Not a bad place - nice atmosphere, decent service, good beer selection . . . but middling food. A little pricey but not bad for Stone Street. Especially nice during the summer, dining and drinking outside. BUT avoid the trivia night Tuesday; it's filled with inaccuracies, which can affect the outcome. The host is a nice guy but lax in his research. Claims Israel is not on the Red Sea - seriously!? I guess Moses did not actually lead his people across the Red Sea - and claims that New Zealand is 1,600 miles from Australia (fail). If you're going to run a trivia competition, at least check your facts!

Great Burgers... I just love when Asked , how do you want your burger ? and it's brought to the table the way I asked I wanted it .. Love this place already

Went here on a busy summer's evening, sat outside in what looked like a bull pen for wall street shirt and tie types. Didn't expect much but expected to pay a lot for it. Pleasantly surprised. Waitresses were nice and chatty despite the rush, food was standard pub grub done well, the likes of which you'd find anywhere in Britain/Ireland (well, minus the pickle). Fries were chunky, burger was tender and well seasoned, bun was crispy and fluffy, cheese was cheddar (the king of cheeses). The bill pretty much matched the quality and quantity of the food. I wouldn't dare go boozing here though. Both drinks prices and crowd don't appeal, but for a mid-week dinner for two it was fine. In a word? Decent.

One of the worst restaurant experiences of my life. It took over an hour to get our food, and when it finally came, 2 out of the 4 entrees were wrong. Drinks were never refilled, until I got up to find the waitress. The 2 wrong entrees never came, despite numerous times that we asked where they were. After waiting another 30-45 min., the chef came over and said he was told not to make the remaining 2 entrees, and then said he could make them if we wanted. At this point we were so disappointed with the service, the wait, and the entrees we did get (the food was cold), we just left. They were nice enough to not charge us anything, but even if they did, I would have walked out.

Came here for lunch during work the first time, had Stuffed Mushrooms (tasty) and French Onion Soup (standard). Good service. Second time, came for Trivia Tuesday. It was a good time, although I wish there were better drink specials.

There are better places to eat/drink on the block.. If just drinking, outside isn't as crowded as the other spots

My group and I read about the 25 cent wing offer on Monday through Wednesday from 9-11pm. Apparently, they didn't. The server told me that they didn't have the "wings". I guess the "25 cent wings" are different than the wings they were serving as an appetizer. We live in the area and there was an advertisement I my building about the special. We'll be communicating with our building that this offer wasn't acknowledged. Never again.

Drinks yes, food no. If you're looking for a place to throw back with some co-workers this place is decent. Prices are comparable to other places in the area. Food is pretty basic at best, think airport restaurant quality. And the service for lunch can be nonexistent. If you're lucky enough to get an attentive waiter, you'll be fine. If not better make it a three martini lunch because you'll be there for a while and likely receive something you didn't order (generally so hungry you just take it at that point).

We stumbled into the Dubliner on a Saturday at dinner time to find wonderful outdoor seating in front of the restaurant. We grabbed one of the last tables for two underneath the string lights wrapped up and down Stone St. The restaurant was very crowded with a mix of people enjoying drinks and dinner. Our waitress never brought us a drink list, but that honestly didn't matter because she had such an impressive knowledge of the drinks and large variety of beers the bar had. We went with two of her Irish beer recommendations and were thrilled we did! To start, I tried the french onion soup which was absolutely delicious. The cheese was ample and the broth was perfectly salty. What a way to start a great meal! I had the grilled salmon with broccoli risotto and my boyfriend went for the traditional bangers and mash. The salmon was a very generous portion and was perfectly cooked while the risotto was absolutely delicious! My boyfriend loved his bangers and mash and couldn't stop saying he wanted to come back and try the other traditional Irish fare. I would rate it 5 stars, but unfortunately, the service was too terrible to give it the full 5. We had to go to the bar to get refills of water and beer because the wait was simply too long. Our waitress appeared to be the only waitress servicing all the outside tables. which explains the long waits and poor service. Regardless of the poor service, the food was wonderful and the atmosphere is both relaxing and fun. We will be back!

Good spot. The owner ronan is a wonderful man who helped us with everything we needed. Cant wait to go back for another feed of guiness!!

I've been in the neighborhood for 3 weeks now, and eaten here a couple of times. I think I had the steak caesar both visits. I like the bar, decent vibe and crowd, seemed a little quieter than some of the other Stone St bars, though your mileage may vary. This and Ulysses (the quiet side) are the only two on this block that I would likely return to.

I came for lunch today and nothing was satisfying apart from the location. Pity because it's a really nice bar! The staff were nice but need to pull it together and recognize new faces sat at their tables. The hostess should communicate better with her co workers. The couple at the table next to me were served after I was and sat down before me, this is already a problem considering I waited 5-10mins to be greeted, god knows how long they did. I ordered the meatloaf sandwich with salad, only because of how it was described on the menu "house prepped sirloin, cheese, chipotle mayo etc..." it may well be that but my dog has had better from a Pedigree can. It looked like it was chewed up and minced together into a patty from mc Donald's breakfast for $15 I'm pretty sure they are covered for the next month of meatloaf supplies if that's the quality all the time. I still tipped the correct amount because the server shouldn't suffer for the kitchens mistakes even tho they were all over the place... The guy should have also asked was everything ok with the food when the table was cleared noticing that half the sandwich was untouched. I nearly forgot about the Irish coffee the only thing that kept my faith

After checking out the menu at several restaurants on Stone Street, which is a super charming pedestrian street with twinkling lights strung up in between the buildings, we chose to eat at the Dubliner. We popped inside to see if a hostess could seat us, but someone said we could just sit down. We grabbed a table along the sidewalk and waited and wait and waited and waited. Finally, I stood up to go inside to see if a server was available and spoke with the one server we had seen outside, who then ended up serving our table. She had walked by several times, and I'm not sure why, but just ignored us. Maybe it was miscommunication with another server or something, but it didn't start out great. After that, service returned to normal and was decent. The food is basically standard pub fare with the addition of some Irish dishes. We each ordered a drink and our food. I went with the portobello mushroom panini. They used a bread that stood up to the juices of the portobello mushroom, so it wasn't soggy at all. It is a nice experience to sit outside and dine on Stone Street, and I would say the Dubliner is pretty average.

My dad and I were walking around the financial district trying to find somewhere to eat and we stumbled upon this place! The atmosphere is incredible; I love the lights strung above our heads (probably a summer-only thing though)! I had the veggie burger and it's a lot of veggie just rolled into a patty shape there wasn't really a burger consistency. It wasn't bad, just not my cup of tea. My dad enjoyed his Shepard's pie. I would recommend this place simply for the atmosphere.

A few of my coworkers come here during the week for lunch/drinks. I decided to join them this past Friday and see what made them keep coming back. The Dubliner is larger than it appears from the outside. The entire restaurant wraps around and ends in a large room in the back that faces William Street. The bar is a good size, as well. The restaurant is dimly-lit but I guess that adds to its pub vibe. When our waitress came around to get our drink order, I asked which beers they had since we were only presented with a food menu. She started rattling off a list of beers and I just went with what I know...Because, again, no drink menu was presented. Do they just not have one? I also noticed they serve wine since my coworkers were drinking that while I enjoyed my beer. The food menu is basic but provides typical pub fare. I went with the turkey burger with a side of sweet potato fries. The fries were addicting and I could not stop eating them. The burger was just okay. The bun was good and toasted well but the patty itself was overcooked and a bit burnt on the bottom. It still hit the spot and I still finished it but I'm not sure I would order it again. One coworker ordered the margherita pizza and said it was just okay, as well. Two other coworkers split the steak sandwich and seemed to really enjoy it. Service here is painfully slow. Our waitress was nice enough but barely checked on us. She also seemed to disappear when we needed the bill. She was smart and wrote down what amount went on which card when we paid, though. Overall, a decent place to grab some simple food during your lunch hour.

I came here for a work sponsored happy hour and networking event. It is on Stone Street, and although most of FiDi is a wasteland after dark, this street is buzzing with activity - especially when it is warm out, as they put communal tables in the street. The Dubliner is a decent Irish pub. It isn't anything too special, but it is pretty spacious, lots of dark wood, very clean and is staffed by some friendly people. It isn't fancy, but it is definitely not divey, either. Our group had all sorts of appetizers and we all had a few drinks. The service was very good and we were well taken care of by the server.
(3)Will C.
Came to the Dubliner for a lunch with one of my mentors, I had the Atlantic Cod with a Smithwicks Blended Batter fish and chips and they were good. The fish part was massive and a bit soggy so it didn't flake like I wanted after a few bites. I had to resort to a fork and knife at one point...barbaric. The chips were wedgy and flimsy in some cases so I deducted a star. It was on the pricier pub side as well at ~$20 lunch. Adding Gastro- to those -Pub prices like I added salt to the fries. This bar is solid, I would definitely stop by here for drinks. For food, I would return once I finish exploring all the options on Stone St. and the near beyond. The BBQ Chicken Cobb Salad caught my eye with Cheddar Cheese, Bacon, Hard Boiled Egg, Chopped Tomatoes and Fresh Avocado...they didn't mention lettuce, that's smart of them, the worst salads have lettuce. The waitress was hard to find once we put in the order, but it was because the indoor area got gradually busier.
(4)Roxanne W.
I like it. But the bartender is very neglect. I've been there a few times, but they are always bad. Take looong period of times without checking on you. Etc I like the beer though
(2)Leanna C.
We came here for brunch and were a little disappointed in the food. I really enjoyed the fact that all of their brunch items were $18 (exception being the crab benedict) and that they all included an alcoholic beverage. We got the bloody mary and it was really tasty, a great bloody mary mix! I ordered the crab benedict and was so incredibly disappointed in the egg itself, it was over cooked to the point that the yolk was completely solid very reminiscent of a hard boiled egg. We also ordered the shepherds pie which was absolutely delicious. I'm truly not a fan of shepherd's pie and I thoroughly enjoyed this one. The inside was very similar to a chilli but it had great flavor and was truly delicious. We were able to sit outside on the street and it was such a lovely day that it made the whole experience that much better.
(3)Dave S.
Stone Street on a Sunday... it was great. It felt like a big brew fest. We chose the Dubliner because my youngest wanted crab cakes. He loved it, although they were a tad small for the price. My other son had the fish and chips which were done well. I had the seafood cobb which had a good amount of crab and shrimp. Service was excellent and the ambience in the cobblestone street was wonderful.
(4)Craig M.
Great pub in lower Manhattan with a large select of beer on tap and a nice variety of traditional and non traditional pub food. This is near my office and when I go for lunch I like to get the BBQ Chicken Cobb Salad for $16. With Cheddar Cheese, Bacon, Hard Boiled Egg, Chopped Tomatoes and Fresh Avocado and a balsamic vinaigrette.
(4)Dean C.
The Fish and Chips are outstanding. The difference between 3 and 4 stars in this case is service. Initially the order was taken promptly and food came out fast. After that I was essentially forgotten. I finally caught the eye of the server to ask for the check and after another 5 minutes I got it. It was several more minutes before she picked up my payment (even though she walked by me several times). Since I was in for lunch and needed to get back to work this extra time mattered. Everyone there was friendly when I engaged them. I won't be back for lunch but dinner would be ok since I don't have to rush the delay would not matter. Fish and Chips cost $18.
(3)Maeve M.
Meh. I came here for a work lunch and although we had made a reservation they seemed a little unprepared for our group. We waited forever to give our order, drinks and meals came at different times and the food itself was nothing exciting. My Caesar tasted straight out of a bag and my French onion soup was pretty average. I know it's fidi/Stone street but there are other options nearby. They do get points for the cool decorations though, it was very festive and Thanksgiving-themed inside.
(2)Jia J.
Ordered the Baked Mac and cheese and crab cake with a whiskey sour (...ok, a couple of whiskey sours). The Baked Mac and cheese was delish!!!! OMG. Let's have a moment of silence for the ooey gooey deliciousness that was the Bacon Mac and cheese. I would go back for that alone. The crab cake was tasty but the Mac and Cheese definitely stole the show. Overall, I'll be back. I could never turn down bacon and cheese.
(4)Morrissey J.
Slow, inattentive service. There's laid back and then there's the Dubliner. Granted, we were there for lunch/brunch on a Saturday, but if they don't want to serve customers, they shouldn't open on a weekend. We've finally ordered after having to ask for sweetener 3 times, then we had to get up and get it ourselves. Wonder if the French toast will come today...BTW, there are very few customers, with only 3 at the bar, so there is no good reason for the lassitude. The French Toast finally came after 1/2 hour, but not as ordered. We had no silverware with which to eat it and mine came covered in powdered sugar, which I specifically told our waitress to exclude. M couldn't eat his because they still didn't bring silverware. Oh, there goes our waitress, off shift and heading out! Oh, good! My food came. Too bad it's burned. Had to send it back. Tasted M's...really good. The young woman who took over was very professional and concerned. True to it's name, there is a real flavor of Dublin, Ireland in the decor, with the exception of the very cool rock music in the background. Next time you're in Stone Street, try a different place. We will.

That's the worse place for brunch that I've been. They don't deserve any stars. Don't go. Waste of money. Bad food. I went there on April 18th 2015. The waitress took about 10 min to ask for the order. I went inside and asked how it worked. She said " I'll be right out" .we ordered. the food took 40 min to come! I ordered a steak sandwich and crab cake side. I got uncooked steak sandwich and crab cake sandwich. I asked if that was right and they said yes (wrong if course and instead of paying 20 dollars it came out as 38) No napkins or silverware on the table. After waiting more 15 min I stood up and grabbed it from the table where they kept it. The food tasted disgusting. I asked to cook more the steak and it didn't help. I swear that thing seemed made of rubber band. I order the check. 1 hour later....I went inside and I asked again. The lady brought it and said sry. I put my card and 23 dolars of my friend's meal. And the waitress never came back. I went inside one more time and asked the lady to take the 23 bucks and out the rest in the card. She took the 23 dollars as tip and charged my card the whole bill. After talking to the manager and wasting my afternoon they said they fixed it. I'm still waiting the reverse charges on my bank account. Horrible service Terrible food
(1)Raquel R.
Took a very long time to get food and unfortunately all was cold. Perhaps drinks would've been better.
(2)Ginette P.
Walking around the area we decided we needed a break & came across this place. It looked decent so decided to try. Since It was a nice day therefore we decide to sit outside. We tried the Leffe beer , not bad it has a bit of an after taste but otherwise it was good nice & cold great for the hot day. it was a good place to sit & enjoy a few drinks.
(3)Lynette B.
This bar in the heart of the Financial District is just like any other bar in the Financial District. Stone Street bars are great during the summer months when you're able to drink outdoors, but when you're going to celebrate a friend's birthday on a cold winter night, you really, really need to love this friend. They picked the Dubliner and it was pretty empty for a Friday night. Again, it was a cold ass night. We had an area reserved for our party and the server checking in on us was great. I can't complain about the service. Drinks were pretty standard price-wise as downtown bars go. Decent place if you catch yourself downtown and looking for a drink at a laid back spot, but if you're looking for a scene, come after work during the summer months.
(3)Julia N.
We sat outside, and ordered sangria (deff try it out) stuffed mushrooms, crab cake and corn beef panini. I really liked stuffed mushrooms baked with blue cheese, I would recommend to try. Panini and crab cake was just ok. Panini is a little bit too dry for me. Crab cake was made with apples which is pretty interesting. Hostess was very attentive, came up to us three time and asked if we were ok ))
(4)Sergey A.
Well it was nice to see actual Irish people working in an Irish-themed bar/pub. Staff were nice and attentive. Unfortunately, the menu on Yelp is out of date, especially price wise. Fish and chips weren't spectacular by any stretch of the imagination and there weren't even that many chips there. The beer selection was good, but again the glass volume was small, bearly half a pint by the looks of it. Overall 3 stars, good staff, alright food, but portion sizes were not consistent with the price, even considering the FiDi location in mind.
(3)John B.
3.5 stars if you will. This is a handy casual option in the Financial District. The food: Fish & chips was decent but not great, the fish was a bit dry if the truth be told. The stuffed mushrooms were very tasty as was the burger and salads. Great craft beer options which was a plus. Service was good, very friendly and prompt. Ambience was sort of collegial, probs because it was a Saturday afternoon. Pretty good spot overall.
(4)S. P.
We came down here to get a bite to eat with a couple of friends. The layout is great, but I give it 3 stars for two reasons. We came here on a holiday weekend and the place was empty. We were the only people there. So I think service could have been a bit better, but it was just plain average. Also, I wasn't so crazy about the food. I wasn't blown away. If you're coming here for drinks, this place is great. Nice atmosphere to chill and hang out. Also nice spacious vibe.
(3)Lindsay L.
This is an awesome chill place to chat with friends. The first time I went there I got really drunk and ate a ton of food. I think I had mac and cheese and cheesecake and something else, but it was all REALLY good. They have a good selection of beers too. Both times I went there weren't many people though. It's a pretty big place with lots of rooms. But the last time I was there it was pretty cute and funny. The holiday lights were still up and the bartender was playing some pretty good music some EDM and some hip hop. The hip hop songs were funny. Overall, everyone is pretty nice there and you can watch tv. Super chill go to place.

Downtown is my favorite part of NYC, so I will admit my review may be a little biased. That said, I was pleasantly surprised when I unexpectedly discovered Stone Street happy hours last year. Stone Street is one of the tiny cobblestone streets in the heart of NY's financial district, and home to several bars and restaurants. In the summer, the street is closed to vehicle traffic and instead is filled with tables and chairs. It is the most relaxing, laid back happy hour you will find in NYC, you won't pay a fortune for drinks and there are a variety of menus to choose from. A friend and I meet here on Thursdays as often as the weather is nice (not raining). It is our summer spot. We are partial to The Dubliner for a few reasons-- reasonable prices, better than decent food, and it is on the end of the street where there is almost a constant breeze. Even on really hot, humid days we are comfortable sitting outside. Over the past 2 summers, we've tried burgers, quesadillas, sandwiches and a few other appetizers. The food is basically good pub food, the fries are steak fries (my favorite) and beer is always ice cold. But it isn't the food that makes Stone St so special, it is the entire atmosphere. Our only complaint: service is really slow. Your first round and food will arrive quickly, but once your food arrives, the waitress will all but disappear - the busboys will be the ones to refill your drinks so be friendly to them while you're waiting for a table. Last week, we tipped the busboy directly since our waitress was nowhere to be found. But we've never left less than happy:D! And really, who rushes happy hour?? If you are in downtown NYC and in the mood for a mellow meal and people watching in an area filled with historic character, definitely check out The Dubliner on Stone Street!
(4)Brian L.
This place is good for a few drinks after work, but the food is only so so. .
(3)Sukhrob B.
I wish I read the reviews before going to this place. I wanted to watch the USA vs Slovenia basketball game and this was the first place I saw where it was playing. I ordered a glass of Blue Moon. That shit cost me $7. It costs $3-4 anywhere else. I didn't try anything else and won't be for the foreseeable future. Take your money elsewhere.
(2)Beatrice P.
The drink of the day was fabulous but the food could have been better. The sweet potato fries must have been reheated as they were overly crispy and the crab cake over cooked as well. On the opposite end The corn beef panini was not sufficiently cooked. While it had marks on the bread the cheese was not melted and the corn beef was cold. However the corn beef was of excellent quality, almost no fat.
(2)Dave H.
During the day, you'll probably be seated quick. During happy hour, your mileage may vary; this classy spot (for a pub, anyway) gets crowded fast with a FiDi crowd. No matter when you're there, you'll get quick enough attention from their staff. Prices are FiDi-appropriate, which means you should pre-game judiciously. Their Dubliner burger ($9) is advertised as "a half pound of prime beef served on a toasted Kaiser roll with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and your choice of cheese" - basically, it does little to distinguish itself from a burger anywhere else. Still, it isn't bad, and does the job if you're hungry.

In this downhill coaster portion of my life am I drifting in the ground away from all of them? Floating away from interpersonal dynamics is therapeutic because bars are somewhat varnished competition . what we bring evolutionarily to the table. In this particular place the passport of the look, have you been seen? Is it returned? Is complicated because we have the camaraderie of work. Lots of work parties in this broad red bar. Unambiguous bro drinking it is a setting a backdrop for the complex social overtures. Our stage if it fits our movie. Men and women face each other at polite right angles more voluble and tongues coming unchained about bosses. Its a big space and therefore a masculine and a group space. Perfect for our makeshift salon of youthful workers. As usual I would prefer to recede rather than be plastered against the wall and be spoken to by Carlton and lose. I can't do that dance. We sit in loosely formed conversation circles. My friend is ebullient fighting off the goal oriented humming of the gentlemen. They ate bees. What victory did I want? Maybe I go home and put in my headgear rather than wait to be scooped up by the look of the understanding . the walls are red the ceilings are cheap and coffered and the angles of the wood tables offer the only intimacy. I preen and wait and look sad and in my childish despair tired. My worth is inextricably tied with my mothers prom moments my beach bonfire moments waiting for the it girl to provide a slice of limelight. My friend says the Midwestern grasshopper could not handle me. At the end of the night the indefatigable and hopeful know that he couldn't handle a child in the woman in this despairing square thing. It is encased in ego my body and it is not worth it. They play reggaeton and I hold my trade in front of my face. I write in front of all my coworkers. Am I trade? Is he trade? Are we desirable? No one counts except the count I know its not my conversation. How can I pick up the pieces from the essential face kick? I am going to be the friend that you pitch like a soft Twinkie. I am going to be the friend who is the equivalent of a real nice guy. Except you can't pitch a man a woman. I let my face get puffy and I run away from undesirable self. Even if that means walking the route to the battery park tunnel. The moon makes te water and small rifts and ripples cinematic and begs the question how important is my lack... The tyranny of the water over human tides. Camaraderie highlights the lack of the animaniacs wolf reaction to me. I will fall asleep and once again the nights high tides will become petty. Chris bell's song is sad sack as I hope something with a motor will take me where my egos demands are distant and laughable. I wave my drunken excitability like a flag will they wring the body out or will I come at them with my hand around their neck and heckle the indifference in their face.
(3)Judd R.
Hard not to love this place. Definitely eat outside in the cobblestone street for the full experience. I've only come for lunch/brunch, but it's always been excellent food--fish and chips might be the best I've had in NY. Some waitstaff is clearly better than others--try to get Bre or Amanda if you can.
(5)Joe L.
The fish and chips are simple and they do it well. It is cooked to perfection with perfect breading. Batter is not too overwhelming and balances the fish well The tarter sauce is so good I dip my fries in it.
(4)Scott D.
Great place!! Best fish and chips I've ever had! Coming back to this place! Busy Saturday night but superb service none the less.
(5)David S.
Food was delicious but the service was atrocious. My girlfriend had a balsamic chicken sandwich and asked to substitute French onion soup for the fries or salad.....the waitress could have at least told us that the soup would be extra or at least said you might as well get the fries anyways. I had the Dubliner Sizzling Gaelic Steak and it was delicious...well worth the money. The wait staff was not very attentive to keeping drinks refilled and when she collected the plates she didn't ask about dessert or check, she went and stood by her point of sale station and danced to the loud music playing for 5 mins then came and asked if we wanted dessert and then went back to her station to chit chat and dance and finally came back to ask if we wanted our check and if we wanted refills on our drinks. Bottom line, food was delicious...service sucked
(3)Mel C.
Second visit to Stone Street and decided to vary the restaurant. Dubliner was as much fun as Ulysses, though I did prefer the table set up at the latter. Beer selection was similar and the food selection was a little greater at the Dubliner. It is the location that makes these places, and Stone Street is just great in the summer! Service at Dubliner was very good and helped make the visit more fun. Be clear, though, the food adds to the fun of drinking beer outside. The food isn't really the main event. I don't see how you couldn't have fun here on a nice night. I had had a great time on a Sunday afternoon.
(3)Dianne R.
one of my go-to happy hr bars after work. decent drink prizes, trivia night and games, amazing potato nachos (a must try!) and big enough to have lots of co-workers collectively drink the day's troubles away
(4)A K.
1. burger is $14, not $12 as advertized outside. 2. $4.59 half-pint at lunchtime? 3. cook did not clean the grill, so my medium rare burger tasted burnt. gross. 4. frozen fries There's a reason Ulysses around the corner is jammed! never again.
(1)Stuart B.
Average pub with all barstool seating inside and picnic table seating outside. Haven't had anything memorable.
(3)D. R.
Stopped by for an afternoon beer and snack. Two of us. I asked for a soda water also. That is, water with bubbles. I was thirsty and did not want to guzzle the Guinness. They charged me $3.75 for the water. I asked why. "It's the price," was all the answer I could get. There are many options along that alley. No reason to patronize the Dubliner
(1)Robyn W.
Stopped by here for a quick lunch mid sight seeing. Had the turkey burger with goat cheese. Thought it was very good! Service was great, and our waitress was friendly and helped us with suggestions for things to do/see around the city.Although my boyfriend reminds me that he asked for a side of honey for his burger and didn't get it. He only asked once, and it wasn't that big of a deal..... Overall great experience!
(4)Burnt D.
I live and work in the area. This is a good place to go for after work drinks. The staff is also super friendly. 5th star is for the amazing "Irish Nachos". They are similar to potato skins topped with cheese and bacon etc and I go here specifically for them.
(5)Brenda D.
One of many restaurants on Stone Street, the Dubliner is where we sat for a while. The Port Burger was good, the service was just ok. It wasn't that crowded (at least outside). We waited quite a while to be waited on and then she only came back a few times to see if we needed anything. The Octoberfest beer (pumpkin something) was delicious!
(3)J. K.
Very good stuffed mushrooms, very bad calamari. Beer trumps it, though-- good beer! Nice interior, too.
(3)Allison P.
Eh, we ended up at the Dubliner after walking out of Ulysses. 10 minutes wait for a waitress and another ten for flat soda. Just don't have the patience!!! Dubliner was quicker with the service, but food still took a while and was just OK when we got it. My chicken pot pie was yummy but the crust was all soggy, just generally underwhelming and not what I was craving (and not worth the calories!!) I was really disappointed because Stone Street is such a fun little area with a great vibe. Obviously better suited for drinks. Won't plan on lunch around here again!
(2)Peter R.
I love that this place is located on Stone Street. Other than that the food and drinks are pretty average for NYC. Summer is pretty amazing in that all of the restaurants have tables outside on the street surrounded by the downtown skyscrapers.
(3)Lauren G.
Came in her for Sunday brunch with a friend around 11:45am. The outdoor seating at Stone Street was pretty empty. I have never been to the Dubliner but pass it many times walking home so we decided to try. We sat at a table off to the side and our waitress was very attentive and quick. I tried the banana nut french toast which comes with bacon, home fries and fruit all on your plate it was so much food! My friend had the egg white omelet which she liked. You also get a free drink with your meal- like most places on the block. Will totally be visiting again for brunch!

The Dubliner is a traditional Irish pub on Stone Street in the financial district. They have tin ceiling tiles and burgundy painted walls so it has a real East Coast feel. It's a nice place to go into on a cold winter day. Their pub fare is traditional and good for what it aims to be, which is nothing too fancy. I could eat their beef and ale pie daily. Their beer selection is also not that impressive (think Guinness and a handful of other beers you see everywhere and not much else) nor do they have a wine list, but asking for such would be too much for this casual pub. The staff and crowd are friendly.
(3)Andrew D.
I came here after a function at DelMonico's which left me hungry. The burger here is well-cooked and I loved the sweet potato fries. Nothing really spectacular but a good option in the area for a quick bite.
(3)Kathleen H.
I've been here a few times - for late evening beers and for lunch. I think it's a pretty good pub, despite all the mixed reviews. I always order a pint of Guinness here (reliable, timely, tasty), and recently I had a delicious steak salad. Sat outside on a sunny day and the service was great, even though it was really busy. The food menu is extensive and probably has something for everyone. I suspect the experience at the Dubliner might vary based on when you go - the weekday lunch & happy hour crowd is very different from the late evening/weekend crowd. Regardless, it's a good place for a pint and a bite to eat with friends.
(4)Tina Y.
I live and work in the area so this happens to be nearby when I want a burger or something. It's nothing special, service can be a hit or a miss since they cater to the financial district lunch crowd and after work drinking crowd. Last time I was there on a weekend around 4-5pm for a super late lunch, there was only one waitress handling the outdoors and possibly some tables inside too. When I was there during a weekday lunch with a party of four, they confused our orders and not to mention starved all of us! I love their sweet potato fries and they make a really awesome Arnold Palmer (lemonade and ice tea). Burgers are decent.
(3)Bryan P.
For a post-work watering hole, not bad. Beers weren't extravagant. The space is pretty large and I was even able to find a seat at the bar. Wouldn't really eat much there again, though. The quesadilla wasn't really all that special. But it did come with a side salad--for some reason.
(2)Lucy C.
I live around the corner from here and I've been here a handful of times with friends or w/ coworkers and every time I go, I go home with 5+ mosquito bites!! We always sit outside, but I'm the only one that ever gets them!! I just don't understand... Anyways... There's not much of a selection for happy hour. I ordered a margarita once, frozen, and didn't taste any alcohol.. it was more blended ice, with a ton of sugar, and lemon juice. I'm a super light weight like (1 beer will get me tipsy) so i was expecting this to make me tipsy... lets just say after I drank the whole drink, all I felt was a sugar high and the need to drink tons of water to off put the sugary-ness. The food here is decent. I ordered onion rings and a sweet potato fries to share w/ some friends.. The onion rings were okay, the could've been a bit crispier, but the sweet potato fries were really good! I would go back to order the sweet potato fries.
(3)Kimberly L.
Came here after happy hour for a quick bite to eat. The service was pretty fast considering it was after 8pm and the after work crowds had thinned out a bit. They ran out of the soup of the day and clam chowder but I was cold and wanted a soup so my last choice was french onion soup. Now, I've ordered french onion soup and been really really disappointed at bars so I was hesitant but the waitress said it was good. So, when it finally came out - it wasn't bad for bar food. I also ordered onion rings. I'm pretty sure that the food wasn't made fresh it was probably just re-heated but it was a cheap meal for $30 including fish and chips. I'd probably just stick to drinks next time though.
(3)Melanie E.
This place is right by my office and has ample amounts of outdoor seating, so every once in a while my coworkers and I will grab lunch here - or at least try to. There must be something wrong with the kitchen because the few times we've tried to eat here it has taken over an hour for the food to come out. Being in the financial district - it's safe to assume your clientele have jobs and lunch breaks are not usually longer than an hour so... you'd think they would do better about being quick? The food is decent when it comes, but it takes eons for that to happen. I might be back, after work - but definitely not for lunch again.
(2)Jörg E.
The Dubliner is an ok bar / Restaurant in the Financial District of Manhattan. Located in the cozy Stone Street, it offers some nice beers with a lot of people during normal work week. It gets much quoeter during the weekend.
(4)Tim E.
The waitress never once stopped walking to talk to us, even got our orders walking by. The food was tasteless. My medium well burger was so pink I thought it might bleed. All while Miley Cyrus blasted too loud to even shout over.
(1)Edward V.
Great irish pub, with excellent service.
(5)Nick R.
Nope. There are better options on Stone Street vis-a-vis food, crowd and music.
(2)Ryan R.
Let's get the good things out of the way first. Stone street is cute and pleasant, and sitting outside for brunch on a nice day is always a pleasure. Good people and dog watching on a Sunday afternoon. The hostess was engaging and sweet. The men's room was clean and kinda neatly designed. I ordered the Dubliner burger, which comes with Irish cheddar and fried parsnips - which I thought sounded really interesting. I still think it sounds really interesting, as I saw nary a fried parsnip on my burger. It was still decent, and cooked how I wanted it. My companion had the corned beef sandwich, and deemed it "OK" - not bad, but no socks being knocked off. The sweet potato fries were cold. Naturally, I ate them anyway - but worth noting for those of you who cherish piping hot fries. My companion's steak fries were also cold. The service was sssslllloooooowwwwwwwwwwww. We waited forever for our check. The server must have realized we were getting antsy, and was apologetic. We didn't understand, as the place seemed amply staffed, and while they certainly had customers, it didn't look like they were in the weeds. With so many other seemingly appealing options along Stone Street - based on this one visit, I'd say the Dubliner needs to step it up, as all the other joints offer the same pleasant seating and people watching...
(2)Rowena Y.
Dining and wining at Stone St is definitely one of my hot spots in the city during the spring/summer days. The Dubliner is the fourth restaurant/bar I've tried among all the other places located on this cute little cobble stone street. The Dubliner is your average Irish bar: dark, rustic, and not-so stellar food. So I came here with a friend and I ordered a baked mac n cheese for dinner. First, I know what I'm getting into for ordering a mac n cheese at an Irish pub. It either can go really well or really not so well. They say they put 2 or 3 different types of cheese in the mac n cheese but all I tasted was cheddar cheese and the cheese looked like it was bit watered down....like Easy-Mac kind of deal. For $15, it was overpriced and not worth getting. You're probably better off ordering a burger or sandwich because that's what other Yelpers seem to have raved about.
(2)Jason H.
Bland, expensive food. Overpriced cocktails and drinks. Somewhat poor service (took a long time to get a caesar salad and drinks on a weekday afternoon). Nothing at all to write home about - go to Stone Street Tavern or even Ulysses instead.
(2)Naeem M.
Slow service (although not rude, which is rare and nice), average and quite overpriced food. Loud south asian bankers at next table. Quit the Gordon Gekko act.
(1)L H.
DO NOT GO HERE. The waitress was drunk and we had to wait 20 minutes to get our ta. When i checked my bill online, they added $80 dollar to my cc!! WTF. Seriously, dont go here
(1)Jeff T.
Jumped in here to watch game 6 of East. Great location and nice decor, seating etc. Lots of TV's and good Guiness but the music is club music, it's totally unsuitable for the small sports watching clientele, it's 8:30 on a Thursday and everyone here is watching the game on silenced screens. There are a ton of bars on Pearl St. and this is the quietest tonight...manager needs to come out of the office and look at his clients occasionally and make a judgement on soundtrack.
(1)Julia K.
The three stars are basically for the outdoor area only. I met up with a big group (it started as 6, got as high as 15ish) around 5:30 Friday night. The setting was great - the outdoor seating was fantastic, especially since the skyscraper surroundings shielded us from the blazing sun. Drinks were, I'm assuming, average price for the location (I never go out in the Financial District) - $7 for a Bud Light (ugh) and $7 for a Blue Moon (eh, but more understandable). Service was slow but nice enough. Though my friends ordered the nachos with bacon on the side (one of the eaters is veg), and they interpreted that as nachos with an extra plate of bacon - NBD, and they didn't charge it for us when they realized that wasn't what we meant, but still funny. Overall an OK place for an after work drink, but it didn't do much to convince me I should go out in the Financial District more often.
(3)Matt T.
A quick business lunch while in the neighborhood. Crab cake sandwich, a turkey club, sweet potato fries, all solid selections. Service was pleasant, nothing blew my socks off. A fine place to eat, but deserving of 4 stars?...I'll save those stars for the special places if you don't mind. 3 is not bad, its juuuuust fiiiiine.
(3)Susie T.
This review is just for the bar. My first drink was meh. I ordered a vodka soda with a splash of cranberry and got a vodka water with a splash of suspicious looking "cranberry juice" that was sitting on the side of the bar in a cup (no joke). However, the bartender was absolutely fantastic. She was super sweet and when I ordered a mimosa, she made it perfectly.
(3)Mike B.
The Chedder & Tomato soup tasted curdled, the Shepherd's Pie was doused in some kind of odd sauce (maybe HP or Worcestershire sauce), and the Turkey Burger was obviously freezer burned, stale and had some odd/unpleasant spice combination. The Wedge Salad was good though.
(1)Matthew R.
Horribly overpriced and not attentive at all. The other night, my friend and I sat there for 10 minutes without a waitress coming over to the table and giving us a menu. Instead, she walked past the table 4 times and didn't even say a word. We got up and left and spent our money up the block where we could get service. Oh yeah, it wasn't even crowded; no excuse.
(1)Louis R.
Nice space. Huge bar area. Hottie, chatty, bartenders hookin me up with one of the best bloody marys, evaaar. I'm all over it.
(4)Denis S.
This is exactly what I think of when people say "after work drinks." It's located in downtown, walking distance from countless banks, etc... It's neither small nor large, not too swanky but not run down either. It has plenty of seating, some OK beers and some bar type food. Exactly what you're looking for when you want to grab a quick drink after work. You're not going to find super fancy drinks, or really good food here. Nor are you going to find a cozy corner to get close to your date. Just keep it professional people!
(4)Kristine R.
So, all I can review here is the service and drinks. Went here on a Thursday evening for an after work drink and let me just premise by saying Stone Street is the spot - everyone in the FiDi was here. HAHA. Well, it seemed like it at least. My colleagues and I were seated right away outside which was perfect since the weather nice. There were four of us and two them ordered a mango long island iced tea which looked more like a mango short island iced tea (haha, corny I know) but really it was small and not strong according to them, Me and another colleague ordered a bucket of heneiken beers 4 for $16. My thing is if I've never been to the bar - order beer it's probably safer then a watered down mixed drink. As for service, we always had to flag down our server, but I guess that's understandable since we weren't really at our table (We were off mingling) and it was crowded outside. This place isn't all bad, but I want to check out the other spots on Stone Street.
(3)Laura L.
Some meals were okay ,awful coffee, stale bread, fair service, automatic 20 percent tip even though waitress forgot one meal
(1)Hector M.
There's no one to blame but myself. What was I thinking ordering a quesadilla at a pub? They served us the equivalent of 2 tortillas glued together by American cheese and sprinkled onions. I pushed the appetizer to the middle of the table to make it a communal dish (so I could eat off of everyone else's plate - veteran move). Luckily they serve alcohol, have a clean bathroom, and the staff is friendly.
(2)Rachel S.
Suitable brunch or lunch spot for a group of four or five. If you decide you don't want to lunch there, just walk three feet and you're at the next neighboring restaurant. I'm a breakfast all-day kind of girl so I had the $15 egg white omelette with swiss cheese, asparagus and tomato with home fries and a mimosa. Decent service-- it was about what I'd expect for a popular eatery in NYC. The server was nice enough, albeit a little absent minded. I wouldn't make the trip to this part of town all the time, but we were headed to Pier 11 anyway to head to Governor's Island so this stop made sense for us. P.S. They close up the outdoor seating in the street at about 10PM, so expect to eat inside if you are planning a late night field trip to Stone Street.

This weekend I decide to go down to Stone St. and having their special brunch. Well nothing special at all, I had the some kind of eggs benedict with salmon and friend of mine he get the Irish breakfast, both was just blaa, I didn't sending back only because I was hungry. After that we had a Dubliner Burger which we shared, it toks 40 minuts, we thought that maybe the burger was much better than eggs we had before. No way. At the end I asked the bill and the lovely waiters brought us the bill with 20% of Gratuity already added to my check. If you go to this place I just wish you Good Luck.
(1)Justin M.
Was here for a wedding party in mid-February. Had a few too many drinks, and ended up leaving my coat and scarf at the bar. My bus home to Philly the next day was scheduled before the bar opened, so I figured my coat was long gone. After contacting the bar to learn they had my coat, they let me send them a UPS label and they shipped my coat back to Philadelphia for me. That's customer service.

After strolling around Wall Street, we find a cute alley called Stone St. There are a bunch of taverns and grills on this street. We chose The Dubliner. Really wish we hadn't. We were playing it safe by getting a good burger and fries. How can you go wrong with that? Well the fries.. they came out VERY undercooked. I've never had fries like that. They were like potato blocks. But the waitress said that's how they're done there. ALL I WANTED WERE SOME FRIES. On to the service... To it's detriment, this place is overstaffed. The hostess at the door was very friendly, which is why we even decided to stay and eat. There were so many ladies working that it seemed nothing got done. They would start gabbing with each other between tables. We waited 20 minutes for our bill to come. NOT COOL.
(1)Natalie C.
The location is great for ME because I work on Wall St. and its located on the quaintest part of the FiDi area. I love the old Stone Street, it really does remind me like I'm back in Ireland. However, the outdoor area gets packed quickly and at all times during the summer time, so thats a bit of a downer. Also, if your not in or around the FiDi area, or are not a business professional, why would you even want to come FiDi to hang out? (No Star) The bar inside is quite spacious, a bit on the dark side with all the dark furniture and wood. Nothing amazing. Of course, again, it's all about the outdoor seating. That to me is the main draw. (+1 Star) The people that go there are 95% business professionals all with business formal attire. So if your looking to go there with something that isn't business attire (of which I do not wear because my office is very casual) you might get a few looks, but actually in a good way! (+1 star) The service was OK, nothing incredibly note worthy. We were a group of 5 on a Thursday at 7:30pm and their staff asked us right away if we'd want a table outside or inside. The waitress took a bit long to come with our drinks but w/e it was pretty busy, I get it. (+1 star) The drinks were on the pricey side, duh, its FiDi. I got my usual rum and coke and it was a small rum and coke for like $10 or something. I can get up to thrice the amount for just $8 at many other places. (no star)
(3)Simon C.
Loved their fish sandwich (fresh fried cod). Summer luncheon outdoor ambiance pushed to a 4star.
(4)Lana G.
Came here for lunch a couple of times with a large group. Would never come here if it was my choice. The service is very slow and the food is not very good.
(2)Astacia A.
I give this place 4 stars because it s not annoying at six o clock on a Friday like the other bars on stone street. The food is decent, bartenders hospitable and attentive and they actually will change the music if asked. After 8p all bets are off but that's typical on a Friday downtown and even then the guys are so ridiculous and they know it so it's funny.
(4)Lucy F.
Came here for lunch with 5 other people. They had a good menu and decent drink selection but that's about all the positive things I can say for this establishment. I ordered the fish sandwich with sweet potato fries. The fish sandwich was soggy and tasteless. The sweet potato fries were more like sweet potato wedges; which I have nothing against if weren't rubbery. I also had a bite of my coworkers smoked salmon with avocado, cream cheese sandwich on toast and against it was just a flavorless sandwich. On top of the horrible food, our waitress was rude. One of my co-workers ordered regular fries and they gave her sweet potato fries. When she told our waitress that she received the wrong order, the waitress actually rolled her eyes before taking away the plate of fries. f you want decent pub food down here in FiDi, I would recommend the Punt on Exchange Place.
(1)Becky H.
Four stars for service! I came here with a large group (9) afterwork during happy hour. Stone street is absolutely packed at this time. We had no reservation, and the staff were able to shake some things around to get us seating together, outside. Compared to some other spots in that area, I was impressed with the service. Even with the rush, the waitresses were friendly and attentive. The food is standard pub grub, good, but nothing to write home about. The prices were standard to for the area.
(4)Evelyn S.
Spacious. Nice venue.
(3)Ken W.
3 stars is about right. Sometimes the food is 4 stars, sometimes it's 2. I used to think the burger was sensational, especially with sweet potato fries. Now I think it's too much of a toss-up unless convenience is the deciding factor. Typical pub food really. But I asked for an Arnold Palmer and they squeezed fresh lemonade to put into it, and its flavor really impressed me. Try to get outdoor seating if you can, but be prepared to see your server on a very occasional basis.
(3)Elizabeth P.
The Dubliner is located on Stone Street, one of my favorite spots to go out downtown, especially in the summer when the cobblestone streets are lined with picnic tables. There's a bunch of bars in one place so it's great if you want to do some hopping. The Dubliner is a solid spot for some beers and bar food. I had the steak sandwich which was delicious, and I also tried a bite of the pot roast sandwich which came with awesome au jus. Great sweet potato fries, too! The interior is pretty dark, but it's a pub so that is to be expected. It didn't seem like we were designated with a specific waitress, but everyone was friendly and attentive. Only downside is there are no drink specials on Sunday nights. Once brunch is over (at 3:30) prices go back to normal. But I'll definitely be back soon anyway.
(4)Jenny L.
Came here after my final test for the semester (waahooo) for a few beers *granted it was only 1145am* The place has a very nice, laid back vibe and the wait staff was very friendly and accomodating. I ordered some lunch (cajun chicken panini with blue cheese) which was pretty yummm but the panini was a tad bit too crispy for me. Anyways, it came with steak fries and my friend got sweet potato fries which were also yummmm. They had a special - $5.00 beers - for lunch, but it was only for 2 different types of beers - Stella and something else.. A good choice for a quick bite :)
(3)Jessica F.
Of the three best pubs on Stone Street, Ulysses has an amazing Sunday brunch and Stone Street Tavern is always packed, but The Dubliner takes the prize as my favorite. Maybe it's because you never know who you'll meet at this little spot in the shadow of Goldman Sachs headquarters. Maybe it's because it's never too empty or too crowded either. Regardless, buckets of coronas + well-made quesadillas = pure happiness in any location and that's what goes down whenever we hit "the Dub" for happy hour. Last week we happened to be there on Tuesday for trivia night. I LOVE trivia and I usually go to the Gael Pub on Tuesdays. But I must say, trivia at the Dubliner is a hidden gem. It's supposed to start at 7 but didn't get going until closer to 7:15. At first the sound was messed up and we wanted to play but we couldn't hear what was going on. Once they got it fixed though, I must say I had a blast. The "tryst" rounds where you meet other people are actually pretty fun and I met some guys who work in my building. Questions were all over the board from sports to science and they even had a fashion question about DVF -- so I was happy. :) We didn't end up winning but they had prizes for the top three teams. I think the same people (TriviaTryst) do other nights in the city so I will have to check them out.
(5)Ryan T.
Great service, great food I would have giving 5 stars but a Irish pub should have Irish music on the stereo.
(4)Kevaughan G.
Excellent atmosphere. Service could be a little more friendly and quicker on the orders. Other than that it's a nice place. Especially in the summer.
(4)Leighann F.
Making our way through the many eateries along Stone Street, we stopped for lunch at The Dubliner simply because their stretch of patio had the most sun and we were hell-bent on soaking up the last of the warmth and rays before patio dining is no longer possible. Note to self: never again make dining decisions based upon the position of anything in the solar system. The Dubliner serves pub grub that lacks the satisfaction most fare of this category delivers. After a pubby meal, you feel full, content, warm on the inside, all brought on by engaging in a little guilty pleasure: eating something simple, fried, greasy or just full of calories. Here, the feeling is mostly disappointed, because the food is just not tasty. Take the sandwiches we ordered: the cajun chicken and the fish sandwich. The cajun chicken sandwich was literally just chicken on pressed bread with a dollop of bleu cheese, while the cod on the fish sandwich was not very crispy, with an overall oily taste. Both came with fries that were more like potatoes cut into large chunks--some pieces were well done, while others were mushy and lukewarm. Also, Coca-Cola loyalists be warned: they serve a cheaper substitute--possibly RC or some generic label and do not let you know this. The service here does not help the experience. The hostess barely grunted at us as she flopped the menus down on the table, and our server, who was absent for the entire meal except when taking our orders and picking up the check, never said hello or thank you, nor did she inquire once about how we were enjoying our meal. When we asked for a second glass of soda water, she brought over a glass that had a half-browned lime dangling on the rim. For $20 each (with tip), I think there are better choices for lunch on Stone Street. Or in the Financial District in general.
(2)Alice M.
Continuing on our restaurant hop, Charlotte and I wandered across the cobble-stoned street to the Dubliner after we finished our dining experience at Waterstone Grill. Compared with the service at the former resto, service here was ... magical~ Charlotte ordered dessert and a beverage (their apple crumb and mojito to be exact), which were both excellent, and I ordered my seconda er second meal... (who can resist when a good friend insists that you order to your heart's content?) Anywho, The Dubliner has a nice chill atmosphere inside, with its copper 'tin' ceilings and antiquey feel~ I'd come back again. - Their wings are hot!
(4)Martha M.
Good beef stew, but I'm not sure if I believe that the beef was braised in Guinness. Very fresh carrots, though. Probably a one time visit for me.
(3)Julie G.
I have been here twice, and the first time my boyfriend and I sat at the bar and had brunch. The bartender was awesome (I wish I remembered her name, but she was a cute Asian girl). She was personable and was quick with getting us drinks. The second time I went there was not so pleasant. I went there with my girlfriend and we ordered food and drinks. The service was BEYOND slow. Granted we were sitting outside, but our waitress didn't even check on us until 30 mins after we ate our foor (we were VERY thirsty) and said "oh, you didn't get your food yet?!" Not realizing that someone already brought us our food. Also, she didn't even bother to bus our table, so we moved all of our empties and plates to an empty table. After 4 hours, I only had about 5 drinks, and I definitely wanted more (ha I sound like a lush, I know). The ridiculous part was that she finally graced us with her presence and explained that the reason she was so slothy was because she was out all night partying, and that she was probably going out again tonight. So we ordered one more round from her and then suddenly received our check from another waitress. Needless to say, we didn't tip her very well (which I never do because I waitressed for 10 years, but I also understand that it is really easy not to be such a useless bag of crap waitress). She sucks. I wish I remembered her name. I'll come here again, but only sit at the bar.

Today they advertised for the half marathon runners to come in and enjoy brunch, so after my small group of 3 was turned away from Stone St Tavern (90 minute wait) it seemed like the perfect solution. We didn't even receive an acknowledgement from any servers until we'd been seated for more than 20 minutes, and I hobbled over to ask the hostess what the hold up was. Nearly two hours after sitting down, we finally were served our mediocre brunch. I can't even express how livid I was, as they were clearing vieing for the post marathon crowd, yet kept us waiting there, FAMISHED, with little more to say than "well there's only two cooks here today" when we asked about the wait and for our water to be refilled. I would HIGHLY advise not coming here unless all you need is a beer. (My friend even ordered a Tom Collins and was served a Vodka Screwdriver). Would also suggest cooking your own brunch after a half marathon!
(1)Sarah Elizabeth L.
Stumbled upon the Dubliner while my Irish friend and I were roaming downtown. Stone street in the summertime is really a sight with lots of tables and chatter out on the street, you feel like you're in another town. But surprisingly, not only does this place offer your Irish food and beer (great for brunch), but the food was actually surprisingly delicious. Nice offering, friendly staff, and a good daytime break. Disclaimer, I have not been here at night.... ;)
(4)Denise J.
after more shopping we wanted to stop for a snack and a beer. we found the dubliner which was crowded! we figured it had to be good. I ordered a beer and a side of french fries to get me through until we stopped for dinner. They were a little over priced, but I am in New York I kinda expect to pay a lot for everything there so It didnt bother me. The fries came out and they were meh...not very crispy and they did not have regular mustard, only a horseradish one which was GROSS!!! The waitress was very nice and kept coming by and checking on us to see if any of us needed anything, which is always a huge plus when we dont have to hunt them down to get another drink.
(3)Mathias Charles U.
Yeah, I'm definitely one of the sloppy locals you'll see in here in-and-around happy hour during the week, boasting a handful of beer. This is a great place to take the guys (or girls) for an afterwork unwinding, if you will, and just let loose. The staff are young, energetic, extremely friendly, and will bend-over-backwards for you if you get to know them and treat them with respect. Also a great place to people watch if you're into that sort of thing/stalking. It feels divey and classy at the same time. It's also really dark inside, so if you're not that good looking, you may just go from a 7 to an 8 upon entering! Food is not that bad either; perfect for drunk snacking / gorging / bingeing / fist-pumping.
(4)Dani M.
Horrendous. We went to this place for brunch. They took an hr to bring our food. Then when they finally brought it they forgot two orders. The food was disgusting at best. Here are a few lowlights... -French toast was regular toast with butter powdered sugar and maple syrup - the side of bacon was almost raw -Eggs benedict the hollandaise sauce was lumpy - An omelet w/ Guacamole came sans guac.... When they finally brought the forgotten entrees (actually only 1 of them) it was RAW. Not to mention the waitress was incredibly rude and unapologetic. It was so bad that the manager finally ended up comping us everything. Then I went home and got sick from the meal.
(1)Nicole F.
Post NYC Marathon Half, the Stone Street Tavern was crazy busy, had a 2 hour wait, (and kinda snotty about it!) My group of 6 people mosied across the street for brunch - for $15 you get a guiness, a bloody mary, wine, or a mimosa, but our server let us have any kind of beer! I was really impressed with the Smoked Salmon Benedict, although I waited an extra 10 minutes more than everyone else for my food. They said that it was on the way, when I wish they would've just fessed up to forgetting my order! They didn't even apologize once during the meal, nor offer a discount or gift card to use at a future visit for my meal. Shameful.

The Dubliner was one of the few places I had yet to try on Stone Street. Walking in, it seemed to be pretty large and nice. There was a nice-sized bar up front which probably makes for a good happy hour. I ordered a beer (selection is not great) and a turkey burger. The avocado I got with the turkey burger was an unripe 1/4 of an avocado just dumped on my plate, instead of on the burger. I attempted to cut it into slices to put on the burger and it flew from under my knife onto my lap. If you see the guy with khaki and 5 nice light green avocado stains that match his purposely-green shirt --- that would be me. The turkey burger was definitely large but it was overcooked and the bread was not great either. I had a caesar salad on the side which was pretty tastless as well. I asked if their Dubliner Ale was brewed on-sight and they looked at me as if I was crazy (cannot confirm if their stare was well-founded, but I'll get back to you). Service was OK, but they were a little aloof. Our bill was a little messed up on what credit cards were charged what, but it was straightened out. I might go back for happy hour --- but def not eating there again.

The service, food and drink here are all substandard, even for a generic Irish Bar. There are better options on Stone Street. Go to one of those instead.

It's a great after work happy hour place. They do have outdoor seating, but it can get crowded during the workday with all the wall street folks. After work there's a good enough crowd but not too much to take over the place. Their drinks are reasonably priced for the fidi area. I haven't really tried their food, nothing on the menu really looked delicious for me to grab a bite to eat. It's a good place for drinks for large groups.

Came in for an after work drink. It was peaceful and fun. There were some great lady bartenders and varied music on the sound system. Got to read the paper and just unwind. I can't speak at all about the kitchen or food, which is what other people seem to dislike about the place.

...It's down over there on the NW corner of Ole Stone St. Head-in and man-up for 32oz. of Hofbräuhaus München in it's traditional big-boy stein. ($15)

It's a bar, drinks were fine..

I decided to meet a dear friend for lunch. The one star is just for the seating outside. I ordered the Dubliner steak medium rare with caesar salad instead of mashed potatoes. The steak was dry and bland. I had to drown it steak sauce. The caesar salad was limp and drenched in dressing. Will not be going back.

Like the rest of Stone Street's Irish pubs The Dubliner is about drinking not eating. Bartenders are nice. Patrons are a mix of pie-eyed tourists (saw one of them puke outside the entrance once) and douchey Wall Streeters. Music they play is good, though. Forget about eats besides basics.

One of my favorite places to go to for a beer after work on stone street, sit either inside or out. I'm usually in, pretty packed all weeknights for after workers

I would have given this restaurant one star, but it gets the extra star for being on one of the first paved streets of NYC. I've been here twice since I work in the area. The first time I went was after work for drinks and I had a decent experience - typical Irish bar, pub food, etc. However, the second time I went was during lunch with my college roommate and her 5 year old daughter. My friend's daughter only eats noodles. The Dubliner had several pasta type dishes on their menu but, for some reason the waitress had a really difficult time understanding that we wanted only plain pasta with a side of marinara sauce. I can't explain to you how long it took to make her understand. "We'd like just plain noodles please," "Oh, do you want fettuccine?" "No, just plain noodles" "Oh, we don't have that on the menu, we only have fettuccine". What the...? We explained to her to please heat the noodles and not put sauce on it. After asking the chef, she reported that this was in fact possible. But, when we got the dish, it was macaroni with cheese on it. Moreover, for a lunch, the waitress took roughly 50 minutes to bring out our two salads and the mac n cheese.

Rubbish. Upon my visit, I've decided to write a book about things I hate. I worry when I'm about to eat at a place that has: * Faux-classic pub furniture & decor. It almost rivals the faux eclectic pieces that line the walls of a Pizzeria uno * Those $20 light-bulbs that only brighten the filament. * Good looking waitresses. When an establishments spends this much effort and $$, I KNOW my food is going to suck. There's only so few times that the stars align perfectly to form the perfect meal. Today I ordered a Steak & Ale Pie. What I got was chop beef & pea goulash with an Au Bon Pain-grade 1/2 croissant on top. What part of the word "steak" did they not get? What part of the word "pie" did they not get?

Great lunch spot too, unique surroundings, steak salad yum and good service.

love their beer selection along with the goat cheese appetizer. Great location, chill atmosphere. a bit pricey though.

Been here several times because it's close and the atmosphere is good. The food is mostly mediocre and the service is often slow. Sometimes very slow. A couple times I was about to walk when a waitress finally came, oblivious and completely unconcerned about the wait. Lady, I can spend 15 bucks on a burger at many other places in manhattan and get much better service and food. The atmosphere won't be enough to carry this place for the long run.

This is a typical Irish Pub. The food was ok. It's crowed during lunch time. I ordered a smoked salmon sandwich. It was fresh and taste good. The price was right considering near Wall St.

Good bar on Stone St. The food was alright and drinks were average price. But nothing beats sitting outside at a small wooden table on the cobble stone sharing a few beers with some colleagues. All this would have made for a 3 Star review however, I met the owner of the bar. He is a really friendly guy straight from the Emerald Island. He loves making small talk and meeting visitors. I stopped by with some coworkers and he bought a couple of rounds on the house and even joined us with a shot of whiskey.

It was very hard trying to decide where to eat as there were many choices but I decided to settle on this place only because I was tired of looking around plus it was right next to my hotel. Waitress/host was very friendly and was seated outside. Most people of the crowd were seated outside. Besides, the weather was really nice that night, cool and breezy, so sitting outside was ideal. It was pretty busy and crowded for a Monday night. Then again, this is NYC, the city that never sleeps. The choices on the menu were very much to my taste. I decided to order the flat iron steak sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. Even though I should have ordered beer because after all this is an Irish pub but I didn't and I regretted it. Service was fast and the food was excellent. At the end, my waitress brought me the wrong check so I had to wait another 10 minutes until I got the right one, pay, and leave.

I know it's the Financial District so the nights are dead around there, but there is very little atmosphere. Also the food is way overpriced. 20 dollars for a sandwich and a drink?

Excellent food. Service was mediocre at best. Lunchtime specials include $5 house ale draft, which is really good - both in taste and price. The veggie burger is worth trying even if you're a carnivore. Great for a Friday lunch with either friends that work nearby or fun coworkers.

this is really more of a review for stone st in general. the dubliner is just where i happened to sit down for beer. as with any pub, beer is beer so can't really go into too much detail here. service was so-so and they were out of the duvel. hrmmm.. stone st however is so so quaint. the cobblestone streets and closed alley are tres euro as are the colonial buildings surrounding (india house, demonico's, etc.). a little slice of new amsterdam.

Went here for the first time tonight. The previous reviewer must have gotten them on a bad day, because we had a great experience. The hostess & servers were friendly and attentive, and the food was awesome. I had the pot roast sandwich; it came on a ciabatta roll with steak fries - the big hearty kind my parents used to make at home. The pot roast was so tender, and the sandwich had enough gravy to not need any other condiments...but not so much that it made a mess. My boyfriend had the beef stew, and he loved it. The beef was very tender and the mashed potatoes were perfect. Nice atmosphere, beautiful dark wood and comfy seats. Overall I have no complaints and we definitely plan on going back.

I had a veggie burger here, and it was pretty good. There's not much else I have to say about it. It was $10 before tax and tip, and the waitress was friendly.

When cruising Stone Street and not sure where to stop, you could always stop by the Dubliner. This isn't a typical brunch spot, but it is a good place to grab a Shepard's Pie and a cider. They also have a decent Caesar Salad and Fish and Chips. Stay away from the Leek Soup, but feel free to play and enjoy a pint (even if it is brunch :)

I went to the Dubliner today for lunch with a co-worker. We were seated right away outside as it was not that busy despite the time (12:20). The hostess/manager took our order for drinks right away... here is where the service stopped. A very friendly yet not good waitress told us several times she would take our order in a minute but continued to drop off drinks at other tables. After 30 minutes she took our order and came back after another 15 to let us know one of the items we ordered was not available. At this point we are running late for work and ask her what will be fast. A salad is the answer. However, we have now been here an hour and no food is insight despite the table next to arriving after and now finishing up their lunch. We tell them to please cancel the order that we need to go instead they insist it is ready right now only to leave us waiting as we tell them we now need to it go. Still they ring our bill through quickly holding us hostage to wait for the food. Not only did we not get an apology and were still charged full price one of the waitresses had the nerve to say "well you did come during our lunch time rush"... and yet the tables around us got their food. I returned to the office hoping to enjoy my lunch, but the burger was not the one I ordered (missing toppings) and the mixed green salad with it included wilted and brown lettuce. I tried calling to let them know that we appreciate how friendly they are but the service needs help only to be told the manager has run out (at 1:30). I have had better meals here (hence the two stars - otherwise would be 1), but was really disappointed in the service today.

Stone St. is an oasis, but I would not recommend this place. I went thter yesterday and the hostess was rude and the drafts were .25L. Really?
