Hipster Haven, but still good for anyone. Sweetness 7 has a wide variety of coffee and teas, as well as good food for relatively cheap. They have a lot of vegetarian options if that's your thing. The setting of Sweetness 7 is very laid back. You can go and have a nice conversation, read a book, get some work done, or play a game. They have a great location if you want to grab a coffee and walk through the park. I would recommend it.

I'll be honest, I don't know why everybody is up this place's ass. The employees are slow and always distracted with eachother, it takes 30 minutes to get a breakfast sandwich and you're lucky if your coffee comes out in 15 - extra lucky if it's hot. The food is sloppily put together, the kitchen cooks bacon to two ways - almost raw or black. The crepes are good but nothing special you couldn't make with Juila Childs basic crepe recipe. Their other offerings are OK depending on who makes it - there is too much variation in taste and quality to trust that your fav thing on the menu will taste remotely the same the next time you order it. I'll likely keep coming here because I Don't hate it as much as Spot. But the owner really needs to be an owner and tell her employees that having full out conversations while customers are waiting is bullshit.

Just left here after enjoying a delicious crepe here. Called "Mambo #5" - the crepe was filled with ratatouille, and smothered in the most delicious goat cheese sauce - the was SO DELICIOUS! Everything ing here is organic and free range, and the side salad of mixed field greens and tomatoes tasted like they were just picked from the garden. Awesome freshly brewed iced tea also! They only thing I didn't like about this place is the employees expect you to come pick up your own food in the kitchen after yelling it out. The place was empty except for my table - you would think the girl at the counter could have brought the plate over. Other than that - funky and great food!

Buffalo, you gots to get on this location of Sweetness 7! First of all, they've got super-tasty crepes, only at this location. That alone is reason enough to come - Buffalo is sadly short on the skinny pancake sandwiches. Sweet and savory options abound for their daily brunch, and they're pretty good. Filling, too! Second reason is, the decor is awesome: you enter through a big ol' wooden door, and inside, it's all dark, rough wood, with a heavy medieval-style chandelier hanging over the round central table. You half expect Frodo or Sir Lancelot to stroll in and order a latte. It feels like the home of a friendly Buffalo gnome, perhaps one who blogs for Apartment Therapy. (Check out the cute racks of mugs behind the register and thoughtfully-placed pillows along the side wall; you'll see what I mean.) Third, the espresso is on-point: strong enough to get my foot tapping independently of my body, and decently well-roasted. Fourth, parking was easy (head down the side street to the right of the plaza and go around back). Fifth, they have wi-fi, and did not mind me staying there for hours, even though after the first few I was simply taking up table space and filling up the Mason jar they gave me with free water from the cute little jug in the corner. The staff was straight-up friendly, so this isn't surprising, but the other reason I didn't feel pressured to go was because hardly anyone else came in. Granted, I got there after the morning rush, but still. I only saw half a dozen people between the hours of about 10am and 3pm, when the cafe closes. Yes, it closes at 3! I'd imagine more people will come when the warm weather returns and folks head to the Buffalo Zoo (directly across the street). In the meantime, I'm hoping the Parkside location will open in the evening to serve the 9-5 crowd that may only be able to make it in around dinnertime -- cause they gotta make their rent somehow. I get why they close early on the Westside, as it's a sketchy 'hood, but Parkside is a different story, and may need a different approach. In the meantime, I'll totally be coming back to enjoy the ample elbow room and classic rock tunage at this location during the day!

This is the creperie location there also have another one closer to the westside of buffalo. I prefer this one more over the other simply because they're just delicious!

So I came back, again. I'm an optimist. And the crepes are great. There is one other customer here, has his food already, sitting outside. Noone sitting inside. So really, not too busy. It's summer and the tables outside are nice. It's a great option to have. But again the attention to detail is lacking. Sitting on the Parkside side outside there is a water pipe area or something. So position the tables better around that. I order a lemonade drink, made by the guy behind the counter who is clearly distracted by something else he'd rather be doing. Ok. He puts drink down in front of me and I ask for a straw. Rather than reaching and getting me one he says, dismissively, they are over there (armsreach for him). Seriously? But I mentioned he was distracted. 15 minutes later, my friend comes and we move to the side street outside seating, which is very nice. Once again with someone who has never been here before, but was interested in the crepes. They do have hard copy menus, which we were able to reveiw instead of the "wall". (Prior review indicated the lack of them.) We both order the Farms not Arms crepes, one with sausage, the other without. The employee (now a female one) starts to give us this "England" spoon, and says, when you hear this called come get your food at the window. I confirmed there was a speaker outside, she said no, "its not busy, so i can bring it out to you". I say, Great, and decide to TIP for that table service, which I do very obviously saying, "Its great that you are going to bring the food outside". My friend also orders a "cafe au lait", which comes before the crepes. However, no sugar comes with it, but happily she has some with her, so we are good there. She takes a sip and asks me to take one as well. Its undrinkable. Seriously undrinkable. Tastes like water was used instead of milk? Or watered down milk? I'm not sure, but it was not a cafe au lait. Sadly. My friend does not drink it, just leaves it. She does not want to go in and get something else. The crepes come and they are - consistently - terrific. Really really good. They will keep me coming back (since they STILL DON'T DO CARRYOUT), they are that good that they outweigh the ridiculous service here. All three stars are for the crepes. In fact, I'd give them 5 stars for those alone, but I'd give negative stars for the service, caring, interest in job, general attitude of the male employees I have come across behind the counter. The one female I have had behind the counter was better, but still not terrific. If I were the manager here I would focus more on customer service. **It was suggested that I give two stars by both my friend on this visit as well as one or two others I solicited feedback from before posting this review, but again, I don't feel that's accurate given the quality of the crepes, which is of course, the "main attraction" here afterall. No Amex here. And also - post the wifi code. Don't make us go bother the employee who has something else he'd rather be doing. (And when we go to "bus" our table my friend is before me, and when she asks the guy (again the guy) behind the counter where they go, he sort of grunts the answer and moves his head in the direction of the bus station. She even commented on how rude he was.)

To drink a Dopio (double espresso) with a side of their layered coffee cake, and get my affairs in order before starting work, is the near perfect way to start my day. It's dimly lit, with relaxed music, and humble staff. I almost wanted to keep this gem to myself, but alas the golden rule abides. Coffee is a dollar after 1pm, Mon-Fri, the bathroom is clean, and it's across the street from Delaware Park. The tables could be wiped down better, and the dish piles could be removed quicker, but for the lack of pretension and comfortable ambience it's worth every penny.

Crepes = heaven. Love the apple and brie as well as the nutella and banana! Bohemian Rhapsody is super good too (berries and cream). I've also had the spinach and mushroom which tasted pretty good as well. Prices are high, unfortunately. You could expect to pay a lot for a crepe and specialty drink. They have pastries and other coffeehouse delicacies as well. Big fan of the iced Vietnamese coffee as well - I prefer the sweetened condensed milk on the bottom and stir myself :) Great location (right in front of the zoo!) and also has outdoor seating to make for a lovely afternoon.

i give this place 4 stars because the food and atmosphere is incredible. split a lemon curd/kiwi crepe and a turkey/mozz/spinach/tomato/pesto crepe and a french press coffee. plus a cinnamon peach muffin. each crepe about $10 and filling why not 5 stars? because the guy who took our orders was a little rude and arrogant. just a typical pretentious crazy hair bearing striped shirt wearing moody hipster of buffalo -- that's all :p

Cozy little cafe with mismatched decor that adds to its charm. I had "proper porridge"- steel cut oats with apples and I added some banana. It was a good hearty breakfast for a cold winter day, but nothing to write home about. I had just a regular coffee that was good. My friend had the Birkenstock crepe which was delicious. Other pastries and house made English muffins also looked yummy. While a little pricey ($8-$10 crepes & typical $4+ lattes), this place is definitely worth a visit. (Get the crepes!)

I LOVE this place. I am definitely coffee shop/cafe person and I have to say that this location meets so many desired qualities. They have wonderful coffee. They have fresh-cooked creative menu options to include varieties of crepes (no other coffee shop I know of can boast that). They have a relaxed atmosphere and a lovely amount of tables and seats to choose from. Add to all that a rustic, bohemian feel with tall curtained windows that let the sun stream in and you have this cozy cafe. The barista even brought us some extra brownies they had on hand while me and my friend were chatting. So nice. :) This place is definitely in a class of its own in so many wonderful ways and I will be bringing friends here for many times to come. :)

The food is worth the wait; especially if you can grab a seat at the beautifully carved wooden buffalo table at the center of the cafe. Ive always loved places that have boardgames available. Nice view of the zoo patrons from across Parkside Ave.

When you walk into this place, you know you are going to have a fun and yummy meal. The variety of crepes is enticing. My lunch crew tried many of them and they were all loaded with fresh and tasty ingredients. I had the Bohemian Rhapsody (berries and cream) and it was worthy of the name. The seating is a little uncomfortable and that's the only reason I've given a less than perfect score. I would definitely take this location over the one on Grant, but that's because I love crepes. Their tea drinks are also exquisite; the London Fog will transport you across the pond.

I've enjoyed both Sweetness 7 locations and each has a similar rustic cafe vibe going on, but I like this one the best! I think having the creperie menu option is what put it over the top for me. Stopped by on a rainy weekday around noon, and I was a little surprised the place was completely empty...oh well, got the whole place to myself! Very cool cafe decorated interior and woodwork. I ordered a regular coffee and The Whole Shebang crepe for brunch. The crepe is filled with thin sliced ham and melted mozzarella cheese, with chunks of pulled chicken and a good portion of bechamel sauce poured on top....yum! It came with a side salad - spring mixed greens was just OK. The crepe was not as sweet as I normally like, but the combination of everything was very good and I still enjoyed every last bite!

I went down on a beautiful spring day the other weekend and enjoyed some crepes. It happened to be St. Patrick's Day and to my childish delight we received the 'Ireland' soup spoon in a pop bottle to signify our order. Hehe. My fiance got a crepe with brie and apples which seemed like it would be more savory but he really enjoyed it with the whipped cream (which was dyed green- adorable!) I ordered a classic crepe with nutella and added banana. It was loaded with nutella (yum) and lots of green whipped cream. My major disappointment was it cost me $1 to add on banana and I think there were 6 small slices of banana. Bananas seem like an inexpensive fruit for me to buy so I felt a little stolen from. Overall a very tasty breakfast in a cute cafe.
The total for two people just enjoying Nutella crepes and drinks was a little on the pricey side, for something that simple. But overall it was delicious !

I really like this place, but I can see why someone else might not. The regular coffee isn't great, but their Mexican coffee is amazing (of course it's basically a dessert). I have dirty dreams about the Irish Blessing crepe (brie and baked apples), but the other ones I've tried are only ok (Irish Peasant, Hippie Hippie Shake). The crepes are also a bit pricey. Another slightly annoying thing is that if you pay with a credit card, you have to opt-out of leaving at least a 15-25% tip because of the options on whatever app they use. I like to leave a tip at a coffee shop (ex-barista in the house!), but you have to go back to the kitchen to pick up your food and clear your own plate, so I'm not sure its a full 20% tip type of establishment. However I dig the atmosphere; some of the baristas seem cool; they have board games and books and free wi-fi. As a person who mostly works from their laptop, I'll be spending a decent amount of my life in this place. But I might have to get a job here for the employee discount so I don't go broke on crepes. You guys hiring??

The crepes are very good. The selection of food and drink is a nice change from the usual. The amount of food is enough to fill you up. The decor is your grandmother's antiques. The seating is not comfortable, no padding. The prices are reasonable but not cheap. You pick up your order from the kitchen when they call your name and you put your dishes in plastic buckets near the kitchen when you are done. There is outside seating. It feels rather cramped inside. If you sit in the table near the kitchen, which we did, everyone will be going past you to get their food and put their dirty dishes in the buckets. The clientele was mostly college age. But we are seniors and felt comfortable. We would return to try some of their other offerings.

When you get to the counter look for the baked goods basket to your left. Being on a budget, they had $1 'overnight' baked goods, so I took a (mystery) muffin. It still tasted great and was much preferable to spending $8 on some (admittedly good) crepes.

Cute interior. I'd come hang out here. Wonderful light streaming through the windows, lighting up the warmth of the wood. They have crepes!! After visiting the late night creperies in Washington DC earlier this year, I was thoroughly excited to find out that we have a reliable source for crepes in the Queen City (we'll have to convince them to stay open late. I'd totally give up Jim's and ETS in a heartbeat for post-bar crepes). The crepes here are delicious. Coffee is also unexpectedly good (I know, it's a coffee house and all, but still). More visits in store.

This gal is nothing if not a little romantic.... especially on Valentine's Day! And what can be more romantic than a special crepe breakfast for two in this gem of a restaurant? (Well...possibly if the person I'm sharing that special breakfast with is a more than a friend... but that's another story....) I've ALWAYS loved both locations of "Sweetness 7 Cafe", but must say that I'm a bit partial to this one because of the crepes. YUM! The best crepes I've had outside of Paris, these are delicate and still flavorful.... and filled with oh-so-amazing ingredients. For their "Lover's Day" feast yesterday they served up a plate of any three (!!!) crepes to share with any two beverages for $15. (WOW!!!). The two of us chose one with spiced apples and brie, one with lemon curd and kiwi, and one with berries and whipped cream. I wish I could remember the actual names of them.... they were so darn cute! But, named or not..... they were all absolutely AMAZING! We kept tasting bites of each trying to decide which was the favorite.... and it was a total tie. We could not decide. They were all THAT GOOD. For my beverage I chose a vanilla ginger latte. SUPER WOW! That creamy, sweet, and spicy beverage was PERFECT! Oh "Sweetness 7 Cafe" how do I love thee? Let me count (and count... and count....) the ways!

Now that I live too close to here, I visit often. They have a small kitchen and a great hard-working staff. The homemade english muffins are so good. The Grant Slam is my go-to for weekend late-morning breakfast. The crepes are amazing too. On the weekend mornings if you're in a rush and don't have time to hang out and wait for a while, you may want to skip it. It's really a good, locally-owned spot.

I love this space. It has a great ambiance decor and is the perfect place to meet up with someone. There very few locally owned coffee shops in Buffalo (people always think Spot is but it's hasn't been for years). You can get coffee for $1 and they have games available as well. The staff are great. I would love for them to have vegan crepes, but that might be asking too much. I don't understand why their ten cup coffee to go box is significantly more expensive than ten cups of coffee.

OK. After my most recent visit here my crepe cravings have been put to rest forever. I will never come here for food again. Sorry I keep posting about this place, but I'm kind of mad at myself for being so far offbase on this one. My friend and I stopped in for crepes last Sunday right around 5 pm and ordered crepes (everything else there is crap-see previous). After we placed our order we were milling around the counter and I noticed several--like 10+--fruit flies COVERING their chocolate chip pumpkin muffins. These suckers were huge. It was completely disgusting, so I told the coffee/counter girl about it. She said, "Oh you're right, I'll take those out of the display." After that, we went to find seats, and I was happy knowing I had spared some poor soul a fruit fly-covered muffin. WELL. When we went to leave I noticed the girl didn't throw the muffins out! Let me repeat that: SHE DIDN'T THROW OUT THE FRUIT-FLY INFESTED MUFFINS. She had them on the window leading back to the kitchen. We left right around closing, so I can only imagine that they proceeded to sell those muffins as "day old" product Monday morning. SO GROSS. I guess I should say that I'm not positive that they sold those muffins per se, but the fact that their staff hesitated to throw out insect-infested food is terrifying. It creeps me out and makes me question the cleanliness of the entire place. Like I said, no more crepes for this girl.

I finally got the chance to visit this creperie in Parkside. I once visited their sister location in Grant Street, and I was equally impressed in this one. We had lunch here, as we fancied crepes for lunch one day. I got the huevos rancheros crepes, which was wonderfully made. It had enough of everything, and surprisingly, they all go well with the crepe. I was also impressed with the hibiscus lemonade. Overall, the food was great, and for the amount they charge, it's well worth it. I think just by the food alone, I'd give them 4 stars. But they have more. There's baked goods that they sell. They have free refills of coffee if you can show a student ID, they have free wi-fi, the decor is superb, and there's just plenty of little things that scream "We are an independent establishment" that I like. Oh, they also extended their hours. They used to be closed by 3 PM, but apparently, now they are open until 6. So yes, I am a fan, I think this is one of the better joints here in Buffalo. Too bad my time in Buffalo is numbered. But I'll try to visit them again before I leave.

Ive only been to this location once but it is an experience I will never forget. If you love crepes you definitely need to give this place a try. The food is absolutely delicious- wonderfully made, great crepe choices, great prices, and a friendly staff! Modified 3/9/13- I had another visit to Sweetness my last time home and it wasnt as good as I remembered it to be. The crepes were alright, I had the Trippie Hippie- I did not get it with spinach but I would definitely try it with if I ever had a chance to go back. I also had the mixed berry smoothie. It was extremely thick which made it difficult to drink with a straw and there was a TON of seeds in the smoothie which I did not enjoy.

Mmmmm! Crepes were delish! Nutella, banana, whipped cream. (and a side of morning star veggie breakfast patties). Great cinnamon latte too. The service was a little slow and a little flighty (that's kind of their deal), but MUCH friendlier than the other location!! I didn't mind because I wasn't in a hurry. (don't go if you're in a hurry.). I can't wait to go back!

I'm on the fence with this one. I think the decor of the restaurant is the best part. They have an old school look with knickknacks everywhere. There was an old chess board. We played while the food and drinks were being prepared. It wasn't super busy I went around lunch time with my boyfriend. The service seemed a little slow but the place is very small so I can only imagine that the kitchen is small as well. The crepes are good but not great I had better in a mall in Montreal. The chai tea was amazing spicy and delicious and served in a cup and saucer. I would defiantly come back again, but not frequently it's pretty pricey also just the 2 of us with 2 crepes and 2 chai teas our bill was over $30.00

The coffee offerings are excellent. The crepes are killer, especially the Irish Blessing (brie and caramelized apples) in my opinion. The baked goods are also very, very good. If you get there around 8am you can grab an awesome, hot out of the oven scone. But the menu is pretty limited and the food service time can be a bit slow when its busy. The atmosphere is very unique, rustic and earthy, much like the Grant Street location. Altogether, a great place to grab crepes for breakfast and coffee.

I stopped into this place after the zoo one day and just by appearances I didn't like the place. There was way way way too much clutter! It was an incredibly hot day out and I was looking for a cold drink to guzzle down and I stood there in line waiting for someone to come help me. The employees were standing in the back chatting and shoving food in their mouths. Although my first experience here was pretty bad their hibiscus lemonade was awesome... I'll take a gallon please!

This review is only for the Parkside location. The Grant Street location is great. This one ---well not so much. The location of this place seems great. It is across the street from the zoo, right by the park, and there aren't many other options around. BUT, they don't want kids there. They don't ban them or anything, but when I asked if they had a high chair, they said that they don't have high chairs because they don't want to encourage people to bring kids. She also mentioned something about kids accidentally bumping into cups of hot coffee. Look, if you don't want kids in your cafe, don't open up across the street from the zoo! And believe me, securing a kid in a high chair is likely to _reduce_ the likelihood of kids bumping into cups of hot coffee. The place on grant street is very kid friendly with high chairs and games. My big gripe about this place though is the food. I love the food at the other sweet_ness 7, but this place only serves crepes and will not serve them to go. Crepes are ok, but it would be nice to have other options. They also don't have that many varieties of crepes. There is only one that I like [can't recall the name but it is the one with ratatouille]. I got a crepe with chicken and mushrooms and it was nearly in edible. The chicken was very hard [old or just overcooked I couldn't determine] and tasted terrible. We have tried this place a couple times because we really want to like it and wanted to give them a chance to get the kinks out, but we are unlikely to return. Two stars because it is a nice place to sit and they do have decent coffee.

Finally got a chance to go to Sweetness & by the park. Stopped to get breakfast on my way to work. I liked the look of the Cafe, it was rustic and calm but they had annoying rope curtain in the doorway you had to push through. Leave the door open or closed but don't make me feel like I'm at a car wash. Ended up getting a toasted croissant w/ jam and a Cafe Mocha. They seemed a little confused when I wanted it to go. The croissant was very good but the mocha was just eh. A little weak and sweat for my liking but ok. Sine it's on the way to work I'd definitely stop in for a house coffee and a pastry again. Maybe try a breakfast sandwich.

We stopped for something quick on the way out of town and had a blast. The food was fantastic!! I had the Irish delight crepe (caramelized apples and brie) but I had them switch the Brie for granola to reduce the amount of dairy I was eating. I thought it was amazing!! My boyfriend had farms had the farms (eggs, ham, and some sort of gravy). That was also good. The only complaint with the whole thing was they gave him some greens and a slice of tomato and the tomato was an awful grainy one. If the tomato quality was that bad they would have a better dish just leaving the tomato out. I think they should try some grape tomatoes if they want the color on the plate. They taste better and stay good longer. It had a nice vibe. Slightly rustic feeling. Watching the giraffes poke their heads over the fence across the street was nice to. We walked over to the zoo after for that reason. They don't do crepes to go or I would have had them roll one up for me. They were that good.

I just visited for the first time today. It's a charming little place, the decor has a rustic bohemian vibe to it. After perusing the menu, I wished there were more vegetarian options as far as savory crepes go. I know that I can request something without meat but it was a bit surprising that they didn't have anything without. The coffee was really good--better than spot. I never really liked spots house coffee for some reason. too bitter? Anywho, my boyfriend and I just tried a crepe each. I the "After-glow" which consists of Fresh lemon curd, kiwi w/fresh whipped cream. They didn't have any Kiwi and instead of getting lemon curd the whipped cream was lemon flavored. I am confused? what was going on here? So they gave me berries and the crepes were maple in flavor. Overall it was good but not what I really wanted to order. I sampled some of my boyfriends "Hippie-Hippie Shake w/out Turkey or Bacon" It was pretty good; but alas wishing there were more veggie options. How about a mozzarella, tomato basil crepe? That's a little something for everyone ;)

Okay place. Nice atmosphere, but their pastries and baked goods are... pretty horrible.

I like this coffee.. But, there's no parking lot. So, you may get a ticket if you park just nearby road.

I used to visit Sweetness 7's Grant street location but this one is a bit closer to home. Located across from the main entrance to the Buffalo Zoo it's a great place to get some quiet work done or, sometimes, to enjoy lively conversation. The décor is an anachronism of the 60's with mismatched rickety tables, worn walls and floors and repurposed furniture. But it has nice open space and great light coming from the windows.. The kitchen and counter space is miniscule but the staff gets the job done - timely and with a smile. The menu may be limited (about a dozen items), but they have a good crepe selection as well as some hearty dishes if you prefer. I had the "Celtic Love Spell"; crepes served with Nutella and whipped cream. A good sized mug of coffee for a couple of bucks and it was a great brunch for me. There's also a supply of baked goods (I like the Pumpkin cinnamon muffins), hot chocolates, latte's and more. Well worth my time to explore their menu.

(4)John J.

A real find, unfortunately the building is for sale. Try the multicolored cupcakes.
(4)Tim S.

(4)Rebecca H.
(4)Chris K.
The crepes are very good as well as the coffee. The place is small and cozy and everyone was pleasant. Its a place where you feal like a regular as soon as you walk in. What a gem!

Delicious brunch! My lovely wife & I split a savory & a sweet crepe together on the patio. Very fresh & authentic! Highly recommended. :)

(4)Maria M.
I would defiantly come back again, but not frequently it's pretty pricey also just the 2 of us with 2 crepes and 2 chai teas our bill was over $30.00
(3)Robert C.
(4)Bradley A.

(2)Nate P.

Hipster attitude aside (really? You live in Buffalo), the food and coffee were good. Nice atmosphere to relax.
