Omg! What a great meal! The vegetarian special rocked! I'm not even a vegetarian. Mushroom risotto with spinach on a roasted tomato salad. Great service too. Sat at the bar and the bar company was even good. Try this place! You won't be disappointed. Wish I would have taken pictures to share.

A friend and I enjoyed Sunday afternoon in Northside for the street festival we were hungry and trying to find a place to eat in stumbled upon Bistro Grace. They had a sign out front advertising specials for the street festival walking in was nice and ice cold as it got pretty hot during the festival so it was nice to cool down. The menu wad pretty limited with a few salads and hummus. I selected the berry chicken salad and a friend selected a side salad and hummus. The hummus portion was pretty generous & my friend enjoyed her salad. The berry chicken salad was pretty good nice and refreshing on a warm summer day. The food was okay but nothing spectacular for a Sunday afternoon I know they're more known for dinner.

I came to Bistro Grace last Sunday with a group of 8 friends. We happened to be in Northside around dinner time, so we stumbled in here on accident. I'm really glad we decided to stop by, because I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was! The restaurant itself was practically empty when we first walked in, so I was pretty nervous, but as I saw more people come in and food come out of the kitchen, I knew we were in a good spot. The bartender was very friendly, and she told us about all of the local beers on tap (good variety!) and the craft cocktails. I'll have to come by later for happy hour sometime because the cocktail list looked super good! I ended up getting the barbecue chicken off of a recommendation from our waitress, and my fiance got the steak. Both of our meals were very good. My chicken was juicy and flavorful, and my favorite part of the dish was the greens! I don't normally like collard greens, but these were well-seasoned and very tasty. My fiance liked the mac and cheese better than I did...To me it was just ok. He really liked his steak; it was cooked well, and was served with a blue cheese spinach/tomato/potato side that was soooo good. I stole a bite or two of his sides... The service was very good, and I thought the prices were reasonable for what you got. I could see how the other reviews would say this is expensive, but I think it's only expensive for Northside...If Bistro Grace were in downtown or Hyde Park, no one would bat an eye at the prices. I also took a peek in the back, and they appear to have a very nice patio back there. I will have to come back for happy hour on the patio before it starts to get cold!

I have never given 5 stars, so I will stick with 4. Lovely atmosphere - we sat outside. Had the prime rib and it was wonderful. Happy hour drinks very reasonable. Service excellent. All in all a wonderful experience and we will be back!

Went back to Bistro Grace to try the full menu and it was all over the place. Word of advice -- go for the amazing cocktails and appetizers, skip the dinner menu. First we ordered the deviled eggs with bologna and truffle (of all things?) Weary it turned out to be very tasty. Second, we ordered the burger and the gnocchi bolognese. This gnocchi was probably the worst I have ever had and it was just slopped in a bowl with a very bland bolognese. Not satisfying, not pleasant to look at. It was all one color, and just all around bad. I took two bites of it and passed it off to my boyfriend and even he wouldn't eat it. The taste was so bad it was pretty much inedible. The burger was a 1.5 out of a 5. Its bun to meat to ingredient ratio was way off. I like char on my burger, but this tasted burnt. Again very bland. The burger was unevenly cooked and just a total wreck. I hate to give this update, but I haven't been served food this bad in a while and really a lot of the ideas are great but the delivery and execution fails horribly. I mean gnocchi bolognese? Yes please! But you have to deliver on flavor (if anything) and this place failed on many levels. Still in love with the inventive cocktail list, the cheese board, & the atmosphere but very disappointed in the full menu. 3 stars because this place does do happy hour well & has a lot of potential. Otherwise, 2.

Always love venturing to the Northside for great food and a great atmosphere! Loved the paintings of cincinnati sprawled along the back wall. Nice craft beer selection and cocktails and the owner/manager was behind the bar when we were there which gave it a homey, welcoming feel. The food was excellent so it was worth spending a little more on a plate that would cost much less down the street. It is too bad Honey did not make it in this space. Hopefully Bistro Grace will be here to stay.
We had a superb dining experience on our first visit to Bistro Grace. Everything from the greeting to the seating, to the service, to the cocktails, was top notch, as was the food. My husband said it: this is beyond excellent. Service was truly professional with the personal touch. We felt very welcome, and our waiter, Jeff, and other staff with whom we interacted seemed genuinely interested in our satisfaction. At least two others in addition to our main waiter stopped to refill water, check on drinks, and ask how we were liking things and if we needed anything, and they managed to do it without being intrusive. The decor is contemporary but charming, colors are muted, lighting is low, seating is cozy and intimate without feeling cramped. Truly a bistro, this is a small restaurant so reservations are probably your best bet. We showed up about 20 minutes after their 4 PM opening on Saturday, by the time we chose our appetizer the place was about half full. About the appetizer... Turns out the chef regularly concocts new and unique interpretations of the humble deviled egg. This week it was Buffalo chicken, complete with shredded meat and blue cheese crumbles worked in to the deviled yolk. Amazing! They were delicious, and perfect as an appetizer; enough to tantalize your taste buds and whet the appetite, but not where you get too stuffed to enjoy your entree. I also opted for a side salad from the starter menu, and had Jeff bring it with the meal. Only $4 for a delightful blend of baby greens with cucumber and grape tomatoes, accompanied by their signature ginger vinaigrette, which was not just out of this world but out of the galaxy. Our dinners this evening were the braised lamb shank, tender, delectable and perfect texture, and for me the Bistro fried chicken. This was--I won't say breaded, but rather enrobed in a crispy-tender, thin coating of some magical mixture which kind of melded to the chicken skin, sealing in the moisture. It was very flavorful. I was afraid to try collard greens--I freely admit, so I subbed the braised black kale. Wow. I'm sure the herb blend is a closely guarded secret but I detected some rosemary for sure. Redskin mashed with Mt. Carmel gravy was soooo comforting, and my husband's Brussels sprouts were probably the best we'd ever tasted. Keep it up, chef!! Two small starters, two entrees, three quality drinks, $80. The price is right. Now although the menu is small, it's varied enough that you will find something that will undoubtedly please. We are looking forward to trying the mussels as well as the scallops. Hmm, the charcuterie plate too, the stuffed calamari....you get my drift. Bar is nicely stocked, with a concise but thoughtfully chosen list of wines and spirits, including a single malt Scotch called Talisker which my husband considers THE best and is not available just anywhere. We had enjoyed dinner so much we decided to move to the bar for a bit before heading out. There it was that I thrilled to the Lavender Lemon Drop martini! Citron vodka, ginger liqueur, lavender bitters. I'm still basking in the memory of those citrus sensations. Bartender Blaise was a pleasure to spend time with. You could tell he enjoys his craft while taking it seriously. He will hold a pleasant conversation with you while not missing a beat in being on the spot for service. This place is a FIND, and I'm looking forward to coming back real soon. If you're not close by, trust me, this is worth the ride.

Great service and food. Desserts are awesome, loved the bread pudding and homemade ice cream. Shared the goetta poutine. OMG so rich and decadent. Also half price wine on Wednesdays!. We'll be back!

Bistro Grace's main attraction is the decor. It's a soothing mix of modern and classic with a high ceiling and dim lights. It's a great place for a relaxing dinner. They also have a decent cocktail selection along with all of the normal entries. There are rotating taps with seasonal beer selections written on a chalkboard. The food was alright. My burger was fine. It was a little bit much for what you get but nothing ridiculous. They do have a $5 burger special on Sunday's, so if your not sure you can try it on the cheap. We were told the gnocchi was house made, which it may very well have been, but it is nowhere close to the best gnocchi in Cincinnati (which resides a Nicola's). The Charcuterie board was huge and makes for a great start for the table. Prices all around were a little steep for what your getting. I also feel like it's a pain in the ass to get to. Northside driving is not the friendliest of experiences. All in all it's a perfectly fine restaurant that is a little rough around the edges but I definitely wouldn't be opposed to going back. I just won't be getting the gnocchi.

The food was bit hit or miss for our first visit to Bistro Grace on a fairly quiet Tuesday evening. The fried chicken was all dark meat and that's ok, but there was very little meat on the bones and it was a bit over cooked making it a little dry and crumbly. My Grace Burger was very well put together with Fontina, bourbon shallots and beer battered onion rings, but it was a somewhat underdone from my preferred medium well. Still, it was a tasty burger--thick, juicy and cheesy--similar to burgers at Terry's Turf Club. Bistro Grace features daily specials and a rotating selection of soup, hummus and deviled eggs. That's where the star of this dinner comes in. The hummus of the day was roasted garlic and it was perfection. In fact, it was the best I've had in the city, edging out even the wonderful versions I've had at Andys Mediterranean Grille and Mediterranean King. When the dark grain pita wedges ran out, I picked up a spoon to finish it off. Big YUM! Aside from the meal--which was overall good--the service was exceptional with a very accommodating hostess and perfectly knowledgeable server (Jeff). I don't think we could have asked for better. That counts for a lot in my book. We'll be back.

In the old Honey spot-- BG still has the ingredients of the former tenant- one part hippy-dippy and two parts fancy-dancy. Bistro Grace makes for a decent date night with a pretty setting, both inside and on the back patio, all in the heart of Northside along Hamilton. The menu is even more quaint than the location. Though limited, there certainly are some tasty treats. Unfortunately, some come at a seemingly cumbersome price. $14 for poutine feels a bit hefty for cheesy fries and gravy, no? Not able to justify the appetizer's price I went with the summer chicken. This was a rich dish with the marinated bird on a bed of fettuccine intermingling with delicious brussel sprouts and bits of bacon. However, I couldn't help but feel heavy by the time I had consumed the better part of my greasy dish. My date enjoyed the Tomato Cappellini, which was one of only a few vegetarian meals available. We also split the toasted potatoes, which had a hint of campfire marshmallows to them. I was disappointed to find that the Ginger Ice Cream, to be served with fresh peaches, was unavailable and wound up passing on dessert as a result. Still, I'm intrigued enough by the menu, including the Heirloom Tomato Salad, and vow to return once my wallet has undergone some recovery. Average Cost - $20 per person.

Below par. Although the service was great, the food was not. The deviled eggs were too mustardy. The duck fries tasted burnt and greasy. The scallops were okay, but the calamari was rubbery and overdone.

This was our first foray into Northside, and coming here was a good choice. At 8:30 on a Saturday it was easy to be seated, but this may not be a good thing. The back patio is delightful although cramped. Menu is not very diverse, and sadly things I wanted were not available. Not a lot of choice. However having Brussels sprouts prepared 2 different ways was unusual and appreciated. I would give the food a solid "B". Wait staff was attentive and pleasant, and service was swift.

I've had dinner here a couple of times and they impressed more with a more casual meal, but I really like this place overall. On Sunday evenings, it's "burger night" and you get a huge, juicy, delicious burger with standard toppings and a mess of pomme frites for half price. Add a beer on tap, and I'm a happy camper. 5 stars for that experience. On another night, my dining companion and I went for actual entrees--she got the wild-caught grilled salmon special and I went for the hanger steak. I had a bite of her salmon and thought it was delicious--nice smokey grilled flavor with a subtle sweetness from the pineapple-miso glaze, but she was disappointed with her sides: basmati rice, under-cooked whole carrots and cherry tomatoes. My hanger steak was a bit overdone, but still flavorful with the Bearnaise sauce that came with it. The accompanying fingerling potatoes were very good, but my carrots (a bit strange that they come whole) were also under-done. That was probably a 3-4 star experience. Service on both occasions was very good--attentive and friendly. The wine list is not extensive, but well-curated (although the addition of a few biodynamic and/or organic wines would be nice); I liked the Chalone Chardonay. The beer on tap list seemed a little short for a place that bills itself as "Craft Beer, Culinary Creations", but I appreciate the local options. They also have a fun cocktail list with some classics and more inventive options. There's a nice warm ambiance inside with grey painted walls, a reclaimed wood panel wall on the back and fun & funky artwork throughout. I definitely plan on going back, but may stick with burgers and sandwiches for a while.

First trip to Bistro Grace. Very good. Nice wine selection. Good local taps. Food was deelish. Lamb shanks, mussels and a good burger. Everyone at the table was happy. The brussel sprouts side was very good. And very well priced. Definitely going back.

Like many others, we were sorry to see Honey close. However, Suzanne (the owner as we came to find out), has done a wonderful transformation of the space and we have had two amazing meals at Bistro Grace in the past couple of weeks. First, with drinks, both the Moscow Mule and the Dark n' Stormy were well prepared and enjoyable. For apps, the Pom Frites and charcuterie plate were well presented and tasty. We then had their Summer Chicken and Hanger Steak - what the menu lacked in entree options was more than made up for in taste. We ended the meal with the tasty cheesecake ice cream. Overall, a great experience we will look forward to sharing with others. Well done!

I didn't think it was possible to revolutionize the Caesar salad, but they managed to do it. We had the Poutine for an appetizer and it was great. Light on the potato, but giant chunks of duck, balsamic glaze and cilantro. Then we did the gnocchi bolognese which we had low expectations for they blew us away. They also have a great local beer selection and friendly wait staff. We highly recommend!

Northside does have a good spot other than taco joints! I could have easily given BR 4 stars, but a couple mistakes made me settle on 3. We went here with friends last night, and had a great time. I called at 4:00 to make reservations. They were booked solid until 7:30 for 4 people. The decor is upscale casual with wood beams on the ceiling and the back wall is wood. It's an open environment with a fairly large bar. The have a decent wine list along with many local brews (Rhinegeist The Truth IPA is my favorite). The menu is simple: 10 starters, 10 main courses, and 6 or so sides to share. I started with the Beet Salad (Greens, almonds, goat cheese & orange mint vinaigrette $8.00). It was solid, a lot of goat cheese & the orange mint vinaigrette is awesome. It is big enough for 2 to share. Our friends started with the Beer Cheese with Pretzel Crostini ($6.00). It's a good sized bowl of beer cheese, and plenty for 2 people. It was very good, I mean how could beer cheese be bad?!? Mistake #1 - they forgot a side salad. The menu isn't 100% clear... the main dishes each have 2 unique sides. I ordered the Grilled Hangar Steak With bordelaise sauce & stout butter ($21.00). This was served with carrots and fingerling potatoes. The steak was very good, cooked perfectly, and the bordelaise sauce was to die for. Mistake #2 - my potatoes were completely raw. My wife and our friend had the Scallops with brown butter hollandaise ($19.00). They were served on a delicious bed of pistachio risotto and brussles sprouts. Finally, our other friend had the Bahn Mi (Pulled pork & pickled vegetable salad $13.00) which was served with fries. It was solid. Overall, it has a great atmosphere, good food, and once they tighten up on a few details it could be a regular spot for us when we are in Northside.

This is a comfortable neighborhood cafe with better than average food, but the prices tell you it aspires to be more. Unfortunately the food doesn't hit the mark. The small menu wouldn't be so much of a problem if all the dishes were well executed but the balance of sweet, salty, tart was off on most dishes. A better burger can be had elsewhere, the house pickled beets were far to vinegary. Overall we did not feel this was a good value for the price.

Strong Manhattan made based on a wide selection of small-batch bourbons. Hummus appetizers could have more of a kick but the pita brea was cooked well. House salad with ginger dressing was well worth the $5.00. Scallops were big and juicy and cooked to perfection: sauce was just enough but not overpowering pairing with the turnips. Yum! Place does not get 5-stars because service was spotty for the price. Back deck area is completely wonderful in the summer! As always, we will return!

Just had an impromptu dinner at Bistro Grace with a friend. We didn't have reservations, but luckily, they were able to get us a seat for two on the patio on a gorgeous night! For starters, we had the duck poutine and shared it. It was delicious! My friend didn't like the maple flavored sauce, but I thought it gave the dish a delicious sweetness. We kept seeing the burgers go by, and we couldn't resist so we both got the Grace Burger. It didn't disappoint! Caramelized onions, mushrooms, and a delicious burger filled me up. My friend got the Mac and cheese with braised pork ribs...SO RICH but so so good. We shared that and nibbled on the fries that came with the burger. I was not a fan of the Margarita I had, but the Moscow Mule was great, and some of the other drinks looked interesting, so we'll definitely be back to try some others. The service was great. At least 3-4 different people who were not our waiter stopped to check on us, so we were never left with an empty drink or wanting for anything. When they brought our food, they knew what went to whom, which is always a nice touch, rather than asking "who had the burger without mushrooms?". They just knew, which is the way it should be. This is easily my new favorite Northside spot, especially since Barrio Tequileria closed.

I realize a carryout order at a place with a menu such as this may not be the norm but if you're not fit to handle it, then don't. After placing an order on the phone with a rude grunting bro, I hoped for a better interaction at the restaurant itself. Hopes were dashed. The hostess pointed me to the bar for my food. The bartender just took my payment, set the food on the counter, and walked away. I'm not asking for a hug and in-depth conversation but maybe can we try for a 'Hello' or 'Thanks'? I'm giving you business. Duck poutine and Grace burger were very good. That said, I'd rather eat at Melt, Tacocracy, Ruth's, etc. where I can always rely on friendly service. You're not wd-50 or Ssam Bar. Be cool.

I was leery of paying 12.00 for a burger. But it was with it. I had the house burger, the poutine and a cucumber mint cocktail. I feel like this is a Treat Yo Self kind of place. The staff is friendly, the food speaks for itself. Would recommend for a date night!

Enjoyed a very good meal here on Saturday. Drinks were excellent; my Moscow Mule was one of the best I've ever had. Duck poutine was great. My scallops were perfect and my wife steak was cooked exactly as ordered. Service was very good. We'll be back. We ate here fairly often when it was Honey and the interior hasn't changed much.

Been to Bistro Grace twice with a group of 6 and 7. Caitlin took great care of us. The menu has a good variety with menu item having a little twist to it making it unique. Try the brussel spouts. Nice craft beer list and they pour a good drink. At the end was a pleasant surprise "the check was reasonable"!

My girlfriend and I have stopped in to Bistro Grace a handful of times since it's opening and have always had a great time! The food gets better each time we dine at BG. As far as appetizers are concerned, the beer cheese with pretzel bread takes the prize! We were begging the owner for the recipe. The duck poutine is a very strong second place and is a unique twist on the traditional favorite. Entrees don't disappoint either. My personal favorite has been the scallops, but my girlfriend raves about the airline chicken. They have a solid burger that we split and it was very flavorful. Our favorite dessert is the bread pudding and it's the only one we have tried. We have gotten it every time we've gone. The wine list is reasonable and they have a lot of wines not typically found by the glass. I appreciate their selection of craft beers. We haven't gotten into their craft cocktails yet but hope to do so this summer, possibly an outside at BG? Prices are reasonable and Sunday burger nights boast a great deal for locals like us! Definitely must try!

Excellent food: Lamb, duck, airline chicken, steak, duck fat fries, pork belly mac & cheese, & well cooked yet not overdone veggies. Laid back, quaint restaurant but unlike the overwhelmingly hippy & über trendy area eateries. Fine selection of beers, knowledable selection of wines. Pretty busy on weekends but worth it.

My boyfriend and I decided to go out to dinner last minute on a Saturday night- Bistro Grace came up in our search for places in Northside, so we decided to go and give it a shot. I have to say, the food and service exceeded our expectations! Michael was our server- his enthusiasm for the place and the delicious menu offerings was contagious. My boyfriend was pleasently surprised when he saw the prime steak on the menu for only $23.00. The steak was served with fingerling potatoes topped with leeks drizzled with a bordelaise sauce, and it was superb. The calamari was presented topped with argula and a sweet chili aioli...to say the least, it was also delicious! We will definitely be going back!

We've been twice and had good experiences. I really like the vibe, it's casual but the food seems upscale yet not-at-all intimidating. I recommend a reservation through Opentable. Most things we've ordered were very good. However, I was very disappointed during our last visit, it's below zero outside and inside the restaurant was so uncomfortably cold. 3 of the 4 adults in our party kept their winter coats on the entire meal!! I'm sorry but I don't want to be shivering during my dinner, turn up the dang heat!! (we saw many other diners also with their coats on). Service is on the slower side, but that doesn't usually bother me. Overall highly recommend :)

Just had dinner for Mothers Day at Bistro Grace. Can easily put this on my list of favorites. Atmosphere was contemporary and comfortable. The food was unique and delicious. The service was excellent. We started with the edemanme hummus, mussels, a ginger beer, and a Moscow Mule cocktail. The ginger beer was a little different, but everything else did not disappoint. Love, love, love the hummus! The entree i ordered was the scallops with Brussels sprouts and coconut risotto all drizzled in some amazing butter sauce that made me wish it weren't rude to lick the plate. My DD had the hanger steak that was tender and tasty. DH had a surf and turf that was a combo of the hanger steak and the scallops. Every bite flavored and cooked to perfection. Of course we had dessert, it was Mothers Day afterall, Bread pudding with caramel sauce and in house made cheesecake ice cream, and a slice of Bonbonerie opracream chocolate cake (a classic favorite for my family). The bread pudding and the ice cream were delicious, not a fan of the caramel sauce as it was a little salty for my taste. The ice cream was the best, creamy and tasted just like cold cheesecake. Operacream cake, well you can never go wrong there. As good as the food was I would be very interested to see what interesting things they would do for Sunday brunch. There is no brunch right now but maybe they will think about trying one? Welcome Bistro Grace! I'll be back!

Our first trip to Bistro Grace was for a very special occasion tonight. We couldn't have chosen better. The decor is lovely, the food was delicious and the service was great. We were neither rushed or left wanting, and I'm not under the impression that is easy to do. my steak was perfection and I can't wait to go back and try the chicken with coconut and mushrooms and risotto. Sounds amazing and my dad loved it. Half priced wine bottles on Monday were an unexpected surprise and I will dream of the olive starter tonight, it was so good. Thanks to everyone at Bistro Grace for making my family's evening so great!!!

This restaurant is definitely a new one of my favorites! It's never too crowded and the atmosphere is always pleasant! Not to mention the extremely nice and talented employees like the waiters and waitresses and the bartender as well! The food is simply amazing! One of my favorites is the chicken in coconut mushroom sauce, delicious. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice friendly place with amazing food and staff! Top notch in my books!
We ate dinner here last weekend and had a great time. Good food, service, atmosphere... I am still dreaming of the chocolate mousse! I really never write yelp reviews but I am excited that such a great restaurant opened in Honey's former location.

I would say my rating would be 3.5 stars, but that's not an option. The service was 5 stars, very attentive without being too much, and the ambiance was 4 stars, nice lighting, private tables, good volume. The food was mixed. My husband and I got drinks (him a smoked cherry porter beer on tap which was good) and me a vodka tonic. The alcohol prices were average, $5-6 for our drinks. We really liked the beer cheese & pretzel appetizer, it was not your typical cheese and had a lot of flavor & was a generous portion. I got the pickled beet salad for $8 which was good, though a little heavy on the dressing. I would have liked to get a more substantial meal but the only vegetarian entree they had was pasta, of which I'm not a huge fan. My husband got the $6 Sunday burger special and he was disappointed, he said his burger was dry & very average. The waitstaff gave us their house spicy mayo and hot sauce which did help the burger a little. We also ordered dessert and that was the most disappointing part of the meal - we got bread pudding with egg nog ice-cream. The bread pudding was a dense, rubbery log and the egg nog ice-cream was nicely flavored but fell apart in chunks and was very icy (versus creamy - not sure if it was some sort of low-fat version or what). Our tab was around $50 including tax & tip. We felt like we would go back for the atmosphere and great service, although the menu didn't excite us much. It would be nice if they had a few more salad and sandwich options in addition to the higher price point entrees (I think they were around mid-$20s). I'm not sure how those higher-priced entrees rate but when I pay $20-$25 per entree I guess I have pretty high expectations. I'd be willing to try them in the future though. Overall we will check it out another time as we live nearby, and it's hard to find restaurants open on Sundays!
Love Bistro Grace. We are from Chicago and had the chance to dine at Bistro Grace twice this summer. Ambiance was wonderful and Suzanne, one of the owners, is a warm and graceful hostess. We loved the food, from the hummus to the Brussel sprouts to the portabello mushroom pasta to the homemade ice cream. We tried fish specials each time and were very pleased. We sat in the garden on our second visit and it was so pleasant. Wish we lived in Cincy to visit more often.

Another "daddy-daughter date" brought us to Bistro Grace. My dad had heard about it in the "Best Restaurants of Cincinnati" challenge. I think we both did really enjoy this place! Bistro Grace has a great drink menu, and we both started off with some excellent craft beers. The flatbread appetizer was nice, and my chicken pasta with brussel sprouts was very salty, but very good. My dad had the special, some sort of pasta, which was decent. Though I always feel weird spending a ton on a burger, that's what I'll be getting when I come to Bistro Grace again. They looked out of this world, and I love that the toppings change every month. My dad finished off with a dessert drink that I so badly wanted to steal, and I devoured my dessert served with homemade ice cream. They had a two-man acoustic band come in later in the night, so we stuck around and listened a bit. It made conversation difficult (the restaurant is not very large at all--make reservations or come early), but they were good so we didn't mind too much. Overall, I'd love to come back! I think it's inclusion on the "Best Restaurants" list was well-deserved.

We were sorry to see Honey close, but excited when we saw that something new was taking its place. Bistro Grace opened Nov 29, and we dined there just over a week later. The short version is that it fits into the space nicely, both in terms of its cuisine and its vibe, and we look forward to eating there again. In detail: - The decor is different than Honey's, but still has an "upscale casual" feel. The walls and woods are darker, and the lighting fixtures are beautiful. The floor plan has been opened up by replacing half the tables with a long booth on one wall, similar to Senate. There was nothing wrong with the way Honey was set up, but I like this a lot too. - Our server was great. Very friendly and engaging, curious about our impressions, and eager to tell us more about Bistro Grace. He wasn't polished the way a server at Orchids might be, but he wasn't awkward about it either (the way most other servers are when you catch them off-guard). - If I recall correctly... Bistro Grace's owner comes from a Chicago restauranteur family, and this is her first solo venture. She tries to source ingredients seasonally and regionally, and specifically, their meat comes from a special farm/butcher whose goal is to create great meats especially for fellow chefs to use. - The menu is simple but with good options. We got the charcuterie plate to start, and it was one of the more interesting meat and cheese boards we've ever had. (A duck thigh paste that was billed as a "cousin" to foie gras pate. Lingonberries.) For dinner I had the scallops, which were cooked beautifully, and each sat on a bed of brussel sprouts (yum) and pistachio risotto (tasty, but a bit rich). Andy got the burger with blue cheese, which he said was really good. - The dessert options were a bit underwhelming, to be honest, so we skipped it this time. We'd love to see some of the inventiveness from the rest of our meal applied to the sweets. Since we've heard that Bistro Grace plans to change their menu with some frequency, we're optimistic that this will be addressed. (Note: That was one problem we had with Honey. Good food, but always the same options, so we couldn't come too often or else we'd run out of things to order/try.) In all, we quite enjoyed our food and our evening at Bistro Grace. And although the dining room wasn't packed, we were impressed at how many people were there considering the place had only just opened. Hopefully BG will continue to find support from the Northside as well as the greater Cincinnati community, because we think it has a lot of potential.

First time at Bistro Grace this past Thursday at 8:30 pm. Hardly anyone in the restaurant - which I really liked. Very quiet and great minimalist decor. Michel our server was knowledgeable, attentive, perfect. Loved my wine- a french varietal recommended by our server. We started off with the deviled eggs- this week was a cheddar & horseradish. As a deviled connoisseur i LOVED them. Very impressed with the presentation. The charcuterie was decent, the bread was honestly a bit too crunchy for my personal preference, but overall a great option. The mussels were perfect. A simple broth with rosemary- which we agreed made the dish. The goetta poutine was also good. I must say there is nothing in this world that can top senate in my mind, but it was decent. The only dish I would say could use a little work on the presentation, but it is poutine after all. We finished with the bread pudding & creme brûlée. I'm not even a fan of bread pudding normally but YUM. Both were exceptional. The biggest issue I had with the place is wondering why they weren't busier on a Thursday night. And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE consider doing a brunch. I so miss the Honey brunch :(

(4)Kev U.

Great atmosphere and quality food. The bread pudding may have been the best thing I have ever put in my mouth. Yum yum.

(3)JoEllen H.
(2)Barbara K. B.

(5)Michael D.
Be cool.
(2)Iggy O.
I was leery of paying 12.00 for a burger. But it was with it. I had the house burger, the poutine and a cucumber mint cocktail. I feel like this is a Treat Yo Self kind of place. The staff is friendly, the food speaks for itself. Would recommend for a date night!
(5)Riana L.
Service and drinks were good, but the food was bland. I won't be going back, there are too many fantastic restaurants in the Cincinnati area.
(3)John B.
(4)ED M.
(4)Lucas B.
(5)Nina S.
Excellent food: Lamb, duck, airline chicken, steak, duck fat fries, pork belly mac & cheese, & well cooked yet not overdone veggies. Laid back, quaint restaurant but unlike the overwhelmingly hippy & über trendy area eateries. Fine selection of beers, knowledable selection of wines. Pretty busy on weekends but worth it.

Stumbled on this place in the old Honey space. Food was amazing, interesting and very reasonably priced! Will be back soon. Run to this place!!

(5)Mary M.
(4)Natalie M.
Never disappointed!! The edamame hummus keeps getting better and better! Had an awesome spinach stiffed portobello tonight. Yum!!! Now I'm enjoying the oh so decadent chocolate mousse. Can I live here? ;)
(5)Jayne F.
(5)Ali D.
Good food, good wine selection and excellent customer service! The server laughed at all my Dad's stupid jokes. The owner was there and she was very friendly. I've had great experiences twice now and will keep coming back. Try the scallops!
(4)Amy H.
(5)Emily K.

I dined at Bistro Grace for the first time with my family a few weeks ago and we have been wanting to go back ever since! To start off we ordered the beer cheese and duck poutine, both of which were very delicious! For the main dish I had the hanger steak and the bordelaise sauce on it was out of this world, it tied the whole dish together perfectly. My mom had the scallops and I tried one and it was exquisite! It was one of the best scallops I had ever had. For dessert we order the creme brûlée and the chocolate mouse and they were both very delicious! I definitely recommend Bistro Grace! The location is great, the restaurant itself is beautiful and unique inside, and the food it wonderful. It's just what north side needed!
(5)Carin H.
We ate dinner here last weekend and had a great time. Good food, service, atmosphere... I am still dreaming of the chocolate mousse! I really never write yelp reviews but I am excited that such a great restaurant opened in Honey's former location.
(5)Carson V.

Loved this spot as Honey and thought anyone with the good sense to buy this place and leave it relatively unchanged would have a similar operation, but while I considered Honey "fine dining" it needs to be mentioned that Bistro Grace is really NOT. The decor change I did notice is the addition of two TVs to the bar area. Now since the restaurant is one giant room everyone is in eye shot of TVs. I hated that. The food was ok. I didn't feel short-changed on account of that. What was bad was the service; it belonged with the TVs. It was TGI Fridays transported to Northside. We were stared and glared at by a "hostess" from the moment we walked in. She sat at the bar (so 10 feet from our table) and stared daggers at our party of four all night. Our server didn't acknowledge at any point that our party was celebrating that night (an engagement) and was generally there to move things along. Biggest offense and peeve was that he brought out everything to our table at once after we ordered appetizer, soup for me and entrees. Our tabletop went from clear to cluttered in about a minute, our entire order served En masse. I wanted to protest but we were having a good time with friends and I assume any place doing this at all or without apology would likely just stick our entrees under a heat lamp or nuke them to buy time. Food note: They were out of the desert I asked for, seemed a bit bummed when we extended our night with after dinner drinks, and the roasted cauliflower soup I ordered was more a fine purée than soup. One and done I think unless the prices or TVs come down
