The food here was good---all the "classics" are here, the Chicken French is an excellent version, and I really liked their red sauce, very fresh tasting with a nice acid-sweet balance, I found the shrimp scampi a little too heavy and oily for my taste, but that could be personal bias. Atmosphere is dated for sure, not much in the way of ambiance, but there is a certain old school charm, it reminds me of places my family would go to when I was a kid! It seemed like many of the patrons were "regulars" and seemed to be enjoying their meals. Service was extremely gracious and efficient, delicious bread for the table, water/beverages filled regularly.

No wait at 6pm on a Saturday, which is usually a sign. I had Spaghetti Decasa. Not bad, but not special... A little generic and found two Bay leaves in my meal. Ew. Husband had Chicken French. Tasted good, but sauce was a little too thick and rich. Weren't very good about filling waters, either. Wouldn't hurry back.

I get the same thing every time I come here and it is called seafood Asiago, it is simply to die for. Unfortunately it is not on the regular menu it only comes as a special. It used to come with soup and salad but now only comes with either or. That's how most of their dishes are now, you get a choice of one when it used to be two. The Italian Wedding soup is great, I love to put some parmesan in it too. Their italian wedding meatballs are the best. Their side salad is large and comes chickpeas. I suggest the balsamic vinegar with crumbly blue or the lemon vinaigrette with cheese in it as well. They give you bread in the beginning which is very warm and perfectly soft in the middle and crunchy on the outside. I love warm bread! Now back to the seafood Asiago. It is filled with shrimp, scallops, artichokes, tomatoes, basil and a sauce that is incredibly tasty. I believe it's a mix of tomato sauce and white sauce, it is indescribable you have to try it for yourself! I can't say enough about this particular dish. They need to put it on the menu for good! This is the reason we keep coming back.

What a find! Six of us had a marvelous dinner tonight- Saturday. We made a reservation and had a spacious table. Our waiter, Joshua, was terrific. We had many questions about the extensive menu which he patiently answered, even checking with the kitchen to be sure. One member of our party had dietary needs. Our meals were great! Their bread is scrumptious- crispy crust with densely delicious slices. They had four house dressings plus the basic choices for salads. We all enjoyed our meals which included eggplant, gnocchi, seafood and chicken dishes. House chianti was good. We were pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews. The owner came by our table twice to make sure we were happy. There seemed to be many regulars- always a good sign. We will be back for sure to sample more menu items! Prices were more than reasonable. We all left with leftovers!

alright so I've been here now a few times and have always thought the place was okay, nothing special but the food has been alright. The last time I went for my sisters birthday, it was terrible. Every person in our family had something they didn't like about their dish. From past experiences I've never had a problem but idk what was going on in the back on this particular day but hopefully they've fixed it because it was a total let down.

With my grandmother visiting, I suggested we try Valicias since I was in the mood for Italian and this place was the closest around. Naturally, I was excited for a great authentic Italian taste of food, which I am glad to say that Valicia's did deliver. The building itself looks to be a converted residential house...thus, making the place look more like a traditional home rather then a restaurant. The décor showed to be a bit subtle, not much modern at all and is more leaning towards a quaint look in my opinion. However, the bathrooms...are....SMALL. So small in fact, I couldn't get myself through the door all the way, and I only weight 145! It doesn't help that they appear to be the only restrooms since a little line was beginning to form in the lobby. Service-wise, it was a bit hectic for the poor wait staff since there were a lot of people there that night, but they stayed positive and were happy to bring out all the water and bread that we ever needed. The complimentary bread tasted just right, to the point where I had to stop myself from eating it all before my meal came. I had originally wanted the penne pasta with garlic and oil, but I went to the chicken parm since it came with penne anyway with a side salad. Didn't take long at all for the food to come out but the salad came first before the actual meal...a bit strange for me but it was welcome. I despise dressing so I ate it plain with lettuce and croutons, avoiding the olives and chickpeas that were hidden in the salad (I don't like them very much). A few minutes later, the food arrived...sides and all. I'll say one thing about my chicken, it was b...I...g. It was a little too large for my tastes but because the temperature was just right (slightly warm-hot) and the sauce was delicious, I ate most to all of it along with the pasta on the side. I think I consumed about ten glasses of water then entire time to keep me stomach in control from all the food I was eating. Nevertheless, my family and I left all content and satisfied...ready to come back when the time arrives.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Valicia's since we have been there for parties, banquets, and frequent dinners. For the group events, they provide a good buffet at reasonable prices, but for large groups they don't do sit-down dinners. Particularly good on the buffet is the Italian roast chicken, chicken parm, sausage with peppers and onions, and eggplant parm (not all at the same time). Prime rib is served pre-sliced thin and although tasty is not carved at the buffet. Salad, pasta, potatoes, green and beans are all good. A particularly good option for alcohol is that a wine and beer bar can be set up in the party room for self-service and the cost is only based on what is consumed. Smarter for groups that don't drink a lot vs. open bar. Dinners have always been above average. Be it prime rib, veal or chicken parm, or my favorite chicken or veal saltimbocca are plentiful portions and well-prepared. You get soup or salad, pasta or potato, and vegetable with most entrees. I prefer escarole to pasta, which is $2 up-charge with some meals, but worth it. Only disappointment in many years was a holiday buffet where the food was not kept hot and fresh-looking. Other than that one instance, service and quality has been great probably due to the host/owner always being there to insure success.

I had a business dinner with a coworker at this restaurant. As we walked in ceiling is a very low looks like a home residence that has been converted , restaurant. I ordered a salad to start which was filled with fresh lettuce veggies and a very tasty vinaigrette dressing. I order surf and turf which was underwhelming, The presentation was average 1 of 2 filet medallions were over cooked , my baked potato was small dry and over cooked, The butter was tasteless and actually made it worse. Lobster tail very good and prepared perfectly. I also had an appetizer of Sautéed calamari, A pleasant surprise very good presentation and a zesty taste. We did not order dessert. The restaurant the decor was outdated bland and somewhat dull. The hostess who also doubled as our table server did a superb job. She has a great attitude

The decor is a little dated, but the food and service is always good. I have had numerous dishes and I am always happy. The chicken parmigiana is on point, as is the chicken French. Any if the pasta dishes are always great as well. I highly recommend the seafood Bianco.

Every time we are in town we make sure we stop in. Anything on the menu that is french is excellent along with the greens and beans. We also have used their private rooms many times and have never had a problem. Always had enough food and the service is great.

Not a fan. The food was just OK, about as good as the Olive Garden. Their wine selection was terrible, as seems to be the norm in most Western New York Restaurants. White, Pink, or Red seems to be a good selection to these locals.

Not a bad Italian joint but nothing to write home about either. Meat sauce was very good but came on top of tough, overcooked chicken, and soft, overlooked pasta. The Manicotti was overlooked and soft as well. The decor is very old and dated but the staff was friendly and the prices were decent. So I suppose it was ok, but it won't be a place I'll return to.

Your mileage may vary with this establishment, but I can't give it any less than 5 stars, as will be explained below. Two of my coworkers and I stopped by this Ristorante as a random pick a few nights ago. Valicia's is a nice, spacious place, with plenty of seating and a friendly wait staff. The service was fast, and the food came out great. As an appetizer the table split mozzarella garlic bread, which seemed to have more cheese than garlic to me, but my 2 coworkers enjoyed. The main course is what "did it" for me. I ordered the shrimp fra diavolo, which was so good I would never be able to try another dish from this establishment because I'd just keep ordering the same thing every time I went. The shrimp were huge and perfectly cooked and seasoned, the pasta was just the slightest bit al-dente, and the sauce... well... When I was just a young lad, my father would take me over my grandma's house in Brooklyn. All day long she would be in the kitchen, cooking and making gravy (calling it sauce would get you a slap in the back of the head), seasoning everything to absolute perfection. And that's what Valicia's has. Tomato sauce that is exactly like my grandma used to make. My meal instantly turned into a comfort food feast and brought back memories that kept me warm the rest of the night, even though it was below freezing the whole time.

Alright Italian on the West Side of Rochester. Nothing terrible, but nothing to write to nonna about. Portions are huge, if thats your thing, and everything was fresh. I tried several seafood dishes, including the "calamari sicilian" which was mostly regular fried calamari drenched in asiago, a lemon sauce and sliced banana peppers. Good, but it could've been a lot-less saucy and been excellent. Most of the food here is like that; traditional Italian-American: heavily sauced, a bit too much not-al-dente pasta and not enough focus on the balances that can make modern or trad Italian so outstanding. I was here for a wedding rehearsal dinner party. The service was good, attentive and fast, and they didn't make any mistakes with the 19 people in our party. Plus they have separate "rooms" for parties to sequester themselves in. Honestly, I was happy to be in a private party while here, as the regular dining room looked like a 70s throwback, with too-bright lighting to match. While I can't see myself going back, for anyone who misses late-century commercial Italo-American cuisine, it is quite ample (and fresh) here.
