This place is on a main drag in Jamaica Queens, tough to find parking, but do your best. They have a nice menu with Boars Head meats. The place is very tight, they are NY friendly (which, is up front and just like to know what you want), and the food is extremely reasonable for NYC. Try something from the grill, you will be pleased.

My review for this place is ridiculously overdue. This has been my go-to spot since I stumbled in back in 1999. The hero sandwiches are cheap ($5 - $7), generous portions of meat, fresher than any fast food joints, and open 24/7. This place also makes chopped cheese sandwiches, which for some reason is almost impossible to find. Major cool points from me! Even though they have a sandwich menu, they have more options outside of their menu. If you're drunk, hungry, and on a budget, this is your spot. Another added perk about this deli? It's hipster free!

Good sandwiches every time...cheap prices...whenever i pass the 188 street exit on grand central pkwy i think of this place. The neighborhood isn't the safest place especially late night but worth the trip out. Been hitting this place up for sandwiches for a long time now and there still selling them just as good!

By far the best sandwiches you can get in queens. Chicken Philly is the most popular. I love the chicken cutlet and grilled chicken. So tasty and it just hits the spot.

Meh...don't know why it's got all 5 star reviews. Ordered a Philly Cheesesteak with jalapeños and just got a regular one. Waited 10-15 minutes for a rather large sandwich that had more lettuce than beef. The sandwich itself was average at best, but what annoyed me was 3 or 4 people who ordered after me, got their sandwiches first and they all needed to go on the griddle as well. When I confronted the (who I assume to be) owner, he came up with some bs that I ordered something with beef in it and that's why it takes longer. Suffice to say, I probably won't be going back.

Chicken Philly with Jalapeños everythjng no tomatoes...thats my order. Always call ahead. They take pride in cooking and I take pride in eating. Their chicken cutlet is also banging. Reuben is yum and they can custom make anything. For example...I get jalapenos and a fried egg on top of everything. Love the night crew. Fav sandwich spot. Also very well priced. If you're ever in the area. Give em a try

The locals refer to this place as, "The Spot" or "179 Deli." This deli is a regular deli, but with amazing sandwiches for an even more amazing price. You'll spend aobut $5-$7 on any given sandwich. Some of my favorite nights ended with a hero from here. Please believe the hype. The only thing Cherry Valley and Christina's has on this place is that they put gravy on their sandwiches, but that isn't that big a difference to me. Some of my go-to sandwiches are the Chicken Philly which is basically a Philly cheesesteak, but with chicken instead of steak. You can also get an old fashioned cheesesteak and hey if you're feeling up for it, get it with eggs. The Woodchopper is probably the most popular with pastrami, corned beef on a hero. My favorite is the Cuban, which has salty ham, cheese, pickles (I love pickles so I ask for extra), and then is put in a press to make the bread flat and crunchy. It's a religious experience trying any of their sandwiches for the first time. Don't expect to eat there since there isn't any indoor seating. If you're a girl and going late at night I would have some protection with you as the Spot attracts some of the creepiest people in Jamaica. It doesn't bother me, but I would imagine I would be uncomfortable if I was a female. If I were to judge the place on food alone I would give it a 5, but I'm really picky at who I throws 5's to so I'm giving this deli a 4/5 overall. It might come off as strange, but the appearance from the outside is a major turnoff for me. They basically have their whole menu covering the exterior. With such a high demand for their sandwiches, you would think they would have less emphasis on other stuff in there. I think they should get rid of most of the grocery stuff in there and focus more on their deli menu and have a more open space for waiting. However, at the end of the day, I just want my Cuban sandwich with extra pickles please. Pro tip: Call and make your order ahead to save you some time. You won't be able to understand a word the dude says though.

If your hungry and in need of good food for a cheap price this is the Spot! I have been going to this deli for more than I can remember. Mostly favored by the locals, MTA, police, and of course the hungry peeps after 4am when all the bars close. Open 24/7 makes it even better, I have woken up in the middle of the night hungry and just walk there and get a hero. Philly, Chicken Philly, & the Cuban are my favorite.

If you are coming home from a long night of drinking at a bar or club, you must come here for a sandwich. The Chicken Philly and Cuban are top of the line. However, I suggest asking for the Poncho Special with everything on it. It is spicy, however, this is the perfect meal to put an ending to a great night.

Chicken Philly is so good here. Need a snack or hungry and no where is open, guaranteed this place is open and will definitely make you a sandwich you will love. I have ordered here since I was young and they haven't messed up my sandwich yet. The only thing is that it is always busy but if you call ahead it can save you a lot of time.

Can't go wrong with the place! The Cubans, Phillies and everything in between ... I don't think I've had anything bad from here. Great late-night spot they're just always busy If you can call ahead, it'll save you a lot of time!

Commonly known by the locals as "The Spot", this particular deli is well-known in the area for it's deli sandwiches. The sandwiches here are extremely delicious in terms of flavor and the sandwiches are wrapped neatly. For the prices of the sandwiches here, this is as good as it gets. There are no frills, or misconceptions. You get what you order and you will enjoy it almost every time. The Philly Cheese Steak with Egg and the Ruben Sandwich prepared here are amongst the best I have ever tasted. Open all day and all night long, this is THE SPOT where you can satisfy all of your cravings night and day.

This. This is no ordinary deli. It's the greatest little gem that I ever came across. Great for drunken nights, study nights, every night. Maybe day time too. Philly cheese steak. Chicken parm. This surpasses Cherry Valley. Oh yes that's right. I said it. They take just as long to make the sandwiches. But the difference is, you can get a whole hero for 4 bucks. No, you don't get onion rings inside your sandwich. But at least here you will take less risks with your health.
