Go to favorite in Athens, a fantastic addition to the great food scene. Black pepper calamari, larb gai with sticky rice, and pad see u are my favorites. They do spice on a 1-5 scale. Four is pretty hot. Five is not for the gringos. Very friendly folks. Love the new patio option.

I've updated my review after being there several times. If you don't ask for extra veggies it's not as fresh. Everything has MSG in it so if you want to gain weight, it's a great place to frequent. I think most if not all Thai food restaurants have MSG. The servers seem to always be looking elsewhere when you want something.

Tangy beef. That was my lasting feeling upon leaving. Admittedly the portion sizes are very good. However, the food just didn't deliver overall. The garlic pepper calamari were delicious...until you got sick of how sweet (or sometimes salty) some bites could be. Some bites had that perfect sweet, crunchy, and spicy surprise, but only some, and frankly not enough. My friend ordered the Himmapan Chicken with extra spice. It was a little too salty for her and she gave it just a 3 out of 5. I had the Drunken Noodle, which is my go to when I enjoy Thai, and this paled in comparison to previous delights. The flavors were somewhat there but the noodles weren't properly cut and a bit too chewy. The beef was tangy, which was my biggest disappointment. I informed my server and she responded with basically a noncommittal shrug and "never heard that before". That was off putting, especially when my friend tried the beef and agreed that the taste is off. There was no offering for something different or appreciation that I wasn't satisfied with my meal. So I was left with a bad taste in my mouth from the beef and meh customer service. Highly doubt I'll be back.

Love! Best Thai I've had in a long time. I have to be honest and say that I got stuck on their drunken noodles and have not branched out, but when others have gotten different dishes, I've tried a bite or two of those and they've all been good!

I've become a frequent diner at this restaurant and recommend it for its consistently good food, service, and prices. The alcoholic beverage offerings are pretty good, too, especially the sake. The drunken noodles, spicy eggplant, and island chicken are all incredibly tasty choices on the Thai menu. I cannot speak for the Chinese menu. Also, I would not recommend their paad thai. Otherwise, eat here and keep them in business. Our town needed a Thai restaurant!

After living in Texas where basically every restaurant is good, the food here in Athens has been a huge disappointment. Especially since people have said the Asian food here is great... Let me tell you, it's not. This place is far and away the best Asian food in town. The curry pad Thai is amaze balls and the atmosphere is nice, not dingy. Only complaints are parking is a bitch (like four spots) plus street parking, and if they tell you it's going to be a 15-20 min wait for your to-go order, expect a 25-30 min wait. Thumbs up doe

I'm happy to say that Thai Paradise has only improved since it's been open. The service is less shaky and now they have added wine, beer, and sake to their menu. I've dined here three times total. I haven't tried the Chinese entrees, but some of my dining companions have. Just based on presentation, the dishes looked to be well above typical greasy take out. I might try Hunan Chicken (my go to Chinese order) just for comparison. I've tried the following dishes: green curry with chicken and shrimp, mussaman curry with chicken, pad prik khing with pork, chicken satay, and crab rangoon. I was surprised by how fresh the shrimp in the curry tasted; usually I balk at ordering seafood in Appalachia, but their shrimp did not disappoint. Even the crab rangoon had more crab meat than the typical "all cream cheese" offerings from local take out places. I really love the curry here, and it's a bargain at around 10 dollars an entree, considering I always leave with about half of my food to eat the next day. I do think they skimp a bit on the protein, but I love vegetables so that doesn't bother me. I'm really glad that we have this restaurant in town, especially since Fluff isn't serving dinner anymore. And with so many Chinese dishes on the menu, those who might not want to brave the spicier Thai offerings should still be able to find something pleasing. The food is consistent and very affordable. 4.5 stars.

This place has gave us the worst service; when we asking for 2 pair of chopsticks, the short hair Asian waitress gave me and my wife 2 pair of used chopsticks (with oils and noodles on them) from her tray. After we pointed that out and asking for another pair, she didn't even apologize, and at the end she didn't even give us fortune cooke, but give them to everyone else. So, we will never go here again and stay away from this racist place

In addition to eating in, I've had 2 Togo lunches from here. Most recently we ordered 6 entrees and 3 apps. Every order was correct, food hit and delicious and we came in under 60 bucks. LOVE this place.

Great! My first time there. Was very favorably impressed with the wait staff and the cuisine. The wait staff were friendly and efficient. Food was flavorful as well as artfully presented. Our waitress was very helpful and patient while explaining the variables of Thai dishes and beverages. We're looking forward to another visit.

Great little spot in Athens!!! We had carry out and I couldn't believe how packed the place was on a week night!! Will definitely check it out again when I'm in town.

This place has improved 10 fold since opening! The service is good now and the food is delicious! All of the portions are big enough to share, or to take home and have later! So happy to see that they got it together!

Thai Paradise is my go-to restaurant while in Athens, OH. Serving Thai food that can be tailor made (spiciness) to one's palate, I've dined here with work colleagues and friends. Bu, Beth and the rest of the staff are adept at food questions and customer service!! Love! :-)

This was my second trip here and I was pleasantly surprised both times. The sticky rice was amazing and the meats were tender and well spiced. Be sure to try the Thai tea.

First of all, the food was very good but the service was less than mediocre. The service was actually.. bad. Butong, our waitress was not very friendly nor did she give us prompt service even though the restaurant was not very busy. We were there for over 2 hours and that does not make sense for lunch. We had to flag another waitress down to order and refill drinks. We ordered curry and the rice portion was VERY stingy and small. Butong told us that we could not have more rice unless we ate it there which does not make sense after paying $13 for the meal and our leftovers is basically very expensive curry soup. We were charged an automatic 18% gratuity including 3 of our to go orders. I have no problem leaving a good tip... when the service is good. She deserved 10%....if that. I would have rated this place much better if the service did not suck. Hopefully next time we will get a different waitress.

Thai Paradise is a great restaurant. The service and decor were both wonderful. I ate lunch there this past Sunday and I was not disappointed. We had the mini egg rolls as an appetizer and they were great. I really liked the sweet and sour sauce because it was not too syrupy, as many are. A friend and I split two of the entrees: the green curry with tofu and the Ginger Perfect. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The Thai Tea is also very delicious and refreshing! We will definitely be coming back and I look forward to trying more menu items!

Bad experience on OU Mom's Weekend. We were told there would be a 30 minute wait which was no problem. After 80 minutes, and after we saw several people seated ahead of us, that had come in after us, we started asking guests what time they checked in. When we found out that several guests had checked in after us, we asked at the counter and got a rude response. I wish I could say we tried the food, but we didn't have a chance. We were so hungry we went down the street!

So wonderful to finally have a Thai restaurant in Athens! My favorite dishes are Pra Raum Long Song and Ginger Perfect. Very generous portions - one meal is usually enough for leftovers the next night. Be aware that they don't serve wine on Sundays. Just wish they'd bring back the steamed dumplings!

Well, after coming here 3 times I have to update my review. Unfortunately the service at this restaurant is really lacking. A 30 minute wait for a table turned into a 1.5 hours wait (although 2 tables were vacant). The soup size has already shrunk and is very watered down. Hopefully things improve and don't continue downhill!

Tom Kha tasted like cream of mushroom soup. No fresh vegetables to be found. Papaya salad was fishy tasting with no citrus to cut the taste of the fish sauce. Chicken Lab was consistency of and tasted like tuna fish salad on lettuce. So very disappointing and VERY EXPENSIVE almost $40 for 2 people. The owner did ask if we liked our food as she took away barely touched plates. When we said no, she shrugged and walked away. Very nice decor... not so great food.

I have gone to Thai Paradise multiple times. The service has always been at least good, and sometimes is outstanding. The Tom Kah Gai soup is DELICIOUS. The Tom Yum does not taste like any I've ever had and lacks depth of flavor. The Drunken Noodles are delicious. I've had Pad Thai and it is average. The Larb Gai was not very good. I will keep going and keep trying different dishes, because we need Thai in Athens!!! One thing that would be beneficial is label the Gluten-Free dishes. Thanks.

The pad Thai was delicious, the staff seems to be really taking their reviews to heart, we had great service even though most tables were occupied.

The atmosphere is nice with a lovely view of the sunset, and I have loved every dish I have tried. I'm particularly impressed with the preparation of the chicken and beef. To have such good food the first week of opening is quite a feat. :)
