Love the shrimp tacos and well as the chips and salsa! Good food at an affordable price. I've been here a few times and I haven't been disappointed yet! The waiters are friendly. The service feels a little rushed but friendly. In fact I'll be going there for lunch today and you know I love this place. Why not 5 stars you ask - Well that's reserved for restaurants where not only the food is AWESOME, but the decor, restroom, service & overall experience was close to perfect (like if I went to Aureole's in Midtown - that place deserves 6 stars!) However, if you are looking for a spot that isn't fancy but clean and the food is good - then this is the place to go!

No frills Mexican eats! You go in - order - eat and out in a 1/2 hour. Wooden chairs are a bit uncomfortable but the food is fresh. The chips are thin and good but the salsa is too light and doesn't have any kick to it. If you don't feel like Mexican the menu offers burgers and sandwiches. Bored with your lunch partner? The television is tuned to ESPN.

Unbelievably bland, tasteless food, and such unfriendly, inattentive service. They must use those big Florida avocados for their guacamole instead of the California ones because their flavorless, water-logged guacamole tastes like an old, melted smoothie that's been sitting there for hours, vaguely flavored with the slightest bit of avocado, and way too much melted ice. And the boiled, flavorless chicken for their chicken fajitas comes out on a plate with a few mushy, over-boiled red peppers. SO bad. SO not worth a dime. Tasted like two-day old re-boiled leftovers they put out for workers, that nobody ate the first time. My daughter got sick on the short walk home and we had to stop in at Starbucks to use their bathroom. What a disappointment. UGH! This place gives Mexican food a bad name.

I discovered this place one day when I was to meet an old co-worker for lunch (back when it was still The Little Bigger Place). I instantly fell in love with their Tijuana burrito, which is very flavorful (though a little on the greasy side). While it's more than filling on its own, it comes served with a salad (which I'm not really a fan of) and Mexican rice (which is really good). In addition, their guacamole is probably one of the best I've had in the area. It's far from bland, which can sometimes be an issue with restaurant guacamole. On the downside. Meals are sometimes a hit and a miss. I returned for a visit shortly after discovering the place, to grab lunch with my gf. I still enjoyed my Tijuana burrito, but my gf's shrimp tacos were pretty bad. The shrimp weren't properly cleaned and the tacos had few toppings and virtually no flavor. I was surprised that the two items had even come from the same kitchen. The same can be said for service. During the first visit, my waiter was pretty good. He was a little on the slow side, but I attributed it to the lunch rush. The second time, the waitress wasn't so great. On top of being slow, simple requests (like lemon wedges for my water) needed to be repeated a number of times in order to be satisfied. Also, beware of placing orders for delivery. When dining in, items come fresh and hot. However, when ordering for delivery, items (typically the chips) can be a little stale. Fortunately, adding a note to make sure all items are fresh seems to fix that issue.

This meal was disgusting. I was so disappointed because the super cool/weird mural and the table w/ a lovely Mexican family dining next to us made me think we had hit on a gem. Wrong. 1) Guacamole was terrible. Absolutely gross. It was cold, bland, and way too smooth - I am betting it came out of a plastic container and was far, far from being fresh. 2) Vegetable tacos were stuffed with a few unidentifiable chopped veggies and this slimy sauteed spinach. Yuck. 3) Spanish rice had no flavor whatsoever. 4) Side salad was a mixed of cooked and raw vegetables and made no sense at all. Wine was good though? I guess it's pretty hard to screw that up...

Friendly and welcoming, and a great place to bring kids. We have been coming for two years for their weekend breakfast and brunch specials. Our son loves their french toast and bacon, or their steaming plate of rice and beans.

They recently "rebranded" and are now called "Mariachis." (I informed Yelp, but for some reason "The Bigger Place" is still listed.) Same friendly people, same tasty menu.

Who would have thought that one might uncover a three or four star spot, having walked past it for the past several years? Well, such a discovery was made recently with The Little Place. The Little (^ Big) Place has a unique charm that runs contrary to its uninviting facade and particular location where Tribeca meets FiDi at a busy street corner. The decor is punctuated by lamps constructed from strainers and cheese graters, and party decorations that conjure up images of a neighborhood haunt by the Pemex station in a sleepy town in the Yucatan. The chips are thin and crispy, and the guacamole and salsa are robust and flavorful. There is a touch of American in the menu, such as with the pancakes and buttermilk biscuits--perhaps an attempt at diversification and kid-friendliness. The entrees are well executed, but they could have an 'off day' from time to time. The Little Place has a big selection of Jarritos and assorted Mexican drinks to wash down the food. Pricing is reasonable but not attractive. Try The Little Place if you are in the neighborhood and seek a laid-back setting and above-average Mexican fare.

Inexpensive and superb. A gem. Unassuming; unpretentious. A place where real, live, Mexican people in the city go to eat genuine, rustic, Mexican food. Bring any Californian to this place and they will confirm that for you. Its as authentic as you will find in Manhattan. Sure, tiny mistakes sometimes happen--the staff may appear distracted and the food may have a 'crude' aspect to it. Hey, that's the norm for this level of restaurant, folks--New Yorkers need to get out of New York more often; maybe they'd stop down-rating everything which isn't five-star Michelin. Hey Manhattan-ites, most restaurants in the world don't bow, scrape, and kiss-your-ass when you walk in the door, get it? The place overall just has a huge heart and a gentle, no-nonsense, take-it-or-leave it, friendly spirit. They're not trying to gouge you. Its godamn refreshing compared to all the phony places surrounding it in Tribeca. So just shut up --go, sit-down, and enjoy.

The food was okay I guess for delivery. Every seemed to just be thrown into a plastic case, and was all messy when I got it... I will never order from this place again, because as I started to pull out a tip to give the guy delivery guy he started doing these gestures and talking in his tongue with this disgusting face because he "thought" I wasn't going to tip him. So as he saw me grab a 5, I looked at him and said "you blew it with your remarks." Dude was pissed, oh well. That attitude doesn't deserve a tip.

I've walked by here enough in my rambles around my newish work neighborhood to have bookmarked it in my mind as a place to visit. It's not like the other lunch joints in the area, filled with the harried and the tastebud-less. So, when my now random lunch schedule allowed for a proper walk and sit down, I met my-buddy-my-pal Andrew D. for lunch here. I forgot what AD ordered, but I got the Enchiladas Suizas with chicken and shared the guacamole and chips. The atmosphere was relaxed and made me wish I didn't have to leave. So instead, I came back the following week to have lunch with my best friend, Zahra, and this time had the Turkey Chili and a side of tortilla chips, freshly made. I love well made Turkey Chili and this was really flavorful and there was no weird gamey aftertaste that I've found in some turkey chili I've had. Anyways, all in all a pleasant lunch spot find in the food wasteland that is the Financial District. Or is this Tribeca already? These zoning delineations befuddle me.

A regrettable Seamless Web order that just reinforced the stereotype of Manhattan having really bad Mexican food. It's a shame, because they have a nice story and all. They used to be the "The Little Place", but it was forced to close in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks given, in part, its proximity to Ground Zero. Perhaps they should have stayed closed, because there is nothing that I had that would merit a second visit. I opted for the chicken with mole sauce dinner which came with a heaping helping of rice and beans as well as tacos. The chicken, while plentiful, was noticeably dry. Worse, none of the protein picked up the flavor of the mole sauce which was clearly added after the fact. The mole sauce was not particularly intricate or nuanced. My mouth registered two notes: chocolate in the foreground with smokiness in the background. That balance simply is not correct and did not make for enjoyable eating. The beans and rice were appropriately cooked, but I had lost all of my enthusiasm. Bad. Oh well, so it goes. If you are looking for Mexican food on Seamless Web, you can stand to do better.

Nice little downtown mexican spot that is great to dine in or pick up a quick lunch. I tried the enchiladas suizas, which tasted fresh and had a nice spicy green sauce. Nothing super special or high end, but it gets the job done.

Decent neighborhood spot * A great local place to kick back with friends or family * Meat a lot less flavorful than chiptole, but solid quality and quantity. Food is a tad expensive. * Rice is not bad, guacamole is good.

Strike 1: Deliveryman blatantly lies to me when I ask if he is in the lobby. He says yes. I come down to the lobby to find no deliveryman. Strike 2: Parts of my order are missing. Strike 3: The food does not come with the advertised sides. Where's the salad? The red onion? Cilantro? Strike 4: The quality of the food is suspect. Guacamole (which came without the ordered chips) is creamed slop that tastes like it has additives and may never turn brown. You only get three strikes before you're out, right?

It's Mexican and it gets the job done decently. I had some really good enchiladas with mole here yesterday. Chips are homemade, but salsa was a little too liquid for my tastes. However, the horchata was great. I much prefer it here to one of those Fexican ("fake Mexican") TriBeCa places, with $21 "taquitos" and $15 margaritas. It's probably as legit as you'll get below Canal Street. Prices are decent, at about ten bucks a plate. I also liked that the inside was really open, sunny, and airy. Definite plus. Also a definite plus that it's right next to the Raccoon Lodge. Service was fast, too. I'd come here again, any day.

I'm 6' 4" 300lbs (telegraphing I LOVE food) and most likely the biggest Mexican in the City. I just moved from California for a job in the financial district and have been in the city for 2 months now in a quest to find good Mexican food. Up until now I have been unsuccessfull having tried four different Mexican joints up and down the west side of Manhattan only to be indifferent, disappointed or grossed out even while drunk. To be fair my quest has consisted in finding a great burrito or taco and The Little [Biggest] Place has a great "Costeno" burrito that consists of very fresh shrimp and spinach. The rice and salad are served on the side, which is great if you are concerned about the carb. intake (i.e. rice). I would rate the burrito overall "good" since I am holding it to CA standards. On the other hand, the mole (thick dark brown/black spicy sauce - NOT the thing on your face!) was a complete surprise and to have the option to be served on enchiladas ("Pueblanas" in NY and "enmoladas" in CA) was what drove the rating to 4 stars. Even in CA they are a rarity AND to find them in NY a couple of blocks from where I work blew me away. They are not my mom's enmoladas, but I will definitely eat them again and again...sooo goooood....MMmmmmmm.... I also liked the fact that place is ran by Latinos (Meixcans? dunno) with great service. All you have to do is provide a little respect and it is well reciprocated. ...I'm still thinking about the (spicy) mole....MMMmmmm...

Mediocre food & terrible service. I've been here a couple times, the food is just okay, not good & not terrible- just decent. However the service is absolutely terrible, they act as if they are doing you a favor, they are constantly rushing customers unless they have a large group. They take forever to bring you the check & have no patience for questions.

This place is now called Mariachi's or something, but I gave them one star because 0 wasn't an option. Their customer service is the absolute worst! I ordered two biscuits and cornbread - BASIC SIDES - and it took over an hour and 45 minutes for me to receive the food, when I was promised delivery in 30-45 minutes. When I called for a status update after 45 minutes, the manager was rude and told me the driver would leave in another 10-15 mins. When I asked him why it was taking so long for the simplest items which were probably already made earlier, he kept asking if I wanted to cancel my order instead of apologizing and offering a better solution. I called back a second time because 30 minutes after that call, my food STILL wasn't delivered. All in all, it ended up being an hour and 45 minute ordeal to receive two biscuits and cornbread.

I love Mexican food, and this is the most delicious Mexican food in the neighborhood. They make a delicious mole chicken - and it isn't easy to find good mole in the city. The burritos are big and filling and the chips and salsa are tasty. Most importantly, you can get a good bite to eat, some Mexican beer or a glass of wine, and watch the (Yankees) game on the big TV on the way home without dealing with the loud crowds at a bar. The service is decent, and the decor is funky. Try the house special mole chicken burrito (burrito poblano) when it's offered, you won't be disappointed. p.s. I think the name is wrong on Yelp. It's now called The Bigger Place, or the Little Bigger Place. It was The Little Place when it was at a smaller location until 9/11.

Hrmmm...apparently I grabbed an old menu upon exiting this establishment last Friday night. After reading brian h.'s review....I see it's now called The Little Place. Same location, different name. D'oh! And no, I wasn't drunk when I initially wrote this review....in case you were, you know, wondering. Ahem.

BLAND. I have had better Mexican food in an airport. Most of the menu seemed smothered in cheese so I opted for the fajitas, which amounted to some steamed meat that was tough and flavorless and a series of mediocre ingredients that amounted to a mouthful of blech and the rest of the meal to go. Seemed like a perfectly charming place and it's in a bit of a no man's land, but I'd avoid this spot, despite any lures of a quick and easy lunch special.

This place SUCKS!!!!!!!! Service was absolutely horrible. My food was not bad, but one of the dishes that came out for my friend had a hair in it......ugh!!!!!!!! Total turn off. My cousin asked for extra guacamole and they charged us $10 for two extra sides. Now that's ridiculous. This place didn't even give the table salsa and chips. I never went to a Mexican restaurant and didn't get complimentary salsa and chips......how dare they! After we were finished eating the waitress completely ignored us and let us sit there for a good ten minutes before giving us the bill. She was nasty from the second we walked in. Her face was twisted like she smelled something awful. We are NEVER coming back EVER again! This place should be renamed "The Little Dump"

As far as decently-priced Mexican food downtown goes, this place isn't terrible. But it's inconsistent, sometimes slow, and sometimes they get your order wrong. In the last three times I've been there, at least one person at the table got the wrong thing. The food's tasty enough, but it's nothing to write home about. It's barely worth blogging about. All in all, it's a decent regular lunch, but I don't crave it, and it's just a bit too far of a walk during my normal workday to care to try more things. So, a big "meh" to the Little Place. PS: The staff is generally friendly and helpful, and have replaced wrong orders quickly. But I get the feeling that they're good about replacing orders because they have to do it a lot.

I've been here three times since I started work downtown and each time I've had a pleasant meal. The service can be a bit spotty and sometimes the lady doesn't quite understand your order... so be sure that you explain any changes to an order carefully. i've had the chicken tostadas twice (yum yum) and the enchiladas suizas. they both pack a punch of flavor, but not so much that it overwhelms the chicken. i know it's not the greatest mexican food, but it's the best we've got in the financial district. the prices aren't bad (meals during lunch will run you around $10-12) and it's a quick walk from work.

Work in the area, and I hadn't come here in awhile. Went there for lunch today, and now I remember why. I like my food robust, but the roasted tomato soup was seriously overheavy on what I picked up as oregano, garlic and salt. The chicken enchiladas were OK, although a little on the bland and dry side. But there were two pretty big bones in the shredded chicken, which is pretty unacceptable. Service was fine.

Food tastes like it comes from a Mexican fast food restaurant, especially with the lunch special items. I had the shrimp tacos and the food tasted bland with a weird aftertaste that I can't really describe. I ordered from seamless for delivery and it took a lot longer than I had expected for the food to arrive. The restaurant gives an estimation of half an hour to seamless but in reality it took +1 hour for my food to arrive and I live near TriBeCa. I can pretty much walk to the restaurant in 15 minutes by myself. When I had called the restaurant to ask how much longer I'd have to wait after 50 minutes of waiting I got a rude answer and the deliveryman was even worse. When he came to my apartment, he pounded on my door very loudly instead of ringing the doorbell and was very unpleasant to deal with. Never again.....

I'm probably hating on this more than I should, but I was seriously underwhelmed. Maybe it's cause I wanted to go to The Meatball Shop, but the stupid subway system was running differently, and we got off at a stop completely out of the way from it. And maybe its cause I wanted something that meets, nay MEATS, my flavor expectations for a menu item called "Chorizo Nachos." Either way, I'll think twice before coming back here. It was all edible, but I was in a mood to get my socks knocked off, and they remained firmly attached to my feet.

Pretty much some of the worst food I've ever eaten in my entire life. Went for lunch in a party of five. Had the "5 de Mayo" special, which was a veggie enchilada, a chicken tamale, and a chicken tostada all topped with green tomatillo sauce. The chicken in each of the portions had very obviously been prepped hours, if not days, beforehand. Bland, dry, and hard to chew. The enchilada was the best part, as the filling had obviously been pan-fried recently. One of the party members had the chicken fajitas and was served the same sad chicken detritus with some minced red pepper for effect. Did I mention it was microwaved, having pockets of cold and hot throughout? We returned from this restaurant about 45 minutes ago and I'm still thinking about nipping to the washroom for a nice purge.

A little pricey for a neighborhood lunch spot, but the mole sauce is pretty awesome! If the lunch "special" was actually a special - in that it cost less than $10 - I would definitely go back. Service was mediocre, nothing outrageously bad but I didn't exactly feel warm and fuzzy, either.

This is truly authentic mexican food. everything was fresh and tasty. the decor is as if a high school kid hung up their art work- hand drawn sketches of people places and things all blended together as one complex thought. the service is friendly but it was not quick. maybe it was an off morning, or maybe they were just slammed. i think we spent an hour there but we only intended to be in and out.

Nothing glamorous so don't go to impress but do go for the Mexican food! Salsa and chips are a nice touch~ I always opt for the gauc which is fresh & good. Tonight I tried the City Hall Salad: grilled shrimp, tomatoes, avocado, romaine lettuce & oaxaca salad It was that good that I would order it again! Cheap too!

Looking for good mexican food in TriBeCa is harder than the tortillas at mexican food places in TriBeCa. Grubhub led us to this place as a less expensive option to Mary Anne's, which recently moved out of the area. Still, another disappointment in my quest to find good mex on the island. Back in my native California, finding good eats in the south of the border type is easy as 1-B-III. However, as my other lunacy filled rants will show, I praise the day I find a Chipotle, which does not speak well of a) my taste for mexican or b) the food fare in the city. Had the Companero carne asada, which was meh. If you do like the hot stuff though, the green sauce was tasty and one spicy meat-a-ball. any ideas, im def. open to them. Help me Yelp! NYC. You're my only hope.
Although this restaurant is located in a great area and could possibly have potential I was deeply disappointed with the service and food. I came here on a Wednesday night with a friend hoping to find great authentic Mexican food. The service was mediocre compare to other restaurants near the area. My friend ordered a steak burrito and I ordered chicken and steak tacos. The food wasn't terrible but it was definitely not authentic Mexican food. The rice and beans were bland. Lastly I ordered a crepe for desert which the waiter recommended. The crepe was not on the menu for which I thought it was special item for the night. Boy was I wrong, the crepe tasted as if it was cooked the night before and microwave when I placed my order.

Let me preface this by stating that I stopped in for a random visit one Saturday afternoon, so my experience or expectations may differ from that of the people who live or work nearby and come here regularly. Some of them seem rather satisfied but I was unimpressed. My group ordered chorizo nachos, chicken tacos and carne asada tacos to share. Both types of tacos were of acceptable flavor and came with a surprisingly good salad as well as some blandly-flavored rice. The nachos, while good, were an unacceptably small portion, perhaps a dozen chips and a smattering of toppings--not the monstrous pile of deliciousness one might usually expect. Still hungry, we ended our meal with two cookies, which were just okay. The total, including tax and tip, came to $44. Even excusing for the inflated prices due to location, this is too much. None of us had our appetites satiated here and for $11 each, we should have gotten more than a few bites apiece of entirely average Mexican food. I would likely not come here again.

all I know is that I made a lunch order on a Friday afternoon using my debit card. this was the only charge in about a month I had made without having to enter a security code or my PIN. about twelve hours later, fraudulent charges started showing up on my card that I did not notice until Tuesday afternoon - the total amount being just short of $1500. I am not saying for sure that someone from this restaurant made these fraudulent charges on my debit card, but it is the only logical explanation. Please, when ordering from this restaurant, DO NOT use a credit or debit card, just to be safe.

I got delivery chicken fajitas from here... just as good as delivery can be. The food was still warm, and they listened and gave me salsa rather than sour cream. A-OK. The salsa was a little watery though.

I give this restaurant 4 stars for three very good reasons: 1 - Whenever I go to a Mexican restaurant I am very crticial of the rice. I strongly feel that if enough attention is given to make the rice good, then the rest will be great. Obviously, the rice at Little Place was very impressive. It was very soft, not sticky, not greasy and had subtle flavor. The rice is absolutley perfect! 2 - I usually order some sort of mole poblano dish during my first visit to a Mexican restaurant. Mole poblano is a very complex sauce that has a variety of ingredients and flavors. It's rather difficult to make a good mole sauce, because it's too easy for one flavor to dominate and ruin the sauce. I had ordered the Mole Poblano Combo, which was the lunch special of the day. This sauce is just like the sauce my mom makes: an excellent combination of sweet, spicy and savory. Awesome! 3 - Tamales are my final critique of a Mexican restaurant. Here is where Little Place could have gotten 5 stars, but gets 4 instead. I always compare a Mexican restaurant's offerings to the food that my mom and her sisters have been making since I can remember. With the huge success that was achieved in categories 1 and 2 above, I was really rooting for Little Place. My only disapointment is that the tamales have too much masa. In the world of Yelp, 5 stars means "As good as it gets." If the tamales had more meat to even out the masa-to-meat ratio, this restaurant certainly deserves 5 stars. Otherwise, the tamales were perfectly flavored, especially the masa with just enough chile. After visiting New York for several weeks on business, I was so happy to find Little Place. Most of the Yelp reviews that I had read regarding Mexican restaurants in Manhattan really discouraged me. I am so happy that I had decided to try Little Place. I will always make it a point to visit this restaurant as long as I'm working in New York. (I don't care to comment about the ambiance, decor or service, because I visit restaurants for good food.)

It's a hit or miss here. Sometimes the food and service is decent and other times you wish you hadn't come in. I usually go here when I want some quick Mexican because it's fairly close and I always order the same meal - Cajun Shrimp Tostadas. Sometimes it comes with a lot of beans and no salsa, sometimes with salsa but with little beans, sometimes with a lot of salad, sometimes without...you get the idea. No real consistency.

The three and a half star average that this place has is just about right. With a casual vibe, this is a nice alternative to some of the more crowded places in the area. I've been eyeing this place for a while now, but never had the chance to stop in until a few Sundays ago for brunch. Mmmm, Mexican food at 11:30 in the morning! I enjoyed my dish a lot; a combo plate of tamale, tostada, and eggs. Everything was put together well, and better than many of the other Mexican places in the city. I also really liked the little squeeze bottle of salsa they put on the table; although it was runny, the sauce had a nice kick to it. Not everything was a winner; the horchata was a little weak (too... watery?). But decent prices and solid food will bring me back another time.

My coworkers and I came here for lunch, and the menu was your standard Mexican fare. I had the chicken fajitas which was supposed to come with Mexican rice, sour cream, guacamole, and 3 tortillas. Contrary to its name, portions are definitely generous, although my coworker disagrees. I believe it really depends on the dish and point of view. I was pleased with the authenticity of the food since there weren't as much Americanized influences. The fajitas were different from the ones offered at Applebee's or the Cheesecake Factory. They were milder and a bit rough around the edges. Still good, though! The staff is entirely made up of Mexicans or other Latinos. You can definitely feel the authenticity in the cafeteria-like setup of tables and chairs, decor, food, and service. One thing I'd like to note is that the restaurant did not strike me to be the cleanest place on the block. Not that restaurants are centers of sanitation in general, but there are those out there that at least attempt to assure you of some cleanliness. Not The Little Place. The clientele is mostly composed of cube monkeys who work nearby. Be prepared to pay $10-$15 for lunch. I had a good authentic lunch there, but I don't think I will be returning anytime soon. One time is enough for now to share my experience on Yelp.

Very good food but not great. Very affordable and friendly service. Chips and salsa are very good. The chicken tamales are great, as are the mole enchiladas. I'm usually really disappointed with Mexican food in the city, but this restaurant is now definitely on my roster of regular places to eat or order from.

I was drawn in to dine here by the cozy and inviting atmosphere and somewhat an authentic feel. I mustn't judge the book by its cover, and lesson was learned here. The food was not memorable at all. I've gotten much cheaper food with better quality. The dishes were too simple, didn't have much flavor, and were overpriced. This pace is rip off, nothing special, authentic, or delicious about it.

Neesha M.
If you are looking for a decent restaurant with decent food with a decent price, this is the place for you! They have great, friendly service and the salsa here is simply amazing! I was also very pleased to see that they offered horchata, which many Mexican restaurants do not have. The food wasn't spectacular and was exactly what I expected based on the price.

Blah. Food wasn't that great. This place should get 2.5 stars, but doesn't make it to 3. Maybe I'm being harsh cause I like Mexican food. The people seemed nice and the salsa was decent. The chips were not fresh and the entrees weren't that great for the price for dinner. Maybe they do better during lunch. Definitely not authentic. Or not quality authentic. If you are comparing it to Qdoba I guess I could see why you think this is authentic.

I'm not sure how or why, but that soupy salsa is delicious. I want to know what kind of pepper they're using because it has a delightfully zingy kick to it despite its overly watery texture. I went on Cinco de Mayo for a little Mexican gnoshing, and we were seated with no wait and our food came within 10 minutes of ordering. I got the 5 de Mayo special for $9.50, which came with a chicken enchilada, chicken tamale, and chicken tostada. Decent, especially if you like dark meat chicken, which I understand grosses some people out. Not me. I've certainly had better in California, but it was fine and totally hit the spot. I would not order the tamale again, however. Cornmeal was too dry. And I will definitely be trying some more tostadas. Yum. The place only serves beer and wine, so I was surprised when I spied another table with a bottle of tequila and some limes. Turns out this Little Place is BYOT. Sounds like a good time to me.

Pretty good Mexican food and reasonably priced. Ingredients tasted fresh and food was actually reasonably spicy unlike a lot of Mexican restaurants.

Food: 3.75 Decor:2.75 Service:3.5 Date worthy? Possibly....if your date is laid back, can take a joke and has a love of being surrounded in authentic chi chi goodness Tribeca is filled with fine dining places that are a delight for your palette but a heavy load for the wallet. Enter The Bigger Place. Mexican food done local cantina style. I've been here 3 times and the last, I had unusual bowel movements but I'm not sure if the food was to blame or my feminine companion. Anyhow, I digress: Quesidillas are really good. The Carne Asada is made with pieces of steak tips grilled (a little tougher and not soft roasted meat) but good none the less. The Chicken one is good too. The best is the rice, beans and pico that accompany the quesidillas. Delish. Guacamole is good b/c it's spiced with salsa but, tastes pretty watery b/c the avocado is pureed. Still prefer the guac at Rosa mexicana. If they started making the guac with avocado chunks I'd be converted. Restuarant is a step up from your local takeout place with tables and festive chi-chi mexican table cloths. Negro modelos are a yummy treat for $5 a bottle. Overall, a great takeout/inexpensive eat in place for that recession we're in right now.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. From the outside, it looks as if it's kind of a greasy spoon. But from the inside, you see the decor strives to be homey without being hokey. I was seated promptly and courteously, and the friendly waitress accommodated my request for a veggie quesadilla, no mushrooms, no guacamole, no sour cream. The chips, though they were not salted, came with a zesty salsa that made up for the lack of salt. (Salt shakers are provided.) I actually had two baskets of chips, given how good the salsa was. And, lo and behold, as I sat there for about 45 minutes, the whole place filled up. There wasn't any obnoxious music, though, and it wasn't too loud to hear your dining companion talk. It was bright enough to read. The quesadilla was yummy and hot, with fresh spinach, carrots, and zucchini. Alongside was a corn, black-bean and tomato serving atop some lettuce, in addition to a portion of rice. I cleaned my plate. For $11.95, you can't do much better. I always prefer to eat in nonchain restaurants over chains if possible, so I am looking forward to more meals here.

A LITTLE BIGGER PLACE We love this joint--found it just wandering in Tribeca one afternoon, and decided it was the place for us. Not a lot of after-work crowd, so it was quiet but busy with families and locals. I lived in Arizona as a kid, parents in Colorado now, both of which have wonderful Mexican food. This is probably the best Mex I've had in NYC. Subtle flavors, slow burn, fresh vegetables--DELICIOUS. I haven't gone to some of the more expensive places, like Rosa, but good Mexican food shouldn't require that you get a second mortgage to pay for it. Plus, Rosa's a chain, and that's just lame. So, to review, A Little Bigger Place is delicious food, is frequented by locals (not tourists), has a great staff and an over-all happy atmosphere. It's a total pleasure when we eat here.

SOOOOOOOO frikkin good. The grilled shrimp salad with avocado was seriously one of the best salads ive ever had. The Quesdailla was pretty good too. Note it came with onions. Complimentary chips and salsa, not too spicy but just different enough for the taste. Wound up being $12 for lunch with tax and tip, no drink. I will be back for lunch for sure!!!

Food was great! Reason for loosing a star, service could have been better both of our drinks ran out and didn't get refilled. Other than that I recommend this place for authentic mexican.

For lunch delivery, this place does the trick. It's not exactly authentic, but very few mexican restaurants are. In general, it outdoes most. The salsa is solid; the carne tacos are good with a unique flavor; the tamales are passable. if you work on the westside of downtown, consider this place for worthwhile Mexican delivery. It won't let you down too much.

Thought it was an average place until they recently changed policies and started to charge for their chips and salsa ($3.50 now). Not cool.

Love this place. Yummy food, nice people working here, good service. You won't be wowed by the atmosphere but you'll be satisfied and full when you leave. And my bet is, you'll be back.

Not sure what to expect, I dined here last night with my son. Definately not the typical suburban mexican place. The food tasted like authentic mexican sans the beans and rice filler most mexican places try to fill their patrons up on. When in the neighborhood, I would eat there again.

I just went back and wanted to say that, ESPECIALLY for the price, this place is solid. I have had quite a few things on the menu so far and I haven't been disappointed by any. more importantly, there is always something my daughter wants to eat here and the service is always friendly.

I was impressed by the freshness of the food here and contrary to other Yelpers, I didn't find it dirty. The complimentary chips were definitely store-bought, but the salsa had good flavor, even if it was very liquidy. I got the fish tacos special for lunch and it was delicious and the perfect amount of food - not so much that you get food coma, but still enough to be filling. It came with a small bit of salad and couscous on the side, both of which were very good. The special was around $12, but there were cheaper items on the menu. I'd definitely return! Favorite overheard moment here from a group of 4 office workers who stood around for about 5 minutes trying to decide if they wanted to eat there: Lady (to male companion): I don't know, is it any good here? Is it authentic? Guy: I wouldn't really know - I'm Cuban.

A total dive, but great food, nice service and a pleasant atmosphere. Great for those nights when you want Mexican but can't be bothered with the crowds at Rosa Mexicana. Be prepared for no-frills and definitely eat in - something tells me delivery won't quite be the same experience.

This place is horrendous for Mexican, which is what we ordered, so I can't speak about the "American" selections on the menu. I hate to be so harsh, but this is an insult to Mexican food. We ordered via Seamless at the office. Here are the comments from my colleagues: "this is the worst burrito I've ever had", "the rice tastes like oily plastic", and "my veggie fajitas are cold and inedible". I ordered the chicken quesadilla thinking that was a safe bet, but it was just terrible. Basically, it seems like a Chinese restaurant making Mexican food. The burrito, which was small, had broccoli and tons of garlic in it. My quesadilla included huge chunks of chicken stir fry and yellow peppers stuffed into quesadilla form sitting in a kind of soupy bean and sour cream mix. One colleague and I ended up tossing the rest of the food and going out to get a second lunch. Ordering from this place was her choice and she has spent the last hour apologizing to us. I honestly have to wonder who is giving this restaurant any more than 1 or 2 stars...

I ordered chips and salsa and also the chicken fajitas for delivery. Delivery was quick and the food was still very hot when it got to me. Chips were good. Salsa was a bit too watery but was tasty. Tortillas were still soft which was great. Now to the meal itself -- the menu claims that the chicken is seasoned but I don't really consider black pepper as a seasoning. The black beans totally lacked flavor and the mexican rice was seasoned with salt and nothing else (that's what it tasted like anyway). People keep commenting on the decor and atmosphere but I don't really take that into consideration when eating out. If it's good food I don't care that the atmosphere was cozy!! That's $18.50 I'm never going to see again. Definitely pass on The Bigger Place.

The slogan for this place is "the little place,.. with BIG taste!".. and indeed they are semi correct. This place serves a mix of Mexican and American food. The food isn't the most authentic or delicious, but does taste home cooked-- which I believe is its biggest selling point and the reason why it always seems packed during the lunch rush. The menu offers the mix of Mexican dishes you'd come to expect- tacos and fajitas, and a mix of American dishes like sandwiches and chicken pot pie (except it isn't actually in a pie, and looks like chicken pot curry).. They also offer a range of beverages like traditional Mexican flavored sodas and fresh squeezed juices. You really feel like you're having a quick homecooked meal put together just for you; and I must admit, the feeling is a nice feeling. The price tag averages from $7-$12 per entrees, which isn't too shabby, but still definitely not a steal for mediocre homecooking.

I heart Mexican Brunch. It may not be the best ever, but it's tasty and it's an easy stumble away on a Sunday morning.
(4)
Rick K.
Very average Mexican food, but I haven't been able to do better in the area. I have been here countless times and everything is decent but nothing is noteworthy. It's a bit expensive for what you get as well, but I guess that should be expected in Tribeca.

Underwhelming standard Mexican fare... but the delivery is fast and the guacamole is fresh (and spicy!).

In terms of it's price range and worth, I'm giving this place 4.5 stars. I love their tomatillo salsa. It's definitely more authentic than Chipotle and Qdoba, and probably the most authentic Mexican restaurant that I've had in NYC, but I really haven't had authentic Mexican food here. I'm from Los Angeles, and my favorite Mexican restaurants there are El Tepeyac (in East Los Angeles) and El Taurino (on Hoover). There was one other that was more authentic (located on 8th Street just East of 4th Street), since they use that sour Mexican cheese over tostadas, but just recently, they closed. Anyway, getting back to this place, I've been impressed with their fish tacos and enchiladas. I often order through Seamless Web.

A good place to consider for an alternative for weekend brunch when Kitchenette and Petite Abeille are jammed and have lines outside. All their omelets are yummy, and they have the same brunch amenities as Kitchenette (strawberry butter.) You get steamed milk with your coffee, and the service is courteous and friendly. The Mexican cooking at Little Place is more like home-made and definitely more to my taste than Mary Ann's, which is actually a better place for pitchers of beer with the after work crowd.
(4)
Enise M.
absolutely love this place! good homestyle cooking! family atmosphere! I have become a regular on Fridays with my son who attends college two blocks away . Its nice that the owner knows what we are drinking and places the orders right away, since we have about an hour to eat.

This place has one of my favorite lunch specials of all time; the Mole Polano Con Pollo. It is the ONLY dish I will order from here. A generous helping of steamed chicken leg covered with simmering chocolate sauce and sesame seeds (I know, it sounds odd but trust me, it is DELICIOUS and the very thoughts make my taste buds tingle,) along with a side of salad or beans, Mexican rice and 3 warm soft corn tortillas. The helpings are generous, as all Mexican restaurants should be and the waiters are very, very friendly. All of that will run under $11, and that's a bargain for a lunch of this size and quality in the Financial District. Now, why the 3-stars? Because aside from that one amazing dish, everything else I've tried was crap. Every once in a while, my little peanut brain would churn along and think "Hmm... That chicken leg was so delicious... so, everything else there must be really good as well. Maybe I should experiment and try something new...." NO! WRONG! YOUR COURAGE AND INTREPIDNESS WILL NOT BE REWARDED! YOU WILL INSTEAD BE BRUTALLY PUNISHED. My mind has repressed the times that I have experimented with other dishes, they were mostly forgetful, unmemorable or downright traumatizing. The worst offenders were the guacamole and shrimp. I've never, ever, had watery guacamole before. Even the ones in Keyfood had some semblance of the texture of the original avocados that went into the guac. They served me a watery paste that must have came from an instant-guac-powder mix, or at the very least came from a food processor. It also had an unhealthily neon-green sheen to it, as if it would glow if I shone black light on it. The shrimps were mushy and powdery, signs that it wasn't fresh and had undergone deep cryogenic stasis. So, learn from my mistakes, get that dish and pass on everything else. Everything.

Would have to disagree with the first reviewer - Little Place is a pleasant mexican lunch place that serves clean, fresh food (sometimes Mexican places in New York can weigh you down with grease and cream). Lunch dishes are around $8-9, which in the neighborhood is quite good. A work favorite for me,

Can't really comment on the food since it never arrived. Totally understand when a small place is overwhelmed...it is Cinco de Mayo. But they friggin took the phone off the hook. Didn't have the decency to speak with people directly. Had to hear from Seamlessweb that they were running an hour behind, as they apparently had access to an emergency number. WTF?

Ordered from here twice. Pretty expensive and some of the food - like the tacos are just poor. I can't say I love everything about mary anns, but it's light years in front of this place, and just as expensive.

The food was crazy good. My corn soft taco was filled with tender carnitas and other fillings including mashed avocado. on the side was a lovely salad of spinach, tomatoes, corn and beans. Overall, the food tasted fresh and I have no complaints. Mariachi's was a reasonably priced haven in a sea of Tribeca's shuttered luch spots or stuffy, fancy night spots. There are margaritas, but I didn't see them on the menu. Refined margaritas? Not remotely, but they went down for me.

Best Mexican food south of canal. Great service and a friendly place to eat. Plus it is reasonable in price.

This place was thoroughly disappointing. From the lousy service to the tasteless carne asada hard shell tacos -- which came in those store bought Ortega shells...stale ones at that. They were almost inedible as I doused them with hot sauce and salt. The meat itself was a light gray color and tasted more like cardboard than meat. I honestly don't know how this place manages to stay in business. While the food is inexpensive I would recommend that you save your money for something that actually TASTES like food. Needless to say I will not be coming back.

The Quick: 3-3.5 Mexican food with an extra star for amazing service and a fun spot. All about those margs. The Details: The food is good, obviously enhanced by a few margs - the strawberry, get it. This is not the type of place I would come for an amazing meal, but with a few drinks and lots of laughs, it's a perfect spot to begin or end a rowdy night. Everyone liked what they ordered but nothing was overly exciting. For $8 you can start with chips salsa AND guacamole... any place that doesn't charge extra for Guac can have my first born (this is why I'm not married). They were very quick to refill the chips. The fajitas were good the burritos were good, the strawberry margarita was fantastic and the staff was perfect. -- The staff are the kind of people you want to get wasted with. Overall just a really fun spot and reasonably priced. The Damage: $12 entrees, inexpensive margs and beer... depending how much you drink, probably $20-$25 pre tip.

Mariachi's is a good, affordable place for Mexican food. It isn't a classy spot with upscale Mexican options but a casual place to get your typical selection of burritos, tacos and enchiladas. It won't be the sort of place that provides a memorable meal, but it will give you some tasty options at a reasonable price. The chicken in their meals is quite tender, and I liked it better than the steak options.

The nachos were hard. The glasses were dirty, the place was filthy to say the least. I wasn't at all impressed with the food, it was very mediocre. Even the likes of Dos Toros and Baja Fresh are better. Also, they are sneaky with the gratuity. We were a party of two, but they automatically tagged the tip to the total. That wasn't even the problem, the problem was when they wrote 'pre-tip' amount on the credit card receipt. I ended up tipping 45% for crappy service. I disputed the additional tip with CC company.

not earth-shattering but perfect for comfort food. the price is a little high but considering the location... understandable for those nyc rents! and i will gladly pay the higher price to have a no-frills quality establishment like this. the portions are well sized and the food is simple. what shines the most for me is the energetic staff, the relaxed atmosphere, and the incredibly approachable menu! the menu doesn't dumb things down for newbie mexican foodies but it does add in nice educational info in a way that i easy to read compared to other mexican menu monstrosities i've encountered! enjoying my horchata & chorizo burrito. this place would be great for an after work happy hour dinner party!

This place is subpar. I was excited to eat her to be honest but then the food was a complete disappointment. The place seemed like it would be authentic and flavorful and it was not that. We ordered a plate of enchiladas and tacos. What we got we're just a items microwaved. The tacos were warm to the point of it being cold. The cheese inside was barely melted and the meat itself was ridiculously hard and dry. The enchiladas, same thing. Microwaved, barely hot and was clearly was not cooked to order. As for the service, subpar AGAIN. The waiter was not attentive, and he even forgot one of my friends orders. It was just not a great dining experience overall. The place served incredibly mediocre food at an incredibly overpriced prices. Do yourself a favor, just find someplace else around. TriBeCa has great places and this is not one of them.

Terrible. 20% tip for crap service. Food was ok felt like it was on the healthier side but i shouldnt have to ask my chips and salsa. Thats a given at a mexican restaurant. Overall not good and aggravating

I had a "Que Paso" burrito and she had an order of Carnitas Tacos. We both tried each other's plate and they were both good!! The tortilla chips are homemade and have its own unique and exquisite flavor, the salsa was even better. I asked a waiter (possibly might've been the manager, he was dressed differently) if he could do me a big favor and present a cake I bought especially for my girlfriend. With a smile he said yes and helped me out. Everything played out perfectly thanks to the helping hand of the staff :)

I have brunch here maybe once every two weeks, while I wouldn't go here expecting a fine dining experience, the chilaquilles with green sausage are great! There is actually spice in the sauce. The staff are friendly and the service good. Given the every growing dearth of affordable weekend places in Tribeca, this is a favorite.

There is an overabundance of mediocre Mexican restaurants that charge too much in Manhattan...and this is not one of them. This is a mediocre Mexican restaurant that charges a mediocre price. As far as Manhattan goes, one might even say Mariachi's is a value. I've been here several times, and while nothing has ever wowed me, nothing has ever disappointed me either. They don't skimp on portion size, and most dishes will not leave you wanting. They offer the whole gamut of Mexican offerings with the same 4-5 meat offerings that come on tortillas prepared/shaped in a different manner. Personally, I feel the steak here is a little weak, and would stick with the pork and chicken.

Giving this place 4 stars because of the service. Everyone was extremely nice and accomodating. Pretty decent prices and good food. I recommend if you are really hungover on a sunday afternoon.

They are okay. The service was very slow while the Real Madrid/Atletico match was on. I could see how it might be a cool place to watch soccer. Otherwise, it just isn't worth it. I had chorizo nachos which were pretty tasty but not a large enough portion for the price.
(3)
Santino S.
I've never given 5 stars to any mexican restaurant in New York because frankly non deserve it. Most are about 1 to 3 stars. Nothing different here. However, the thing about Mariachi is that it just feels good to eat there. I love the traditional mexican decor. My gf, son and I go every week and we always feel cozy here. They know all of our first names and have our chips, salsa, quac and, best of all, Micheladas ready to go within minutes of our arrival. I feel at home there and I love the people who work there. I watch professional soccer there with my son while he sips on a pina Jarrito and I sip a Bohemia beer. To me that's worth the extra star. The food is really really good but sometimes can be a bit inconsistent so I get that with some of the reviews. However, they will make and substitute whatever you want. I love this place.

I won't waste words on the terrible, inattentive service, the pithy food portions, or the bland, tasteless food with the weird unsettling after taste. Two words sums up why you shouldn't go here: FOOD POISONING Yeah, the horrible, violent kind that rips through you soon after you leave this establishment and your body has had enough time to figure out that you put something in there that should have been in the trash and not on your lunch plate. I had the carnitas tacos with a small sprinkling of stale rice and an even smaller sample of some sort of salad. The poorly filled tacos consisted of mostly cut up pork fat. No flavor. But, there was a strange aftertaste that my Coke just wasn't washing out of my mouth. I wish I knew which of these three items was the culprit, but does it really matter? I will NEVER eat here again, and I will loudly tell anyone with any sort of palate that they are in for a rude surprise if they choose to dine at this establishment. Save your tummy and eat elsewhere.

Great tasting at a great price. The staff is friendly. Have lunch here regularly. Highly recommend the Fish Tacos and El Costeno (Shrimp Burrito).

Sadly, not the best place for quality Mexican food. It seemed like they phoned in the whole experience. Food was subpar, salsa was watery, and the service was shoddy at best. We wanted it to work but the waitress forgot that we were there, she overcharged us for items that were later removed on our request, and it seemed like they were pandering to a tourist attendance. That was my experience. Hopefully yours will be better. I work locally, but probably would only return for drinks. Maybe.

5 stars again!! Im so happy that there is an authentic mexican restaurant near work! The staff is incredibly great!!! The food is as good as it gets. There salsas are made from all natural ingredients nothing canned as do their beans!! If you work near by or in need of taco fix, come here and btw did i mention they have Pozole?!!!

The food was delicious! The service ehhhh ok. I had the enchiladas poblanas, and as someone who is from Mexico to my surprise they were delicious. I will definitely try to come back. Hopefully the service will be bettwr

Satisfied my taco craving. They made ground beef tacos for me, even though it is not on the menu! A little under seasoned and lite on the filling but still good. I also ordered some chips and salsa, very good. Chunky and a touch of spice. I will be ordering again.

Not sure why this place has prohibitively low scores... I've been twice, and I can say as a TexMexican.. this place is A ok. There are even some healthy options!

My boyfriend and I stopped in last night for a quick dinner before a movie. I wish I gave Mariachi's a chance before now. It is delicious, fresh, Mexican food. The service was good, and the food had a unique flavor that set it apart from other Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood. Give it a try!

Excellent Tex-Mex food. I ate here with two very particular Texans who gave it big thumbs up. Had fish tacos, tostadas, and tamales. All great. Homemade salsa out of this world. Everything homemade. This is a real find.

Melani S.
Small potions, overpriced meals, very bland dishes and inattentive service. I wouldn't waste my time or money on this place. A place where they fill your water only halfway and charge 11+ dollars for a hand sized, plain cheese quesadilla, is not one I'm recommending or returning to.
(2)

This place is a hidden gem- I have been going to school in this area for a couple of years and never thought to check this place out. Food is well seasoned and very tasty. Drinks were pretty good as well. Not that I know about them, I will definitely be returning.

Had the chicken tacos. They were kinda bland and served without limes. They weren't bad, but as for being "authentic" I don't know. The price is decent for this area of downtown though I suppose. Also, the waiter was watching tv so hard it took him 10min to notice that I had arrived...

If you like authentic Mexican food then look no further. Alberto and Marco ensure that they crank out genuine tasting tacos, burritos, enchiladas, tamales, fajitas and more. A great spot for eat in or take out.

After a night out, a friend and I came here for lunch today, and it was "A-Okay!" I ordered the sopes from the brunch menu, and substituted a side of rice for the scrambled eggs (I have already had enough eggs for the week!) The tortillas were delicious, and the toppings were good, as was the side of rice. A word of warning, though. The orange juice is listed as "fresh-squeezed," but when I asked if it indeed is, the server was refreshingly candid with me, and told me that it is not. As a result, I forewent the juice and instead ordered a coffee, which was surprisingly good!

Solid food, good value and usually prompt service. Nothing fancy but a consistent, satisfying experience keeps me coming back regularly. I'm usually here on the weekends for lunch and it is never crowded which is nice. A nice inexpensive option which isn't too common in TriBeCa.

Cute little place but the food was a bit flavorless. The portions were small and the waitresses seemed to disappear. The salsa was good though :)

After a sweaty session at spin, the perfect protein small portion breakfast awaited for me at this cute Mexican restaurant. I had the Maya Omelette and it was amazing. Every bite exuded bursts of flavors that sent my senses on a pleasant ride, and i'm not talking about spin. =)

I would give this place a zero, too. No Mexican restaurant (or taco stand, for that matter) in my entire home State of California would have the nerve to serve the crappy food they serve here. They'd literally be laughed out of California. And to make matters worse, the rim of my (unwashed?!) plastic water cup was so salty I wanted to spit in disgust. I hope the owners are reading this.

A good quick sit down lunch. I had the shrimp enchiladas and they were pretty good. They give you 3 with rice for $10.50. The service was timely and friendly. It's a great deal. I would come here again.

I care tremendously about Mexican food whether it is a taco truck, a sit down with margaritas or food at home. I like that this resto is nearby and has the flavor of Mexico. Having toured this burgh in search of the "best taco" I can only eat Mex-influenced American dishes at this establishment - but not the tacos, quesadillas or burritos. I was happy with the "breakfast burrito", the omelette with chorizo, jalapeño, cheese, avocado. The Mexican dishes served here lack flavor and spice that I find elsewhere. For Mexican food, I go to other places. I come here for American food with a Mexican influence.

(4)R K.

(5)Rafael S.

Food's ok, but definitely a little pricey for your average Mexican food not impressed

this place is the best Mexican if you're looking for very good tex-mex traditional food. atmosphere is fun too! will always go back here for their delicious enchilada dinner!

(4)Russell B.

Decent food and friendly service, if you're looking for a quick, cheap lunch.

(2)Matt M.
Nice little downtown mexican spot that is great to dine in or pick up a quick lunch. I tried the enchiladas suizas, which tasted fresh and had a nice spicy green sauce. Nothing super special or high end, but it gets the job done.
(3)Philip L.

(1)J. K.

(1)S E.

(4)Lisa A.
Ahem.
(4)Konstantin V.
(2)Bo B.
(1)Jason N.
Terrible. A very sloppy and hastily thrown together burrito and tasteless streak quesadilla. Just go to Chipotle's a block away. The staff was very nice though.
(2)Mari P.
This was the worst Mexican food I've had so far. Food was beyond cold, it did not seem fresh. Their chorizo was unbearable.Their rice favlorless. Their torrillas horrible. This place was just horrible overall. DEFF ON THE AVOID LIST. Oh and the servers were creepy.
(1)Andrew D.
(2)Sylvia B.
(4)Jake L.
(2)Cathy Z.
(1)Paul D.
(2)William S.
(1)Erica L.
(3)T L.
(3)Mollie R.
Cheap too!
(4)Rommel H.
(2)Etta Y.
Wait. Whut? 2 out of 5 stars?? I just ordered the Fajitas Estilo Guadalajara through Seamlessweb and I was astounded that nobody had told me about this place before. Sautéed shrimp with a bit of cilantro to keep things tasting fresh, rice and beans, guac, crema, and some grilled veg, served with copious amounts of tasty (if a bit too liquid) salsa and 3 piping hot, soft tortillas. Don't know if I was lucky or just STARVING but it was a really satisfying Monday night dinner.
(4)Juan F.
(2)Christopher R.
(2)Nihaahs E.
Outstanding home style cooking. This place is a total find in an area where there simply isn't that much good food! What a nice surprise. Great food, outstanding service. Great price!
(5)Sravan T.
Food was just ok. Service was just normal, nothing fancy abt this place. Tried mole chicken, was just average. Chips/salsa was below avrg
(2)Rachelle R.
all I know is that I made a lunch order on a Friday afternoon using my debit card. this was the only charge in about a month I had made without having to enter a security code or my PIN. about twelve hours later, fraudulent charges started showing up on my card that I did not notice until Tuesday afternoon - the total amount being just short of $1500. I am not saying for sure that someone from this restaurant made these fraudulent charges on my debit card, but it is the only logical explanation. Please, when ordering from this restaurant, DO NOT use a credit or debit card, just to be safe.
(1)Caitlin B.
I got delivery chicken fajitas from here... just as good as delivery can be. The food was still warm, and they listened and gave me salsa rather than sour cream. A-OK. The salsa was a little watery though.
(3)Bryan U.
(4)Fahid K.
(2)B Y.
(3)Geraldine K.
(3)jorge v.
Very good food but not great. Very affordable and friendly service. Chips and salsa are very good. The chicken tamales are great, as are the mole enchiladas. I'm usually really disappointed with Mexican food in the city, but this restaurant is now definitely on my roster of regular places to eat or order from.
(4)Natasha B.
(2)Neesha M.
(3)Lindsay N.
(2)Melody H.
(4)Mandy F.
Pretty good Mexican food and reasonably priced. Ingredients tasted fresh and food was actually reasonably spicy unlike a lot of Mexican restaurants.
(3)Jennifer Y.

(4)Thomas R.
Food was great! Reason for loosing a star, service could have been better both of our drinks ran out and didn't get refilled. Other than that I recommend this place for authentic mexican.
(4)Matthew N.
(3)Robert T.
Thought it was an average place until they recently changed policies and started to charge for their chips and salsa ($3.50 now). Not cool.
(1)Annie E.
Love this place. Yummy food, nice people working here, good service. You won't be wowed by the atmosphere but you'll be satisfied and full when you leave. And my bet is, you'll be back.
(4)Howard M.
Not sure what to expect, I dined here last night with my son. Definately not the typical suburban mexican place. The food tasted like authentic mexican sans the beans and rice filler most mexican places try to fill their patrons up on. When in the neighborhood, I would eat there again.
(4)carissa l.
I just went back and wanted to say that, ESPECIALLY for the price, this place is solid. I have had quite a few things on the menu so far and I haven't been disappointed by any. more importantly, there is always something my daughter wants to eat here and the service is always friendly.
(4)Phillip L.
(4)Eliza C.

(1)Pooja P.
(2)Amy Y.
(3)Ann B.
I heart Mexican Brunch. It may not be the best ever, but it's tasty and it's an easy stumble away on a Sunday morning.
(4)Rick K.
Very average Mexican food, but I haven't been able to do better in the area. I have been here countless times and everything is decent but nothing is noteworthy. It's a bit expensive for what you get as well, but I guess that should be expected in Tribeca.
(3)Lauren B.
Underwhelming standard Mexican fare... but the delivery is fast and the guacamole is fresh (and spicy!).
(3)Oscar T.
Pretty good food, decent prices, casual atmosphere. Great place for brunch
(4)A H.
(4)Larry H.
(4)Enise M.
absolutely love this place! good homestyle cooking! family atmosphere! I have become a regular on Fridays with my son who attends college two blocks away . Its nice that the owner knows what we are drinking and places the orders right away, since we have about an hour to eat.
(4)H H.
Everything.
(3)Niki S.
Would have to disagree with the first reviewer - Little Place is a pleasant mexican lunch place that serves clean, fresh food (sometimes Mexican places in New York can weigh you down with grease and cream). Lunch dishes are around $8-9, which in the neighborhood is quite good. A work favorite for me,
(5)Danny H.
WTF?
(1)Chinku G.
Ordered from here twice. Pretty expensive and some of the food - like the tacos are just poor. I can't say I love everything about mary anns, but it's light years in front of this place, and just as expensive.
(4)Amy T.
(4)Derrick S.
do you like shit in your shrimp? de-vein your shrimp mariachi's!
(1)Dennis P.
Best Mexican food south of canal. Great service and a friendly place to eat. Plus it is reasonable in price.
(4)Alexa P.
(1)Alexandra L.
(4)Chelsy W.
Good late night need mexican food/beer. Super close the the Cosmopolitan Hotel
(4)Augie R.
(3)Meena S.
(1)Kate O.
not earth-shattering but perfect for comfort food. the price is a little high but considering the location... understandable for those nyc rents! and i will gladly pay the higher price to have a no-frills quality establishment like this. the portions are well sized and the food is simple. what shines the most for me is the energetic staff, the relaxed atmosphere, and the incredibly approachable menu! the menu doesn't dumb things down for newbie mexican foodies but it does add in nice educational info in a way that i easy to read compared to other mexican menu monstrosities i've encountered! enjoying my horchata & chorizo burrito. this place would be great for an after work happy hour dinner party!
(4)Jemimah A.
(1)Gipan D.
Terrible. 20% tip for crap service. Food was ok felt like it was on the healthier side but i shouldnt have to ask my chips and salsa. Thats a given at a mexican restaurant. Overall not good and aggravating
(2)Cesar E.
(5)Anna S.
(5)Dennis L.
(3)Frank Luigi M.
Giving this place 4 stars because of the service. Everyone was extremely nice and accomodating. Pretty decent prices and good food. I recommend if you are really hungover on a sunday afternoon.
(4)Marisa C.
They are okay. The service was very slow while the Real Madrid/Atletico match was on. I could see how it might be a cool place to watch soccer. Otherwise, it just isn't worth it. I had chorizo nachos which were pretty tasty but not a large enough portion for the price.
(3)Santino S.
(4)Katherine I.
(1)Jose Ben T.
Great tasting at a great price. The staff is friendly. Have lunch here regularly. Highly recommend the Fish Tacos and El Costeno (Shrimp Burrito).
(5)Christian A.
Maybe.
(2)Rukiya G.
They're OK. Nothing to go crazy about. It's just filling, time passing food.
(2)Jorge R.
(5)Cindy H.
The food was delicious! The service ehhhh ok. I had the enchiladas poblanas, and as someone who is from Mexico to my surprise they were delicious. I will definitely try to come back. Hopefully the service will be bettwr
(3)Mekcoco G.
Satisfied my taco craving. They made ground beef tacos for me, even though it is not on the menu! A little under seasoned and lite on the filling but still good. I also ordered some chips and salsa, very good. Chunky and a touch of spice. I will be ordering again.
(3)Marissa N.
Not sure why this place has prohibitively low scores... I've been twice, and I can say as a TexMexican.. this place is A ok. There are even some healthy options!
(4)Alicia M.
(5)Susan M.
Excellent Tex-Mex food. I ate here with two very particular Texans who gave it big thumbs up. Had fish tacos, tostadas, and tamales. All great. Homemade salsa out of this world. Everything homemade. This is a real find.
(5)Melani S.
Small potions, overpriced meals, very bland dishes and inattentive service. I wouldn't waste my time or money on this place. A place where they fill your water only halfway and charge 11+ dollars for a hand sized, plain cheese quesadilla, is not one I'm recommending or returning to.
(2)Tiffany L.
This place is a hidden gem- I have been going to school in this area for a couple of years and never thought to check this place out. Food is well seasoned and very tasty. Drinks were pretty good as well. Not that I know about them, I will definitely be returning.
(4)Me E.
Had the chicken tacos. They were kinda bland and served without limes. They weren't bad, but as for being "authentic" I don't know. The price is decent for this area of downtown though I suppose. Also, the waiter was watching tv so hard it took him 10min to notice that I had arrived...
(2)Bradley H.
If you like authentic Mexican food then look no further. Alberto and Marco ensure that they crank out genuine tasting tacos, burritos, enchiladas, tamales, fajitas and more. A great spot for eat in or take out.
(4)Justin P.
Ate here for lunch today. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and quick. I would def come back. I recommend the chimichanga.
(5)Miss C.
Forst time having authentic Mexican food and it was great. I went on my lunch break from work and it was not swarmed with people. Service was timely and normal. I had a chimichanga. Loved it. Would definitely go back.
(5)Rebecca G.
(3)Chang P.
Solid food, good value and usually prompt service. Nothing fancy but a consistent, satisfying experience keeps me coming back regularly. I'm usually here on the weekends for lunch and it is never crowded which is nice. A nice inexpensive option which isn't too common in TriBeCa.
(4)Lilly R.
Cute little place but the food was a bit flavorless. The portions were small and the waitresses seemed to disappear. The salsa was good though :)
(3)Sui B.
(5)Jia H.
(1)Whitney P.
A good quick sit down lunch. I had the shrimp enchiladas and they were pretty good. They give you 3 with rice for $10.50. The service was timely and friendly. It's a great deal. I would come here again.
(3)Phil G.
