We arrived shortly after open time. The hostess didn't crack a smile. I asked if we could sit by a window in a booth and was told no, that area is closed off. Our waitress didn't seem to be happy to see us either. She didn't introduce herself and walked away from our table so fast each time, I could barely catch her name on her nametag. Luckily the tortilla soup was fabulous as it has always been over the years. My black bean rollups lacked presentation and i'm pretty sure I just received regular ranch vs. Chipotle ranch. The service was fast and the fresh baked cookies were delicious. ..but she forgot our milk:( overall, the food was good but the service needed a smile.

We came to eat about 1 1/2 hrs before closing and the place was a mess. Dirty tables that stayed uncleared the entire time we were there, food on the floor. They were out of a lot of key items such as their tortilla soup and the dessert I had a coupon for. What I had was good at least, chicken caprese sandwich and strawberry lemonade. Service was OK.

The food was delicious, and hot. Philly steak sandwich was perfect. I judge by fries, crisp with a soft potato center. Good flavor without extra salt or seasoning. The con is the wait was 30 min on a Saturday night. Not bad, right? Only six-8 tables eating and still a wait??!!! Hostess said "kitchen backed up and not enough staff". We waited in bar and ate there before 30 min. Must have been one of those nights but several others left.

Wow, this place is just awful. I felt like I had stepped into the Twilight Zone or something and ended up in the land that time forgot, because that's how long we were there waiting for our food. Yikes. First I'll say, over the course of being on this site I have given a very low number of one star reviews. I don't like to speak badly of a place unless it really gives me a reason to. This location is an odd one, and maybe that's why its such a weird place? I have no idea but I'll get to it and explain. My mom and I decided to go grab some lunch and we were actually surprised to see a Max and Erma's over in this part of town. We had our minds set on some yummy cookies, and our tummies were grumbling. We walked in and were sat right away at the bar. It was around lunch time, and there were maybe 5 other people in the entire restaurant. Oh one other thing to note, is that this location is attached to a Holiday Inn. I'm guessing that could be where some of the weirdness begins... We are looking at the menu and several of our favorites are not on there. We are pretty confused because they are what we have always ordered. Apparently this location is different than the others or they have just changed their menu like last week or something. Our server was very nice and prompt with her greeting. She took our drink order and then gave us some time to look over the menu. I ordered a bowl of tortilla soup, with a pomegranate Italian soda. My mom ordered a salad and a glass of water. I swear to you, it took approximately 45 minutes to get our meal. A SALAD AND BOWL OF SOUP!!! What the hell??? Did they have to go pluck some lettuce from a farm up the road and milk the cows for the milk to make the cheese that went into both the salad and the soup? Good Lord above my belly was rubbing blisters on my back bone, and the drinks...oh don't even get me started on those. My drink was terribly sour and tasted just...wrong. I don't even know how to describe it. My mom made a face when she tried her water, and for the life of me, I just don't know how anyone can mess up water! It tasted like someone ran a mile or two and wrung out their sweaty socks in the glass. Did I make you gag?? Good! Then you know exactly how our experience with this M&E's went. I will never come back to this location again, even if they are offering free kittens playing with ipads on an Ikea couch in the lobby. No. Just no. Go to the White Castle up the road. I assure you, your experience and your day will be much better.

This is not the max & Erma's I remember from other locations. Slow service, greatly reduced menu and a Max & Erma's without the salad bar? I won't be back.

Worst service I have had in a very long time. I'm from Columbus the home of max and ermas. I'm ashamed of this location. Came in at 9pm and got out food at 10:10. There where 3 people at the bar.... Not crowed at all. Server was horrible and rude. Refill rating = 0 out of 10. I should never have to ask for a refill on my coke. No tip for you

Sat there for about ten minutes while they were dead and waitress never even came over to say hello, let alone take our drink order. We got up and left because I'm not chasing people down for service. That's what happens when you don't check yelp first. Off to Red Robin! Date of visit: 9/6 @ 6:40

Contrary to other reviews, my family and I were very satisfied with our entire dining experience. With 4 kids in tow we were seated promptly, our drinks were brought out quickly and never allowed to get empty. Our server was very polite and quick to respond to all my children's requests. Our food was very fresh upon arrival at our table. We were given a heads up before our meal began on a Saturday night that the restaurant was short staffed. If they had not told us we would have never known. My family and I will definitely return if ever at the adjoining hotel again.

Service fine. I came here because Google said it had some local brews on tab, not true. I can't believe I'm about to pay $10 for this terrible club. I will not return.

So we went in max and ermas despite the terrible reviews I've read about this location to see if they were true. They were all correct. Absolutely terrible service. Now, as me have being a executive chef for years and in the business for 17 years I can say it was dreadful. My wife, a bar manager and in the business for the same 17 years as I thought the same thing. I used the stop watch on my phone just to get a actual time for service. We get there to be "greeted" by a bartender who was clearly in the weeds. (3 people at the bar and 2 tables) he was very adamant on how much he was not liking his job. So after about 7 minutes we received our beers then planned on ordering but said bartender disappeared for another almost 10 minutes. We ordered our food finally and it took about 13 minutes to get it which is right on standard time. Oh look, I was out of beer and we wanted to do some shots! As we were talking about what shots we were gonna order, we very clearly overheard the MOD say how much he hated his job. Yup. I mean it wasn't like he was working or anything so I wondered as to why he hated it so much? I got another beer and we never got to order the shots because, well, the bartender was not interested apparently. We noticed a lady at the bar waiting with her kids to speak to a manager. I'd say about 15 minutes of her just standing there (he was walking right past her the whole time) he finally stopped and spoke with her. she was obviously pissed and I'm sure for good reason. He told her that he was busy and he was sorry she had a bad experience. Now I'm completely sure he was anything but bullshitting this lady. She was not happy. I actually showed her the clock I still had running and said "honey I hear ya" sooooooo to make a long story short, we left. I have never been in such a Shitty restaurant in my entire life. Absolutely the worst. So as I was skeptical to see if the other reviews were correct or not, THEY WERE SPOT ON! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Seriously. You'll Tha k me for it.

Should have listen to the other reviews. Waited 10 minutes on a Monday night for the waitress to get my drink order. She/he never came before I got up and left, was not busy either.

New owners go out of their way to make sure your meal is done right. Still some issues with the server not checking the food properly but the owner makes up for that. Just tell him if your wait is long and he'll take care of you

I'm giving 5 stars not for the food (though the food was good) and not for the ambience (the restaurant is in a little bit of a no man's land off the interstate) but for the attentive staff. Our party was extremely well looked after by a waiter called Miranda. We ate here several times while staying at the holiday inn next door. Try the tilapia or the steak Laredo.

Food was ok, service polite but slow on a not busy Friday for lunch.

Can I give less than one star? We came to Cincinnati for a funeral and met the wife of the deceased with our two year old son for dinner in the restaurant in our hotel. Our expectations were very low, but we left angry and hungry. It took several minutes for anyone to come to the hostess stand and greet us, and two other parties were waiting behind us to put their names in. We were surprised to have to wait 10-15 minutes for a table in a restaurant that was half full, but figured it must not have been fully staffed (on a Saturday night?). While we waited, we watched the dirty tables sit there untouched by anyone. We were eventually seated, and we waited another 15 minutes to be greeted. We contemplated leaving, but decided that with a hungry toddler it was too late to go anywhere else. We had no kids menu, so I requested one. We were told they were out of milk, and the waitress gave me a blank stare when we asked what wines they had by the glass. I ordered a cocktail instead and she repeated it back to me wrong. 10 minutes later she returned with one glass of water and one child's juice for our 4 top. Our hungry toddler was getting cranky, so I asked if the kitchen was also running behind. The waitress said they were also very busy (restaurant was still half full) and that food was coming out slowly. We walked out. This debacle took 45 minutes, in which time we received 2 beverages that we didn't drink. My husband picked up a pizza and we ate it in our room. Stay away. This place should be ashamed to be open.

I don't know what is going on at this place, but I'm pretty sure neither Max nor Erma would be pleased. Typically, I like to go to places like Max & Erma's because I expect to get at least decently to maybe even pretty good food. When we go out with the fam, places like this are ideal because everyone can find something to enjoy. Except at this Max & Erma's. We went there tonight for my birthday dinner (yay!) and had a horrendous experience (not so yay). When we got there, there were maybe 3-4 other tables in the entire place. That felt like a winning situation for our party of 5. But, no. We were greeted in a reasonable amount of time by two serving staff. One of them appeared to be in training (though no one ever mentioned that). We quickly got drinks and were given a few minutes to look over the menu after ordering appetizers. And then things went downhill. It felt like we had to awkwardly beg the waiter to take our order after appetizers. We actually told them that we wanted to order (after waiting approximately 10 minutes after we had put in our appetizer order), and he picked up our drinks and refilled them. Are we speaking the same language? He finally, FINALLY took our orders. The appetizers came out and were tasty. We enjoyed them and then sat. And sat. And sat. And then we waited. And we waited. And we waited. AND WE WAITED. He came back and refilled our drinks a couple of times, but didn't acknowledge the fact that we had been waiting seemingly forever. I waitressed at one point, albeit briefly, but one of the lessons I learned is that most people are pretty forgiving if you acknowledge when there are problems and apologize for them. Our waiter did nothing of the sort. And again, there was hardly ANYONE else there. WHY was it taking so long? Our food finally did arrive and was cold. Are you KIDDING ME? My fries tasted like they had been sitting for a few hours. (Others in our party agreed). There was a general "staleness" taste to the food and I was very disappointed. I thought that maybe the steak that one of us ordered was the reason that everything came out slowly, but it was cold, too. The fried fish was hot, but that's just about it. COME ON! Meanwhile, a manager was walking around but never actually came by and spoke with us. Assuming he knew there was a delay, which i assume he did since his restaurant was empty, he could've made the situation a little bit better by at least stopping by and offering a quick apology. We saw another table sending their food back so maybe our waiter and the manager were solely focusing on that table. I have no idea what was going on. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. He came and we told him he needed boxes (I'm not sure why we wanted them other than I'm cheap and hate wasting food). He brought them a few minutes later and then disappeared again. Why wouldn't he bring the check when he brought us boxes? COMMON SENSE. We waited and waited and waited for seemingly the zillionth time before finally getting our bill. Our entire table actually thought our waiter was the one in training, but evidently that was not the case. Watch out, future Max & Erma's consumers if this guy is training the next generation. Several Max & Erma's around us have shut down recently and based on this experience, I have no idea how this one made the cut. The food was disappointing and I don't know what was going on with the staff. Even on a Sunday, I don't want my dinner to take that long. Next time we'll head to the White Castle down the street.
