had the wrong order. Their parking lot is small and I'm curious to how they handle crowds in the winter when they don't have outdoor seating because the center area of tables were positioned so close together that it was best for tables of two, not four, unless you're paper thin. All things considered, if you're in the neighborhood and want to try it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here.

I totally CAN'T remember when I went there. Unlike many reviews, there was enough space in parking lot and not crowded inside. So my first impression was very good. Oh now I remember, it was a sunny afternoon on Saturday and I assumed everyone was enjoying the weather outside or something. Anyway that being said, my service wasn't slow and I enjoyed relax atmoshpere of the restaurant, and thought it could be nice to watch a game at the bar area. The food was exceeded my expectation. The menu has good variety of burgers can be chosen. My girlfiend and I shared Sammy's and Bleu Cheese, we both liked it. She liked the Sammy's better and I liked the Bleu Cheese. Maybe it is because I am a fan of bleu cheese. The fries are decent, nothing special about it to me. I will come back to this palce whenever I want a good burger. Especially buger places like Terry's Turf Club is pretty far from what I live. It is nice to have Sammy's in Northeast of Cincinnati.

My wife and really enjoyed our burgers. She got the Guacamole and I got the Blue Cheese. Good prices on their beers too. Will make many future visits.

Yummy! Really good burger and fries. Onion rings were pretty bland though. My hubby really likes their chicken wings cause they are huge! And this place is never very crowded..great!!

The burger left me less than thrilled. The decor made me think it was a sports bar, but the lack of televisions left me wondering whether that was the case or not.

Several of my friends have tried the burgers at Sammy's, one loves them and the other two were disappointed. Since I'm a fan of a lot of toppings, I thought it was a great, original burger. I'm going to be honest, I didn't even look at the rest of the menu. I chose the Guacamole burger, which had bacon, guac, a spicy chipolte mayo, mexican cheese, tomato, and lettuce on a wheat bun. I was worried that all of those toppings were going to make the burger impossible to eat, but they wrap them up tight in paper and nothing fell out. Each bit was delicious. The actual patty wasn't the best I've ever had, but the rest of the burger was very tasty, with uber-fresh guacamole and perfectly cooked bacon (not too crispy, not too soggy). My aunt's mushroom burger also looked awesome, although I'd skip the Sammy sauce (1000 Island). The fries were thick cut with some seasoning and were great. I hate thin fries that salt won't stick to. The service was fine, we went after 1:00 on a weekday, and it wasn't too packed. We were seated immediately and they didn't rush us out at all. I'll be back!

The "decor" is not too inviting but hey, it's a burger place. You can sit outside which is nice in the summer. I had the guacamole burger and it was awesome! The fries were super crispy and fresh out of the fryer as well. Definitely coming back!

I got take-out from Sammy's, but from what I can tell passing by all the time it usually looks packed. The night I went was no exception, but my order was ready in 10 minutes. The honey-kaiser roll is scrumptious and goes so well with the grilled chicken. They have a wide variety of 'Gourmet Burgers' from Bleu Cheese to Chorizo. I love bleu cheese, so I of course got the Bleu Cheese Burger. Soo yummy with an onion ring and goopy with Heinz 57 sauce. All burgers are served with their 'beer-battered bottleneck fries.' I've never had this type of fries before, but they were strangely addicting. After hearing that the owner's also own El Pueblo I definitely want to go back and try some of their apps with the mexican melting cheese.

Come back here again for the second time. Great fries with options like herb and cheese, or with sour cream, guacamole, and salsa. Crispy and delicious. Both time had burgers that were great. My wife had the sliders and didn't like them as much as my daughter and I liked the burgers. I recommend for casual sports bar atmosphere, but with good food.

The burgers are in the name, so they better be good, right? Well, they are! I've tried a couple of the different burgers here and they have all been amazing. Most recently, I had the bleu burger which has A-1, bleu cheese, and an onion ring on it. Simply delicious! The fries are good too. My one complaint is that the website looks terrible, and so does the menu. Please find a hungry designer to update them!
