I've been here so manyyyyyy times! This bar is perfect.. The size is practical .. It's not too large where it can be obnoxious to get service, there is a fair amount of seating at the bar and even high top tables and regular tables for parties of 4-6.. Menu chalkboards.. I'm all about it... Craft beers are served in abundance here and def high alcohol content.. I like that they write the % of the beer next to it on the board... They probably will have some nice fall and winter beers .. Always a decent crowd in here... Good beer... Fair prices... Good menu... Get here.

The waitress is very nice. The food awesome but don't take a salad not so good. However don't hesitate to take a burger :) They have a very good choice of draft beers :)

This is a great new addition to the Babylon Village area. It has a classy brick and wood look, like you would see in Brooklyn. It just opened a couple of weeks ago. There are 24 beers on tap, not to mention bottled beers and a full bar. The food menu has starters and entrees, with the plan to add more options as they grow. I had the Village Wings and they were excellent. They cut the chicken into cubes and bread them. Mine were buffalo because that's my favorite, but they also have BBQ and teriyaki. The buffalo was the right level of hotness for my liking. Among their many beers are two originals, the Villager Blonde and The Villager Dark. I love dark/ambers so I tried that first and was not disappointed. It was tasty and very smooth. Then I tried the blonde, which I usually find to be too light. This was not too light and had a decent flavor. I highly recommend this quaint new place.

Big fan of this place! I've been here the past two nights and have been so pleasantly surprised with their extensive tap selections. Bartender was very helpful and attentive when taking my drink order. Atmosphere was cute, love the chalkboard menu- very clear and easy to read. I wish the music wasn't so loud though, it was a bit hard to shout over Sublime songs. A few too many IPA's in my opinion. I would suggest more Stouts for the warmer months! I will review again when I try the food there! :)

Nice small casual bar and dining. Food was good and not terribly expensive and great selection of rotating beers. One criticism of the Villager is they need to stop dimming the lights down in the evening as not an environment for anything but couples.

Went here for the first time on Thursday night. Bar was busy for a weeknight. They have 24 Craft beers on tap as well as bottled beer, wine & liqour. Bartenders were welcoming & they allow you to try the beers before choosing. Food menu has a good selection. We tried the soft pretzel bites with a beer cheese dip. Atmosphere was very relaxing. As the night went on the lights were dimmed and the music got louder but still enjoyable. Located in the village of Babylon and a block from train station. We will definitely be returning to this bar in the future!

Great addition to Babylon. I work in town and come here at least once a week for a late night drink. The bartenders and bar backs are great. The food is literally amazing and the beers are delicious. Owner has always been friendly as well!

This place was a nice surprise. Had a work Christmas party here last night, having never been here before I just assumed it was going to be another small hole in the wall bar or potentially, at best, forgettable like most other bars in the area. The whole decor of the place is done perfectly. It's rustic yet somehow modern. It's clear someone with a good eye put it all together. It just comes off as not trying despite feeling very upscale. Well done. The staff (in this case we had three bartenders and one girl who was bringing food as well as bartending) was super nice and super helpful. The beers on tap were diverse and quite good, including one of my new favorites Tröegs Mad Elf (which was a bartender suggestion, thanks for that) Lastly, the food. This was what really impressed me. Pub food is pub food, it's all going to be some variation of items which are both easy to prepare and quick to cook. When places make an effort to present innovative variations, it always hits a soft spot for me. Everything we had - while being standard fare - was dressed up just enough to make it stand out from what you'd expect. Also, and perhaps most importantly, it was all quite fresh - which is not something I've ever once said about food from a bar. This place gets the basics right and builds on them with a nice attention to detail. Couple that with a twist of innovation, and it's clear to me as a customer that someone in charge actually gives a crap about my experience, which in turn earns my respect and recommendation. Other similar establishments could learn a thing or three from here.
The Villager is a simple spot and that's kinda what I like about it. Dimly lit, wooden tables, brick walls lined with chalk boards filled with beer and eats specials. A couple of TV's if you need your sports fix (we all do). The menu is simple; sammies, burgers, salads, apps. Done. When places like this get too fancy they tend to fail miserably. That being said, Villager has some tricks up it's sleeve, especially on the create your own burger side of things. You can make a pretty fun burger using the menu, which is written on the wall in chalk. Tip: get the cool ranch Doritos as a topping. Overall, this isn't really a spot for date night, but it seems like a cool place to hang and crush a few craft brews, maybe even a burger stuffed with cheese. Do it.

We have been here a bunch of times and have never had any qualms with this place. I gave them a positive review on here previously. However, we came here this weekend as a party of 3 people, sitting at a table in the middle of eating our food and having drinks and enjoying conversation when we were rudely interrupted. The bouncer decided to ask my boyfriend to cover his shirt because it contained the "F" word. The bouncer had no reasoning and then sent over his large henchmen to advise us he needed to cover it... We were not being loud, rude or obnoxious in anyway nor should that even matter when his first amendment right was violated. When my boyfriend advised that he would not oblige the bouncer tried using the "this is a personal establishment we have rules" line because we all know that no one who attends a bar scene is going to use the "F" word!!! Oh dear god please cover your ears and avert your eyes! This is a bar not a five star restaurant buddy... Get over yourself. The bouncer did not like the shirt therefore decided to lose this business money, as we took ourselves elsewhere.

Great spot in Babylon village! Tons of craft beer and knowledgable staff. Menu isn't huge but enough for this being more of a bar rather than restaurant. Their flatbreads that I've had are delicious! Waitress service without "needing to be seated" more on a first come first served basis. Gets packed on weekend late nights but worth it!

The extensive selection of craft beer coupled w/ the friendly and knowledgeable bartenders make this a great spot to grab a drink or enjoy a happy hour. The atmosphere is rustic, simple and laid back. The menu is "fun" to say the least. They get their meat from the Babylon Meat Market down the street, so you know it's fresh. The food is very good. I've tried a couple of there flatbreads, and a lamb burger. The burger was amazing. You know it is cooked and seasoned perfectly when you hesitate to put ketchup on it in fear of ruining the flavor. The tater tots that came w/ my burger were also very good. It can be a little expensive, as craft beer usually is. A beer can run ya up to $7 and a burger can be $12-$15. Will definitely be returning here for drinks and food!

This Place Rocks... They Have Tater Tots need I say more, they are always cooked perfectly seems like a small thing but sometimes that's all it takes. My wife and I have been there a handful of times and have never been disappointed. They have a good selection of taps and the Duck Burger is great. It's definitely a place worth checking out if your in the area.

Went for a quick lunch with my husband, we sat at the bar, the bar tender was very friendly we got to sample a few beers on the house which was nice since they have so many choices, I got a watermelon ale and my husband got a pear cider both refreshing I ordered a BBQ chicken sandwich my husband got a burger took a little longer than expected to come out but when it did you could see the ingredients were all fresh I didn't care for my chicken it had a weird rubbery consistency I took 1 bite and the bar tender could tell there was something wrong so he brought me out a burger to replace it they didn't even charge for my burger which was unexpected. I'd def go back the burger was very good cooked perfectly.

Not from the area and I wanted a local spot to have a quick dinner. I feel a little like I am cheating since I found this place through Yelp, but here is my review. really an incredible selection of beer. There are 24 beers on tap and there is an incredible selection. The only "popular" beer they have is Guiness and everything else is from relatively small batch breweries....really, really good. The food selection is limited, but very good. everything is fresh and made there. Service is very friendly, fast and helpful. If you are in town and want a fun and relaxing spot...drop in.

Stopped in here the other night for a bite to eat and a few craft beers. The beer selection was great. They have a ton of tap beers with a big selection from IPA's to ciders to seasonal beers and stouts. The food was also good. The pretzel bites and sliders were delicious. Most the food is burgers and sandwiches, but from what we had and saw, it all looked delicious. Definately a good place to go get some good beer and food. Atmosphere was nice and relaxed.

Went early evening, read about it on Yelp... fairly new establishment but got outstanding ratings. Now I know why... Came across as the neighborhood meeting place... kitchen is open real late for that late night snack and night cap.

This was my second trip to The Villager and in my opinion they hit the mark on both occasions. Both trips we arrived around 5-5:30 pm (once on a Friday night and once on a Saturday night) and were lucky enough to be seated immediately. The Villager isn't a very large establishment, but the atmosphere is great! I love that the specials are written on a giant chalk board on the wall. The wait staff and bartenders are extremely friendly and were on point with checking in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. The menu isn't huge so you may want to peek at the menu before hand if you are looking for something specific. However, I really enjoyed the food. Cheese fries are my weakness, so for me the Gouda fries were out of this world. My husband, being a burger connoisseur, was skeptical at first about an English muffin bun. After trying the El Diablo he was happily surprised. I also love that they offer tater tots as a side. They do have a number of different beers on tap. Being a fan of wheat beers, I would definitely recommend the 21st Amendment Hell or High Watermelon or the Abita Strawgator. Both were very flavorful and refreshing. I will definitely be coming back again.

This place is amazing! Great beer selection, and awesome food. I had the gouda fries - waffles fries with a gouda fondue poured over the top and crispy bacon and scallions sprinkled over them.....yummo! Staff was very friendly and helpful....you must go!

This is a nice pub in Babylon, and in my opinion - just what the village needed. If you've been to Babylon, you know there is no shortage of bars. But The Villager is different. Think lots of craft beers on tap. Large chalkboard menus with fare that is not your standard fried bar food, but creative-sounding sandwiches and interesting offerings. The beers and drinks are reasonably priced around $6-7 each and the bartender was quite friendly and quickly served my friends and I our beverages. Definitely looking forward to coming back to The Villager over the December holiday break to enjoy a pint or two and to sample one of their yummy sounding menu items. This could easily become a 5-star for me. Cheers!

This place is a lovely little pub. People are eating, drinking from one impressive beer list written all over the walls. The bar has a nice industrial feel with rustic accents. They have 2 perfectly situated tvs that anywhere you sit you can watch the game. I would say I wish the tvs were bigger. Staff are very attentive, and friendly. People are surely enjoying the food, the smells have consumed the place making me very hungry. Seems like it fits right into this cute little babylon village. Only compliant is its freezing please turn on the heat. People have their winter coats still on inside! (Picture proves it) All n all I would come back come back here.

One of my favorite spots in Babylon. The crowd is so normal!! As a Long Island transplant, I often have trouble finding bars that are not packed with bros and bud lite. The Villager has done exactly the opposite. They have a TON of interesting beers right on tap and they rotate new beers into the list often. They also have some interesting drinks for those who do not like beer. The food is great, music is on point, and all of the bartenders are the friendliest people you will meet. If you are looking for a chill night and something other than watery beer from a keg, check out the Villager. It's awesome!

Came here the other night for drinks and apps with my bf. We started off with a beer each - A Belgian white "Palm" beer for me and a Stone IPA for him. For apps - we ordered the Gouda fries which were served with bacon bits on top (to die for), and the BBQ boneless wings which we also loved. We came on a weekday around 8pm so it was a perfect place to talk and unwind. The ambience is sweet as it's all brickwork and chalkboard displays of all their different craft beers. Service was great too! Definitely will be back.

Visit Date: February 24, 2015 Let me tell you a story of how hubby and I ate a meal at the Villager in Babylon. We needed to make a stop after dinner, so we decided to go out because Tuesday is one of our nights to eat out or order in. I always want to try new places, hubby likes sticking to a few usual places but last night I asked him if he wanted to try the Villager. I figured he would like the craft beer and I wanted to try the food. When we walked in the place was relatively empty there were a few people drinking and eating but not that many. The bar reminds me of a hip Manhattan or Brooklyn bar. The tables are made of wood, the walls are brick, there's dim lighting and candle lighting and the craft beer choices are listed in chalk along the chalkboard walls. I had the portobello stack with a substitution of gouda fries. I forgot to tell the waitress to skip the bacon on the gouda fries, luckily it was sprinkled on top so I was able to pick it off. It was my mistake so I didn't want to chase the waitress for new fries. The fries were incredible, crispy waffle fries topped with melted gouda cheese. Most of my cheese fell to the bottom of the plate but porky pig here didn't let that cheese remain on the bottom of the plate I scooped it up with my fries. The sandwich was okay, it had a tangy flavor which I didn't dig too much. Hubby just got one beer but he liked it. We were impressed and during the summer if I don't get pregnant right away when we try to have a kid we'll be back here for a drink or two. I couldn't drink because I was driving and I don't want a DUI.

Honestly, I still don't get why everyone is raving about this place and giving it 5 stars. I was just here again last week, and decided to lower my review. Again, out of the 40 beers they have on tap, I found 4 that I would even consider ordering. Yet people still eat this selection up. Just because you've never heard of it, doesn't mean its good. I was also here to grab a bite. It took so long to get seated, and then so long to get service. Why? Because ONE waitress was taking care of everything, with ONE bartender. I get, its a weeknight, but its Babylon, it's going to get busy, make sure you've got enough staff. I saw the owners in the table at the back as always, drinking and hanging out, but never lending a hand. The first time I ate here, I loved it. They didn't have an official menu, just a selection of foods on the chalkboard, which was great. Shows you whatever they have is fresh and you always get new choices. This time, they had a real menu. I wanted something I could just pick at, but they didn't have much as far as that goes, mostly, burgers and sandwiches. So I ordered the chorizo and shrimp flatbread. Waitress comes back - no chorizo. She says they'll put Italian sausage on it, really not the same, but whatever, I'm ready to get out of this place anyway. I had the flatbread before, and it was great. This one was literally bread, cheese, shrimp, and sausage. No seasoning at all. It was okay. My boyfriend was craving wings, the whole reason we even came here, and guess what? This bar only has boneless wings. Weird. But luckily the "special" of the day was wings on the bone. So he got an order of those. They were good, but the waitress forgot to tell us that they charge alot more for on the bone than off. We got 4 beers, a flatbread, and wings, and spent over $60. Seems steep to me.

Cool place to hang out in Babylon Village. The bartenders are attentive and friendly. I like the fact that The Village carries a big selection of craft beers. It was nice going to a place with a chill vive and good crowd.
