I have been going here twice a year for 10 years. I always get a chicken Cesar salad wrap. This year there has been a change for the worse. My wrap was dry, twice. I was there in January, and I thought maybe it was a fluke, I can't expect something made the same way all the time. I went back last week to have what used to be an awesome wrap and got another dried up chicken wrap with the tinniest bit of dressing, hardly any lettuce, a massive amount of stale tortilla, and where are the croutons? It used to have croutons. This was one of my favorite lunch spots to go to in Warwick after my dental cleanings. Not so much anymore. I miss the old Caffe A La Mode.

The vanilla chais and chai shakes are UNBELIEVABLE. Sure the food is average and the staff of teenage girls are sometimes inattentive, but the chais are worth 10 stars. Their recent expansion and redesign is nice I guess, but I sentimentally miss the old church pews.

Great place for coffees, people watching, and they have a great selection of sandwiches. Chicken salad wrap today was fresh and tasty.

We love this place! They are family friendly, the food is typical American fare, but they have some great specialties, like the Caramel French Toast, the Hobo, and of course the graham cracker coffee.

i'm surprised at the negative statements about the staff.i come here 3-5 times a week from Montvale nj for coffee and bring many friends here .I've always been amazed at how hard these people work and how friendly they are.my friends tell me the food is good and the coffee is amazing.i think the prices for he food is equivalent to any restaurant and the price on the coffee is less by. far than starbucks or paneras.

This is the best cafe in town. They don't just have good coffee. They have an extensive menu for breakfast & lunch - which i heard from locals is tasty & generous. Great Shakes. Friendly speedy service. Plenty of seating. My Happy Ending included Macchiato Mudslide. :)

I'm afraid that I need to downgrade my previous review. I was here a week or two ago and ordered an iced latte. I watched as the girl behind the counter took out a bottle of "espresso" from the fridge below and poured it into my cup. No fresh espresso from the lovely espresso machine they have behind the counter. Something in a bottle. I always wondered why the latte's here were much weaker than most places but I never paid much attention to how they made them. I'm very disappointed but it does explain a lot. Still, the lattes are fine and they do offer a lot for lunch so I continue to come back. I just keep my expectations low for my drink.

A friend recommended Caffe a la Mode as a great place for lunch in Warwick and he was spot on. They have a varied menu but the focus was on healthy selections. I went around 11:30am and it was busy yet there was no pressure as we placed orders. We mentioned we were in somewhat of a hurry and the Chicken Wraps we ordered were delivered quickly and were delicious. The waiters checked on us regularly to see if we needed anything. I would highly recommend this place and I plan on visiting it often.

  • Gabriella K.

Unfortunately not as good as it used to be. Staff changes frequently and some are downright rude, quality is hit or miss. Good place to grab a coffee that isn't a chain coffee shop. The chai is the best, usually always good. I don't recommend much of the food...breakfast used to be a dependable choice but even that has been a little off the past year or so.

Keep coming back. Worth the stop. They have Joe's teas! They add flavors to make basics more interesting.

Been coming here since we moved to Warwick 8 years ago. Have to say it has gone downhill lately. Coffee and food is inconsistent. Sometimes wraps are delicious, fresh and fully stuffed, then the next time they have barely any filling and the wrap is dry and stale. If you get them on a good day you'll get an ok latte or cappucino. Just wish there was better training for the staff and some quality control so that I could depend on a consistently good experience. It used to be one of my favorite places for lunch in town!

Best milk shake I ever had. Service was fast enough but being a cafe/coffee shop and kinda ice cream place had a huge menu to shift though causing a little back up. They have a min for credit card holders so be sure you bring cash for just a cup of coffee.

Hit or miss but truly a lovely group of people! the food sometimes comes out better than other times. Consistency is key when it comes to good eats but the staff is always pleasant! The outside seating is nice during warm weather. Clean bathrooms. Lots of options. Ice cream is delicious! I take my kids here every weekend

I've been to this cafe countless times throughout the years, and every time I go, I'm more and more impressed. The food has gotten significantly better, and the coffee is always great. The staff is very friendly, and the service is surprisingly quick. If you're looking to visit Warwick this is a must stop, you can eat outside; right in the hub of the town. Simply a great location, great food for cheap prices, and incredible service.

  • Taylor B.

They have great wraps and breakfast sandwiches. They also make great coffee and frozen drinks. In the summer, my wife and I love getting the Almond Joy milkshake. The only thing keeping this place from getting 4 or more stars is the service. The service is spotty. Sometimes they're great and very helpful, but other times they lack urgency and care. Other than that it's a nice place to grab a quick meal for breakfast or lunch.

How I heard of this place: Cafe a la Mode was first recommended to us by our new friend, Tracy, who, at Thanksgiving dinner, suggested we stop by to sample their Graham Cracker Coffee. Type of cuisine: Gourmet coffees, desserts, premium ice cream, breakfast and brunch. Ambiance: Walking up to another quaint brick building, we were surprised and happy to see the banner hung over the staircase leading up to the house porch, reading "Caffe ala Mode is excited to welcome its newest addition Ava Elizabeth Torres." Flower baskets hang from either side of the staircase pillars leading up to the large, extended porch. Wrought iron chairs and tables sit at the foot of the stairs and on the porch for the beautiful north-east summer and sunny, crisp fall days. We enter the green door with 12 glass panes on the left (the matching one on the right obstructed by outdoor seating), while peering through the orange-colored lighting in the cafe, through the white, framed windows at either side. The most simple part of the interior space is the rustic hardwood floors, every other inch of space being used for something. The deep yellow walls are covered with chalkboard after chalkboard of menus written in colored chalk. The dark brown counter extends from the front of the store to the back, towards the flower-curtained doorway to the kitchen, all along which can be found ten to twelve carafs of drip coffee in a variety of flavors, including: Mocha Lava, Pumpkin Spice, Graham Cracker, and Cinnamon Cappuccino. Baskets of cups and lids as well as fresh baked muffins ranging from Blueberry to French Vanilla Chip, Double Chocolate, Banana Nut, Apple Streussel, Orange Cranberry, Cinnamon Swirl, Apple Bran, Banana Chocolate Chip, Berry Blast, Red Velvet, Corn Bread, and Pumpkin, to Rocky Road Brownies and Blondies. Just when you thought you had seen it all, directly beyond the register is the array of ice cream flavors, such as: Coconut, Coffee, Vanilla, Rocky Road, Chocolate, Green Mint Chip, Strawberry, Moosetracks, and Cotton Candy. To the right of the entryway, patrons may enjoy the cozy space of wooden tables and chairs, as well as one-sided booth seating against the half-wall between the ordering area and the cafe, with friends or in solitude under the dim lighting. More chalkboards, this time in framed squares, each with six panels (resembling the windows) noting food and dessert options. What I ordered: I chose one scoop of the Caribou Caramel ice cream ($2.31) with mini chocolate covered caramel cups and ooey, gooey caramel swirl. My husband wanted to try the Graham Cracker Coffee, as did I, so he selected a 12-ounce cup ($1.52) and a chocolate chip cookie ($1.70) for dunking. Our host, finding that Caffe A La Mode has the best Chai Tea Lattes he has ever had, selected a 12-ounce ($2.68). What I loved: I think my favorite part of our cafe treat was the Chai Tea Latte. But, a close second was the chocolate chip cookie dipped in caramel ice cream. Why I loved it: Simple. Homey. Young and vibrant. Cost: Low (coffee beverages for $1.50 - $3 per 12-ounce cup)

I got a $5 voucher for this place and I was hungry (as usual) so of course I stopped by. The best thing here is the people & big menu selection. I was told that their wraps are real popular so I asked for the most unhealthy wrap they had. I basically let the guy choose my order from there. It was pretty funny since he's was asking me what I wanted while I asked him what he recommended. While I was waiting I also got to try 2 ice cream flavors there that I'll have to find--birthday cake & cinnamon bun. Oh, and I also got to try one of their whip cream mochaccino latte creations that was pretty good as well. The steak sandwich I got made me think I should've gone with the chicken instead though

Here's the deal... Such a big fan of Caffe A La Mode! Great cafe to enjoy some quiet time by yourself or a group of friends. It's a great place that fits in nicely with main street Warwick. They offer simple food concepts made to order and always very consistent. Love their chips & salsa as a side w/ sandwiches. Great choices of ice cream as well. Whenever I am in Warwick, I stop into Caffee A La Mode.

After giving it another shot, I'll update this review to four stars, as the experience is much improved since the first time. Every now and then it's a little tough to find a server, but we've been back several times in the last few months and have had good coffee/espresso drinks as well as strong breakfast offerings. Sometimes it's just an off day... I've certainly had my share of those. This has now become a semi-regular stop on the weekends.

In town for work and got recommended to check this place out. The staff was super friendly and shared with me what some of their better items were on the menu and when I did order the food came out super quick. I had the bzk way wrap and it was amazing, the mozzarella was really fresh. Great place to eat.

    (5)
  • Brianna L.

The selection is great. Took me so long to choose what I wanted. The setup is cool and different. The wrap I got was delicious and I had my left overs for lunch the next day. Also had a milkshake which was phenomenal. Everything is fresh and very inexpensive which is great

  • Narcisse N.

I go to Caffe a la Mode pretty often during the week and can honestly say this is one of my favorite places in town. I am in love with the flavored coffees, especially the Graham Cracker. The dining room can get a bit noisy especially during times when the high school kids take over, but other than that it's a very chill place to grab a bite to eat. I am gluten sensitive so I really appreciate the fact that they have gluten free bread. Favorite menu items include "The Kitchen Sink" sandwich, the veggie omelette, and the "Sorry Charlie." The cafe uses the walls as gallery space that gets refreshed pretty often, so there is always new art to look at. Outdoor seating in summer months is great.

Well..Cafe a LA mode is back to its terrible hours..closes at 8:59 pm on a Saturday night. The staff cannot WAIT to get out of there and if you arrive at 9:01 they flippantly tell you its closed with an attitude of disgust. I am a regular so I know this particular employee is new. They girls inside are always wonderful. Fall is Warwick's busiest time so I don't get it. Oh well..See you in June cafe ala mode.

  • Ally G.

Food is pretty pricey, but good. It can take awhile to get served during busy times because so many people come in. Good for the occasional lunch or breakfast sandwich, but not always worth the price.

  • Conrad B.

Went there on last Friday for the Open Mic night... 7 - 10pm. Lots of great people and the music was terrific. (Feel free to get up and sing or play whatever you bring!) The place is pretty small... and while we didn't eat a meal there, we did have their Cafe Mudslide dessert which was gone in seconds between the 3 of us. What I did see of the food that was being served around looked very good. Look forward to going back again soon... maybe for more than dessert. If you're going... go early, especially for the "open mic"

  • Paulie R.

Nice selection of wraps, sandwiches, ice cream and coffee. The food is good the table service is bad. They don't accept American Express and they have a $10 min on all credit card and debit card charges. So bring cash if you plan on picking up coffee and breakfast for one.

    (3)
  • J. G.

The staff is poorly trained, and I never see a familiar face. A small, cozy, place like this should have a handful of staff that know your name when you come in. I feel like every time I pay a visit to grab a coconut coffee (delicious!!) or a wrap, there is a new teenage girl who could care less about being there. The last time my husband and I went in to grab a bite for lunch, we didn't know the protocol for a sit down meal, so we asked where we should sit, one cashier said "anywhere", and we waited 15 minutes for a server to approach us. I got up and asked if anyone was tending to the tables, and one teenage girl, with an attitude, said to me "you were supposed to take a menu with you, we don't bring them to the tables." Well, first of all, nobody told me that, and second of all, it still took her 15 minutes to come over to us! The food is not all that great for that kind of obnoxious service. Too bad with the nice renovations they just did, too.

  • Rachael H.

Great spot, large variety of coffees, teas and ice creams as well as desserts and other food items. I usually come for coffee or hot chocolate though, and a cookie. Never disappointed. I like coming on nice days so I can sit with my dog outside.

  • Star B.

OK me and my boyfriend walked in here thinking this spot looks cool and cozy. While waiting on line checking out the menu, we turn back to see someone has skipped us. OK fine. Then we get to the counter to place our order with plenty of nasty looks. We get our coffee and to be honest it was horrible. Never again.

One of the best resterants/cafe in Warwick. I go here almost everyday and the food is constantly good. They have everything from pancakes, unique sandwich wraps to brownie frappachinos. My favorite place to go, and the prices are reasonably cheap. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Warwick.

I used to work here about 13 years ago, back when the flower shop was next door and Gurda TV was as present and strange as it ever was. I still credit Caffe a La Mode as being the place that gave me the work ethic I currently possess, and to this day I am grateful for the previous owner, Dave, for teaching me his methods of customer service, punctuality, and the other et ceteras that go into running a coffee/sandwich wrap/ice cream place. Over the years, I have continued to go in for the graham cracker coffee by the pound to take back home and brew... but I've noticed a change: each time I go in, the service is progressively slower and more inept (SIDE NOTE: Stop spending so much time on the label for the pound of coffee. I know what's in there. I ordered it. How about spending that time... you know... grinding it? And letting me give you money? ECONOMY!). At first, I was like, "Wow! They sure to like to hire teenage girls! I wish Dave had done that when I worked here!", would grab my coffee, and be off. But every time I go in, there seems to be another teenage girl, and then another one, and another, progressively adding a new, less committed employee very time I go in. I swear, if I went in tomorrow, there'd be like 20 young women sitting behind the counter looking around and murmuring things about how hot Mumford and Sons are and wondering what color marker to use to draw a flower on their wrist. Last Sunday, I thought I could beat the teeny-multiplying pattern by PRE-ordering my coffee and going in LATER to pick it up. So, I did so, and went to the nearby farmer's market before popping back in to get my ground coffee. VOILA! It's there! I pay and leave, so utterly happy I didn't have to deal with any actual people (God forbid). Fast forward a few days. We're back in Queens, at home, and we brew a pot of delicious graham cracker coffee (I still use the line I used 13 years ago to sell to customers who'd never tried it TO THIS DAY with dinner guests: "The flavor's not strong enough straight coffee drinkers will notice, and flavored-coffee drinkers will love it because it's unique). Brewed the pot... poured it in the mug... added the milk... took a nice big sip of the blueberry coffee we'd just made. The... wait, WHAT? Blueberry?? I called to speak to the manager and, while he was cool about offering to rectify the situation, he also informed me they aren't currently offering blueberry. I was like, "Well, whatever - it's a fruit flavor." So, that's the thing. The girls need to care more. The owner needs to hire less. And I need to stop acting like my beloved little 8-seat Caffe from 13 years ago will continue to be the place where one could get reliable service. Also, I need to start ordering my graham cracker coffee online.... where I don't have to deal with any actual people.

    (2)
  • Inspecta D.

This place isn't going to blow your mind with their food .... But none the less the food is good... Luncheonette style ... The atmosphere and staff are always great and although slightly pricey it's still a cool spot .....maybe too many hipsters but whatever this is a hippy town

    (4)
  • Martin Y.

A nice place to get some food. Sometimes they are quick, but if there is a crowd then service will be slow. Back in the day, I dropped in nearly weekly for my breakfast fix. Since then, they expanded to take over the space where Gurda's TV shop used to be and they tried to upscale just a wee bit. I like to order breakfast wrap to go and pour my own coffee from the self serve area. Then I can eat in peace and quiet in the little park, just across the street. LOLS...

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
