Il Bacio is a very High-end Pizzeria/ Restaurant.Don't get me wrong...because I like Il Bacio. Although they have awesome pizza, their entrees are just as good. Although il Bacio is not a white-table cloth restaurant, food is tasty indeed. Il Bacio has their own gelatos and their flavors are unique. Overall, good was great!!

I love the food but loved it more in the past than i do now. The shaved parm on the caesars used to be the crystally kind but now i think it comes out of a bag. Penne vodka is great as always. Sliced pizza was kind of old and the cashier went right from a handful of cash to tossing my slice into the oven. For 4.50 I expect a little more care to be taken with those dirty hands. Not too serious but come on.

Atmosphere: This place has the feeling of a local establishment that has been catering to townies over the years. It's located in downtown Bronxville amongst all the shopping and restaurants in town. I came here for lunch on a Sunday so it was on the quieter side, but overall it seems like it's a more of a laid back family atmosphere. Food: To start, the bread they bring out before the meal is definitely on the healthier side. This makes the taste suffer a bit, but its good if you're trying to be healthy. I started out with an order of bruschetta. It was good but I found the tomatoes on the bread to be a little big and plentiful. It kind of took away from the dish a bit, but was still fairly good in taste. I then had the Pappardelle primavera, which is a pasta dish that comes with a mix of vegetables. It was actually really good. The variety of vegetables in the dish was good and the overall preparation of the dish was good as well. Summary: With so many great restaurants in Bronxville, I think this one gets caught in the middle of other strong performers. It's good, but not great when compared to other restaurants in the area. I can see this being a great place to hold a large dinner party or come on a weekend to enjoy a meal. Otherwise, I'd probably venture to other places in the area. This isn't to take away from the food, which was good. It just isn't anything that stands out.

The food is SOOOOOOO good, so good. The service, the restaurant itself... eh. I don't appreciate flies buzzing around me as I'm eating, no matter how amazing the veal piccatta is. Also, the wine is awful. I mean, I tried three different whites and opted to drink no wine at all, awful. Come on guys, you could do better. Fire the manager and the sommelier, and give the chef a raise!

I'll start with the good , the best soups ever ! The bad is the pizza it use to be good but when they went to serve me the pizza was soaked in grease so much the table was soaked as well and I love pizza but you people definitely failed on it I use to love going here and I still will just for the soup nothing else more tho!
(2)Carolyne D.
Good gelato, but the food is very underwhelming. The pasta was over seasoned and packed with different ingredients-but simpler is often better. This was a very overpriced plate of pasta that I could have made at home for $5.

After trawling for parking on Arthur Avenue for over an hour right before Christmas (!!!) without success we were hungry and had an unfulfilled hankering for some Italian cuisine. And more so for some easy parking. When we saw Il Bacio we figured instead of walking by as we usually do we would go in. It is actually quite lovely inside, decorated to resemble an authentic Italian piazza complete with a gelato slinger. It is charming and we were promptly greeted and seated which is a big deal to me. We shared the calamari fritti which was just the rings. I am more of a tentacle fan. In fact I often ask for a plate of just tentacles. Because that's the way I roll. Unless it is fresh and fritti'd quickly it can get rubbery and taste like a fryer. It was ok just not my fave ever. I ate my share as I hate to think it died for nothing... I ordered a Caesar Salad with dressing on the side. It was huge and filling. I was glad I had the dressing on the side as it was a gelatinous blob probably consisting of over a thousand calories. I dipped my fork into it gingerly and spread the love. A minuscule amount went a long way. But it was, ahem, a Big Salad-So much so that the pizza I ordered, I took one bite, it was a Margherita, and took the rest home for our dinner. It was bland but luckily I had the right fixin's in the cupboard to make it special and... The L.'s eggplant parm also ended up as part of dinner that night. We took the eggplant and added it on the pizza. Its bread had become too soggy. Our bad. The service was plentiful. We must have had three different people help us. While we appreciated their attentiveness it did not make or dining experience feel personal. Maybe that is just the way they roll. We love going to Bronxville. We have tried many of the restaurants there. And while there are none that stand out to us, many are rather pedestrian, we enjoy spending a few hours shopping and eating. Il Bacio is worth another visit perhaps on a warm Spring day when their wall of windows is open, gelato is season appropriate and winter is but a memory. That just might be the secret to a better experience and meal. Cannot hurt to try... youtube.com/watch?v=pGXB…

Real Italian the ice cream is made there, the pizza is amazing, not overprice, good place to be outside drink wine, lovely.

I love the food here! I wish they had one of these stores in my neighborhood. The bolognese gnocchi is to die for. Pretty big portions - I usually end up taking half of the gnocchi home when I also order a pizza. I would also recommend the fungi pizza. The bread they serve is very good (but sometimes they don't serve it at all...?). A bit pricey, but definitely worth it considering the variety of dishes they serve. The only thing I do not like about this place is the service. The waiters are very nice, but the service is slow. Sometimes the food takes more than 20 minutes. I understand that it was lunch time and super busy, but still.
(4)Jim K.
Salads and wine were good, everything else blah. Party of eight, 4 adults and 4 kids. It took over 40 minutes for our food to come out. The pizza was greasy (had 1/2 margherita 1/2 wild mushroom) I suspect it was sitting in the kitchen while our other dishes were being prepared. The fish dinner special was nothing special. I have been here before and it was the first time 20% gratuity was automatically added to the check, so our waitress didn't pay us much attention. Disappointed :( !

Il Bacio, Il Bacio, how much I love you, Il Bacio!! My family and I (over 10 people) went here for lunch on a rainy Friday afternoon after a funeral for my lovely grandmother. To honor tradition, we enjoyed a meal together and reminisced about the awesome person she was/is. The space is a bit cramped but they were very accommodating to our party size (which includes a 9 month old baby). Our waitress was very attentive and kind to any and all requests we had - I know that service is a commonly cited complaint here on the Yelp reviews but I can only say good things about it (we had a pleasant blonde woman with a bit of an Eastern European accent). As for the food, I had a bowl of strachiatella soup for starters. The size was whoa! Really huge and awesome for the price - kinda hard to screw up strachiatella soup but it still was very good. Next, I had the Manhattan panini - the eggplant, the goat cheese, the wow... everything married very well together. The bread had the perfect blend of softness and crunchiness that you long for when ordering a sandwich. The fries were also crisp, fresh and not too salty or greasy. Now onto the revelation. The dessert that changed my life.... the affogato. PLEASE do yourself a favor and order it when you come here. Every single time - you need to. It is literally the best dessert I have ever tasted - I ordered one with nutella gelato and it literally had the most perfect blend of chilled espresso (which makes the difference, I think. Other affogati I've had prior had scalding espresso that ruined the gelato and panna before you could enjoy it), fresh panna and chocolate sauce. Please, just always order it. It's the culinary version of the song "Happy" by Pharrell - you will not be able to hold in a smile if you eat this. I love Il Bacio and hope to go again ASAP under happier circumstances.
(5)Robert H.
Incompetent....placed order for pick up. When I arrived well after the recommended pick up time, told order had not been sent to the kitchen. Double confirm that order has been placed. Make sure they send it to the kitchen.
(1)Jodie L.
I am a regular patron of Il Bacio and am always pleased with the service and the food quality. The wait staff is consistently lovely and attentive. They always accommodate a seating request so that an elderly person in our group can be as comfortable as possible. The pappardelle con limone is declicious! The sicilian moscato is a refreshing choice. The pizzas and salads are other choices that will not disappoint. In the warm weather months, the doors to the dining room are open which give a beautiful outdoors feel to the whole dining room (there are also some sidewalk tables).
(4)Yluna D.
Went around 10pm..super crowded. Amazing food for a couple; Weird not so kind staff; Embarrassing little tables with no place to fit..felt like we were eating with the ones next to us. Entré: Fried calamarie Main dish: -Avocado pizza (delicious!) -chicken parmesante (very saucy but perfect taste, also heavy) Dessert: -tiramisu (perfect to end your night with) -calloni (too heavy and not so good)
(3)Paula T.
I rarely give two stars. We both ordered iced tea, the tri-colore salad and a piece of Margherita pizza. They should have said, "The Margherita pizza is all dried out and looks terrible, let me suggest something else for you". I have never had a piece so dry and IF my friend had not been treating me, I would have sent it back. Gross. Please guys, you have a fairly good reputation and should NEVER serve something like that. They drizzled some pesto sauce in a zigzag which was just as bad, and I am a pesto-haulic. There are nice servers and service. I would have a hard time going back. The restaurant feels worn also now that I think of it. Bad decision on their part.Sorry owner/manager. You need to wake up to summer reviewers. We came and spent money, we have to have some value other then just food. It should be good food. For those who are not sure, tri-colore is a bitter salad with arugula and I have decided I do not like that much either.
(2)Alvin P.
I think this is a decent place, although nothing amazing. It's street parking, although the street is set up for slanted parking, so you will get more parking spots than your normal street parking I guess. The place was busy when we walked in, but got seated right away. The seating was a bit tight I guess, tables were very close to each other but nothing horrible. The food was good. I ordered the eggplant parm (I didn't like the appetizer options much), and a margarita pizza. My gf got mozzarella caprese and pasta. The eggplant parm was good, but it wasn't amazing. Tasted a bit bland to me. The pizza was actually pretty good, I think that's a dish I would try out again. The pasta tasted decent, but I think it needed a bit more sauce. The service seemed a bit rushed, had to ask a couple of times for water, and the waitress was a bit rushy at first. I think I may come here again before judging it for sure, but I don't think I'm a fan right now. If you are going, try the pizza. Other than that, I don't know the food stands out that much. We also got the tiramisu gelato, but it had a weird alcoholic taste to it. I think it overwhelmed the taste of it.
(3)Desiree C.
Best Italian pizza in Westchester! Unfortunately we moved and I can't go here as often as I used to go. Other dishes are great as well. Sometimes you have to wait a little during dinner rush hour. Atmosphere is great but sometimes there are too many people. Great for families, friends and couples. Service is great as well.
(5)Matt L.
Have been here on two separate occasions, once in the summer of 2014, once last night. Both visits to this restaurant were good, first time, I think I got the ravioloi. The second time, got the regular spaghetti, along with one of the soups. This place is cool cause it doesn't close till late.
(4)Sophia G.
We ate here last night. Food is delicious. I want to go back. Their Gelato are delicious. I really enjoyed the decor and the service.
(4)Tara C.
I'm struggling with this one since trusted friends had boasted about the fabulous pizza at this place and my lack of love leaves me confused. The place was packed on a Friday night. Noise level as you'd expect. We were seated in about 10 minutes. But the service was just... Meh. There was nothing truly outstanding. I felt like it took a long time to get our food and we were only provided four small pieces of bread. The menu was standard Italian fare with some interesting pizzas. We all ordered our own pizzas and half of mine was truly soggy. Over-sauced and a little over-baked. We ended up taking quite a bit home and had it for lunch yesterday... The grease really came out on the second bake. The high point was the wine, actually. They have a decent offering at reasonable prices and I truly enjoyed what we chose. Perhaps I'm just spoiled by stellar pizza, gourmet or otherwise, since others have provided rave reviews, but I just didn't feel like it was as amazing as everyone had proclaimed.
(3)Will L.
This place is clutch because you can run in and grab a slice and also some gelato, or you can call an order in and run in and pick it up. I recommend the Polenta appetizer, it is amazing.
(5)Philip B.
The food is absolutely fresh and tastes incredible. If you have enough room, try their gelato for dessert. The price is fairly reasonable. I would recommend this place to anyone.
(5)Frank P.
The food here has yet to disappoint. From the pasta to the pizza . So far have not had a bad meal. Good flavor. Attentive staff. They lost a point for the table bread. Everything else top notch
(4)Maria C.
Came here on my birthday with a party of 4 and absolutely loved everything. The minute we got there we felt a positive vibe from such nice staff members! We ordered pizza as a apetizer. And I ordered chicken parm & I enjoyed everything. So did my friends. I also had tirimisu gelato for dessert. Soooo good! Also our waiter was very nice & checked up on us a lot. I love that!!
(5)Hector E.
DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! I was just there with friends for dinner when all of a sudden we saw a disgusting cockroach crawling on the backrest of the seat my friend was sitting in. We killed it with a napkin and gave it to the waitress. She barely apologized. The manager or owner (I have no idea) came over to apologize for the incident and told us that it was a "struggle" to keep the place insect free. WHAT??? WE WALKED OUT never to return again.
(1)Aria H.
Really great neighborhood Italian place. Decor is cute, service has always been good (once lost a credit card there and they got it back to me pronto). I love the pasta and the calamari. I don't eat pizza but for lunch there are always TONS of kids coming in for an over-the-counter slice, and the gourmet pizza always smell good, too. The gelato isn't bad, either (and this is from somebody who stuffs her face with gelato whenever in Italy).
(5)Betsy P.
Absolutely the best veggie/salad pizza! Sometimes there are too many kids in the place but otherwise a nice lunch spot! Enjoy it!!!! Probably good for dinner too!
(4)JoMer M.
Everything we ordered was really delicious. I got the linguine with white wine clam sauce. The prices weren't too bad and the table we had outside was perfect. The staff was good and we will go back!
(5)Toni P.
Disgusting the pizza look crappy and dried out and the counter person acted like he didn't want to be there. Give a smile at least to your customer
(1)Matt A.
My wife and I have gone here for years. We love the atmosphere and the food. It's especially nice when the weather allows them to open up the windows on the front of the restaurant.
(4)Ashley M.
The pizza is very good, particularly the salad pizza. Pastas are fine too, but not outstanding. The gelato is excellent!!
(3)Annie P.
My fiancé and I went here yesterday for dinner. We were seated immediately. It's a very cute, very open area. Last night was the perfect temperature, so there was no real need for air conditioning so the doors all opened and it felt bright and airy inside. We ordered the eggplant parm, the mozzarella caprese, the lemon pappardelle, and the margarita pizza. The lemon pasta was so interesting. I think I like it. I thought it would be lighter but it looked like it was laden in oil or butter and it made it slightly greasy but the taste itself was pretty decent. The eggplant parm was good. I have had better but it was still good. If we were to come back, I might get that. That pizza was probably the best thing we ordered. They pureed the basil so it topped the pizza like pesto. It was quite flavorful. I really liked it. Of course, we couldn't resist the gelato when it was beautifully displayed like it was last night so we both got the tiramisu gelato. It tasted a bit more alcoholic than I liked but it was still tasty. The service was fine. They were fast and efficient. I didn't feel that Italian friendliness I usually feel in other Italian restaurants but it may be because they were particularly busy last night. All in all, I think I would come back. By the way, it's all street parking, but the neighborhood looks nice and after 6 pm, parking is free.
(4)Richard H.
I really can't count how many times I've been here. All that matters is that each time it's been great and tasty. It never disappoints. Service is always good. I've had so many items from the menu. The pizza is always freshly made for you. The lasagna is yummy. I had the gnocchi bolognese last night and it was just as good. I usually get a glass of wine or a bottle and that never disappoints either. I've had several of the entrees that include chicken and all are great. The one with balsamic is very good. Pastas that I've had, besides the lasagna and gnocchi, include orecchiette & cime di rape, cavatelli al pesto e pancetta, pappardelle al limone, and who knows what else. The desserts are also yummy. Def try the affogato if you like espresso. Cannolis always taste fresh. Gelato is great. and I always like to have an espresso with dinner and that's also good. Always a happy man after I leave Il Bacio. Enjoy.
(5)Meredith H.
Went to Il Bacio for dinner a few nights ago. It was a small pizza/restaurant and very crowded. However, the food was delicious! Pizza had great seasoning, the arugula salad was superb. Overall, definitely would recommend for a tasty italian dinner.
(4)Kimberly C.
I love this place. Never a bad experience. I've done pizza for take out and have sat down for dinner many times. If anything, try the gelato!!
(5)Meg K.
Tried this place on a whim a few months back and it has now become one of our favorite restaurants. It is definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in Westchester county. The service is excellent and so is the ambience. It can get a little noisy but I don't think that matters if you have good company and good wine! Food is spot on with generous portions. I really cannot comment on meat dishes but the veggie options that we tried are wonderful. The desserts and coffee are something to look forward to at the end of the meal. I can see us becoming regulars to this place!
(5)Napoleon R.
Excellent Pizza, Calzone etc... However, they really need to work on the consistency of their Chicken Parm. I can't express how much I hate ordering takeout for dinner, and dumping it in the trash because it wasn't fully cooked or felt/taste strange. I think there has been a change of Chef, as the seasoning/sauce of the Chicken Parm no longer tastes the same. I'm not saying the place is horrible, but just that they need to pay more attention to detail, especially in the late evenings. I work and go to school full-time and hate to trash over $20 of hard earned money. I'd rather them tell me, "I'm sorry we are only serving..." then, serve me something that is not up to par.
(4)Jamie D.
I came here with my significant other and was quickly greeted and seated. The staff is attentive here. We ordered the Bruschetta to start. Although it tasted good, there was no wow factor. It was too mellow for my taste. I had the Pescatore pasta and my significant other had something similar but with just shrimp. We both thought the food was mediocre. It was pasta. Nothing stood out and it lacked a certain freshness to it. They decorated the dish with a sprig of Basil, which I quickly ripped up and added to my dish! That made a difference, but not enough to get me excited about the food. I do appreciate the fact that the calamari in my dish was cooked perfectly though. I've heard so much about the pizza for lunch, so I might come back to try it out one of these days. The prices certainly did not reflect the quality of the food. Disappointed.
(3)Edison L.
we only came for their desert. 5 star for both the chocolate cake and tiramisu, especially the chocolate cake.. It smells like brownie with ice cram on the side. Highly recommend.
(5)Steve D.
Hey, ya! This was good Italian. Great NY Pizza (how I love thee). I hear the other food is good too. Thanks to my local friends to bring me here. The place is small but popular so there is a wait. Cool thing is they will text or call your cell when your table is ready. We squeezed into a window table on a snowing Feb night (You can squeeze me anywhere for good NY Pizza). Our waitress was responsive even if she looked surly all the time. She appeared Eastern European of Russian so I think that's as pleasant as they can muster (I've spent 2 months in Russia so no offense. A compliment in Russian sounds like they are threatening to kill your dog, if you don't know what they are saying) Anyways, good eats!
(4)Tim C.
Don't come here if you want good service. Came here for lunch and literally waited 30 minutes for a salad and two slices of pizza that only needed to be warmed. Food is good though, hence the two stars.
(2)Bobby G.
I do not like your veal parm I do not like it Sam I am I do not like it in this house I do not like it with a mouse Your's Truly Dr Seuss
(2)Jennifer M.
I been here at least twice a month and I use to love but i've seen the quality & service decrease in the last 12-15 months. The portions are less and the splitting of the salad they just bring an extra plate now instead of dividing it in the kitchen like the last 20 plus times I have ordered it. Love there specials & gelato is always a treat. There are always new servers and not too many regular servers, which you can asap see how new thew are. I still find it to be my staple in Bronxville but whatever has changed needs to be corrected since there are many other Italian restaurants in town that I am starting to explore.
(3)J. Z.
I really like this place both for the food and the value. The pizza is really good and the italian dishes are very good (my wife says their lasagna is the best she has eaten). Also a reasonably priced wine list and good service. They also have fresh gilato.
(4)RJ B.
Stopped by on a Thursday night, they have some outdoor seating and it was fairly crowded both inside and out but we got a table immediately. You're sort of on top of each other, but the people next to us were pleasant so who cares (probably the people that get seated next to someone obnoxious - or with kids). Anyway, our server did a nice job, and we split a plain pie. I was very happy with the pizza, good flavor, no complaints at all. I didn't try anything else, but for a first trip to Bronxville it left a good taste in my mouth. The prices may be considered a bit high, but certainly not outrageous, and the quality of the food was good and that's good enough for me.
(5)Rita B.
I love there Avocado Pizza.Actually all there food! Great food and a good family ambiance. Highly recommend.
(4)Devin H.
Its nice for lunch, but really nice for dinner. The pizza was outstanding, and the other Italian dishes looked and smelled delicious! Also had good Italian beer, and wine. The service was very good, and they have bread for free with butter, because i was hungry rite away when I smelled there pizza and i needed something to tide me over! Enjoy!
(5)Melissa S.
This rating is just based on their GELATO. I have never eaten dinner here. But I'm happy their is a place 10 minutes from my house that have Tiramisu gelato because I can't find it anywhere else in the area. It brings me back to my trips to Italy as a teenager. A+ for having a variety of awesome flavors and by far my favorite, the Tiramisu!
(5)Alice M.
This place has delicious, fresh food. I've been here on two separate occasions, and have gotten the lobster ravioli and the avocado pizza and they were both amazing. There are two drawbacks: 1) the place is ALWAYS crowded for dinner. The restaurant is small to begin with, and has tons of chairs packed around tables. The line gets intense after 5 and there's no real waiting room. 2) in consequence of 1, the service can be awful. The food comes out decently but flagging down a waiter can be deathly hard.
(4)Maria D.
I have been to this restaurant several times without incident. However this past weekend I had an experience that made me feel like garbage. I walked into the restaurant to request outdoor seating. Another person arrived just after me and the hostess gave his party the only available outdoor table rather than to me. To add insult to injury , when i asked why they were seated before me, she told me that I was wrong, that they were there first. She may have chosen to give her attention to them first but they were not there first. Rather than just apologizing she was insistent upon defending her position. Poor customer service and I see no reason why my boyfriend and I should return. We had a wonderful dinner around the corner instead. Good food does not compensate for this
(1)Matt H.
The panzanella salad is great. Healthy, filling and delicious.
(4)William H.
pretty good food, fucking terrible service.
(3)Crystal N.
The service has been getting worse and worse every time I come here and the quality of food has been declining over the past few years. Last time I ate here, they'd taken my favorite pizza off the menu, they drained my pasta so poorly was more of a soup there was so much water in it, and the waitress and maitre de were rude and unfriendly. On top of the shoddy service and crappy meal, on my way out I saw a ROACH in the staircase corridor leading to the restrooms, which is only a few feet away from the main dining area. It is always filthy in the restroom area and stinks, and they clearly have a pest problem which shows that the place isn't clean. If that's what the restaurant floor looks like the kitchens must be filthy. The attitude of the people who work here pompous at best and downright rude at worst, they treat you like shit and then feed you shit. My friends and I will not be returning here again.
(1)Nancy N.
We ate here for the first time last night -- it was after seeing the movie "Trip to Italy" so no wonder we were in the mood for Italian food. Somehow, despite our frequent dining forays to Bronxville, we had managed to miss this sweet local spot. I was in the mood for calamari in tomato sauce fra diavolo (spicy) and that was the first dish listed on their entrée menu -- sold! We started out with wine by the glass -- a red Montapulciano and a white from Sicily, both excellent -- along with standard, but well executed, tri colore salads. Our waiter was lovely and attentive throughout the meal. My calamari over linguine came and wow -- it was incredible. Cooked to absolute tenderness, as is so difficult with calamari, in a delicious tomato sauce with a few hot peppers over homemade pasta. Really yummy. My boyfriend likewise loved his veal saltimbocca. Both were generous portions at reasonable prices. For dessert we had their gelato -- many flavors are offered and are viewable, with tastes offered, at their front counter. We arrived without reservations on a Saturday night to a full restaurant, but fortunately they had one table available for us. We have added this place to our list of regulars based on such an enjoyable, relaxing first visit. Recommended.
(5)Christina S.
Best Italian food in bronxville! So light and fresh! The pizza is amazing, especially the margherita pie! I'm very picky about lasagna and theirs is light and fresh and more cheesy than saucy which is what I prefer. Highly recommended!
(5)Andrew S.
Another great meal here. The service is good and the food is consistently at a very good level. I will def be returning!
(4)Elias L.
This is the second time we've eaten here over the course of a few years and, true to form, the service was indifferent at best. It's a noisy place and the food was very slow to arrive. I don't think it too much to expect the wait-staff to see if we needed more water...they never did Our appetizers were fine--grilled asparagus and artichoke hearts w/parmesan; the eggplant/zucchini veggie pizza was a big disappointment...bland, soggy with very little eggplant. We tried this restaurant again tonight because, the last time we were there, the pizza was extraordinary.
(2)Clint W.
Hands down best Italian in Bronxville. Meatballs are great. Great pizza. Gelato is great. I recommend to anyone looking for a place to eat in Bronxville.
(4)Sylvia D.
I have to say I've been here often, and it's my go to place. My daughter loves the pizza, and I love the salads. Usually with their daily features there is a selection I will pick, or go to my fav, the Penne a la vodka. Their portions are always generous, and I appreciate finding a nice glass of red wine which is organic. I've never really been disappointed. I even celebrated a birthday there.
(5)Helena H.
For some reason the quality of this restaurant has decreased over the last year or so. The pizza is great, as is the bruschetta. However the dishes we have ordered the last couple of times, and we almost always get the same things, are very hit and miss. The chicken balsamico used to be light and delicious, now it's stodgy and the sauce is very heavy and overpowering. The scarpariello sauce had absolutely no taste for whatever reason. The gelato is really good I must say. This has been our go to place in Bronxville for a long time, but we won't be returning for a while. The food is far from bad, but not worth the drive when you don't know which version of your favorite dish you'll get.
(3)Mel B.
Can you say Gelato? This stuff is out of this world. I visited my parents in Bronxville and think we had Gelato five times. Pistachio, Nutella, Mint, oh my. It's really weirdly good. Oh right, you wanted dinner? Also excellent, though not as excellent as the Gelato (I'd give that 5 stars). I've had the rigatoni a la vodka, chicken franchaise, and a panini. All are great, but not outstanding. The staff is attentive, though you have to ask for olive oil & vinegar for the bread and I think that's weird at an Italian restaurant. All in all, I really liked this place. It's not the fanciest place in town, but it's a cute little Italian joint with nice table service. A little pricey, but good portion sizes.
(4)Aimée R.
Cute, good food, sit inside or outside or half and half and enjoy a glass of wine or some pizza.

Generic Italian restaurant in Bronxville. Overpriced thin slices with skimpy toppings. This establishment was much better when it first opened. Take-out here should be avoided as there are better options nearby but dining in is what truly saves this restaurant. Attentive waitstaff and modern yet cozy feel. Good gelato and pasta. Bottom Line- Mediocre and should be overlooked

Delicious, convenient, and a nice atmosphere. Classic Italian fare, well prepared, and amazing desserts. You have to try the flourless chocolate cake; its hot, soft and crunchy, and piled on with smooth creamy gelato and hot chocolate sauce. Whip cream, of course. I would go back just for that dessert. My meal was good as well - salmon and a salad with some bleu cheese dressing. Overall a very pleasant experience!

I gave this upscale restaurant in central Bronxville a second try and essentially duplicated my initial experience. The restaurant is working to put forth an upscale image and the food is pricey. While they have a lot of somewhat more creative than usual topping options for pizza, they seem to be imitations of other restaurants and not to go well together or to have been carefully tested. Again the pizza crust was bland but this time it was thin, earning the restaurant a third star for this rating. Again very fresh but bland sauce and insufficient / bland mozzarella.

Delicious, homemade spaghetti and meatballs It's obviously one of the local's favorite spots. Great fresh fish selections, gelato and appetizers. Definitely plan on going back with the family.

I thought the food was mediocre...I'm a vegetarian so I can't speak for the meat. We started off with the bruschetta and that was actually very good, but it went downhill from there :( The manicotti was just ok, nothing special and the mushroom/pesto pizza was very bland.

This place has gone through its paces. But the manager, Randy, is back and the menu and the service is returning to it's splendor. I've dined here over the past ten years. The food is very good and the prices are moderate. It has become a family favorite, probably mostly due to the delicious pizza. So it can get rather noisy. If you prefer a little more peace and quiet, go during the week for lunch or perhaps dinner. Weekends are the busiest especially for lunch. They have outdoor seating which is very nice during the warmer days, with potted flowers and greenery to soften the dining experience. Overall the food is good, not the best Italian food I have ever eaten but certainly acceptable and consistent. The wait staff has always been very friendly and eager to please. The homemade Gelato is Excellent, my favorite is the mint chocolate chip. I also like the Spinach and Egg soup (Stracciatella). I wish they played authentic Italian cafe music. Keep in mind, this is not a restaurant, it's a Trattoria. It's casual atmosphere with decent food at moderate prices.

I would give it 4 stars but their pizza brings it up to 5. the bianca parma pizza is delicious, the clams are great, delicious gelato, friendly staff, and its cheap! One of the best places in the neighborhood.

I really like il bacio. The staff has always been friendly and the service is always fast. I am not a big pizza eater but their avocado slice is very enjoyable. I usually go in there to get my favorite which is their tortellini soup. It's a great soup on cold autumn day as well as a blooming day in spring. I love their penne vodka, very tasty ( a dish you think most places should make well and don't). Overall a good find. Make sure to try some of the best gelato in westchester.

I ordered food her twice, takeout. The first time the salad that I ordered I requested dressing on the side, that didn't happen, by the time I was able to eat it the lettuce was soggy and not edible. 2nd time the salad had a long black hair. Again not edible. I lost interest. I frequent the restaurant across the street, Wild Ginger the salads are fresh and sushi is great. I believe the owner of Bacio owns Haiku I'm not 100% but that's what I hear. If that's the case, I always see both restaurants are very busy, I just don't get it!!! But then a lot of people have uneducated taste buds and prefer bland boring food.

The service RUINED this place for me. My friend, who's been here a few times says that its NEVER this bad. Our waitress was a moron. I can see that only the "regulars" get any attention. We were ignored and overlooked the whole time. I don't remember my anger and frustration level to ever be this high, especially while I'm eating: usually thats my happy place. We had salads and pasta. The food was edible/mediocre. Of course, Bronxville prices are like NYC prices. I don't mind paying for it as long as the food quailty and service are worth it. Will never come here again.

This place is always packed, but the wait is worth it. I've had some amazing handmade pasta there. One fall, I literally was there daily for their pumpkin ravioli..yummy! Pizza is good, gelato variety nice..service prompt. Prices are rather reasonable for bronxville.

Big portions, homemade pasta, good looking pizza. what else would you like? well, a better salad? so this place is really a pizzeria with some nice dishes here and there. They try and miss on different interpretations of typical Italian dishes. On one of hottest nights of the summer, there was very weak air conditioning. Also the gelato sizes were huge but melted into jello pretty quickly due to aforementioned warm climate. may go back for pizza but not sure of pasta dishes.

Great atmosphere - sat on the patio on a beautiful summer evening. Food is very good at reasonable prices.

Great salads, great lemonade, great pizza, great pasta- I especially love their gnocchi. A bargain for Bronxville, this place is always packed. The gelato is to die for.

As a local I have been here many times over many years. food is not exceptional but was always tasty. I have definitely noticed a decline in quality. Orecchiette with broccoli rabe and chicken used to contain lovely chunks of grilled chicken. My dish arrived with shards of chicken. Yes shards. Something in between a chunk and a shred, grilled but dried out. Pizza arrived quite soggy in the middle. Disappointing over all but not fatal. As I often do I stopped in for a quick bite last Saturday, this time with my nieces in tow. This place would never pass muster with my husband for one major reason and the reason I am posting a review...the bathrooms in the lower level are the foulest, a wretch worthy experience that means I will never return. This is beyond a slide for a busy restaurant that can't keep up with a rush of patrons. There must be a serious flooding issue on the lower level. The multitude of air freshness in a small enclosed space are not up to the task. The stench was unbearable but unfortunately no escape for me as I waited for my nieces. If this pit stop occurred before lunch we would not have eaten upstairs my skin crawled with disgust I don't think they would pass the NYC grading system which should be adopted in westchester. Without delay.

Favorite pizza in westchester. Also yummy salads and gelato. Get ready to wait, but it is SO worth it!

Great Italian food!!! Lobster Raviolo---- AMAZING Salad Pizza----- The most delicious, fresh vegetables with chunks of fresh mozzarella... it even has chunks of avocado on it!!! It is the most delicious, gourmet, salad pizza i've ever had!

I love the pizza and gelato here! I actually haven't had anything else from here. The pizza is always awesome. Even the plain sicilian slice is great! I think it's b/c of all the fresh ingredients they use. They even have different types of pizzas depending on what vegetables are in season. Every time I go there, I see a pizza with toppings I haven't scene there before and it's always a hit! I don't know who decides which toppings goes together on a pizza but the combination is always great. Go in and leave happy!

Il Bacio is a little tight space wise, but that is the only thing holding it back. Location is great. Food is above average for the type of restuarant it is. Salads are fresh. Portion size is plenty. We love the gelato bar for a quick snack or an after meal desert. Excellent choice for a nice relaxing lunch.

Since my original review, I have come back to this place several times for dinner. I have also tried other dishes on their menu and everything is very good. My favorite has to be their pumpkin ravioli - very yummy. Be sure to get some ice cream after dinner - it is their speciality.

Yum. Yum. Yum. Gelato is delic. So is the chicken franciese (i just eat it, i can't spell it)

I'm reviewing this place as a lunch spot - I've been here with friends several times. The food is consistently good and the service is warm and friendly. The made-to-order pizza, panini, and salads have all drawn rave reviews, and - for Bronxville - are reasonably priced.

So, my friend and I decided to go here after a doc appt. We strolled past many different restaurants until she decided that this lil number was the one for her (she's pregnant). I liked the bread (after it was warmed) but the calamari was quite bland. I loveddd my meal of Chicken Scarpariello, which is chicken and sausage in a light garlic-rosemary sauce. It was served with broc and a potato thingy. I thought that the chicken was tender and well seasoned. My friend enjoyed her shrimp dish, and we both loved our gelato. I will return, but most likely for take-out.

I had the gnocchi last year while visiting, and it was so amazing I still can't stop thinking about it. I'm so lucky I went here, but now I am sad to live so far away.

The last time I remember visiting this restaurant was around July or August of 2009. However, last weekend we decided to visit it again. My friends and I decided to go to this restaurant as a way to catch up on things since graduation. I ordered Orecchiette with Broccoli Rabe which was excellent, and I never eat broccoli rabe (I've always found it to be so bitter). My dish was great and one of my friends ordered Chicken Parmigiana with Penne while my other friend ordered Rigatoni alla Vodka. We all had a great time, and although the tables are situated right beside one another it was still a comfortable dining experience. I remember that the lighting was dim, but I'm pretty sure that it was to create the effect of being in an old Italian house, which usually is lit by candlelight or the fire that comes from the brick oven. I ordered tiramisù gelato (which was amazing) for dessert and my friends ordered chocolate chip gelato and a slice of red velvet cake. You'll notice a pattern forming in my reviews with my addiction to tiramisù. I have to say that I was very impressed with our waitress. For both courses she didn't even need a pen and paper to write down our orders, she simply memorized it. She was attentive to the table the whole time while also attending to about three other tables. It was our second time there, and we will probably visit again sometime during Christmas vacation.

This restaurant is always busy. That would indicate that the food is excellent. It isn't. It's good, but it's not excellent. The pizza is tasty, but I did not consider the sauce to be excellent, and that is what it takes to make an excellent pizza. The tables are small, the service is relatively slow (probably due to how busy it is), the prices are Bronxville-inflated, it is noisy, the is very little elbowroom, and people are very nosey about whatever everyone else is eating. This restaurant is too loud and casual to be fancy, and too expensive to be a regular stop. I would stop here if you want to try something new, but I was not overly impressed.

This has always been a reliable place.Really good service, kid friendly, large tasty portions with enough for lunch the next day..Gelato is very very good.It is not quiet romantic dining but it serves a need for a decent meal with peasant service..The thin crust traditional pizza is a faorite

Came in for New Year's Day lunch. They were understandably busy but the service was beyond terrible. We were seated immediately and then we waited about 20 minutes before someone came to take any kind of order. The food came out in a reasonble amount of time and it was good. We were never given any bread so I asked for some. The bread came approximately 5 minutes after we finished our food and the plates were taken away. We waited another 10 minutes for a desert menu or coffee or maybe a check....nothing. we finally had to go up to the counter to get the check. We were told that everyone was waiting because they were busy. Not true. People seated after us were taken care of immediately and had bread on the table. I Would rather have had a sincere apology than b.s. excuses for the poor service. I remember when this place first opened--it was excellent! Average Italian food and terrible service, go somewhere else.
