Their food, drinks, amd wait staff are awesome!! I had the sticky burger (it has peanut butter) it was AMAZING and we got fried pickels with Southwest ranch which were equally as tasty. They get their beef locally and they have many local brews as well as local liquor. I suggest getting something that is on their "nitro" tap..smoothest beer I have ever had. Our waiter was really friendly and super helpful. The only reason I knock a star off is because of the host/hostess they were very rude and walked back amd forth past us multiple times.

If you like good food and beer this is the place for you. Fair prices and the bar staff is the best. Try the archer style wings and phily.

I really like the beer and wings here. The beer is not made in house, but the selection they have is always fabulous! they even host some type of beer club. The wings have a special dry seasoning that I really like so much that I've never given myself the opportunity to try anything else!

Archer's is a good, relaxing place to grab a bite to eat. They have a good selection of drinks, especially their craft beers which switch up / rotate depending on the season and availability. They also have decent bar-type food as well. I really like their pretzels, their sweet potato fries, and Archer's was actually the first tried fried pickles which I ended up really liking. Their service is also pretty good, the waiter usually spends some time going over some highlights of their drink and food menu. Price is decent as well.

We eat at Archers often and it has become one of our favorites. The food is excellent and a good value for the price. They have a great mix of pub food and healthy options. Their flatbread pizzas are fantastic. The service is exceptional as well. They also have a wide selection of beer to choose from. Try the Riegele Privat if you like German brews.

My first time eating here a few days ago and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The BBQ pulled pork is amazing. Great service and pretty fast too.

Go early and plan for a wait. They gotta new phone wait list thingy that is nice and helps with wait management a whole bunch! The bar and table staff are just great and the menu, tho limited, is tasty. Love taking the family here, just hard to get a seat. Its such a good place, its busy at dinner time every night. Good beer selection and the wings and burgers are solid. You won't be sorry for the wait! Just keep an eye on the host/hostess staff at the door and make sure they remember you are there!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in town. They have a wide variety of bar/tavern fare that makes it a place you can frequent and never have the same meal twice. The beer list is impressive and is constantly changing. The service is great and the atmosphere is both boisterous and fun and energetic but also intimate and relaxing.

Good food with an excellent beer selection. Long have I searched for a place in this area with both and I feel I have finally found it in Archer's Tavern. I waited till after my third visit to write the review just to be sure. As expected the dinner last night was perfect as it was the two times before. I say this even after dealing with a 30 minute wait because they were slammed. I honestly DON'T mind waiting that long if it's worth it though. They are slammed on weekend nights for a good reason. It's the best food & beer combo in the area without a doubt. So be forewarned about the wait during primetime on Friday & Saturday. If you go with a party of 10 during that time expect to wait an hour to be seated. Party of 2-4 expect to wait 20 - 30 minutes. The wait staff has been excellent each time despite being busy. Fast 1st drink order, fast refills without you having to beg, and the food comes out quickly. The beer selection is off the charts good and gets refreshed monthly. You can tell the bar manager actually loves beer and loves trying new things which is actually a rarity nowadays. Foodwise the menu is huge so you are bound to find something good. I've had the Brandon burger, boneless hot wings, and pizza. All three were good solid choices with the burger probably being the best. DON'T get the wing and a prayer sauce it is thermonuclear hot. We are looking forward to our next visit here.

Great place to go and dine. Excellent atmosphere, good food, and the service is great. They have a good drink selection to choose from. Only thing I would change is the TVs need updated with larger flat screens

This is just a great local bar/restaurant. We have been going here for years so I was surprised to see I hadn't written a review. They have a decent size bar with about 20 seats plus about 8 bar tables. It's usually pretty crowded but never takes long to get a seat. They have about 20 taps of mostly local craft beer, a good bottle list of beers as well, a decent selection of wine, and a full service bar for cocktails. They have a great menu. Wings, pizza, burgers, sandwiches, and full entrees. You will find something that meets your taste. I'm glad to see them doing well. Many others have failed at this location. It was a Frishes, then UNOs, then multiple other things. Archers is going to make it. Give them a shot.

My husband I have been here several times and we always get the Sticky Burger. Peanut butter on a burger sounds weird, but it's really good. The pepper jelly makes it even better - it should be included, but it's extra and not all servers suggest it so be sure to ask. The fries are really good as well - both the regular and the sweet potato. Prices are very reasonable, especially at happy hour. Service and atmosphere is excellent!

My husband and I went here for the first time on NYE with some friends. While the place was closing early that night, there was hardly a wait. They were crowded but when we arrived at 7:15 we were seated aftwr about 5 minutes. The service was great and the food was excellent. I had the great scott sandwich - it definitely hut the spot. Their fries were amazing. My husband had the bratburger and really enjoyed it. We ordered the pretzel sticks as an appetizer. There wasn't anything special about the pretzels (but they were warm and tasty!) - the honey mustard dipping sauce was really good. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. They have a little bit of everything with an varied beer menu and decent prices. I absolutely want to go back and try some of the other options.

This has become a go to place when my husband and I cannot decide on anyplace else, they always have a great beer selection and a good menu with a lot of variety, from sandwiches, wings, burgers and pizza. I just have to make myself venture off of my favorite menu item, the Sticky Burger occasionally, but the food is good, and the wait staff are good and attentive, and even a few will remember you after you come in several time, which is sign of a good neighborhood place.

Good craft beer selection & a nice atmosphere. The food has never been super impressive, but good enough for when you want to watch a game and a have a few drinks, but not go to a chainy sports bar. 3 is too low, 4 is too high but I erred on the higher side because the service is always great!

Can't understand the five star rating for a neighborhood tavern, but am impressed with the menu and consistency in delivery. Seldom is the parking lot empty in this new establishment that has seen many others come and go at this very location.

  • Steve A.

Archer's is solid...great neighborhood hang out feel, standard tavern menu with a few twists (try the bratwurst burger!), and good beer selection. Service slightly non-attentive, but relax and don't let that stop you from going.

Our first time eating at Archer's last night, surprised we haven't checked it our before since it's so close to our house. Apparently there were a few businesses in this location that didn't fare so well, hopefully Archer's will stick around as they are pretty solid! The atmosphere is pretty nice, TVs all around (if you're into that kind of thing), lots of seating, and a nice bar area that's away from the main dining area. Once we were seated, we were asked what we wanted to drink (a pretty decent draft selection), the server asked what kind of beer we liked which is always a good thing, he actually knew in which direction to guide us based on our preferences. Once we told him what type of beer we wanted, he hurried away and brought back quite a few for us to sample, we didn't even have to ask, really cool service! The menu is pretty diverse with some unique offerings, a little something for everyone it seems. I ordered the soggy bottom sandwich and my wife got the Chicago dog. The soggy bottom was amazing! A deli roll filled with super tender pot roast, mushrooms, onions, and cheese, yum! The Chicago dog was bacon wrapped and then deep fried, wow! The only gripe was that the dog was pretty spicy, while I like spicy it was a little too much for my wife, and usually Chicago dogs aren't spicy. I thought it was awesome! My only issue with the soggy bottom was that when it was brought out, it was a little cold in a few areas, not horrible though but it tasted amazing. Overall Archer's was a solid experience with the exception of a few minor things, I'm sure this will be a semi-regular place for us being that it's so close. Be sure to check them out!

I've frequented Archers several times both for weekday lunches and weekend dinners. Service has always been quick and friendly. Atmosphere is very aligned with a bar type establishment-lots of tvs, heavy on wood accents and a bit darkened. The high ceilings can often lead to the noise level being louder than other dining options. While this does not bother me personally it is worth mentioning. If you start with an appetizer, the pretzel sticks are very tasty. Served piping hot, they have the right amount of salt to compliment either the nacho cheese or honey mustard dips served on the side. I usually get the gourmet grilled cheese or a burger. The grilled cheese is my favorite as it is a blend of four cheeses on sourdough bread. Several in my group highly recommend The Great Scott which is a steak burger. Cooked to order steak on a pretzel bun is hard to beat. The hand cut fries are some of the best I've had but I always have a difficult time choosing between regular or sweet potato fries. An option to have mixed order would be nice. My one star is deducted for the fact that on more than one occasion my sister in law has difficulty maneuvering her wheelchair in the establishment as it is a frequent practice for the restaurant to put chairs at the end of booths with the chairs blocking the aisleways. Not sure but I would think this is not only an inconvenience for the disabled but perhaps a fire code violation. On our visit there this evening, chairs at the end of booths blocked both open paths necessitating our need to have someone unlock the emergency door exit so our party could depart due to lack of wheelchair access.

We were in the mood for some Fish and Chips, so we decided to venture off to Archers, since we are new to the area, and the reviews are pretty good. Here's what we liked: The service was top notch, the atmosphere was a little loud, but that's ok with me- since I have 3 kids that can be loud themselves.. it kinda all gets blended in. My husband enjoyed the beer selection. My children seemed to like their food, I did notice that the chocolate milk was "real" chocolate milk that was made with syrup.. yummm.. Here's what we did'nt like: The Fish and Chips portions were no bigger than the kids meals and twice the price.. I mentioned this to one of the managers as he came and asked how everything was.. I said " where's the rest of it?" He was a little surprised, and hadn't heard a complaint about this before.. I told him that I was thinking about going to Wendy's which was across the street to be satisfied.. He said "Oh No, we can't have that.. he brought out 2 extra pieces each to my husband and I.. which was so nice of him.. but the portions are better at BJ's. All in all, it was good, just don't go there really hungry.

Been going to Archers at least once a week since they opened. They run a tight ship and have hired some great staff. Food is great and have a large selection of beer. Wednesday is when they tap a new beer each week for their "year of beer" celebration. I highly recommend the pizza and wings.

Eat the Soggy Bottom (yeah, you heard me!) This sammich is FULL of pot roast and drippy as all hell. Good service and the waitresses laugh at all of my jokes. I'll be back. It's good for my self-esteem.

First time at Archer's Tavern - my husband had the pizza it was thin, crispy and delicious! I had the best grilled chicken wrap ever! They are also having a chili cook-off - sounds like fun - they are going to pick a winner and feature the recipe for a year on their menu :) Excellent service; clean environment; good concept. I'll be back.

Food and atmosphere was great, but the service was really bad. Our server came and went at his own leisure, we had to ask other servers to track him down for us.

My family and friends have been many times to Archers. We love the atmosphere and food. Never have had a bad experience with service or food. The only things from keeping it 5 stars is no call ahead seating and it can be very loud at times.

This was my second time here. The first time I got the Great Scott steak sandwich and it was very good. This time and got the 1/2 of ribs with the sweet BBQ sauce, fries and Kentucky cole slaw. The fries and the slaw were ok, but the ribs were out of this world! Fall off the bone tender, juicy but not drenched in sauce; you actually tasted the smokey meat and not just the sauce. Some of the best ribs I've ever had.

  • Missy M.

My first time here.was over all impressive. Other than waiting an additional 20 min past our quoted wait time, given we had a large party so it wasn't that bad. However, with no call ahead seating or reservations its hard to get in. Their tables are mostly boths so not really great for a bigger group unless you split up. The hostess that sat us so sweet and poliet. You could tell they had been very busy, and she still smiled without hesitation. Our server was quick and accurate, she didn't miss a step. We had 3 young adults with us and she treated them like adults. Our table had the shrimp po' boy- said to be a little heavy on the batter, the fish and chips-delisious. The texas burger, pulled pork sandwich, fish sandwich and citrus salad I am told were good, everyone cleaned their plate. I had the cheddar bacon chicken sandwich; it was great, tender juicy chicken topped with quality cheddar cheese and crisp bacon. The fries seemed lime fresh cut, lime the carnival fries with the skin on. We split a slice of cheesecake, toffee chocolate I believe and it was amazing. It was a huge slice, creamy rich and perfect. I will definatly go back next time I'm in town.

Talk about first impressions. I dropped by this place on a business trip for a late dinner. I ordered a side salad for $3. It came out looking like something from Ruth Chris fully loaded with the works. The burgers and wings also did not disappoint. This is definitely going to become my Dayton go-to!

They have a pretty mean grilled chicken salad, I recommend it. The bar is nice too. They have a full bar and it is kinda separated from the dining room which is nice. 4/5

It's always either too hot, too cold. The veggie pizza is really good, but the service here really ruins things.

We just went in there again yesterday big ZERO. It was after 2:00 and only about 5 people eating. by 2:40 we still didn't have our food; had to run waiter down. he finally came back and said there was a power surge in the kitchen and the fryers had shut off. Do you think he could have told us that 20 minutes prior. Also I was very specific on my sandwich. I ordered the hawaiian burger, medium rare and please toast the bun on the flat top. he wrote it down; I am assuming the cook can't read. the burger was cooked beyond well done; no juice or flavor, and it was barely warm. the bun was run through their pizza oven and all that does is dry it out like week old bread. Too bad. It was starting to get better. I can always go to Gamedown down the street (48 and 73) and the food is always good and always hot. Tom and Todd are the owners and they make sure everything is good.

Sorry folks wasn't all that excited about the food, neither were my children. I ordered Hawaiian pizza it wasn't good at all. My daughter ordered veggie burger and said it was tasteless, which I agreed. I won't go back being the prices and food isn't all that!

We were first timers on a Friday around 4:30 pm. Loved the atmosphere. The waitress was nice enough after we figured out which one was actually our waitress. Someone seated us, then a guy came and got our drinks and then a girl came and I said oh I thought the guy was our waiter. She said no we tag like that so it's better service for you....ok weird. I ordered blackberry lemonade, was weak and flavorless, I asked if I could get a free refill and she said ," um no, we have to charge you .24cents for the syrup." lol so I smiled and said no thx. We got chips and salsa and we asked for more salsa and she said they have to charge $2 for more. So we left the chips. My Husb ordered their "famous wings", they were good. However, the waitress said, "they only gave you 9 and there should be 10 so we dropped another one for you, I'll bring it out when it's ready."Ok weird again. The menu doesn't specify how many are in the order. I got the Ruben which was okay but you could tell the meat was "luncheon meat" not fresh cut corned beef. I wouldn't recommend this place.

We are here yesterday...first time here.....I was pleased we stopped. My husband had the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries and it was excellent. I had the spinach salad and my Mother-in-law had the Greek salad. We split the Greek pizza. Everything was very delicious. The service was great. Empty glasses were quickly refilled and the staff were all very pleasant....felt as if they were taking their jobs seriously......We will definitely be back. There were several other items on the menu we would like to try.

I absolutely love archers. Its a great restaurant for beer lovers as they have a excellent beer menu. Everything I've ever had on the food menu has been excellent. I for one am a little partial to the hot BBQ chicken wings coupled with a rivertown dunkel to drink. I brought my parents here one night and mom said they had the 2nd best ribs she's ever had (Montgomery inn being #1). If you want a desert I recommend any of the cheesecake.

This place is simply amazing! The staff is very attentive. The Archer dry rub wings are epic. I have never had anything like it before. It was a combination of sweet and savory texture that made me shake my head in disbelieve. This place is heaven.

I was here for the first time a few weeks ago and can't wait to go back. I went for lunch with my other mama friends and our babies so it wasn't overly crowded, which was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had quite a few people tell us that our babies were all so good and that they loved having us. The menu is huge and has lots of options. I got the Reuben, with corned beef, and it was great. Not overly greasy and perfectly balanced. My side was the regular french fries, which was just ok. I would probably get something else next time. The kids menus is AMAZING priced. Nothing over $8 like some other restaurants. The Grilled Cheese I got for my daughter was really good and she enjoyed it. I will definitely return to Archer's really soon to try more of their food.

I've only been here twice. The most startling and memorable fact about Archer's for me- no Happy Hour... at least that is what our waitress said. Give me a happy hour and I'm gonna drink a lot more. All and all, it's just ok. I can't complain. I would go back. Decent beer selection. Nice wait staff. The food was decent, nothing to rave about and nothing to pan. The decor is pleasing and relaxing. Ummm.. that's about all I can think to say about Archer's.

Archer's is a really great place to go for a craft beer and excellent "bar" food. The Sticky Burger is may favorite thing on the menu. It's a bacon cheeseburger with peanut butter on it. Crazy, but great. Their pizzas are really good also. They usually have a pretty good rotating selection of beers also.

This is probably the fourth place that's taken hold of this building, and so far Archer's seems to be doing well fighting off the curse of going out of business. The food is here pretty tasty and the service is wonderful too. The only problem I have with this place is the atmosphere. The tables are extremely close together and It's very hard to stand up in the aisles without bumping into a waiter that's zooming by. The noise level in this place is horrible. I feel as if the sound echoes off of every corner and just amplifies itself into one big ball of noise.

A great dining experience. Great food and a good beer selection. The service is the best we've experienced in the area. The entire staff was friendly, eager to please, and was happy to spend time describing some of the menu items along with the beer selection. Try the Sticky Burger...it's great! Get there early before the crowds arrive or you'll be waiting for a table. We'll definitely be going back.

I believe this place has been open since June 28th. Being that I grew up down the street my parents and I decided to try it out. Here is the history that I know and times I've been to this particular plot of land. Frisches (0) Uno's (1), i just moved to Chicago instead of going back. City Flame (1), forgettable. Archers Tavern (1), the service was good for us. It was loud at times, but not horribly so. The bar actually looked like it would be a great place to hang out and watch a game on one of the big flat screens. I had the Carolina burger. I had heard of pimento cheese on a burger from diners drive inns and dives I think and it actually was good. It was to bad the actually burger was cooked well done instead of medium like I ordered it. So it ended up being pretty dry. I had a handful of fries, which must have been double fried and were really really good. I would hope for maybe two handfuls though and felt a bit skimped. My parents had the fish sandwich and some boneless wings, same response, ok, something about the bun being to big. The prices seem to be typically a dollar or more less than other similar places, so if saving a few dollars makes you feel good there is another reason to come. As time goes by I hope the food will catch up with rest of the experience and hopefully the list will stop at Archers.

I've been to Archer's many times since they've opened and really enjoy it. It has a part restaurant, part pub feel that's hard to find. The wait staff is very friendly, and the management tries to please. If something is wrong with your food or experience, they want to know about it and will try to fix it for you. I like most everything on the menu, and the beer list is great. I have two minor complaints which is why I give it four stars instead of five: it always seems chilly to me, and the acoustics are not good, making it seem loud.

3.5 stars for food 1 star for service A group of 10 of us came to Archers after a scooter ride to Daddy Katz. I know a group of 10 is not a small group but its not THAT big. After we got seated which happened fairly quickly it took FOREVER for anyone to come even to say hello and get our drink orders. A few servers stopped by and said that Anna(?) would be our server and because of the size of the group they didn't want to get our drink orders. This happened at least three times before our server came and finally took our orders for drinks and food. The food took a while but when it came it was hot and good. Nothing amazing but your typical fair. I had the Texas burger which I ordered medium and came out much closer to medium-well to well done but it was still good. My girlfriend ordered her club without lettuce or tomato which they did not get right and another in our group ordered a pulled pork with the coleslaw on the side which it came on the sandwich. Refills were slow to come by for everyone as were straws for said refills. By the time we wanted our checks we had to explain the bill situation a handfull of times and they still got it wrong. A few people in the group said that they usually get great service there but to me it seemed like the servers just didn't care about our group and we were an annoyance to them. I may give Archers another chance when I'm in the area but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Save your money. Nice beer list and reportedly their wings are good. I tried the french onion soup, not good. Croutons were tough and chewy, onions were still crisp, not cooked through, broth was light colored, not brown like a true beef broth and stock is and they simply threw a perfectly square slice of cheese on top and it somewhat melted by the heat of the broth, it was not broiled. The cheese looked like a slice that belonged on the burger. As for a burger, I ordered the Mid-town, burger itself with the onions were decent, handmade, but then they put it on an overwhelming bun. I've ordered the bratwurst burger on it's bavarian pretzel bun before and same thing, maybe they try to make you feel full and satisfied by filling you up on dough. Then there is the noise level, I did not expect a quite dining experience, but I did not expect to have my ears ringing afterwards either. Staff has always been pleasant the few times I've been here before but I am done wasting my money at Archers. Good luck to you if should you decide to give it a try.

We went to Archer's with great expectations and to support local business owners. The atmosphere was nice except for the pesky fly that kept flying around our food. The waitress was less than attentive and did not know about the beers when asked. I got the blackened talipia, seasonal vegys, and sweet potato fries. The talipia was more over seasoned than blackened and luke warm. The vegys were over done. The fires came out 10 min after my dinner and were in a basket with merely a handful of over cooked fries. My husband got the slab of ribs and the cook did agree to make a dry rub instead of barbequed which was nice. The coleslaw was underportioned and tasteless. The prices were good, but will probably not come back. Nothing exceptional here. Were very disappointed. Wanted a business esp local business owners to make a go if it in this location.

They have a pretty mean grilled chicken salad, I recommend it. The bar is nice too. They have a full bar and it is kinda separated from the dining room which is nice. 4/5

Good craft beer selection & a nice atmosphere. The food has never been super impressive, but good enough for when you want to watch a game and a have a few drinks, but not go to a chainy sports bar. 3 is too low, 4 is too high but I erred on the higher side because the service is always great!

Can't understand the five star rating for a neighborhood tavern, but am impressed with the menu and consistency in delivery. Seldom is the parking lot empty in this new establishment that has seen many others come and go at this very location.

Archer's is solid...great neighborhood hang out feel, standard tavern menu with a few twists (try the bratwurst burger!), and good beer selection. Service slightly non-attentive, but relax and don't let that stop you from going.

Went in last night and the staff seemed too busy to take my order, even though there were not that many people in the bar. There were dishes everywhere and the bartender looks at me and says "this place is a mess". I was so disappointed with the service that I did not order any food.

    (1)
  • Julie R.

The food was average. I got Mahi Mahi, had good flavor and was cooked nicely. It sat on long grain rice which tasted like a box mix. Sweet peas were good but very oily. No bread with my meal but that's a personal preference. Very loud place but that seems to be all the rage today. The worst part... The sleeve with my receipt in it, was disgusting! It was covered with greasy fingerprints and crusty food. It's not a place I would run to again. If a group of friends wanted to go, I'd go but would order just a sandwich or something small.

My dad, sister, and I just went to Archers Tavern, and we had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, and the service was great. Defs recommend!

I really like the beer and wings here. The beer is not made in house, but the selection they have is always fabulous! they even host some type of beer club. The wings have a special dry seasoning that I really like so much that I've never given myself the opportunity to try anything else!

Very friendly staff...one of the owners came over to check to make everything was to our liking. Since it was our first time there, the waitress gave us a free order of pretzel sticks. Defs recommend!

Went in last night and the staff seemed too busy to take my order, even though there were not that many people in the bar. There were dishes everywhere and the bartender looks at me and says "this place is a mess". I was so disappointed with the service that I did not order any food.
