Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I am surprised I didn't know this was so close to my job in downtown. We went there for a company lunch and had preordered our apps. It was awesome arriving for our reservation and our table was ready and the servers were bringing out the apps. Their team is great over there and our server was a sweetheart. We got the Billy Goat chips and dip, hummus, and breaded mushrooms. It was all delicious and perfectly accompanied by some wine. I enjoyed those so much I couldn't wait for the pizza. Our group of 13 ordered many pies, Lincoln Park was popular and light. The hot & spicy Grove pizza was the perfect kind of spicy while the veggie pizza my coworkers ordered was heaven. It's just pizza but the thin crusts were good, the apps were yummy, the wine was delicious and the service was on point even on a Friday at 1pm. I'd bring my other friends here to try it out. It's on 6th and Main so it's close to other busy restaurants and the Aronoff. Check it out.

First visit last night. The pizza was great. We got the thin crust (1/2 the Hill, 1/2 Grove), the toppings were very fresh and the sauce was delish. Great beer list and reasonable wine prices, too. Nice space and great addition to this part of downtown.

Pi pizzeria is SO so good. I tried the deep dish pizza and was really impressed. The crust is made with cornmeal, giving it a light but satisfying crunch. Though I didn't try the thin crust, I was peeking over at some other tables and that too looked delicious. You can carry out here as well, but I recommend trying the pizza fresh at the restaurant so the crust remains crisp. I only came with one other person, but they have a fairly large space and could accommodate a large group if you call in advance. Service was quick and staff was friendly. Come by here if you're in the area for sure!

We came because our grandson wanted pepperoni pizza and were very surprised at how good it was! Excellent!!

Let me start off by saying that I will definitely go back, however my first time wasn't the best primarily because of the service. It was just way too slow. I had the Bada-Bing salad with chicken. It was really good but they were light on the chicken. I expected more chicken for a extra $2.95. Overall it was ok but as I said I will return and hope for a better dining experience.

Now that Cincy has a Pi Pizzeria, a little StL has now crept into downtown. If they are smart, they will play down StL connections due to the recent bad blood between the two baseball teams. All they have to do is keep putting out outstanding pizzas with fresh toppings and crispy crust and they will be super successful. I was very impressed with "The Hill" pizza, named for the famous Italian neighborhood in StL which was home to Yogi Berra. Their craft beer selection is very well done and the giant windows makes for great people watching. The only thing missing: Provel Cheese topping...that would really seal the deal!

This small pizza chain out of St. Louis opened a few months ago in Downtown and we stopped in to give it a try. They specialize in deep dish Chicago-style pizza, but offer a few thin crust varieties too, as well as salads, soup and different snacks/appetizers than you might normally associate with a pizza place. I chose spicy pickles (pickles covered in Huy Fong chili paste - $3) as my appy and my husband chose spice-rubbed Billy Goat potato chips ($4). Other options include an olive mix, hummus, mussels, and some sort of Berkshire sausage dish (a St. Louis favorite, apparently). He chose a deep dish specialty pie ($17, feeds 2-3) called the Delmar, which included roasted chicken, BBQ sauce, red and green peppers, red onions and cilantro. He thought it was tasty but started to get tired of it after having leftovers for a couple of days afterward. I opted for their rustic white bean soup ($5 cup/$7 bowl) and a small "Bada Bing" salad (greens with almonds, dried bing cherries, gorgonzola and raspberry vinaigrette $6 small/$9 large). Both were nice, but I wish I had just gotten a large bowl of the soup because it was GLORIOUS. I swear I heard an angelic choir singing after I took that first bite. Best soup in the city. It was so simple (veggie broth, kale, tomato and mushroom) and so good that I ate it very slowly - reverently - to savor every bite. Salad was a bit of a letdown after that. In retrospect, I should have gone with my first salad choice of the Kale-ifornication salad (kale, quinoa, chickpeas, tomato, pickled red onion and almonds $7/$10) because it would have probably complemented the soup better, but I got suckered in by cherries and gorgonzola. Pi's space is a bit sterile and tables are packed in very close together. I think it could feel very claustrophobic on a busy evening, although the large windows certainly help open up the room (and great for people watching). Luckily we were there in the early evening before it got too crowded. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant offers an impressive array of craft beer and interesting cocktails to accompany the food. I'd certainly return.

Excellent upscale pizza. Tender crispy thin crust with spiced just right sauce. Generous toppings. Salads were fresh and dressed well. Kristina provided excellent service for us. Good food and great service make this a must stop in cincy!

I went to school in St. Louis and fell in love with Pi! I couldn't wait for this location to open, and it is just as incredible as I remember. Their deep dish South Side Classico is quite possibly created by angels. If you have an obsession with Chicago deep dish, you should know this isn't quite the same and they don't claim to be "Chicago" pizza so GET OVER IT!!! Try Pi!! on a side note, their wings and garlic bread made me want to tap dance.
(5)Lance H.
One of, it not the best pizza joints in Cincinnati. We have had their deep dish and thin crust pizzas and like them both very much. Unlike most, they have vegan options which is a must for my family. It may not be the cheapest pizza you ever eat in Cincinnati, but it will surely be one of the best!
(5)Curtis C.
The pizza was very good. I loved the corn meal crust, it gave the pizza a different flavor. The Large pizza was big enough to feed three people. The Manager was very friendly. The beer selection was excellent. My only complaint is the menu was 2 pages, front and back an there was so much information on those pages. It's pizza, let's not try to be overly fancy and confuse the customer. The ingredients very very fresh. The cucumber yogurt dip for the wings was super amazing. The restaurant reminded me a big of Deweys' but I'm a bigger Dewey's fan but it's great for a restaurant downtown.
(4)Samantha P.
So good! Have never had one bad thing here. Today was especially great. I chose the chef's pick which was a thin crust pizza and it was a take on a Cuban sandwich. Fantastic! The kale salad is wonderful and healthy. Their deep dish pizzas are fresh and the cornmeal crust they make it with doesn't leave you feeling like you're going to explode. I will recommend this place to everyone.

I've wanted to try this pizza place as it is within walking distance of my residence. I ordered the thin crust for take out by phone and sauntered over to the downtown location. The pizza wasn't ready, so I asked if I could eat it at the bar instead of taking it out. I was told unequivocally by the hostess, that was impossible. It seemed stupid, since I actually would spend more money by sitting at the bar drinking and eating. While I waited, I ordered a drink and attempted to engage the bartender with conversation. He was more interested in congregating at the end of the bar to talk with all the employees, who were standing around joking and laughing. The group acted very immature and unprofessional as tables and service were ignored. Finally, my pizza arrived and I paid and hurried back to my condo. Let it suffice that the pizza was ineatable! I asked for "extra crispy" and a soggy slop was what I was given. It was disgusting! I wanted to give an independent business my patronage, but Pi Pizzeria was the worst! I know pizza, having grown up in NYC and having traveled to Naples, Italy several times to eat at the "source." This was probably the worst pizza I have ever tasted, and that's not hyperbole. I ended up ordering at Domino's, and that was infinitely better.

Some may complain about the prices but keep in mind this isn't your average fast food type pizza joint but more of a gourmet option for pizza. I don't mind paying the price since i always leave satisfied. You can't go wrong with either their thin crust or deep dish since they're both delicious (I prefer the deep dish though). The cornmeal crust and sweet tomato sauce is fantastic and so different than your typical pizza places. I've never had a bad pizza from there or from the ones in St. Louis. I hope people can forget their obsession with LaRosas and accept this place so it can thrive in Cincinnati.
(5)Joshua G.
I went to Pi with my wife and daughter tonight. It was the best pizza I have had in a long time! We got a thin crust pizza with red sauce, olives, and fresh basil. The crust was crispy, the sauce was great, the cheese just right, and the fresh basil was the perfect topping. I highly recommend this place.
(5)Matthew E.
I wanted to love it. Seriously. But it just wasn't what I had hoped it would be. Some coworkers and I like to try all the pizza joints around town. This being the newest, we thought we would give it a shot. We ordered two pizzas, large size for take out: the kirkwood and just a normal pepperoni. I'll start with the good.... The Good: The service for takeout was excellent. I was greeted at the door and had a young hostess open the door for me. First time that's ever happened at a pizza place! Food was ready quick, within 25 minutes and I only had to wait a few minutes once inside for it to come out. The sauce and toppings were also excellent! The peppers on the kirkwood were cooked well and the meatballs were large and delicious. I thought the sauce rivaled some of the best I've had. The cornmeal crust was different, and I'm undecided on it so we'll leave it under the good for now. The Bad: The cheese. When I think deep dish, I think loads and loads of cheese. The kind that when you take a slice you need to use the utensil to keep it from stringing out the next piece. This wasn't the case whatsoever. My first warning sign should have been that two large pizzas would be ready in 25 minutes. Also, the cheese was somewhat, I guess "matted" down underneath the sauce. It was maybe half a centimeter worth? It was not the least bit stringy. I was not impressed on that aspect. Also the size. Their website states that a small is good for 2 persons and a large for 3-4. That may be true if it was the deep dish I'm used to, where after 2 slices I cannot move. This, however, was like normal slices of pizza with an extra inch of crust. 4 people finished two larges, with one slice leftover. If you're ordering for multiple people, keep that in mind and err on the side of getting a larger pie. My reviews based off carry out. Maybe others dining inside had a different experience. For the price though ($43 for two pies) the four of us were all underwhelmed and somewhat disappointed. If you're looking for true, Chicago style, deep dish pizza, I would look elsewhere.

In town for a conference and stumbled on PI. My colleague and I were looking for a casual bite as pizza sounded great. Little do I know that this place would change everything I thought I knew about pizza. I mean, CORN MEAL CRUST! We ordered the mussels app and garlic bread. The mussels were good but the bread was amazing, crunchy crust and warm chewy middle with amazing garlic butter. The pizza was deep dish Maplewood style ( spicy sausage, basil, cherry peppers). The pizza was seriously amazing! All of the ingredients blended perfectly and did I mention the corn meal crust. Also, the staff was awesome and the environment was relaxed. We were there to see Cincy win in the first round of the tournament, nice moment! Oh and nice (albeit small) craft beer selection. Do this! Also for those complaining about price we had a 2 apps, a large pizza, and 4 beers for $55. That's not too bad!

Service was incredible!! Very friendly and terrific to my family (wife and three young kids). The "not so cinis" was very good; I strongly recommend that. We had a thin crust and a deep dish. They use different crusts for each type. The thin crust was mainly for the kids and they liked it; although it didn't really interest me (I'm an east coaster that grew up with really good Neapolitan pizza). The deep dish was very good quality, you can tell they use good ingredients. The crust is more of a corn meal crust texture; I really don't consider it a Chicago style deep dish. I really want to give it a higher rating, but I didn't get the true Chicago pizza I was expecting. From a pure Chicago style pizza in Cincinnati, the now closed Chinatis was more authentic. I hope this place does well given the quality of food and employees they have here.

Great addition to the city! My wife and I heard about Pi through a friend and were eager to try it out. We were both starving and figured deep dish pizza was the best choice. When we walked in, the host opened the door for us and was extremeley inviting. We were seated by the window which was nice, but there was construction which was an eye sore. Hopefully the city gets the street car up and running soon! Our server Kristin was great! She walked us through the menu, and explained everything perfectly. For newbies like us who have never had deep dish, we were pleasantly surprised. She was very engaged and knowledgable on the menu, and went above and beyond to make our first deep dish experience worth while. They have the option of half and half, so me being the meat eater and my wife not we went that route! For an app we tried the Pi Ravs which were different but DELICIOUS!! Never had anything like it! The food overall was great and the service was top notch. Parking was difficult, but the experience overall was great and we will for sure be back!

Went to this new restaurant last night. The staff were all polite and friendly. They have a nice variety of beer and specialty cocktails. The sangria cocktail was delicious although the mint garnish was wilted. The Pi Ravs were recommended to us by the waitress. We received two large stuffed noodles, breaded and deep fried on a bed of sauce. They were not ravioli shaped and difficult to cut but were tasty . We ordered two small pizzas, one deep dish and one thin crust. The deep dish was a stuffed pizza, very good, more filling than dough. The thin crust was also delicious, very crispy. The toppings all tasted very fresh and flavorful. Nice casual setting. Will definitely be back!

Enjoy a pie and ease your mind as your tastebuds enjoy the cornmeal-crusted flavor-bursting pies. Famished from our downtown adventures, we took a chance on a familiar logo from St. Louis. We were not disappointed. The sleek layout of the place drew us in, and when they told us they allowed dogs we couldn't help but order a few drinks. They even had a doggy-bowl. We were greeted by a friendly native of the area, Kristina. Not only was she an expert server, but she gave excellent service. Our dog liked her too. The culinary delights are well-priced, along with a selection of great local craft beers and wines. Looking to satiate our stomachs, we ordered the "Kirkwood". Made with savory meatballs, and just the right mix of red pepper and basil, it was nearly gone in the first 10 minutes. Not only do they have a variety of pies, but they offer different sizes to fit your hunger, and your wallet. No need for individual slices here, the whole pies are made hot just for your party. We are looking forward to coming back to the Pi Pizzeria, and enjoying more deep dish delights!

Had gluten free pizza from here. We were so happy that gluten free was served here! I love the selection we had to choose from to create our own pizza, but the pizza was just sort of average. The crust was falling apart and it just wasn't that appetizing. But the atmosphere was fun and we love the patio. Service was great too, but was hoping for better food quality. We may try it again because can anyone can make a mistake.

If you are looking for expensive pizza, this is the place for you. I would call the pizza average compared to places like Dewey's and Mellow Mushroom. I'm not at all saying the pizza is bad, it's simply over priced. My only recommendation would be to split with who you go with and get the thin crust. The deep dish pizza is fine on the inside but the exterior crust is extremely dry and not good at all. The thin crust that I tried this visit was good but was also $18 for a small pizza. Another tip would be to order a small salad for lunch instead of pizza. A coworker of mine ordered the small salad and it was massive. 3 people could have shared that salad. All in all, it is a nice place to grab pizza downtown, but expect to have a hefty bill as this place isn't cheap.

Let me start this review by saying that I don't really care for pizza. I can maybe eat it once a month. This place is the BOMB! This will be my new pizza place of choice! I can't wait to take my carb/cheese/pizza craving husband here. I stopped in with some friends before a concert and they were gracious enough to grab a reservation for us(if you have a large party). I will say that the deep dish pizza is VERY filling. We split the small and I was super full. Their thin crust pizza crust is naturally vegan and if you call ahead they will make a vegan deep dish crust for you, it just needs time.

I experienced Pi as part of large group for dinner. The food was respectable. Honestly, I would have liked to try more things on the menu, because the options looked great. I was happy with my pie and I think everyone in our group was pleased with their meal. However, it will take a bit of persuasion for me to return. Our service left quite a bit to be desired. Yes, they had opened maybe a month prior to our visit, but: it was evening, during the week, we were literally the only customers in the place. We had people join our group after we ordered (clearly in eye shot of the staff and had to walk past the hostess) and they eventually had to walk up to the bar to get a menu and drink. Our checks all got confused-which I get for a large party, but when you've got nothing else going on, I'm a bit less forgiving. We also had difficulty splitting things on bills, which, at a new pizza place, I would expect to have no difficulty. Hopefully, with time, they can work this out. As others noted, the prices seemed a bit steep for a pizza. The location makes it convenient for lunch, and it would be a good stop before an evening event downtown. Parking can be a bit of a pain with the new meter hours and such. I feel like Cincinnati does a decent job with pizza, so the market is already competitive, and honestly, my experience at Pi didn't give me much of a reason to betray my standards, even if I would like to try a few more things on the menu.

This place is legit! Great atmosphere, the wings were the best I have ever had and the pizza is delicious in either style you choose, deep dish or thin crust! The staff had their usual mid western charm and coming from NYC being treated with such kindness was a special treat. You know you're not in Kansas anymore when the waitress asks "do you want a coke to go?" Anyone who is visiting needs to try this place out you leave with a fully belly and good state of mind!

Pi is a St. Louis pizza chain that opened in downtown last year. The pizzas offer a cornmeal-based crust which was a major selling point in us trying it out. The decor is trendy, dimly lit and intimate. It is appropriate for happy hours, lunch, dinner or a first date. I recall it being a bit noisy but that was expected on a busy Friday night around 8pm. We started off with an appetizer of chips and homemade dip and also ordered beers. Pi has a decent selection of beer and somehow has Shlafly beer available which isn't distributed to Ohio. The apps were good and so was the beer. Our waiter was knowledgeable and very friendly My friends and I got two pizzas which was a huge mistake. We were stuffed and had lots of leftovers. A major point that I'll ding Pi for was pricing. A large gourmet pizza (12-14 inches, I believe) was about $24. A medium (9 inches) was around $18 to $20. I understand pricing in the downtown market but this seemed like gouging to me. When all was said and done the chip appetizer, six beers and two pizzas totaled a pretty staggering some of almost $90. The cornmeal crust honestly wasn't as good as I expected. It was different and I was glad I tried it but it didn't wow me. Having said that I can't justify being a frequent customer for that price. Maybe I'll jump in for happy hour and a quick beer or app but not a full blown meal unless it is an occasion worth shelling out extra money.

I've only ever experienced Pi via carryout and on the company dime but now that we've switch to Pi Pizzeria for our pizza lunches at the office (whoops - pardon my drooling), I eagerly anticipate being able to stuff my face with slices of: Maplewood (mozz, spicy sausage, cherry pepper, fontina, basil) Lincoln Park (mozzarella, zucchini, tomato, feta, basil, garlic olive oil) Central West End (mozzarella, prosciutto, goat cheese, tomato, red onion, arugula) Grove (mozzarella, sopressata, red chile, oregano, spicy tomato sauce) I'm pretty sure I'm missing a couple of other specialty pizzas but you get the sense that Pi has pizza for those with the more adventurous palate. Honestly, they're all delicious. At most pizzerias, I have a go to favorite. With Pi, I have to rein in my desires to get a slide of each pizza we order as to not come off as a pizza loving glutton. :( Unfortunately, I've only ever had their thin crust pizza... hopefully I'll mosey on down to East 6th when it warms up to try their cornmeal deep dish crusts. I expect that any update to this post afterwards will be filled with glowing praise!

Pi Pizzeria is a small St. Louis based chain that recently opened a restaurant in downtown Cincinnati's AT580 building. They specialize in cornmeal deep dish pizzas, with the sauce on top of the cheese and toppings. Our arrival at 7pm on a Friday night was unsurprisingly met with a wait for a table. Fortunately there were enough seats at the spacious bar for our group to get a couple of drinks and split a few pizzas. Speaking of drinks, the craft beer menu is pretty solid with at least a few choices in each of a handful of styles. My wife and I ordered a large sized south side classico pizza with mozzarella, sausage, mushroom, green pepper, and onion ($22.95). For my taste the cornmeal crust was much too thick, and I preferred the slices of thin crust that others in our group ordered. With that said, the sauce was good and the toppings were all great. For my money, I prefer the stuffed pizza from Mio's to this cornmeal based deep dish, and I will stick to the thin crust pizza from Pi on future visits.

I found this place by luck via Yelp and am so glad I did. I don't think it's the prettiest place. The pi idea is cool. But it's not really utilized. The decor is dark. Black and grey, actually. And I'm not really one to mention decor much. A little red. Checkered napkins are a cute touch. But, so what? Onward! Our waiter was the best. He was funny and cute and helpful. Patient and listened to my food needs and my friend's many food questions. Cornmeal in pizza crust. An interesting idea. They have Daiya cheese! Vegan cheese! And goat cheese! And, a novelty for meat lovers, goetta. Turns out, a deep dish pizza uses butter in the crust. A regular pizza does not. Thank goodness. We placed our complicated order (they do half and half pizzas) and waited. It didn't seem long before a woman came out to apologize that our pizza had been messed up and they had to start over. I suppose we're patient people because it didn't seem long at all before it was there. The pizza! Thin, crackling, textured. The sauce, good. The cheese and toppings good. Delicious. I like a thinner crust. I understand not everyone does. To me, this was perfection. A new favorite. Amazing. I might switch my toppings next time. But that crust. My friend didn't feel the same. He got sausage and felt it was too delicate a flavor for the pizza. It seemed to me he also had a lot of other toppings, but, what do I know? I don't eat sausage or the things he was eating. I would eat it every day if I could. My friend said he would try it again but only deep dish and with different toppings. A large regular crust was good for two regular sized people. I didn't eat all mine. He ate his. As for the bill, when it came, they told us it was taken care of, and, to our surprise and delight, it was. So, we tipped pretty well because of the excellent service and great experience. (Their music was excellent. They played The Gaslight Anthem.) I hope they open a restaurant further north. I'd love to be able to eat some Pi without going Downtown! Oh, of course they have real pie, too.

Pi pizza was a great place to go on a warm summer night in Cincy. We got the Central West End pizza on deep dish--large to share among two people. It was a great, filling pizza and the atmosphere on the street outside the restaurant was great. The server was fine and we got our food in a reasonable period of time. For dessert, we got the chocolate skillet cake, which was underwhelming. Not worth the cost.

My mom and brother happened to plan their weekend visit for "Pi Day", so we were on a mission to find the most pi-appropriate restaurant in Cincy. I hadn't heard of Pi Pizzeria, so I was just tickled to come across this place. It's downtown, so parking can be a bit tricky. There was also a St. Patrick's Day celebration going on, so we almost gave up, but lucked out at our last circling of the block. I started with the Soul Survivor cocktail, which featured chile-infused tequila. The spice was a bit too much for me, so the waitress was nice enough to offer a replacement drink...The Pi^2 was much more up my alley. We started with the Not-So-Cinis, fontina, mushrooms, and kale in a spicy tomato sauce. These had just a touch of spice and somewhat of an earthy flavor. I didn't enjoy them overly much. For our entree, we shared the Create Your Own Deep Dish Cornmeal Pi. I was surprised to see Match Vegan Italian Sausage on the menu, so we definitely requested that topping - I've never seen Match Meats on a restaurant menu before. The pizza was okay, although I felt like it definitely could have been cheesier. To wrap up our Pi meal, we also had a Slice of Pi, apple pi, cornmeal crust, and crumb topping. This was a very appley pie. All in all, I'm happy to have found the perfect Pi place, but I found the food somewhat lacking in flavor.

Loved it! We went in on a Saturday for lunch during the All Star Weekend and I was pleasantly surprised at how empty the place was. It seemed to fill up as we were leaving. I came here expecting Chicago deep dish and while that's not what I received, I wasn't disappointed by any means. To start with, the deep dish didn't take the typical baking time I expected - we had our meal about 15 minutes after ordering. We created our own pizza with spicy sausage, green peppers, and basil. Everything about this pizza made me happy. Perfect amount of cheese, delicious sauce, just enough spice to the spicy sausage, and an amazing cornmeal crust that held its shape. Overall, the pizza wasn't too greasy or "heavy". Definitely will be making another trip here.

I had some disappointment here. Years ago, I visited a Pi pizza in St Louis and loved it. I was so excited that they had come into Cincinnati. I remember my last visit well, so I was doing a lot of comparing here. Cincinnati actually has good pizza, so if I'm coming into town, I'm eating all my favorite places. The problem is - this place ends up ranking low on the list of pizza places in the area for me. Service was fine and the place was a bit empty on a Saturday evening. They have a nice selection of beers - I will say that is nice. We started with the garlic bread which I was excited about - the Pi Pizza in St. Louis came with fresh roasted garlic we spread on the bread. Not here. We got some warm bread and butter. Nothing special at all. Our pizza was good, but again, less than memorable. We did a custom pizza, so we didn't get one of the specialities like we did last time. I didn't love the crust as much, and it was missing something. That something was probably the provel cheese, a St Louis thing. I don't know, it wasn't bad, but I wouldn't be running back to this location.

Pi Pizzeria is everything. To begin, this has been one of my favorite joints for a long time. I started going to District of Pi in DC and loved it - great vibe, great prices, and amazing deep dish. They had a great craft beer selection, cocktail selection, and other dishes like appetizers and salad so I was thrilled when I saw signs for this opening. I ordered the Bucktown, which is a classic Pi pizza but this menu also has other Cincy creations. The pizza tastes just as good as it was in DC - quality ingredients, big deep dish with cornmeal crust. (Note that a small pizza is good for two.) I had also started with mussels made in a broth of garlic, spinach (or cilantro?), and cougar blonde ale. Both were perfect for a Monday evening -- they also have spicy pickles and all sorts of goodies on their menu that I cannot wait to try (including beer and cocktails). Location is great - right downtown, seats about 100 people. Very modern and trendy inside. This is perfect for groups, friends, families, and for a date if you sit at the bar. I'm exciting for Cincinnati to get a slice of this pie!!!!

This was a pleasant surprise. Expected it to be just ok and ended up really liking it. The one downside is that it is very loud. We started with the garlic bread which was unexpected but delicious. It was basically make your own and came with a whole roasted garlic clove and delicious butter. Yum!! We also had the Pi ravioli. It was awesome. Fried and served in a hearty tomato sauce and sprinkled with sea salt. Wow were the favors outstanding. I have not had a deep dish that I particularly liked but this one was great. First off you can get half and holds which is my favorite! We tried half BBQ chicken and half meatball. I wasn't expecting it but I loved the meatball. We also tried the thin crust in a half maplewood and half Hill. They were pretty tasty as well. We will be back.

Pi Pizzeria is a great more affordable option for downtown dinning. Originally out of St Louis, their name come from St Louis' area code which is 314. They offer regular crust as well as deep dish pizzas in a cornmeal crust. I first visited Pi before catching a show at Aronoff. We were able to be seated immediately and even though we ordered a deep dish pizza which can take a bit longer to cook we were still our in a timely fashion. We ordered the Bucktown which came with mozz, roasted chicken, artichoke, red pepper, green olive, red onion, feta, sundried tomato. We got a small and split it between two people. It was more than enough for two. They also have a great selection of beers on a tap. All and all it was an excellent experience and a great addition to downtown.

After coming across this pizza spot that offered gluten free pizza on urban spoon months before it actually opened I was anxiously awaiting its opening. I'm always game to try new gf pizza especially if they offer great pizza for everyone else in the group. We called in takeout: a large the grove and a gluten free with wild mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes. When I picked up the pizza the host read the order as 1 large grove and 1 large gluten free. I confirmed that one was gluten free as the box just read "thin." It was a relatively slow night as it was a Sunday relatively early evening. We got home and I dug into a slice while my fiancé finished a few things before joining me for pizza. After one slice of what was hands down the best "gluten free" pizza my fiancé noted thT our pizzas looked exactly the same. I called pi to confirm whether the two just looked the same - gf and regular - and she then confirmed that she had messed up and given me regular. While my fiancé's pizza was awesome and it was a really modern meets industrial fun environment - unfortunately mixing up gf and non is a game changer for some people. Especially when you pay close to $50 for two pizzas. They had a great looking bar and I think we will eventually get around to giving it another shot but I doubt I would trust their takeout again. Unfortunately - it comes in at a 2!

Just not a big fan of this pizza. Stopped in with a group after an Aranoff show. Server walked us thru menu and offered her suggestions which was nice. Beer selection is pretty good. We decided on The Hill pizza which is one of their thin crust. They are known for their deep dish pizza which is not quite as deep dish as Chicago style but similar idea. The Hill was pepperoni, salami, pepperocini, green pepper, onions, and kalamata olives (I think that's it as far as toppings go). It wasn't a bad pizza, I'm just not a fan of the cornmeal they rub on the dough that flakes off and creates a unique, crispy texture. There just wasn't a lot of flavor to the pizza, either, despite being covered in toppings. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. Our large pizza cost over $20 which didn't seem worth the end product.

During a recent trip to Cincinnati, my boyfriend and I stopped into Pi Pizzeria. We were seated quickly in an almost-empty restaurant. It was unseasonably cold in Cincinnati so we were a little disappointed to sit in freezing cold metal chairs. Nonetheless, our waitress was nice and the beer list was satisfactory. She managed to overflow my boyfriend's beer, but she was apologetic enough and cleaned up the mess. We started off with the garlic bread and it was DELICIOUS! They serve sliced crunchy bread with a full head (?) of roasted garlic. The garlic inside was green, and our server didn't know if that was the usual for roasted garlic or if they did something to it. Either way, it was amazing. We ordered one of the specialty pizzas - we believe it was called the Hill. It was very tasty and the crust was delicious. Even for a couple of of pizza lovers, the large was a little bit much. The restaurant was fairly expensive, but not shockingly so for a downtown location. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and had a good time. I'd go again if I were in the area, if for nothing else, to eat all the garlic bread.

Great pizza, and the pickle appetizer is wonderful.

Pi Pizza is the best pizza in Cincinnati! Yes I said it, as a long time Dewey's fan, I feel Pi blows all Cincinnati pizza out of the water. Over the past two months I've enjoyed Pi's appetizers, salads and pizza - deep dish and thin crust in the restaurant for lunches & dinners and work carry out, as I work a block away & closest venue to great food. They use the freshest ingredients and cut all of the vegetables in everything by hand. Start out with the Not so Cini's appetizer, note they are addicting - you can't have one & you will crave for more - fontina, mushrooms, kale, breaded then baked, spicy tomato sauce. Then you move on to their Salads, which are the freshest in town. They are also huge, when you order a large, there's enough for 4 people to share. Small is quite generous for 1-2 to enjoy. The Simple salad, greens, carrot, tomato, cucumber, white balsamic vin is simple, but love how the vegetables especially the carrots are cut and the dressing is amazing. Then you have the finest Kale salad in town, tuscan kale, quinoa, toasted chickpeas, pickled red onion, almonds, tomato, buttermilk dressing Other faves are: Greek Green, chopped romaine, artichoke, red pepper, kalamata, feta, green goddess dressing and the Bada Bing, field greens, toasted almonds, gorgonzola, dried bing cherries, with raspberry vinaigrette. You can just come and have salad, you feel healthy and full, but then you must enjoy the star of the show - Pi's pizza. Both the deep dish and the thin crust are good & if you take it home or back to the office the smell is amazing - everyone will wonder what you have or at our office now, we know the smell & wonder what you've had at Pi that day. I love their deep dish cornmeal crust - just right, not heavy, their sauce is amazing and fresh veggies, none finer in town. Note the sizes of the pizza are also generous and enough to share, so great for a group. They're also great if you see a pizza on the deep dish, but you want it as thin or vise versa they will make it for you, plus great with adding & substituting toppings. All of the pizzas are good period. I also have a co-worker who's vegan and she loves the vegan options, they have vegan cheese & vegan sausage - her family who are all vegan now ask her to bring home carryout at least once a week. Plus they have one of the best craft beer selections in town, another winner, Rhinegeist, MadTree, West 6, plus since Pi is HQ in St. Louis they have a variety of Schlafly on draft, plus one made just for Pi. Their service is amazing from the time you walk in the door, promptly greeted and seated, all of the servers I've had are friendly, accommodating and the kitchen brings out the food as its ready. Pi is a welcome addition in downtown Cincinnati. In the spring they will have an outdoor patio, which will wrap around the 6th & Main corner.

Pi Pizzeria Cincinnati - Worst dining experience ever. I would give Pi negative stars if I could do so. First, they put the wrong ingredients on our pizza, so I sent it back to get one with the correct ingredients. Then the server starts arguing with me about whether or not I ordered an ingredient that I loathe and despise. Since when are servers allowed to escalate a bad situation by arguing with a customer about whether they ordered something or not, especially an ingredient I would never in my life eat much less order. This server should be sent packing with no references. Avoid Pi at all costs.

Like many we were excited that a GF friendly pizza spot was opening downtown. After a late meeting we walked over to give it a try. The service from the staff was very superficial, it was like this was everyone's first job waiting in a restaurant. It is not as if they were not well intentioned but they didn't create a warm welcoming environment. If something does not change I'm afraid they will not be long for downtown. When we left we both concluded that it was an okay place but we will not be rushing back soon.

Glad the STL staple made their way to Cincy. A great unique type of Pie. Food and service were good. Cocktail game was pretty solid

This was my first time here and my pizza was awesome! Great service, very nice atmosphere. I'm glad I went. I had the "kirkwood" mozzeralla, meatballs, very very tasty. Crust was awesome too. Nice crowd there and things were running very smoothly for the first week open. Go check it out! The individual was way too much for one woman. I split it with my friend and I still took a piece home for later!

Outstanding in every way...service, atmosphere and, most important, the deep dish pizza. Highly recommend Pi!

Thought we'd attempt to eat in, after our poor experience with carry out. Eating in was just as disappointing for different reasons. Many basic things that should have happened with regard to the service didn't. The biggest offense, however, was getting the bill and being charged .99 for tomatoes and an additional .99 for croutons that I asked to be added to my salad. People switch up salad ingredients all the time. I can't recall ever being nickled and dimed like this. It is rude and insulting and if that is their policy, then the staff needs to inform customers to make sure it is acceptable.

So glad they opened up downtown! We ordered the kirkwood, which is deep dish pizza with meatballs and a cornmeal crust. One of the best pizzas in downtown Cincinnati! It's walkable for us so it will probably become our go to pizza place!

My husband and I went to Pi Pizzeria for dinner on 05/08 and we LOVED it. The food was great and our server, Kristen was very personable and knowledgable about the menu. We got salads (he had the BLT, I had the Kale-Ifornication) both were very fresh and delicious. As for the pizza, we got the South Side Classico. It was absolutely wonderful! I am pretty picky about sauce portions and there was the perfect amount! The crust was also incredible, the perfect consistency and cooked to perfection. I officially have a new favorite pizza place in the city. They also have an excellent craft beer selection and some really creative cocktails. I tried the Bitches Brew. It was a perfect drink for the warmer weather. We will definitely be going back. It far exceeded our expectations and was a perfect way to spend the evening!

I wanted pizza on Sunday. I wanted amazing crust, chunky sauce, and loads of cheese. I was in luck because Pi was still open. The thing about Pi is that once you even think you might want it, you have to have it. I lived in Chicago for a few years and, though this place is out of St. Louis, it takes me back. I actually think the cornmeal crust is better than anything you can get at Gino's or Lou's. Don't limit yourself to the pizza, though. They have great mussels and other appetizers. They have their own commissioned beer that I think is perfect with pizza. They also have a chocolate dessert that will soothe your soul and tell you you're pretty. When you combine all of this in a downtown joint that also has a really friendly staff that is obviously knowledgeable and excited about the food they serve, you have a restaurant that I hope sticks around for a very long time. Keep up the great work, Pi folks!

After Chi-nnati's closed, I couldn't find cornmeal crust anywhere in Cincinnati, so I was excited when Pi opened. My coworkers and I walked here for lunch recently and were very impressed. The server was super friendly and attentive and had good recommendations. We ended up getting a plethora of things... the simple salad, garlic bread, and the Shenandoah pizza. Salad = simple, yes, and delicious. Garlic bread came with a whole head of roasted garlic, which made us all v happy. And the pizza... good Lord. So good. It was sweet and salty with a frittata topping. I could eat it for every meal (and I did eat it for lunch and dinner that day because it was quite filling!). My coworkers and I are actually ordering it into the office today via 53T Courier and I can. Not. Wait. My only gripe is that Pi is a little pricey, but worth it every once in awhile.

Not.a.fan. When walking past the restaurant, the food that people inside were eating looked sooo good! I tried a salad, and my co-worker chose a pizza. My eyes started squinting at one point because my salad tasted like nothing but vinegar. An hour after eating I could still taste it. My co-worker ate 1 piece of the pizza (thick crust) before saying that she couldn't eat any more. I can't say that I would even be willing to try this place again, as it is a bit pricy for terrible food.

The hype is real people -- this place really is *that* good! The pizza has fresh ingredients, great ambiance, as well as a large selection of alcoholic beverages (according to my 21+ year old friends). The deep dish and flat pizza both offer two unique textures. I have nearly tried every type of pizza they have on the menu and I have never had one that I didn't like. A personal favorite of mine is the Bucktown.

It's been a year since I've been back in the Cincinnati area and I'm so excited to find so many new restaurants and bars have popped up. Great selection of craft beers and modern menu with plenty of vegetarian, vegan, gluten free options. I split a small veggie pie - the Lincoln Park - but on the cornmeal crust which I HIGHLY recommended. I'm not sure what else to say except Pi Pizzeria has really, surprisingly good pizza. They have other locations in St. Louis, Miami Beach and DC, so good to know there's plenty of Pi to go around!

Great Deep Dish that is very difficult to find in Cincinnati. Similar to a Chicago Deep Dish, Claims it is St. Louis style, and as a Cincinnatian, there are subtleties that I'm not sure I recognize. Deep, with the toppings being bottomings, cheese deep, tomatoes top-side. Very surprised that it came out in about 15 minutes! It was a 9" "Small" pie, but I figured it would take longer. When I get a deep dish in Chicago, it's usually a 45 minute thing. But it was cooked through, and really good. Taste and crust were tasty. Atmosphere was trendy-ish, although the first thing you see when you walk in is a big sign that says "CLEAN BATH ROOMS" ...a little weird? It was a little pricey, but still good. I had 1 beer and and a small "specialty" pizza, the South Side Classico ($17.95) and it was $30.51 ($25.51 prior to tip).

All I can say is "yes please". Everything was fresh and delicious. Have the Maplewood pizza and the hard pear cider or ginger beer
