This has been my favorite restaurant on Arthur Avenue since 2005. Food is simply great with a large selection of entrees. Can't go wrong with the veal dishes or the braciole and cavatellis.

After getting my family excited about going to Little Italy for brunch, I had to make promises to make up for it afterwards. I used to eat here a lot many years ago. I even had large parties here for my office. So it was very shocking to me that the food was so disappointing. We ordered lasagna and chicken cutlet dishes. The ingredients were definitely fresh. The issue was that the food was flavorless. The stale bread should've been an indicator that we were in for a less than pleasant experience. At $25 per plate, and so many options on Arthur Ave, I'm not so sure about a second chance here.

After a lovely time enjoying the orchids at the Botanical Gardens how can you miss not enjoying some good Italian cuisine on Arthur Blvd? We were hungry and it was early so many of the restaurants weren't open yet for dinner service. Luckily Pasquale was open and menu satisfied everyone. The restaurant looked much bigger with the mirrored wall and pleasant interior. Our peppy server was funny and ready to take our order. We had the veal and lamb shank entrée and my other friend had the pasta and calamari. The pasta cooked al dente and the shanks was tender and well seasoned. All the entrees could easily be shared by two people. It was a good day in the Bronx. Lots of flower photography and a satisfying Italian dinner. Now it was time to get back on the train head home.

Just went here after not being there for a few years. The party I went with ordered many different pastas and entrees to do a family style dinner. Their fettuccine alfredo and tortellini was very good. However, I was very disappointed in the penne al vodka. The sauce was not as creamy as I would have liked and was very plain. Also, chicken parm is one of my favorite italian dishes and unfortunately it was not what I was expecting at Rigolettos. The cheese and the sauce was tasteless and I couldn't even finish the dish. However, I would recommend their calamari. Overall, I think there are other restaurants on arthur avenue that exceed here.

Great atmosphere! The bartender is great! Food was excellent and fairly priced. Would highly recommend this place for dinner!

Our parents loved this restaurant the first time we went and the second visit was even better. This place is Arthur Ave at its finest. The food is amazing and the service is very attentive and generous. Our servers brought us out several plates of the bruschetta and cheese appetizer with no complaints. At the end I asked to buy one of the delicious loaves of bread and was given it on the house. We had wonderful wine and my parents' Osso buco dinners were quite a spectacle. I am never disappointed with this area which is really the gem of the Bronx. You won't get better Italian food anywhere.

As we were eatting there was a roach that came on the table. Told an employee and he didn't seen shocked or cared. Noone even Apologized he acted like nothing happened and asked do you guys want to stay for coffee or dessert? Never again.

My family and I have been coming here for years but my most recent visit was probably my last. The experience of eating at Pasquales used to be impeccable, from start to finish; when you sat down you'd be greeted with warm bread and olive oil for dipping, and big chunks of salty parmesan put right down on the table. The food was all fantastic, especially the pesto, which I remember as creamy and savory and very fresh. We were there on Mother's Day, which I know is not a great time to visit any restaurant, and Pasquales was predictably swamped. We had a reservation and they were great about seating us early but after that things sort of deteriorated. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and we had to ask several times for basic things like silverware and parmesan. We ordered two appetizers, a tri-colore salad and one of the specials, stuffed artichoke. The salad was pretty tasty, very fresh and crunchy, but the artichoke was watery, and somewhat bland. Even worse, if hadn't been cleaned properly; we could feel grit in our teeth. When our main courses arrived things definitely improved--if there is an area where Pasquale's excels it's in their pasta dishes, but even so my pesto didn't live up to my first impression (though it was still good, and the portions are big enough for 4 meals). My boyfriend's carbonara was fabulous though, I had order envy when I tried his dish. Pasquales, I have some awesome memories but I think it's probably time to move on and try some new spots on Arthur Avenue.

What a disappointment..... We were quickly seated, and they brought over bruschetta and cheese that were delicious. Then, we were left hanging... Instead of someone coming over to introduce themselves as our waiter, they came over confused and asked if anyone took our order. We order the beef carpaccio appetizer, it was good, but the beef was served too cold, almost frozen. Then we shared the Gnocci and the Veal Marsala entrees. The Gnocci was good, the sauce was a bit bland. The Veal was served cold. No one came by to ask how the food was or if we wanted anything else. We would have had another round of drinks, if someone took the time to ask. Then we were stuck waiting for the check! With so many Italian restaurants in the area, I will choose another one the next time I go to Arthur avenue.

My favorite place on Arthur! I went to Fordham and first ate here with my parents six years back on accepted students day. The bruschetta and chunks of Parmesan they bring to the table are a really nice touch. Mozz en corrozza is delicious. I typically don't deviate from chicken parm when I eat at Italian restaurants, but I've tried their chicken rigoletto and it is decadent. It's breaded chicken topped with prosciutto and mozzarella - yum! It's a great, authentic experience.

  • Jamy D.

The food is amazing, but after going three times for their delicious spinach pasta with peas and sauce dish, the experience with the service was progressively worse. The same waiter always acted like he didn't want to be there and we were inconveniencing him. The third and last time I went, I found a roach in my water and didn't get more than a brief apology.

Came here for dinner with friends and was not impressed with this restaurant. I know Arthur ave is known for its Italian restaurants so I was definitely expecting more. After we were seated, the waiter brought over bruschetta, cheese and a basket of bread. I enjoyed all three. For dinner I ordered what I read as fettuccine with tomatoes and basil but what I got was fettuccine with red sauce smh. I did not enjoy it at all. I ordered grilled chicken with the pasta and the grilled chicken was extremely dry.. I must say that my entrée was an utter disappointment. For dessert I had pumpkin spice cheesecake which was absolutely delicious, I want to buy the whole cake for the holidays lol. The service was extremely attentive even with an engagement party in the next room. I probably am not going back though unless I just go for the pumpkin spice cheesecake lol.

Nasty, unfriendly service. I'm not sensitive & don't need my ass kissed, but they're just rude & mean. The only one that acts decent is the blonde lady with pink hair. I liked my chicken parm but my friend got the ravioli and it was nothing special. The sauce was very watery. I enjoyed the baby calamari but the baked clams were NOT good. Entertainment was fun, but service was one of the worst places in the outer boroughs. I am born & raised in Brooklyn & the outer boroughs restaurants are usually nice & genuine-not here.

A-ok about sums it up. The person I was with REALLY talked with place up so I had fairly high expectations. The surrounding area is charming - lots of little butcher shops, a fresh fish store and some bakeries, plus the excellent Arthur Ave Market. Rigoletto does have an advantage over some of the other places on the street as has a private parking lot. Our lunch started off with a small plate of freshly made bruschetta and some chunks of cheese from a wheel in the center of the dining area. It was delicious. The actual entrees?? Well...it was pretty "ok". I had pesto linguine and it was about average. I liked the bit of red pepper that was in the sauce but overall the dish lacked flavor - a little salt probably would have helped. My partner got a slab of salmon with a mustard sauce and green beans - the fish was cooked very nicely but the sauce wasn't the best complement to the fish -it was a little overpowering. Service? Nice but not terribly attentive. Portions? Ginormous - and this is coming from a Midwestern girl. Ambiance? Well, I can't speak for the evenings but there were certainly some "characters" hanging out that looked a lot like Uncle Junior and may or may not have been discussing show-no work construction jobs. All in all, I certainly enjoyed Rigoletto as an experience. Don't go expecting the best Italian food ever - go and expect decent Italian-American food in a "old school" neighborhood and you'll be very happy.

  • Robert D.

Real old school italian food. I read one review that the people or service wasn't good. Those people must be from the Midwest and don't understand the Bronx. This is our favorite place to eat on Arthur Ave. The service is fist class and the food never disappoints. We never go to Little Italy anymore. This is the real deal

It was good for lunch. The waitstaff was attentive and the food was pretty good. I was pleased that they offered to make me a vegetarian dish not on the menu. My friends had 2 chicken specials and they thought they were very good. Calamari was tasty too. Nice big portions. Price is right on for location and quality. Found parking during the day on the street w no problem.

  • Natalie R.

To start off I went for lunch and was seated right away- the bread, bruschetta and cheese are amazing! Pasta is homemade fresh and delicious, the gnocchi filling was under seasoned as well as the bolognese it was missing something; the Alfredo sauce with the fettuccine was quite tasty - definitely try this. Prices for lunch were a little more then expected and server wasn't very attentive although the restaurant was not busy for lunch.

  • Sandy A.

Service was good, pork osso bucco was ok the potatoes on the side had more of a taste then the meat itself. Chicken parm was ok seafood dish was good. But I will tell you that the desert "cheesecake" was amazing. I've heard a lot about this place so we tried but not worth the 200$ bill...pass on this one go to Dominic's but before you walk in know what you want lol.

Fantastic! My boyfriend worked for a longtime as a wine distributor in New York City and he (an Italian ) said that this was the best Italian in the city. 2 seconds after we sat down I nudes too why he said it. Our appetizers and homemade bread were unreal. Then, I was absolutely blown away by how incredible my calamari pasta was.

  • elsi p.

So Caprese not so good. Calamari were rubbery, we asked them to take them away, I've been in hospitality so I know not to flat out say I hate it. They didn't even ask if wanted it to go, was it ok, I mean we left the entire plate full. I ordered cheese ravioli also underwhelming. I have to add as always that I'm a huge foodie and LOVE Italian everything and this isn't it ;( however it was recommended so I'm assuming maybe other items are better. Staff is very friendly though. OH they have really great cheese when you first sit down it's served with oil and tomato and carved when you walk in.

The waiter and staff are very friendly along with the valet parking. However , very disappointed with the food. We drove down from Orange County to have good food . The stuffed artichoke was dry with no taste, the lamb asobuco was bland. My friends had the veal parmigiana which for the high price was again disappointing! We know they can do better on the Flavors. The restaurant was busy and had a fun environment, But for the price , we could of ate local and had a better meal and saved money! Sorry ,

Not the greatest Italian restaurant on Arthur Ave, but definitely better than other restaurants in the area. I am basing this review off of the expertise that I expected here. After coming here a few times, we just decided not to come back for a few reasons, although I would want them to redeem themselves so I could keep coming back. The famous thing here is the cheese that is hand-scooped right out of the giant cheese wheel. Served with bread, some olive oil for taste. Quite delicious, actually, coming from a person who only likes select cheeses. Very loud place, even if there aren't many people in there. Not the most romantic dinner I ever had, but this type of restaurant aims for that glorious ambiance and a decadent dining experience. Once, we supposedly intruded on a party of maybe 15 people or so, but we literally sat one table in front of them. Service didn't accommodate us well, like it was our problem that we were put in this situation. The service didn't try to calm anything down either. Overall, not romantic at all, but quite beautifully painted walls and service was decent. Pricing is reasonable to expensive, but you could find a bit better pricing somewhere else. The menu is authentic, but quite limited. Caesar salad is amazing. Chicken parmigiana was quite good, except the chicken could be a little rough. The flavors are ones of authentic Italian cooking. Great place if you enjoy the lively crowd, but if you want a romantic dinner, go somewhere else. Service: 3 stars Food: 4 stars Decor: 4.5 stars Ambiance: 3 stars

Arthur Avenue has some really amazing, authentic Italian restaurants. Pasquale's is very middle of the road. As a Fordham alum, I've dined at a fair amount of restaurants in the area. I've had better and I've had worse. Apparently people go to Pasquale's for the famous Parmesan cheese wheel. Once the wheel is finished for the day you're SOL. Unfortunately this happened on my most recent experience and as I sat at the table I wondered what I was still doing there. The fresh made pasta is return trip worthy. The Fettuccine Matriciana is a standout on the menu. Fresh pasta really made the dish. We also tried Pollo alla Sorrentina which was pretty good, but could have been better. I think the sauce was lacking. The prices are reasonable and the service is kind of flat. Food and drinks come out quick but the wait staff seems miserable.

Delish! A co-worker and I recently stopped in for lunch and really enjoyed our meals. The basket of bread that was brought to us was your typical cheap, white baguette, but the homemade pasta was delicious. I got mine with a simple marinara and she got hers with a spicy tomato sauce and both were delicious. The place was buzzing on a Friday afternoon and the service was fast and friendly in a very old-school Italian New Yorker sort of way.

My first Arthur Ave experience was A-OK! After reading the reviews, my table of 3 decided to split a few entrees. Be sure to ask how the specials are prepared. The names seemed a bit vague but we were glad we asked because we ordered a couple of them and they were quite good. The portion sizes were generous. The prices were a bit high. I would recommend ordering at least one entree or pasta dish per person in addition to one appetizer per 2 people. The bruschetta and cheese on the table were a nice touch of old world Italian-American comfort. On a weeknight, we got right in and it was not busy at all. I definitely would like to try other restaurants in the area before coming back here.

We wandered into Pasquale's during an exploratory stroll down Arthur Avenue. We were seated right away. This was a Saturday evening and I was struck by how electric the ambiance was. Lots of people enjoying their meals and conversation. There was also the sounds of a live singer belting out Italian standards in a distant room. Anthony, our waiter, was warm and infectiously friendly. We felt welcomed and appreciated. We ordered lentil soup and chicken soup for appetizers and each had penne with a spicy red sauce for entree. My daughter enjoyed her lentils and I LOVED the chicken soup. It had abundant huge chunks of chicken breast and tiny meatballs. Delicious, and a copious portion. Along with bread and butter, a little plate of bruschetta and a large wedge of sharp cheese was placed on our table. This was very tasty. The entrees were delicious. Perfect pasta with a wonderful heat-filled tomato sauce laced with fresh peppers. I would have loved to try the amazing looking cheesecakes but I was too stuffed to even consider it. Our total bill for dinner was $57. This was a tremendous bargain considering the quality of the food, the large portions, the lively atmosphere filled with customers enjoying themselves, and a truly engaging waiter. We left extremely happy, and that's what dining out is all about. I wish I could give this place a sixth star. I can't wait to return.

"MEH" After reading so many wonderful reviews, six of us decided to have a night out on Arthur Avenue. What a disappointment! On a positive note-the atmosphere is fun and full of New York energy. We had drinks at the bar to start and they were fine (I guess you can't mess up a Peroni). There is also a "music room" which it seems you have to request when you make your reservation. There was a lot of singing going on in there and it did seem like fun but our group was not in the singing mood as the meal got started. First the service-Meh. We spent more time looking for our waiter than actually conversing with him. He didn't seem to know much about the dishes he was serving and didn't seem to care much. We often had to figure stuff out on our own. We also had to ask a manager and several busboys for items we needed throughout dinner. Water was not re-filled without our asking. Now the food-Meh. Some of our starters included the following: caprese (good), calamari (meh), gnocchi bolognese (meh) and stuffed artichoke (tasteless). Our mains included Chilean sea bass (meh), veal francese (meh), and various other chicken and pork dishes (all meh). They have a policy of the busboy taking the tables dessert order. I though that was odd but was thrilled because we hadn't seen our waiter for some time. This was the conversation between me and the busboy to order dessert: Me: "My wife and I will share a Tartufo please." Busboy: "What?" Me: "We want a Tartufo please." Busboy: " What is a Tufo?" Me: "You know-it's on your menu-ice cream encased in chocolate." Busboy: "I will have to get someone to find that for me." That speaks for itself. Desserts at the table included pistachio cheese cake (good) and the now infamous tartufo (meh). The end of the meal couldn't come soon enough (our friends not included) and the restaurant did buy our table a round of Grappa. That was nice of them but could not save a sub par meal of bad service and mediocre food. Maybe next time I should walk into the music room, grab the microphone and let our waiter know we need something at the table. Oh wait-there won't be a next time.

A group of us went to Rigoletto's on the recommendation of a friend and we were all glad we went. This was our first time to Arthur Avenue. We chose this restaurant over another because they took reservations for 8:00 on a Saturday and they had free parking. Our waiter, Joseph, was friendly and offered suggestions. One of the things I liked was the flexibility with our orders. If it wasn't on the menu or the specials board, they tried to accommodate our order. Before we ordered, we were brought a dish of bruschetta with a delicious yellow cheese on the side that looked like Parmesan, but was softer. We started with four appetizers to share: Calamari, Artichokes w/shrimp, mussels in red sauce and a pocket pasta (similar to tortellini) filled with Romano cheese in a white cream sauce with peas and prosciutto. All the appetizers were outstanding but the latter was a hit with the group. I had the lamb osso bucco for my entree with yellow rice and escarole on the side. The osso bucco was fall-off-the-bone tender and was quite tasty. The veal chop looked exceptional and the veal piccata received kudos from my wife. For dessert we had tiramisu and I ordered the pistachio cheesecake which was outstanding and only second to Junior's cheesecake. All-in-all, the group was very satisfied with their meal and all said they would come back again. I would give Rigoletto's five stars for the food, but took off one star for the ambiance. The place was very noisy and we were given a table on an aisle where my chair kept getting bumped. But this was a packed Saturday night so I didn't expect it to NOT be crowded. After nine, they had a couple of singers who sang Italian and other songs and, even though we were in the next room, they were a bit too loud for my taste. Nevertheless, we had a great time and really enjoyed the place and would gladly go back again, maybe earlier in the day so we can hit some of the markets and bakeries for take home. Hopefully, one of them will have that pistachio cheesecake.

The best of the best! Pasquale's makes everyone feel at home. Their gravy is out of this world as well as their fried calamari and every special my husband and I have tried. I can't find anything wrong with this place...I can't wait to return.

This place is good but.. The last visit i didn't see an Italian working in the place. Used to be better but with the shrinking Italian population here it still holds up to it's promise of good food.

  • Ben M.

Just average. I've been here a few times. The servers are very friendly, but not very attentive. The food is fine, basic "red sauce" Italian. Don't plan to drink wine unless you like it out of a box. Nothing special, nothing noteworthy. I'm neutral, would go back and not complain but would seek other options first. They do have free parking, but that's not a reason to choose a restaurant.

What a disappointment this place was. And I'd really like to emphasize how disappointed I am with all the Yelpers that gave this place high ratings, leading me to believe it was a safe bet for some quality Italian food. I could not contain my disappointment as I ate the food here. It was bad enough that my first choice for a restaurant, Antonio's (which I'd researched meticulously on Yelp), was closed for whatever reason. Then option two, Zero Otto Nove was also closed. Bummer. But then to come here feeling confident with all the 4-star ratings and cumulative 4 on Yelp, I was somewhat appalled. Appalled that Bronxites would consider this GREAT Italian food. Appalled that such mediocrity can even survive in this city of such spectacular foods. Now let me say that this place wasn't completely bad, thus the 3-stars. But for the price, for being on this famed avenue, for being in New York, this place fails for being average when it should be SPECTACULAR. I started with the clam vongole appetizer in red sauce. All I can say is thank the lord for that red sauce. The sauce was delicious but it couldn't make up for the chewy, nearly impossible to eat clams. It was a task just to eat them and really set the tone for the meal. I mustn't forget though that I had before this app received the bruschetta and parmesan in oil, which were both great and had me feeling good about Rigoletto. Then, we followed with an order of the pollo ala scarpariello, which like so many items on the menu sounded so delicious on paper. Chicken and sausage. Wonderful. Except for when it arrived. Again, the sauce was excellent, but the chicken was bland and had absorbed little to none of the sauce's flavor. It seemed to me that on this quiet Monday evening, they hadn't taken the time to properly marinate the chicken and had hastily thrown the meal together. As a complement to the chicken dish, I ordered the red fettucine alfredo, only to find it suffered all the same deficiencies. The pasta was bland despite an impressive sauce. I couldn't hide my disappointment. Because of my considerable hunger, I ate plenty, and as I ate more the food began to taste a bit better, perhaps because the key ingredients had had more chance to soak in the good sauces, but by this time my mind was set. As my 3-star rating and tip of the hat to the sauces will attest, this places isn't bad. But on Arthur Avenue or anywhere else in NYC (perhaps the world, really), not being bad doesn't cut it and big disappointments result. Oh, and all this nonsense about the ambiance being like some old Italian this or that. Give me an effing break. This place was not in the least bit attractive or charming. I sat under a white board with illegible plate options scribbled chaotically. The decor was more reminiscent of some lackluster restaurant you'd find in a small town in the midwest.

I've been here twice and was satisfied both times. Most recently we had the linguine in pesto sauce and the gnocchi in meat sauce. Both were great. The strawberry shortcake and tiramisu were also good, though the portion is smaller than I'd expect. The bruschetta that is served as a starter has bread that is way too hard to really be enjoyable though. Service as great, but it didn't start off that way. I had to wait for a highchair for about 10 minutes, and only because they were slow about it, it wasn't that busy.

Food was good but the service was terrible. Our reservations were for 5:30 and by the time we got a table it was closer to 6:15. I understand it's a holiday so I get they are a bit backed up. However, everything else after is what got them 3 stars #1 When we were seated at the table our waiter seemed annoyed that we asked him about appetizers, he snapped and said drinks are the first thing. He rolled his eyes when we said water. #2 We then ask about the featured specials and he says give me a minute and literally comes back with this huge dry erase board with the specials semi readable and says here they are. #3 Someone at our table asks for olive oil for the bread he says sure and comes back with a bottle of olive oil and drops it on the table. Still in the store bought bottle. A few of the other were waiters were very nice and made up for the horrible service. Food was ok, I would choose Mario's italian restaurant over this one.

I went to Pasquale's this past Saturday for the first time. I usually patronize Dominick's around the corner. My group of 4 was happy to get a table after waiting only 15 minutes. This is pretty unusual for a Saturday night at 7:00 on Arthur Avenue. Another plus was the valet parking around the corner. However, the restaurant itself was very noisy. The food wasn't bad, just not great. The calamari appetizer was mediocre, and the red sauce wasn't that great. I had the braciole with cavatelli, which was just average. I didn't even take home the leftovers. As a bachelor that doesn't cook, that says it all.

This is for John S. from Stamford, CT. Regarding your false attempt of a review. I can only speak because I know. When speaking with the staff about this particular evening, it was shared, that you and the rest of your party of two others spoke to the manager. The manager did not have you pay for anything on the bill. When asked about prices, you received answers. The waiter and busboy came frequently to make sure your drinks were ok. Even though the veal was finished. The "spaghetti" with calamari which you claimed were not good but had package to bring home. By the way, they were linguini. Learn the difference. "He added the tip" to a non existent check, which is not protocol. The check is still there, so please. You're just another leach trying to get things for free. Why wasn't that in your review? How interesting and perplexing. If you don't want to spend the money, stay home!

Oooh man. A group of 4 somewhat regulars returned here for a celebratory dinner. 1. WTF Arthur Ave, why is there a man "helping you park" on the street and threatening to damage your car unless you grease his palm right near a cop car?? This experience really put us off. 2. There was a large party coming in after our dinner and workers were not focused. HELLO - if all of us are getting the same salad, you don't need to ask who's getting the salad, then act all rude and shit when we say "we're all getting the salad." To add to insult, we got served a wrong salad - with an ingredient I hate. 3. Only half of us got water. 4. Lastly, main entrees were okay... there was no more magic. We'll miss the giant wedge of cheese and bruschetta. Time to move on.

Courteous service, but sometimes long waits between waitstaff visits to the table, even though the restaurant was more than half empty on a nice Friday night. We have eaten here for a number of years, and it seems that the food quality is declining a bit. Upon arrival, formerly the table was given a dish of a generous piece of Reggianito cheese and Bruschetta.; we got six small pieces of Bruschetta for five people, and small pieces of cheese. Specials listed on their whiteboard do not contain prices, leaving patrons in the awkward position to inquire about the cost before ordering. The fried Calamari appetizer was a generous portion, but a little rubbery. One of our party ordered the Ravioli with Meatball and Sausage entree special; it was a modest dish with only one meatball and one sausage. Others' entrees were more generously sized. The foods' flavors were very basic; no hints of basil or oregano in any red gravy. Four of us ordered Cannoli for dessert. The Cannoli shells were dry and stale, and the cannoli cream was thickened with a good deal of flour. They were a disappointing end to the meal. We'll give this restaurant another try.

This was my 3rd time going to dine on Arthur Avenue. The restaurants we ate in the other times there were OK, but, nothing I would recommend with gusto. Tonight we ate at Rigoletto Pasquale and I was worried that it would be more of the same. It was quite the contrary! All 4 of the people in my party loved their main course, including my Petto Di Pollo Alla Florentina . Super delicious food and excellent service. The staff was very attentive, but, not annoying. Even the desserts were delicious. If you have 1 place to pick when you are going to Arthur Avenue, pick Rigoletto Pasquale. You will not be disappointed!

This is one of the Arthur Ave staples of Italian dining. The decor & furniture reminds my of my Italian aunt's or grandmother's houses circa 1980. It definitely needs a face-lift. The staff all seem to have been there for decades and deliver service with a mixture of a small amount of charm and large amount of blue collar gruffness. I have been here before and the food is above average, southern Italian red sauce fare. We all definitely enjoyed our meals, but no one was blown away either. The service is good, but again, nothing amazing. My most recent visit was for drinks before dinner at another area restaurant. Drinks were served promptly, but when we asked for a little bread, things went south. We went from guests to pariahs. After we got the bread, side plates and butter, we asked for knives. How else are you supposed to apply butter to bread? It was at this point, the bartender reveals to us that we are kind of being pains and that she isn't really supposed to give bar guests bread who are only there for drinks. Maybe you should have told us this BEFORE you gave us the bread? At this point we felt uncomfortable and the whole thing turned awkward as we were the only bar guests. I will chalk up the way we were treated to the blue collar gruffness thing. I will probably come back and give them another shot.

I was so excited to go to the real little Italy in the Bronx. Unfortunately I have to give this place 3 stars for one reason, the service. I just cant stand unpleasant service. How about a dam smile!!! Pretend you like your job/ business. Im not needy, but a smile goes a long way. That being said the food was good and great serving sizes. Like most Italian restaurants a bit pricey. As for the neighborhood, its safe its close to Fordham U.

I decided to try out this restaurant since all of their dishes seemed reasonably priced and they had a good rating. We called ahead for a table on a Friday night and were seated right away. Bruschetta, cheese and bread were brought to table immediately before we even ordered drinks. The Bruschetta and Parmesan Cheese were the best parts of the entire meal. A server came over and asked "have you ordered yet". I found this to be very impersonal and servers shouldn't greet customers in this manner. The service was very unorganized and slow. We had no idea who our waiter was. A different person served us throughout the evening. We also were not asked if we wanted more wine or beer. Keep in mind the place was not that crowded and several staff members were just standing around. As for the food our Beef Carpaccio was too cold nearly frozen and our Veal Marsala was cold as well. It took forever to get our check even having to ask for it and ask for it back. This was my first time visiting Arthur Ave and I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant.

I went to Pasquale's Rigoletto before a Yankee Game due to a recommendation from a friend. So of course I was delighted in seeing the yankee insignia painted on the door. They started off with a great spread with the bread, consisting of brushetta and cheese swimming in delicious olive oil. The table started off with the gnocchi with bolognese sauce. Gnocchi was a little mushy, but the sauce was amazing. My main dish was chicken scarpariello. Sausage was ok, but the olive oil that was mixed in with the dish tasted a little short of heaven. Service could have been a little friendlier and the prices could have been a couple dollars cheaper, but great food always over shadows the bad service

Good food and a reasonable price. I'm writing this a couple of months after I ate here so I don't remember everything. What I do remember: The service was good and there wasn't a long wait like some of the other Italian restaurants in the area. I know that may not sound good but I think it is. The quality of the food is very good and they get the customers served here! I think some of the other places are the likely the same quality but the service isn't as good. I went with two friends and we all enjoyed our meal.

We had a fantastic time here. The food was excellent, the service was probably the best I've experienced on Arthur Ave and the ambiance was quaint, quiet and comfortable. Hard to pick favorites. We went with what the waiter recommended and it was all tremendous. The cheese and bread is a nice touch when you sit down. The clams for an appetizer were perfect and the pasta could not have been better. They had an excellent cheesecake for dessert (which I usually don't eat but we were in a big group and just went with the waiter's recommendations.) All in all this is a spot i plan to return to on every visit.

Been coming here my whole life (since the place opened its doors around 27 years ago). Went last saturday with my whole family for my grandma's 90th birthday. There were 17 of us, and we had a reservation for 8:00pm. Got there a little early and had to stand in the completely packed bar area for our table to be ready. WIthin minutes, we were seated, served water and the friendly waiter dropped multiple plates of freshly made, garlicky bruchetta and chunks of delish parm cheese. We ordered a feast- probably had about everything on the menu: clams, mussels, mozz and tomato, stuffed artichoke, veal, gnocchi, osso bucco. Each thing was as good as the last. But what set this place apart from every other place down in the REAL Little Italy (Arthur Ave) was the entertainment. An array of comical, talented singers took turns singing old show tunes, italian folk songs and of course, happy birthday to my 90 year old grandma. One of the most fun nights I can remember in a long time. Good food, music and company. For an amazing experience, this place shouldn't be missed.

No New York dining experience is complete without venturing where the original Little Italy began on once famous Arthur Avenue. While much has changed in the Bronx from its former glory days where immigrants made it truly "uptown," it's good to know you can still get a classic Italian meal and feel of old New York here.

A good place for a classic Arthur Avenue experience. Competent kitchen serving fresh if unexciting food. The service is pleasant and business like. Like lots of older restaurants of its type, the noise level borders on deafening, but we had a nice meal. The only disappointment was a grilled veal chop special that was perfectly cooked but lacked any flavor at all. The lamb shank was perfect, the braceola was textbook and the pasta was just as you would like. Everything was competent but nothing was outstanding.

Overall this place was a good spot for Italian American comfort food. They had all the basics you'd expect - spaghetti with meatballs, lasagna, ravioli, etc. I settled for the Spaghetti Carbonara and Chicken Cacciatore - both were good. The carbonara was just a bit too creamy and watery than I'm used to having, but it was still very rich and flavorful. The chicken cacciatore was very good - savory chicken that was not overcooked and still very tender to the bite. They do provide huge portions so when our lunch was over, we did not have dinner that night. I can definitely see this spot as a good choice for large groups since the restaurant seems to be perfect for family gatherings.

This place has everything I look for in an Italian restaurant. The service was amazing, the menu was great, and the food was delicious with large portions! I only wish it was in a different part of town for next time I visit or to recommend to a friend who visits. With 7 different dishes ordered at our table and everyones responses as well as continued talk of it throughout the rest of the week I can safely say the food here is outstanding!!! The sauces are what stick in my mind, you can tell in one bite that they are homemade with care, each bite has fresh ingredients and perfection in it. Try Rigoletto Pasquale and you will be pleased you did!

I'm surprised that Pasquale's gets such good reviews on this site, as its not well received elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, I like Pasquale's. I like the little dish of bruschetta and cheese that they give you before you order, which is delicious. I like how its big enough that you don't have to worry about reserving usually as they'll be tables open (not necessarily the best in the house, but you know what I mean). I like how its good for kids. I like the big portions, and the solid waitstaff. I like that its a very reliable place on Arthur Ave, which may have a few good restaurants, also has some crappy ones However, when you get down to it, the food isn't what it could be. For instance, their linguini and calamari is made well, with the many parts of the squid in the sauce (even heads!); however, the seafood overpowers the tomato sauce, and I wish the portion wasn't as massive so that the price tag could be lower. Other dishes, like the ravioli/meatballs/sausage combo are a mixed bag. The ravioli are ok, and the sausages are great (as should be expected on Arthur Ave), but the meatballs are completely devoid of flavor. This place is definitely good and very worthwhile, but it isn't the best in Belmont and damn sure not NYC

I just left this restaurant in tears. After telling my family about a wonderful time I had here a few months ago, we were very excited to take my daughter here for her 10th birthday after a Yankees game. Instead of the friendly 'Mike' who greeted us and waited on us before, we were greeted by a small stocky angry woman who was obviously aggravated that we bothered her while she was sitting at the bar filling her mouth with food. She rudely seated us, then returned to feed herself. We decided to just have the cold and hot appetizer platters to share, along with a drink before heading home. Besides being completely uninterested and unattending- she was obnoxiously rude. After waiting for almost an hour, our cold antipasto ($14.50) consisted of 3 slices of meat, 4 pieces of cheese, and a couple spoonfuls of giardiniera. The hot antipasto ($65.00 what!- on our last visit it was $28) was a small plate with 2 pieces of fried mozz, some hard fried calamari, 4 fried previously frozen shrimp, and 4 tiny baked clams. I had a glass of Chardonnay and my husband a beer. After finally having to track her down to get the bill ($116) she ran the check plus 100% tip on our credit card. I don't think this was a mistake honestly. I believe she knew we weren't happy and anxious to leave and assumed we would sign the bill without noticing. We did notice which led to more waiting for the original check to be cancelled and re-run. I questioned the price of the hot antipasto (had we ordered full appetizer portions of the 4 items it would have been much less)... she replied that by all means the price was correct. So the food was terrible, my daughter's birthday dinner was ruined, I'm in tears because I had planned for such a nice night out, and of course by the time we got out of there the rest of little Italy was closed down so we couldn't even get our daughter dessert for her birthday. I hate terrible customer service especially in the food service industry. This woman was beyond rude and I wish we would have walked out upon our first impression with her. I don't know if she is an owner or manager (because she didn't have on the same garb as the wait staff). I will make sure I let everyone know about this circumstance. This woman clearly and obviously chose to take advantage of us by overcharging us and tried again when she attempted to give herself a big fat 100% tip. I am so upset and overall just so disappointed. I am always one to celebrate great food and service and hardly ever complain when things go bad, but I needed to voice this one.

We were first introduced by a friend of a friend when looking for a dinner spot while at Fordham. Walk all the way down Arthur past all the shops and markets of Lil Italy. Since that dinner a few years back, this has become our 'go to' spot - comfortable, always good food, with welcoming servers. Entrees are just like Nana makes: pasta (gnocchi!) a good choice, but don't overlook the specials posted on chalkboards. Huge portions - always end up with take-away for later. Parking lot in back.

The food was only okay but the experience was great, and that is ample reason to go back. There were 7 of us, celebrating someones' birthday, so we sampled lots of different menu items and specials. The menu is extensive and the portions were so big that some could be taken home for another day. Though, I don't think anyone in our group liked their food enough to be interested in asking the chef for his recipes. What sets this place apart is the entertainment. It seemed like the diners (or shill comical singers) were spontaneously getting up to sing Italian classics, in Italian of course, and Pop songs(at least at one time they were) & show tunes backed by a versatile (necessary skill under the circumstances) one-man-band. In case it was on the level, I was hoping not to be the designated singer at our table. The siren who sang the birthday song did a good job embarrassing the birthday boy just a tad. There is a convenient parking lot on site. And who isn't up for a trip to da Bronx from time to time.

We went to Arthur Ave for a nice day out to get some Italian goodies and wound up here for lunch. The menu was traditional Italian with some authentic specials. For apps we ordered Caesar Salad which was nice, the lettuce was crisp and the dressing was a lighter version of your typical Caesar dressing. Stuffed artichoke, this was cooked well but lacked in flavor, it also had an odd taste, not a bad taste, just and unusual ingredient I can't put my taste bud on. Baked clams, flavorful and the way I like them, the clam shucked and stuffed, not diced up clam with stuffing shoved back into the shell. The main courses were Gnocchi Bolognese which was very tasty and well done, not meat drowning in a tomato sauce, but a meat sauce with a little marinara to round it out. Penne arrabiata, spicy yet tasty and I really do not like spicy dishes. I had the papparedelle special with rabbit ragu. This was very tasty, but found some bones in the meat, which can be overlooked, but shouldn't be, in my opinion. Desserts were lemon torta della nonna and pistachio cheesecake. The torta was very good and had a really big punch of lemon. The cheesecake was OUT OF THIS WORLD, no joke, probably the best cheesecake I have ever had, and I highly recommend it. Over all a nice experience, good service, though there weren't many tables seated. A little pricey especially for a lunch at $141.00 for 4 people. At just under $50.00 per person with 3 apps, 3 lunches and 2 desserts, it just seems a little much for a quick lunch.

Ate there for the first time tonight I will definitely go back. Food was excellent. Had the chicken picata Sauce was perfect. Only own thing to stop a five star was that it's loud. If your looking for good food go. A quiet place it's not. But food yummy

Honestly the food was classic Italian done very well. Nothing experimental about it. Chicken piccata is chicken picatta... Marsala is marsala... Great flavors, and well seasoned food. The bread is delicious before the meal. Went in here because Roberto's stays closed from 3 to 5 and my stomach doesnt wait for lol.

"This chicken is greasy and tasteless." These were the first audible words that came from the table behind me as I sat down in the main dining room of Pasquale's Rigolletto located on Arthur Avenue, better known as "The little Italy of the Bronx." It wasn't a very encouraging start, but I wouldn't let it influence my opinion of what the evening would have for my dinner associate and I. The menu offered classic Italian dishes that went fitting with the classic Italian atmosphere of white tablecloth tables with a bottle of house red wine on each. Anyone who sat down for dinner received Italian bread with slices of provolone cheese that had come from the hollowed wheel that had been displayed as a unique centerpiece to the room. I had decided to challenge the "greasy chicken" head on and ordered the Chicken Florentine. A family size plate contained about a pound of chicken with a layer of prosciutto held together by a francais coating. A generous portion of spinach cooked with garlic and olive oil went perfectly with the white wine and butter sauce that created that "old world" Italian taste that everyone speaks so highly of. Greasy? Not visibly. Tasteless? Certainly not. Each bite was packed with a buttery white wine flavor and cooked to perfection. It's possible the table behind me was served a bad batch, but they certainly got the right the second time. The majority of the main courses average between $18 and $22, and you will most likely have enough to take home. Move over Mulberry Street, authentic Italian experiences exist in the Bronx.

Really good place for big groups. I'd say my family comes here once or twice a year for some family event, and they always accommodate us very well. Typical Italian food on Arthur Ave, and I can't complain with it. Everyone is friendly and the food is great. Their pasta primavera comes with a buttload of veggies which is really nice. I like their gnocchi and substitute with marinara sauce. Desserts are also good and so are the appetizers. Always a good time, especially with such a big group.

Nothing special, food average with some dishes overpriced, e.g. plain chicken cutlet $18, trippa with about six pieces of it and no side for $20?... The espresso was good.

The place that I really wanted to go to was packed with an hour wait, so I came upon this place. My friend and I were seated right away. It was like an Italian cafeteria set up, tons of tables, loud and Italian guys running all around and speaking loudly. Crowds of customers wearing Yankee apparel were also throughout this place. Considering the massive amount of patrons, our food arrived quickly. I ordered a pasta with cream sauce, prosciutto, peas and mushrooms. It was to die for! One of the best pasta dishes of my life, honestly. Delicate pasta that was clearly made fresh. I also enjoyed the guy carving out cheese from a huge cheese wheel in the center of the room and sending out fresh hunks of cheese with brioche. The Bronx Little Italy certainly gives Manhattan Little Italy a run for its money. One star off for the arguing waiters and loud atmosphere.

First visit to Rigoletto on Saturday nite. We were an hour late to meet are friends who by then had settled in at a table for 2. we were welcomed and graciously moved to a table for four. Everything was outstanding, so much so, i'm thinking of moving around the corner so I can dine there everynight. Mussels in garlic and wine were to die for. That and a loaf of bread to dip would have been enough. Baked clams were the best. The veal left us speechless and the linguine with clams cannot be described because words cannot express how truly good it was. THe service was great. They could melt crayons and make them taste good. Trust me because I know excellence when its presented to me. you won't be disappointed.

I really liked this place. It's probably a little pricey for the food, but the waitstaff is top notch and the food portions are pretty generous and the food is reliable. I came here with my family for lunch one Saturday, and we had a great time. The bruschetta and cheese to start is great. For an appetizer, I would recommend the spedino (fried mozzarella with prosciutto can't be beat) or the artichoke. For an entree, the cavatelli or osso bucco were both good, but I thought the lasagna was the best dish I tried. It had just the right amount of cheese, pasta, and meat. I recommend this Italian place on Arthur Ave.

Pasquale's has consistently delivered solid Italian fare. I've been here a bunch of times and have never been disappointed. I typically go with the specials board instead of the menu with the exception of appetizers. I always get the Spedino (love it). Their Osso Bucco (traditional veal, lamb or pork are usually on the specials) is succulent and flavorful. BTW, a little known fact if you go around the corner from the restaurant there is a private valet parking lot on the right.

Sub par food. $9.00 for a caesar salad that was 75% romaine hearts. But the worst part was that the vegetables in my linguine primavera were from a frozen bag. Even my friend remarked, "That looks like a chinese vegeatable medley on top of pasta". I could barely get through it. With so many other options on Arthur Ave, I would right past this place.

Solid food, but I won't remember what I ate in another month or so. The bruschetta and pecorino they served with bread may be the only thing I end up remembering. The pasta was obviously home-made and high quality, but the sauce tasted like something I could have done myself. I'll have to give it another go around some time soon.

After a visit to the NY Botanical Gardens on a hot Saturday, we naturally navigated to Arthur Avenue for our reserved choice of Rigoletto Pasquale. It is a large venue with an old Italian feel to it. We loved the crusty Italian bread, bruschetta and cheese brought out upon seating. We began with pasta fagiolli- excellent, mussels in a yummy red sauce and beef carpaccio. The carpaccio had a tapenade on top, which I found strange, but it was tasty. During the appetizers service, our waiter ordered a cold antipasti platter by mistake but left it on our table anyway. The cured meats and cheeses were very good. Entrees consisted of: Homemade gnocchi bolognese- very tender Linguini with pesto sauce-John seemed to enjoy it From the specials- Broiled branzino- fresh, with delicious potatoes and zucchini Cheese ravioli with meatballs- the meatballs were tender and very good. We were stuffed by the time dessert came around but managed to share a ricotta cheesecake which was " we should have ordered another one". The atmosphere was very convivial and loud but not unbearable. We enjoyed Pasquale's and would make it a favorite on Arthur Avenue.

Walked into Pasquale's because I had been craving old fashioned Italian food and was disappointed that the wait for Roberto's was too long. By the end of the night, I had completely forgotten that this wasn't my first choice destination!! Pasquale's was able to seat our starving party of 4 immediately on a Saturday night and with bread and crumbled parmesan pieces (!!!!) within seconds of our butts reaching the chairs. Holy crap, that was good! We started with the baked clams, which were pretty good considering that three quarters of the table didn't really like clams to begin with. I got the chicken parm, which was very good, but the real winner seemed to be my sister's pasta! I can't remember what it was called, but it was doused in a white sauce and topped with peas and bacon. That made 2 more meals for me over the next couple days and omg, it was good! For my dad's bday, they gave us a raspberry cheesecake--which tasted awesome--on the house. Ahh, I love when restaurants actually give good desserts for people's bdays, instead of the leftover garbage they're trying to get rid of. All I have to say is this: Pasquale's, you just made me about 10 times happier that I am going to be working in the Bronx for work this Fall!!

This is classic Italian done poorly. The prices are high, and the food is not flavorful. Dominick's is much better. Here, the red sauce is plain and the service seems to be annoyed by your presence. We saw our waiter prepare the salad, and he used Ken's salad dressing from the grocery store. The only good part is the bruschetta and cheese to start. None of us were impressed with our entrees.

The legitimate little Italy! I remember watching Anthony Bourdain when he went to Jersey saying that the seal of approval for any restaurant is a signed picture of one of the Sopranos...or an equally important figure. If that's the case, this place is pretty dang good! The hallway wall was covered completely with signed pictures. As we were walking to our table, a huge wheel of fresh Parmesan cheese emitted a beautiful aged-cheese scent. Awesome! The bruschetta-cheese appetizer combination was to die for. I wish I had gotten a pasta dish for the entree, but my shrimp was equally as good. Time for dessert!!!! Tiramisu was AMAZING!!! Just the right amount of coffee and the temperature was perfect. The meal was ended perfectly with a delicious cappuccino while staring at a particularly handsome Italian waiter. ;)

This place wasn't all that. Decor needs to be updated, big time.

Pasquale's is at the end of Arthur Ave, but it's worth the walk. Savor all the sights, sounds and smells of the real Little Italy during your walk, and daydream about the bruschetta you'll get as soon as you're seated. Friendly service is met with only the freshest ingredients. Entrees are wonderful, but I can't stay away from simple pasta dishes like the fettuccine alfredo or bolognese. If you sit in the larger back room, you'll be surrounded by a mural of Arthur Avenue, complete with local legends painted in. And save room for dessert. You'll see the display case when you walk in, and you won't be disappointed when it arrives at your table. Note: Portions are incredibly generous and valet parking is available.

Really good food and generous portions. Chicken Scapariello was excellent. This is above average even on Arthur Avenue. Very friendly staff, very helpful. Nothing fancy, just good food, clean and friendly atmosphere.

I went when the restaurant was empty so the service was great. The food was very good a little pricey for the Bronx but the food was tasty. The minestrone soup tasted canned. My non New York friends loved the antipasto. We ordered so much food that We asked for them not to bring out an entree so they packed it up and put in extra bread. Over all I would go back again if I were in the bronx.

Took the wife here for her first Italian food experience in Little Italy. We both had the Linguine with calamari. It was outstanding. Calamari tasted as if it was caught today. Red sauce was amazing. Silky smooth high quality tomatoes used. Prices are very reasonable. A perfect meal. Will hopefully return soon!.

My rating is for service only, because it was too unpleasant for my party to stay for long at all. The takeaway? Go to Rigoletto's on a normal day, not a holiday / festival, and go with a family, not a group of friends. Especially if they are all young women. I have had many a dinner with my extended family at Rigoletto's throughout my entire life, because my grandparents are Italian Americans from the neighborhood. The restaurant was always generous with portions, friendly, and accommodating. Waiters happily chatted with my grandfather, a real "paisan", and they would bring around delicious & fresh bread, hunks of parmesan cheese, and delicious bruschetta at the beginning of dinner. The main courses were good too. Today was Ferragosto, a yearly, heavily-marketed festival on Arthur Ave, and I arrived at Rigoletto's slightly earlier than the crowds, so it was fairly empty. My friends and I were seated by an elderly man, who handed us a menu that was clearly just for Ferragosto, for the tourists. Prices were written in handwriting next to one-word names of dishes. "Lasagna." When we asked the waiter what was in the lasagna -- a rather simple question -- he interrupted us mid-sentence and said, "No, that's it. That's the menu for today. Nothing else." After some repetition, he answered in a rather annoyed way: the lasagna was made with meat. Then he promptly walked away, before anyone could say anything else. Faced with the facts that (1) we were treated very rudely / dismissively in every interaction so far (2) there were NO vegetarian options on the menu for our one vegetarian and (3) the bread looked like it was store-bought, cold, and not that fresh -- completely out of the question for the Rigoletto's that I knew; we left the restaurant without even ordering. I am not sure if this is how they treat any ordinary Americans who come to the restaurant, if it is because it was Ferragosto, or if it was a bad day, but we were treated too unacceptably to justify staying. How different from being considered and treated like a "local."

Been here lots of times, the food is always consistent and good. Not fine dining but if you want a plate of pasta or veal thats prepared well this is the place. Lively, lots going on and the prices are great. I try to avoid that back room, you know the one where the guy in the red brocade tuxedo jacket tries to sing, on Saturday nights. Otherwise, the place is still great.

This is one of my favorites. Hands down a slice of the old Little Italy that I knew as a child. I love the portions which remind me of an actual dinner at my house, and the service is great. Everything here is made from fresh ingredients and it really shows. This is a great place for a date or for the family because they really make you feel at home here. There is an attention to detail that seems to permeate form every faucet of the restaurant, from the decor to the food itself, they aim to please and they never fail! You want real Italian-American food? Don't accept substitutes, head down to Arthur Ave and let them ask you how you doing.

My second favorite restaurant on Arthur Avenue. The food is delicious and the service is fast. This is a great place to go with your family or friends.

I pretty much had to roll out of here, and I didn't even finish my meal. I was conquered by Pasquale's mammoth portions. I was also done in by the friendly atmosphere and cheese and red sauce everywhere. After a jaunt to the Bronx Zoo, I wanted to try this place. The waiter was slightly gruff (but in a good charming way) and you could tell he pretty much knew a good portion of the customers eating. Pasquale's felt like eating in your popular uncle's home. To start, we were presented with a min portion of bruschetta and cheese. To order, the breaded mozzarella was delicious-very nicely done if not a bit heavy. nice bottle of Chinati filled out the meal. The calamari with linguine was also great-but I was out for the count. As I stood at the bar waiting for my boyfriend to use the restroom, one of the owners insisted I sit down and started speaking to me in Italian. My Argentine Spanish kind of did okay. Arthur Avenue is a bit of a trek, but make a whole day out of it and make sure you stop at Pasquale's for a real Little Italy experience that makes Manhattan's Little Italy look like a Chinatown tourist stop. Oh wait that already happened.

Went to Rigoletto Pasquale after a visit to the Bronx Zoo recently. We normally go to Dominick's, but it was packed, and with our four-year-old in tow, we couldn't wait to eat. Rigoletto Pasquale was pretty bad. We each had a pasta dish. My son's spaghetti and meatball was passable, but barely. You expect a lot better from an old fashion Italian restaurant. I had the special pasta with calamari, and it was terrible. The calamari was mealy. It was clearly previously frozen. That dish cost $23.50! Wow, calamari is one of the cheapest seafoods in my local mart. My husband's special penne and salmon was smothered in a creamy tomato sauce. It looked and tasted like someone was too heavy-handed with the sauce. You couldn't taste the salmon amid the tomato and cream. And that dish was more than $20. A side of broccoli rabe was $12.50. All and all, three pastas (one child-size), one salad and one side vegetable set us back $90. I was thinking how many pounds of fresh pasta I could buy down the street for $90 and sauce it better myself. Don't bother with this place. It's not good and it costs a fortune.

I'm very surprised this restaurant has a pretty high rating from several food review groups...I found it to be pretty mediocre all around...there are several restaurants in that area I feel are much better...I went because of all the good reviews it had gotten & was very diasappointed

I love this place. The food is amazing, from the big chunks of parmesan and bread that they put on your table when you sit down to every course on the menu... yum! They also have a long list of specials that changes constantly, so you'll never get bored of the menu. The restaurant itself is huge, so there's not as much of a wait as some other Arthur Ave. restaurants (except on weekend nights, when it's just as busy). The service is great, too; the servers I've had were very friendly and accomodating. Try their Osso Bucco... amazing.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
