Drug and Drink hang out. So damn over priced you need to an 3 months in advance to go here. They are just an over priced watering hole for the snobby locals and young people that drink too much

I was in Brookhaven for business recently and needed somewhere to go with a customer besides Ruby Tuesday. Painters came up as nearby via the trusty Yelp app. It was moderately rated, but we decided to give the place a shot. We were there for lunch, and there was nobody at the host stand, so we seated ourselves at the bar and were greeted quickly and given menus. I was immediately impressed by the variety of offerings, and because I wanted something halfway light, chose the Tuna Sushi Salad. It was one of the better salads I've had in a long time. The greens were fresh and crunchy, the avacados fresh, the salad dressing was soy sauce influenced and there was just a touch of ginger, which is perfect as far as I'm concerned. On the edges of the plate were some fried wonton triangles with slim slices of sushi tuna and a little wasabi drizzle. Absolutely fantastic. I did opt for the dessert and had the cinnamon sugar zeppole stuffed with rice pudding and served with a very thick whipped cream and a trio of dipping sauces. It, too, was amazing. Glad we made the trip here, and I will definitley be back next time I'm in Brookhaven for lunch. The young lady on duty was very friendly and attentive. The only thing I'd change is the temperature, I found it a little cool even though it was a windy, rainy, wintry day. If I'd been able to walk into a warm environment, that would have been a plus.

My review is just based on happy hour and late night visits...I have never had a real meal there. Apps/snacky foods are good. Very large drink selection from beer to wine to liquor. Great happy hour, just about everything is half price during the week until 7 p.m. Plus, they have Pacifico which is not easy to find around here.

i dig painters for the vibe, the relaxed atmosphere, their varied menu and cocktail selection. you'll definitely find something you like. but, choose carefully. the french onion soup and tuna wontons are always reliable as is the carbonara, but two people from my party ordered the iron skillet roasted chicken and were underwhelmed. what happened to the chicken piccata with the cappellini cake? we tried a new dessert too. the rice pudding zeppoles weren't a hit. i would've preferred a regular zeppole. the dipping sauces could have been better too. actually, skip that dessert entirely and have the banana chimichanga, i remember that being good.

Went here for a friends birthday dinner. Food was very good, fun atmosphere. Nacho appetizer was very good, as was the skirt steak entree.

My family and I went to this restaurant earlier this summer and we had an excellent time. The food was great, the environment was very relaxed and creative and the staff was super friendly! The food we ordered was absolutely spectacular, and my daughter highly recommends the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. We had an overall great experience and will be coming back soon!

Just left having lunch there with my man and our three kids. My Cobb salad wasn't made with chicken breast but thigh meat - which wouldn't have been terrible had there not also been a huge chunk of chicken skin and fat mixed in with the salad. Both lunch today and dinner two nights ago had slow service. We had a great server the other night but we got the impression she was overseeing everyone else's tables, as well. Kind of mediocre but has so much potential to be awesome.

want a great meal, here is the place. it's all the stuff you dont cook at home. probably one of the best places around. staff is always great, clean place. you can see the pass which is always cool. bring the kids as this place is super kid friendly and they can draw on the paper covered tables. plenty of parking.

Nice atmosphere - naturally the walls are overwhelmed with paintings of all kinds- it's a loud place with a hoppin bar and is kid friendly. I've had some good and interesting burgers here (all named after famous painters of course). It's a good place to go for sure. I haven't been blown away with any entrees, but it's a fun place and I haven't had any bad experiences here. I've eaten at Painter's 4-5 times now, usually with the kids.

Had a great time, loved the vibe of the feel of the place. Went with 10 people and and the service was smooth. I have been back twice and have not been disappointed.

This is my go to place when I want to be surrounded by old friends and stay close to home while having a few beers and hopefully some delicious food if my pockets allow it at the time, lol. I'm not a fan of rock music though so on those nights I do try to avoid Painters, nothing against them because I know those bands are great and draw a large crowd, just not my thing. However I do enjoy it when there is a DJ playing different genres of music. I don't even mind listening to rock on these nights because I know at some point it'll change over. I came here after my bachelorette party and partied like it was 1999 to the band Somethin Fresh. This is also a place I feel safe when I decide to do some heavy drinking as I do know most of the staff and patrons and know I can always find a ride home if need be. I know that whether I visit Painters with my husband, friends or even by myself, I'm having a good time. The food is absolutely delicious! I love their nachos and the wonton tuna sashimi. This place truly feels like home. The atmosphere is artsy and laid back but also classy. See you guys tomorrow actually for your one year anniversary of re-opening celebration! =)

This place was a regular favorite for eating out but since they reopened I've tried it 3x, with each time vowing never return.....but I relented and attended a birthday celebration, my 4th painters encounter.......Was anything improved from previous visits? Absolutely not, in fact they've gotten worse!!! I braced myself for lousy food by ordering a cheeseburger from their menu wrongfully assuming that they could at least do a halfway decent burger platter...boy was I wrong!!!!!!! After a more than annoying wait for the entrees, my "cheeseburger" arrived; it was on a rock hard kaiser roll supporting a burger that made a hockey puck look appetizing...what the f-ck happened to this place? The service was always spotty but the food and atmosphere more than made up for its shortcomings....I will never grace this establishment with my presence again unless some radical changes are made...the last time was truly horrible if not borderline insanity.....

I've been here numerous times in the past 5-6 years and I always loved the art and decor. The exposed piping and miss matched tables and chairs gives it a very relaxed and rustic vibe. The beer selection is top notch and extremely varied ( finding mcsoreleys on tap is a god send this far out east). Didn't try the food but it seemed a little overpriced for even "pub grub" appetizers, and the bartenders could be more attentive... Even when I'm 1 of the 3 patrons at the bar. Overall it's great to have a change in atmosphere comparable to all patchogue bars.

Excellent food. Love the vibe here. You drink out of glass jars and can draw all over the table with crayons. The staff is really friendly and the place is absolutely huge. I've only been here for dinner, never for a Friday or Saturday night, so I would like to in order to experience the bar vibe. Only thing that really bothered me one time was how loud it was. It's a nice restaurant that's separated from all of the towns nearby, so it has a very special and unique feel to it. Will be back soon!

I've eaten about five or six times at Painter's. I like this place, but I want to LOVE this place. Alas, the powers that be just won't let me. I love the rustic vibe - the brown paper tablecloth (can't go wrong with crayons!) and all the art hanging on the walls, despite its cavernous and loud main room make for an inviting atmosphere. Plus, local Blue Point beers? Sign me up! The service is TERRIBLE. One, maybe two wait staff were working the main room at dinner tonight. (Granted, it's a Wednesday evening, but it was PACKED and that's no excuse!) We tried to ask our waitress for bread, but it didn't come until the meal. I asked for a glass of Pinot Noir with dinner, never got it AND it was on the bill! That's a big no-no. The food? DELICIOUS! The long-awaited bread is served with garlic butter nestled inside the loaf. My mom had ribs that almost fell off the bone, while my dad had Rocco's Shrimp. The pasta was cooked in a delightful lemon sauce. I had the chicken piccata, which was also in a lovely lemon sauce. Absolutely delicious! I've never had a bad meal at Painters'. I just wish it was run and managed in a more efficient manner!

I had been here at least twice for drinks but never ate here until yesterday for brunch. My friend who lives in Brookhaven suggested a few other places, but I'm glad we didn't listen. I'll preface the rest of this review by issuing this mandate: If you go here for brunch, you MUST try the fresh squeeze OJ. It's worth every penny of the $4.50 they charge per mason jar. For food, I went with the huevos rancheros and absolutely loved it. The avocado was fresh and the combination of the 3 bean chili, crispy corn tortilla and country style potatoes was like a fiesta in my boca. The chocolate chip pancakes were drier than the Sahara, no matter how much syrup or nearly frozen butter we applied. The french toast, however, did not suffer the same symptom. I didn't try the burrito, but that also looked dry. The stars of this particular experience were hands down the huevos ranchero, the ambience and the service. For that reason, I'm going with 4 stars. Plus I do recall this place being a good time for the night lift. Other: -Our server, Leilani (spelling?) was very pleasant. -The coffee is good and Leilani was just as good about coming around to warm-up my cup. -The ambience is very cool. Take some time to check out all the paintings since you are, after all, in a place called "Painters'" -Also check out all the pennies glued to the bar. They should have a contest similar to "guess how many M&Ms are in the jar." -They have about 4 picnic benches for outdoor dining. -The plumbing in the bathrooms sucks.

I love Painters'!! The vibe is so relaxed and chill once you enter the doors. I love how all of the tables, chairs, glasses, silverware, etc. are all different so when you go with a table of 4, it's neat looking (not if you have OCD, of course). I feel like when they recently opened up again the food got better. I've been here a handful of times since then and have never left dissapointed. Some favorites of mine to order here is the seared Ahi tuna, anything involving lamb, and the steaks are always super good. I've also had the crab cakes and a couple other appitizers that were good. Although they are a little on the pricey side, that's what you pay for this kinda of a resturant. Besides the food, they have GOOD beer!! Craft beer is always on tap and they have a good selection. They also feature new beer flights now so you can get a little taste of everything. I'm SO looking forward to going here for Valentine's Day dinner! Yum!

Came recently for lunch. Husband got the burger & I got the pulled pork sandwich with fried onions & jalepeno's on top. The pork tasted great & it wasn't drowned in sauce, I can't stand when places do that. Got the sweet potato fries on the side, those were excellent as well. Husband enjoyed his burger but he ordered the marinated burger and instead he was given the regular burger, at that point he was starving so we didn't send it back. He was disappointed. Aside from the burger mix up we enjoyed everything & look forward to coming back soon.

Went to Painters last night with my fiancé and had a pretty good time. We ordered a flight of beer each which was great. Buffalo wings for an appetizer to split, which were very tasty and pretty good size. They also served us a bread loaf with butter baked inside of it which was very tasty. I ordered the Andy Warhol and my fiancé ordered a regular burger. The Warhol had a seasoned burger and jumbo sized shrimp on it, which id never tried before and was excellent. It was cooked nicely. Came with fries which were above average, pretty good. Our server was polite and friendly, but the staff was very busy. We waited a very long time for our food, the wings came quickly but our burgers probably weren't out until almost an hour after that, which is sort of a long time to wait. The room we were seated in was a little obnoxious. There were two birthday parties with screaming kids running around which was annoying. It was pretty impossible to have a conversation at a reasonable volume. There was also a woman doing balloon animals and whatnot, and the kids were popping them and stuff, which added to the obnoxious factor. I felt bad for the balloon lady she looked like she was working very hard. The only other issue I had was with the music. I love live music and have played myself so I'm usually sympathetic towards the performer, but whatever was playing that night was pretty bad. The guy transposed well known songs (mostly from the 90s) down to their barest simplicity, (like two chords) and then banged them out on an acoustic guitar that was played on speakers throughout the restaurant. I think we heard sweet home Alabama and smells like teen spirit twice each. We were relieved when it was over for the night, as it was giving us both a head ache and contributing to our inability to have a conversation at a reasonable volume. The song selections were fine it just sounded like the guy had recently learned how to play and it came off more annoying than anything while we were trying to eat. After we ate we decided to have a drink at the bar, which was cool. There were lots of middle aged folks on the dance floor and some younger people around the bar. Lots of beer selections and the bartenders were very knowledgeable and friendly. The ambiance was awesome, so much art to look at! In summary: Great food, great environment, friendly staff. Downsides: wait for our food was long, the music was painfully annoying, and when a couple makes a reservation for two for dinner at 8 PM it'd be nice not to be seated next to what felt and sounded like Chuck-E-Cheese.

Review long overdue. Favorite restaurant by far. Since new owner food has seriously improved. Love the wait staff, always super friendly. Fri night magician and balloon lady are great for kids. My son is 4.5 and always asks to go to Painters. Whenever friends from the city come to visit we take them there. The décor/atmosphere is what really makes it so appealing to me. It would be a shame to come to this area and miss out on a meal at Painters.

This is our Sunday morning brunch place. Everyone in the family has their favorite dish and we always have a wonderful meal. Grandkids love the crayons on the table top, often requesting to cut their drawing out and take it home. Relaxed atmosphere, very friendly staff, prices are a bit high, but good food and comfortable place close to home...so worth it. We go almost every Sunday. The only reason for the four stars...it's always cold in the room...but that's fixable with a sweater...for all the older ladies out there...it's a great place. We love it! D Canellis - Bellport

Almost always very good! Good space, open site lines, lots of artwork and good crowd make it fun. The menu is big with lots of choices, maybe too many, but I have been going for years and can tell you some of my go to favorites. For appetizers the sashimi tuna on wontons are delicious with an Asian slaw and wasabi cream sauce, the calamari is perfectly done, tender and not rubbery at all with a nice aioli that makes it terrific. The garlic mussels were always my son's favorite. As far as entrees the tuna, steak, simple pasta and carbonara are all solid, the burgers are great and the sweet potato fries are good too! We have a couple of specials on a recent visit and they were good too,(striped bass, porterhouse steak)! The staff seems to be pretty good, the bar staff as well. There is a good selection of beers and liquors too. The place has changed since it was closed for a fire, I think, but they renovated the bathrooms and some of the main spaces too, have a music stage now and the bands are generally good and make it a fun place to hang out after 10 pm too. Seems to be a totally different crew, but have been several times since the reopening and while there have been changes to the menu, most of the previous items are still there and the experience has been pretty strong.

My Husband and I decided to go Painter's for New Year's Eve dinner. He is on crutches so we decided to make an early reservation for 5:00 pm. We arrived at 4:30 and they seated us early at the smallest table in the place and really close to the couple next to us. We asked if we could move to a larger table ,but were told that the place was booked. There were only 4 tables full at the time. We ordered the Tomato soup which was a special on the Menu. Our soup was cold when it came to the table . They brought our appetizers at the same time which were barely warm. The table was so crowded will all the food , bread ,crayons that we could barely move .Our waitress asked how everything was but didn't wait for an answer and she was gone. Hanging out in the back with most of the staff. My entrée came, The scallops. which were once again cold and undercooked. I was so disappointed but wanted to have a nice dinner. Tried to make the best of the horrible dinner and got dessert that I shared with my Husband. The only good thing of the night. On the way home , I started getting severe stomach pains and spent my night vomiting. Just wanted to Thank the staff and Chefs at Painter's for the worst New Year's Eve ever. After spending over $150 dollars we expected so much better. We will never be returning to this restaurant!

Went here for my birthday last night after hearing such awesome things about it!! Was definitely not disappointed. I got one of the burgers- the Frieda Kahlo Caliente, and was so impressed. The burger was so flavorful, and was HUGE. My family enjoyed their entrees as well, everything looked delicious. Would definitely love to go back!

I give it a 1 only because the water was good. We got there early tonight, Saturday, and they put us next to the bar on a high top by the doors. It is cold and busy at that spot so we asked to move. They said no, it will get busy. There were about 10 open tables! When we left there were still 5 open tables by us. So far rude. So we suck it up and get water (water really good) and bread. I was happy because I love bread and butter. It was horrible, none of us ate it. How do you mess up bread and butter. We were served our food. The waitress was very nice. I had a burger and a bun the size of two burgers. The bread, once again, was not good and I ate the burger with a fork. I'm a guy, I like eating with my hands. My fiance had a pizza, a very small sad one? WTF, I had food here years ago and was excited to go back. Never again. My fiance daughter has a stomach ache and I wasted $45 on two burgers, a small pizza and water. Please don't waste your time on overpriced lousy food. If you want to see a band then eat anywhere else and go see the band.

one of our favorite local restaurants. Food is good, atmosphere is good. most of the servers are friendly. lately the service has been terrible. lots of mistakes and long waits for food which sometimes comes out cold. hoping they get it together again! Also.. they people who do balloons and card tricks should ASK if you want their entertainment (as opposed to forcing it on you and expecting a tip). Sometimes you are engrossed in your conversation and prefer not to see the same card trick you saw last weekend ; )

Let me start by saying..my family, friends & I USE TO LOVE Painters..BUT we will NEVER GO BACK AGAIN! The supposed "owner" Deanna is NASTY and Argumentative. And here is the reason why: I call Painters to plan ahead for a 15th Birthday dinner for my youngest daughter and her 7girlfriends...my 2 other daughters and their boyfriends..totaling 12 people ...My husband & myself ..14 total and possibly my mother who is away on vacation and can't confirm.. So, I call and try to make reservations for 14 or 15 people total..Deanna (the supposed owner) says for 15 people WE MUST ORDER OFF OF A PRICE FIXED MENU ..for $35 per person..which was not my concern BUT she says it includes soup salad and ONLY 2 CHOICES FOR DINNER...(need I go any further) for $35 per person ..possibly spending $600 for a hour long dinner, i would have liked the kids to choose their meal..(crazy me) that wasn't allowed...under any circumstance..she said it was too difficult for the chefs and staff. I say to her, my daughter has her heart set on eating at your resturant so I guess I am going to just have to split us up (me, my husband & my mother) and the girls and boyfriends can sit together.. she says thats ok and then 10 minutes later calls me back to say..... her and the other owners discussed it and they can't allow that.... because we know you are all coming in together...(I wasn't trying to be sneaking..but just honest) I wouldn't waste my time going into Painters and dining at their resturant simply because I don't think they want your business or mine! (based on the nasty attitude and bullying tactic) I have always enjoyed their food and atmosphere but it's not worth the treatment I received.

Good service. Good bread and butter which is rare to mention but true. Nice decor and overall theme of the restaurant although it's questionable if it perfectly matches the menu pricing. It certainly did not match the mediocre hip-hop-esque soundtrack pumped into the dining room, that's for sure. So it's a bit of an odd juxtaposition. I enjoyed my soup which is always a plus. I don't mind waiting a bit for food either but it was a solid hour before our entrees came out, even though we did not order that much relatively. Burger was unfortunately on the well-done side with the try-too-hard cliche of making the patty and bun ridiculous in size. No juiciness to it. Not horrible but certainly not worth the wait. I can't judge the entirety of the restaurant on a single burger, so 3/5 from me. I may come back, I may not. I'd certainly avoid a fri/sat night if you are concerned with timing though.

I love this place! I've been here twice now and I have enjoyed my experience both times. When you sit down, there is a large paper with crayons where you can draw (in my case, terribly) to your heart's content. As for food, each time I ordered the apple and brie salad and put chicken on top (afraid of change), and it was delicious, although I think the second time I was given a smaller portion. Their vinaigrette is incredibly tasty and sometimes I even crave it! Their cocktails are good, somewhat strong but at least it's worth it. I had a cookies and cream cheesecake and it was fantastic. This is a really rustic, romantic restaurant, and I would suggest anyone in Suffolk County to at least give it a try. I would say it is a little overpriced, and that's why I suggest it would be nice for a date night. It definitely does feel like you're Brooklyn when you take a seat, so maybe you pay a little more for the atmosphere which is fine by me. I didn't know that they do take-out, so I would like to try that next time. Overall, give Painters' a chance, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
