Went occasionally when grandkids were smaller. Just recently (March 2014) with group of six. No problem getting three separate checks. Immediate seating. Drinks and orders came within good time. No long waits. Lunchtime discount for seniors, plus free small ice cream sundae for seniors. Wow! I like that. Staff exceptionally pleasant and accommodating. Food was good and attractively presented.

The Tuna Melt sandwich was good. The tuna was fresh. The wait time was a little excessive.

With hopes of a cold bowl of ice cream clouding my vision as a I drove through Corning towards my home in Rochester, I pulled into the Corning Friendly's parking lot. It looked busy, but I was shocked to find we couldn't even get through the door due to people waiting to be seated. Dirty, vacant tables surrounded the waiting herd as a variety of workers seemed to putz around the kitchen area. While one young man made a valiant attempt to clear all the tables himself, the ladies who 'worked' here slowly seated the crowd. No names were taken- just 'who was first?' Each time a waitress decided she had time to seat another group. As the herd thinned, I was dismayed to see that a group of 4 recovers special treatment by a waitress who suddenly decided she was able to work- and seated this 4some who walked in 2 groups after us before everyone else. She then proceeded to return to... Doing a whole lot of nothing. Anyways, after being seated, waiting a bit to order, ordering, waiting a lengthy period to be served our ice cream, we were given 'FrenZies' (a Friendly's specialty) which were NOT blended. Because our waitress made a sport out of avoiding serving her 2 designated tables, my boyfriend had to walk up to the counter to remind the workers to blend the FrenZies for us... At which point the ice cream maker told us that the blenders were all broken... For real?! Friendly's has enough choice that we would have chosen something else had we known. Another cute tidbit was the observation that our waitress was vacant from our lives because se was eating an enormous Sundae. Hope she enjoyed it, because our experience here was LAME.

Great tasting food although when my g/f and I got back home within an hour our stomach's were hurting and took turns going to the bathroom for the next three hours.....

Ok. So the food is always good, and im never disappointed. But, tonight my mom and I decided to go to friendlys for dinner. We do this every Sunday and always have a good experience. Last week we requested a server who is very sweet and personable, and overall nice to be around. Another waitress who frequently serves us overheard us request the nice server and took it personally. She shot us dirty looks throughout our meal, but after that we forgot about it. We came back this week, and she still had an overwhelming grudge against us. She was scheduled to be our server, and when she saw us, turned around and went in the kitchen and refused to serve us. Throughout our meal again, she was shooting us dirty looks, and that continued on. Our servers shift was over, and we could hear her console our server into staying and serving us so she wouldn't have to. The manager took over. We then informed the manager of this happening, and Casey (the nasty waitress) immediately stopped shooting us looks (for the time being) and changed her face to a beet red, and looked like she was going to start and ball. The manager kindly gave us 15% off our meal, and gave us a coupon for our next visit (if there is one). We paid and left and as we were pulling out, we could see Casey glaring at our vehicle through the glass with a nasty look on her face. Needless to say, I would never "cross" Casey the waitresses line. You will be in for a very awkward and unpleasant experience!
