Lemon Lust Cupcakes. All you will ever need. Michael Angelo's is found on the East side of Broadview Road almost centered between Sprague and Wallings. It's a cute little building that looks like it should have a bakery in it. And what a gem of a bakery - with an amazing variety of baked goods, and and amazing variety of flavors of cakes, cupcakes and cookies, every wall and flat surface has something absolutely delicious on it. I stopped in to buy Cupcakes for a birthday celebration and I was pleasantly shocked at the low price for really big and delicious cupcakes in an assortment of flavors. I highly recommend alternating bites of Lemon Lust and Chocolate Fudge cupcakes. So Good. They have great capacity for event baking, so your wedding cake needs, dessert trays, everything for a small or large event can be done there. You will not be disappointed, everything but everything is good.

Love love love. Back over a decade ago when they were 1/4th the size enjoyed their bakery and would buy for my mortgage banking customer Now it's a must stop whenever I am back in town and their lady locks are our most requested item for family and friends making the trip down south to visit. One of the gems that I miss. Also ordered a wedding cake for my friends wedding 3 years ago. It tasted as good as it looked! Which is not always the case. You do not have to give up taste for presentation for this place.

I'm really not sure how I keep on forgetting to post a review for this DELICIOUS bakery. But I do. I believe that my mom has been ordering cakes for family get togethers for at least the last five years. We had our wedding cake done from here, as well as numerous birthday cakes for our family. Usually, we get a casada cake, which consists of vanilla cake with strawberry and cream filling. Of course when my birthday came along, my mom offered to get me a cake. Yes, I may now be 32, but am an only child, so don't hate! Anyways, this year, my mom decided to surprise me and get me a purse cake, since I had been talking about this amazing silver Coach purse for at least six months on a daily basis. Thankfully, my hubby got me the purse, but my mom decided to be extra thoughtful and get me a purse cake. Being seven months pregnant, I wanted something different for a cake, so I decided to ask for chocolate with the mocha mousse filling. OH MY GOSH WAS IT DELICIOUS! They really went all out on this cake and was really perfect. I will post a picture of this beauty, it was seriously on point and am now excited to use this bakery for more future family get-togethers. It makes me sad that I don't live in Cleveland, otherwise I'm pretty sure I would be here every week!

Interior was quite a surprise--delightful smell and delicious desserts wall-to-wall. I came in for a truffle tort that I read about. I was not disappointed. Delicious cake and affordable as well. Lady at the register was friendly and happy to explain what the bakery offered for special occasions. Also tried the chocolate dipped pretzels... delicious. Will definitely need to visit again.

I had my daughters first birthday cake ordered here and it turned out perfect. Beautiful and delicious. Everyone asked where we got it from and I proudly told them where. We had red velvet one layer and the Italian strawberry cassata. I wish I knew how to add a picture of it.

It all started with my brother wedding cake. Then came a popcorn cake. I went to Wilton for cake decorating classes. I went back to Michael Angelo. I bought a cake made like a present for my aunt. It was the best. I love them!! This was April 14 weekend. We are going back in May and Aug. My brother started this Leon Reaves...

The cakes here are fabulous and I order one for every holiday, bday, anniversary, etc. and would never go anywhere else for a cake. The only thing that disappoints is the cupcakes. I ordered every flavor and had a taste testing party cuz I was so excited about the cupcakes. Well, the cupcakes were dry and not as flavorful as I was expecting. Maybe my expectations were too high but it was very disappointing. Still looking for that perfect cupcake......

Michaelangelos bakery is phenomenal! As soon as you walk in you can smell the fresh baked cookies and cakes! They have such cheap sugar cookies with frosting which just happen to be my favorite.. They are absolutely amazing! I'm getting married in the summer and want to do a cake tasting with them! I'm sure they are reasonably priced and extremely good! I've also tried their gourmet cupcakes! The cannoli cupcake is TO DIE FOR!! This place is a great place to get the best bakery!

I have been going to Michael Angelo's for quite a few years. But recently, I have found some of their pastry and specialty items to be less than fresh. None of the pre-packaged items have an expiration date, at least I couldn't find any. That means the staff probably doesn't know which one are the oldest. The bakery items are just not as good as they used to be. Guess that's what happens when you become successful and try to become too commercial. They are located just 1/2 mile from my house but I will now drive to another bakery further away. I just personally don't think it's worth the price anymore.

Had the lemon cupcake - found it to be dry, filling had an artificial taste to it, cake had no taste to it. Was anticipating much more due to the long line. People, drive further down Broadview or State, much better bakeries await.

I got my wedding cake from Michael Angelo's, and now it's my go-to bakery for beautiful cakes. They always do an amazing job, whether I order something from their catalog, send them a picture, or just give them a rough idea of what I'm looking for. I've also used them for wedding shower and baby shower cakes and cupcakes. The presentation is a big deal for these types of events, and they always nail it. Their cakes are very good, and many people have complimented/asked where I got the cakes I have purchased from here. I'm not really a huge fan of cake, and I don't like sweet buttercream frosting, which I understand they do quite well--it's just not really my favorite. I also think the pricing is very affordable, especially after doing comparison shopping for wedding cakes. Most bakeries charge by the slice. This bakery does not. For our large wedding, this made several hundred dollars difference. They delivered our cake to downtown Cleveland. They were always courteous and helpful. They tasting was also a lot of fun. The ONLY reason they get four stars instead of five is because cassata cake is pretty much the only cake I like, and while they do it fairly well and their cakes are always gorgeous, I do not think theirs is the best tasting cassata cake in the area.

Their variety of selection is one of the best, from cakes, cookies, cupcakes, bread, and pastries as their main attractions. I have also tried their paczki which was pretty good. No complaints here, but this is probably my 3rd favorite bakery in the area. I prefer their whipped frosting over their buttercream for their cakes, and that's probably what steps it down a notch for me. Comparatively, their pricing is also on the higher end. Still a great bakery!

Betsy is an amazing cake artist! She does an incredible job not only decorating the cakes and making them look like something out of a magazine, but they taste WONDERFUL!! I can't wait for my one year wedding anniversary to get the top tier out!

Kids love it and we love it! Staff is always courteous and prompt So many choices and very very very clean inside! The best!

As soon as you step inside it's an explosion of amazing smells. I have no idea how any of them get anything done other than eating. Stopped in a few days ago to purchase a couple of loaves of bread. Ended up trying a few of their cookies; which were all good. Very nice shop, they have a lot of different things to try!

I was in the area visiting family when my uncle said he'd be going to Michael Angelo's to pick up some Hungarian nut roll (my family is of Hungarian descent). I had never tried Hungarian nut roll before so I didn't know what to expect. Wow, was I in for a treat. He picked up a tray of nut roll and some apple strudel and brought them back for all to try. He also brought back a poppyseed roll, but I wasn't in the mood for getting a positive drug test at work over poppyseeds so I stuck with the nut roll and the strudel. One week later, I'm still trying to figure out which I liked better, but they were both excellent. In fact, I liked them both so much, I had to make about a one hour round trip here for myself to see what else they had to offer. Unfortunately, my fellow Yelpers hadn't previously posted many pictures, so I did my due diligence, snapped a few photos and now I'm spreading the good word. The place smells fantastic. They also sell decorative cookies, cakes, bread, coffee, etc., etc. Out of curiosity, I saw that the nut, strudel, and poppyseed rolls sell for $9 each, but as evidenced by the picture I posted, they're certainly not short changing you here. By the way, one week later, I'm STILL eating the nut roll and it STILL tastes fresh.

After many recommendations, I chose Michael Angelo to make my graduation cake for my dinner party. The staff was extremely helpful and patient as I decided exactly how I wanted the cake to be decorated down to the last detail. I received so many compliments on the design and taste of the cake. I must admit to being a little skeptical of getting red velvet since not many people make it to my liking, but I was pleasantly surprised after tasting it. Would recommend if you're looking for a tasty cake with an awesome design for a special occasion! Pastries are also delicious and fresh!

With all the baking shows and trendy cupcake shops opening up on every corner, pasty has really gotten a lot of attention in the last couple years. Try turning off the tv and stop in here. This is one of the top bakeries in Cleveland, if not the best. I have had 3 wedding cakes come from here.. all were spectacular. Just come in on a Saturday morning and browse the cases. The Smell alone is amazing. Friendly helpful staff and really fast service. I was surprised that the outside of the building and the inside were so drastically different. Once inside, you are going to want to buy one of everything. Not only does everything look amazing, it tastes good too. If you have a choice of locally owned and homemade, choose it. This is a MUST GO bakery!

Yum! Michael Angelo made my wedding cake and it was delicious! Light, fluffy, and the frosting was just incredible. Delivery was easy, and we were able to rent a cake stand. I was probably a really easy bride, as I opted for a plain white cake and then had my florist decorate the cake with fresh flowers in an ombre pattern. I chose yellow cake with lemon and raspberry mousse for the top 2 layers, and a white cake with raspberry mouse for the bottom layer. Prices were very reasonable. The cake was definitely a hit :)

Been here once, picked up a tiramisu cake and macaroons. The cake was fabulous as well as the macaroons. I find the cakes a bit pricey but good.

I called and told them I didn't want anyone else to do my wedding cake except them. When I told them where my reception would be I was immediately told they wouldn't deliver that far (31 miles). The reason they gave is that it was their busy season at that time and they would not drive a cake that far. WHAT?!?!?! I said, "Let me ask you this... WOULD you deliver that far?" Translation: hello, a customer is willing to pay whatever it takes to get a wedding cake to her reception. Pardon me for mistaking your business as a business that needs to make money. Still, the answer was no. I was stunned. And I'm still stunned. I must have told 6 people about this and they couldn't believe it. They said I could have someone come and pick up and transport the cake and then I quipped back that picking up a wedding cake is not like picking up a tux for a wedding. So I guess if you want a cake from here make sure you are getting married across the street. They are not willing to go above and beyond service-wise...even when offered money to do so. Disappointed.

Bad Service! I recently ordered a birthday cake from Michael Angelo's. First off, I brought in a picture and was told they couldn't put it on the cake because it was copyrighted. I completely understood, but then the employee told me to go home and get clip art and come back later instead of helping me come up with an alternative. Next, I specifically told them I did not want fondant. When I arrived to pick up the cake the entire cake was fondant. They would not discount it or anything. They simply told me fondant was more expensive so I was the one getting the deal. Everyone was rude and difficult to work with. I will never go back!

Best bakery in the area by a mile. Cupcakes and parfaits are to die for. They also specialize in custom cakes. Super friendly staff who are always willing to help.

It does not get any better than this! Great Service! Very helpful in understanding your event or celebration and takes the time to make it perfect! The quality is bar none the best! Very professional and the finished product is designed to impress and it does!

Its good. Its not my favorite bakery. I only go here cause my Aunt loves their cakes. When ever I go in, the line is to the door, its always crazy in there. They have fancy cupcakes that are very tasty. The chocolate cream cakes are delicious. They are more expensive than some bakeries.
(4)Bridget M.
I was very dissapointed in this bakery. I went to order around 60 cupcakes for a party I'm planning, and received absolutely no help from the staff. I waited in line and eventually left because the workers seemed more concerned with their "regulars". It appears that they only have speciality cupcakes with cream on the inside - something I didn't want. If you want cupcakes without anything inside, it appears that they only carry plain white cupcakes with frosting. Also, the baked goods seemed very overpriced compared to other bakeries in the area. The other pastries looked delicious, however, I wouldn't know how it tastes as I was ignored by the staff.

Me and my family have been getting our birthday cakes here since they've opened. The strawberry filled cassata cake with whipped cream frosting is our standard. (I prefer buttercream but to each his own). The prices are fair for the quality of product that we get. Light fluffy cakes with equally fluffy frosting, filled with, maybe, the best cassata filling I've had. All for under $25. Sure, you could go to Giant Eagle, get something that is distinctly "meh," add to the monopoly they've got going on... But if you want real, good cake, this is your place. I am also impressed with their wide variety of cupcakes! So pretty! My personal favorite is the banana cream pie cupcake. Whipped cream frosting (I know I said I liked the buttercream, so sue me) crushed walnuts, banana cake, banana custard filling, and chocolate drizzle... Oh rapture! They also have a variety of chocolates, breads, cookies, tarts, and more! All Delicious! Easily my favorite bakery. Service has always been excellent. The customer is always right! And the store is tidy, organized, and warmly decorated. Which is exactly why we've been repeat customers for these past couple years. 5 big stars! Give this place a try! You won't be disappointed.

It's such a treat to go here. It's a lovely bakery full of great smells and sights. There are so many options, I take forever to decide. Presentation is prime at Michael Angelo's. The bakery looks as delicious as it tastes. My husband and I served Michael Angelo's tiramisu parfaits at our wedding. We were sold at first bite. *It is the best tiramisu I've ever had.* They were wonderful to work with for our wedding. We ordered 150 parfaits. Michael Angelo's was helpful and friendly, the parfaits were fresh, and our guests raved. They didn't miss wedding cake one bit. It was awesome. My step-dad stops here almost every week to pick up treats for my grandparents. So I've also tried their cheeesecakes, cookies, and coffee too. Their pumpkin spice coffeee might be the best in Cleveland. I bought some Campfire ground coffee (smores flavor) and the ladies at work loved it. Stop here. Treat yourself. How sweet it is.
