John's is an as advertised restaurant, which is really all you can ask for. "The Original Chicken Finger Sub"....yup...check that box. We came here for the tender sub and it was pretty on point. The chicken is tender and the bread is great. It is massive, though, so I would recommend splitting it with someone.

If you allow your employees to eat while making pizza make sure they aren't shoving their faces in front of the giant window so everyone can see.

+ good location, good pizza - dry sausage topping Went here last weekend and picked up a couple pizzas. First one with sausage, mushrooms, and hot peppers. The next with bacon, pineapple, and pepperoni. They cooked them up in 30 minutes. Upon entering the

I heard about johns and all the talk has been about there chicken finger subs and pizza so today I decided to stop in for lunch and try it on out. The pizza tasted good. Hot sauce/ blue cheese mix and plenty of cheese. They give you the option of adding celery to the pie(hard to find a place that does that for this particular sort of pie) The fingers where cooked perfect. The crust was meh. It wasn't thin which is good but it was lacking something. Same with the dough itself. I'd try out the chicken finger sub next time.

Love their chicken finger sub! Got to know this place and frequent it as I worked a few blocks away so it was a good choice for lunch due to proximity. Of note, there is another "chain" sub place within a block of this one but can't tolerate the massiveness of the rolls they use for their subs. Anyway, friendly courteous staff and food was always of top quality. Pizza and salads ranked equally good. Choose Johns over the other sub choices in the area and you will not be disappointed.

I have been meaning to try this place for a while now, ever since I got a gift certificate from them in the mail for a free small one-topping pizza. But I never felt like going to pick it up, so the gift certificate lay on my desk at home unused for a long time. I finally went there for the first time on Tuesday (two days ago) on the way home from work, after talking about it with a co-worker who told me that it was really good. Being short on time because I had somewhere to be in a couple hours, I picked up a couple of slices on the way home. I was really glad that I did! It was quite tasty! I decided then and there that I would use the gift certificate soon, and that it was definitely worth going to pick it up. The pizza there is the style that is typical here in Buffalo - a relatively thick crust with ample cheese and sauce, and if you order pepperoni, they are thick, curly, and crispy. Every native Western New Yorker that I know loves it. Everyone that I know from Downstate/New York City/New Jersey/East Coast or Chicago hates it. As an Ohio native who lived most of his life in Florida, I'm rather fond of Buffalo-pizza. But then again, I love both New York and Chicago pizza, too. Anyway, this was classic Buffalo pizza. But it is definitely one of the best that I have had since I moved here almost two years ago. Everything is fresh and flavorful and well-balanced - cheese, sauce, seasoning, and crust. The crust was not soggy, nor was it dry and overcooked. And the pepperoni were nice and crisp, just the way I like them! So, today, I decided that I was going to use the gift certificate. I found it on my desk, but to my dismay, I discovered that it had expired last week! Well, the pizza there was good enough that I figured I would still try and use it. If they said no, then that would have been fine. I may or may not have still ordered. But I called, explained about the expired gift certificate, and asked if there was any way that I could still use it. They guy who answered the phone told me that it shouldn't be a problem. "Okay! I would like to use it then!" I placed my order, and then went to pick it up 20 minutes later. Once again, I was very pleased with my order! So, overall, I really like this place a lot. The pizza is excellent. The staff is friendly and courteous, and they definitely impressed me by accepting my expired gift certificate. They understand the important rule of business - that if you make your customers happy, they will continue giving you their business, and I intend to do so. One last thought - my co-worker who told me about this place also mentioned that they have really good subs. From looking at the menu when I was there, I think he is right. I would, however, like to prove that to myself. I guess I will just have to go back there some time soon and get a sub! No problem there, as I plan to go back quite often!

They are a good place for a chain. Used a Groupon and no issue honoring it. Good specials, good pizza, and tasty crispy boneless wings. I wasn't disappointed and I will definitely go back again soon.

Pizza was okay, but no better than just okay. Service was really lacking. I took a look at their website, where they claim, "always great service," but this was not our experience. We just went for slices, and we each ordered 2 pepperoni slices (4 total). I noticed after we ordered that the pizza was sitting out on the counter, and then they threw it in the oven to heat it up. Who knows how long that pizza had been sitting out, getting cold. I guess you can't expect much from a pizza place when you're just ordering slices, but there are better ways to go about it. Well, after waiting 15 minutes for our slices to heat up (not sure why it took so long), the girl brought our slices out in the box. Then she goes, "just so you know, we ran out of pepperoni so we gave you one with just cheese, is that ok?" I really wish they would have let us know before hand, instead of assuming that we would be ok with it. They didn't say one word to us until they brought out the pizza. Anyone in the restaurant business should know better than that. Not to mention they charged us for the pepperoni slice (which was only an extra 30 or 40 cents, but it was still annoying). The pizza was really nothing special. The sauce was kind of weird and overall it was bland. Maybe their subs are good, since that's what everyone seems to say, but I won't be going back to find out.

A lot of times, someone invents something, and then someone else perfects it. Not the case with John's!! The original chicken finger sub... so delicious, that when our friends visit from NYC, not only do we have to stop for a sub, but they commonly order one more to go on the way out and it rides, buckled in, in the back seat to the airport with them. A costanzo's sub roll, perfectly sauced & sized fingers, a generous portion of blue cheese, and the veggie toppings of your choosing. I was SO upset when the Southwestern blvd location closed those many years ago when I was a southtowner... perhaps it was John's the pulled me north as I looked to purchase my own home. And hey, the rest of the menu is delicious too - but how do you walk into Duff's without getting wings? You don't. And you don't walk into John's without getting a CFS.

Best chicken finger pizza on the planet. The only way to get a chicken finger pizza is the way they make it here...blue cheese/hot sauce blend in lieu of red tomato sauce to me any other chicken finger pizza is just bunk ridiculous...obsessed.

John's might have invented the chicken finger pizza but I only come here for the chicken finger subs. These are truly one of a kind and I have never had anything like it before. And trust me... I've been searching everywhere, just lots of imitators but only one original. The sub is hot and has just enough blue cheese to cool things down. Can get a little bit messy but jut roll up your sleeves and dive in! Definitely one of the places I hit up every time in Buffalo.

Absolutely terrible food! The pizza was under-cooked. It's had spots where the cheese wasn't even melted all the way. The wings were super dry and where not even the flavor we ordered. To make it worse, we got some food poisoning later that evening. I used a groupon for this and I would never ever eat here again, not even for free! I'd rather order Domino's.

I grew up in the house directly behind John's. It is a standard pizza place with a "John" theme (notice the gallery of famous Johns on the wall). Their subs have consistently been my favorite in Buffalo (DiBella's is no competition!), but for years I strayed from the pizza because I thought it was pretty bland. Recently I tried the pizza there again, solely based on the convenience factor, and I was impressed! The pizza is so much better than I remembered growing up. Consistently good service and great food for the 20 years I've been eating there. Highly recommended!

So we went here in search of offical east coast pizza and were sadly disappointed. The Chicken Finger Sub and Garlic bread was not bad, but in general I was not impressed.

They have a serious spider infestation outside, I wanted to crawl out of my skin before I got to the door, but the inside was clean & the service was friendly. Oh yeah, and the food was decent lol...

Everyone in Buffalo needs to be thankful for the awesome subs and pizza you have there. It has been 10 years since leaving Buffalo and everytime we are in town we hit John's for a Chicken Finger Sub (they have no idea what you are talking about if I ask for a Chicken Finger Sub in North Carolina). Just can't beat those fingers, the sauce and the awesome Costanzo's sub roll.....(another thing you can't get in NC) I also get a slice of their pizza which is totally underrated in Buffalo. Fantastic sauce and I love those little burnt pepperonis..... God I miss this place. Luckily, we will be in town next weekend and will definitely stuff my face at Johns..

So the sign says they invented the chicken finger pizza... and maybe they did because it was different than any other I have had. It had franks red hot and blue cheese then chicken then mozzarella cheese. The combination was so good! Underneath the mozzarella it was creamy and just amazing! The dough was light and chewy, the slice could basically hold its shape when picked up. The crust was decent but could have been more pronounced and puffy. Make sure to order it without celery on it. The bbq wings had great flavor and were a moderate size. The staff at the counter were friendly.

I gave this 3 Stars because their chicken finger subs are actually pretty good. Other than that, it's not that great. You could pick up a better pizza in the frozen food section at Tops.
