I lived in Mexico for years. This food is very good. The service sucks, some of the waitresses can't even get the most simple request right, even in perfect spanish, but I tolerate it because they serve food and beer until about 3am. Also for lonely drunk men, the waitresses will sit and eat with you if you want. Weird... I go for the very good authentic and cheap food, and cans of Modelo Especial.

Food is decent, but it's hard to get full here. Then again, with these prices, you could just order more. Service is uneven, sometimes attentive & sometimes you have to break your neck trying to make eye contact so you can ask for something. I'd rather be here than paying $18-30 for plates at Cascalote, though.

Definitely try these first two items: Chile relleno, 4/5 stars:, came w carrots, and my eating partner remarked that it almost tasted like pumpkin ginger soup. I have not had a lot of chile relleno, and but this was nice. Carne enchilada tacos, 4/5: really nice flavor combination, well done. Rice and beans, 3/5 Bistec taco, 2.5/5: serviceable flavor, but the meat was a little tough. Chorizo taco and sope, 2/5: the chorizo almost tasted like chili to me, which is really not what I want when I order chorizo. Not bad, not special.

Beware of this place. They charged me five dollars for a soda!!!. Terrible food and horrible service.

Firstly, I want to say I have full respect for this place. But, I never know whether or not it's open when I go in since it's usually empty or has one table full of men drinking small Coronas at 10am. That doesn't stop me from enjoying a hearty breakfast here whenever I want to dash over to breakfast without showering. The truth hurts doesn't it. No but seriously, the breakfast here is pretty good, and I always like their fresh squeezed O.J. Oh, I recommend the eggs scrambled with ham which comes with rice, beans and tortillas. My b/f and I walk out of there for under a $20 spot including tip.
