Where else can you find two great men from history--Socrates and Edgar Allan Poe-- side by side? Only at Dewey's, which offers delectable and unique pizza creations. Dewey's offers excellent veggie options, like the Socrates Revenge & Killer Veggie. With a selection of sauces, toppings, and the ability to make your own pizza, Dewey's offers a little something for everyone. The staff is great- friendly, attentive, and super helpful for first timers like myself! A word of advice: get there early for dinner, especially on weekends. Be ready for a good 30-45 minute wait during rush---but believe me, it's worth it! You can grab some drinks and watch make the pizzas when you wait. Not being from Ohio, Dewey's was a new experience for me---and I'm so happy I've discovered it.I'm already planning another date with Socrates soon!

For years I wasn't a huge fan of Dewey's. I don't think Cincinnati has a ton of great pizza places and I wanted Dewey's to be the best and it just wasn't. I moved away and came back and I must say, my opinion has changed for the better with Dewey's. They have a really good dough to start and as a result, I really enjoy the crusts. Their toppings are fresh and high quality. I wouldn't say their pizza is authentic to Italy or anything like that and maybe that's why I was so ciritcal of them for so long. But, the combinations of pizza toppings they do offer are creative and quite tasty. They are definitely unique to Dewey's. The beer selection is also above average which in my opinion is a must at a pizza joint. Now when I crave pizza, it's usually Dewey's.

Dewey's is simply... delicious! While I haven't been able to try all of the different types of pizza (YET!), I am quite certain I will sometime in the near future. They have a plethora of vegetarian options, and if you don't like any of the ones they have listed, you can always make your own! My favorites so far: the green lantern pizza and the killer veggie. Yum! Their salads are extremely fresh and can be bought as a full size or a side salad. While I'm not a beer aficionado, they seem to have a smaller, but decent selection. If you are unsure of your choice, they will let you sample it first! Their desserts are equally delicious, and while they are not made in house, they are from local bakeries and pastry shops. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful, even when the place is packed. While I am not usually a fan of chains, I'm a big fan of Dewey's. Try it!

I was born and raised on Italian food in NJ, so I'm a snob about it. That being said, Deweys is (so far) my favorite pizza to eat outside of the east coast. The bacon tomato ranch salad is a great starter and my personal pizza of choice is half Ryans Inferno and half pepproni. The wait can be long but its worth it. Bar like atmosphere but not so noisy you have to yell at the other people at the table. Service is always good and for about 30 bucks for two people you can stuff yourself with delicious pizza, salad and drink.

I love Dewey's - and this being the closest location to our home, this is the one we end up at the most (even though the service at the one in Clifton is just phenomenal). The food is perfect - I always end up with the house salad (without pine nuts due to allergies - and I have never had a problem with a pine nut showing up or an allergic reaction so kudos!) and enjoy it so much. Their other salads are equally as good, but it is hard to get me away from the cranberries and goat cheese. Their salad mix is always fresh and good tasting - I have never had a bad salad here. The house dressing is also one of my favorites - as well as the apple cider vinaigrette when it's in season. The pizza is one of my favorites in Cincinnati - if not my favorite. I can never resist it. The crust is so good (if I get full I start pulling the crust off extra pieces) and the toppings are always of good quality and delicious. Their cheeses are amazing - we have tried almost all of them on pizzas - but goat cheese and smoked cheddar are our favorites. Canadian bacon is also some of the best in town. In terms of their special pizzas, I always enjoy the Billy Goat. The service is also great - but nothing in comparison to the Clifton location that refills your drinks like no other restaurant I've ever been to.

I give some restaurants five stars because I really, really like them and I give others five stars because I literally could not live without them. This is the latter. I have never had better pizza than this... Anywhere. One of my favorite things about Dewey's is how weird they can be, in a good way. Although they do have 'ordinary' pizzas, they always encourage you to try something different with their specialty and seasonal pizzas. I've never been anywhere else that offers a hotdog pizza (or even a pizza with mustard, for that matter), but I've heard that it was actually a great pizza. I'm really picky about what I eat, so the fact that they encourage unique pizzas is awesome. Where else can you get a black bean corn salsa, pine nut, barbecue sauce pizza with smoked cheddar and not even get a second look from the waiter? The salads are just as unique as the pizza, but like the pizzas, they do offer a peppercorn ranch salad (basically a garden salad) for the not-so-adventurous among us. My only gripe with the place is that when I order a salad and ask for mozzarella instead of Parmesan, they're very careful to word it "No Parmesan, add mozzarella" so they can charge you extra. A few words to the wise, get there before the usual dinner rush or be ready to wait 30-45 minutes. If there's a line, wait it out - it's totally worth it, plus you can watch them toss the pizzas while you wait! I go to college in Michigan, but fortunately, it's only a four hour drive to the closest Dewey's, otherwise I wouldn't make it through school!

Great pizza, especially for those who enjoy NY-style (though it's not exactly that). And tasty salads. And tastier deserts! Was recommended to me by a local friend. Would definitely go back. It was the best meal I had in Ohio.

So I live in Chicago now, surrounded by what is ostensibly the best pizza in the known world, especially according to aggressive guys with unironic mustaches and early-onset morbid obesity. At the risk of one of those guys putting me in a hammerlock, I contend that I've found nothing in the 312 better than Dewey's. I always thought LaRosa's was crap, even when I was a poor college kid, so I was happy when Dewey's arrived in town and swiftly laid claim to the local pizza crown. Their ingredients are fresh, their sauce perfectly spiced, their crust best described by another reviewer: "Thin and chewy and crispy all at the same time." There's not a flaw to be found. My favorite custom pizza was chicken, goat cheese and pine nuts with red sauce. Someday I will do something to become famous, and I will then force Dewey's to add this to their menu. It will be called "The DJ Fento." I'm reviewing the Oakley location, 'cause that was the one I frequented, but the Clifton, Newport and Harper's Point locations all put out the same great product (hello, quality control!).

A great place for fresh pizza. Pros: 1) Very unique pizzas 2) Fresh ingredients 3) Need to try Ryan's Inferno as well as any of the salads Cons: 1) Sometimes the service can be slow, but the staff is very friendly and professional 2) Its hard to fit decent sized groups

Dewey's is a staple in Cincinnati, but I never frequented it during the few years that I lived there. I have to admit, I was missing out. If you'll remember from previous pizza posts, I'm pretty picky about my pizza. I've reconciled my relationship with pizza by coming to the conclusion that there are really three categories: 1) American pizza, which covers the gourmet variety and anything that involves gorgonzola; 2) New York pizza, which is delicious and sold by the slice; and 3) Italian pizza, which is much more difficult to find outside of, um, Italy. Dewey's falls into Category 1, and it does a pretty good job of it, considering that Cincinnati is not exactly a bastion of good pizza. Dewey's offers stone-baked, hand-tossed pizzas accompanied by fresh seasonal salads and a great selection of microbrews. There are a slew of specialty pizzas to choose from - such as the Edgar Allan Poe, which features mozzarella-fontina, mushrooms, garlic, Kalamata olives, goat cheese and fresh tomatoes - as well as the option to make your own. I went for the make-your-own, adding prosciutto, pesto and fresh tomatoes to a basic margherita pizza. And it was delicious. Even the crust was good - buttery and soft on top, with a nice crisp on the bottom. The cheese was rich and flavorful, and the tomato sauce balanced the perfect amount of salt and garlic - no overly sweet Midwestern pizza sauce here. Even the house side salad was sizeable and tasty, a pleasant surprise considering that salad is all too often presented as a sad heap of lettuce. Instead, Dewey's served up a fresh pile of romaine topped with pine nuts, goat cheese and dried cranberries, dressed in their house balsamic dressing. Overall, Dewey's offers delicious pizzas that are made with care - unlike the heavy, cheese-laden pizzas served up by those at Mio's. The ingredients are good, the beers chosen tastefully, and the salads more than palatable. While I wouldn't take a trip specifically to Cincinnati to visit Dewey's, I would definitely put it on my list to revisit if I was already there. This review was published on spoonandforkdc.com

So yes it's a chain, but yet Dewey's seems different to me. This location is a little hard to spot. Google maps has it on the opposite side of the road, in the median. Just look for the awning. The door is on the side of the building off the alley/parking lot. Not the door in the front. The staff here is all incredibly nice and helpful and fun! They'll explain things to you if you ask, and if not, they'll find someone who does! They're very attentive without being overly in your face and annoying. They're almost perfect :) The only thing I don't like about this location is 1 that it's hard to find the darned place, and 2 the pizza window isn't where it can be viewed well from the dining room. I mean the window is over half the ambiance of a Dewey's!! But overall, one of my favorite Dewey's.

When it comes to pizza in the Cincinnati area, it does not get any better than Dewey's. And I'm not talking about delivery, but rather the kind of pie that you have AT the restaurant with your favorite adult beverage. Sure, it's a little more expensive than that crap from Domino's, but it's well worth it. The crust is hand tossed and you can watch the dudes who are doing the tossing through a window to the kitchen. And once your appetite is sufficiently worked up, get a salad to hold you over, they are pretty spectacular as well, and I would take the Greek salad and their creamy vinaigrette dressing just about any day of the week. The selection of toppings is unique and brilliant, my favorites are the Bronx Bomber, The BBQ Chicken (with black beans and corn) and I usually do my best to try the pizza of the month as well if I can. Most recently I had the Ballpark Pizza, which comes with italian sausage, onions, mustard and more. It might not sound great, but it's actually quite tasty. This is the original location, and is located in the heart of Oakley, right across from the 20th Century Theatre. If folks visit from out of town and want good pizza I take em to Dewey's every time.

Dewey's will always have a special place with me because it was the first pizza in Cincinnati I found that I really liked. In fact, I discovered Dewey's before moving to Cincy. This is our neighborhood location and it is definitely your typical Dewey's experience. The service is always helpful and polite...although I will admit to being slightly weirded out by the fact that multiple waiters serve each table. While the waitstaff is nice, for me it kind of takes away the tiny connection one makes with their server. The husband thinks it is more efficient so I'm sure that I'm probably the only person on the planet bothered by this. The food is always good and they have a surprising draft list. On my last visit I had a nitro Left Hand Milk Stout...it was smooth and delicious. The ability to order half and half pizzas no matter the sauce used (they have both a traditional red sauce base in addition to a white base option) is helpful since I often want a pizza completely different than the husband. They are masters of the half and half. You will find no errant mushrooms! They also have salads and calzones - but I haven't personally explored those yet. Despite it being on Oakley Square, we have never had issues parking and they have their own designated lot. Now I just have to try their ballpark pizza....

Decent beer selection, great salad, and good pizza (for Cincinnati). You really can't go wrong for cincy pie. Sometimes crowded, so I suggest off-peak times for the best experience. Take home a few slices for later and they're not good like they are hot out of the oven.

In my opinion, Dewey's has the best pizza in Cincinnati. Not only is it great pizza, but the salads are always fresh and flavorful too. I like this location better than some of the others (like Crestview Hills Town Center and the Levee) because it has more of a local feel being in Oakley Square. The staff is always friendly and attentive, and the beer selection is pretty unique. The bartenders have always let us sample a beer before ordering which is a nice touch too. The pizzas can be ordered by doing different toppings on each half. They have a white and red sauce, and you can even split the sauces which is nice if you want something completely different from your party. As others have said, it can get pretty crowded on the weekend nights so I try to go at 8:30pm or later to avoid a wait.

Always a favorite place to go when you just want excellent pizza, beer, and service. In fact going there tonight! Even though we're in chicago now, I still crave this pizza.

Gross. Worse than at home frozen pizza or the most foul cafeteria pizza. Chicagoans stay clear!! Now I understand why people go crazy over good Chicago style pizza of any kind, i.e. thin, stuffed, pan. And the salad was poor (candied walnut and goat cheese).

I adore Dewey's, and this location is no different! And it's a great neighborhood and location...adorable Oakley! What a consistently delicious and wonderful place to eat! I've never once had a bad experience at Dewey's...it's my favorite pizza on earth!! We've brought out of town visitors to Dewey's on more than one occasion, and they ALWAYS love it! The staff are always awesome...so friendly and professional and on their game. I can't eat somewhere that the staff sucks...just ruins everything. Dewey's staff is just icing on the cake of an already...really yummy cake? Haha! :) We usually end up with our usual order of a peppercorn ranch salad and a southwestern BBQ chicken pizza...and I'm never disappointed in my order because it's phenomenal. :) We've also tried Ryan's Inferno and the Green Lantern, both of which I can heartily recommend. I can tell you how amazing this place is, but really, let me just sum it up with this: I think we both secretly wanted to move back to Cincinnati just because we missed Dewey's so much. ;) There may have been other minor factors, but I think it tipped the scale for us. C'mon, just GO, and you'll know what I mean!!! :)

This was my families first experience with a truely unique pizza! There is every imaginable topping. The kids were fascinated watching the food being prepared.

The staff is friendly and very prompt, the salads are awesome, and the pizza is top notch. Not to mention the unique and ever changing draft beer selection. I've been a fan of Deweys for years and I keep coming back. Great date spot. I recommend the peppercorn ranch salad and a SW BBQ chicken pizza. A couple highlights that set them apart: Homemade dressings - In my humble opinion, you will not find a better ranch dressing. Anywhere. Period. Seriously take a couple home with you. Homemade marinara - just like it should be. Unique seasonal pizzas - Dr. Dre & Hamburger to name a couple. Garlic butter on the crust - smells amazing, tastes even better. The curly haired manager at Oakley - Uh huh. Come early on a Friday or be prepared to wait!

Their pizza is amazing - probably my favorite pizza ever! It's always fresh, delicious, and flavorful. Toppings are generous. They have a great selection for vegetarians, which is unusual. Their salads are also very nice. I just wish they delivered.

Growing up in Jersey City, we did not have a Dewey's. I grew up on New York style pizza, which is good in its own right. It wasn't until last year that I first tasted Dewey's, and I have been in Ohio for 8 years. I will tell you this is one of my favorite pizza places in Ohio. It is actually tied for the top spot. The pizza is excellent! My favorite is the BBQ chicken pizza. They have a salad that I really love, and that is the Candied Walnut and Grape salad. If you're ever in an area where there is a Dewey's, you must go.

I will get hammered for this by my friends here in Chicago, but this pizza trumps my love for deep dish. I have to stop here every time I come home to visit. The crust is thin and chewy and crispy all at the same time, and the sauces (red or white) are both wonderful. You can split the toppings half and half, which is great as well. I usually always get some sort of pesto specialty pizza with red sauce. The salads are delicious and fresh as they should be. They have a great beer selection, but be warned. Their pizzas are HUGE. So don't think that a medium pizza for two hungry people won't be enough. It will be. I know that most of the locations are always crowded all of the time. But when the food is good, the wait is worth it!
(5)
Sam N.
I hesitate to give this four stars due to the amount of unsupervised kids running throughout the restaurant...but the pizza is too good to give it anything less. Lots of vegetarian pizzas and interesting combinations. So much food and so worth the wait - and I guess the annoying kids. Maybe not a good spot for an intimate date though!

Dewey's pizza is orgasmic, simply put. I have to get my "fix" at least twice a month at one of Dewey's several Cincinnati locations...but I most recently (yesterday, actually) visited the Oakley location. Everything at Dewey's is great, I've tried a number of their pizzas and salads, but my all-time favorite Dewey's meal is as follows: A glass of Pinot Noir (the name escapes me but the location only has one Pinot offering currently) ordered before a side Peppercorn Ranch salad-although Dewey's has many delicious home-made dressings, the Peppercorn Ranch is the absolute best. Follow the salad with a Green Lantern pizza. This pie from heaven is made of Dewey's Red Sauce (spicier than your average tomato), garlic, mushrooms, goat cheese, pesto, and artichokes...all topped with a generous helping of mozzarella cheese. Dewey's never skimps on toppings and will more than happily bring you extra sauce for dipping, should you require it. For dessert, try one of the local Bonbonerie's delicacies...they change almost daily but I've had some amazing raspberry cheesecake at Dewey's before. If you really want to have a personal indulgence at Dewey's, skip the pizza and order a calzone (a bargain at $6.95) instead. "Individual" calzones are ENOURMOUS...average is a foot in length and four inches in height and stuffed with ricotta, mozzarella, and toppings of your choice. The best advice I have about this restaurant? Go to Dewey's HUNGRY. You can always take left-over pizza and calzones home, but Dewey's is really best eaten one time only. An additional word of advice about the Oakley location: the parking lot is too small for the restaurant, if you visit this place on a busy night (basically any night between 6-8pm) you may have to park across the street or on the street. Other notes: Dewey's offers take-out but not delivery :( ...I keep hoping, though!

If you wanna go to Dewey's clap your hands! If you wanna an awesome pizza stomp your feet! Dewey's Pizza (sigh), where to begin. Well, first, you're going to want to try their House Salad. This is no ordinary house salad with the romaine lettuce, grape tomato, shredded cheddar and sprinkle the crouton. Oh no sir! (and ma'am, to be PC). This House Salad is like no other. Spinach, goat cheese crumbles, dried cranberries, pine nuts and the perfect amount of dressing drizzled throughout. yum, yum, yum. As we move through the menu, you're going to want to order a pizza. *Note: DO NOT go to Dewey's and just order a salad. You will regret this silly little decision. Each month they have a 'Seasonal Pizza.' It's their fancy way of saying , "It's the Special." These are always good. But it's so hard to choose because they have the most amazing pizzas. My favorite is the Billy Goat. Goat cheese and vegetables. Healthy, healthy. Well, for pizza anyway. They have so many to choose from. What I really like about Dewey's is how they accomodate the pizza choices of the group. They allow you to split a pizza in half and order different toppings, etc. So, you can still stick to nice individual portion sizes, please your fellow dining compadres and split the bill. My only thumbs down about Dewey's is that the bar is beer only. However, Blue Moon is my beer of choice with any pizza. Overall, Dewey's is always a crowd pleaser!

There aren't many truthful slogans. But Dewey's really does deliver on its promise to take pizza to the next level (even if they don't actually deliver the pizza). From uniquely named specialty pies (The Edgar Allen Poe, the Bronx Bomber) to excellent ingredients (pesto, kalamata olives, goat cheese), Dewey's is to pizza what microbreweries are to beer: several steps above the big names. Speaking of which, they have good beers on tap (Bells, Ommegang, Southern Tier). Admittedly, if you just want crust, sauce, and cheese, this is not your best option. Dewey's would be tossed out of Italy before they could toss the dough; it just isn't classic pizza (try Via Vite if you want that). This is highly Americanized and gourmet-ized, as evidenced by options like pine nuts, artichokes, black bean salsa, and pineapple and their rather good salads (the house salad is a staple with our orders). I love almost every single Dewey's pizza (although I'm not a huge fan of the whole cloves of garlic on some varieties). I love it for dinner, I love it reheated for lunch, and I love it cold for breakfast. A pizza for all seasons.

There is no other pizza in Cincinnati like this. I do wish the Oakley location had a better waiting area/bar in the event you have to wait for a table. If it did, I would give them 5 stars! My personal favorite..the Edgar Allen Poe!

Great pizza and plenty of it. Comparable prices for a good pizza. Our waitress was good with refills and requests. The only problem was a large group of children running around the joint raising hell... Not the restaurants fault though.

Adam B.
Some of the best pizza I have ever had. From all the regular offerings to their seasonal pizzas to the options to make your own, Dewey's is always delicious. My favorite combo would have to be Olive Oil Sauce, pine nuts, roasted red peppers, Amish chicken & tomatoes. On top of all that, Dewey's keeps a solid 8 craft beers on tap that rotate each quarter.
(4)
Krista J.
I really appreciate the large variety of toppings, but I agree, it tastes a bit undercooked in the middle. We ordered the seasonal harvest salad and that was very good, and our server was friendly and walked us through the menu. I felt like we were the only people here without children in tow, and the noise level was high, so they weren't distracting. Net, this is a great place to bring kids.

What a dissapointment this location is versus several other Dewey's locations. First, as I walked across the floor, our feet stuck to it. On a bright, sunny day, you see how dirty this location is. When we went to sit down, one of the waitresses tried to beckon us to another table we didn't want to sit at (do they understand that customers pay the bills? Methinks not). Although the pizza was OK, just the dirty floor, obnoxious waitresses made it a giant dissapointment. It would be good if they 1) cleaned floors/tables 2)Instructed wait staff on service
(1)
Ruby D.
This is great for Cincinnati but weak if from NY or Chicago. Lots of different types of pies, but we stick with the basics. Sauce tends to be a little spicy with a bit of a bite. However, as mentioned here, the salads are very good. Wait staff is always very friendly and service tends to be quick and efficient.

5 stars. Easily. One of the best places to eat in Cincinnati. Giving this place 1 or 2 stars is laughable. That is simply incorrect and sad. Do I think this is the best pizza in Cincinnati? Yes. If you don't like fancy pizza I doubt you'll like it. If you just want cheese and pepperoni (like an 8 year old child at a birthday party) there are better options in Cincinnati. Lucy Blue, Ramundos in Mt Lookout, NYPD in Northside, LaRosas. But if you want unique, smart, delicious, quality pizza, Dewey's is it. The two that have always stood out to me were the Green Lantern and the Southwest BBQ chicken. Both are superb. The Billy Goat, Edgar Allan Poe, and Socrate's Revenge are also really good. And now there's one called Ryan's Inferno which sounds awesome. Those are just a couple of the specialty pizzas. There are others like the Wild Mushroom and Caprice which I'm not a big fan of but those are the pizzas of choice of a couple people I know. Oh yeah. You can make your own fancy pants specialty pizza with like 30 ingredients to choose from. Oh yeah again. They have excellent salads. The House salad I always thought was the best. And oh yeah again, they have really great calzones. I'm not saying Dewey's is better than NY pizza. Or Chicago pizza. I live in NY. I love NY pizza. What I'm saying is it is unique and consistently great pizza. Go there.

If you're in the mood for good pizza, but also would like a relaxing evening out to eat, Dewey's is a good place to go. One of my favorite pizzas is the Ryan's Inferno-- a buffalo chicken white pizza. Not only is the pizza delicious, but the salads are a good option and there are awesome beers on tap.

Great pizza, salads, and people! The Oakley location is the original location, and we've been going more-or-less since it opened. The location is nice. It's clean with a window into the kitchen. Great for kids who like to watch the pizza made--the bakers often throw flower at the window (much to my daughter's amusement. They have a bar with a few choices of wine and beer (some local microbrews). There is also a great selection of salads. All have gormet ingredients on them. The pizza, however, is the start of the show. The crust is light and warm. Not quite pastry-style, it really is good bread. Sauce choices are red sauce, or garlic and olive oil. Dewey's is the only place I know of that lets you ask for the sauces half-and-half. The toppings are both diverse and high in quality. You can easily do pizza classics (pepperoni, Italian, etc.), or make your own (with artichoke hearts, kalamata olives, and other great choices). I find the prices to be reasonable relative to other pizza places. They have several Cincinnati-are locations, as well as locations in St. Louis.

I love the Green Lantern. It is my fave pizza to order when in town visiting. I love the pizza here and it is a great place to bring out of towners looking for a good slice of pie. Although the beer selection is not extensive, the choices available are always tasty.

wow, I can't believe all the positive press on Yelp for Dewey's, this CAN'T be the best pizza in Cincinnati. We went last night and tried (hot & fresh, so not delivered or picked up) the Dewey's classic with Italian Sausage & the BBQ Chicken pizzas. Start with the Dewey's original first: First off, Italian Sausage is to be plucked by the pizza maker from bulk sausage, not the crappy little circles of what appeared (& tasted) like pre-cooked weak italian sausage. The dough, there was NO caramelization or blistering char that is present on good pizzas prepared in very hot ovens. The cheese, mediocre gooey bulk type The sauce - ok probably the best thing about the pizza. The BBQ Chicken was ok but certainly nothing to rave over as almost anything with BBQ sauce on it is good :-) Two stars is the most I can give, not worth going out of the way for. --

The best pizza! Great salads too. They have a window looking into the kitchen, so you can watch them make your pizza. My favorite is the Edgar Allen Poe, but so far everything I've ever had at Dewey's was delicious.

Great pizza, great location, great restaurant. I used to live next door to this place and would eat it probably every other week. I love that they can do half and half pizzas with two different pizza choices. My personal favs - Green Lantern, Bronx Bomber, and Socrate's Revenge. The salads are also great especially the house salad. The beer selection isn't too bad either.

When it comes to pizza, it doesn't get much better than Dewey's. Our usual is the Dewey's Original with pepperoni or the Caprice, both pretty plain as far as pizza goes but both fantastic. My fiancee is pretty lame when it comes to trying out different pizza's, but I did talk her into a Bronx Bomber once and we both enjoyed it very much. Their peppercorn ranch salad is a great starter, we usually split a regular before our pizza comes. They have a great selection of beers on tap, as well.

i love their salads and their pizza and their calzones. i love that you can get sauce other than red sauce and do the half pizza one kind and the other half another kind. i have always had the best service there. if there is anything wrong they are so quick to offer you a discount before you can even tell them something was wrong (i.e. pizza comes out with the salads instead of the salads first, a hole in your pizza, or something wrong with your bill). great cinci establishment.

I have been to Dewey's a few time now but I have to be honest, though their service is great, their pizzas are alright...edible.......nothing too exciting. I prefer mellow Mushroom pizza over Dewey's any day. Take for example, the wild mushroom pizza from Dewey's vs Mellow Mushroom's Holy Shiitake Pie pizza. The one from Dewey was lacking in flavor and the crust just tasted like any ordinary crust while the one from Mellow Mushroom had that exotic aioli & truffle sauce which makes it so delicious. Overall, my husband and I are very disappointed with the pizzas. Will not be returning.

PARENTS: YOUR KIDS ARE RUINING IT FOR THE REST OF US. The last few times l have been here the place is packed with kids not being monitored by parents. This is not Chuck Es. Tonight was last straw. Huge birthday party of 8 yo's running around the restaurant. I mean seriously. Places have private rooms. Don't know if it is the neighborhood? But my last visit at this Deweys.

I haven't met a pizza I haven't liked and Dewey's always delivers the yumms. Being originally from Cincinnati, I have a love affair with local small businesses that turns into over all successes. Way to go Dews! Dewey's pizza is different from those use to Donato's and Larosa's. Their crust is thinner, crispier and lighter. The toppings are always fresh and cooked to perfection. I love the creativity of the pizzas and the fact that they have rotating seasonal selections. I personally have enjoyed every pizza I've gotten, partial to the olive oil based ones that load on the veggies and cheeses. There a couple of them and each is delish: Wild Mushroom, Socrates' Revenge, Edgar Allan Poe etc....YUM! The salads are also incredible, my personal favorite being the House Salad, the name is basic but the taste is incredible. I'd recommend splitting a regular size with the table. The service is always great and they'll never let your glass go below half full which is appreciative. I use to order Dewey's routinely for my sororities dinner meetings and they've always been very accommodating and reliable, especially when you're trying to feed over 100 people at a time. Can't thank them enough for some how managing to stuff over 15 pizzas in the back of my Jeep Wrangler, props to the great staff.

I would give 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that there's a better place in Cincy to go. First off the customer service here is better than any pizza place I've ever been to. From the phone order I did to make my carry out order, to the nice lady cleaning the glass on the entrance door that held it open for me to let me in, to the 3 people that greeted me as I looked for the bar to pick up my order, to the nice manager lady that took my payment and offered me a drink. The food was done fast. I ordered a large 1/2 Dr. See and 1/2 Cuban pizza. (They will half and half anything you want which is cool). The pricing was great for a large mixed specialty pizza. $21 and some change. The crust is light and New York style thin. The toppings are okay. There's not a lot of cheese on the pizzas (even though one pizza I ordered had two types of cheese). Still is a very tasty and easy to eat pizza. If you live in the Norwood/Hyde Park area, I would say it's a touch better than Mellow Mushroom and better than anything in that area. Adriaticos still has my heart....and stomach. But this is a close second. *******note******* the Cuban is a seasonal that has pickles on it. Delicious.

Dewey's has hands down the BEST PIZZA in Cincinnati! There. I said it, and I stand by it. I feel like that's all you really need to know about Dewey's. First off, the Oakley location is awesome. They have nice friendly people that work here. I like to sit at the bar so I can get immediate attention if my beer starts to run low, if you know what I'm sayin. They have a lot of great beers on tap, including several local beers (Rhinegeist, Madtree, etc.). My fiance and I like different things, so we like to split the pizza. You can get two specialty pizzas (even with different sauces) on one pie for no additional charge, which is great if you have picky eaters in your group! We got the special of the week which was a taco pizza, and the Ryan's Inferno. My fiance and I LOVE anything that has buffalo sauce and blue cheese on it, and the Ryan's Inferno was just everything I could ever want in a pizza. Thank you, Dewey's, for combining chicken wings and pizza into one glorious perfect combination! Did I mention the crust?? So, I'm the kind of person that normally eats the toppings and leaves the crust at the end...But not here! Their pizza dough is the bomb dot com! Basically everything about their food is just done right. I wish they had delivery, but they don't so the only wait to get their pizza is to get it to go. When I was there there were several people getting pizzas to go, so I would recommend you call ahead. Overall, this place is awesome and definitely my favorite pizza in the area!

The last time that I went to deweys, it was about a year and a half ago and they had the Rocky Balboa pizza...which was awesome! It was basically a cheese steak pizza. Unfortunately, it was only seasonal. I had not been back to do with it since they did not have that pizza but recently I decided to venture in. And I'm glad I did, I actually decided to try something different and go with a calzone I had a pesto chicken calzone with mozzarella. it was a fanciful Trek through a culinary delight. Lol ok ok Food Network lingo aside it was pretty good :-) my friend had a salad, which was pretty big and the others shared some pizzas that were halved. The prices are middle of the road. I look forward to seeing what they will have next season.

Wild mushroom pizza.... is amazing. The crust, sauce, mushrooms.... OMG delicious. Salads are great. Beer selection great. Service is always good. Always leave full and satisfied.

Dewey's pizza! It's not like other pizzas out there. The crust is thin, both crunchy and chewy and fresh made. My favorite is the Dr. Dre-white sauce, chicken, peppers and bacon with ranch. You can get half and half, which we always do to try something new but also get our fix of the Dr. Dre. You can even get half and half with 2 different sauces. They have good IPAs on tap right now, which I love. Been there many times and it's never let me down!

The wall next to my seat was dirty with food smears and splashes of what looked like pizza sauce. The staff was snotty and rude. I hated going here (I was evaluating the restaurant so I had to, it was my job). The salads are amazing but everything else I find is always very bland. The manager was rude when I informed him I was charged for six drinks and only purchased two. I was happy the company I worked for was reimbursing me for every meal.

I just wanted to shoot this place a little love note and say I stopped in a few days ago for a carry out peppercorn ranch salad and they had it ready in three minutes!! I was prepared to wait and the manager ran it out with a friendly smile, rang me up and I was out the door. I have never had bad service at Dewey's and their peppercorn ranch salad is the bee's knees! Seriously, one of the best salads in the city for sure!

I absolutely love Dewey's pizza! It's a friendly atmosphere which is key for me! I'm all for traditional pizza sauce but if you have never tried the white Alfredo style sauce you will be in for a treat! The salads are delicious and the fresh dough-made calzones will keep you coming back for more! Don't hesitate to enjoy a glass of wine with your meal if you're of the age of course! They serve beer and wine for you to enjoy as well. Great for lunch mid-day meals and dinner! Bring your friends and family for a great treat!

This is the best pizza in Cincinnati. I love the Hawaiian pizza in a calzone, the Edgar Allen Poe pizza, the grape walnut salad, and the plain mozzarella-fontina blend pizza w/red sauce on the side. The Amish chicken is quiet fresh and lovely, too. Didn't love the meatballs here, though. I was expecting some homemade meatballs and I got this gnarly meatball that you know came from a processed food factory. Other than that strange blip, most things Dewey's Pizza have been legit from Day 1.

Dewey's Pizza is my first authentic Cincinnati experience! We arrived close to 8pm on a Thursday night and was told the wait would be around 10 minutes for a table for two. Busy, popping pizza restaurant on a weeknight? Seems legit. What makes Dewey's even more legit is that while we waited for our table, we were able to watch men kneading dough by hand to prepare the pizzas. Good impressions! We seated before our ten minutes and was immediately greeted by a cheery young server who enthusiastically explained their menu selections. She came back in seconds with our drinks and left for another few minutes to give us time to decide on our order. Herein lies the breakdown. This server did not come back, and it took an oddly long amount of time for another server to stop by and finally take our order. As I watched the other tables, I realized there must be pooled tips and shared responsibilities among the service staff. This isn't a big deal when everyone works their fair share and there is an organized system. In our case, we did experience a service breakdown. On to the food! We started off with a couple of salads. I had the peppercorn ranch salad, which was fresh, sweet, and delicious. We split a medium-sized pizza with two choices: meatball and barbecue chicken. I'm going to give this place props for their authentic doughy crust, which was very delicious, but I think the toppings could have been more exaggerated and robust. After reading the menu descriptions, I feel like I received a standard pizza and not anything that wowed me, which is a shame considering the time, care, and quality invested in the dough preparation. I would come back, definitely order a salad, and hope that the toppings are more generous the second time around.

I'm an outsider to Cincinnati and I'm used to New York style pizza. At first, I was skeptical, since LaRosa's is cardboard, Donatos is... well... it's better than LaRosa's. Dewey's was fantastic. Ok, it's not the fire-baked goodness I was expecting, but Dewey's delivers. It's great pizza. Their marinara sauce is good. The white sauce is a garlic butter sauce, which is different than the ricotta/garlic/butter sauce of the northeast. I'm a fan of the Wild Mushroom. The calzones are good too, and one will more than fill you up. There's plenty of toppings, so you have virtually unlimited combinations. The calzones are pretty cheap too. Lastly, the salads are good. There's no iceberg lettuce (that I remember), the portions are plentiful. And the have a new salad relatively often. Having a pint or two of beer from a local brewery definitely makes this place even better. And to make everything slightly better, Dewey's is engaged with the local community and gives back. Really, this place is a just a win-win all around.

love the crust and quality of toppings. Ryan's inferno (buffalo chicken pizza) and Hawaiian pizza is the fav! This is the first Dewey's that opened i believe. They are evolving into a small midwest chain

This pizza place is an absolute must! We shared a large pizza half Ryan's inferno, half Bronx bomber. The Ryan's inferno was absolutely the BEST- a white pizza with Gorgonzola and buffalo chicken with a perfectly made soft, chewy crust, while the Bronx bomber was delicious as well in its unique way- with sausage, mushrooms, olives and pepperoni toppling over a red sauce on the same crust. Their local brewed beer on tap is the cherry on top. Excellent service as well. This is truly the best pizza I've ever had (well second, If we count in Chicago's deep dish) well done deweys!

Mmmmm Dewey's. Now that the man-friend has introduced me - I can't get enough! They have the most delicious pizza. Every location it's the same, every location they have the best customer service. I really am quite sad that I didn't experience such awesomeness until I was in my 30's, but I plan to make up for it - don't worry. I love you, Dewey's. PS: I wish all of your salads and pizzas were on your menu ALL the time and some not just seasonal favorites! My only complain!!

If you are searching for quick gourmet pizza, then Dewey's is the place for you. They have a wonderful selection of specialty pizzas with everything from the classics like Hawaiian and Caprice to the exotic yet equally delicious Socrate's Revenge (olives!) and Edgar Allen Poe. My favorite pie is probably the Billy Goat, which combines goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes into pizza amazingness. My only tip of advice is if you are going during dinner time (6-8pm) from Thursday through Sunday, call in advance or prepare to wait. Or even better, call and order some takeout, nothing like enjoying some gourmet pizza in the comfort of your own home!

When has Dewey's every failed me? NEVER. It is consistently delicious, no matter what location you try. Salads, pizza, everything has the perfect blend of flavors. Customer service is always great, and kids love watching the pizzas being made through the large windows. Yum. :)

Deweys hands down Best Pizza in the city. They have lots of selections of pizza, my favorites are the edgar allen poe with Red Sauce, and Green Lantern. Try a salad too, all good. They have local craft beers, and wine, and work with different wineries!

Came here while traveling for work with two work colleagues and they're young children (3, 7 and 10). The kids were busy the entire time watching the chefs twirl the dough and make the pizza which allowed for the grown-ups up enjoy a beer and conversation for a bit. Love that they encourage 1/2 and 1/2 pizzas which enabled us to try several flavors of their specialty pizzas. The buffalo chicken pizza (forgot the formal name) is amazing. If you're a buffalo chicken fan, ignore the remainder of the menu, order up a 17" one of these and enjoy overeating. Prices were reasonable and service was good.

Bottom line: EDGAR ALLAN POE WITH PROSCIUTTO IS AMAZING!! When good pizza lovers die and go to pizza heaven, that place is Dewey's pizza! My gosh, this is probably the best pizza I have ever had! I've been living in Cincinnati for 8 months now and have been hearing my peers rave about Dewey's. Today, I finally decided to try it out.. and my oh my, I sure was missing out during these past 8 months! My boyfriend and I had not eaten anything the entire day, so we decided to get a whole 13" pizza all to ourselves. And it was a good thing that we did! We each had 4 slices and were completely satisfied. We ordered half and half of 1) Southwest BBQ Chicken and 2) Edgar Allan Poe with Prosciutto. Both were absolutely to die for! Out of the two though, I did enjoy the Edgar Allan Poe better. I'm excited to come back again to try more of their selections! PS: The service was amazing. Although it was a very busy Sunday night, our servers and all other employees made us feel at home and well-served throughout our dinner. Awesome service, awesome food, awesome experience!

Dewey's pizza is the best pizza in Cincinnati. I dare you to prove me otherwise. (Side note: My best friend came into town from Los Angeles for a week. One our first dinner was at Dewey's. By the end of her trip, she couldn't stop raving about this place! Mission accomplished. Another Dewey convert!) Dewey's is always relatively quick and delicious. I've carried out and dined-in many times. Bar none, the best service I've received at a Dewey's location is this one in Oakley. Even if it's super crowded, you get seated rather promptly. Drink orders are quickly followed by salad/pizza orders. The regular sized salads are pretty ginormous. It's easy enough to feed two people. My favorites are the house and greek salads. The house salad has my joie de vivre - goat cheese. It's mixed with greens cranberries, pine nuts and a tangy balsamic vinaigrette. On the other hand, the greek salad a roasted red pepper vinaigrette piled high with cucumbers, garlic, kalamata olives and feta cheese. I think I tend to get the greek salad more, but oh my gosh are they BOTH delicious. On to the pizza! I've had almost every pizza Dewey's offers. The dough is thin with a relatively "crispy" crust. Think New York Style but not as thin as those cult-ish NY pizza loving fiends would desire. My favorite is pretty controversial. I LOVE the Socrates Revenge. It's simply amazing. Lots of olives, garlic, spinach tomatoes and cheese...I love a good Mediterranean motif and this pizza's got Mediterranean all over it. Secondly, I would say the Green Lantern tends to be a people pleaser with red sauce, garlic, mushroom, goat cheese, mozzarella and pesto - it's something different but delectable. If you're not feeling too adventurous, their X-pepperoni pizza is pretty standard and clutch. One of the best parts of eating here, is you can mix and match your tastes...aka HELLO half/half pizza! Dewey's isn't super cheap. If you want cheap, check out one of the bigger franchises and their monthly gimmick. If you want GOOD pizza, hit up Dewey's!

Yum, yum and more yum. Buttery goodness crust that is so delicious you want more, more, more. Try the seasonal pizzas because you guessed it they are seasonal. They have the same thing with their yumtastic salads. Of course some local craft beers that are special to them. Eat there eat there eat there.

I don't even like pizza that much but Dewey's pizza is not your average greasy delivery pizza. They have creative pizzas to choose from, my favorite being Ryan's Inferno. They also have seasonal specials that I love to try. Parking can be a little difficult and on the weekends it can get crowded, however service is always great and I've been here a few times with groups and they have been very accommodating.

PIZZA LOVERS of CINCINNATI, THIS IS YOUR MECCA. Oakley's Dewey's Pizza introduced me to the idea of garlic gloves on a pizza waaaaaaay back about 10 years ago, and I haven't looked back since. These pizzas are not only perfection in terms of production and flavor profile, but they are CREATIVE while doing it AND they give back to the community in the process. If you're looking for awesome pizzas, I recommend the Edgar Allen Poe and the Green Lantern. Is it true that all of their pizzas are amazing? Of course. But these, these beauties are my staples. But, Dewey's doesn't stop at the pizzas. Their salad are fresh, they're creative, they're absolutely flavorful, the croutons are fantasic and garlicky beauties. They're also huge - if you're getting pizza and want a salad, plan on sharing it, and yes that includes the small pizza, guys. Let's talk about beverages. Dewey's doesn't have a full bar, and it doesn't need one. They carry select wines that pair excellently with their fantastic selection, and they also move through some great kegs seasonally. Not certain that you're going to like that new MadTree? Ask for a sample, it will GLADLY be provided. Dewey's is such a staple for me at this point, and ALL of the local locations are excellent and consistent in quality... but the Oakley location is my first love and my first discovery of pizza as fine dining instead of something eaten on the couch as you fire up the night's movie. Kudos for your growth, guys. You deserve all of your success.

Simple little pizzaria, but with a twist. They are putting things on salads and pizzas that you won't normally find at your traditional pizza shop. Wait staff was friendly and courteous, but the salad although good, came out way too early. They do have free refills. The pizza came out about 2 minutes after the salad was finished. Well played Dewey's. Well played. The biggest size possible was gotten splitting both halves between The Edgar Allen Poe and The Bronx Bomber. Both were very delicious. Whole cloves of garlic were the signature of the Poe while an array of peppers, sausage and onions littered the field of The Bronx Bomber. Dewey's Pizza is truly taking pizza to the next level.

It's clear why Dewey's is so popular with the locals and visitors! Best pizza I've ever had. Numerous fresh yummy toppings to choose from. Eclectic speciality pizzas that change with the seasons. You must try the house salad and a calzone during one of your visits! The food is nicely complimented by attentive and helpful service.

This has become a weekly favorite for us. The pizza is outstanding, we love the pepperoni, it's a classic. Buffalo chicken pizza was good, but as a Buffalonian I have high standards. People are always friendly and the pizza is always ready for pickup at the right time. I would highly recommend it!

Many reviews compliment their food quality, and it is great. This review compliments their service. You will have an assigned waiter/waitress, but the rest of the service is more of a "swarm" technique. This actually adds a LOT to the experience. While you have assigned waitstaff, it quickly becomes apparent that ANYONE who's out on the floor handles ANY need you require. Whether it is clearing an empty salad plate, or refilling a drink, everyone who's on the floor takes part. Even the manager comes by and attends to simple needs at your table. I've been to multiple locations of Dewey's and this is an across the board mantra. It's not weird like, "where's my waitress?" and someone notices your awkward stare, but it's just an organic, "there is something to be done and I'm here, so I'll do it.". The service is top notch, and I applaud their good work. Most other restaurants could learn from this customer service model.

This is great pizza. It's a little more expensive than the major pizza chains, but the freshness and quality ingredients really make it worth it. Feel free to make your own, but the flavor combinations they've put together are excellent.

I have lived in Silver Spring for fine years now, and I love this place. it is one of the few places I must visit. Tasty pizza, good beer, excellent service. I sort of just lust for this place. It really is the best pizza place in Cincinnati. Best pizza, best service... This place makes me happy. Check features Dewey's out.... This is a hastily place for me.

Great salads and creative pies. Get there early or the wait will great you at the door. Fantastic place for families!!!

This place it great. Awesome neighborhood pizza place feel. Different pizza options that are a fun change to the typical pizza pie. Favorite is the grape and candied walnut salad paired with a white pizza with Amish chicken, pine nuts and goat cheese. Perfect for a casual date night or family night out- although it can get loud.

Oh Deweys...Over the past four years, my college years, I have spent a fortune at Deweys. Every couple Sundays my friends and I would each order a large. Plenty for dinner and enough for another meal from leftovers. Dewey's specialty pizzas are their calling card. I could not possibly recommend just one. I always get half and half. My favorites include Ryan's Inferno, Dr. Dre (just recently added to the menu after years of being a "secret pizza"), Bronz Bomber, and Southwest BBQ Chicken. The House and Greek salads are also wonderful. Deweys is a little pricey, especially compared to the typical college pizza binge on Dominos or Little Caesar's. In my opinion Dewey's is well worth the price.

Awesome Gourmet Pizza! I always say you get what you pay for. My personal favorites is the wild mushroom (11"inch is $15.95) pizza which has different types of mushrooms, capers, mozerella-fontina cheese, roasted red peppers and olive oil. Last is the Caprese Pizza which is simple. Olive oil, minced garlic, mozerella-fontina blend, fresh basil and Roma tomatoes. To go with my pizza, I love to get their side salad- Peppercorn Ranch! Romaine lettuce always fresh. Everytime I have their pizza, the crust always turns out perfect. Soft and not too thick. They are very consistent with their foods. Delicious all the time! That's why they are considered one of my favorite pizza joints in the Cincy area. Plus the service is great at this location. I just love it here so much!

I've been to the Newport on the Levee location and Crestview Hills location in addition to this one. I like the Crestview Hills location the best in terms of space and service. If I came to the area again I would probably go to a non-chain restaurant just because there are so many in this area and I like to eat locally where possible. Of course, it is a "local" chain but I think you get my drift. I got their peppercorn ranch salad with chicken at this location, but when I go to Dewey's with a large group of people, I love to get the Edgar Allen Poe and a 1/2 wild mushroom, 1/2 Socrates' Revenge. Yum.

Don't miss the Poe! Superb, perfectly risen airy crispy crust. Several great salads. Our favorite is a grape, feta, candied pecan greens tossed in balsamic. Sweet, creamy house sasparilla. Basic cheese pizza a bit too heavy on pepper flakes for my child though. Do milder version for spice averse.
(4)
Kim W.
Dewey's has the BEST pizza dough/crust. Fresh, unique ingredients on both pizza and salads. Seasonal salads are always a hit. Small salad is enough for 2 to share. The specialty pizzas are a bit pricey but always top notch delicious. Great location in Oakley.
(4)
Carter M.
This place is a great local chain. They have wonderful, offbeat pizzas. The dough is so good, a cheese pizza will do. If you add goat cheese and whole roasted garlic...forget about it. They also have amazing (underlined) salads. I've made their house salad recipe my go-to dinner party contribution. All of their locations are thoughtfully designed and well located, and the Oakley Dewey's, with a sidewalk storefront on Madison, is no exception.
(5)
Ben D.
If you're a pepperoni pizza lover (like me) go for the x-pep pizza or the Don Corleone (an amazing meat lover's pizza). But truly, this place is best for those who enjoy being adventurous with their pizza toppings. Also beware the wait...it can be a doozy!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dewey's Pizza. When I come home, everyone knows we have to go to Dewey's. The service is always outstanding! Everyone always takes care of different tables, so it doesn't feel like you are assigned one server to "section". The food has never been below excellent. The pizzas are loaded with good, fresh ingredients and they have very unique flavors. One favorite is the Edgar Allen Poe (for garlic lovers), which has lots of kalamata olives, full garlic cloves, goat cheese, chunks of fresh tomato, and parsley after the bake. It is incredible. I also love that they do 1/2 and 1/2 pizzas, so my fiance and I can each get the pizza we want, but also share one size. The house salad also has to be one of the best salads EVER! Their house dressing is awesome with the spring mix, goat cheese, cranberries, and pine nuts. I've traveled around the country and I've never had a pizza come close to being as good as Dewey's.

Dewey's gets it right. They serve solid pizza, fresh salads, and have a thoughtful beer selection and lots of friendly servers. The pizza has a good balance of crust, sauce, toppings and cheese, which should be a given but isn't always. We got half green lantern and half wild mushroom, and both rocked. Which brings me to another point--they make half-and-half of anything you want. Bonus points, Dewey's. The salads are great, too--not just the standard afterthoughts you find at many pizza joints. We also got the salad with grapes and candied walnuts, which was huge and fresh and tasty.
(4)
Amanda C.
Gosh, I love Dewey's pizza. From the light, buttery crust to the fresh, innovative toppings to the fruity seasonal salads, Dewey's is delish. Dewey's in Oakley seems to be a popular family spot-- kids can get pepperoni, while parents can be more adventurous. Also, it's a great restaurant to take out-of-town friends and family-- I've found the pizza and atmosphere always impress. Service at the Oakley location is refreshingly friendly and attentive. My husband and I always marvel that a pizza place can achieve perfect service, while fancier restaurants often struggle.
(5)
Kevin H.
This is my favorite pizza in town. The food has been consistent every single time. The service at this location has always been attentive and professional. This is also a popular location for families with children. My favorite is the Billy Goat pizza. I swap out the green peppers for spinach and it's fantastic. For those who love leftovers warmed up, throw it in a big frying pan (no oil), cover it with aluminum foil on relatively low heat until the cheese softens up. It will be crispy and taste fantastic!

Not a bad place to try some pizza. Kinda cool that you can see them tossing the dough and making the pizzas fresh. I have been to both the Dewey's in Oakley and Clifton since they each opened many years ago, so I have a pretty good feel for how they are. I think when it comes to pizza it all comes down to each person's preferred style and tastes. For me, I'm not the biggest fan of their pizzas. To me I like going more with my family or friends for a decent meal. To be honest, I much more prefer their salads. They are a very neglected part of their menu that is definitely worth a try. Either way, I say go with friends/family for dinner. I'm sure there will be some sort of specialty pizza or salad well worth the trip. If not, always a good excuse to be out with some good people.

There is much that is appealing about Dewey's. Dewey's has an agreeable and comfortable atmosphere, with plenty of seating room, pleasant "industrial" (if somewhat generic) modern decor, and better-than-average music on the sound system (think "Dad Rock": Wilco, R.E.M., neglected classic rock, etc.). For a pizza place, Dewey's has efficient, polite, and friendly service. There are few missteps during an average visit, even though most of the servers are quite young. Also for a pizza place, Dewey's has terrific salads that confirm that the proprietors are aware that we are living in the 21st century. (This is in contrast to the Denny's-level, iceberg-dominated salads offered in all too many pizza joints.) At under $7 for a salad easily large enough to be shared by two, they are a great bargain. Dewey's also has a small but excellent list of draft beer. Rogue, Dogfish Head, Founders, and similar microbrews usually appear, and appropriate seasonal beers are rotated in and out. If this sounds like Yuppie Heaven, I suppose it pretty much is. So what the heck is the problem? It's definitely a minority view, but my answer is the pizza itself. Dewey's does use fresh, quality ingredients for its toppings, and has conceived of some tasty combo "gourmet" pies (the Green Lantern and the Wild Mushroom are especially good). But Dewey's crust is sadly substandard. Good crust is the basic architectural foundation of great pizza. Without it, Dewey's has got a serious problem. Dewey's crust is fluffy and almost flavorless, with little crispness or character. In texture and taste, it reminds me a bit of those doughy, pre-made pretzels you get at a baseball park--without the excess salt, of course. Or if it is really underdone, the baby-food "yeast rolls" you get at a Golden Corral or Ponderosa (it's been a long, long time, but the memories are still strong). When we do end up at Dewey's, we feel compelled to order our pizza "well done," which seems like an absurd thing to have to do. A Dewey's visit for two--salad, medium pizza, a beer apiece--usually sets us back more than $40, when tax and tip are included. This seems slightly high. But as stated above, Dewey's has plenty else to offer, so we go back every now and then.

My favorite pizza in town! Their original with cheese is my favorite followed by their Ryan's Inferno, buffalo chicken pizza which comes with a side of ranch. Their salads are also top notch, house is the best. Recently tried their house white wine a blend and one of the best refreshing white wines I've had, plus proceeds from this wine go to local charities. Go to Dewey's now!

It's good, nothin much else to say about it. I don't even like Pizza that much (ridiculous right?) - but I love Deweys. Honestly, I recommend their salads a lot as well. Their pizzas are really good too, obviously.

If I left Cincinnati, Dewey's would be the only restaurant I would miss. They have amazing pizza. I stay simple with mushrooms and pepperoni. Always tasty!

The service, as roth m. said, is more of a "swarm" service. Appropriate, considering how packed it is, abuzz with activity and the fact that you get to even watch the cooks in the kitchen concentrate hard on making and tossing dough in the kitchen. It almost feels like you're in a beehive. My brother and I went here to eat just before going to see The Civil Wars in concert across the street. Yeah, we waited for 30 minutes in a "foyer" the size of a beer can to be seated, but Dewey's restaurants are among the most popular in Greater Cincinnati, hands down. And for good reason: You have so much to choose from in size, toppings, and even red or white marinara sauce that practically each pizza and panini made there is custom. With real ingredients...or at least a crap ton of artificial preservatives, but I sure hope it's the former. The pizza isn't quite as good as a few other true local joints I've been to in Greater Cincy and Lexington, but it's up there. Every bit deserving of four stars.

Favorite pizza place in Cincinnati, hands down. The gourmet pizzas here are fantastic. My personal favorite is the Southwest BBQ Chicken Pizza, but there are plenty for meat and veggie lovers alike. The salads are actually just as good as the pizzas, so you can abate any pizza-related guilt slightly by starting with something green. I highly recommend the House Salad--the toppings aren't that novel (goat cheese, dried cranberries, and pine nuts), but they come together in a beautiful way with the flavorful balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Here's a tip: if you're dining with someone else who wants the same salad, order 1 large instead of 2 smalls and ask for an extra plate (same amount of salad, save $3, and they're happy to do it). Good for dining in or carry out. If you're dining in, the beer and wine selection is decent and they always have a seasonal draft or two. Only bad thing about this location is the small parking lot fills up fast. If that and the nearby metered spaces are full, you can also park in the car wash lot across the street after 7pm (you will be towed from other lots).

My favorite local pizza place for me and me and my kids :-) It's the only place my two boys can stand on chairs without their Mom (me) saying anything, as they watch the flying pizza dough in kitchen window :-) Last Wednesday my boyfriend and I had dinner there .I had their Harvest salad with figs, goat cheese, pumpkins...Yumm!! We shared (um more like inhaled) a half & half pizza with seasonal "Italian" favorite and Edgar Allen Poe. The food was excellent and the service attentive but not intrusive... Given that's a place for families and kids, the louder environment was fine..If you want a little less noise sit in a booth or by the front window, or eat a little earlier in the day when it's quieter.

What's to say: great pizza and great for a family. My 2 year old loves watching them Toss the dough and they always interact with him. Family win.

(4)
Emily B.

A well-oiled machine. They have the best customer service in town. And yummy food! Fresh ingredients and great drinks.

Ryan M.
(5)
Sam S.
(5)
Lauren J.
(4)
Chris D.

Laurel D.

Try it!

Go there.

One of the best pizza places in Cincinnati. Great calzones and salads too.

Ah, Dewey's. The green lantern is their best, in my opinion, but I also adore the BBQ chicken, meatball and bronx bomber. The house salad is pretty amazing too.

We tend to stop here most every time I'm around visiting friends in the area and we're never disappointed. Delicious and interesting pizzas of all varieties, which are without fail incredibly tasty and inventive.

Best Pizza in Cincinnati.... love the "Bronx Bomber." Atmosphere is bustling - if you can wait to dine, most of the people with kids are out of there by 8:30.

Took friends from out-of-state - man - the window is awesome! It kept Tanner occupied the entire lunch!!!!! Love their pizza and salad - great as usual!

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

(3)Audrey L.

(5)Lily D.

(5)Sanjeet G.
(4)Reviewer V.

(4)Joe L.
(5)Kristen B.
(4)Mit N.
Decent beer selection, great salad, and good pizza (for Cincinnati). You really can't go wrong for cincy pie. Sometimes crowded, so I suggest off-peak times for the best experience. Take home a few slices for later and they're not good like they are hot out of the oven.
(3)Stephanie R.
(5)David L.
Always a favorite place to go when you just want excellent pizza, beer, and service. In fact going there tonight! Even though we're in chicago now, I still crave this pizza.
(5)Anpan W.
Gross. Worse than at home frozen pizza or the most foul cafeteria pizza. Chicagoans stay clear!! Now I understand why people go crazy over good Chicago style pizza of any kind, i.e. thin, stuffed, pan. And the salad was poor (candied walnut and goat cheese).
(1)Beverly C.
My favorite pizza!! Great staff! Great wine & beer menu!
(5)Allison O.
(5)Tanya P.
This was my families first experience with a truely unique pizza! There is every imaginable topping. The kids were fascinated watching the food being prepared.
(5)Jeff S.
(5)Ed W.
Great service! Best pizza, ask for the Dr. Dre.
(5)R S.
Their pizza is amazing - probably my favorite pizza ever! It's always fresh, delicious, and flavorful. Toppings are generous. They have a great selection for vegetarians, which is unusual. Their salads are also very nice. I just wish they delivered.
(5)Mick J.
thoroughly delicious pizza, hands-down.
(4)April A.
(5)Kerry M.
(5)Sam N.
(4)Angela H.
(5)Emily R.
(4)Christoffer M.
(4)Shari S.

(5)Adam B.
(4)Krista J.

(1)Ruby D.

Go there.
(5)Tony N.
One of the best pizza places in Cincinnati. Great calzones and salads too.
(5)Lee B.

Louis.
(5)Danielle F.
I love the Green Lantern. It is my fave pizza to order when in town visiting. I love the pizza here and it is a great place to bring out of towners looking for a good slice of pie. Although the beer selection is not extensive, the choices available are always tasty.
(5)Sweet W.
wow, I can't believe all the positive press on Yelp for Dewey's, this CAN'T be the best pizza in Cincinnati. --
(2)Sara M.
I want my ashes scattered here when I die.
(5)Natalie B.
Ah, Dewey's. The green lantern is their best, in my opinion, but I also adore the BBQ chicken, meatball and bronx bomber. The house salad is pretty amazing too.
(5)Steve F.
We tend to stop here most every time I'm around visiting friends in the area and we're never disappointed. Delicious and interesting pizzas of all varieties, which are without fail incredibly tasty and inventive.
(5)Molly C.
Best Pizza in Cincinnati.... love the "Bronx Bomber." Atmosphere is bustling - if you can wait to dine, most of the people with kids are out of there by 8:30.
(4)Heather J.
Took friends from out-of-state - man - the window is awesome! It kept Tanner occupied the entire lunch!!!!! Love their pizza and salad - great as usual!
(5)Robin D.
The best pizza! Great salads too. They have a window looking into the kitchen, so you can watch them make your pizza. My favorite is the Edgar Allen Poe, but so far everything I've ever had at Dewey's was delicious.
(5)Rise G.
(5)Jacob B.
best pizza in cincy
(5)Justin N.
(5)k f.
i love their salads and their pizza and their calzones. i love that you can get sauce other than red sauce and do the half pizza one kind and the other half another kind. i have always had the best service there. if there is anything wrong they are so quick to offer you a discount before you can even tell them something was wrong (i.e. pizza comes out with the salads instead of the salads first, a hole in your pizza, or something wrong with your bill). great cinci establishment.
(4)Orrin F.
What's to say: great pizza and great for a family. My 2 year old loves watching them Toss the dough and they always interact with him. Family win.
(4)Kay D.
(2)Kelly L.

(5)Shawnna S.

(5)Brandee B.
(4)Katie K.
Wild mushroom pizza.... is amazing. The crust, sauce, mushrooms.... OMG delicious. Salads are great. Beer selection great. Service is always good. Always leave full and satisfied.
(5)Aly S.
(5)Melissa B.
(2)Cindy G.
(5)Dominique L.
(4)Alicia B.
(3)Ashley M.
(4)Ben D.
(4)Adam B.
love the crust and quality of toppings. Ryan's inferno (buffalo chicken pizza) and Hawaiian pizza is the fav! This is the first Dewey's that opened i believe. They are evolving into a small midwest chain
(4)Emily B.
(5)Erin K.
(5)Devon C.
(4)Meghan P.
A well-oiled machine. They have the best customer service in town. And yummy food! Fresh ingredients and great drinks.
(5)Amy E.
When has Dewey's every failed me? NEVER. It is consistently delicious, no matter what location you try. Salads, pizza, everything has the perfect blend of flavors. Customer service is always great, and kids love watching the pizzas being made through the large windows. Yum. :)
(5)Laura M.
Deweys hands down Best Pizza in the city. They have lots of selections of pizza, my favorites are the edgar allen poe with Red Sauce, and Green Lantern. Try a salad too, all good. They have local craft beers, and wine, and work with different wineries!
(5)Chris R.
(5)Coleen P.
(5)Anjelica N.
(5)Ryan M.
(5)Sam S.
(5)Laura C.
(5)Ieasha A.
Great and friendly service! Wonderful salads and great pizza! Went for fundraiser supporting cystic fibrosis making pizza and had a great time!!!!
(5)Chris D.
(4)Courtney L.
(5)Dan P.
(5)Roth M.
(5)Tom C.
This is great pizza. It's a little more expensive than the major pizza chains, but the freshness and quality ingredients really make it worth it. Feel free to make your own, but the flavor combinations they've put together are excellent.
(5)David M.
(5)Michael I.
Great salads and creative pies. Get there early or the wait will great you at the door. Fantastic place for families!!!
(5)Lauren J.
(4)David M.
(5)Sandra F.

(4)Kim W.
Dewey's has the BEST pizza dough/crust. Fresh, unique ingredients on both pizza and salads. Seasonal salads are always a hit. Small salad is enough for 2 to share. The specialty pizzas are a bit pricey but always top notch delicious. Great location in Oakley.
(4)Carter M.
(5)Ben D.

(5)Dana S.
(4)Amanda C.
(5)Kevin H.
(5)Seb R.

(3)Karen D.
(5)Scott S.
It's good, nothin much else to say about it. I don't even like Pizza that much (ridiculous right?) - but I love Deweys. Honestly, I recommend their salads a lot as well. Their pizzas are really good too, obviously.
(4)Jenny T.
If I left Cincinnati, Dewey's would be the only restaurant I would miss. They have amazing pizza. I stay simple with mushrooms and pepperoni. Always tasty!
(5)M C.
(4)Sarah F.
(5)John M.
wonderful pizza especially for vegetarians. i love the wild mushroom! they make their own beer too which is fun. prices are good if you have a big group to eat with or like leftovers. best i've had in ohio!
(4)Andrea D.

(5)Shawnna S.

(5)Brandee B.
(4)Orrin F.
What's to say: great pizza and great for a family. My 2 year old loves watching them Toss the dough and they always interact with him. Family win.
(4)Kay D.
(2)Kelly L.
(3)Katie K.
Wild mushroom pizza.... is amazing. The crust, sauce, mushrooms.... OMG delicious. Salads are great. Beer selection great. Service is always good. Always leave full and satisfied.
(5)Aly S.
(5)Melissa B.
(2)Cindy G.
(5)Dominique L.
(4)Alicia B.
(3)Ashley M.
(4)Amy E.
(5)Ben D.
(4)Adam B.
love the crust and quality of toppings. Ryan's inferno (buffalo chicken pizza) and Hawaiian pizza is the fav! This is the first Dewey's that opened i believe. They are evolving into a small midwest chain
(4)Emily B.
(5)Erin K.
(5)Devon C.
(4)Meghan P.
A well-oiled machine. They have the best customer service in town. And yummy food! Fresh ingredients and great drinks.
(5)Chris R.
(5)Coleen P.

(5)Ieasha A.
Great and friendly service! Wonderful salads and great pizza! Went for fundraiser supporting cystic fibrosis making pizza and had a great time!!!!
(5)Anjelica N.
(5)Ryan M.
(5)Sam S.
(5)Lauren J.

(5)Laurel D.
Yum.
(3)Pamela F.
(5)Ben D.
If you're a pepperoni pizza lover (like me) go for the x-pep pizza or the Don Corleone (an amazing meat lover's pizza). But truly, this place is best for those who enjoy being adventurous with their pizza toppings. Also beware the wait...it can be a doozy!
(5)Rebecca S.
(5)Dana S.
(4)Amanda C.
(5)Kevin H.
(5)Ben N.
(3)Karen D.
(5)M C.
(4)Sarah F.
(5)John M.
wonderful pizza especially for vegetarians. i love the wild mushroom! they make their own beer too which is fun. prices are good if you have a big group to eat with or like leftovers. best i've had in ohio!
(4)Andrea D.
(4)Seb R.

(3)Audrey L.
Try it!
(4)Katherine M.

(5)Lily D.
Great pizza, especially for those who enjoy NY-style (though it's not exactly that). And tasty salads. And tastier deserts! Was recommended to me by a local friend. Would definitely go back. It was the best meal I had in Ohio.
(4)Matthew F.
(5)Sanjeet G.
(4)Reviewer V.

(5)Rachel R.
(4)Joe L.
(5)Krista J.
(3)Kristen B.
(5)Tanya P.
This was my families first experience with a truely unique pizza! There is every imaginable topping. The kids were fascinated watching the food being prepared.
(5)Jeff S.

Great service! Best pizza, ask for the Dr. Dre.

Their pizza is amazing - probably my favorite pizza ever! It's always fresh, delicious, and flavorful. Toppings are generous. They have a great selection for vegetarians, which is unusual. Their salads are also very nice. I just wish they delivered.

thoroughly delicious pizza, hands-down.

(5)Adam B.

(1)Ruby D.

Go there.

One of the best pizza places in Cincinnati. Great calzones and salads too.
(5)Lee B.

Louis.
(5)Danielle F.
I love the Green Lantern. It is my fave pizza to order when in town visiting. I love the pizza here and it is a great place to bring out of towners looking for a good slice of pie. Although the beer selection is not extensive, the choices available are always tasty.

wow, I can't believe all the positive press on Yelp for Dewey's, this CAN'T be the best pizza in Cincinnati. --

(5)Rise G.
The beer selection isn't too bad either.

best pizza in cincy
