My wonderful hubby decided we needed a romantic date night, but wouldn't tell me where we were going. WOW, he did GOOD. This restaurant has a really nice & cozy atmosphere. Tables are pretty close together, but not in an intruding way. I really love the Edison light bulbs! We had reservations, and were seated right away. It was pretty busy, but we our waiter, Keith, was very prompt (and has a stylish flair, and is hilarious!). To start, we ordered the Quesso Stuffed Squash Blossoms (on special) and the Shishito Peppers. I've *always* wanted to try stuffed squash blossoms, and this was definitely the place to have my first experience! I'm not sure any other squash blossom will live up to that amazing, light and crispy piece of heaven they served. My hubby was all about the peppers - he had them before at another restaurant & was very excited to get them. We both love peppers, and spicy food, and I think it is hilarious that approximately 1 out of every 10 peppers is spicy... and of course, I got both of them! For our entrees, the Mr. got the Short Rib, and I had the Rack of Lamb. At this point, I cannot accurately describe my husbands meal because I was too wrapped up in my lamb. The lamb was cooked perfectly, and I am not ashamed to admit that I gnawed on the bones. Totally worth it - also, I don't think anyone noticed, because this food is SO DAMN AMAZING. I'm not a big fan of cooked carrots, but damn if I didn't eat all 3 of those suckers. Oh, and the whipped potatoes - I don't even have words, too busy drooling thinking about them. For dessert, we shared the Creme Brulee. The sugar was perfectly caramelized and had a lovely crunch to complement the creamy, delectable custard. This was one of those meals that make me question all of my life decisions because I am not off learning how to make such incredible food.

Unfortunately, I don't have the writing talent to hype up this restaurant as much as I would like to. It's a scratch kitchen and you can really tell the difference when you taste the food. My girlfriend and I decided to stop in for drinks and appetizers. As you walk in, you'll see that the atmosphere is kinda retro/rustic with exposed brick and vintage style exposed lighting. It's a great cozy atmosphere and you can tell they have made it a point to perfect every detail. The coasters even serve as an exchange info/phone number questionnaire if you meet someone. Be prepared to spend a decent amount of money as good cocktails are about $10 and meals are $20-$40ish. We had ordered drinks first - the Firefly, which they light on fire and the Resurrection, a vodka, blackberry, prosecco drink, which were phenomenal. The drinks are typically pretty stiff, which is nice considering the quality and pricing. The bar tenders are extremely friendly and willing to explain anything on the menu that you might have questions about. After a drink and seeing all of the food passing by, we decided to order the pork buns. The combination of the softest chewy bun and the crisp and crunchy pork made for an excellent appetizer. They come in an order of 3, but you can let the server know if you want a specific number of them. They were such a great compliment to the drinks, that I could have ordered 3 or 4 more orders. While, we only came for drinks and appetizers, I can not wait until I come back for a full meal. Everything on the menu sounds incredible and they have great specials depending on what's in season. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Overall, a very nice and hip restaurant with friendly and quick service, providing yummy food. Would definitely recommend to a friend for Sunday brunch (and dinner as well)! Brunch: We ordered the jam sampler and the biscuits. The biscuits were literally the best biscuits I have ever eaten, I would definitely order them again. Hashed browns are very good, but more like crispy cubed potatoes rather than hashed browns. Our table and many tables around us received a FREE order of beignets (little donut holes), compliments of the chef! Dinner: Ricotta appetizer and warm goat cheese salad are to die for!!!!!!

I'm big on atmosphere, and this place has a great feel to it. It's perfect for getting a little dressed up and going on a nice dinner date, or for showing up in casual attire late on a Sunday morning for brunch, which includes a build-your-own bloody Mary option and complementary beignets. Everything is made from scratch in the kitchen. I've had the vegetable quiche and buttermilk pancakes from the brunch menu and the whipped ricotta and scallop dish from the dinner menu. All were absolutely fantastic! I can't wait to go back for more.

This review is based on their Sunday brunch. First off, you can make reservations through Yelp or Open Table, and I definitely recommend that you make a reservation if you want brunch at Red Feather on a Sunday. They get really busy by noon. I came here on a double date with friends. We ordered a mix of cocktails and beers. I, of course, got the bloody mary bar. It was really good! I love a good bloody mary bar because I like my drinks with extra horseradish, so I like to make it myself. They even had bacon, celery, and peppers on the bar which was a nice touch. My fiance and I didn't really like our meals that much, which is why the review is 3 stars not 4. I got the shrimp and grits with a poached egg on top. There was a very watery sauce on the grits, and I didn't really like the texture of the grits either. I am from the South and I have high standards for this type of food, so maybe I should have known better than to order this. My fiance got the breakfast poutine, which sounded amazing but was just ok. Once again, his gravy was very watery, and tasted more like a beef broth than a beef gravy. It kind of made the potatoes soggy, and the potatoes were somewhat burnt. My friends ordered the eggs benedict, which looked WAY better than what we ordered. I also saw some people get the quiche of the day which looked fantastic. Speaking of good food, they gave us FREE beignets as an amuse bouche for our meals, and they were incredible! Super soft and just the right amount of sweet. The service was amazing. We accidentally knocked over a glass, which is embarrassing, but they politely came and swept it up for us and replaced it. And they were very quick and gracious about it. I will be back soon to order something new and update my review when I've tried more things on the menu.

We had a good time here. Reservations were for 6pm Friday evening, and we were seated immediately. The place was quiet when we arrived, but filled up quickly soon after. We tried the fried calamari and beet salad, which were both extremely well prepared and tasty. I had the short rib entree. The portion size was small, but the flavors were amazing -- an extremely well thought out entree. She had the salmon, which I did not like at all, but that's just me. Overall, this place is definitely a Cinci dinner highlight. We ended up paying about $75, without ordering drinks. So, I would say that even though the quality of the meal was present, the portion size for the entrees left a bit to be desired. Also, our server really made the whole experience very pleasant. We will definitely be back.

What a great little place, and it's sooo close to home! I am sure to be back here a few times with the beau. We went on a whim on a late weekday night. We got there probably mins prior to closing. The place had a few other tables, but it was clearly way past the prime eating time for most people. Still, they were super courteous, and never rushed us once! They had amazing service with a smile throughout our multi-course meal. I'm so impressed, this is how service should be! Food: Foie groi: Great flavor but undercooked at parts. Not sure if it was poor preparation or poor selection of the cut of meat, but there were parts that were so tough and stringy that it really wasn't palatable. A great foie groi should have even texture throughout, and not be cold in the middle. This item needed some extra attention to technique but good flavor profile. PIG: tastes great! Pork, soft boiled egg, yummy little appetizer. It is very tiny, really just 2 bites. But so very good. Hanger steak: We were sharing everything, and they were so extremely thoughtful and brought it out to us plated on 2 dishes. Both plates were well presented, not just haphazardly separated and thrown on 2 plates. We always order medium rare, and it was a perfect medium rare. It was a good item. Love this place. Not the best in the world, but a very nice little spot. ----------------------------------- Explanation of my rating system - 5*: Epitome of something, the best I've had, would LOVE to go back 4*: Great food and happy to go back regularly, but not the best of the category 3*: Food is fine. I may spontaneously decide to go there based on convenience. But no need to go back either. 2*: If you insist, I guess I'll come along. I'll find something to eat. But I wouldn't have picked it. 1*: No plans to come back. I'll try to talk companions out of going.

Great date spot! It's very intimate, and the service is excellent. You've got to try the ricotta with honey! It's served with toasty warm bread, and is perfect as a starter. I had the hangar steak medium rare. Served with bok choy and a miso sauce, it was the best thing I've had in Cincinnati! My boyfriend ordered the roasted chicken, which was served with roasted veggies and spinach pasta. After our meal, the only thing we could think of is when we'd be back next. Red Feather is a must-try in the city!

Delicious! And, great coffee! I had the Croque Madame sandwich, that's the Croque Monsieur w/the sunny side up egg on top. It's wonderful! It's also huge. Two large pieces of brioche around ham and gruyere and a delicious bechamel poured over it all. Calorie overload but oh so good. The coffee was very well done and delicious black, no cream or sugar needed. Will definitely be back to sample more of this goodness.

The cheese board was delicious. We sat at the bar and the cocktail was also great. Service was a tad slow, but we also sat at the bar so that's expected.

Red Feather was an absolutely wonderful experience. As you enter this restaurant you are greeted with a really cool vibe and you are also confronted by the amazing aromas that are coming from the kitchen. Our group of eight was promptly seated about 10 feet from the kitchen, and it was a lot of fun to see these guys/gals at work. Our service (a tag team approach by two main people) was delightful and always seemed to be in the right place at the right time. As for the food, our table ordered every item on the "to share list" and loved each item. The fried chicken skins were the winner in this round, and we actually ordered a second plate of these heavenly treats! As for the entrees, my wife and I virtually split the steak frites and their fish special (a fish known as triple fin last night), and both were dynamite. I'd give the edge to the fish dish, as the sauces that were paired with the fish were amazing! The steak and truffle fries were excellent too! We look forward to seeing Red Feather in the not too distant future!

Without a doubt one of the best dining experiences I have had in the city in the last couple years. And that's saying something because Cincinnati has a lot of excellent food. I think what put this over the edge was the perfect service we received from our waitress. From the first hello she was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, drinks and specials. She had a delightful personality and worked to make every moment of our time at the restaurant special and enjoyable. She absolutely was the best server I have experienced anywhere. We started off with the calamari which was perfectly crispy yet tender on the inside a combination that can be hard to find. The gnocchi was deliciously soft but lacked in flavor somewhat. The fried chicken skins though not a healthy choice were delicious and served with the perfect amount of sauce. They had a unique list of cocktails including one which is served flaming at the table with cinnamon and orange. They also had an extensive list of specials in addition to a very well-rounded menu. One pair in our group got the 32 ounce ribeye which is cooked in their woodfired oven and served with homemade gourmet baked beans. Though I didn't have it it looked to be a very well-prepared steak. I enjoyed the short ribs served with the Romesco sauce which was quite possibly one of the best combinations I have had in a long time. The deliciously flavorful artichoke hearts and other vegetables on the plate really rounded out the plate and it felt big enough to be a standalone meal. I had a taste of their catfish special which came with black-eyed peas and pickled watermelon which was also delicious. The scallops with roasted corn were also perfectly prepared not overcooked in the least. These dinners ranged $20-$35 and they also had small plates in that $10 range. Overall I found the menu to have a nice selection without being too large and it also offers a wide range of prices. The Decor is classy and elegant and very inviting with large windows overlooking Madison Road. So many restaurants have given up the white tablecloths in favor of a more casual atmosphere however I believe this is a huge mistake and Redfeather keeps the white tablecloth's which make dinner feel even more special. The servers go the extra mile by cleaning up crumbs between courses and I even saw one server offer a bottle of wine stain removal spray to a customer who had spilled wine on his shirt. Every experience from walking in the front door until we left was exactly what you want for dinner out to be. This is without a doubt one of the best restaurants in the city and I will certainly be back often.
Wow! What a darn good date-night restaurant. We started with the charcuterie plate, which had a selection of meats, and an incredible pate. I have never actually liked pate before -- I always think it tastes like old gym socks. But this tasted delicious, and slightly smoky. We also got the baked goat cheese salad, the pork belly buns, and the gnocchi. All were excellent, especially the gnocchi. I am not normally a big mushroom person, but the mushroom sauce on the gnocchi was fantastic. My only complaint was that our cocktails were on the weakish side for having such a promising menu description. However, I find that Cincinnati does not really do cocktails that swell, in general. I switched to wine for my second drink. We shared the lemon semifreddo for dessert which was tasty -- we definitely plan to be back, and would highly recommend this spot for a fancy date night out.

I'd heard about the brunch menu, but ended up coming here for a friend's birthday. I can't believe I haven't eaten here earlier! The place has great ambience and is a lesser known gem in the Cincy food scene. We had a hard time deciding what to eat (too many good choices!). Our group opted for the short ribs with root vegetables and grits, the hangar steak, and a combination of small plates including the PIG, the gnocchi, and the seared tuna. We started with pork belly buns - the pork belly was so tender, and the pickled vegetables had a nice contrast to the texture of the bun and the richness of the belly. We also had the whipped ricotta, which was light, fluffy and paired well with provided crostini. The octopus was a little disappointing; a single, large tentacle was served with fava beans and greens. The texture was too chewy and the octopus seemed overdone (party foul). There is an excellent wine selection and bottles are moderately priced. While the meal itself was delicious, it is definitely on the pricey end (smaller portions). The location is a double edged sword: there's not as much to do out in this part of Oakley, but you also avoid the 2 hour waits that now accompany every meal in OTR on weekend nights. Keep this place in mind for special occasions.

Red Feather Kitchen has taken over the old Boca space in Oakley. We stopped by for Sunday brunch (11am-3pm) so this review will only be of their brunch offerings. The space itself is absolutely stunning. Lots of exposed brick and architectural character. We walked in without a reservation and they were not sure they'd be able to accommodate us, but they were awesome and squeezed us in. A reservation is definitely recommended. Our sever was great and offered us lots of recommendations. We started with the biscuit sampler. It was two biscuits with 3 varieties of preserves. The biscuits were light on the inside and buttery and flaky on the outside. My companion got the Eggs Baltimore and I opted for the pancakes (which were apple butter pancakes rather than their regular blueberry). The pancakes were very interesting. They had more of an eggy base. The texture and flavor reminded me a lot of a popover. They were delicious. The only thing I would do differently is get the syrup on the side. There was quite a lot of syrup and I generally don't use very much. The Eggs Baltimore were a nice spin on traditional Eggs Benedict. The poached egg was atop a crab cake that was topped with hollandaise sauce it was served with home fries. Both were giant portions. I would definitely love to give Red Feather Kitchen a try for dinner. The atmosphere and service was great and the food was quite tasty.
If you're looking for subtle ambiance and really good food then this is for you. With it being a scratch kitchen I enjoyed that my food wasn't sitting under a light. Great drink selection and the simplified menu makes it easier to choose items. The bartender was great and she helped me navigate through on my first time. I will be going back.

Hubby and I were looking for a great meal for our NYE anniversary, so we thought we'd try RFK, this new and different place close to home. It's easy to miss on first glance, so keep your eyes peeled for the white circle sign with the red feather on it. There's a lot just past it for free which is nice. The restraint itself has kind of an upscale trendy place, for a variety of ages. We saw people ranging from mid 20s to mid 60s and no one felt out of place. We chose to do coat check (very easy), and we had the option of sitting at the Chef's table: a butcher block style "bar" where you get to watch the magic happen in the kitchen. It's a beat option if you get the chance. My only complaint is that I'm not a big fan of stools, after sitting for a 2 hour dinner my back starts to hate me. It's a bit squished so be prepared for that, and since the wood burning stove is there, you definitely feel the warmth. Because it was New Years, we had a price fix menu, so I apologize if my reviews are pointless and not on the normal menu. For $75/person, we got 5 courses each. Our "Amuse" course was good, but pretty "meh". I had the crostini, which was oddly sweet. Hubby had the caviar which the waiter recommended. Second course was by far our favorites: I had the potato gnocchi which I'm still dreaming about. Creamy, warm, melt in your mouth gnocchi. The best I've had since Italy. Hubs had the P.I.G. Which he LOVED. Great combo of flavors and divine pork. Definitely a win there. I picked a beet salad for the third course, hubs had the lobster bisque. Both good, but it was hard to compete with our second courses. For the main course, I had the NY Strip, husband had the duck. I thought the steak was again "good" but a little too chewy, a little too lacking in flavor. I was expecting more "melt in your mouth"ing and a stronger flavor other than just "meat". Duck was also good, but hubby had similar issues. The desserts were delish! (How can you go wrong, really?) the chocolate hazelnut torte was rich and decadent, the chocolate covered strawberry was actually our favorite part. Throughout the meal the waiters were very attentive and talking to us while they picked up their orders from the chef's station. The bill was a bit more than we'd anticipated, but we thought it was a pretty good meal overall. Definitely worth a try!!

Spent Sunday morning here for brunch and had the breakfast sandwich. The portion was generous and quite tasty. While the service was really slow (waited over 30 minutes at the bar after ordering) the complimentary beignets hit the spot while we were waiting.

Unexpectedly charmed by this place! Combination of an elegant yet simple decor w modern touches w/ the lighting and plant centerpiece make up for an interesting blend. The service was excellent! Our waiter was very well familiarized w/ the menu items, specialties and wine pairing options but never overwhelmed us w/ a "menu monologue", just made the ordering experience simple and appealing. Waiter helped me select a Rose to go very well w/ the meal. Ordered CALAMARI (good portion, great dipping sauce; a bit too breaded for my taste) LAMB CHOPS (well cooked and delicious; fairly well paired w the onion straws) POTATO GNOCHHI (favorite! )great taste and creamy) These three items along w the fresh bread & butter were plenty for two. May I suggest, have a unique butter; i.e. "honey butter", "garlic butter", etc. A suttle flavor that would be a general compliment to the rest of your tasteful dishes. Price was what I would expect for the setting and quality & variety of food. Good Value.Wine selection was excellent! Loved all the variety (especially the long list of wines from Spain). Overall: A definite - I WILL BE BACK! Place has a great vibe and would recommend to anyone.Fantastic addition to Oakley!

I absolutely LOVED Red Feather Kitchen! My boyfriend and I treated it like a tapas style restaurant so we could try more of the menu, and everything was delicious! We had a hard time picking items because everything sounded amazing. Between the two of us, we ordered 5 items: 1. Pork Belly Buns 2. Gnocchi 3. Pate 4. Lettuce Wraps 5. Mozarella By far my favorites were the pork belly buns and gnocchi. They were exceptional! The service was great, and the decor was beautiful and intimate. I'd definitely go back!

Just updating my review to include Brunch. Brand new endeavor in the old boca spot. Everything is made from scratch in their kitchen. Mozzarella? In house. Bread? In house. Butter? In house. Cocktail mixers? In house. Not a bad dish in the house. Excellent wine list, decent beer options and OUTSTANDING cocktails. The staff knows their drinks. A nice place to get a drink in Oakley, at last. Treat yourself to a dessert, worth the $$$ So they now have brunch on the weekends. Had the omelette with goetta, boursin, and cheddar. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! top 3 omelette's I've had in the city, easy. Their "Hash browns" are great, and I put it in quotes because they are just simply delicious home fry looking things, not your typical shredded potatoes. Oh, and you can order their grits as a side, and while I am no grit expert, I will say, these things are delicious no matter what you think grits should feel like. I JUST WANT THEM IN MY MOUTH! And I'm man enough to admit it. Can't wait to try the rest of the brunch menu.

By far the best Brunch place I've ever been to in Cincinnati, we met the owner Brad who was an exceptionally cool guy, and you can tell he cares about the food he prepares and how it tastes. The customer service was excellent and it was topped off even more with the delicious food. The inside is decorated with a modern appeal with a mix of vintage style thrown in, I had the breakfast poutine which was phenomenal, you also need to get the biscuits, If you're ever in the Oakley area you need to check this place out.

I cook for a living and have been through the wringer this past week so I was ready for good food and some pampering. I got a bit of each at Red Feather but not enough. A nice ambiance greeted us and we were quickly seated for our 7:30 reservation. The staff was quickly attentive. At least at first.... So the food I would order again: pork sliders, strip steak with truffle fries, truffle gnocchi and the winner , to my surprise, was my husbands amazing roasted chicken with a pan au jus. I had P.I.G. The menu said it was fried braised pork with 6 minute egg etc etc. Well it was more like JTM meets Frisch's pork patty. No au jus, egg soft boiled... why not give me some yolk for that dry patty at least?! no sauce. So I could have excused one bad dish BUT our server.... so attentive all night ,and the manager who had also been attentive ,were no shows. The server did not show up to check on us until the steak and chicken dinners were completely eaten by my table mates. WHAT? no checking in on us? No apology either!? sad sad sad I'm not going to go into the dessert. I can tell from the dishes ,aside from mine ,that there is talent in the kitchen. And I appreciate they comped my PIG.... but I don't want that to happen! I want yummy food. I might go back and give them one more chance. Not sure... I work hard for my money and am willing to spend it on great food.... but maybe this is not where I will spend it next time.

Food was delicious. Ambiance is beautiful & service amazingly friendly. A little pricey but thats part of it. I specifically had the Whipped Ricotta baguette which was as airy & fluffy as you can imagine. Followed by a corn soup that was to die for. The right amount of sweet & spicy! To finish it off with a small plate of P.I.G. = fried braised pork, 6 min egg, pickled shallot frise & braising jus. As a puertorican anything with pork & egg must be tried & this was simply PERFECTION!

I had the pleasure to dine at this new establishment and found the food to be amazing. The staff are extremely attentive and as Dolf mentioned, everything's from scratch. I had the sweet potato ravioli and loved every single bite. I was also fortunate to sample a few other dishes such as the salmon (omg, delish), the chorizo (si, quireo mas por favor), and even some candied bacon (please pass the pork). So yeah, the food is excellent, and of course you will pay a little more for this but it's worth your money. Save up and celebrate a special occasion, like, uh....it's Tuesday. :) The only negatives I have are that the wine list is way too large. I believe the awesome server Dylan said close to 200 bottles. That's great for a wine bar but deciding on what bottle (or glass) to choose becomes a little too daunting for my taste. Don't get me wrong, I love variety and selection, especially when it comes to wine; but it was too much. Each to his own, and I might be in the minority on that one. The cocktail list looked great btw, I'd love to have some of those. I was a little surprised that the bread pudding dessert was not warm of even lukewarm. It came highly recommended and am sure that it's great otherwise. This place just opened and is working out the kinks and I know you'll enjoy it. I look forward to future meals at RFK and hope you get the opportunity to treat yourself to an entree and bottle (or two).

Amazing! Loved every dish. Calamari, pork belly buns, fresh mozzarella, pork chop, scallops! We could not stop raving about each dish. Bao buns were my fav. The only place I have found in the city that can rival what I had in LA.

WOW! Such a great experience that the first thing I did when I got home from dinner was write this review!! Decided to finally try Red Feather on a whim..The BF and I live very close by. Sat at the chef's table. It was a packed house.. which definitely says something. From the start the waiter, chef, and the owner were extremely friendly. GREAT SERVICE, GREAT FOOD ... and FAST! 1st Course : Chicken Liver Pate. It came it with a yummy assortment of stone ground mustard, onion relish, and pickled okra. They worked fabulously together. 2nd Course: Gnocchi & Corn Soup Gnocchi: It was melt in your mouth - perfectly cooked. It came with squash, zucchini blossoms (I believe), shaved parm on top and a delightful sauce. Corn Soup: Amazing... It was the perfect balance of smokey and sweet, spicy and creamy. VERY highly recommended. 3rd Course: Pork Belly on Steamed Buns COMPLEMENTS OF THE CHEF, yea for free. It came with an amazing tangy bbq sauce and pickled onions and cucumber. And oh yea pork belly!! Did not disappoint. 4th Course: Lamb Chops with Crispy Onion Medium Rare - seared to perfection. It was topped with a mint chimi churri that played so well with the lamb. The onion straws added a nice little bit of salt and crunch to balance the texture. 5th Course: Chocolate Hazelnut Torte This torte came with a homemade whipped cream which went perfectly with the decadent torte. It had chopped up hazelnut in it, that gave it a nice nuttiness and crunch. I ordered a red blend wine. So good that I had 2! : ) The boyfriend had the PUMKIN ALE. (3 of them!). The owner shared the background story on the beer- That the pumpkin ale they serve was the originator of pumpkin ale. He loved it. Red Feather nailed it. We are currently deciding who are going to take with us when we come back!!

The hostess quickly made arrangements for us to be seated, despite not having a reservation. The service was prompt and the waitress was very helpful in assisting us with making a selection. We decided to split the Buttermilk pancakes, which were filled with fresh berries, and Breakfast Poutine for a little bit of sweet and hearty. Both were delicious! Also, the coffee was some of the best coffee I have ever drank during brunch. We will definitely be returning to Red Feather soon!

The interior of what used to be the old Boca space is now a little more casual, a little more approachable and we got off to a good start as our friendly server dove right into an overview of the menu. There were so many things that caught my eye, I decided to go for more of a small plates & sharing approach. To start, my husband and I shared the Humbolt Fog Goat Cheese salad. The server assured us that it was large enough to share and the kitchen was kind enough to split on 2 plates. It was a very robust salad with slices of roasted pear, pecans and creamy goat cheese, which I very much enjoyed. On to the potato gnocchi...as I rhapsodized to my husband, it was "everything that gnocchi could aspire to be"...seriously, pillow-y clouds of delectable potato softness in a rich, truffle cream sauce--it was inspiring. And delicious. And spoiled me for any other gnocchi. Red Feather Kitchen was batting 1000 at that point, but slipped a little when I wanted a second glass of wine and the wine list had been taken by another server and by the time I got a menu, got the server back to order, and actually received the drink, I almost finished with my entree and wishing I hadn't bothered. Nonetheless, on to the third course... I was intrigued by the scallop special, which was billed as an appetizer so also added an order of fritto misto on the side. The scallops were nice, a little underwhelming compared to what preceded them, but perfectly fine. The fritto misto however, was downright awful--heavy and greasy, the breading wouldn't stay on, and the vegetables were cut much too thick. Seriously unappealing. I noticed when I just checked, it wasn't listed on the on-line menu so hopefully has been removed. Service was solid overall, but definitely waned in attentiveness as the meal went on. 2 out of 4 things I ordered were amazing, 1 was good, and 1 was awful. In total, also taking the relatively recent opening into account, I still give it 4 stars and would definitely go back and try the small plate approach again.
This was my first time dining here and everything was great. My husband and I had dinner with two others and everyone's meal was delicious. The restaurant has a lot of charm and a great ambiance, The menu, wine list and service could not of been better. Everything was perfect - I'll definitely be back!

Oh Red Feather! A great place to go for brunch. Both times I've been there I made a reservation, such is the way with Cincinnati brunch, but I haven't needed one. It is still on the down low but I'm sure will explode in popularity soon. The menu, while small, has a large variety. The specials help the variety. The first time I went I had a Croque Madame, for those unfamiliar with those it is basically a grilled cheese sandwich with ham and a sunny side up egg on top. The last time I was there I ordered the Red Feather omelette, which everyone needs to try. The omelette is cook to perfection. It has cheese, goetta, and other seasoning. The side of potatoes is a meal on its own. They have so much flavor and the right amount of crunch to softness. And you can't forget the Beignets either. They're perfectly sugared and served hot. I would go back here in an instant to try something else. The atmosphere is slightly nicer than a hangover brunch at other places but not a suit and tie kind of deal. The service is amazing and they are super nice and will happily give suggestions. Even offering free dessert if it's your birthday. I'd be interested to try another meal there and see how it compares. Long story short, great food, great atmosphere, great times.

Delicious brunch. Complimentary beignets-yum! Biscuits with fresh jam. Michael was our server And gave great recommendations and service.
3.5 stars, really, as it's better than OK but I don't yet know if I'm a fan. We came here for brunch on a weekend and were pleased to find no wait before being seated. Service was prompt and friendly, and helpful when asked for recommendations. We got the crab cakes benedict and the shrimp and grits; both were good. What really stood out, though, were the complimentary beignets. I could eat a hundred of those! Parking was a minor hassle because you basically have to find a street spot, but it turned out OK. Cost was a bit high for our usual brunch habits, but not outrageous. Atmosphere was upscale casual and pleasant. In all, a solid experience, and we are curious to try it for dinner next time.

Back for a second visit and much less impressed. Some very bright spots still on the menu but very uneven with some dishes having to be sent back to the kitchen. The wait staff is as accommodating as ever but with the aspirations (and pretentions) this place has, raw (vs medium rare) meat is not acceptable. Oh, and be careful of the specials- as they recite them, if something strikes your fancy, be sure and ask for the price. And don't be surprised if it's approximately DOUBLE the price of all the other listed entrees. So you'll be unpleasantly surprised when you get the check. The same goes for the special wines of the evening. Don't be too shy to ask- just consider yourself warned. We won't be going back anytime soon. Too bad, our first visit was a much more pleasant experience

It was one of the best meals out in awhile! Highly recommend this gem. Food: we ordered the mozzarella and crusty bread - it was the perfect balance of creamy, crunchy, salty, and zesty! Second, we had the bistro salad. Was a relatively basic salad but it was really well-balanced. Next came the PIG, which is pork with a soft boiled egg. Also amazing! Finally we split the burger. The meat was cooked exactly as I ordered, medium rare. It was stuffed with creamy cheese, onions and bacon. Fries were delicious dipped in some of the cheese that fell out of the burger. Service: professional and friendly! We felt so comfortable and welcome. Ambiance: awesome! We were seated at the chef's table near the wood burning oven. It was so much fun to watch the chef and cooks prepare our and others' meals!

This place is worth. every. dime. Though it's taken me a while to realize I didn't right a review when I went (stupid mobile app), I'll take my time here. We were served by Mike for a very special occasion. He was incredibly perfect, he was kind, didn't hover, was attentive, and basically everything even the pickiest person would want. He offered sparkling water, had recommendations for wine pairings for each entree, and he was completely right. Appetizer: Handspun Mozzarella with pesto, and a grilled baguette. Everything was prepared fresh, and you could taste it. I would buy just cheese from them if I could. Entrees: (1) BBQ Chicken, mac-n-cheese, green beans with caramelized onions and bacon, and a "Carolina BBQ Sauce." I cut my bone-in chicken with a fork. I can't even describe how tender and juicy it was. The skin was crispy, the sauce was sweet. I fought with my boyfriend about how many bites he could have. And coming from a near-carnivore, if this place made my green beans, I would eat them all day, every day. Just delicious. (2) Boyfriend had the scallop special that night, but he devoured it so quickly I didn't get a chance to try it. Obviously, it was pretty amazing. Dessert: It's been too long to remember with detail what dessert was. I remember having a lavender cookie in some sort of ice cream. The flavors were fresh, and it was a perfect end to a perfect meal. For those who are interested in planning, I could definitely see that place being perfect for a rehearsal dinner. The decor is cozy, friendly, but not too close. It's some of the finest dining I've ever had in my life.

Can't stop... won't stop... I'm in love! What a great addition to the area. The old Boca space has been updated and looks beautiful. Everything is fresh and made in house which is really unusual. The food is simply amazing. I mean really... we tried a lot of different things and nothing was disappointing. They also do great specialty cocktails - just be careful! Fresh mozarella Charcuterie board Cheese board Gnocchi Pork belly steamed buns The Burger (omg the burger...) Fries Grits (OMG THE GRITS.... seriously the best grits I've ever tasted... sinful) I seriously don't think you can go wrong. I suggest ordering a lot of small plates and sharing with a group so you can try everything or just keep going back. I hear awesome things about their brunch as well, but can't speak from experience. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming. The servers and bartenders are on top of their game. I would never guess this is a new restaurant - I didn't see any kinks that needed to be worked out - then again I sat at the bar so I'm not sure how the dining room flows. I will definitely be back to try more delicious food and cocktails :-)

I've been here twice so far. Once for Sunday brunch and once for dinner. I was blown away by the brunch... From the staff (we sat at the bar, and the bartender was enthusiastic, incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and an all around great guy) to the drinks (the Bloody Mary bar is a nice touch, and the coffee was perfection) to the food (original and delicious dishes.) I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner too, but I wasn't as wowed by the experience. Either way, I will be going back here again and again.

Amazing both Brunch and Dinner. Excellent head chef! Highly recommended. It's our new favorite place in hydepark and Oakley

Absolutely loved red feather. Their gnocchi is to die for and the best I've ever had. They also made spot on wine recommendations and have a great selection of both wine and craft brews. In addition to the gnocchi I had the crispy skin salmon which was equally delicious. One of my new favorite restaurants in cincinnati easily!

Wow! So fantastically outstanding! My group of 4 ate here for dinner on a Tuesday night, luckily arriving at 5:30pm before the place was packed with diners. The service we received from our young waiter was excellent and professional, with unexpected extra touches of thoughtfulness. My group tried many different food choices, and all of them were excellent tasting as well as being art for the eyes to behold. I started with the asparagus soup - so creamy and tasty! Then I had the baby beet salad - the best food I've tasted this year! It was plated differently than most salads - it was "stacked" artfully, and the taste was divine. The last food item I ordered was the chocolate torte dessert. It was a nice size slice of fudge-y goodness layered with small pieces of nuts. I left pleasantly full and wanting to return soon, as did my friends.

Comfortable bar, lovely local food. Meat centric and maybe a touch salty but I haven't had any dish here I didn't love.

This has become a favorite of mine. Fantastic wine list. Knowledgeable and friendly servers. Every course was perfect. I had the pork chop which was HUGE and delicious, especially for the price. My boyfriend had the veal and his blue cheese broccoli potatoes side was phenomenal! The chocolate hazelnut cake was so rich and decadent. Overall, a great experience for date night or a casual bottle of wine.

We live in the Oakley neighborhood (where Red Feather is located) and were quite surprised to learn that it had opened. We stumbled across it on OpenTable.com and quickly made a reservation to try it out and we are so glad we did. Pros: - The atmosphere is warm with exposed brick, casual art-work, nice wood trimmed seating and interesting lighting - The wine, cocktail and beer lists were all extensive - The server we had was attentive and on-spot with check-ins, being not too absent and not too over-bearing - The food! We had a wonderful beet salad, the pork buns, and the chicken with grits, cauliflower and brussel sprouts. All very well done and enjoyable. - The timing from order to food delivery was exceptional. Cons: - None to think of at this time We look forward to bringing friends back and hope the service and food stay at the same caliber.

Hubby and I had a fantastic experience at Red Feather. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and knowledgable, and the atmosphere was fun. I have been there a few times since starting this review (oops), but each time has been fantastic. Definitely check it out for brunch - the breakfast poutine was amazing and the biscuits are a must!!

Everything is so fresh and the cocktails are killer. I'm lightly treading into the world of bourbon- but they have the most delicious bourbon cocktail I've ever had. And of course I can't remember the name. And the food! Red wine pickled onions? I never thought I would like such a thing. Chicken pate with bacon? I was nearly using half the jar on my crostini.

Wonderful service, expansive wine menu. Food was delish however perhaps we are over the over-priced small plate theme. After two appetizers, 2 skillets, and $100, we left feeling like we needed to stop for a meal on the way home!

This new restaurant located in Oakley can be found in the space formerly occupied by Boca. The layout is similar to the prior occupant but some things have changed. The bar is a standard rectangle shape as you enter the restaurant. Exposed brick is the wall decor. There's a more casual atmosphere to Red Feather with menus brought to diners on clip board and the wine list is a set of 8.5 x 11 pages clipped together. If you want to get up close to the cooking, there are 4 bar-style seats facing the open-air kitchen at the top of the stairs next to the dining area. The menu is organized into 4 sections: Garde, To Share, Shells & Bones, and Entrees. The charcuterie and cheese boards are house specialties with rotating options. My wife enjoyed the duck with pea puree, port cherry gastrique & pear fennel slaw. I immersed myself in the delicate sweet potato agnoloti with sage cream, cranberry roasted winter squash and brown butter. It was sublime. Service was polite and attentive but not overwhelming. We are most definitely putting Red Feather Kitchen on our favorite rotation!

Stumbled across this gem without expecting what we found. Absolutely great lamb chops and pork chops. Service was also excellent. By the way the desert was wonderful too. Server was very knowledgeable and expressed the specials flawlessly. Great find Will be back.

Complete package. Atmosphere, service, food, BYOB, cocktails, wine list? All covered. Had one of the best pork belly buns ever. Crispy skin, tender meat and the pickled radish and pickles added great flavor and texture. The gnocchi were delectable with a very lite truffle oil ( which I don't like ) but they used the perfect amount not to overpower the dish. My main course was a mixed pork and beans. Pork belly, pulled pork and pork sausage over beans that were perfectly seasoned with the right amount of spice. This is a place not to miss if you are passing through Cincinnati.

This restaurant is fantastic! Made from scratch! We tried the cheese board and potato gnocchi. (well prepared and highly flavorful) Oysters left me wanting for more. They were just OK. Pork belly steamed buns were amazing, buns were like a cloud. I like a wine selection but when its as big as a harry potter book it can be overwhelming. Highly recommend for a date night, client dinner, or drinks and apps for happy hour!

I've been going back and forth on this review and I'd say the food is a solid 4 stars but the overall experience was just ok. I came here on a Saturday night with my parents and it was pretty tough to get a reservation. We originally were supposed to sit at the chef's table but my mom isn't one for high tops. We grabbed a drink at the bar while waiting and I was delighted to be reminded of the good old Midwest's prices--$9 cocktails, heck yes! I got the violet meets violette which is essentially a kir royal but with lavender instead of creme de cassis. I liked it! When we were seated we started off with appetizers. I should mention now that this dinner took about 2 hours--unless I'm enjoying a tasting menu or a birthday party, I don't want to be at the dinner table for two hours. We had the cheese and charcuterie board (two separate appetizers). The cheeses were good but nothing too exciting, however, really liked the charcuterie. It's not your typical proscuitto, sopressata board, it had duck proscuitto, chicken liver pate, and beet cured salmon. It was fun to sample and all of it was really yummy! We also ordered the oysters and the shishito peppers. I didn't see this anywhere on the menu but the oysters are priced for 3. Our server recommended we order a dozen so we went with his recommendation. I think we fell victim to the up-sell because it was really too many (and also $36!). They were good in an Italian vinaigrette (I believe my dad joked it was Wishbone) but could have gone for half dozen. The shishito peppers were simple-roasted. It was probably after an hour into dinner that our server took our entree orders. This means we sat with menus at our table this entire time. I had been checking out Red Feather's menu prior to arriving and was excited about roasted chicken with cauliflower and brussel sprouts. I was a little disappointed to find it missing from the menu when I was seated, but the server was very helpful and said the chef could still make it from me, but recommended I do ramps instead of the brussel sprouts. Really appreciated this! The dish came with a leg and a breast and I thought it was cooked perfectly. I usually think a dish could use more veggies and this was no exception, still tasty though. My dad ordered the short ribs which he really enjoyed and my mom ordered the fava bean agnolotti. It was pretty interesting with some acidic (maybe citrus) flavors so I'd say order this if you are in the mood for a unique pasta (not classic Italian sauces/flavors). During dinner we ordered two bottles of wine and went with the sommelier's recommendation each time. I was honestly surprised he never stopped by to review the wines with us--it was all 'man behind the curtain'. Coincidentally or not, his recommendations were expensive (up-selling again?) so if you are cost conscious pick your own bottle or request he go through the wine list with you!

I've been very diligent about trying new places so I can give you the scoop and my friend helped me out Friday night when she suggested someplace in Oakley (a half way spot for both of us). Red Feather sits in the spot that Boca used to and I thought it was worth checking out. They opened in December so I was long overdue for a visit. The place was right on Madison in Oakley (right down from Crossroads Church) and besides the difficulty in finding parking, it sits in an excellent location. Red Feather is a really charming restaurant and I enjoyed sitting at the front bar people watching. My only complaint is that our bartender had no personality. He took good care of us but was lacking in charm. I have to admit that it is usually the people that bring me back more than the food. Sorry Red Feather but the people make the place. The theme for this establishment is that they are a scratch kitchen. They offer a small but well thought out menu. They follow the theme of many new Cincinnati favorites like Metrapole and Bocca. I love the concept but the menu can be a little intimidating if you aren't familiar with the ingredients. My advice is let the chef do his work and don't try to change his creation, just go with it! Pork Belly seems to be a very popular food item and they offered Pork Belly Steamed buns... maybe next time! We enjoyed the wine a lot more than the food (typical Friday night) but we did share the Grilled Shrimp with Kaffir Lime (see what I mean?? what is that?) ancho chill rub and spicy aioli along with potato Gnocchi with pecorino and truffled marsala cream. I loved the Gnocchi a lot better than the shrimp but they were both awesome but a little pricey for what you get. I suppose one of the benefits of this types of venue is that you never leave feeling like you need to start a diet! Stop in and try it out for yourself. Let me know what you think!! If you sit at the bar try to get the bartender to smile! One final question.... what is the meaning behind the name Red Feather? I was not able to find that out. Bonjour! Red Pearl

A new "go to" place. My first question to Devon (who was behind the bar that night): Me: I really like Super Tuscans but can I trust an $8 glass of wine? Devon: You can if I picked it out. You had me at Hello! And he wasn't wrong. We had several (too many) glasses of wine and they were all great. It's really difficult to find a moderately priced, good wine list where everything is a hit. He's succeeded. We'd come back for the wine alone but the bonus here was the food. We only had appetizers but we tried most of them! We had the goat cheese salad, the oysters, the cheese tray, the grilled shrimp and, the stand out, the calamari. Everything was well balanced and fresh but that calamari was over the top! Light tempura with a great chili dipping sauce. They didn't change much of the interior from when it was Boca but, let's be honest, it didn't need to be changed. It's a great space. I'm sure it is insane on a Friday night but, on Tuesday evening, we had no problem getting a space at the bar and there were tables open. Not sure how long that will last because the word is going to get out. Red Feather is a keeper!

Go here for brunch on Sunday. The food, the atmosphere and bloody mary bar are three reasons why this place just rocks. The menu allows you to try a wide range of food and the portion sizes are very decent. I love going to a place in which the server are well knowledgeable and just so down to earth. I have not yet been back to try other courses but I will definitely not be a stranger.

This is the type of restaurant that makes me wish YELP had a 10 point scale. The food was easily above average but not fantastic, so 4 stars is fair. Saying that, I feel its priced high based on the quality. Dropping it to 3 stars based on price wouldnt be fair, which is why I need a 7. Its a solid 7. ;) They also have a good wine list at decent prices, and the servers do a good job of explaning the wines and ingredients. If you dont feel like driving downtown, its worth a try for some good food in the neighborhood.

I come with a mixed review. The goat cheese app and beet salad app were both small for the $11 and $7 respective prices. I would not recommend sharing. My pork chop entree, however, was one of the best prepared cuts I've tasted in a while. The presentation was simple but the chop portion was abundant. My partner's quail special, tasted amazing over spicy couscous and yogurt. His portion, 1 quail, was less than adequate in my opinion. The bread pudding dessert...amazing! So overall, great great food. Value could stand to be improved in some areas. I would totally try again though!

What an awesome addition to Oakley Square! I came here later in the evening with a group of people. The host was cheerful, opening the door and welcoming us in. We chose to sit at the bar and just order drinks. I am not known for my beverage knowledge outside of a vodka diet, so I asked the bartender for help. I mentioned a wine visiting friends had shared and he pulled a bottle right out. It was amazing! He even took time to explain what the wines on tap were. That's right-Wine-On-Tap! I didn't know such an incredible thing existed, but I'm glad it does. Oh the possibilities! Once our barmates' food came we also decided to order. The smell was intoxicating. We chose the pork belly sliders and the mozzarella with toasted bread. A really nice touch was the bartender setting up a place setting for us at the bar before the food came. The food came out quickly and was fantastic. The pork sliders were on a puffy sweet bun with a pickle, sauce and what looked like pickeled onion. It was amazing and helped me forget the polar vortex raging outside. The mozzarella (made right there, in that very restaurant, like you just walked to the town square in Italy) came out topped with Olive tapenade and drizzled with Olive oil. There were toasted slices of homemade bread that accompanied the fresh mozzarella right to my mouth, where it belonged. The food was incredible. For a smaller restaurant I was impressed at the selection on their menu. I will absolutely be returning and can't wait to bring visiting friends. Excellent first impression and experience!

Been here three times, twice for dinner and once for brunch. Food quality is pretty good. Service can range from okay to good. Atmosphere is loud and there is not a ton of room for service or patrons. We saw a waiter trip twice trying to serve his tables. The menu itself and how it is laid out is not very logical, even from a foodie perspective. It can be confusing to order a small bite as some are salads, charcuterie, etc. The listing on the menu, however does not make that obvious. Just be careful, but all dinner items we have had, (steak, chicken, pates) have all been great. Brunch was our most recent visit. The complimentary beignets were amazingly light and flavorful. Worth the calories for sure. The shrimp and grits were excellent. I love the addition of the poached egg and greens. They were overshadowed by the biscuit and gravy. Rich, creamy gravy, sweet and savory sausage, and a very nice biscuit. This is the one thing to get and share!! The bloody mary bar could use some work (more ingredients, and a better setup for shaking or mixing). The only thing not enjoyed was the hash browns. This kind of food should be simple, instead they serve double fried potato homefries. The result is a super crunchy, almost inedible, tater nugget fried to the point of no return. Why mess up something so simple? Avoid those and you will find a delish dish for brunch or dinner.

Red Feather Kitchen, Owner, Devon Barrett has his finger on the pulse of Cincinnati's fine dinning industry. Truly a scrumptious delight and the ambiance is a perfect setting for conversation, mingling, and just a great night out on the town! I had the short ribs and veggies and WOW! Tender, flavorful and tantalizing delicious! I highly recommend this gastronomic extravaganza! Affinity Air Limousine Service Owner Russ Stark

Excellent ambiance and great tasting food for brunch! It was nice to see that the interior hadn't changed too much from the previous restaurant, Boca. We ordered eggs Benedict and buttermilk pancakes-both were fantastic! The potatoes with the EB were really crispy and well salted! The buttermilk pancakes were really moist signaling good buttermilk batter! Best with their cappuccino
My new favorite restaurant in Cincinnat! I love the food, the style, atmosphere and the service. Every single person in my party of four raved about the restaurant for two days straight. I can't wait to go back! I especially loved the beet salad and the burger. Fantastic!

I think the good reviews have gone to their heads. The staff were arrogant to the point of rudeness. My husband's red wine had so much sediment that it was practically solid. He showed the waiter, but instead of a replacement we got a lecture about the benefits of sediment in wine from the manager. (No kidding.) Only after the third complaint did the waiter agree to provide a "top up" at which point my husband's sediment filled glass was replaced with a glass containing about 1 inch of wine. (Seriously, no kidding.) The food was good, but it took 50 minutes to arrive.

This place was FANTASTIC. May have been the best meal I have ever had. Our server was Alexander and he was incredibly knowledgeable and answered to our every need! We started with the calamari, which was perfectly breaded. The sauce it came with was delicious, and fit perfectly with the flavours of this appetiser. We the got the ricotta with truffle and crostinis. I felt the smell of the truffles was a little overwhelming, but the taste was great! We truly enjoyed both appetisers. Then I followed with an entree of the hanger steak, which was cooked medium. I was blown away at how well this steak was cooked. The flavours of the sauce and the potatoes and arugala made the meal incredible. My boyfriend got the pork chop, which was served with a red wine sauce and potatoes. So delicious! He enjoyed it, and even let me have a bite. We closed off the night with a lemon semifresso, which was served on a lavender cookie. This flavour combination was fantastic, and had a basil sauce, which was a combination I had never thought of! It flowed perfectly. Red feather was truly a hidden gem, and we will be back soon!

We ate dinner at Red Feather last night for our Wednesdate. I feel unenthused about it. We ordered the prusciutto salad, calamari, pork belly sliders, shrimp and grits and creme brulee. Everything was good, salty but good. We were not offered any drinks except for wine so I am not sure if they have beer or cocktails. We plan to go back and just sit at the bar to try and get the full experience. I really liked the exposed brick wall, the light fixtures and the succulents in mason jars but then the dining room had an older feel with white table linens, bland art work and baby blue/beige walls. We made reservations so we were seated on the dinner table side. The restaurant has a young/hip vibe mixed with a upper class/older doctor crowd. I think it will sway one way or the other with time as it makes a name for itself. Food was good, definitely get the pork sliders and shrimp and grits. Overall ambiance was just okay.

Completely enthralled with this restaurant in the space formerly occupied by Boca. Have been there three times in the last couple of months and it has been spot on every time. The food is consistently good and the service is as well. The gnocchi is fantastic as is the burger which others have raved about. The only negative I've found is the two-tops are a bit crammed in. Simple solution: Take another couple or two with you. If you love wine, you will love the sommelier. He won't steer you wrong and won't dig too deep into your wallet.

Was in here for drinks/apps at the bar. Atmosphere is really nice. Staff was friendly. We just had drinks and calamari which was fantastic. The credit card charge comes through as "Brad Bernstein" so I was confused at first since I didn't know what it was. After some back and forth with the credit card company we figured out it was Red Feather. They might want to fix that in case other people get confused. Not sure if they're getting chargebacks because of it.
Food was out of this world, the service was very helpful and the entire place was very pretty. One of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. I will most definitely be back. 6/5 stars if i could.

Overall our experience this time was not as enjoyable as the last, on our previous visit every dish was executed perfectly the wine pairings were great and service was spotless. This time around though the service was excellent, a couple of dishes missed their mark. Let me first say that the bartender Kit is fantastic always welcoming and accommodating and is a real asset to the restaurant. The shrimp and grits, though the flavor was great it would've been improved by simply adding more grits AND an egg that wasn't partially hard-boiled. I'm sure the intention was to have the egg yolk mix in with the dish... that didn't happen. The other entree was a sous vide rib eye. It was an intriguing preparation that sadly was under seasoned and a little tough. Curiously the temp was perfect medium rare however I think the sous vide preparation kept the steak a little bit on the tough side. These missteps will not prevent us from returning for another visit.

I have been there a couple of times for brunch. I ALWAYS ask for the same "The red feather omelette" is DELICIOSO! I am not a big fan of goetta mainly because is greasy... I am more than happy to make an exception for this dish. Every single ingredient complements the other without being overpowering. The omelette is hearty without being "heavy". The place has a minimalistic/clean decoration which makes you feel welcomed. They offer a bloody Mary self service bar which I haven't tried but looks inviting. Extra points for taking RESERVATIONS which nowdays a lot of the newer restaurants aren't doing to be "trendy". Unless I am dining in a Michelin star rated restaurant... I don't feel compelled to wait 30 min... Maybe that's just me.

Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was excellent. Parking was not good, but hey, that's Oakley. We split an order of the beet salad and it was delicious - the beets, hazelnuts and arugula worked well with the yogurt dressing - sweet, bitter, crunchy, tangy all on one plate. A platter with bread and butter was served just before the salad, and as a bread fanatic, gotta say it was delicious crusty bread. Sweet potato agnolati is a vegetarian entree, but I opted for the gnocchi starter as a main dish, and asked for the fritto misto as a side, which was dumb on my part, as it was batter-fried and way too much along with the rich cream sauce for the gnocchi. Live and learn. The gnocchi was really really really good; I will definitely be back for more of that! My husband had the roasted chicken and after a few bites, said "this is exactly how roasted chicken should always taste". As for service, our water and wine glasses were always full, the plates were always cleared, and the food was served -not too soon and not too late. Never felt rushed but never sat hungry either. The restaurant was bustling, but not horrendously so, and the music and noise level were pleasantly in the background, not overwhelming. For dessert, Chocolate hazelnut torte, so good ! - and enough to share.

We went to Red Feather for Sunday brunch, and got there at 11am. We had a reservation, and were seated right away. The service was great, and in no time we ordered the Salmon, Eggs Benedict, and the Pancakes. All three of us were over the moon about our food. The Eggs benedict (what I got) was cooked perfectly - the eggs were perfectly runny. If you don't like your poached eggs that soft, you can order them harder. I'm so excited to go here for dinner next time I'm in town!

We had dinner there and we had the Butcher Cut steak. They were very tough and full of gristle. After telling the waitress, we were brought new steaks and they were no better. In the end we were charged the full amount and left hungry. We felt the prices were high for the quality of good.

I would give this place a five star...except for the ending to our meal. The food was great, the service was friendly, the environment was hopping and lively. Everything was great, until the end when we felt kind of scolded for staying too long. The good news is, they are busy, which had a nice Saturday night hum! The food was great, I was impressed. We had... - beets & yogurt with honey, delish! - short ribs and also the salmon were fantasti.c. Great flavors! - cheese plate, was fantastic with 3 types of cheese, candied ginger was a nice touch. Not everyone was a fan of the Stilton. - wine list was extensive, cocktails were interesting and unique We had a great server and she was wonderful, took her time, chatted it up with us, gave us recommendations, helped one of our party who was on the paleo diet figure out what would work. I like the atmosphere better than the old Boca. It just feels a little more modern and more of a great neighborhood community place! I could see going back there frequently. The only bummer was that at the end of our meal it felt like the maitre d' almost scolded us to leave so they could get another table in. I understand that a restaurant gets busy and has reservations, but I was bummed how he handled it. In our party we had all been servers before, so we repeatedly asked, do you need the table etc. This place is new. I don't understand why someone wouldn't have come over and said - how did you like your meal? we hope you loved it? Is there anything else we can get for you...would you mind having your after dinner drinks at the bar. We would have gladly done that, but instead it felt like we were rushed out. I think that was a faux pas on their part and after a really awesome evening, it ended on a negative note. I hope they will figure out how many reservations they take so they don't rush people out and cut their chances for being an awesome addition to the Oakley/Cincinnati dining scene.

Excellent! Period. Eat at the bar. Thanks Tyler, thoroughly enjoyed our evening! We'll be back.

Red Feather was wonderful. My fiancé and I went for our first time to celebrate Valentine's on Sunday Feb 15. Everything was delicious. The wine list is ok by the glass but bottle choices were excellent. We started with the cheese board which the presentation was perfect and the candied fig Was the best thing on the board! I highly recommend the PIG and Beet salad. The Short Ribs were melt in your mouth amazing. Portions are spot on and service is great. Our waiter Michael was very helpful , detailed and knew his stuff. I can't wait to go back. Very happy with our night out at Red Feather

Went for brunch with my fiancée and loved the bloody Mary bar and all of the different options to add. I have only had beignets twice but these were amazing. We are going to New Orleans in Sept so I will be interested how they compare. I had the special which was a steak omelet and it was great. The steak was very flavorful. If we had any room for desert we would have definitely gotten some. Can't wait to go back.

(3)Shirley A.

Amazing brunch!!! Seriously!!! The croquettes are amazing!!! Happy hour is great if you want a relaxing atmosphere- featured wines at $5 a glass from 5-7.

(4)Edna S.
(5)John B.
(4)Stefanie R.

Red Feather is located a few blocks from Oakley Square, and unless you were looking for it, you might walk right past the restaurant without thinking twice. Designated only by the sign hanging outside with a red feather and the letters R and F, you might think that you were walking by a boutique and miss out on the delicious treasures that were awaiting your palate. I had the pleasure of dining at Red Feather a few weeks ago when my parents were in town. We ordered a few different plates, and I was able to try the Calamari and Lettuce Wraps as appetizers and the Scallops, Hanger Steak, and Short Rib for entrees, all of which were excellent. The restaurant opens up when you walk in, with a pleasant low light dining atmosphere, and large wooden tables, making you feel at home. The waiter was friendly and helpful, offering good suggestions for drinks to accompany each side and entrée. The only downside is that the entrees are a bit expensive, but if you are willing to splurge, I guarantee you that you will not be disappointed.

What a great restaurant! I had been wanting to stop in for dinner ever since they opened and finally had the chance. The décor is classy with a rustic feel which makes you feel at home and comfortable. The bar is right in front as you walk in with multiple dining areas around it. At the back you can see chefs working and the wood burning oven. We started with a cheese board, ceviche, and scallop crudo. The cheese board was good with a washed rind goat cheese, a firm sheep's milk cheese, and an aged Gouda paired with mixed nuts, candied ginger, apple, honeycomb, and crostini. The ceviche was made with halibut and had fresh jalapenos in it and while it was not the best ceviche I have had it was still quite good. The star of the show was the scallop crudo. It was absolutely perfect when it came to flavor and texture. The scallops were super fresh and just melted in your mouth with a very mild vinaigrette that added just a touch of flavor but did not overwhelm the scallops at all. Although we shared this, I could have eaten all of the scallops by myself. And then ordered more. Next we had more shared plates before moving on to the main course. We tried the prosciutto salad, shishito peppers, and asparagus soup. The salad was nice with arugula and kale, marcona almonds, and a light vinaigrette. The shishito peppers are a very nice menu item for sharing coming out as a plate of roasted peppers with a light dressing. It is very simple yet I found it to be a great snack. I could see stopping in for a drink and having those as a snack at the bar instead of a typical bar snack like nuts. The asparagus soup had a great rich flavor with crispy pieces of prosciutto in it. It was a bit salty but in small portions it is fine and I would definitely eat it again. For entrees, we all tried either the halibut or the short rib. The short rib came out as four big pieces of short rib served on creamy blue corn polenta with fiddlehead ferns. If you like meat with a rich and fatty taste then this short rib dish is sure to please with buttery polenta and roasted vegetables. The halibut was served with orzo pasta and bagna cauda butter sauce which is a butter sauce with anchovies. Once again the sauce on the halibut was mild enough to really let the natural halibut flavor shine through. The seafood dishes here were prepared masterfully allowing one to fully enjoy the fish itself and not just some added flavoring. Finally, we ordered dessert although at this point I had eaten plenty and certainly did not need more to eat. We ended this great meal with a chocolate hazelnut torte, rum raisin bread pudding, and strawberries and cream with crisp meringue. The chocolate hazelnut torte was very rich with chunks of hazelnut in it and served with whipped cream. The bread pudding was very buttery and delicious. The star of the dessert course was the strawberries and cream with light and airy pieces of meringue underneath. It was extremely delicious and not as heavy as the other desserts with a very fresh taste to it making it a dessert that you can eat after a meal without it making you feel too full. I noticed on their menu that they also serve a burger and I will definitely be back to try that with an order of shishito peppers on the side. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with a wonderful atmosphere and excellent food. The server was friendly and never rushed us at all, allowing us to eat at our own pace as we talked and ate and drank our way through four rounds of ordering. With such a wonderful first experience I will most certainly be visiting again.

(5)Sarah B.

(5)Heather W.
(5)Chris C.

(4)Victoria M.

I don't understand businesses that don't update social media sites like Yelp. Hours are wrong for Sunday. They are CLOSED from 3-5.

(4)Angie M.

(4)David W.
(4)CJ W.

(4)Mike R.
Interior is pretty much same look as Boca (same building). Menu is diverse and lots of small plate/sharing options. Wine list is good, reasonably priced. Specialty cocktail drinks were 9$. Food was overall very good. Oysters surprisingly good (unique light glaze on top) Cheese board and meat board has nice flavor, but personally not a fan of chicken patte (one of three meats) Goat cheese salad was good Six of us had dinner, short ribs were excellent, lamb was good as was the chicken. Entrees are almost a la carte, with sides not very substantial. We were fine as we ordered lots of starters. They have a tomahawk steak on menu that is apparently 67ounces, no one tried it. The restaurant just opened, so it was a little slow. This should improve over time, and everyone was polite, including the gentleman working the front, the owner, and our waiter. Overall, I'd go back in a few weeks after they get a routine down and recommend it as a solid date spot that is reasonably priced ($8-14 starters, $18-28 for entrées)
(4)Shannon Q.
My new favorite restaurant in Cincinnat! I love the food, the style, atmosphere and the service. Every single person in my party of four raved about the restaurant for two days straight. I can't wait to go back! I especially loved the beet salad and the burger. Fantastic!
(5)Patricia F.

Superb. Outstanding food, service, presentation, and wine list. Ambience is romantic, but not overly so. Need to broaden the menu a bit. Otherwise, one of the better restaurants in Cincinnati.
(5)Janelle E.
Extensive wine list, incredibly helpful bar staff to sort through what to get. Have had several great experiences here!

Yummy! Friendly service, tasty unique entrees and a wonderful brunch menu!

Wow! What an experience! True to their farm to table and scratch kitchen credo, Red Feather served up fresh, flavorful and unique dishes, course after course. My husband gobbled up every bite of the fried green tomatoes. They sold out while we were there, so make sure to get there early. I enjoyed the mozzarella with fresh pesto. The menu said I was supposed to share it. Sorry. I'm not good at sharing. Mm mmm! The pork chop entrée is clearly a favorite. The cut is flavorful, and cooked perfectly. As delish as it was, don't overlook the potatoes and red wine reduction. Since I greedily enjoyed the mozzarella, good thing I ordered something smaller, the lamb chops. They were also prepared perfectly. We ordered Bob Foley's Griffin. Paired perfectly with my lamb! Bursting with dark fruit favors. Our server, Dave, suggested the Lemon Semifreddo for dessert. How unfortunate this incredible creation shares the name of the loser brother from the Godfather. Frozen lemon custard topped with a carmelized meringue, atop a lavender cookie with a basil drizzle. Oh my goodness! Give it a go. Great for a date night!
