Loved the Happy Hour experience @ Cooper's the food was good. The service and the atmosphere was great. The prices were affordable for Happy Hour we were so full there was no need for a dinner. We experienced the street tacos, flatbread pizza, spicy shrimp & wontons, bruschetta & egg rolls. Umm good. We were able to celebrate my daughters Birthday and able to bring in a purchased birthday cake to celebrate. My final point is I enjoyed the free wine tastings. My daughter and her friend enjoyed the tastings as well & received information on joining the wine club.
This is my second time coming to Cooper's Hawk. The first time my friend (Brandy V) and I went to the tasting room and tried the wine flights (white and red). That was a great experience. Their wines are super smooth! I am not a huge white wine fan, but I love the Moscato, Blanc De Blanc, and also the Sparkling Almond wine. I couldn't wait to return but this time we dined in on a Friday night (girls night out). We had reservations at 7:00 p.m. and was seated right away. My friend Brandy V had to change the reservations to add one more friend to the list. With no problem, they were able to add her. Our server was very attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable with the food and wines. I started off with a glass Cooper's Hawk Red- Smooth tannins with a core of dark berries, vanilla bean and cracked pepper. Very GOOD! For dinner I got the Pistachio-Crusted Grouper- Mustard Sauce, Mary's Potatoes, Asparagus for $25.99. It was so delicious! Usually when I order grouper, it is flat, the texture was like eating a Mahi Mahi! I absolutely love the breading, which had great taste! The mashed potatoes was thick and asparagus was steamed just right! All of my friends really enjoyed their dinner as well. Besides the food, I really like the decor and the cozy atmosphere. The tables are not cluttered together, restaurant is spacious and love the lighting (not so dark/dimmed, natural lighting coming in in different sections). Cooper Hawk Winery & Restaurant has so much to offer! The tasting room is also a shop that sells wines, gift sets, wine accessories, gourmet foods, and more! My favorite is the display case full of sweets (from chocolate covered strawberries to truffles) DELISH! They also cater, have a wine club, hold private parties and online shopping! Cooper's Hawk has locations in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, Virginia and Wisconsin. I am already looking forward to my next visit! This place is definately top notch with quality wines and foods. I am truly impressed and also find their pricing to be reasonable. I may stop by next weekend to purchase a couple bottles of wine! :)

This was my first time here and we came for happy hour and must say it was awesome. Try sitting in the bar it's great and quick service. The time was a little odd though. Like who has happy hour from 3 to 6 PM?! most people get off at 5 o'clock so that only gives you an hour to really enjoy it. However if you can get off earlier or by 430 and get there they will not disappoint. All glasses of wine and other wine cocktails were $5. They also had a number of appetizers that were about $7 as well. The caprese flat bread is amazing!! The atmosphere in this place is absolutely wonderful very calming but yet upscale but not so over the top that you don't feel comfortable. I'm very anxious to come back and try this place for dinner I heard it's great. You can also come and do tastings and buy wine which is pretty awesome. Most of the bottles seem to be average price. Overall a great new find in the Montgomery/Kenwood area. Ps: did I mention complimentary valet parking? #winning

I believe this location is relatively new. Cooper's Hawk is well known in Chicago but newer to the Cincinnati area. CH obviously has great wine and also great dining options. They offer monthly memberships which include one or two bottles of wine. There are all types of perks for being a member. A percentage of your dining bill will go towards your member points, etc. We had some complimentary tastings when we first came in. CH is very nice and well kept. The wood interior compliments the freshly made wine and wine barrel atmosphere. Service is great here. We came for brunch and our server was on top of her game. She knew everything you could know about CH and was very courteous. She truly loved what she did. All the menu items we had were good, from the bloody mary to the flat bread. We stocked up on some to go items we didn't quite finish and she included some fresh bread that we had refilled several times during our lunch.

A fabulous restaurant! Fair pricing on fantastic food and wine! Wine tastings are $7 for 8. The Asian pork belly toastado is absolutely wonderful! Not too sweet and it just melts in your mouth with a little crunch from the chip! No wonder it's an "award winning" appetizer. lobster bisque was pretty good as well. The prime rib burger is spectacular! My favorite burger in Cincinnati! The Au jus dipping sauce gave a great mouthfeel to the soft bread and tender meat! The chicken carbonara was also delicious! Each visit has been fantastic! Their sweet red is smooth and not too sweet. The Lux Cabernet Sauvignon is my favorite. Staff here are always friendly and accommodating. Went there on a Thursday night and the place seems to cater to middle-aged women out for "ladies' night" drinking wine and conversing. Needless to say my girlfriend was impressed. As for me, I got a steak with veggies and parmesan fries. The veggies were braised carrots and parsnips. The parsnips were okay and I did not care for the carrots which is not the restaurants fault I just generally don't like carrots. The fries were just run of the mill restaurant fries albeit I could not taste the parmesan at all. The steak was pretty good although it was overcooked. I ordered it medium and got it well-done. The rest of the group got sandwiches and they all looked pretty good and were priced appropriately for what they were which was about $10 for a large sandwich and fries. The service we received was outstanding. The atmosphere is top notch. My GF was really impressed that the wine per bottle and for carryout was the same price. She really wants to go back and I will, I think I'll just go with a sandwich next time. It seems like a better bet for an okay sandwich at $10 rather than an overdone steak and lackluster fries for $23.

My friend and I ate here for lunch. We were seated outside and a few minutes later a table was seated after us. We ordered and then waited and waited and waited. The two ladies next to us were on their second course before anyone said a word. Needless to say we were starving and losing patience. Then a manager? stopped by to tell us the chef had burnt my friends entree and our food would be out shortly. After 45 mins our food came out. They didn't offer a cup of soup or bread nor were they apologetic and we were charged in full. Terrible customer service!!!

I ate here for the first time, along with 10 women friends who love wine. I think all of us enjoyed ourselves and will come back. We had made a reservation ahead, but they we not that busy at 12:30pm when we arrived. The service was very good. I'm not a wine drinker so I saved my calories for dessert! Since my friend and I were the only ones to get dessert (we split the chocolate cake and it was very good) there was a small issue with my getting my check & credit card back (I paid for dessert) way after everyone else had begun leaving the table, which was awkward. All of the food looked good, and no one complained about anything. My Chicken Madeira was excellent and I would order it again.

Let me just say, I have visited this place on several occasions (work functions, happy hours, different locations other than Cincinnati) but, would like to give a review on my most recent one. If you have never been, this place is fantastic if you are looking to get introduced to wine. I am not a wine connoisseur by any means but, this place gives you the basic understandings of wine. Was greeted with a tasting pour while I waited for my reservation. The place was completely packed but, they had enough people on staff to accommodate. Joined the Wine Club. 18$ a month for a bottle of wine isnt bad. It is a great marketing strategy to get people coming back monthly. My date had the COOPER'S HAWK CHICKEN GIARDINIERA and loved it. I had the SHORT RIB RISOTTO and thought it was decent for a Risotto. What I liked was that our server recommended a couple wines by the glass that paired with our meals. Not many places in Cincinnati do that and most that try end up failing. I have been to other places locally where servers can recommend the wine that the sou chef suggested for that entree but, the servers arent trained up on the differences of wine and what makes it a great pairing. All in all, I give it a 4 out of 5. Specifically dropped a star for the fact that when we were seated our server brought over a Wine Aerator but, did not explain what it was used for when pouring our wine through it. I understand however, my date did not. It was a great experience and I definitely will be going back.

This place is great. They make their own wine (which is my drink of choice) and are very informative and give great recommendations. The service is great every single time. I go to this place with my mom a lot because of our love for wine. She is part of the wine club which gives you bottles of wine each month that you can pick up at your convenience. It's open and clean which is a plus in a huge restaurant like this place. They have awesome salad, crab cakes, and pasta dishes. You can even walk right in a have a complimentary wine tasting if you'd like. This place is well put together and seems to know what their doing. Also, even though I'm not a huge cocktail fan, they make pretty tasty cocktails that makes me even want to go back for another.

Cooper's definitely separates itself from the monotonous mediocrity that so aptly describes most chain restaurants. I really appreciated their winery/restaurant concept and thought their Lux wines drank very well for the price. It's a brilliant idea because they've removed the middle man from the equation and are able to control wine costs more efficiently. That's not to mention the food, which was very good and fairly priced. Most entrees were between $17-25. The best part might actually be one that we didn't get to take advantage of. Their happy hour includes half priced appetizers (good stuff, not just nachos and hummus) and $5 glasses of wine, including their Lux brand (think Reserve for most wine brands). I'll definitely be back!

Anyways we sat at the bar and Alex, the bartender, was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable; everything you'd expect. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and will be returning again soon.

I had a blast at Coopers Hawk. I picked this place for a family event and at first some members were hesitant because some did not drink wine, others where veggitarian (and picky) and we had a small child in the group. However, everyone loved it. They sat us in the corner outside which was great for the kid because we were out of the way and it was just nice to be on the patio. As for the wine it was not pushed on anyone who was not interested but the waitress was very able to provide information to those who were. Also, the waitress was very open about offering generous samples of any wine we wanted to taste. When I still couldn't decide she informed me that you could create your own flight which I loved. As for the food even the pickiest of eaters at the table loved there meal. There were plenty of options for the high maintenance food needs of our family and our server sent us home with fresh out of the oven pretzel bread because we had enjoyed it before our meal so much. It was clear that both our server and the restaurant's goal was for us to have a truly enjoyable experience and we did.

Went to Cooper's Hawk on a Tuesday evening with no prior planning We were greeted with a sample of wine as we approached the hostess stand. The decor is comfortable modern with appropriate lighting -not too dark or too light. The same for sound level. Enough buzz without being deafening. The wine is moderately priced with sufficient selection. The Thai lettuce wraps were tasty and generous. Our server warned us that this dish is hands on-a little messy do we were prepared. It would have been nice to have some lemon water or wipes. The shrimp and polenta was very good. Service was above average. Will return in the future.

Went here on a Friday night - my fab in laws were taking me out for a late birthday dinner. We had a reservation but arrived early to get a drink at the bar. I had a champagne cocktail and the fiance had a beer. Obviously you can't go wrong with a Guinness and my champagne cocktail was pretty good too. Dinner was excellent! I had surf and turf - crab cakes and a pretzel and mustard crusted pork medallion - super delish! No complaints on the food at all. We shared a cheese board to start which was also excellent - the jalapeno peach preserve was amazing!! Everything we had was excellent and the staff was great - very professional. We ordered a banana peanut butter pie for dessert - we had to take most of it home b/c of how huge it was - which I did not mind at all, Saturday morning breakfast, SCORE! Also - I thought it was very sweet that they brought out a birthday treat plate for me. A few pieces of chocolate and some strawberries - very thoughtful. Huge selection of wine - I had a pinot nior - can't remember which one - but it was good enough to have 3 glasses. Overall this place was great - I will for sure be returning. The quality of the food and the professional staff made the evening a perfect one!

I've been to Cooper's Hawk twice and had such amazing experiences each time in terms of food, wine, and service. Everyone there is very friendly and you can tell that they love what they do. The interior is very sleek and dimly lit for a more romantic/mellow atmosphere and you can tell it is fairly new. The wine is great and I was very satisfied with the two tastings I've done. If you're into wine or want to develop a better wine palet, the wine club membership is definitely worth it! My boyfriend and I started a membership and you pay a total of $36 for 2 bottles of wine of your choice and two tastings each month. You also get 2 complimentary tastings to bring friends or family! The food there is also very very good and are made with quality and excellent presentation. The pork belly tostadas are my absolute favorite and other apps that I'd recommend are the calamari, ahi tuna tacos, lobster bisque, and the Thai lettuce wraps. I'd also recommend eating out in the back patio. I've yet to try any foods here that I did not like and plan to be a frequent customer.

In a weird set of circumstances I had the opportunity to go to dinner at Cooper's Hawk and the next day went there for lunch. The restaurant itself is an upscale design with comfortable booths and nice sized tables. The ambiance is very warm and allows you to have a conversation without screaming. With that said, I was less than impressed with what they are known for--their wines. I tried their barrel reserve, their merlot, and a cablenet-Zinfandel blend, none of which hit the spot. My girlfriend tried the Sangiovese and the cab blend, and liked them. I was suprised that I did not like them, my pallet could have been off, who knows. For dinner I had soup and salad. I really wanted to try their lobster bisque, I heard it was excellent. Unfortunately the bisque ran out before my order was filled. They tried to make more but it came out more like lobster chowder. The manager was very apologetic and took it off the bill. My girlfriend ordered off their life balance menu and had the tuna tacos. They also have it on the regular menu. There were five tacos to an order with ahi tuna, lettuce and a not too spicy serachi mayo dressing. Very tasty. The presentation was very sharp and I liked the taste of them so much when I came back the next day that is what I had for lunch. Service was great both times there. Even when my server has several large parties both for the holiday. I would go back to try more of the menu and to give the wines a second chance. Seems like they have it together I just had a frustrating first time there.
We celebrated my husband's 60th birthday at this spectacular restaurant and winery. Customer service and food absolute 5 star experience. The only negative is that it is slightly noisier than expected but not enough to keep us from returning.

Wines disappointing. House barrel wine is overwhelmed by tannins.The dessert wine flight decidedly disappointing and undimensional (something noted to server when we left all three glasses full and he did not remove it from our $90+ bill-- unusual in a finer restaurant.) **Update: headquarters called from Chicago -- twice! Did nothing -- no store credit, coupon to give it a second go. Seriously? Shared the red flight and found both the petit syrah and cab well balanced, stone fruit forward, round leather, tobacco vanilla notes (although not pronounced) in both. The Zinfandel a bit spice note heavy. We love wine, keep a wine refrigerator (buy a case a month) and probably would not return due to inferior wines. Food, however, pretty decent, although not remarkable: a seared scallop dish and surf/turf combination. Correct temperature, perfectly grilled medium rare steak crusted in parmesan althought the pecan crusted flounder bit mushy. chocolate sampler featured good cheesecake chocolate enrobed lollipop, but both vanilla and dark chocolate truffle too hard, mediocre chocolate (as we often make our own with Valrhona chocolate we are perhaps connoisseurs.)

My complaints are that it's extremely loud there. And I mean loud! It's also very crowded. The tables are very close together. The waitress for the table next to us kept bumping into our table. Very nice new place in kenwood. It's a little less expensive than others in the area (Embers, Carlo & Johnny) but I think the food might be a better value based on what you get for the price. Their wine is good, not great, but the atmosphere in the wine tasting area is always great and we love going here for a tasting before dinner (either here or somewhere close nearby). The pork tostadas appetizer are a MUST! Everything else we have had has been very good, from steak to salmon. The only item we didn't care for was the chicken lettuce wraps. My only complaint here is the service. One time we tried to put a reservation in for dinner at the beginning of our tasting and were told not to worry about it. By the time we were done with our tasting there was a 90 minute wait, and they chose not to do anything for the inconvenience.

My wife and I immediately liked this restaurant. The tasting room is the closest experience you will have to a California winery. The staff is excellent and they engage you in great conversation about wine. We joined the club which is a great value for all the club has to offer. We have been there for both lunches and dinners an have not been disappointed. The sandwiches are great at lunch and the diviner choices offer a wide variety to satisfy anyone's appetite. On most occasions, the manager has stopped by our table to check on our experience. Cooper Hawk you are a welcome addition to this part of town with your reasonable prices over that of your over priced neighbors.

This came SO close to a 5 star rating... a few months in and this place will be rockin'... it already is fantastic... my main concern is it is TOO fresh and "stiff" - the staff isn't comfortable yet, but they are very on point, attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. No complaints about the service at all - just an overall feeling of... newness - uncertainty... and I also hate that the host staff all wear blazers - personal issue. The other complaint is the water tastes funny - just your usual city water I guess - totally able to overlook. And for those to be my only two complaints.... this winery/restaurant is fantastic. Let's get on with the good stuff: The building is beautiful - lots of stone work, dim lighting, a big tasting room - you literally get a tasting of wine when you walk in the door before you get to the host desk. To the right is the restaurant/kitchen with a private closed off section - perfect for a Yelp event ;-) ahem... There is also a bar area I didn't get to take a close look at. I did not go to the bathroom so I can't comment on those. The food was perfect. I was surprised with the speed in which the appetizers came out followed by the entrees. There is a very eclectic menu (not one type of fare) What we ate: Ahi Tuna - perfection with wonton crackers (only complaint - not served with chop sticks) Vegetable and goat cheese flat bread (loved it except for the carrots - not cooked enough, added a strange crunch - personal preference, so I picked them off) Short rib risotto - STAR OF THE NIGHT! Perfectly al dente risotto, delicious sauce with mushrooms, topped with large slices of parmesan, truffle oil, and tender short ribs. Chicken Saltimbocca - great flavors, huge portion, solid dish. Excellent espresso with a nice crema. Now... saving the best for last... To those who diss the wine...First of all this is a WINERY - they make and sell their own wine... like BREWERIES make and sell their own beer. Go elsewhere if you want options... they have 40+ wines... how are there not enough options? This is the only place in town that I know of that offers a wine straight from the barrel - something I've only experienced in Napa... and it's just as delicious. This winery gets their grapes straight from Napa which is one of the best regions in the U.S. for producing quality fruit which in turn creates quality wines (especially reds) - definitely worth MORE than $7.50 a glass (by the way they pour with a heavy hand). I have had many wines of equal quality priced at $14.00 - the great thing about selling the wine you make is there is no middle man so there is price control. I had the barrel wine, the zinfandel, and the tempranillo-sangiovese. They were all QUALITY wines... and I have consumed A LOT of different wines in my life from different regions. The tasting room is inviting and welcoming (as soon as you walk in) and I will definitely be going back to taste more of their delicious wines. This place is for people who appreciate good food and wine. Mindful ordering suggested - obviously there are going to be some menu items that aren't as satisfying as others. Choose wisely as you would elsewhere.

When they opened they had bad service and poor food. Now that they have been here a while they have upgraded this tremendously. Good neighborhood spot. I love the feel of walking into a winery. A glass of the monthly special awaits you. The wines are a find. They only serve their own but I have been happy with their blends especially. Try the Cab/Zin and the Cab/Malbec. I think you'll find them quite pleasing to the palate.

This restaurant was a fun place to go with friends. We went on a Saturday night and it was very busy - the good kind of busy, not the bad service kind of busy. They let you try multiple wines before deciding what you want. The wine isn't super high quality by any means, but I would recommend Cooper's Hawk because it's a very different restaurant experience and a nice change of pace from most other chain restaurants.

I recently went to Cooper's hawk Winery with some friends and this is a great spot for a large crowd. The atmosphere (fueled by wine) was very loud/lively and the dining rooms are huge so they can accommodate large numbers with out a problem. Being a chain I found it very polished and interesting concept. It is like the cracker barrel of Sonoma. It reminded me a lot of Jay Alexander's, another chain, that does a very good job with decor and food. We were greeted with some healthy wine samples as well as a tasting from the barrel. Free wine is always OK with me. As for the food, it is not necessarily fine dining but all done pretty well and tasty. I just ordered some Lobster bisque, which was delicious, and a sandwich. Pretzel bread is a must along with a cheese plate. Everyone was pretty pleased with their meal, but we had ordered a few flights of wine with some generous pours. The flights are a pretty solid deal. A solid spot that is great for groups and but probably not for wine snobs. If I could do 3.5 stars, I would do that.

This was our second visit to this new, upscale chain restaurant and winery. The winery aspect is a little strange as the wines are made in Chicago using California grapes and are really substandard. It's fun that they are generous with the wine samples but none of us veteran drinkers were able to find any wine that we really liked. The decor is quite beautiful and comfortable. The menu is very extensive and ambitious. The food quality is good but not great. One of our party ordered a pasta dish and requested grated Parmesan. The server explained they don't offer grated Parmesan but there was probably some in the kitchen. Unfortunately, he never returned with any. The service is very spotty. We ordered a calamari appetizer (quite good) and two showed up at the table...likewise with a wine order which was duplicated. In restaurants where the team concept of service is employed, the server needs to take ownership of the table and competently direct the other team members...this was not the case for us last night. Overall, about what you'd expect from a chain operation.

I prefer drinking wine from various regions around the world. All in all, Cooper's Hawk offered good food at a fair price -- I just wouldn't go there for a wine experience.

My boyfriend and I got carryout here on Thanksgiving night when we realized that none of the Chinese restaurants were open (which was our original Thanksgiving "plan"). While we were grateful that they were open, and the staff was very friendly, this place is the ponciest place I've ever set foot inside. Their "tasting area" is full of bedazzled gift wine glasses, bedazzled wine shoes (yes, shoes), and various other ridiculous wine accessories. The guy at the front who helped us with our takeout order was very pleasant, but his sense of irony had clearly been surgically removed. The food was fine. Nothing special, but not an abomination either.

Wide selection of food, wines, and spirits. If you makes reservations be sure to arrive 30-45 minutes ahead of time if you want to partake in a full wine tasting experience. If you don't have time you can always go with the 3 free tastings before taking your seat. I'd go back next time I'm in town for work! Food and service were both up to par.

If I could give 3.5 stars, I would do so, and this restaurant definitely has the potential for 4 stars. My wife and I were there with our two young kids (4 and 2 years old) for a Monday night dinner. We arrived at 6:12 or so for a 6:15 reservation and were seated almost immediately (the table was ready but they grabbed a high chair) - that was a pleasant introduction to Cooper's Hawk. Our waitress wasn't warm and cuddly, but she was plenty patient as we took a long time to settle in and look at the menu. She kept coming back every couple minutes and didn't seem annoyed when we told her we weren't ready - another plus. We ordered a kids burger, a skirt steak (I believe with chimichurri sauce, but don't quote me on that) a wedge salad, and a bleu cheese and onion straw turkey burger. After we ordered, the general manager came to check on us. We asked him how the calamari was. He said, "tell you what, I'll send you an order on the house. If you like it, maybe you'll order it next time. If you don't, then no worries." He was also honest with us and said he preferred the way it's prepared at PF Changs. About 15 minutes passed and no food had arrived. Finally, the wedge salad arrived. At one point, the general manager came back and asked about the calamari - we said it hadn't come yet. He went away and came back to say it was communication error with his sever. Not too long after that, the calamari showed up. The calamari was actually extremely good. We really liked the texture and flavor of the calamari rings. They were so good, in fact, that both of our kids ate away without questioning what was inside. About 15 minutes later or so, I told the waitress to bring out the kids hamburger whenever it was ready - my 4 year old was complaining. Eventually, the kids burger came. 5+ minutes later, the rest of the food showed up. The kids burger was delicious. Good flavored meat. The portion was big, especially if you include the fries and the fruit bowl. It could have fed an adult. My bleu cheese turkey burger wasn't great. The bleu cheese was flavorless and the meat had a funny flavor to it. I should have gone with the beef. My wife's steak was good. Nice charred flavor to it, good rub. The portion was plenty big enough for her and the 2 year old with half the steak to spare. We tasted the two recommended wines with our meal (I believe they were bins 99 and 93). We went with the 99, which was a cabernet. I am not sure why people complained about the wine choices - yes, they are all from their own selection, but both wines we tasted were actually quite good and it's hard to complain about a $29/bottle of wine at a restaurant. The meal finished off with a chocolate covered strawberry (included with the kids' meal). When the bill came, we were charged for the calamari. It wasn't a big enough deal to complain, plus it had been after a couple hours and I didn't want to deal with slow service any longer - it was a long night for the kids. I happened to see the general manager on the way out and he asked how the calamari was - I told him it was good but we were charged for it and he gave me his card and told me to email him next time we're there and he'll take care of an entree. All in all, it was a good meal. "A-Ok" seems like a far rating, though 3.5 stars would be better. We're willing to come back.

Sent almost whole dinner back but nothing offered instead. There are too many good restaurants in Cincinnati to go back here again. Go somewhere else!!!

Stopped in for dinner around 7. At this point the restaurant had been open 16 days (we asked). The restaurant itself is a new building and the appearance is very good. After passing through the winery/wine store area at the entrance, there is a bar area where there are also dining tables, then a separate room which is just dining. It was a little loud in the bar area because the walls and floor are all hard surface so you may prefer the dining room if you want a quieter area. The menu has some interesting aspects notably the under-600 calorie section which offers a range of options. There are several vegetarian options throughout. We chose the lettuce wraps and the southwestern burger. The wraps were so-so and unimaginative. The burger was good but the fries were thin and old as if they had been prepared some time earlier. Overall just OK. The big downside for us was the wine. The only wine available is the wine produced by this chain themselves. We tried 4 different wines and all were low quality that would fit in the winebox section of your local store. A couple (the sauvignon blanc and the unoaked chardonnay) were really not good. However they are charged at standard upscale wine prices (7.50-9.50 per glass) We would happily have ordered wine at this price, which is typical in a nicer place, if we had the option of wines other than theirs. But you don't. So if you want wine, you are left with no options. I admire the business model, because what better way to boost your margin, than to be the producer of the wine.. better even than buying wine wholesale. But as a consumer I want the choice. Overall we were disappointed because we wanted this to be a place that we could regularly use. We aren't sure who the target audience is because most people in this price range would expect better wine, and people who don't know wine may not be used to spending this much for it. I could not take customers there with the lack of wine choice either. Sorry we won't be back.

This place has been open for about a week. Normally, I stay away until all the "kinks" can be fixed and try a new place after 6 weeks from opening. However, we decided to try this place on Saturday night. We entered the restaurant in the tasting room. Immediately, we were give a glass of sparkling white wine. It was very refreshing and made me want more. Upon approaching the counter, a friendly guy introduced to the winery/restaurant concept. We had never heard of this place before, but they are growing quickly and source their grapes from Napa Valley. Since this was opening week, we got three more tastings for free. We then decided to try the bar. My favorite wine was the Lux Meritage and my wife enjoyed the Lux Cabernet along with the Zinfadel. We tried the pork tostados for an appetizer and they were awesome. My wife had the Mediterranean salad with chicken and I had the prime sandwich. Both were really good and big portions. I definitely recommend this place.

Quality of food is fair. What is offered is so elaborate there are no really simply cooked options..... I would not go back even for a free meal. I recently took 5 of my team members here for lunch on Friday, December 20th. I made reservations without a problem on Open Table for 11:30AM... good thing, it was jam packed by noon. This is a chain in the Midewest with locations also in Florida. The decor is very, very nice, and they have a wine shop with wines & supplies in the entrance. Since it was a work lunch ( we had to return) I did not pay an attention to the wine & beer menu. We started with the Mexican Drunken Shrimp ($12.99): 5 - Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp, Tequila Lime Butter Sauce, Fresh Guacamole. These were solid, tons of flavor, but for the price I thought we should get a couple more. The menu is very extensive, flatbreads & burgers to steaks, so you should find something you like. Cooper's also has a "Lunch Sized Menu" whish is very nice, lunch entrees portions ranging from $12.99 - $14.99... it was a great value. I ordered the Dana's Parmesan-Crusted Chicken ($12.99): Garlic Green Beans, Tomato Basil Relish, Mary's Potatoes, Lemon Butter. It was good, and the portion was fairly large for lunch, two thin chicken cutlets. My colleages ordered the Cooper's Hawk Chicken Giardiniera ($12.99): Parmesan Breaded Chicken, Giardiniera, Shaved Parmesan, Mary's Potatoes, and the Maple, Mustard & Pretzel Crusted Pork Medallions ($13.99): Mary's Potatoes, Asparagus. Both enjoyed their meals. Another colleague ordered the Crab Cakes, they looked small, but she liked them. Overall I though it was good. It was a bit on the expensive side for the experience. I am all for paying for a great meal, but I also enjoy the feel of a non-chain restaurant which this is not.

Went there last night for my wife's birthday based on a recommendation from a friend of hers. The parking lot was full but the valet parking worked great. We were seated immediately though right across from a party of eight who were pretty noisey till their food came. Our waitress, Sara, was very efficient and pleasant without being obtrusive. We had a bottle of the Lux cab which we both enjoyed. We had the crab cake bites as an appetizer. They were very good and we would order them again. My wife had the crab and lobster bisque which she thoroughly enjoyed. She ordered the New York strip steak which came slightly undercooked. Our waitress returned it and it came back correctly done. The manager, Kim, came out to ensure that she was satisfied with it and when my wife told her it was her birthday, she had a complimentary dessert brought out for her. I had the banana ice cream sandwich which was excellent! Summing up, it was great evening and we are eager to return. Thanks again Kim for all your courtesies!

The food is ok and and the wine is terrible. We each did our own samples that we shared to find one we each liked and had to dig deep to select 1. They advertise that they make their own wine - I see they are based out of IL, last time I checked that is hardly the wine-making capital. Around here we brew awesome beer and spirits, leave the wine to the west coast (CA, OR, WA). I like the atmosphere and wish they would concentrate on their food and serving better wine and I might go back. For my money I'm heading elsewhere - there are tons of great local places in Cinci now and they will get my money.

Meh..... This is a great looking place and the anteroom/tasting room is a great idea that was well-designed and managed. The restaurant was cold and noisy. All of that would have been okay with great food and good wine. Our dinners were standard. I had the grilled tuna served rare. It was overcooked and stringy. We tried three wines and our party agreed that each was sharp and of marginal appeal. We may try again...but not for awhile.

Do not get bisque or crab cakes. Bisque is a stew advertised as crab and lobster full of carrots and shrimp. Crab cakes meh. Do get the wedge salad. The wines are just ok. Ate here for the first time over the weekend and it was some of the best service and food I've had in Cincinnati in awhile. Our server was at another table taking their order so the manager came up right away to take our drink order so we were not waiting. And even though I know she had to of been busy she took the time to go over the different wines and find one that our table would like. The food was amazing. Great place. Very enjoyable evening - good food combinations and menu. Wines weren't outstanding but different and good enough. Beer selection was adequate. Overall very good. Bar scene is good for dinner too and not too loud. Not sure what the point of closing so early is, especially on weekends. It doesn't seem to make sense but for whatever reason the place was mostly vacated by 9:30. Seems like it would be a money making opportunity to stay open later but... for what it is, it is a very enjoyable scene with good food and drink. Atmosphere is classy but still somewhat casual for an upscale restaurant. Individual menu items: over-the-border egg rolls and crab cakes took home high marks.

What breath of fresh air to Cincy. Do a tasting before you sit if you want. If not, bartenders will give you plenty. Meritage and lux Pinot noir are outstanding. Looking for app? I went to Cooper's Hawk yesterday for the first time. I was very impressed by the decor and the warm, lively atmosphere. Our server was friendly and got our order 100% correct even though she did not write any of it down. I enjoyed the Caesar Pesto Salad and the Ahi Tuna Lighter Choice entree. My dinner companions had the Lighter Choice Salmon and the Black Bean Burger. They very much enjoyed their entrees, as well. The food is fresh and innovative. I highly recommend this restaurant and cannot wait to return.
Being that"winery" is in the name of the restaurant you would think their wine selection would be great...not so much. They only serve their own wine- that is made in Illinois. We did the "Lux" wine tasting before dinner and the wine was....okay to say the best - not something I would buy a bottle of to take home. At the end of the tasting there is a sales pitch to join their "club". Now the food was very good. Good selection on the menu. The service was a little pushy...they wanted you in and out...but overall the dinner was very good. I should mention that we ordered BEER with our dinner...no more of their wine.

I wanted to like this place. Firstly, we were seated in a booth with a broken overhead light. This was not a big deal until the end of our experience. The wine is great, the food was great, so no problems there. Service was very slow and I'm not sure why because we had a rather late reservation when things seemed to be winding down a bit. We were seated at 8:20 and didn't leave until 10:15. I enjoyed the Riesling so much that I requested a bottle be added to our bill to take home. Our server brought it in a bag and set it on our table. When we received our bill my husband took note that the bottle had added $25.99 to the bill. While we thought the price to be high, we didn't question until we saw the same bottle priced at $17.99 in the retail portion of the restaurant. We approached the manager, Garrett(I'm assuming this is his name because I called back to ask what his name was) to inquire as to why we were overcharged. He rather snootily explained that this was an "uncorking" fee added when you order the wine in the dining room. Perhaps this was notated on the menu, but since we were seated in the darkness (much like the basement in Silence of the Lambs) I didn't see this, nor was it explained by our server, which I feel is dishonest. Perhaps if I ordered it to enjoy at the table, or if it had actually been uncorked, I could justify the cost, however, we ordered it at the end of our meal right before the check was brought. So I asked Garrett if it was charged because the wine was chilled? He again replied as if I was an idiot that no, it was the UNCORKING FEE. Funny, the wine in my bag still had the cork in it. I will not be back for several reasons, most importantly because I was treated rudely by the manager who seemed to think I was some sort of idiot novice (cute because I have been to wine tastings in Sonoma and treated with kindness and respect in an environment which might actually warrant a little snootery; unlike this chain joint that had top notes of a Gatlinburg winery.) Also I don't think I'd come back for the long service times as I spent a good portion of the visit wishing we could be done. We waited over 10 minutes for two chocolate dipped strawberries. Server was kind and apologetic about wait times but overall this just wasn't worth the aggravation.

The atmosphere was the best part of the venue. We walked into a packed room of taste testers this past Friday evening. People were happy, servers passed around free glasses of Riesling to taste, & the wait for our reservation was short. Our server, Stacey, was great, seemed knowledgeable of the menu, & had things delivered in a timely manner. We ordered flights of red wine, had the filet, & seafood cannelloni. I'm always excited when a new restaurant comes to town. I had the opportunity to dine at the Coopers Hawk in Columbus Ohio so I was looking forward to visiting the new location in Montgomery. I've been there twice so far and I am happy to say that the food was incredible both times. When you enter you walk through the wine and tasting room which offers some interesting merchandise and a lovely array of truffles. The place is warm and inviting and I liked the atmosphere although the Friday night I was there it was really loud and very hard to hold a conversation. The menu offers a full range of options but not overwhelming. I appreciate being able to select from a small plate option to a full meal. I have tried a lot of new places lately but the food at Coopers Hawk was really impressive. Don't pass up on the option for the pretzel bread, it is so worth trying. My first visit I had the Gnocchi with roasted butternut squash prepared with sage, brown butter and shaved parmesan. It was so incredibly tasty. Second time around I tried another Gnocchi with braised fennel and herb ricotta dolce. It had artichokes, portabello mushrooms, kalamata olives, basil and tomatoes. It was equally yummy. I also tried the soup du jour which was white bean with sausage. I am a huge soup fan and can't understand why it is so hard to find good homemade soups. It was superb!! I should have taken some home but hope they have it again next time I visit. So I have bragged about the food and the atmosphere but unfortunately I don't have the same rave reviews for the service. It wasn't bad but definitely not attentive nor were the servers as polished as I thought they should be. Frankly I am baffled that a new restaurant opens up and management is not more vigilant about every single detail and who the staff presents themselves and makes guests want to come back. That being said the food will bring me back again so I can deal with it. I just find it disappointing that a new establishment (or any establishment for that matter) would not strive for excellence from the kitchen to the table. Just my opinion! Until next time, Red Pearl

We were however laughing at the guy who walked in in his pajama pants to pick up his wine ;)

Once our party was seated, we felt rushed. This was our first time here and had questions about the menu. Just didn't feel comfortable here. Went with the parents and my brother to celebrate my mother's bday. My parents were there the week it opened and loved it so that is why we were back for their 2nd week open. We started with the large sampler appetizer and everything on it was delicious..the only "complaint" is that it filled most of us up and it was hard to finish the entrees :). Very generous portions and a plethora of sauces that made it enjoyable to mix and match to try new things. My mother has celiac's so no gluten and that is why we were there. When they were there previous, the menu listed all the gluten free items. We couldn't find the same list this time but my mother got the meal so she knew there wouldn't be any problems. It took a bit longer than expected to get our food since it was early (5:30) and there weren't many people in the restaurant. Also, my mothers order came out about 5 minutes after everyone else's so that stunk because I'm a wait for everyone to get their food before you eat and the food was starting to cool down. I had the scallops and would give them a b+. They seared both sides perfectly and it was a very generous portion size again (5 good sized scallops). Only one had one bite where it was gritty and to be honest that is a win for how often they aren't cleaned properly. For not being a special, they did a great job cleaning them! My only issue was that there was something off with the inside texture. Normally scallops are buttery sort that your tongue can break apart but it had a more gelatinous feel where it was a bit too squishy. Still, they were good and that's why they get a b+. The main reason I didn't give a higher rating is I like to think I know my wines and have had quite a few around the world and the ones here are, to say it nicely, lacking a lot. I like to have wine with my dinner and tried the free sample walking in the door and the cask barrel and neither one was good to me. The service was very good, I especially appreciated a manager coming over to apologize for the food taking so long and bringing my mothers out after everyone else. That shows they care and means a lot to me for customer service. They have a few wrinkles to work out but I will definitely be back in a few weeks once they settle down and hope the food is as good as what I had. Also, kudos to the waitress for bringing a dessert for my mother, on the house, for her bday..that was a great and very generous touch!

Cooper's Hawk is brand a new restaurant to the Cincinnati area and worth checking out! We had the Thai lettuce wraps, chicken Parmesan sandwich and gnocchi carbonara. All of the dishes were so flavorful and so fresh. You can tell they really put some thought and effort behind their menu choices and preparation. Their wine selection is extensive and they are very knowledgable. The two wines I tasted were very good. They have a separate wine tasting room. I highly recommend checking it out.

Tried Coopers Hawk Winery for the first time. Interesting menu but execution did not match the description. I had the maple, Dijon, and pretzel crusted pork medallions. Crust had little flavor and pork was overlooked--not horrible, just average. I also had soup - lobster and crab bisque - as an appetizer. That was good, but our entrees arrived before we were halfway through eating the appetizers. Portions are large. I would rather have better quality and less quantity.

We joined their wine club which has been fun for us and provides us with something fun to do on a monthly basis for their tastings and bottle pickings. We came here on a Tuesday night to celebrate my dad's birthday. It was such a nice restaurant with a beautiful ambiance. You walk past a lobby area full of wine and wine themed items. There is a bar for tastings and neat items to browse through. Past the lobby is the dining area and it's very lovely. My sister and I arrived early for our reservation and they were able to seat us with no problem. They brought us drinks and bread and were very hospitable. We had excellent service that continued throughout the night. Our waitress was outstanding. The food was wonderful. I ordered the create your own surf and turf with the pistachio crusted grouper and maple, mustard and pretzel covered pork medallions. Yum! Yum! Yum! We also enjoyed the pork belly tacos and Mexican drunken shrimp. The presentation of these appetizers was beautiful and they tasted delicious. I ordered the Cooper's Hawk Bellini and really enjoyed it. Definitely a recommendation. We had this banana bread ice cream sandwich for desert (the name escapes me) at our waitress's recommendation. It was an excellent choice. She even brought out some special chocolates, chocolate covered strawberries and coffee---all complementary. It was a wonderful dinner and helped make my dad's birthday very special.

Be sure to get a reservation! Wine pairs were perfect. Loved Chardonnay... Arugula bruschetta was the best I've tasted, ever. The banana desert - amazing. Tuna with asparagus was cooked correctly and was delicious. The crab cakes lacked flavor and were a bit greasy so can't recommend them. Side dishes were tasty although the cole slaw lacked salt and vinegar. The restaurant is noisy and the servers and food runners not as polished as they could be. Overall, I'm a fan!

I've driven past this restaurants many times and finally had the chance to go in late last evening for a drink and some apps. This is my top choice for a semi casual dinner at the moment. We started with the bruschetta topped with arugala, mozarella, cherry tomatoes and a balsamic glaze. Absolutely delicious ! For our main course we ordered the pork chops to share which was cooked to perfection, slightly pink in the middle and very juicy. I have heard great things about their toatadas so I'll have to definitely come back for that !

My first visit was great! The atmosphere is Comfortable and modern. Our sever was attentive and helpful with the wide sections on the menu. Complimentary pretzel bread is yummy and a nice break from the usual free buns everywhere else gives you. Loved that I could creat my own flight of wine , I liked them all and even took home a bottle! The food was amazing. Asian Sriracha calamari!!!! Also the short rib risotto was perfect, tender and creamy. I will be back many times.

Went here on my birthday and had a great experience. I did the tasting before dining. It's 7 dollars for 8 tastes. Definitely suggest doing this. There were at least three people attending to those tasting wine so I felt that the attention we got was personal and professional. We dined after the tasting. The service was very good. The food wasn't bad either. I had the salmon which I would eat again. Our waiter checked on us multiple times and made a big deal outta my birthday. He was personable, funny and just pleasant to be around. I could tell that they really care about their customers here which is something I don't see quite often. I felt like I not only dined I had an experience and it makes into a good memory. Will be back soon!!

We tried out Cooper's Hawk tonight for the first time after reading all the reviews here on Yelp. I placed a reservation for 8pm this evening. First thing that is awesome is free valet. Score! So, we arrived a little early for the reservation but they were ready to seat us, which was fine. Our server approached quickly and explained the concept of the winery/restaurant. She was polite and knowledgeable about the wines and pairings and quickly offered samples and we ordered soft drinks as we arent wine drinkers. She gave us ample time to review the menu and asked if we had questions. The soft drinks, samples of wine, and pretzel bread was brought quickly. We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer. They are amazing. So amazing that we ate them before I got a chance to get a picture of them. I ordered the short rib risotto and it was amazing. The short rib was super tender and the rice was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend ordered the filet mignon cooked medium. Our entrees were brought out with good timing. My dish was great however the filet mignon was WAY undercooked. He sent it back and it came back still undercooked. Sent back again. This time the manager came over and apologized and offered to take care of the filet and desserts which was very nice and unexpected. The same manager left to the kitchen and brought the steak out again. Still undercooked. We know steaks so it wasnt as though we didnt know what we were talking about. The manager apologized again and took the steak back to the kitchen (but left the side dishes, which I thought was nice) This time while the steak was in the kitchen, the manager came back to our table with courtesy cards for free meals on our next visit and apologized. The steak came back with the manager again. This time it was a little over cooked but we didnt say anything. By this time, I was done with my meal and he was finally getting to eat some of his steak. The manager covered 2 desserts and the filet meal. We will definitely be back. The service was outstanding and the food was great, despite the little issue we had this evening. A+++++++++. And definitely get the ooey gooey butter cake...you wont be sorry. The service is outstanding and the food is amazing.

I had a great experience at Cooper's Hawk. The waiter was nice and efficient, the scenery lovely, and the scene lively. I had the seared ahi tuna for an appetizer and it was far above average. I'd put it in the awesome category. I ordered the braised short rib risotto for dinner and it was fantastic. The short ribs are braised for 13 hours according to the waiter and they are very tender and succulent. There were two pieces of what I'd estimate to be 2oz of short rib (no bone). The risotto was great. It had a subtle taste of butter. My date had the pistachio encrusted grouper and I have to say I think I may have preferred that to my own exceptional choice. It came with some kind of mustard sauce on the plate and it was a perfect combination for the very tasty fish. For wine, the best I had was the blueberry wine. It was indescribably good; sweet but not too sweet, and full of wonderful flavor. The crème brulee desert was a great choice too. My only disconcerted observation is that the scene created an intimate environment but it was very loud in there during the dinner rush. It was hard to maintain a comfortable conversation without effort. There were some leanings across the table and "whats" throughout my date.

I avoided this place for a long while...thinking it would be overpriced and a little formal. Man was I wrong. This place is one of the best values that you can get (in my opinion). Service is always on cue, and the food is fantastic. I have been here three times now, and love it. First Visit: My wife made reservations for our anniversary. You walk into this place and are greeted with free wine. Bonus! We were seated promptly and our server was there almost immediately to welcome us, give us the specials, offer suggestions, and take our drink order. I am not a huge wine guy, but I really enjoyed the red wine flight. I wasn't sure what to order, so we started with the pork belly appetizer. It was "melt in your mouth" good. Just got some pasta for dinner, but it was fantastic. At the end of our meal, the server shows up with complimentary wine and dessert for our anniversary. I was blown away. Really made us feel welcomed. Second Visit: We had a friend in town for the weekend and she is a wine drinker, so we decided to take her here. We didn't make reservations, so we had to wait a bit. So we hung out at the bar and had a drink while we waited. This would be my only complaint. When you order in the restaurant, all of the wines have numbers, and you can just order that way. At the bar, the male bartender said "I don't know what that is" when my wife ordered by the number. Anyway, when we were seated, another server came by and asked us if we wanted a free appetizer. Apparently they had made one too many, so Bonus #2! The wine was delicious and the short rib risotto was unbelievable. I would recommend this to anyone. Third Visit: Said friend from visit number two sent us a gift card that we wasted no time using. Went in for Saturday late lunch. It was quiet and we were seated immediately. I got the citrus glazed Salmon with kale salad. I am trying to eat healthier. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the glaze enhanced the flavor of the fish. It was the perfect amount of food for a lunch. I did not put anything in this review about my wife's food, as I am sure she will do her own review.

This was a fantastic place to have a delicious meal on New Year's Eve. The restaurant was roomy (you didn't feel like you were sitting right on top of others), not too loud or too quiet, and it did not have the same stuffy feeling you might get at a Ruby restaurant. The wine was fantastic as well as the mixed drinks, I recommend the white wine flight. The appetizer (Mexican egg rolls) was quite a bit larger than we were expecting--especially for the price. The bread was amazing as well! Entrees were top notch and three of four of us ended up taking parts of our meal home. Our server was hilarious, she kept us entertaining and informed about the menu. Oh boy, we loved this place. Heard they are opening one in our town, Atlanta, and that's good news. It calls itself a restaurant but I saw it as a wine bar that serves food. That is not a slam; we loved it. Lots of noise and buzz so a fun place but not for a quiet intimate dinner.

I love this place. It's all about the wine here and the wine is pretty good especially at the prices they charge for it! Come in and stop in the front for a tasting first. They'll walk you through a selection of eight or ten wines including the wines of the month. Decide what wine you enjoyed the most and head into the dining room. The menu has pairings listed so just go to the wine you liked, order a bottle and the food that it pairs with and enjoy! This place will get you hooked. They have a Wine Club and I signed up for two bottles a month on my third visit. If you like wine this place is a must.

We went to Cooper's for Thanksgiving dinner and everyone had the Thanksgiving special, which was turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, creamed corn, and cranberry sauce with a dessert of choice. Since this is not what they ordinarily serve (dessert being the exception), I am not passing judgment on their entire menu. The food we had was mediocre in terms of quality and temperature. Most of it reminded me of something you would expect to get in a hospital cafeteria or school lunchroom. Lukewarm turkey and potatoes are not very appetizing, nor is food that is thrown on a plate in such a way that it is running together. One of my son's food was delivered with two hairs on top of it, which was really gross. Of course he sent it back. The only exception to the not-so-great food was dessert. The chocolate cake was outstanding. Service was incredibly slow but at the same time very friendly. Our server apologized profusely for the hairy meal and took it off our bill, which was kind. I'd like to give this place a second chance and try something off the regular menu next time around.

I've been meaning to post for awhile now so here it goes. The very first time I ate here was on my birthday. We had reservations and were seated promptly. Everyone's food at the table was fantastic but my own. I'm not one to complain about my food, however the waitress noticed something was wrong when I didn't want a box for my mostly uneaten dish. She and the manager more than made it up to me with a bottle of Cabernet. Since then they have more than ironed out the issue and the same dish is now my favorite on the menu. They have great customer service and a knowledgable staff who make great wine suggestions. We left with a wine club membership and it's now a favorite place to eat!

I really enjoy coming here as part of my wine of the month subscription. I have the $35 level which includes two bottles and two tastings monthly. The best part is that you can have one of your bottles at the table if you decide to stay for dinner, and you don't have to pay the marked up price. All the food I've had is delicious, especially the pastas and the cheese platter. The wines for tastings change every month so you always get something new. They also give you a birthday gift and random credits toward dining to really make the wine club subscription worth it.

A winery restaurant which their food is paired with their wine. Big selections of menu, they got it all...vegetable, poultry, seafood, steak or Burgers. I had an eggrolls which it was a big portion with coleslaw and three kinds of dipping sauce. It was great. I am a vegetable eater so I got myself Napa chicken salad which it was fantastic. All veggies were crispy and fresh. I love their dry cranberries; good side and not to dry. Ohh and their wine, you have to try it. Free testing for every guests. I had their seasonal winter white which serving warm. It was great comfort and great aroma.

Ok, so the wine is not ALLLLL that great but the service is to die for!!! Everyone that worked there was 100% on their game. They answered all my silly questions and let me sampled anything I wanted to try prior to ordering my glass of wine. I do however have to say that I LOVEEEE their ice wine. I'll definitely be back to buy another bottle of that! Especially for the price, most ice wines that taste like that are definitely more expensive. So give this place a try - if you don't stay for the wine.... stay for the great experience. It's worth a try!

They have a new wine tasting every month that gives you a chance to sample their wines before buying. They have many different kinds of wine for everyone to enjoy! Unfortunately my expectations were not met. The menu offering was decent. For lunch I ordered the BBQ Chicken salad and my husband a burger. My salad lacked the avocado and cilantro described on the menu and my husband's sandwich had mayo which he specifically asked to be left off. Whether dining at a one star or five start restaurant, I consider it a must to include all ingredients described on the menu. And if you ask for something to be left off, it best be left off. Service was average. By the time our meals were served and our server came back to check on us it was way too late to ask for our meals to be fixed. When the bill came we had to ask for it to be adjusted since we were charged $8 for two orange juices that were supposed to be included in the price of our kid's meals. Attention to detail was certainly not this establishments strong suit.

Good food and good wine. I came here on a whim when they first opened and then joined the wine club (which I would recommend if you like wine). With the wine club you get two bottles of wine per month and a free tasting for two each month. The wine is good and this makes a great date place.... I highly recommend to do a tasting while you wait for your table or just get there early and give some wines a try. I always look forward to my monthly visit here!
My new favorite place to go for drinks and/or food! My girlfriend and I went for lunch. The food was delicious! Even had a nice selection of gulden free options for my friend. My SO and myself decided to dine here late on a Saturday afternoon. Expecting a long wait we called ahead only to find out their soonest reservation wasn't until 8:30pm. Not unreasonable but we were urgently hungry. We went anyways knowing maybe they could squeeze us in or find space at the bar. Sure enough there was more than just two stools at the bar we actually got to sit at a spacious four top table. We selected a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and our server suggested the upsell LUX ($44) bottle. We agreed and were very pleased we did so. They have a unique aerating device that improves the flavor of your red wine, this is also a fun, interactive, table-top conversation piece. Next we tried, in our opinion, the best two appetizers. Ahi tuna tacos and roasted veggie & goat cheese flatbread. Both were AMAZING!! The ahi tuna was fresh and rare, with a light cabbage slaw base, pico de gallo, avocado, sirachi cream, and the sweet crunch of crispy corn mini-taco shells. The flatbread had a variety of diced veggies, cheese blend and dollops of creamy goat cheese. The flatbread was rich with earthy, savory flavors with just the right amount of occasional sweetness from a balsamic, reduction drizzle. We savored the last few sips of wine and couldn't be more delighted by our experience!

The service was very slow. We were seated and then I had to tell the hostess we had not been seen yet by the waiter. One of the managers came over and asked what we needed. We eventually got samples of the cask wine. We then ordered a flight of wine and a bottle of cab. The cab never came. We ordered and we asked for a second bottle of wine. My wife was then brought a glass of "Sauvignon blanc" that was supposed to be a sample of Sangiovese. It was a red wine called a sauv blanc by the waiter. I would expect a server to know the difference between a white and a red. My wife was told it was not a sample size and she could have a sip but not the entire glass. Very odd transaction. The food came and it was excellent. We had no bottles of wine and we were almost finished with dinner. We eventually received a bottle after we inquired again. The chef is definitely doing an outstanding job, he isn't receiving the support from others. The atmosphere was also very noisy. I would not recommend this for a romantic night. The concept is very fresh and exciting, but they need to work on the service aspect of Cooper Hawk. The two stars given came down to lack of attention and promptness of service and the knowledge of the wine by our server. The food was delicious and recommended.

Loved the Happy Hour experience @ Cooper's the food was good. The service and the atmosphere was great. The prices were affordable for Happy Hour we were so full there was no need for a dinner. We experienced the street tacos, flatbread pizza, spicy shrimp & wontons, bruschetta & egg rolls. Umm good. We were able to celebrate my daughters Birthday and able to bring in a purchased birthday cake to celebrate. My final point is I enjoyed the free wine tastings. My daughter and her friend enjoyed the tastings as well & received information on joining the wine club.

Had a pretty good first time experience, you must get a reservation or don't bother going. This is why I had to knock them 1 star. This is not a restaurant that you can casually walk up & put your name down on peak days such as the weekend. Luckily, we were celebrating a friends recent wedding for a Girl's night out for 4 & I had the good sense to call for a reservation on Saturday night. They open up at 11:30am, I called at 11:45 & the only options were 5pm or 8:30pm. So, definitely plan ahead. Parking is kinda limited but I guess if it overflows you can drift into the other lots for other restaurants. Also, it's a little confusing when you first walk in. The hostess desk is behind the wine store/tasting area. It might be nice to have a little direction b/c one can get distracted with all the wine choices. Since we had a reservation, they seated us right away even though our whole party was not all there (which is nice b/c some restaurants make you wait for the whole party before seating you). The service was great! Our waiter was very energetic & attentive to our table. I like the atmosphere though it was a little dark but I guess that's nice for a more romantic setting. We ended up getting a pitcher of Sangria to share and we had enough for 6 really full glasses. I had the surf & turf with a crab cake/ pork medallion, sautéed veggies & garlic mashed potatoes. We also couldn't stop nibbling on the pretzel bread that they bring you as part of the dining experience. It was really good! A nice surprise was when they brought out a free dessert for our friend that just got married. It was a white chocolate truffle & a giant chocolate dipped strawberry with a chocolate sign that said congratulations on it. It was pretty nice that they asked when I placed the reservation if we were celebrating anything and then took that info and made a special plate. My friend was really happy with the whole dinner & getting to go somewhere nice for a girl's night out. I will definitely come back & highly recommend reservations!

This is my second time coming to Cooper's Hawk. The first time my friend (Brandy V) and I went to the tasting room and tried the wine flights (white and red). That was a great experience. Their wines are super smooth! I am not a huge white wine fan, but I love the Moscato, Blanc De Blanc, and also the Sparkling Almond wine. I couldn't wait to return but this time we dined in on a Friday night (girls night out). We had reservations at 7:00 p.m. and was seated right away. My friend Brandy V had to change the reservations to add one more friend to the list. With no problem, they were able to add her. Our server was very attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable with the food and wines. I started off with a glass Cooper's Hawk Red- Smooth tannins with a core of dark berries, vanilla bean and cracked pepper. Very GOOD! For dinner I got the Pistachio-Crusted Grouper- Mustard Sauce, Mary's Potatoes, Asparagus for $25.99. It was so delicious! Usually when I order grouper, it is flat, the texture was like eating a Mahi Mahi! I absolutely love the breading, which had great taste! The mashed potatoes was thick and asparagus was steamed just right! All of my friends really enjoyed their dinner as well. Besides the food, I really like the decor and the cozy atmosphere. The tables are not cluttered together, restaurant is spacious and love the lighting (not so dark/dimmed, natural lighting coming in in different sections). Cooper Hawk Winery & Restaurant has so much to offer! The tasting room is also a shop that sells wines, gift sets, wine accessories, gourmet foods, and more! My favorite is the display case full of sweets (from chocolate covered strawberries to truffles) DELISH! They also cater, have a wine club, hold private parties and online shopping! Cooper's Hawk has locations in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, Virginia and Wisconsin. I am already looking forward to my next visit! This place is definately top notch with quality wines and foods. I am truly impressed and also find their pricing to be reasonable. I may stop by next weekend to purchase a couple bottles of wine! :)

This was my first time here and we came for happy hour and must say it was awesome. Try sitting in the bar it's great and quick service. The time was a little odd though. Like who has happy hour from 3 to 6 PM?! most people get off at 5 o'clock so that only gives you an hour to really enjoy it. However if you can get off earlier or by 430 and get there they will not disappoint. All glasses of wine and other wine cocktails were $5. They also had a number of appetizers that were about $7 as well. The caprese flat bread is amazing!! The atmosphere in this place is absolutely wonderful very calming but yet upscale but not so over the top that you don't feel comfortable. I'm very anxious to come back and try this place for dinner I heard it's great. You can also come and do tastings and buy wine which is pretty awesome. Most of the bottles seem to be average price. Overall a great new find in the Montgomery/Kenwood area. Ps: did I mention complimentary valet parking? #winning

I believe this location is relatively new. Cooper's Hawk is well known in Chicago but newer to the Cincinnati area. CH obviously has great wine and also great dining options. They offer monthly memberships which include one or two bottles of wine. There are all types of perks for being a member. A percentage of your dining bill will go towards your member points, etc. We had some complimentary tastings when we first came in. CH is very nice and well kept. The wood interior compliments the freshly made wine and wine barrel atmosphere. Service is great here. We came for brunch and our server was on top of her game. She knew everything you could know about CH and was very courteous. She truly loved what she did. All the menu items we had were good, from the bloody mary to the flat bread. We stocked up on some to go items we didn't quite finish and she included some fresh bread that we had refilled several times during our lunch.

A fabulous restaurant! Fair pricing on fantastic food and wine! Wine tastings are $7 for 8. The Asian pork belly toastado is absolutely wonderful! Not too sweet and it just melts in your mouth with a little crunch from the chip! No wonder it's an "award winning" appetizer. lobster bisque was pretty good as well. The prime rib burger is spectacular! My favorite burger in Cincinnati! The Au jus dipping sauce gave a great mouthfeel to the soft bread and tender meat! The chicken carbonara was also delicious! Each visit has been fantastic! Their sweet red is smooth and not too sweet. The Lux Cabernet Sauvignon is my favorite. Staff here are always friendly and accommodating. Went there on a Thursday night and the place seems to cater to middle-aged women out for "ladies' night" drinking wine and conversing. Needless to say my girlfriend was impressed. As for me, I got a steak with veggies and parmesan fries. The veggies were braised carrots and parsnips. The parsnips were okay and I did not care for the carrots which is not the restaurants fault I just generally don't like carrots. The fries were just run of the mill restaurant fries albeit I could not taste the parmesan at all. The steak was pretty good although it was overcooked. I ordered it medium and got it well-done. The rest of the group got sandwiches and they all looked pretty good and were priced appropriately for what they were which was about $10 for a large sandwich and fries. The service we received was outstanding. The atmosphere is top notch. My GF was really impressed that the wine per bottle and for carryout was the same price. She really wants to go back and I will, I think I'll just go with a sandwich next time. It seems like a better bet for an okay sandwich at $10 rather than an overdone steak and lackluster fries for $23.

My friend and I ate here for lunch. We were seated outside and a few minutes later a table was seated after us. We ordered and then waited and waited and waited. The two ladies next to us were on their second course before anyone said a word. Needless to say we were starving and losing patience. Then a manager? stopped by to tell us the chef had burnt my friends entree and our food would be out shortly. After 45 mins our food came out. They didn't offer a cup of soup or bread nor were they apologetic and we were charged in full. Terrible customer service!!!

I ate here for the first time, along with 10 women friends who love wine. I think all of us enjoyed ourselves and will come back. We had made a reservation ahead, but they we not that busy at 12:30pm when we arrived. The service was very good. I'm not a wine drinker so I saved my calories for dessert! Since my friend and I were the only ones to get dessert (we split the chocolate cake and it was very good) there was a small issue with my getting my check & credit card back (I paid for dessert) way after everyone else had begun leaving the table, which was awkward. All of the food looked good, and no one complained about anything. My Chicken Madeira was excellent and I would order it again.

Let me just say, I have visited this place on several occasions (work functions, happy hours, different locations other than Cincinnati) but, would like to give a review on my most recent one. If you have never been, this place is fantastic if you are looking to get introduced to wine. I am not a wine connoisseur by any means but, this place gives you the basic understandings of wine. Was greeted with a tasting pour while I waited for my reservation. The place was completely packed but, they had enough people on staff to accommodate. Joined the Wine Club. 18$ a month for a bottle of wine isnt bad. It is a great marketing strategy to get people coming back monthly. My date had the COOPER'S HAWK CHICKEN GIARDINIERA and loved it. I had the SHORT RIB RISOTTO and thought it was decent for a Risotto. What I liked was that our server recommended a couple wines by the glass that paired with our meals. Not many places in Cincinnati do that and most that try end up failing. I have been to other places locally where servers can recommend the wine that the sou chef suggested for that entree but, the servers arent trained up on the differences of wine and what makes it a great pairing. All in all, I give it a 4 out of 5. Specifically dropped a star for the fact that when we were seated our server brought over a Wine Aerator but, did not explain what it was used for when pouring our wine through it. I understand however, my date did not. It was a great experience and I definitely will be going back.

This place is great. They make their own wine (which is my drink of choice) and are very informative and give great recommendations. The service is great every single time. I go to this place with my mom a lot because of our love for wine. She is part of the wine club which gives you bottles of wine each month that you can pick up at your convenience. It's open and clean which is a plus in a huge restaurant like this place. They have awesome salad, crab cakes, and pasta dishes. You can even walk right in a have a complimentary wine tasting if you'd like. This place is well put together and seems to know what their doing. Also, even though I'm not a huge cocktail fan, they make pretty tasty cocktails that makes me even want to go back for another.

Cooper's definitely separates itself from the monotonous mediocrity that so aptly describes most chain restaurants. I really appreciated their winery/restaurant concept and thought their Lux wines drank very well for the price. It's a brilliant idea because they've removed the middle man from the equation and are able to control wine costs more efficiently. That's not to mention the food, which was very good and fairly priced. Most entrees were between $17-25. The best part might actually be one that we didn't get to take advantage of. Their happy hour includes half priced appetizers (good stuff, not just nachos and hummus) and $5 glasses of wine, including their Lux brand (think Reserve for most wine brands). I'll definitely be back!

Anyways we sat at the bar and Alex, the bartender, was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable; everything you'd expect. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves and will be returning again soon.

I had a blast at Coopers Hawk. I picked this place for a family event and at first some members were hesitant because some did not drink wine, others where veggitarian (and picky) and we had a small child in the group. However, everyone loved it. They sat us in the corner outside which was great for the kid because we were out of the way and it was just nice to be on the patio. As for the wine it was not pushed on anyone who was not interested but the waitress was very able to provide information to those who were. Also, the waitress was very open about offering generous samples of any wine we wanted to taste. When I still couldn't decide she informed me that you could create your own flight which I loved. As for the food even the pickiest of eaters at the table loved there meal. There were plenty of options for the high maintenance food needs of our family and our server sent us home with fresh out of the oven pretzel bread because we had enjoyed it before our meal so much. It was clear that both our server and the restaurant's goal was for us to have a truly enjoyable experience and we did.

Went to Cooper's Hawk on a Tuesday evening with no prior planning We were greeted with a sample of wine as we approached the hostess stand. The decor is comfortable modern with appropriate lighting -not too dark or too light. The same for sound level. Enough buzz without being deafening. The wine is moderately priced with sufficient selection. The Thai lettuce wraps were tasty and generous. Our server warned us that this dish is hands on-a little messy do we were prepared. It would have been nice to have some lemon water or wipes. The shrimp and polenta was very good. Service was above average. Will return in the future.

Went here on a Friday night - my fab in laws were taking me out for a late birthday dinner. We had a reservation but arrived early to get a drink at the bar. I had a champagne cocktail and the fiance had a beer. Obviously you can't go wrong with a Guinness and my champagne cocktail was pretty good too. Dinner was excellent! I had surf and turf - crab cakes and a pretzel and mustard crusted pork medallion - super delish! No complaints on the food at all. We shared a cheese board to start which was also excellent - the jalapeno peach preserve was amazing!! Everything we had was excellent and the staff was great - very professional. We ordered a banana peanut butter pie for dessert - we had to take most of it home b/c of how huge it was - which I did not mind at all, Saturday morning breakfast, SCORE! Also - I thought it was very sweet that they brought out a birthday treat plate for me. A few pieces of chocolate and some strawberries - very thoughtful. Huge selection of wine - I had a pinot nior - can't remember which one - but it was good enough to have 3 glasses. Overall this place was great - I will for sure be returning. The quality of the food and the professional staff made the evening a perfect one!

I've been to Cooper's Hawk twice and had such amazing experiences each time in terms of food, wine, and service. Everyone there is very friendly and you can tell that they love what they do. The interior is very sleek and dimly lit for a more romantic/mellow atmosphere and you can tell it is fairly new. The wine is great and I was very satisfied with the two tastings I've done. If you're into wine or want to develop a better wine palet, the wine club membership is definitely worth it! My boyfriend and I started a membership and you pay a total of $36 for 2 bottles of wine of your choice and two tastings each month. You also get 2 complimentary tastings to bring friends or family! The food there is also very very good and are made with quality and excellent presentation. The pork belly tostadas are my absolute favorite and other apps that I'd recommend are the calamari, ahi tuna tacos, lobster bisque, and the Thai lettuce wraps. I'd also recommend eating out in the back patio. I've yet to try any foods here that I did not like and plan to be a frequent customer.

In a weird set of circumstances I had the opportunity to go to dinner at Cooper's Hawk and the next day went there for lunch. The restaurant itself is an upscale design with comfortable booths and nice sized tables. The ambiance is very warm and allows you to have a conversation without screaming. With that said, I was less than impressed with what they are known for--their wines. I tried their barrel reserve, their merlot, and a cablenet-Zinfandel blend, none of which hit the spot. My girlfriend tried the Sangiovese and the cab blend, and liked them. I was suprised that I did not like them, my pallet could have been off, who knows. For dinner I had soup and salad. I really wanted to try their lobster bisque, I heard it was excellent. Unfortunately the bisque ran out before my order was filled. They tried to make more but it came out more like lobster chowder. The manager was very apologetic and took it off the bill. My girlfriend ordered off their life balance menu and had the tuna tacos. They also have it on the regular menu. There were five tacos to an order with ahi tuna, lettuce and a not too spicy serachi mayo dressing. Very tasty. The presentation was very sharp and I liked the taste of them so much when I came back the next day that is what I had for lunch. Service was great both times there. Even when my server has several large parties both for the holiday. I would go back to try more of the menu and to give the wines a second chance. Seems like they have it together I just had a frustrating first time there.

I have mixed feeling about this place. I've been a total of three times, and I always expect more from the food (however I typically go for the wine). For starters I got the crab and lobster bisque, not sure if there was any lobster in my soup, I think added shrimp to substitute the lobster. My entrée was the Caesar salad with salmon, and that left a lot to be desired. The salmon is very small but had decent flavor, but the salad its self was not as good, I basically just ate the salmon and left the rest on the plate. What keeps me back at this place is the service. My waitress was nothing short of amazing. She was very friendly and prompt in attending to our needs. She made excellent recommendations on wine options for my wife and was very knowledge of the menu. Since I am a wine club member she found discount on my account that I did not know about, she gave everyone at our table a sample of the Ice Wine (my wife's personal favorite) and we all left with a free bottle of the sweet red for having someone in our party sign up for the wine club. Good service will keep me coming back and I've always been pleased with service here. The restaurant can be extremely loud on the weekend but nothing over barring, and be prepared to wait if you did not make reservations.

House barrel wine is overwhelmed by tannins.The dessert wine flight decidedly disappointing and undimensional (something noted to server when we left all three glasses full and he did not remove it from our $90+ bill-- unusual in a finer restaurant.) **Update: headquarters called from Chicago -- twice! Did nothing -- no store credit, coupon to give it a second go. Seriously? Shared the red flight and found both the petit syrah and cab well balanced, stone fruit forward, round leather, tobacco vanilla notes (although not pronounced) in both. The Zinfandel a bit spice note heavy. We love wine, keep a wine refrigerator (buy a case a month) and probably would not return due to inferior wines. Food, however, pretty decent, although not remarkable: a seared scallop dish and surf/turf combination. Correct temperature, perfectly grilled medium rare steak crusted in parmesan althought the pecan crusted flounder bit mushy. chocolate sampler featured good cheesecake chocolate enrobed lollipop, but both vanilla and dark chocolate truffle too hard, mediocre chocolate (as we often make our own with Valrhona chocolate we are perhaps connoisseurs.)

My complaints are that it's extremely loud there. And I mean loud! It's also very crowded. The tables are very close together. The waitress for the table next to us kept bumping into our table. So, even though the food and service were both good, it wasn't a relaxing dinner.

Very nice new place in kenwood. It's a little less expensive than others in the area (Embers, Carlo & Johnny) but I think the food might be a better value based on what you get for the price. Their wine is good, not great, but the atmosphere in the wine tasting area is always great and we love going here for a tasting before dinner (either here or somewhere close nearby). The pork tostadas appetizer are a MUST! Everything else we have had has been very good, from steak to salmon. The only item we didn't care for was the chicken lettuce wraps. My only complaint here is the service. One time we tried to put a reservation in for dinner at the beginning of our tasting and were told not to worry about it. By the time we were done with our tasting there was a 90 minute wait, and they chose not to do anything for the inconvenience.

My wife and I immediately liked this restaurant. The tasting room is the closest experience you will have to a California winery. The staff is excellent and they engage you in great conversation about wine. We joined the club which is a great value for all the club has to offer. On most occasions, the manager has stopped by our table to check on our experience. This came SO close to a 5 star rating... a few months in and this place will be rockin'... it already is fantastic... my main concern is it is TOO fresh and "stiff" - the staff isn't comfortable yet, but they are very on point, attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. No complaints about the service at all - just an overall feeling of... newness - uncertainty... and I also hate that the host staff all wear blazers - personal issue. The other complaint is the water tastes funny - just your usual city water I guess - totally able to overlook. And for those to be my only two complaints.... this winery/restaurant is fantastic. Let's get on with the good stuff: The building is beautiful - lots of stone work, dim lighting, a big tasting room - you literally get a tasting of wine when you walk in the door before you get to the host desk. To the right is the restaurant/kitchen with a private closed off section - perfect for a Yelp event ;-) ahem... There is also a bar area I didn't get to take a close look at. I did not go to the bathroom so I can't comment on those. The food was perfect. I was surprised with the speed in which the appetizers came out followed by the entrees. There is a very eclectic menu (not one type of fare) What we ate: Ahi Tuna - perfection with wonton crackers (only complaint - not served with chop sticks) Vegetable and goat cheese flat bread (loved it except for the carrots - not cooked enough, added a strange crunch - personal preference, so I picked them off) Short rib risotto - STAR OF THE NIGHT! Perfectly al dente risotto, delicious sauce with mushrooms, topped with large slices of parmesan, truffle oil, and tender short ribs. Chicken Saltimbocca - great flavors, huge portion, solid dish. Excellent espresso with a nice crema. Now... saving the best for last... To those who diss the wine...First of all this is a WINERY - they make and sell their own wine... like BREWERIES make and sell their own beer. Go elsewhere if you want options... they have 40+ wines... how are there not enough options? This is the only place in town that I know of that offers a wine straight from the barrel - something I've only experienced in Napa... and it's just as delicious. This winery gets their grapes straight from Napa which is one of the best regions in the U.S. for producing quality fruit which in turn creates quality wines (especially reds) - definitely worth MORE than $7.50 a glass (by the way they pour with a heavy hand). I have had many wines of equal quality priced at $14.00 - the great thing about selling the wine you make is there is no middle man so there is price control. I had the barrel wine, the zinfandel, and the tempranillo-sangiovese. They were all QUALITY wines... and I have consumed A LOT of different wines in my life from different regions. The tasting room is inviting and welcoming (as soon as you walk in) and I will definitely be going back to taste more of their delicious wines. This place is for people who appreciate good food and wine. Mindful ordering suggested - obviously there are going to be some menu items that aren't as satisfying as others. Choose wisely as you would elsewhere.

When they opened they had bad service and poor food. Now that they have been here a while they have upgraded this tremendously. Good neighborhood spot. I love the feel of walking into a winery. A glass of the monthly special awaits you. The wines are a find. They only serve their own but I have been happy with their blends especially. Try the Cab/Zin and the Cab/Malbec. I think you'll find them quite pleasing to the palate.

This restaurant was a fun place to go with friends. We went on a Saturday night and it was very busy - the good kind of busy, not the bad service kind of busy. They let you try multiple wines before deciding what you want. The wine isn't super high quality by any means, but I would recommend Cooper's Hawk because it's a very different restaurant experience and a nice change of pace from most other chain restaurants.

I recently went to Cooper's hawk Winery with some friends and this is a great spot for a large crowd. The atmosphere (fueled by wine) was very loud/lively and the dining rooms are huge so they can accommodate large numbers with out a problem. Being a chain I found it very polished and interesting concept. It is like the cracker barrel of Sonoma. It reminded me a lot of Jay Alexander's, another chain, that does a very good job with decor and food. We were greeted with some healthy wine samples as well as a tasting from the barrel. Free wine is always OK with me. As for the food, it is not necessarily fine dining but all done pretty well and tasty. I just ordered some Lobster bisque, which was delicious, and a sandwich. Pretzel bread is a must along with a cheese plate. Everyone was pretty pleased with their meal, but we had ordered a few flights of wine with some generous pours. The flights are a pretty solid deal. A solid spot that is great for groups and but probably not for wine snobs. If I could do 3.5 stars, I would do that.

This was our second visit to this new, upscale chain restaurant and winery. The winery aspect is a little strange as the wines are made in Chicago using California grapes and are really substandard. It's fun that they are generous with the wine samples but none of us veteran drinkers were able to find any wine that we really liked. The decor is quite beautiful and comfortable. The menu is very extensive and ambitious. The food quality is good but not great. One of our party ordered a pasta dish and requested grated Parmesan. The server explained they don't offer grated Parmesan but there was probably some in the kitchen. Unfortunately, he never returned with any. The service is very spotty. We ordered a calamari appetizer (quite good) and two showed up at the table...likewise with a wine order which was duplicated. In restaurants where the team concept of service is employed, the server needs to take ownership of the table and competently direct the other team members...this was not the case for us last night. Overall, about what you'd expect from a chain operation.

My boyfriend and I got carryout here on Thanksgiving night when we realized that none of the Chinese restaurants were open (which was our original Thanksgiving "plan"). While we were grateful that they were open, and the staff was very friendly, this place is the ponciest place I've ever set foot inside. Their "tasting area" is full of bedazzled gift wine glasses, bedazzled wine shoes (yes, shoes), and various other ridiculous wine accessories. The guy at the front who helped us with our takeout order was very pleasant, but his sense of irony had clearly been surgically removed. The food was fine. Nothing special, but not an abomination either.

If I could give 3.5 stars, I would do so, and this restaurant definitely has the potential for 4 stars. My wife and I were there with our two young kids (4 and 2 years old) for a Monday night dinner. We arrived at 6:12 or so for a 6:15 reservation and were seated almost immediately (the table was ready but they grabbed a high chair) - that was a pleasant introduction to Cooper's Hawk. Our waitress wasn't warm and cuddly, but she was plenty patient as we took a long time to settle in and look at the menu. She kept coming back every couple minutes and didn't seem annoyed when we told her we weren't ready - another plus. We ordered a kids burger, a skirt steak (I believe with chimichurri sauce, but don't quote me on that) a wedge salad, and a bleu cheese and onion straw turkey burger. After we ordered, the general manager came to check on us. We asked him how the calamari was. He said, "tell you what, I'll send you an order on the house. If you like it, maybe you'll order it next time. If you don't, then no worries." He was also honest with us and said he preferred the way it's prepared at PF Changs. About 15 minutes passed and no food had arrived. Finally, the wedge salad arrived. At one point, the general manager came back and asked about the calamari - we said it hadn't come yet. He went away and came back to say it was communication error with his sever. Not too long after that, the calamari showed up. The calamari was actually extremely good. We really liked the texture and flavor of the calamari rings. They were so good, in fact, that both of our kids ate away without questioning what was inside. About 15 minutes later or so, I told the waitress to bring out the kids hamburger whenever it was ready - my 4 year old was complaining. Eventually, the kids burger came. 5+ minutes later, the rest of the food showed up. The kids burger was delicious. Good flavored meat. The portion was big, especially if you include the fries and the fruit bowl. It could have fed an adult. My bleu cheese turkey burger wasn't great. The bleu cheese was flavorless and the meat had a funny flavor to it. I should have gone with the beef. My wife's steak was good. Nice charred flavor to it, good rub. The portion was plenty big enough for her and the 2 year old with half the steak to spare. We tasted the two recommended wines with our meal (I believe they were bins 99 and 93). We went with the 99, which was a cabernet. I am not sure why people complained about the wine choices - yes, they are all from their own selection, but both wines we tasted were actually quite good and it's hard to complain about a $29/bottle of wine at a restaurant. The meal finished off with a chocolate covered strawberry (included with the kids' meal). When the bill came, we were charged for the calamari. It wasn't a big enough deal to complain, plus it had been after a couple hours and I didn't want to deal with slow service any longer - it was a long night for the kids. I happened to see the general manager on the way out and he asked how the calamari was - I told him it was good but we were charged for it and he gave me his card and told me to email him next time we're there and he'll take care of an entree. All in all, it was a good meal. "A-Ok" seems like a far rating, though 3.5 stars would be better. We're willing to come back.

Have always had great dinners until the new menu. Eliminated my favorite dinner. Today's salmon was dry, fishy, and extremely salty. Server could care less. Sent almost whole dinner back but nothing offered instead. There are too many good restaurants in Cincinnati to go back here again. Go somewhere else!!!

Stopped in for dinner around 7. At this point the restaurant had been open 16 days (we asked). The restaurant itself is a new building and the appearance is very good. After passing through the winery/wine store area at the entrance, there is a bar area where there are also dining tables, then a separate room which is just dining. It was a little loud in the bar area because the walls and floor are all hard surface so you may prefer the dining room if you want a quieter area. The menu has some interesting aspects notably the under-600 calorie section which offers a range of options. There are several vegetarian options throughout. We chose the lettuce wraps and the southwestern burger. The wraps were so-so and unimaginative. The burger was good but the fries were thin and old as if they had been prepared some time earlier. Overall just OK. The big downside for us was the wine. The only wine available is the wine produced by this chain themselves. We tried 4 different wines and all were low quality that would fit in the winebox section of your local store. A couple (the sauvignon blanc and the unoaked chardonnay) were really not good. However they are charged at standard upscale wine prices (7.50-9.50 per glass) We would happily have ordered wine at this price, which is typical in a nicer place, if we had the option of wines other than theirs. But you don't. So if you want wine, you are left with no options. I admire the business model, because what better way to boost your margin, than to be the producer of the wine.. better even than buying wine wholesale. But as a consumer I want the choice. Overall we were disappointed because we wanted this to be a place that we could regularly use. We aren't sure who the target audience is because most people in this price range would expect better wine, and people who don't know wine may not be used to spending this much for it. I could not take customers there with the lack of wine choice either. Sorry we won't be back.

This place has been open for about a week. Normally, I stay away until all the "kinks" can be fixed and try a new place after 6 weeks from opening. However, we decided to try this place on Saturday night. We entered the restaurant in the tasting room. Immediately, we were give a glass of sparkling white wine. It was very refreshing and made me want more. Upon approaching the counter, a friendly guy introduced to the winery/restaurant concept. We had never heard of this place before, but they are growing quickly and source their grapes from Napa Valley. Since this was opening week, we got three more tastings for free. We then decided to try the bar. My favorite wine was the Lux Meritage and my wife enjoyed the Lux Cabernet along with the Zinfadel. We tried the pork tostados for an appetizer and they were awesome. My wife had the Mediterranean salad with chicken and I had the prime sandwich. Both were really good and big portions. I definitely recommend this place.

I have dined here three times, two of the three times have been the worst service ever. The problem was NOT with the server and it was the kitchen. Food took forever to come out and in piece meal. Quality of food is fair. What is offered is so elaborate there are no really simply cooked options..... I would not go back even for a free meal. I recently took 5 of my team members here for lunch on Friday, December 20th. I made reservations without a problem on Open Table for 11:30AM... good thing, it was jam packed by noon. This is a chain in the Midewest with locations also in Florida. The decor is very, very nice, and they have a wine shop with wines & supplies in the entrance. Since it was a work lunch ( we had to return) I did not pay an attention to the wine & beer menu. We started with the Mexican Drunken Shrimp ($12.99): 5 - Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp, Tequila Lime Butter Sauce, Fresh Guacamole. These were solid, tons of flavor, but for the price I thought we should get a couple more. The menu is very extensive, flatbreads & burgers to steaks, so you should find something you like. Cooper's also has a "Lunch Sized Menu" whish is very nice, lunch entrees portions ranging from $12.99 - $14.99... it was a great value. I ordered the Dana's Parmesan-Crusted Chicken ($12.99): Garlic Green Beans, Tomato Basil Relish, Mary's Potatoes, Lemon Butter. It was good, and the portion was fairly large for lunch, two thin chicken cutlets. My colleages ordered the Cooper's Hawk Chicken Giardiniera ($12.99): Parmesan Breaded Chicken, Giardiniera, Shaved Parmesan, Mary's Potatoes, and the Maple, Mustard & Pretzel Crusted Pork Medallions ($13.99): Mary's Potatoes, Asparagus. Both enjoyed their meals. Another colleague ordered the Crab Cakes, they looked small, but she liked them. Overall I though it was good. It was a bit on the expensive side for the experience. I am all for paying for a great meal, but I also enjoy the feel of a non-chain restaurant which this is not.

Went there last night for my wife's birthday based on a recommendation from a friend of hers. The parking lot was full but the valet parking worked great. We were seated immediately though right across from a party of eight who were pretty noisey till their food came. Our waitress, Sara, was very efficient and pleasant without being obtrusive. We had a bottle of the Lux cab which we both enjoyed. We had the crab cake bites as an appetizer. They were very good and we would order them again. My wife had the crab and lobster bisque which she thoroughly enjoyed. She ordered the New York strip steak which came slightly undercooked. Our waitress returned it and it came back correctly done. The manager, Kim, came out to ensure that she was satisfied with it and when my wife told her it was her birthday, she had a complimentary dessert brought out for her. I had the banana ice cream sandwich which was excellent! Summing up, it was great evening and we are eager to return. Thanks again Kim for all your courtesies!

The food is ok and and the wine is terrible. We each did our own samples that we shared to find one we each liked and had to dig deep to select 1. They advertise that they make their own wine - I see they are based out of IL, last time I checked that is hardly the wine-making capital. Around here we brew awesome beer and spirits, leave the wine to the west coast (CA, OR, WA). I like the atmosphere and wish they would concentrate on their food and serving better wine and I might go back. For my money I'm heading elsewhere - there are tons of great local places in Cinci now and they will get my money.

Meh..... This is a great looking place and the anteroom/tasting room is a great idea that was well-designed and managed. The restaurant was cold and noisy. All of that would have been okay with great food and good wine. Our dinners were standard. I had the grilled tuna served rare. It was overcooked and stringy. We tried three wines and our party agreed that each was sharp and of marginal appeal. We may try again...but not for awhile.

Do not get bisque or crab cakes. Bisque is a stew advertised as crab and lobster full of carrots and shrimp. Crab cakes meh. Do get the wedge salad. The wines are just ok. Newer addition to Cincinnati but things are already a little sticky and grimy. Go up the road to Embers for same price, better everything.

Ate here for the first time over the weekend and it was some of the best service and food I've had in Cincinnati in awhile. Our server was at another table taking their order so the manager came up right away to take our drink order so we were not waiting. And even though I know she had to of been busy she took the time to go over the different wines and find one that our table would like. The food was amazing. I had a lunch portion and it was more than enough. For the quality of food and the amount you get the price is great. Great for a date night or just a nice dinner with friends.

Great place. Very enjoyable evening - good food combinations and menu. Wines weren't outstanding but different and good enough. Beer selection was adequate. Overall very good. Bar scene is good for dinner too and not too loud. Not sure what the point of closing so early is, especially on weekends. It doesn't seem to make sense but for whatever reason the place was mostly vacated by 9:30. Seems like it would be a money making opportunity to stay open later but... for what it is, it is a very enjoyable scene with good food and drink. Atmosphere is classy but still somewhat casual for an upscale restaurant. Individual menu items: over-the-border egg rolls and crab cakes took home high marks.

What breath of fresh air to Cincy. Do a tasting before you sit if you want. If not, bartenders will give you plenty. Meritage and lux Pinot noir are outstanding. Looking for app? Have to try drunken next shrimp. The bacon is crunchy, shrimp perfectly grilled, sauce outstanding and the guacamole it's served on in fresh. Embers has their work cut out for them...and I love Embers.

I went to Cooper's Hawk yesterday for the first time. I was very impressed by the decor and the warm, lively atmosphere. Our server was friendly and got our order 100% correct even though she did not write any of it down. I enjoyed the Caesar Pesto Salad and the Ahi Tuna Lighter Choice entree. My dinner companions had the Lighter Choice Salmon and the Black Bean Burger. They very much enjoyed their entrees, as well. The food is fresh and innovative. I highly recommend this restaurant and cannot wait to return.

Great food. Worst bar service ever. No more shots at work people. Know your customers. I wish you great success. I keep hearing about wine aeration but we ordered a bottle of the best cab they offer (delicious) and the bartender just threw the bottle on the bar and didn't even pour it for us. The blondie threw a glass of water at me after I begged for the first glass and then begged for a refill an hour later. An appetizer, cups of soup, and three entrées were ordered with the intention of sharing. (Delicious) When the entrées came out they were thrown at us. When i said we want to share, family style, like in Italy. With a smile on my face. The bartender smugly said "we are not in Italy" and walked away. We had to ask a manager for plates. Who threw them at us. The seniority these bartenders are given is very far from deserved. My smile was gone before we left. Mama's night out. Yay! Ridiculous service. They should be fired! I just want to tip my usual 40%. Not a chance. They got 20% with their pennies included. Had I been someone else they would have gotten nothing I'm sure.

Being that"winery" is in the name of the restaurant you would think their wine selection would be great...not so much. They only serve their own wine- that is made in Illinois. We did the "Lux" wine tasting before dinner and the wine was....okay to say the best - not something I would buy a bottle of to take home. At the end of the tasting there is a sales pitch to join their "club". Now the food was very good. Good selection on the menu. The service was a little pushy...they wanted you in and out...but overall the dinner was very good. I should mention that we ordered BEER with our dinner...no more of their wine.

Went for dinner. Red wine short ribs, grilled Atlantic salmon & chicken saltimbocca were very good with large portions. Betty's potatoes were in a nice gratin dish but were bland. They were good to give us wine tastings & the flights are 3 oz pours, which were fine but the wines really weren't all that good. We will definitely go again, but probably will not drink wine. Had a lighter menu, which was a nice touch. Ambience was nice. Should include a salad for those prices. Service was attentive but not very knowledgeable. We had to actually ask for bread & server acted like that wasn't a normal offering, even though bread plates were on the table. With any new restaurant, it needs work but shows promise.

I wanted to like this place. Firstly, we were seated in a booth with a broken overhead light. This was not a big deal until the end of our experience. The wine is great, the food was great, so no problems there. Service was very slow and I'm not sure why because we had a rather late reservation when things seemed to be winding down a bit. We were seated at 8:20 and didn't leave until 10:15. I enjoyed the Riesling so much that I requested a bottle be added to our bill to take home. Our server brought it in a bag and set it on our table. When we received our bill my husband took note that the bottle had added $25.99 to the bill. While we thought the price to be high, we didn't question until we saw the same bottle priced at $17.99 in the retail portion of the restaurant. We approached the manager, Garrett(I'm assuming this is his name because I called back to ask what his name was) to inquire as to why we were overcharged. He rather snootily explained that this was an "uncorking" fee added when you order the wine in the dining room. Perhaps this was notated on the menu, but since we were seated in the darkness (much like the basement in Silence of the Lambs) I didn't see this, nor was it explained by our server, which I feel is dishonest. Perhaps if I ordered it to enjoy at the table, or if it had actually been uncorked, I could justify the cost, however, we ordered it at the end of our meal right before the check was brought. So I asked Garrett if it was charged because the wine was chilled? He again replied as if I was an idiot that no, it was the UNCORKING FEE. Funny, the wine in my bag still had the cork in it. I will not be back for several reasons, most importantly because I was treated rudely by the manager who seemed to think I was some sort of idiot novice (cute because I have been to wine tastings in Sonoma and treated with kindness and respect in an environment which might actually warrant a little snootery; unlike this chain joint that had top notes of a Gatlinburg winery.) Also I don't think I'd come back for the long service times as I spent a good portion of the visit wishing we could be done. We waited over 10 minutes for two chocolate dipped strawberries. Server was kind and apologetic about wait times but overall this just wasn't worth the aggravation.

The atmosphere was the best part of the venue. We walked into a packed room of taste testers this past Friday evening. People were happy, servers passed around free glasses of Riesling to taste, & the wait for our reservation was short. Our server, Stacey, was great, seemed knowledgeable of the menu, & had things delivered in a timely manner. We ordered flights of red wine, had the filet, & seafood cannelloni. I enjoyed the filet, wife hated her meal, & the wine didn't have any character at all. Tasted like it was watered down. Probably won't go back.

I'm always excited when a new restaurant comes to town. I had the opportunity to dine at the Coopers Hawk in Columbus Ohio so I was looking forward to visiting the new location in Montgomery. I've been there twice so far and I am happy to say that the food was incredible both times. When you enter you walk through the wine and tasting room which offers some interesting merchandise and a lovely array of truffles. The place is warm and inviting and I liked the atmosphere although the Friday night I was there it was really loud and very hard to hold a conversation. The menu offers a full range of options but not overwhelming. I appreciate being able to select from a small plate option to a full meal. I have tried a lot of new places lately but the food at Coopers Hawk was really impressive. Don't pass up on the option for the pretzel bread, it is so worth trying. My first visit I had the Gnocchi with roasted butternut squash prepared with sage, brown butter and shaved parmesan. It was so incredibly tasty. Second time around I tried another Gnocchi with braised fennel and herb ricotta dolce. It had artichokes, portabello mushrooms, kalamata olives, basil and tomatoes. It was equally yummy. I also tried the soup du jour which was white bean with sausage. I am a huge soup fan and can't understand why it is so hard to find good homemade soups. It was superb!! I should have taken some home but hope they have it again next time I visit. So I have bragged about the food and the atmosphere but unfortunately I don't have the same rave reviews for the service. It wasn't bad but definitely not attentive nor were the servers as polished as I thought they should be. Frankly I am baffled that a new restaurant opens up and management is not more vigilant about every single detail and who the staff presents themselves and makes guests want to come back. That being said the food will bring me back again so I can deal with it. I just find it disappointing that a new establishment (or any establishment for that matter) would not strive for excellence from the kitchen to the table. Just my opinion! Until next time, Red Pearl

Went with a group of girlfriends and had a fantastic time. We all got the wine flight. Great deal! Appetizers were great. Loves the Ginger Asian salmon. We were too full for dessert. Very noisy environment though. OK with me but do keep that in mind for your group. I marked it as dressy but I did wear my "dressy jean" so maybe that can classified as casual??? We were however laughing at the guy who walked in in his pajama pants to pick up his wine ;)

The entryway felt like facade, warm and welcoming, until we were sent to the dinning area with the angry people. Tried to order a drink from the bar and seemed to be ignored. Once we were greeted, it felt like we were bothering them. Dinner didn't get better, our waitress seemed very irritated as our party was taking time to be seated while some were still tasting wines. Once our party was seated, we felt rushed. This was our first time here and had questions about the menu. Just didn't feel comfortable here. We were with a group of six, who eat out often and love to recommend fun, new places to friends and family. What a shame our recommendation would be to choose to go elsewhere.

Went with the parents and my brother to celebrate my mother's bday. My parents were there the week it opened and loved it so that is why we were back for their 2nd week open. We started with the large sampler appetizer and everything on it was delicious..the only "complaint" is that it filled most of us up and it was hard to finish the entrees :). Very generous portions and a plethora of sauces that made it enjoyable to mix and match to try new things. My mother has celiac's so no gluten and that is why we were there. When they were there previous, the menu listed all the gluten free items. We couldn't find the same list this time but my mother got the meal so she knew there wouldn't be any problems. It took a bit longer than expected to get our food since it was early (5:30) and there weren't many people in the restaurant. Also, my mothers order came out about 5 minutes after everyone else's so that stunk because I'm a wait for everyone to get their food before you eat and the food was starting to cool down. I had the scallops and would give them a b+. They seared both sides perfectly and it was a very generous portion size again (5 good sized scallops). Only one had one bite where it was gritty and to be honest that is a win for how often they aren't cleaned properly. For not being a special, they did a great job cleaning them! My only issue was that there was something off with the inside texture. Normally scallops are buttery sort that your tongue can break apart but it had a more gelatinous feel where it was a bit too squishy. Still, they were good and that's why they get a b+. The main reason I didn't give a higher rating is I like to think I know my wines and have had quite a few around the world and the ones here are, to say it nicely, lacking a lot. I like to have wine with my dinner and tried the free sample walking in the door and the cask barrel and neither one was good to me. The service was very good, I especially appreciated a manager coming over to apologize for the food taking so long and bringing my mothers out after everyone else. That shows they care and means a lot to me for customer service. They have a few wrinkles to work out but I will definitely be back in a few weeks once they settle down and hope the food is as good as what I had. Also, kudos to the waitress for bringing a dessert for my mother, on the house, for her bday..that was a great and very generous touch!

Cooper's Hawk is brand a new restaurant to the Cincinnati area and worth checking out! We had the Thai lettuce wraps, chicken Parmesan sandwich and gnocchi carbonara. All of the dishes were so flavorful and so fresh. You can tell they really put some thought and effort behind their menu choices and preparation. Their wine selection is extensive and they are very knowledgable. The two wines I tasted were very good. They have a separate wine tasting room. I highly recommend checking it out.

Tried Coopers Hawk Winery for the first time. Interesting menu but execution did not match the description. I had the maple, Dijon, and pretzel crusted pork medallions. Crust had little flavor and pork was overlooked--not horrible, just average. I also had soup - lobster and crab bisque - as an appetizer. That was good, but our entrees arrived before we were halfway through eating the appetizers. Portions are large. I would rather have better quality and less quantity.

We live around the corner so it has become a nice meeting spot for us, or a nice place to grab a quality bite. We joined their wine club which has been fun for us and provides us with something fun to do on a monthly basis for their tastings and bottle pickings. Their food is always delicious and service excellent (we had Taylor last time who was pretty funny and we enjoyed him being our server) We would recommend it to everyone who is looking for something fun to do without spending an arm and a leg, but still wants a quality night out without the kids. We came here on a Tuesday night to celebrate my dad's birthday. It was such a nice restaurant with a beautiful ambiance. You walk past a lobby area full of wine and wine themed items. There is a bar for tastings and neat items to browse through. Past the lobby is the dining area and it's very lovely. My sister and I arrived early for our reservation and they were able to seat us with no problem. They brought us drinks and bread and were very hospitable. We had excellent service that continued throughout the night. Our waitress was outstanding. The food was wonderful. I ordered the create your own surf and turf with the pistachio crusted grouper and maple, mustard and pretzel covered pork medallions. Yum! Yum! Yum! We also enjoyed the pork belly tacos and Mexican drunken shrimp. The presentation of these appetizers was beautiful and they tasted delicious. I ordered the Cooper's Hawk Bellini and really enjoyed it. Definitely a recommendation. We had this banana bread ice cream sandwich for desert (the name escapes me) at our waitress's recommendation. It was an excellent choice. She even brought out some special chocolates, chocolate covered strawberries and coffee---all complementary. It was a wonderful dinner and helped make my dad's birthday very special.

Be sure to get a reservation! Wine pairs were perfect. Loved Chardonnay... Arugula bruschetta was the best I've tasted, ever. The banana desert - amazing. Tuna with asparagus was cooked correctly and was delicious. The crab cakes lacked flavor and were a bit greasy so can't recommend them. Side dishes were tasty although the cole slaw lacked salt and vinegar. The restaurant is noisy and the servers and food runners not as polished as they could be. Overall, I'm a fan!

I've driven past this restaurants many times and finally had the chance to go in late last evening for a drink and some apps. This is my top choice for a semi casual dinner at the moment. We started with the bruschetta topped with arugala, mozarella, cherry tomatoes and a balsamic glaze. Absolutely delicious ! For our main course we ordered the pork chops to share which was cooked to perfection, slightly pink in the middle and very juicy. I have heard great things about their toatadas so I'll have to definitely come back for that !

My first visit was great! The atmosphere is Comfortable and modern. Our sever was attentive and helpful with the wide sections on the menu. Complimentary pretzel bread is yummy and a nice break from the usual free buns everywhere else gives you. Loved that I could creat my own flight of wine , I liked them all and even took home a bottle! The food was amazing. Asian Sriracha calamari!!!! Also the short rib risotto was perfect, tender and creamy. I will be back many times.

Went here on my birthday and had a great experience. I did the tasting before dining. It's 7 dollars for 8 tastes. Definitely suggest doing this. There were at least three people attending to those tasting wine so I felt that the attention we got was personal and professional. We dined after the tasting. The service was very good. The food wasn't bad either. I had the salmon which I would eat again. Our waiter checked on us multiple times and made a big deal outta my birthday. He was personable, funny and just pleasant to be around. I could tell that they really care about their customers here which is something I don't see quite often. I felt like I not only dined I had an experience and it makes into a good memory. Will be back soon!!

We tried out Cooper's Hawk tonight for the first time after reading all the reviews here on Yelp. I placed a reservation for 8pm this evening. First thing that is awesome is free valet. Score! So, we arrived a little early for the reservation but they were ready to seat us, which was fine. Our server approached quickly and explained the concept of the winery/restaurant. She was polite and knowledgeable about the wines and pairings and quickly offered samples and we ordered soft drinks as we arent wine drinkers. She gave us ample time to review the menu and asked if we had questions. The soft drinks, samples of wine, and pretzel bread was brought quickly. We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer. They are amazing. So amazing that we ate them before I got a chance to get a picture of them. I ordered the short rib risotto and it was amazing. The short rib was super tender and the rice was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend ordered the filet mignon cooked medium. Our entrees were brought out with good timing. My dish was great however the filet mignon was WAY undercooked. He sent it back and it came back still undercooked. Sent back again. This time the manager came over and apologized and offered to take care of the filet and desserts which was very nice and unexpected. The same manager left to the kitchen and brought the steak out again. Still undercooked. We know steaks so it wasnt as though we didnt know what we were talking about. The manager apologized again and took the steak back to the kitchen (but left the side dishes, which I thought was nice) This time while the steak was in the kitchen, the manager came back to our table with courtesy cards for free meals on our next visit and apologized. The steak came back with the manager again. This time it was a little over cooked but we didnt say anything. By this time, I was done with my meal and he was finally getting to eat some of his steak. The manager covered 2 desserts and the filet meal. We will definitely be back. The service was outstanding and the food was great, despite the little issue we had this evening. A+++++++++. And definitely get the ooey gooey butter cake...you wont be sorry. The service is outstanding and the food is amazing.

I had a great experience at Cooper's Hawk. The waiter was nice and efficient, the scenery lovely, and the scene lively. I had the seared ahi tuna for an appetizer and it was far above average. I'd put it in the awesome category. I ordered the braised short rib risotto for dinner and it was fantastic. The short ribs are braised for 13 hours according to the waiter and they are very tender and succulent. There were two pieces of what I'd estimate to be 2oz of short rib (no bone). The risotto was great. It had a subtle taste of butter. My date had the pistachio encrusted grouper and I have to say I think I may have preferred that to my own exceptional choice. It came with some kind of mustard sauce on the plate and it was a perfect combination for the very tasty fish. For wine, the best I had was the blueberry wine. It was indescribably good; sweet but not too sweet, and full of wonderful flavor. The crème brulee desert was a great choice too. My only disconcerted observation is that the scene created an intimate environment but it was very loud in there during the dinner rush. It was hard to maintain a comfortable conversation without effort. There were some leanings across the table and "whats" throughout my date.

I avoided this place for a long while...thinking it would be overpriced and a little formal. Man was I wrong. This place is one of the best values that you can get (in my opinion). Service is always on cue, and the food is fantastic. I have been here three times now, and love it. First Visit: My wife made reservations for our anniversary. You walk into this place and are greeted with free wine. Bonus! We were seated promptly and our server was there almost immediately to welcome us, give us the specials, offer suggestions, and take our drink order. I am not a huge wine guy, but I really enjoyed the red wine flight. I wasn't sure what to order, so we started with the pork belly appetizer. It was "melt in your mouth" good. Just got some pasta for dinner, but it was fantastic. At the end of our meal, the server shows up with complimentary wine and dessert for our anniversary. I was blown away. Really made us feel welcomed. Second Visit: We had a friend in town for the weekend and she is a wine drinker, so we decided to take her here. We didn't make reservations, so we had to wait a bit. So we hung out at the bar and had a drink while we waited. This would be my only complaint. When you order in the restaurant, all of the wines have numbers, and you can just order that way. At the bar, the male bartender said "I don't know what that is" when my wife ordered by the number. Anyway, when we were seated, another server came by and asked us if we wanted a free appetizer. Apparently they had made one too many, so Bonus #2! The wine was delicious and the short rib risotto was unbelievable. I would recommend this to anyone. Third Visit: Said friend from visit number two sent us a gift card that we wasted no time using. Went in for Saturday late lunch. It was quiet and we were seated immediately. I got the citrus glazed Salmon with kale salad. I am trying to eat healthier. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the glaze enhanced the flavor of the fish. It was the perfect amount of food for a lunch. I did not put anything in this review about my wife's food, as I am sure she will do her own review.

This was a fantastic place to have a delicious meal on New Year's Eve. The restaurant was roomy (you didn't feel like you were sitting right on top of others), not too loud or too quiet, and it did not have the same stuffy feeling you might get at a Ruby restaurant. The wine was fantastic as well as the mixed drinks, I recommend the white wine flight. The appetizer (Mexican egg rolls) was quite a bit larger than we were expecting--especially for the price. The bread was amazing as well! Entrees were top notch and three of four of us ended up taking parts of our meal home. Our server was hilarious, she kept us entertaining and informed about the menu. We didn't feel rushed at all even though the place was busy. I would definitely come back and would also like to try their lunch menu

Dined here on Saturday night with my husband and we both really liked it. We started with the thai lettuce wraps and they were really good. I had the BBQ Chicken salad and it was nice, husband had a flatbread and caesar salad. I made my own wine flight and it was great, we ended up buying a bottle of Blanc De Blanc, it was wonderful! Looking forward to going back again.

Pretty good! Had a surf and turf plate and the steak was off the chart good!! It was little filet medallions each with a parmesan crust that was big time thumbs UP!!! The crab cake was ehh... The side dishes were pretty good too and I really liked the glass of the Zin I had!!

Oh boy, we loved this place. Heard they are opening one in our town, Atlanta, and that's good news. It calls itself a restaurant but I saw it as a wine bar that serves food. That is not a slam; we loved it. Lots of noise and buzz so a fun place but not for a quiet intimate dinner.

I love this place. It's all about the wine here and the wine is pretty good especially at the prices they charge for it! Come in and stop in the front for a tasting first. They'll walk you through a selection of eight or ten wines including the wines of the month. Decide what wine you enjoyed the most and head into the dining room. The menu has pairings listed so just go to the wine you liked, order a bottle and the food that it pairs with and enjoy! This place will get you hooked. They have a Wine Club and I signed up for two bottles a month on my third visit. If you like wine this place is a must.

This was our first time here. Although this a little fake-classy (the wine tasting room feels like an adult Cracker Barrel gift shop), we truly enjoyed our meals and the wine. Additionally, our server Domonique was exceptional. The best server we had in a long time. She had great energy and we could tell she really enjoyed her job. Four adults for dinner. One enjoyed a very good meal. One passed on a very poor meal. The other two were good, but not great. Basically for the price, the meals were pretty average. Service was above average. Ambience was nice. Three of us would go again sometime. One of us would likely not want to go again. All in all we agreed we find other places more enjoyable and memorable.

We went to Cooper's for Thanksgiving dinner and everyone had the Thanksgiving special, which was turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, creamed corn, and cranberry sauce with a dessert of choice. Since this is not what they ordinarily serve (dessert being the exception), I am not passing judgment on their entire menu. The food we had was mediocre in terms of quality and temperature. Most of it reminded me of something you would expect to get in a hospital cafeteria or school lunchroom. Lukewarm turkey and potatoes are not very appetizing, nor is food that is thrown on a plate in such a way that it is running together. One of my son's food was delivered with two hairs on top of it, which was really gross. Of course he sent it back. The only exception to the not-so-great food was dessert. The chocolate cake was outstanding. Service was incredibly slow but at the same time very friendly. Our server apologized profusely for the hairy meal and took it off our bill, which was kind. I'd like to give this place a second chance and try something off the regular menu next time around.

Excellent food. Good for family meal-- kids and parents all satisfied. Son loved the gnocchi. I had the BBQ Pork Chop-- took 1/2 home-- big portions. Ahi Tuna Taco and Drunken Shrimp appetizers are also excellent[ and plenty to go around]. We will be back. Took a star away due to slow service[ 1 hour for entrees]--willing to try again since Mother's Day.

I've been meaning to post for awhile now so here it goes. The very first time I ate here was on my birthday. We had reservations and were seated promptly. Everyone's food at the table was fantastic but my own. I'm not one to complain about my food, however the waitress noticed something was wrong when I didn't want a box for my mostly uneaten dish. She and the manager more than made it up to me with a bottle of Cabernet. Since then they have more than ironed out the issue and the same dish is now my favorite on the menu. They have great customer service and a knowledgable staff who make great wine suggestions. We left with a wine club membership and it's now a favorite place to eat!

I really enjoy coming here as part of my wine of the month subscription. I have the $35 level which includes two bottles and two tastings monthly. The best part is that you can have one of your bottles at the table if you decide to stay for dinner, and you don't have to pay the marked up price. All the food I've had is delicious, especially the pastas and the cheese platter. The wines for tastings change every month so you always get something new. They also give you a birthday gift and random credits toward dining to really make the wine club subscription worth it.

A winery restaurant which their food is paired with their wine. Big selections of menu, they got it all...vegetable, poultry, seafood, steak or Burgers. I had an eggrolls which it was a big portion with coleslaw and three kinds of dipping sauce. It was great. I am a vegetable eater so I got myself Napa chicken salad which it was fantastic. All veggies were crispy and fresh. I love their dry cranberries; good side and not to dry. Ohh and their wine, you have to try it. Free testing for every guests. I had their seasonal winter white which serving warm. It was great comfort and great aroma.

Ok, so the wine is not ALLLLL that great but the service is to die for!!! Everyone that worked there was 100% on their game. They answered all my silly questions and let me sampled anything I wanted to try prior to ordering my glass of wine. I do however have to say that I LOVEEEE their ice wine. I'll definitely be back to buy another bottle of that! Especially for the price, most ice wines that taste like that are definitely more expensive. So give this place a try - if you don't stay for the wine.... stay for the great experience. It's worth a try!

I absolutely love Cooper's hawk! I have been there numerous times - the staff is always very polite and the food is delicious! They have a new wine tasting every month that gives you a chance to sample their wines before buying. They have many different kinds of wine for everyone to enjoy! I definitely recommend you try this place - the burgers are amazing as well as the fish and chips. Their menu is very diverse and I guarantee you can find something that everyone likes!

Great spot for a business lunch. The menu is excellent (and unique) as it has a wine index. What do I mean? Well, there is a number listed with every menu item, and you go to the wine index to find out which wine goes best with your meal. Excellent!

Unfortunately my expectations were not met. The menu offering was decent. For lunch I ordered the BBQ Chicken salad and my husband a burger. My salad lacked the avocado and cilantro described on the menu and my husband's sandwich had mayo which he specifically asked to be left off. Whether dining at a one star or five start restaurant, I consider it a must to include all ingredients described on the menu. And if you ask for something to be left off, it best be left off. Service was average. By the time our meals were served and our server came back to check on us it was way too late to ask for our meals to be fixed. When the bill came we had to ask for it to be adjusted since we were charged $8 for two orange juices that were supposed to be included in the price of our kid's meals. Attention to detail was certainly not this establishments strong suit.

Good food and good wine. I came here on a whim when they first opened and then joined the wine club (which I would recommend if you like wine). With the wine club you get two bottles of wine per month and a free tasting for two each month. The wine is good and this makes a great date place.... I highly recommend to do a tasting while you wait for your table or just get there early and give some wines a try. I always look forward to my monthly visit here!

My SO and myself decided to dine here late on a Saturday afternoon. Expecting a long wait we called ahead only to find out their soonest reservation wasn't until 8:30pm. Not unreasonable but we were urgently hungry. We went anyways knowing maybe they could squeeze us in or find space at the bar. Sure enough there was more than just two stools at the bar we actually got to sit at a spacious four top table. We selected a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and our server suggested the upsell LUX ($44) bottle. We agreed and were very pleased we did so. They have a unique aerating device that improves the flavor of your red wine, this is also a fun, interactive, table-top conversation piece. Next we tried, in our opinion, the best two appetizers. Ahi tuna tacos and roasted veggie & goat cheese flatbread. Both were AMAZING!! The ahi tuna was fresh and rare, with a light cabbage slaw base, pico de gallo, avocado, sirachi cream, and the sweet crunch of crispy corn mini-taco shells. The flatbread had a variety of diced veggies, cheese blend and dollops of creamy goat cheese. The flatbread was rich with earthy, savory flavors with just the right amount of occasional sweetness from a balsamic, reduction drizzle. We savored the last few sips of wine and couldn't be more delighted by our experience!

The service was very slow. We were seated and then I had to tell the hostess we had not been seen yet by the waiter. One of the managers came over and asked what we needed. We eventually got samples of the cask wine. We then ordered a flight of wine and a bottle of cab. The cab never came. We ordered and we asked for a second bottle of wine. My wife was then brought a glass of "Sauvignon blanc" that was supposed to be a sample of Sangiovese. It was a red wine called a sauv blanc by the waiter. I would expect a server to know the difference between a white and a red. My wife was told it was not a sample size and she could have a sip but not the entire glass. Very odd transaction. The food came and it was excellent. We had no bottles of wine and we were almost finished with dinner. We eventually received a bottle after we inquired again. The chef is definitely doing an outstanding job, he isn't receiving the support from others. The atmosphere was also very noisy. I would not recommend this for a romantic night. The concept is very fresh and exciting, but they need to work on the service aspect of Cooper Hawk. The two stars given came down to lack of attention and promptness of service and the knowledge of the wine by our server. The food was delicious and recommended.
