This is your traditional Mom and Pop shop. Not anything fancy but good in a hurry. Family owned as stated on their menu, and just a good place for breakfast. I never expect high class service at places like this, but I do think that I got the service that would be expected from a small place like this. Great for a budget, would probably return.

When I dine here, it is usually for breakfast or brunch and the location's convenience. The food is good and the pricing reasonable. Lunch counter area in need of updating as it has become quite worn. The single greatest obstacle keeping this restaurant from being one of those local gems for which you are willing to drive out of your way is the service. It is inconsistent at best. Too often it is slow and inattentive. Not getting your coffee refilled even once unless you ask is common and don't expect it to happen quickly. I won't come here if I'm in a hurry and would not return if there were a viable alternative nearby.

Had a great corn beef and cabbage dinner for St. Patrick's day. As it was a take out dinner I didn'expect it to be nicely presented but was pleasantly surprised with the care taken in presenting the food attractively.

Mediocre food, okay service, but it took a ridiculous amount of time to get our food. Would not return.

The front of their menu states that the owners opened the restaurant with the intention of having the "finest restaurant in Ashtabula County." They go on to state that their son/chef attended one of the best cooking schools, and that they prepare their food after consulting Cleveland Clinic & the American Heart Association ("consulting" = reading their websites?). The wallpaper, strange red pleather table protectors (protecting fake wood laminate tables), and glassware straight from the 1950's (and not in a good way) could use some updating. The food was so so. Not truly awful but nothing I would go back for. I'm not a great chef but I could make better at home. Our waitress didn't know what club soda was, but she was young so maybe that explains it? Whatever the case, they didn't serve it. Or wine on a Sunday. The other patrons seemed to be both elderly and obese. Everyone was friendly and well-meaning though, which is why it gets 2 stars. Definitely not the "finest restaurant in Ashtabula County," although who knows, maybe it once was (because of lack of competition or better cooking)?
