The food is good and big portions. I live close by and for some reason there isn't anything that stands out to make me be a usual there but it's not bad at all. it's clean and the wait staff is friendly and Attentive. I hear they have a fun bar area with specials

Horrible experience! My husband and I wanted a nice quiet night out, we live nearby. So we sat thru karaoke..o.k. If u like that. Food is mediocre at best. We ordered a bar pizza and a grilled salmon. Salmon tasted like ammonia. Do not go!

Amici now has a Tuesday night mix and match pasta night. Can't be beat!!! You create your own dish. The selection of sauces, pastas and toppings make it a real food experience not to be missed. Freshly cooked right in front of you! I love this option! You have got to try it....

This is one of my favorite places to eat. They bring warm bread to the table and infused oil to dip it in. I love the shrimp scampi. It is the best I have had. Last time I went, I was shocked with the taste of it. It was not good like it usually was. I hope it was a one time thing. I won't take away any stars till I go back. I am hoping this place isn't going down hill. The decor is nice and romantic feeling. The lighting is dim and music soft. The wait staff is always knowledgeable of the food and ingredients. It is a great place for a dinner date. I mainly stick to the scampi and except that one time being bad, everything I have tried is very good.

Large portions of standard northern Italian fare. The food is over priced and over salted in my opinion. Service is spotty-sometimes good, sometimes so so. For LI italian, you could do better but its not the worst place around if you are nearby.

Went back...they OVERCHARGED US on two of the dishes...the place was dead...we were the only patrons at the time...i brought it to the attention of the waitress and she corrected the bill...this was not an honest mistake...it was intentional...so always check your bill and make sure the prices coincide with the prices on the menu. The service was excellent. One of us had the shrimp parm...and their was barely any shrimp...lousy portion on that one. Otherwise food was good.

We made a return visit to Amici's last night and had a GREAT meal! They have a Tuesday Pasta Night which is all you can eat and you get to create your own meal from a choice of 5 sauces and 12 toppings! The dinner comes with a salad and delicious WARM bread! Also includes a nice choice of desserts. The staff was warm and friendly and the chefs at the cooking station made the whole experience a lot of fun! I definitely recommend it to everyone.

I have been coming here for so many years and the one word that always comes to mind is consistency. This place is by far the best Italian in the area. The Cesar Salad is a favorite along with the Medallions of Chicken. Service is always above par in the dining room and the bartenders are very attentive when sitting in the lounge area. Prices are very very reasonable and there's always plenty of food to take home if you cannot finish. Definitely a must try.

Everything was ok here. This is more of a bring the family for an Italian dinner vs. fine Italian dining. The ambiance is pretty quiet and the Friday night we came they had no problem seating us as soon as we got here. None of the specials jumped out at me. My gf got the chicken parm and liked it. Nothing over the moon but not bad. I got pesto pasta with shrimp. The pesto was delicious but was irritated that I only got 3 shrimp!!! Commenting on previous comments, the bread they brought to the table was terrible. It was cold and overall quality of it was bad. The good thing is we actually left room for the entree instead of eating 5 baskets of gooey warm bread. Not bad but not the best. It satisfied my craving for Italian food.

I came here for dinner last night with my husband. We both selected to do a 3 course pre fix meal. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms as my appetizer and my husband had the baked clams. The appetizers were ehhh ok but nothing to rave about. I had the linguini with white clam sauce as my main course and it was flavorful and my husbands chicken scaloppine was pretty good. The portions were pretty large and we had plenty of leftovers to take home. I looked up the menu ahead of time before we went to the restaurant and I have to admit that when I noticed the dessert menu listed tartufo, which is my ultimate favorite dessert, I was persuaded to dine here. When it came time to order dessert I asked our waiter if I could have the tartufo and added that I was excited that the restaurant had it and it's my favorite! He mentioned every dessert option on the menu from tiramisu, brownies, gelato, etc but said I could not have the tartufo because that dessert isn't included. I was a bit puzzled but ordered the chocolate gelato and my husband had the brownie with vanilla gelato and we shared both. They were pretty good but I still didn't get my tartufo fix. :,(

Very good, authentic Italian food. Cute decor, if somewhat outdated, and good service. A little expensive, but not much more than any other Italian restaurant on Long Island.

I went here with my girlfriends family the other night I'm always skeptical on Italian restaurants bc they are dime a dozen but this place had a red sauce that tasted like my grandmas there specialty pasta dishes had a nice portion for the price and the service was friendly and prompt will deff return to this location!!!

Going out to lunch and we decided to go here instead of Carnival. It was new to the whole group ( 4). Three house salads all got positive reviews. My Caesar salad flopped. Chopped lettuce stumps, maybe romaine maybe not, no leaves. Too much Parmigiana in a strange watery base. In a blind taste test not sure this would have been identified as a Caesar salad. The croutons were fresh though. As for the main course. One Pene ala vodka, no complaints. One chicken parm with spaghetti. Chicken was "fine" but the sauce seemed like a store bought low end jar. Two lasagnas, large size for a lunch plate. Overall not a bad entree. The sauce suffers from the same low end flavor that afflicts the spaghetti. We finished the meal with sorbet and ice cream. Nice finish to an OK meal. For $13 a plate, I guess you can't complain too much. But I'd pay $13.50 to get a seasoned sauce.

We started with salads. Nothing remarkable, but hey, it's a salad. I ordered the chicken medallions and it was amazing. Finished the entire, large portion. My husband ordered the calamari pomodoro. He couldn't say enough good things about it. Desert was the apple crisp. I didn't save much room, but managed to eat a fork full. It was delicious. I'm really so surprised by all the negative reviews. I have always had great food from here.

This restaurant has been here for years and is the BEST italian food you can get. There is a reason why it still is open after 10+ years....classic italian food, friendly service, and has a great cozy feel to it! Great for first dates.
Had dinner at Amici tonight with a group of about 14 people. I had been here once before for a friend's daughter's wedding shower. I thought then that the feeling of the place was heavy, like left over decor from the '80s. Large wood beams kind of like a barn. I had the $24.95 three course dinner. For my first course, I chose a tossed garden salad with the house Italian dressing. It was a joke. It was so puny, you would think lettuce was scarce! There was not a green piece of lettuce in this "salad". All of it was the white tough stuff. There were pieces of the white part of the celery rib in it. Two thin slices of cucumber, two grape tomatoes, two pepperoncini and some red pepper out of a jar to top it. There was so little dressing, I hardly could taste it on the maybe 15 one square inch pieces of white lettuce I had. For my entree I had the Lemon Tuscan Chicken. I kid you not when I tell you the chicken was 1/8 of an inch thick and dry and tough. The pasta sauce was tasty, but the sauce and pasta together was stuck together. I had the chocolate mousse for dessert. It came in a small, probably 4 or 5 ounce glass, maybe three tablespoons of mousse and about the same amount of whipped cream on top. The mousse was good, but like the movie of the same name, "Gone in Sixty Seconds". My husband had fried mozzarella sticks, a much better choice than my salad. He had the Chicken Francese, which he said was ok, but not great. At least it was much thicker than my chicken. He had the chocolate gelato for dessert, which was the ame size as my mousse, but came with a biscuit. The bread basket contained cold, rock hard bread. The coffee cost $4.25, and it was AWFUL!! Everything was very overpriced. The service was good, but not exceptional. Also, when we got home and I checked over the bill I found that the tip (mandatory because of the number of people) had been calculated including the tax which on a $1000 check added an additional $16.

i came here from a recommendation from her. Right from the bat, I was confused with the decor. Walking in, it seemed that I should be upstate or in the mid west, wood flooring, huge benches. It didn't feel like an Italian restaurant that's at least $15 a plate. The food was good, especially the salad house dressing, and I will definitely come back and try amici's again. I opted for the pesto grilled chicken and she got her own specialty dish (asked the chef to make it one day and now its on the menu!!) Knowing that they even did that, made this place very personable. They also had huge tables where it was hard to talk to the person across from you and the tables made you feel cramped even though the restaurant wasn't crowded at all. I like the oil idea for the bread, but having shakers that have holes too small for the flakes to come out, seemed kinda pointless

Very delicious place for a Sunday lunch to meet with your boyfriend's parents. Everything was very delicious and it seemed like everyone enjoyed their meal. The only downside was as soon as the busboy cleared our plates, our server brought the bill and walked away. The resturant was pretty empty so its not as if they needed to turn our table. My bf's mom was the one who actually brought it up that we never got offered coffee or dessert and my bf's parents are after meal coffee people. So we just sat at the table for another 30 minutes talking anyway.

1st time at this establishment, we are full blooded italians looking for a good italian meal. Decor was rather strange and didn't seem like an italian place. It seemed as if we were eating in a barn upstate. The food was ok. Appetizers were portioned very small, but tasty. The dinner was fresh and cooked well, but a bit pricey for such a place. I am sorry to say, but I won't go back nothing impressed me for the 250.00 we spent for a table of 4 I could be eating at Lombardis on the Bay!!

My fiancé and I went to this place one night for our anniversary. We were recommended by our friends about this place, they go here all the time. The place is very nice inside and out The staff pleasant and professional. We were seated right away and never rushed to order or leave. The food was wonderful and the price was even better. I definitely recommend this place myself. Thanks for the great night out.
