This place is pure chaos. Imagine walking into a loud, cafeteria-sized dining area with children running amok and names being shouted from the intercom, and you've found yourself at Marion's. Thank goodness the thin crust pizza is worth the madness. We couldn't quite get over the tiny, bite-sized squares, but still some good pizza! For being such a cavernous space, the place is cute in it's own way. And they do have liters of wine available, which I'm sure would soften the impact of the chaotic environment. Definitely great for large groups of people, birthday parties and big families. Otherwise...maybe go for some takeout if you're looking for a more relaxing evening.

Marion's has been a long standing tradition for my family get togethers. I especially grew to appreciate it during the years I didn't live in Ohio and getting a pizza from here on my handful of visits a year was a real treat. I normally prefer deep dish or pan pizza, but when it comes to thin crust, Marion's tops the charts in my book. From plain cheese to deluxe loaded down with toppings, I've never had a bad experience here. Simply put, Marion's is delicious!

I am just baffled at all the hype surrounding Marion's. Maybe it's because I'm not someone who grew up eating this pizza so it doesn't have that nostalgic element to it, because that's the only reason I could think of as to why anyone would love this place. My family and I visited Marion's after hearing everyone rave about it and we were all very disappointed by every aspect of our experience. First of all, the atmosphere inside is pretty dismal and uninviting. The dining area is set up like a school cafeteria/dining hall, complete with loud kids running around. The decor is extremely outdated. I hated the fact that are literally NO WINDOWS anywhere in the joint, just harsh fluorescent lighting- making it feel like a dingy old basement. At least they bothered have "windows" painted on, I guess. More than half of the tables were dirty and still had filthy remnants of previous diners, to the point where it was hard to find somewhere to sit. It was pretty disheartening to watch the workers assemble the pizzas behind the counter. Instead of experienced pizza cooks flinging and twirling fresh balls of dough in the air, you see teenagers pulling stacks of frozen crusts out of a freezer a la Totino's grocery store frozen pizza. Instead of custom sauce made in-house, you see tomato sauce slopped out of a can. Instead of fresh toppings, you see mushrooms and peppers also slopped out of a can! The most hilarious part is that they charge the same price as higher quality pizza restaurants! They had the chance to redeem themselves at least slightly with their customer service, but unfortunately it was just as disheartening as watching the pizza being made. Instead of friendly and welcoming service, it was an apathetic teenager who acted as if we were an inconvenience to her. I almost felt like I should apologize to her for coming in and placing an order- there was no smiles, no "thank you"s, no "how are you"s, no "have a nice day". She acted annoyed and was straight up rude to my dad when he asked for drinks, because apparently you have to go up to a separate counter and pay separately for drinks (what on earth?!). Needless to say, our "pizza from a can" tasted subpar- like something you would buy frozen from a grocery store. I'm a pizza lover and I've always said that any pizza is better than no pizza, but this is one place where no pizza almost seems like a better option if it means having to come in here. As someone originally from Dayton, I find it outrageous, almost sad, that this is what we're known for and proud of?!? You gotta be kidding me, Daytonians! There are plenty of other better local pizza joints who offer a FAR superior product and service. If you're looking for fresh ingredients and quality pizza from a local joint, skip this place and take your money to Dayton Pizza Factory- a true Dayton original that Daytonians can be proud of!

This pizza is pretty amazing! We had the sausage pizza and I could have eaten another entire pizza! I love greasy pizza and have heard so much about this place from my boyfriend that grew up in this area!

Best pizza in Dayton. The crust is thin & crispy, great sauce and quality toppings. Beer selection is decent and soda is plentiful for the kiddos. They take credit cards now!!

Ugh, this was one of the worst pizzas I've ever eaten. Just extremely low quality. The people who like this pizza have incredibly bizarre standards, or they've never actually eaten real pizza. The service was poor, the dining room is run down and kind of gross, and there's literally nothing redeeming about this place. Go elsewhere.

Marion's pizza is super tasty and unique. It's super thin crust is ridiculously crispy and it's chopped into many bite sized pieces which makes it tough to stop eating. Great for large groups and parties, it has the old time 'pizza parlor' feel. I would give it 5 stars if the pizza and atmosphere were the only considerations, but the staff is not friendly and not eager to assist. In fact I have heard this from many others too. Tighten it up Marion's and you'll have 5 stars... if you care.

I'm just not impressed. The pizza is good, but it's not spectacular. They only take cash...what is this stone age times? It just seems backwards there, you have to go to a separate place to order drinks than the one where you order food. Not convenient, and I like convenience. It is a good place to bring a large group of people thought as it is fairly large and they have room to section off. The pizza does have a distinct flavor from most other pizza places...but it is just not one that I am into.

If you aren't from Dayton you most likely won't get this pizza place. This is one of my all time favorite pizza chain ever. I am not a big thin crust pizza fan but this is good. The place is all old school with how it is set up and how it is laid out. You order your food in one line and pay then order your drinks in another. The pizza is tin crust style with toppings edge to edge. They always load it with toppings. They have domestic draft beer on tap and then a great selection bottle beer that can be bought in six packs. With me now down in CIncinnati I don't get this to much but they are opening one up closer down here that i am looking forward to go to.

Marion's is an acquired taste (at least for me) but once you've acquired it, it's definitely crave worthy. I get the pepperoni and mushroom, and my husband gets the pepperoni, sausage and black olive, and both have had ample toppings every time I've ordered. Yes, you have to order your drinks from the bar, but to me that's just one of the quirky things that come along with places like Marion's.

We just moved close this location and got excited to try some of the ma and pa places around here. We started with Marion's and much to our suprise we were not prepared for CASH ONLY...what? Thanks for the ATM charge. So we look past that and get our cash. We order our Pizza and then find out we have to go to another bar to order our Drinks...really? I thought that was a little rediculous for fountain drinks. The only part of the pizza I was a fan of was the crust. We were not impressed with the pizza or the price of the pizza considering the quality. Maybe it's a good place for kids since pizza is pizza to them and there is a Game Room. We did not enjoy the pizza, price or ATM Fee...we have no plans to return.

Terrible pizza. Like cardboard with flavorless toppings. Those cheap Tony's frozen pizzas taste better and those are pretty bad. The only reason to go there was for the video game room, which is now 1/3rd its old size with crappy games. The cash only policy seems a bit shady too.

I had my promotion celebration here and the staff really accommodated us. It's a great place for large parties because there is just so much room. I ordered 10 large pizzas of different variations, and a few pitchers of beer. The whole thing turned out to be a lot cheaper than what I had budgeted for. I also found out that they do not accept tips. Bonus! This probably has something to do with the patrons picking up their own food and drinks at the check-out counter. Pizza: It's okay. Every single piece was eaten, so that's a testament to the quality of the pizza. I prefer New York style pizza, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with Marion's. My favorite by far was the pepperoni, but the olives on the deluxe were remarkably fresh. I would definitely recommend it for hosting a decently sized group of people.

Been gone for 8+ years and this place still has great pizza! And now they even take credit cards!! Thin crust? Yep. Cut in squares? Weird; eh? But get the Super Cheese and you'll be hooked too!! Now off for cheese coneys at Skyline Chili!!

Great service at checkout! Quick, attentive and accurate so nothing but kudos here. As far as the piazza, most delicious! Reminds me of the pizza place we used to go to in San Francisco when I was a kid. Pepperoni and mushroom was spot on and delicious! I'm torn writing this review. Marion's is a tradition for many families and I was a guest and felt right at him with this family. So I feel like I'm pooping on that tradition by not giving this place 5 stars. But as an authentic Yelper, I have to be honest too. First of all, the good news is that Marions is pretty good pizza. It's not the world's best but it's better than most pizza delivery places. I'd give it 2 1/2 stars if I could. The bad news is though that the restaurant feels like time passed it by in 1986. The decor is outdated, they don't accept credit cards and you have to go to two different counters to order. Additionally, their employees act like they are forced to be there and with having to go to two separate counters to order your drink and food, I got to experience that fact twice. And when I asked for a glass of water, I was told that I had to take a little tiny plastic cup because they have to save the larger glasses for soda and beer...whatever. Marions needs a facelift, bad. It needs to learn that going to a pizza parlor is supposed to be fun, not a chore. And accept credit cards too...its not like your pizza is so much cheaper b/c you are saving on processing fees.

Marion's isn't really about the food although the pizza is good. It's about getting together with friends - sometimes lots of them - and reminiscing about your shared history and catching up on what you've been doing since. Marion's is the traditional gathering spot for years of Beavercreek HS classes. In fact classmates would probably gather here on Fridays before reunions whether anyone planned it or not. It's truly a great gathering place for almost any occasion, and Marion's will reserve tables back in an area perfect for groups. The pizza is unique and probably an acquired taste that is as much about the memories it evokes as about the food. I do like the tiny pieces they cut their pizza into - makes me feel indulgent about enjoying several pieces without feeling guilty. Is it the best pizza ever? No, but it is a fabulous place to enjoy time with friends and family.

My coworkers bragged about this place and called it a Dayton institution, after eating here I can only think they should be institutionalized for bragging about this place. The decor: not bad, but looks like it's from the 60s with the weird plastic booths long disappeared from small town restaurants. The food (what matters): the pizza is not good at all. The ingredients do not look like restaurant ingredients, but more like what you would buy from Kroger's to make a homemade pizza. The dough is not special. If you went home and made a homemade pizza while drunk, you would get something tasting like a Marion's pizza; alternatively their pizza tastes like cardboard covered in spaghetti sauce. Neither of my descriptions does it justice, it must be experienced to see how truly horribly they manage to mess up pizza. Now their pizza is much better than supermarket frozen pizza, but about the same as an amateur homemade pizza. Flying Pizza is a good option for pizza, this place is not.

#unpopularopinion I feel like the black sheep here because my entire family, all my friends, and actually everyone raised in Beavercreek is obsessed with this place. I hate it so much, I used to throw the biggest tantrums when I was a kid and the fam decided to order pizza here. I hate thin crust pizza anyway, and that's what they serve here. Everything on the pizza from the bottom up is just of the absolute cheapest quality, including the salty, soggy, canned mushrooms and dry, gray, crumbly "sausage." The salads consist of cheap iceberg lettuce drowned in Italian dressing. I do have to admire Marion's just a little bit though, because the actual shop has not changed at all in at least the last 20 years that I've known it. In fact it probably hasn't changed at all since the 70s, and that kind of amuses me, while astonishing and repelling me at the same time. It is really beyond me how Marion's has been voted "Dayton's Best Pizza."

I was excited to try Marions based on a rave review from a guy at work. The place is much bigger than I expected, most of it being tables (which were clean and well spaced). Order, pay and pick-up at the counter; buy beverage at the bar separately. I'm OK with that. Salad was disappointing -- looked like "bag" salad and served with a really nasty Italian dressing. Maybe other dressings were better, but next time I'll probably pass on the nutritious part of the meal! Once my number was called I had an odd mix of glee and shocked surprise. Pizza served on a square of cardboard = cool. But the pizza had the appearance of a frozen pizza. I was ready for a thin, really thin, crust pie... but the toppings spread all of the way to the edge was unexpected. The sausage looked like rat droppings, but there was lots of them and they tasted good. The mushroom were large and tasty, but scarce. Now that I'm familiar with the appearance and taste... I'll certainly be going back again.

So many good and great pizza places, no need to STOP here! I will keep this short as I have tried to wipe out this experience from my memory. Went here to try the staple of Dayton and realized that I missed something and need to move! The pizza tastes like the Celeste frozen pizza I ate as a kid and still do not like it. I also tried one of their sandwiches, the steak sandwich, and it was worse than the McRib. Ouch, I know... only speak the truth here. So if you are here on travel, recommend the other pizza places, Donatos or Romeos.

If you are a fan of Midwestern style pizza (thin cut into squares), this Dayton-favorite is just right for you. They take the midwestern style up a notch by making a very thin pizza and cut it into even smaller pieces. Sometimes, it's like eating finger food! While it's not my favorite pizza in the world, I enjoy it most of the time, I just typically enjoy Cassano's Pizza more. But it's great to have every once in a while when I go thru Dayton. While the pepperoni pizza is good, their sausage pizza is great as well. The sausage is chopped up into very small pieces and basically coats the pizza. Very unique. This location is always very clean and the food is prepared quickly. Has a game room, but in typical Shaffer fashion the Pinball is broken. I knocked them a peg or two on the review because I personally think the Pizza is a little too expensive for what you are getting and they are CASH ONLY. In today's world, just take the 3% merchant hit instead of having people use your ATM and get charged fees.

Marion's Piazza was the site of a family birthday event which was okay since they have a large reservation area just for such events. Evidently this is a popular place since almost all of the table had cards with the party's name, time and number of people. Our party had a selection of different pizzas, the royal feast with almost everything on it (my favorite) a pizza with sauerkraut and ham, a cheese pizza, a ham and cheese pizza and a peperoni pizza. I had never had sauerkraut on a pizza but it was pleasant surprise although the kraut wasn't the strongest. One member of the party had a salad which they enjoyed. I sampled all the pizzas and although not the best in the world were adequate and filled the bill for a group of 20. Would I go back again, yes. I can't get the rating bar to stay at 3 1/2 so I will give it a four, CASH ONLY!!

Course Description: Introduction to Marion's Pizza 101 - there is really only one topping that you must have on your pizza here - sausage - Marion's is all about the sausage. Marion's is a Dayton-area establishment. While I wouldn't even pretend Marion's was the best pizza in the world - it is unmistakably unique and tasty and 100% Dayton, Ohio. AND they have a pretty awesome selection of bottled beers to choose from to wash down those tasty little sqares of thin crust square pizza slices. Oh yeah, don't forget to bring a pocket full of quarters - unless things have changed since my last visit - Marion's has an pretty rad video arcade you can enjoy while waiting for your pizza.

Marion's is definitely 'uniquely Dayton' pizza - bland and tasteless. Thin, soggy cardboard-tasting crust. Canned sauce, although it isn't too bad. Skimpy toppings. Typical Dayton, the culinary wasteland of the midwest. If you want real pizza in this town, go to Troni's in Kettering and learn how a pizza should taste.

The pizza is really good if you like thin crust and a lot of toppings. However, it is overpriced, the customer service is nothing to speak of, and they only take cash. They put a 20% off coupon in the Reach magazine each month though. And they have beer.

Well, in the past Marion's pizza was the place to go. I used to love going to the one on Shoyer rd. Pizza was good and they are the only pizza place I know that serves sauerkraut on their pizza. Over time their pizza is way over priced and very small. We just recently went to the one in Beavercreek and had the worst service ever. The person behind the bar was rude and i saw him toss a customers change at them. People did complain to the manager, but they took the employee's side, stating "we've been very busy tonight". Don't think I'll go back.
