So I will preface that I went to Bing's on restaurant week 2015 and my expectations were lower because in my opinion, the purpose of restaurant week is to get patrons in to sample the food. I expect smaller portions for dishes that are more expensive and I expect a higher influx of people as well. With that being said, I have mixed feelings about my experience. My friends and I (party of 5) made reservations for 7pm and had arrived on time. We were told they needed a few minutes to get the table together. Now Bing's is not a really big place, it has that home turned into a restaurant feel for me. Anyway, within 15 minutes, more people with reservations came in, including a much older party of 5. I say older because they were at least double our age (50s) and the overall crowd there was older (40-50 year olds). They were immediately complaining loudly about the wait, even though they just got there. 40 minutes later, we were finally seated, at the same time as the older party. We were given a "hope you enjoy your meal" by the owners, while he then sat down to chitchat with the older group, buying them a round of drinks. They were really friendly and warm toward the older crowd and we only got an obligatory "How's everything?" in passing. Also, the older table got their orders and food before us- which annoys me immensely because we were there first and there was such disparity of treatment. We sat for 10 more minutes before we got water. No drink menu, just a couple of house wines. Fountain drinks were charged per drink but they never made any notion to tell us that. We only found out when we got the bill. Wines were mediocre but I guess better than nothing. Took another 10-15 minutes for our orders to be taken. The salad, both house and caesar were just ok- nothing special. The crab cakes and coconut shrimp were delicious. The sorbet was interesting. For entrees, we had the salmon, rack of lambs, steak, chicken parm and stuffed chicken breast. All were really tasty. Portions were fair, but again, it's restaurant week so I expected it to be smaller (or at least I hope that it will be bigger if it's a full priced $20+ entree!) Dessert was ok, but in all fairness, they had run out of what we really wanted to try. We ended up with cannolis and cassata cake- which wasn't bad, but I can see why they were the last ones left. All in all, it depends on what you're looking for. This is a much slower service restaurant, which could be because of the local age population that goes there regularly. I get it, when I eat out, I want to enjoy my meal too. But I feel basic seating and water should be an almost immediate thing. Secondly, I feel like because my friends and I are a younger group compared to everyone else there, and the fact that we "look young" they were dismissive of us to begin with. Lastly, service was terrible. There was one waitress for the whole restaurant that night, and granted, the two owners appeared to help here and there with the water, it was just a long wait for everything- including utensils and glasses! I can't tell if it's the way it always is, or if they're just not used to so much business. We didn't get charged for our extra appetizers, but they never said anything to us, and with the way the night went, and the fact that it was almost 10 pm, we stopped caring and just made sure we left a good tip to cover the cost of it. All in all, it was an ok experience. Because the food was tasty, we're contemplating on going back on a regular night.

Dinner was pretty good. The staff couldn't decide whose table we belonged to. What really ticked me off when the bill came my Kettle 1 Martini was $16.00. That is absolutely outrageous. If I was in NYC, maybe. This place will never see me again.

In my book this place is kind of average. The setting is cute, warm, and cozy. It may be a bit overdecorated for my taste, but a lot of people like that sort of thing. The service is good enough, but not great. Same for the food. The desserts are made in house and are pretty good, but really nothing to write home about. I had dinner here (again) this past Saturday night with my favorite dining companion (because we had....yup...you guessed it.... a coupon). The wine list and dinner menu are quite complete and all dinners come with bread, salad, and sorbet to cleanse the palate before the main course (I LOVE THAT!). The salad was nice and crisp with high quality greens and a nice house balsamic vinaigrette. The bread (why are two people given three little slices....are we supposed to duel for the remaining one, split it, leave it in the little wicker basket?) was cold (again, why?). The sorbet (VERY puckery lemon) was DELICIOUS and a nice touch. I had the manicotti because the menu's description of it being light homemade crepes (instead of the usual pasta tube-y things) sounded interesting. It was quite good.... and light. The tomato sauce over the top was a bit chunky and VERY GOOD. The filling had a hint of mint. Interesting! My companion's pasta and peas was a disappointment. VERY BLAND. The dessert tray held the usuals and all were reportedly housemade. We opted for one slice of Cassata Cake to share. The cake was nicely dense and the ricotta filling was PERFECT. But, the berries sandwiched in the middle were a distraction at best.

Good food. A nice place for everyone, except the impatient. My gluten free and vegan dinner (vegan pesto with pine nuts) had so much flavor. The ingredients are fresh. Drawback? This place is mellow so if you're in need of a quick meal, try someplace else.

Expensive, elfin portions, average food and poor service.

Let me start out by saying that my food was wonderful. We were a party of four with three different meals (2 were specials) pasta and fish. Pasta was cooked al dente which was perfect and the fish was full of flavor. Salad was good; nothing spectacular but good. The drinks were good HOWEVER we waited 20 minutes for drinks, including water, and menus. We were told there was a party of 10 and they had used all the glasses. I literally watched the bartender wash each glass and make a drink. - four times!!!!! For as long as Bings has been around, I'm very surprised they couldn't handle a large table along with other tables. And yes, we had reservations. Would I go back? Yes. The food was well worth the wait.

This review is for their booth they put on for Taste of Buffalo. Their "GOO" (vanilla ice cream w/ oreos & caramel) won best overall item which tasted pretty much exactly like it sounds. It was good but not "best overall item"-good.

Went on 3/29/2012, with two friends. We were greeted at the door with a smile and a warm welcome by the owner. which really sets the tone for the night. My friends and I were looking for good food and good conversation in a nice, quiet atmosphere. And we got got. This week just happen to be restaurant week. for $20.12 you received a soup, salad an appetizer a sorbet to cleanse your pallet and a entree and the portions was not small. The selection of items was good and it tasted good. My 2 friends had the fish fry. They said it was Delicious and the portions was large. The desert selection was awesome. I friend ordered a dessert that I think was called grud. It was a mixture of all desserts offered. topped with whipped cream. My friend said it was to die for. I also think this restaurant is great for date night. It just have this wonderful feel. I recommend this restaurant for good food and adult fun.
