The waiter's name is Tom not Sam and he is a one man show. He is the busboy, the waiter, the host, the cashier, the singer, the dancer, and we all love it. The food and staff The food is delicious and we had the opportunity to meet the owner and the Chef and they are equally amazing. The Wait Because the food is cooked with fresh ingredients from scratch it might take a little longer than usual but when you receive your food it is well worth the wait. Our recommendation We highly recommend this restaurant it is one of the best kept secrets in Brooklyn, New York. This is old-fashioned Chinese food that we all remember so dearly. They are closed on Sunday and open at 11 AM Mon-Sat. More about Tom By the way he doesn't write anything down and can take an order of 20 people without using a pen and pad he is a super genius.

I really enjoyed this place and Tom the waiter, host, busboy and DJ. If anyone hears about Tom working somewhere else of them reopening please post it!

You enter Choy Le and notice that it is one of the old school style chinese restaurants. It has a long line of booths on one side and tables and chairs on the other. The main attraction however is Tommy. Tommy is the man who greets you and seats you, he is your waiter and at the end of it all he is your cashier. Yes, he is the entire staff and is awesome. Tonight was my first time ever being here and I went with a hot and sour soup, an egg roll, and bbq spare ribs. All were so delicous and the spare ribs were amazing! That is something to order every time you are there. Looking forward to tasting other dishes at Choy Le

His name is Sam, he is about 80 years old and is the only waiter in the entire restaurant, he runs back and fourth and has the funniest way on commenting on everything from what you ordered to what your wearing. It is old school Chinese every dish has been great, and do you remember when egg roles became bite size? Not here!! I don't know if I keep going back for the food or Sam's stand up comedian act!! Closed Sundays. Prices are old school!! Love this place!

My boyfriend talked this place up as the best in the neighborhood and I really wanted to like my food but it just fell flat. The hot and sour soup wasn't very good at all, probably once of the worst I've had. Also had garlic scallops - very few of them in a large container, mostly onions, and the scallops tasted like cardboard and there was way too much brown sauce, it was spilling everywhere. My boyfriend enjoyed his beef and said he has always had really good food here. Otherwise, service was good - quick delivery. Might give this place another chance but the items I tried were very disappointing.

Great place great food, this reminds me of the Chinese food restaurants that operated when I was a kid. You sit down fresh noodles at the table, hot tea and the portions are big and the food is fresh although they might mess up the order once in a while. The waiter is great and sings your order back to you.

I think they closed, the place has been locked and all the curtains drawn for 2 weeks. All of the signs have been taken down. I hope it is temporary.

Nice family owned Chinese American Restaurant which has been here for decades. I've been going here for years and the food here is great and at a fair price . The wait staff is exceptionally nice and friendly and know me by name. I would recommend this for a family get together, date night or for their lunch specials.

A typical neighborhood family hangout. Good food, friendly service, felt welcome there. I only had the basics -- hot and sour soup, an egg roll, and pork fried rice -- so I can't speak to any of the restaurant's more exotic offerings. But what I did have didn't disappoint. Quality comfort food.

Great little chinese restaurant where you can still sit and eat good food. Large portions. Service is slow (they have one waiter who is very friendly) but worth it if your not in a rush and want to relax. You can always have it delivered.

A nice little neighborhood place. The food is good and the portions are large. The service is slow, but it's a great place to sit and relax with friends and family without being rushed. I know that they serve beer but I'm not sure about anything else. You don't need a reservation but I would recommend that you call, if you have a large party. Enjoy.

One of the old-style Cantonese restaurants I grew up with, but hard to find now. The food is good, and is enhanced by their homemade mustard. If you relish the buzz it gives you, then Choy Le is your place. They serve my all time fave, Chicken Kew. Closed on Sundays, except for Mothers Day.
