My grandparents have been here more times than they'd like to admit, probably. I've accompanied them more times than I'd like to admit! It's close and convenient and the food is always fairly good. I almost always get the Firestone Chicken Salad with Hot Bacon Dressing. AMAZING. I don't know that I've had as good of a salad anywhere else. To be fair, that dressing could make anything taste amazing. Despite changes that restaurants make over the years, the size and deliciousness of that salad has stayed the same - it is huge, made with good lettuce (none of that iceberg nonsense), and with all fresh ingredients. The service is really good and friendly. The prices are maybe a little high, but overall reasonable. I miss Hacker's and that amazing salad. Would definitely get one of those if I were ever in the area!

This place does not have good food or service. Drinks weren't full, waitress never smiled, food was very greasy (fish/chips), white queso tasted like they made it in a sandtrap on the golf course: grainy and tasteless. Will NEVER go back to hackers!

This might just be the worst quality of food and drink in Summit County although the service was outstanding. Myself and the person I ate with both got sick after eating here. I ate here a few years ago and thought it was great. I'm not sure what happened but this place should be condemned.

Basic but perfected menu. Decent spot for a larger party (10). Small but usable bar area. Good for a family dinner or post golf drink. Kid friendly. Good local go-to.

This place is exactly what I thought it might be, friendly staff great service and very good fare for a very fair price. This is a great spot the homemade soups are great and the menu should support anyone looking for a nice lunch served in a reasonable amount if time. The steak salad was excellent and I was surprised to find "White French" dressing if you've never experienced it you should it will give you an excuse to try it once and then you'll be hooked. People this is on a golf course it's not 5th avenue or downtown Chicago you can find lots of other places to go in the area and be disappointed this place is safe.

I had to get my windshield replaced at Safelite...so after a quick yelp search, we headed to Hackers for dinner during the wait. The atmosphere misses the mark. It seems like the place is having an identity crisis - they don't know whether they want to be a beer and sandwich place or a country club. The service is a bit lacking. I tried to cut them some slack because it was the week of the PGA, but the restaurant was really only half full and my drink was perpetually empty. My fiance and I both had strip steaks. They were not bad but they just were very under-seasoned. Salt and pepper could change the world - if people would just let it.

Love this place . Great food. Excellent service (ask for Joe). Priced right. And let's not forget the atmosphere........very cool; golf in the summer , fireplace in the winter.

What better time to showcase our Firestone Country Club in Akron Ohio? This week some of the best golfers in the world are here for the annual Bridgestone Invitational, as it is called now. Tiger is here and has won 6 times already, going for an historic number 7! Who can forget his shot in the dark to win several years ago in 2000? Instant classic! We, living in Firestone Park Ohio, always know when this time of year is near. The signs go up everywhere around us for directions and parking. They set up many lots with busing available to make your day easy and special. The blimp with its cameras for great overhead shots is always visible from my home this week. I think Tiger could probably hit a ball to my Firestone Park neighborhood. This week, a restored short film came out that shows Harvey Firestone teeing off for the grand opening of Firestone Country Club on August 10, 1929. If you have read any of my posts on my home, Firestone Park Ohio, you know some of the many things this great man did for our area. Harvey built the park for his employees to enjoy. Since the '60's it has been mostly a country club and some what difficult for the public to play on without invitation. They did open a nine hole public course in 1999 and it is a great place to play and have a great lunch or dinner. Hackers Restaurant opened there with a driving range attached, that stays very busy in the summer. The restaurant is open all year around and because of it's affordable, good food does quite well. I highly recommend Hackers Bar & Grill for it's good food, atmosphere and cozy bar with generous drinks. Enjoy our very own Firestone Country Club on national TV this week and think of me as I will be around. I will toast all of my good ActiveRain friends at Hackers Bar & Grill as Tiger gets number 7! I brought my kids here for a Valentine's dinner while their mommy was in class. It was pretty bad. First off - they charge for refills on pop, so beware - I was caught by surprise with a $6 charge for the first pop with two refills - ouch. It would have been nice to get some kind of advanced warning on that. For our meals, I ordered wings and a bowl of chili while my kids had mini corn dogs, a grilled cheese sandwich and fries. The wait for our food was long - about a half hour. They brought out my chili first, at least 15 minutes ahead of my kids' food - very awkward. The chili looked and tasted like it was prepared days earlier - it was barely viscous. When the wings and kids meals finally arrived, everything was lukewarm. You could tell it had all been sitting in the cooks window for a long time. If someone would have stopped back and asked me how my food was, I would have told them. But they didn't. The sad thing is - I live in a neighborhood right across the street, so it would be great to have a nice little pub and grill close to home ... but I won't be going back. I'm giving it 2 stars instead of one because the atmosphere inside is actually kind of cool, plus I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that it could have been just an off night. On the other hand, if it's Valentines Day, you'd better have your A-game. That night, they did not.

We had Mother's Day dinner here, good food by taste or great food by price! I had the filet it was cooked to order and was a tender cut. I loved it and the price was excellent, I don't know why we don't go here more often.
