Had bkfst and dinner here. Bkfst was excellent. The waiter recommended the pancakes and he didn't steer us wrong. Dinner was decent, but a bit pricey. My main complaint is short staffing. It took us 2 1/2 hrs to get out and we weren't trying to have a leisurely meal. Found out our waiter was delivering room service trays too. Recommend bkfst not dinner. Bad management.

We had a four star experience at the 1060 restaurant due to the: 1) pleasant food 2) kind staff 3) fair prices 4) relaxed atmosphere We ordered the Chicken Penne Pasta for $17 and the Grilled Flank Steak Salad for $13. The penne dish has an earthy/mushroom-y type of sauce and since I am a huge fan of mushrooms, I absolutely loved the dish, but I think that you might not realize how mushroom-focused the dish is when reading the menu. The presentation was great though and the flavors were well balanced. The steak salad wasn't very impressive, it was about 85% iceberg lettuce, with some steak, tomatoes, and peppers on top. We may have not done the best job of mixing the salad, but we left about 1/3 of the lettuce there when we left. The atmosphere was great and with comfy couches and a big TV, it was a great place to hang out. However, the TV seemed to be receiving a poor quality feed. In general, I would come back to hang out for drinks with friends anytime.

1060 is one of the area's finest dining experiences. Located at the foot of the University Hill, the Genessee Grande Hotel serves as one of the area's nicest hotels. When you walk in, you're welcomed by an expansive lobby boasts the character of a well appointed 1920s hotel, featuring modern expressions. When we were seated, we were ushered through a dark, lush room with a bar, to a long, dimly-lit dining room, with furnishings and decor ripped from 1920s film noir. We had a small table for two on a long engrossing booth along the interior wall. I found the food to be bold, flavorful, and quality. The beer-battered fish and chips was my selection. A textured cornmeal batter was generously applied to a premium cut of fish. My girlfriend ordered the chicken chardonnay, which delicately balanced the ingredients of its name-sake; tender to the fork. For dessert, we ordered the peanut butter chocolate tart. The chocolate cap and Oreo bottom perfectly accented the creamy, rich peanut butter filling. Throughout the courses, I found the portions to be sizable. Our waitress was efficient, and the food was delivered quickly (though there wasn't much of a crowd). Ultimately, we found our meal to be well worth the moderate menu prices. While the atmosphere feels upscale, it isn't so fancy so as to feel stuffy. All in all, this makes 1060 a great option for when you want to treat yourself, but be comfortable, too.

My wife brought me here for my birthday. Although there is a car park, we had to park on a side street. Too small by far. The restaurant is reached by walking through another smaller bar type room which was a bit tacky. We started with the crab cakes which were excellent. Then it went downhill. The osso buco was so salty it was almost inedible and it was only the fact I was my wifes guest that stopped me sending it back. i was left with an awful taste in my mouth which put me off dessert. it's also dark and dingy so you really can't see what you're eating. you enter and leave through cheap looking hotel corridors which sets the tone for mediocrity which unfortunately describes the whole experience and makes it way over priced. I wouldn't recommend or return

Chocolate chip pancakes is all I can say. They make the best chocolate chip pancake I've ever eaten because it's light and fluffy with just the right amount of chocolate chips to not be overwhelming. Oh how I dream of you Chocolate Chip pancakes....

Wow! Came for drinks last night and then breakfast this morning. The service is excellent (shout out for Ryan!). The food is even better. I had the waffles and my wife had the bacon and egg tart. The waffle was great but the tart was phenomenal. Highly recommend this place (for breakfast at least).

Food was fine - nothing special but not bad. But considering the price (dinner menu) it was WAY over priced. Pasta was obviously pre-cooked and just microwaved and was rubbery and over-sauced. The drinks however were reasonable and the wine list surprisingly good. But $32 for steak is NYC high end prices, I doubt this place measures up if their pasta is any indication. I think they spent most of their money on the lobby. Hoping they'll be cheaper for breakfast tomorrow as there aren't many options within walking distance... It's a very typical "What-you-imagine-a-fancy-dinner-to-be" anywhere outside a major metropolitan center - filet mignon, a tuna dish, a shrimp dish, etc... Uninspiring but totally edible and service was great and friendly - though they were showing a hockey game and the bro-tasterone factor was a bit high for my comfort level - especially whilst trying to eat. Hockey? Seriously? What is it, 1988?

My friend and I visited the Inn for a drink or two last week and had a WONDERFUL experience. The ambiance was classy yet cozy. Patty was our bartender and I has the blueberry pomegranate cocktail. I made a comment on how sweet it would be with the 7up and Patty made it with club soda instead. It was SO refreshing and the club soda definitely took away the immense sweetness. Patty was incredibly personable and attentive. I would give this place two thumbs up not only because it was warm, cozy and beautiful but the customer service was exceptional. I was constantly greeted with genuine smiles and everyone was incredibly accommodating. The next time I am in Syracuse I will be visiting. THANK YOU!

Conveniently located in hotel, the food was a bit below average. The crab cakes were quite tasty but the salad was a disappointment. Service was okay. If your hungry and not wanting to leave the hotel, it's an option. I would just lower your expectations.

I ate here recently and was really impressed. The service was great. On the advice of other people on Yelp, I started with the blueberry pomegranate cocktail, which was excellent. I had the steak salad for dinner - I think it was supposed to be an appetizer but it was definitely entree sized. I will definitely come back here.

My husband and I ate here with a Living Social this weekend. The Living Social made this restaurant completely worth it! Overall the service was very good although the food did take a while to come out. We figured this was due to the wedding reception happening at the same time. The food and menu options were typical of a higher-end American restaurant, although we didn't find anything too spectacular about the food. The price was a bit high, but I would say typical of similar restaurants. It was nothing too special, but much better than the 2.5 stars it currently has on Yelp.

Had the French onion soup and a steak salad. Both were good. The onion soup was a little on the sweet side but it was tasty. The salad was nice and crunchy and it tasted fresh. Nothing out of the ordinary but not terrible. The waitress was attentive and the restaurant was clean. Typical of a hotel restaurant but with the wine list they have it should be much more special.

My family and I are staying at the Genesee Grande Hotel and this morning, my toddler and I had breakfast at 1060. It was suprisingly delicious. The waiter brought my drip coffee right away and it was really good. No bitter after taste here. The frittata my waiter recommended was delicious. I ordered french toast for my kid and that was also very well done. All in all, for a hotel restaurant, it is one of the best restaurant's I've experienced and the service was done with a smile.

The ambiance and service was fairly good. We received our food quickly and the waiter came around several times to make sure everything was good. The artichoke dip appetizer was very delicious with home-made pita chips. However, the main courses were not so good. My girlfriend got the surf and turf, with the steak being burned on the outside. I ordered the scallops with couscous. The couscous was drenched in either butter or oil, and was very heavy. We ordered the Creme Brulee for dessert to share and that was actually fairly good. Overall, for the price I would not go back there, as it cost $100 dollars for two. But for a nice romantic setting the place has some options that are decent.

Was looking forward to a lovely meal, but they did not deliver. Fish tasted frozen, calmari dry, service slow. Nice presentation however, but will not return for dinner. Breakfast seems to be their strong suit.
