I just ate at the Pita Pit yesterday with my family. Found out that this one was taken over recently by a local group of people and they are turning it around. I had the grilled falafel and it was great. If you are a meatatarian as I am and would like to try something different, try the falafel. All the ingredients are very fresh. I talked with the owner for a bit and asked her what differentiated a Pita Pit from Sub sandwich way competition and she said they have more choices (I agree) and they try hard to keep all the ingredients fresher (I also agree on that). Plus they grill everything that is hot in the pita, then add the cold ingredients. Roll it up and serve it to you. You can eat inside or sit on the concrete deck. Not that special of an outside area with some tables to eat at but at least you have the option on a nice day. I thought the prices were good for what you get. Plus standard fountain drinks and an ice tea fountain with several sweat tea options and flavors. I think they have salads too. So if you are vegetarian you have some options here. Plus they have their take on gyros. My daughter said she liked the way they cooked their cookies here too, nice and soft. People behind the counter seemed friendly and I get the impression that the new owners want to really improve this unit of pita pit and are taking it in the right direction. I will definitely eat here again when in the area it's a forty minute drive for me. They were very helpful explaining the different options since it was a new type of food for my family, if you want to try something a bit different and are burned out on hamburgers and subs this is a good choice. The only reason I would give them a 4.5 instead of a five star is that the facility is a bit tired but that does not reflect the quality of the food, that is definitely a five star from me.

I really, really, really want to give Pita Pit five stars. It's probably the only place in rural NW Ohio to get healthy, let alone vegetarian, food in the dead of night. The grilled falafel is wonderful. I usually pile on the spinach, feta, tzatziki, mushroom, and alfalfa sprouts. Fantastic! However, there's a worker there who REALLY doesn't like her job. It's painfully obvious. It's a poor enough attitude that not even tipping well improves it. I tried it on an earlier occasion, but just bypass the tip jar anymore. Unfortunately, there are no name tags. Otherwise, I'd name names. Every time I walk in I think "ugh, I have to deal with this one again." Any customer should not have to go through that. Yeah, maybe the job isn't all that great, but there is a line between "work sucks" and being somewhat tolerable.

A delivery favorite. I love having the option of ordering healthy food and having it delivered. Almost all their pitas are delicious. There's a few hit and miss. I really live their smoothies; they make them with frozen yogurt. They now have a Coke a Freestyle machine in location. The service is always great! It's a chain, but it's a good chain.
