Sad to right this review, as I did previously really like the food. Mukda is close to the office and we've come here several times. Today, for a second time, there was a long thick black hair in my food. When I pointed it out, they took the plate and said they'd make another. It was pretty clear the hair was removed and the plate thrown back in the stir fry for a minute then replated. Ate a few bites and left the rest...couldn't do it. Friends were already long done, so we just asked for the bill. Still charged full price. Doubtful we will return.

Small, family owned/run business......good food & reasonably priced. Little neighborhood spot.
(3)Harry S.
So Mukda .... Whenever I see a Thai restaurant 2 things go through my head, Hmm and Eh . Hmm - will it be up to par with Pok Pok Ny and sriphaphai . Eh - just another Thai joint nothing special . Pros - Decent quantity for the price , Right amount of spice. Cons - Over priced beers , decor was kinda off for the price they charge. Was it a Hmm or a Eh ? Eh because its just like any other Thai joint nothing that sets it apart . So will i go again ?... maybe.

I went there for lunch, it was ok. The tablecloth was dirty. My plate had way too much pepper. later that night I got really bad heartburn.
(2)J P.
Went there for dinner tonight. We ordered a variety of items: Appetizers: chicken curry puff, shrimp satay, steamed Thai dumplings Entrees: sweet & chili whole fish, drunken noodles, jumbo shrimp with chee something sauce (can't remember), vegetable basil fried rice. We loved all the food. My least favorite were the shrimp satay and the fried rice. Everything else was great. It isn't the best Thai food I had but it's an awesome place in Long Island (compare to others). I personally think its worth a try for those adventurers out there! Oh, it's owned by Thai too.
(4)David D.
The best Thai food I have eaten in long island. We have tried several places and this one is our favorite. I have had Thai food all around the country and this place ranks in my top 5. The food is very flavorful and they dont hold back on the heat, if you want it authentic! Very impressed with the coconut soup, peanut dressing on the salad, spring rolls, and the entrees!
(5)Nav G.
Very small place with average food. The decor is wierd. Service was average, too. Our food took really long to come out. We were seated at a table in an awkward location. The layout is a bit confusing which results in one table that is literally in the middle of the restaurant, with the rest of the table surrounding this one. It's just wierd knowing you're in the middle of it all! Once the food was finally out, it wasny anything we had ever had before. In fact, we've had better Thai food...much better.
(3)Shamil B.
This place is just ok. Their food is hit or miss. Since jaiya closed next door, there aren't many choices in the Hicksville area. Sometimes the food is good and other times just awful and inconsistent.
(2)Mark R.
Mukda well I have to say though the food was really good the service was so incredibly lame. Slow as hell ( we actually bonded with other tables over the incredibly long wAit for dishes, messed up orders, and general language barrier. The worst however was how freezing the restaurant was. Bring a few layers its ice in there! I was disappointed. hopefully it was just a bad night for them.
(2)Nelvin J.
Best Thai food i have had on Long Island, hands down. Try the Pad Ke Mao or the regular pad Thai. You really can't go wrong with some type of flat noodles and chicken. You can tell each meal is prepared as you order just for you. No mass preparation like other chains. Food comes out HOT! The spices are excellent. The chicken is well cooked and seasoned. This place rocks my socks. Been here about 8 times.
(5)Andrei L.
Review is baed only on the lunch specials. Came here twice; had lunch specials both times. Got the pad see you once and the green curry once. Both dishes are tasty and flavorful. It was also cheap; about 7-8 bucks without tax. But the portion sizes were pretty small for my liking. Thus, 3 stars.
(3)Taurian D.
After many months of not coming here., we went to all thai restaurants in Long Island and nothing could come close to it's authentic taste. So hubby ordered to go and all of the items he ordered we're spot on. Crispy duck in panang sauce, shrimp roll and shrimp pad thai are simply amazing., and it even taste better the next day. Service may be slow but very polite.
(4)Fariha S.
Good, affordable Thai food in the Hicksville area. It looks like a dump on the outside but the inside is really nice. I ordered the basil fried rice and fried ice cream and both were very good. Yes, there is better thai food out there but if you are in the area, it is a good neighborhood spot.
(4)Ender O.
Good quality thai food is hard to come by on The Island but Mukda does a wonderful job of have quality food at very good prices. The competition si pretty steep in Hicksville for cheap lunches but for $8 you get a massive portion and a side salad. Their padthai and drunken noodles are great. Large flavorful portions that can be as spicy as desired. The staff is very attentive and the food didn't take long to be made and while there isn't much ambiance to speak of this place has quickly become a staple of my lunch time hit ups.

Authentic Thai Food If you enjoy Thai Food... Eat here... This place is delicious and well priced

I'm writing yet another review and the stars just keep diminishing. I'm conflicted. I love the mango salad with raisins, cashews, & peanuts. I also really enjoyed the spring roll. The Pad Thai with shrimp had 4 small shrimp with their tails on still & the noodles were quite dry. The curry puffs were not as good as I've had before & two out of the four were soggy. I stopped in on a Saturday night right before 6 & although it was still early, there was no one in the restaurant. The woman charged me $37. I thought that was expensive but says nothing. Then I thought about it more & went online to their menu & added it up. Spring rolls-$5. Curry Puff-$6. Mango Salad-$8. Pad Thai-$11. That's a total of $30. When did NY tax get so high that I payed an additional $7? Um yeah. Learn how to add. I'm not coming back anymore. There are tons of thai restaurants out there & Lemonleaf is down the block & just as good & always busy & doesn't over charge. I'm sad. I'll miss the mango salad but I'll get over it.
(2)Sharon L.
I went in here not expecting much, so I was surprised at how good the food was. I had the drunken noodle and some curry puffs, both very tasty especially for a Long Island Thai restaurant. I've been to lemonleaf and that place put me off to Thai food on Long Island for a good 4 years. Although not as good as queens Thai, I would come back to Mukda instead of taking a 40 minute ride to Woodside. I did see some of the reviews mention bad service but I went during lunch and service was quick and courteous. As for the decor, this isn't fine dining, so it was what I expected.

Been coming here for awhile and recently their food hasn't been as great. My friends and I used to love coming here after work. It could be just bad timing maybe. I will try again..
(3)Shaoqing Z.
I found a bug in my Tom yum soup and the waitress denied it. Refused to give us a new one until we argued with the chef. Horrible service.
(1)Nadni S.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area!! They have wonderful drunken noodles and I always get myself a Thai iced tea. Mostly everything I order is delicious, I recommend it to all my friends. My only complaint would be the parking- it's a really small space in the back of the restaurant.
(5)Freddy J.
Thai ice tea is a must have ! , won't say I loved the food but won't say I didn't like it , the pineapple fried rice was okay , would have love to come before when is was better but over all it was good , dessert actually looked good but wasn't I was but disappointed , I had the fried ice cream and fried banana

I've been here before when it first opened and I really did enjoy the food so coming back was a no brainer.. I brought my gf here for lunch the other day and we both ordered something off the lunch specials menu and two Thai coffees. the coffees were pretty good. Our entrees came out after but here's the problem. She got the pad Thai which was good, and I got the Penang curry with beef. OMG was it salty. I couldn't handle it. I rarely ask for food to be sent back and by rarely I mean I've never sent anything back. I know how much it sucks to get something sent back so I usually can just deal with it. but there was no way I could remotely enjoy this dish so I asked them if I could get another one less salty. the waiter takes it back and a few minutes later t comes back out. but it was the same dish, just reheated and with added water/coconut milk. not only did it over cook the meat to the point where it was inedible, but it was still salty beyond belief. I ended up not finishing it and finished the gfs pad Thai. I'm waiting for the bill and as the waiter brings it over, the manager stops him and takes it back. Then I'm given a new bill. I look at it and my two lunch specials (7$ each) had been changed to the full price of 10 and 12$. really?! I ask the manager and she looks at me dumbfounded saying that the dishes we were served were dinner portions. I looked at her in disbelief and was gonna flip until the gf told me to let it go. I didn't care about paying the extra few bucks but it's the principles that drove me insane . this place used to have decent Thai. but the management is so cheap and desperate to skim a few dollars from a meal that I've lost all hope here. the interiors are falling apart and absurdly tacky. there are actually flies buzzing around as well. This place needs to get their priorities straight bc if they won't, I'm sure it won't last another year.
(1)Danny T.
Been eating here for a couple years- used to be better but the food lately has been getting worse this last time was awful. Mushy shrimp, mushy noodles & bland flavor :( disappointing.
(1)Emm C.
Coming back from the area and wanted to beat the peak Sat night dinner. This place was good..the chinese broc, Pad Thai and larb gai were all really good.
(4)Jay L.
Staff was very kind. The food was very tasty a little much on the oil but very good. Foos was out to me in a decent time and wait staff was very courteous. Would definitely stop in when in town next time.
(5)Dennise P.
I was a little iffy about coming here the first time. It was a Sunday, during lunch, and the only people in the restaurant was the staff. The first thing I noticed was the mismatched decor - bright, colorful paint, which contrasted the touch of elegance they added by having white linen and wine glasses on the table. Although they have a bar, it was not well-lit, and I got the impression that it was not an area of the restaurant they were trying to highlight. No biggie, it was Sunday, before noon, and we were the only ones in the place; it probably got busy during dinner rush. The menu was extensive, but when trying out new restaurants, I have a tendency to gauge how they compare to others by trying out the same dish each one of them carry. In this case, it was the lunch special beef pad Thai, which came with a salad. I didn't really have high hopes, seeing that the decor did not impress me. Boy, was I wrong! Served on a plain white plate, the salad was a wonderful mix of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and carrots, topped with the most flavorful peanut dressing I have ever had. Next came the pad Thai, which I ordered extra-spicy. When placing the order, I assumed that it would be a small portion, since it was part of the lunch special. Wrong again. Not only was it the perfect serving, but they were also generous with the beef, a huge plus. The noodles were not spicy enough for me, but it was ok, since no one ever makes it spicy enough for my liking. All I did to fix that was to ask for chili paste, which they brought along with ramekins of other types of chili, each with a different flavor. Once I slathered on the desired amount of chili, everything was perfect! Unlike some of the places I have been to, the pad Thai was perfectly seasoned, and not at all dry. And again, the portion was just enough for me to be full, but not stuffed. Needless to say, out of all the Thai restaurants I have been to in the area, food-wise, this place is the best! I took off a star because service was a little slow, which I did not understand, considering the restaurant was empty. Parking is limited, so make it a point to visit during lunch hours, shortly after they open. It's not that big of a place, so I can't imagine how crowded things get during dinner.
(4)Shushu C.
I definitely think that this place has problems with customer service. I came here with coworkers and the waitress had great difficulty speaking in English. Also, they had trouble with understanding vegetarian options. Obviously, this isn't the city for sure...but they should be cautious and accommodate easily to people who are vegetarian. It's a basic attribute every restaurant should have. We received the food and the only good hong I had in my meal was Thai iced tea...and it's hard to eff that up. The food was extremely MSG infested and salty...there was not really much flavor than that....disappointing. I'm not going to be nice because there was no attempt to correct mistakes of any sort. In the end there are no redeeming qualities about this.
(2)Dave P.
One of the best Thai restaurants I've eaten at. The parking lot is small and the restaurant looks like my grandma's house on a Sunday dinner, but it's all an illusion. The food is top notch with exquisite taste. I had the House salad and loved the peanut dressing. All the soups are taste bud-stimulating and the curry chicken dishes are so good that You find yourself wanting to lick the bowl clean (and in this casual dining environment you just may get away with it. Give this place a try; you won't be disappointed.
(5)Abilene D.
We go here everytime we want Thai cuisines... They really have great food and their Thai iced tea is really awesome! The only problem is their poor service and the manager has an attitude problem. We went to eat dinner here last night and it was really busy! They only have 3 waiters and out of that 3... Only 1 was capable of taking orders! Other people were complaining already about the service and believe me or not it took about 20-30mins in between serving each of our 5course meal!!! So terrible! The manager then came out to help with orders but instead of apologizing to customers about the long waiting time... She was explaining rudely that the its a very busy night for them and they have 3 new staff and mind you----with additional rolling eyes!! So rude!!! And she is screaming at her servers in front of us - the customers. So all in all it took us 3hrs for our dinner just waiting for our food! The servers were nice but the manager is always nasty. Everytime we go there she is always screaming! This place has good food compared to other thai places locally but seriously the manager is pulling this place down!
(3)Darwin G.
A great lunch spot. I had the Beef Ginger Chili. At $7.60, the portion was large with a small side salad. They were even nice enough to give me the lunch special at little past 3:00 as it runs from 12-3:00.
(4)Joe M.
Horrible service. Waited 20 minutes to get a menu and then another 20 minutes before we left without even getting to order.
(1)Laura L.
I wanted to update my review for Mukda after getting food from here recently. I saw on their website they had a lunch special so I decided to get thai food the other day. I ordered the green curry shrimp. I got a good portion with a small salad for around $8.00 which is really awesome. The green curry is flavorful and spicy, and I was extremely full after finishing everything. That lunch kept me full for the entire day, it was crazy! I would definitely recommend the lunch deal! Oh, and I've gotten this twice and after calling it in the food was always ready when I walked in the door.

I really REALLY REALLY wanted to like this restaurant. I had dinner at this establishment with my family, and we got a few appetizers, and a few entrees, and a dessert, let me break it down for you. Let me start with the location, the restaurant is awkwardly on a plot of land so that , you're not quite sure whether to park in the front or the back. When you figure out from the signs that the parking lot is in the back, it is a little bit shady because you park right in front of random garage doors. We had an early dinner, so it was a little bit strange not to see any other cars there in such a shady setup. Okay... over the shadiness. Back to the food.... we got about 5 appetizers, and the only memorable appetizers were the curry puff and the calamari. Both of those appetizers were solid, and absolutely delicious. The calamari was tender on the outside and crisp on the outside, it tasted scrumptious, and after having these two dishes I was hoping I was in for a treat. +2 for the appetizers. Entrees: Pad See-Ew & the Pineapple Fried Rice, maybe it was just our choices, but both dishes were pretty awful, and were highly underwhelming. We had leftovers, and I wasn't even excited to eat them. The Pad See-Ew was not very flavorful, and tasted almost rubbery. The only redeeming factor was the well cooked pork. Probably one of the worst Pad See-Ew's ever tasted.... ew, indeed. The pineapple fried rice also lacked flavor, and besides the pineapple chunks, you could not taste the flavor in the rice at all. Let me get to the dessert, after asking for it, the server brought us the check with no dessert, we had to politely ask him to bring it, which was like a tango of awkwardness. The fried ice cream was just as mediocre, which we should have just skipped at that point. I really am surprised by all the high reviews, maybe I'll give it another go at a future date.... maybe the second time is the charm? My current opinion: Ain't no thing. Skip this mediocrity and drive two minutes to Lemonleaf Grill in Hicksville. The food is a million times better.
(2)Jayy J.
Got the chicken pad Thai. The flavor was good but that must have been the driest chicken I ever ate in my whole life.
(3)Haven A.
Kinda below average ... But we did order take out 30 min before closing ... Not likely to ever return
(2)Lee M.
Oh drunken noodles with pork, why do you haunt me so........I dream of your lusciousness awash in 2 containers of sliced fiery green chiles in fish sauce. Like bees stinging my lips, a rush of tears you never fail to excite me!
(4)Jon P.
My family and I were one of the first customers to come to this place. Every time we step in, we are welcomed and we feel at home. The food here is great and it's difficult to find a decent traditional Thai restaurant around the area, since Jaiya relocated. The only problem I have is the consistency with their food. It probably is due to the fact that they rotate chefs, but the main chef, also the owner, is a fantastic cook. The only downside I see to this little restaurant is the lack of seats and proper waiters. I often cut them some slack since they seem like they are for the most part international students who have come to learn English, but at the end of the day, it is a business. I would see why some new customers would be fed up with the service. That being said, the dishes that never fail me are the drunken noodles, shrimp padthai, and the side of papaya salad.

Moving here from San Francisco, I have missed the great quality of Asian restaurants found in the Bay Area. Went to Mukda last night and fell in love! Authentic, high quality Thai food in a family setting. We ordered the Calamari as a starter. It was lightly battered, not over done as you get in many places. It tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. The sauce that comes with it is wonderful, not overly sweet as some places will try to satisfy American sweet tastes. For main course we tried the Green Curry with Shrimp and the Pad Kra Pro which is pork with a basil sauce. While we were used to having Pad Kra Pro with ground pork, this came with sliced pork...still it was delicious. The Green Curry was ordered medium, and I was afraid it might not be spicy enough. But alas, it was just the perfect amount of heat. The prices, while higher than I was used to for Thai food, but SF has so much competition I guess that is expected. This made us think we will only go back once and a while, instead of a place we might order take out on a regular basis. Still, I want to go back and try the Pad Thai and other dishes.
(4)Dominic L.
Food is just salty. Beef is of low quality. Beef comes out dry and chewie in dishes. The spring roll has a wierd smell. It smelled like some pesticide If your not expecting quality Thai food. It's ok.
(2)Arash K.
The last time I went to Mukda there was a wine bottle foil top in my red curry. It wasn't just one big piece, it was broken up into many foil pieces. Unfortunately I ordered take out so I couldn't complain. I ended up throwing away my food. It doesn't end here, a while back I had a long piece of hair in my stir fry. I decided to just let that go but since this wine bottle top incident I'm NEVER going back. I can't imagine how much other shit was in other ppls food. Just stay away
(1)Samantha S.
I come here every now and then when I am craving thai. Always get the same thing (I do that at every restaurant) chicken pad se ew. It's very flavorful and never disappoints. Spring rolls are good too. It's close to my house but I believe they're under staffed because once I tried to get it delivered and they told me no...It's a family run business and the same people are always there. Very hard working. Small place but good food!
(4)Sandy L.
The food was good: chicken pad thai, penang curry, tom yum soup, spring rolls. Their desserts are a little lacking but meh. I come here whenever I get cravings for Thai food and it satisfies.
(4)Erica B.
I am in love. The food is amazing (dine-in and delivery). The staff are helpful, especially the cute older man who will take the time to explain everything to you. The small size and bright green walls equipped with gold molding have also stolen my heart. I have nothing but good things to say. FInally validation for living in Levittown.
(5)Richard M.
This place is awesome - one of the best Thai restaurants in Long Island. Try the Papaya Salad - soooo good!
(5)Marina S.
Great find around the Westbury/Hicksville area. I came here with a group of 5. They have lunch specials, ranging from $7 to $11, that come with tofu soup or salad with peanut dressing. The soup is good with lots of flavor, but the salad is very plain. However, the entrees are the true stars of the meal. I ordered the vegetable green curry which came with perfectly cooked jasmine rice, and plenty of eggplant, tofu, basil, peppers, and onions! My coworkers ordered basil fried rice, chicken pad thai, and sweet and sour chicken. All the portions were generous and everyone raved about the delicious food. Great flavors, wonderful service, and cheap! Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the tasty thai iced tea. We will definitely be back! So happy about the discovery!
(4)Bianka F.
The reviews on yelp about this place is dead on, the food is delicious and not expensive at all!
(4)Neha M.
I think I finally found my new Thai spot in Long Island. Delicious food that leaves that sense of craving in your mouth for days. Service was great too, attentive and fast. It is a small place but it wasn't very busy for a Saturday. It's a little off the beaten path and I think that's why not many people go here, but if you're in the area, definitely give it a try. You won't be disappointed. Drunken noodle, pad thai, red curry are all banging. Parking in the back.
(5)Rob B.
Slow, slow, slowww. I've had lunch here quite a number of times. The food is very good, but the wait varies from slow to agonizing. Today, it was over 30 minutes between salad and entree. The husband/wife team does their best, he in the kitchen, she serving and managing the front, but the kitchen always falls behind, made worse I think by phone orders. Go only if you're the patient sort.
(3)Dave N.
This place makes the loss of Jai Ya not that upsetting anymore. Great, great thai food. The honey duck is awesome (duck cooked to perfection and great sauces). Service is great too (everyone is really nice). Entrees are cheap for a thai place especially if you get the price fix menu which is 5 courses for $21. Don't let the small venue fool you, this is one of the better choices for thai.
(5)Andrew J.
Mukda's food changed significantly across 2012. I can no longer recommend it as strongly as I did earlier.
(2)Carbon F.
Great place. The service in this place is second to none. I went here one night and my wife forgot her cell there. They waited till 11:30 for us to pick it up...who does that!!!! They even called me to let us know we had left the phone at the restaurant. The food is on par with some of the best Thai restaurants I've been too. Easy 5 stars and it seems everyone here agrees with me. I'm updating my review as of 7/29/14. I've loved this place over the years but recently the service has been lacking. From reading the other reviews I've noticed my experience hasn't been as bad but should be noted. So here goes...I always ask for my food to be on the mild side or not spicy. When I get my food it's not always consistent with my requests. I've once had my order so spicy (after requesting for mild or better) that I was literally sweating while eating the food. Why didn't I return it...well most of my orders are take out. I buy the food and eat at work. I have no time to ask for a new order because my job is time sensitive. So I'm forced to eat the food whether it's too spicy or just right. The food is still good IMO but they never get the spice correct. Secondly, I've noticed a huge turnover in waiters and waitresses. It really hasn't affected my dining experience but it doesn't look good for management. I'm changing my rating from 5 to 4 stars due to the little bump in service. It may seem minor but if I'm going to give 5 stars it's going to be a perfect dining experience. Even with the 4 stars though I'm not sure I'll return.
(4)Paul V.
I used to say "good food", "horrible service". Now the food is bad as the service. They must have changed chefs or just don't care. Will never walk in there again!
(1)H B.
We've been back for lunch several times and brought along friends. All of us enjoyed our experiences. Great basil fried rice! This place is a hidden gem because it's so cozy and easy to miss unless you've heard about it. We had the dinner special (spring roll, salad, soup, entree, dessert) and enjoyed it. As you can see from our other reviews, we're quite critical about what we eat and we honestly can say we'll return to this restaurant and bring more people to join us. As the others mentioned, this place does serve the quality Thai food. The prices are reasonable too! I recommend you try it for yourself to formulate your own opinion.
(5)Hoang D.
The only thing I like was the Tom Yum soup. Nothing else. Everything we ordered didn't seem to work at all. The place looks outdated and empty. Came here twice and it seemed like we were the only table there.
(2)Mike H.
Since the Thai restaurant next door shut down my wife and I decided to give Mukda a try and we were very happy we did. I have to note that our five year old son was with us as well, but he never eats anything other than white rice (don't get me started). The service was very friendly and the place was very clean. I would have appreciated smaller silverware for my son instead of the soup spoon they had out, but that's secondary. We had three appetizers; Thai Spring Rolls, Steamed Thai Dumplings, and the Chicken Curry Puff. The Spring Rolls were exactly as expected and had a flavorful sauce my wife really enjoyed. The Curry Puffs were wonderful and lightly spicy. I hope they have the option for spicier puffs for future visits. The Thai Dumplings had an interesting texture but I found them overly 'shrimpy' (I do not like fish and enjoy shrimp in small amounts). My wife loved them. For my entree I had the Pad Thai noodles with a side of peanut sauce. The noodles were well made and had a very pleasant taste. The peanut sauce was noticeably home made with chunks of peanut throughout. Next time I will ask that they make it spicier as I did not find it spicy at all. Nor was I offered the option of having it spicy. My wife had the Thai Angel Hair Noodles and raved from the moment she started eating. The noodles had green curry sauce, chicken, co nut sauce, and bamboo shoots. It was enjoyably spicy without overwhelming the flavor, the green curry sauce was more flavorful then the sauce she's had at the previous restaurant, and the coconut milk was actually noticeable in the meal. Most times the coconut milk is hidden under other flavors. We are looking forward to returning to Mukda. My wife has already circled entrees on the take out menu she wants to try. I will give their Drunken Noodles a try next time. -Mike
(5)Anne W.
This is my favorite Thai place. I have ordered the drunken noodles and the pad se ew. Both are good, but I prefer the drunken noodles. We've eaten in once and done take out once and I think I prefer take out. Service is not terrible, but a little spotty. I think they are trying to improve the service.

This is a new restaurant that opened this week. My wife and I have tried to find a new favorite thai place in Hicksville since moving to the area a year ago, and we've been left disappointed - until now. I had the chicken green curry, and thought that Mukda has some of the best I've ever had; even better than several places in Hell's Kitchen NYC. The dish had fantastic flavor and texture. The eggplant appeared to be a slightly different variety than usual and had texture instead of the typical mushy eggplant. In addition to the green curry, my wife had the Siam chicken with peanut sauce, and we split the papaya salad and Tom Kha soup. Everything was excellent. The papaya salad was surprisingly spicy, but not too hot to enjoy. My wife had only good things to say about the soup, her entree was very good too. Prices are fairly standard for thai restaurants. Entrees are $10-15, and apps are $5-8. The service was excellent. Also note that parking is in the back of the restaurant. If you are looking for good Thai food, definitely consider this restaurant.
(5)Bobo Y.
Good Thai food here, but some times can be very slow here. You can find real Thai food from this place. We have been coming here many times.
(3)Aman V.
Small Restaurant, called them and advised them we would be 5 people but we will be there by 10pm, they were hestitant but said ok in the end. We felt bad so we just took take out. Ordered food about 75 bucks worth, the food was ok, I asked for spicy hot but was given sweet food which was upsetting. Espically told them no meat and no egg even the person who took the order asked us you want no egg right we confirmed but while eating we got egg not only that the rest of the food tasted as if either it was cooked in same dish or batter in egg. Went back this morning to tell them and the owner was like we put egg in only one dish and I stated that why did you put egg when I specially asked not to then she said we only put in one... I make you new one she said but I said no thank you as I was already upset with the food. She then started to give me a attitude and said ok what do you want, I said nothing I just wanted to advise you that the entire meal was not to my taste and had egg in it and she wouldn't stop arguing that it had no egg and said ok bye... thank you and rudely asked me to leave.

I've tried a few thai places around Hicksville and this new little place was surprisingly good. Their seafood papaya salad and calamari was a great start for appetizers and my husband couldn't stop raving about the basil duck. I had the pad thai and it was pretty good. Staff service was great and they were so friendly. When we left it was raining really hard outside and the staff escorted us out to the car with their umbrella. This place is a keeper!

Cool little place... family style... appetizers are great, tasty and light... entrees were good and filling... just be aware that some dishes can be really spicy...

This is a pretty solid place to get Thai food. If you are getting take out it can take a little bit of time since the kitchen is slow. I got the pad Thai for lunch and dinner once. The lunch special oddly enough was almost twice the size as the dinner but half the price. Although the dinner pad Thai was much tastier. The noodles were al dente and had a delicious stir fry flavor to it. Also the Thai ice tea is great. Flavorful and perfectly sweet.

TASTE GREAT. A LOT OF CHOICES. QUICK SERVICE. AND NOT EXPENSIVE. I decided to go here for lunch, and requested for the "Chicken" Drunken Noodle. I also asked if they can make it extra spicy. The wait time was not long at all, which is perfect if you work around the area. The serving amount was good and the food taste great. However, if you love spicy ... the extra spicy that I requested, was not noticeable at all. As a reference, spicy is "Category 5 Hot Hurricane Sauce" from "Hurricane Grill & Wings". The plus side, the waiter offered a plate that had 4 different containers with different spices, so I can season to my liking. I managed to get a little kick out of my Drunken Noodles. I did came back the same day for a dinner take out. I tried the Thai Basil Fried Rice (Chicken) and my wife tried the Pineapple Fried Rice (Chicken). It taste good, but I prefer the noodles. I also noticed there was less chicken and pineapple in our dishes. I wonder if that has anything to do with being a Take Out? Overall, I would come back again. This time to try the Chicken Pad Thai. I minus a star, due to the take out experience ... not enough chicken or pineapple ... it was all rice!!!

I have eaten here 15 times The Good - Food is decent. Not eye poppingly delicious but its a solid thai food joint. I use drunken noodle as a barometer at all new thai food places because it seems to be one of the most consistent dishes. Mukdah has good drunken noodle. I have gotten basil duck 3-5 times and its always overdone.... This means about 20% of the dish is left uneaten bc its inedibley tough/chewey/overdone. I shouldndt still be super hungry after Ive eaten a $19 "entree". In retrospect, you can just lump this into the bad category too. The Bad - Two words: CUSTOMER SERVICE.... or lack thereof I should say. They are ALWAYS understaffed. I really cannot believe that there are not scores of negative reviews regarding this blatanly obvious aspect of the dining experience here. Its BRUTAL. The restaurant is small so clearly management feels as though its acceptable to employ one "restaurant person" to handle ALL the tables, take orders on the phone, handle walk in customers, and troubleshoot whatever may happen on the fly. Its simply RIDICULOUS. When there is a packed house, you might have your water refilled twice in 40 minutes. You may not see your waiter/waitress for 20 minutes. Its simply unacceptable, and its happened 14 out of 15 times. UNACCEPTABLE. Go take a seminar on running a business in America (or better yet in NY) then come back. The ugly - Total lack of business acumen. Total lack of customer service skills. **** I will not come back here. I will give you a rundwon of my last visit to illustrate why: I was heading to Hicksville from Queens to visit my mom. She placed an order at 7:50PM. I arrived at 8:25PM (35 mins). The one "restaurant person" working was flustered and confused. She could not find my order and kept trying to give me someone else's order. When she inexplicabley didnt recognize my name or contents of my order, I offered to give her the # I called from. Before I could even get my phone out of my pocket, she rudely acknowledged I was doing so, grunted, and dashed off to her other 9 tasks. I ended up sitting there for 20 minutes (55 minutes after I originally palced my order) before everything was settled. Eventually, the owner came out of the kitchen. She was noticabley annoyed by her worker person, and tried to quell the situation but also came off as rude and lacked basic customer service skills. You would imagine that I would either get something for free or have some $ deducted from my bill for this immense inconvenience (was literally about to walk out). This is what you do in a reputable and well run restauraunt here in NY in order to retain business. I could go on and on but its not worth it, and neither is this place. Tiny Thai in Farmingdale is MUCH better and Lemon Leaf Grill up the street is also superior (both without the god awful service). **** Cheers and good luck!

It was fine but nothing to write home about. Ordered beef panang spicy. Flavor was o.k. but definitely in the bottom quartile of panangs I've ever had, and definitely was not spicy as I requested. I was going to order fried banana for dessert, but the waitress encouraged me to order the pumpkin custard. That was a mistake. She came back about five minutes later appologizing that they didn't have any. Needless to say, I just asked for my check at that point. The cheesy gold spray painted window frames are pretty cool though, and bumped the rating up to three stars.

Recently moved back to the U.S. from Bangkok, Thailand and was on Long Island for work. A friend and I scanned Thai Restaurant reviews and decided to try this one. Wasn't too impressed with the food assembled from cans and the freezer packaging to be honest. The restaurant was for the most part clean and service was adequate. As for the Chicken Pad Thai ordered by my guest I cannot accurately comment on as I had none of it. However I was told it was not fresh and seemed to be from frozen noodles. I ordered the Vegetable Tom Ka soup, Thai vegetable salad and vegetable spring rolls. The ingredients of the Tom Ka were from a can and not made fresh, the Thai salad was merely a pedestrian salad of iceberg lettuce, strands of carrot, a piece of cucumber, one tomato, and peanut dressing, the vegetable spring rolls had the texture of a microwaved spring roll. I guess if you're looking for Thai like food, this would be an average location to visit. But I also realize, everyone's tastes are different and reviews are subjective. I'm not a food snob by any means, but I can definitely differentiate between canned and fresh made foods.

Food gets 5 stars, service gets 1 star. Before I start ripping apart the slowest service I've had in recent memory I should mention that I will be back. Went in Sunday night around 6 pm with my fiance. We got seated and menus right away. About 10 minutes after we were ready to order, someone came over and took our order. They were miserably understaffed. We each ordered the $17 prix fixe (an outstanding deal) that had soup, salad, appetizer, entree and desert. We also ordered thai iced teas (which never came and had to be removed from the bill). We weren't in a rush, but we were there waaaay longer than we would have liked. Our appetizers, soups and salads came out all at once, then it was about 30 minutes before our entrees came out. I should mention that there was only 1 other table (of 3) seated in the restaurant when we arrived and 2 other tables seated when we left. After we asked for the check it was a full 35 minutes before my credit card was back at the table and we were able to leave. We were literally counting our singles and other bills with the intent of paying cash and demanding the card back it took so long when it finally arrived. All in all two and a half hours for a meal that probably should have had us in and out the door in 45 minutes is unacceptable. On to the good: the food was awesome. Nothing came out spicy, which is my only complaint and it isn't even really a complaint.

I been working in the same office for a year and this is the 1st time I tried Mukda even though its literally 3 blocks away. I usually go to Jaya which closed down in Hicksville. This place is not big at all ( no more than 30 people can be there are the same time) I I ordered the lunch special which was amazing ( a little salty) which mixing with rice helps out and I became an instant fan . I can not comment on the service since I ordered out.

Great service, great food. I saw this review and tried there. As the rating shows, you will enjoy the food and the service. I went in the lunch time and tried chicken curry puff for appetizer, Tom yam soup, pat Thai, drunken noodle and Thai ice tea. All of them tasted very delicious. The vegetable they used were fresh, flavor was good. You will not be disappointed to try. I will definitely go back there again.

Our new favorite thai place! We've tried a number of thai places in long island and queens, and mukda is really the one of the top places. They are new and the staff is extremely friendly, and the food is cooked just right. I usually order the pad thai with tofu at most thai places I go ( i know very adventurous) which is why I can be a good judge of which place has good pad thai =) Their pad thai was just right, not too sweet with just enough spices and the tofu was great! My husband has many of the dishes and so far he's been happy with all of them, which is tough since he's very particular about his thai food ! Friendly staff + nice restaurant + great thai food = our new fav thai place!

Seriously good eats. HAd Green papaya salad and drunken noodles with chicken. Noodels were home made and just like you get them in Bangkok. Authentic Thai, best around hands down. Bookmark this hidden gem.

love this place, real thai taste and amazing price too. The decor is simple and clean, they have only been open a few months and i hope they stay forever. the food had all the elements of real thai cuisine, the tom yum soup immediately let me know this was the real deal. check it out, you will not be disappointed. they just got a liquor license!!!! as of Jan 2012

Interesting to see such a high rating. I've had a lot of Thai food and this place is OK; not bad but nothing special. Reasonably priced, it will do when you want some Thai.

Nice atmosphere, maybe 10 tables, very clean. Drunken noodle dish was excellent and chicken satay was ok, not bad but not the best I have had. Dishes run around ten dollars each. Would recommend to friends. Decent Thai when you can't make it to the city. Will return.

As far as Thai food on Long Island goes, I haven't been to a better one than Mudka. It has put Jai Ya (down the street next to I-Hop) out of business with its ambient atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food. It feels like you are sitting in your dining room at this place, because it is hardly ever full. Although there are only about 10-12 tables, the service is always prompt. If you are a fan of Thai Iced Tea or Thai Coffee I would say that they have quite the more delectable taste than most Thai restaurants. The size portions of the appetizers and entrees fit their respective price ranges. I have nothing but good things to say about this place and have been many times. They also deliver if you live close by!

Super delicious. Though they didn't have what I wanted on the menu , they made it to order for me. The owners are lovely. They threw in a yummy dessert with my take out.

I ordered my usual favorites, Drunken Noodle and Eggplant. I wasn't expecting much from a restaurant in Long Island and was pleasantly surprised that both dishes were at par with my favorite thai restaurant located in Manhattan (and I eat a lot of thai). Both veggies and noodles tasted fresh and deliciously seasoned. My husband ordered a chicken dish and loved it (and he is super picky). Furthermore, the owners are really friendly. My only suggestion is that I like my food spicy and although the Drunken Noodle is meant to be spicy it wasn't really spicy enough for me. So if you like your food spicy like me you may want to request extra spicy here. The only other thing I should add since my husband prefers brown rice he was disappointed they didn't have any. But they still get 5 stars in my book!

This is my new go-to place for pad thai. Can't go wrong with thai iced teas, they are so good. Have been here a few times and also ordered take out. Everything has always been great. Only issue is over the phone sometimes there can be a language barrier. My husband's pad thai order came back wrong once or twice. He is pretty picky and doesn't like anything but noodles, egg sauce and peanuts. I think it all depends on who you get on the phone. It tastes so good, I won't knock off any stars for that.

My husband is Thai, so he knows a good place from a bad place. The place is small it can seat about 30 people and that might be pushing it. The food has the potential to be better, with a little more seasoning and thal flavors this place would be close to perfection. The one dish that I did not care for and would not order again is the Pad Thai, not sure if the chef was having a bad night but the chicken was dry and the noddles were more than dry. Would I go back yes, would it be in my top 10 of thai places no.

small cute place. not good for groups. We had a group of 5 college girls and I'm sure we were disruptive to other customers because they couldn't really avoid hearing our conversations. Food came out at different times so some of us who were served frst had cold food by the time others had just gotten their meals. Tom yum soup was great, drunken noodles were awesome, cashew sauce was awesome. I'd definitely get food from here again, but TAKE OUT only.

Sawasdee Ka... I am Thai. I stumbled across this little restaurant because we just moved into the area from Queens, where there is an abundance of places to choose from. The food here is good, geared towards the American palate (as most are) but very close to the authentic flavors. There are many quick and easy dishes to choose from like: Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, Papaya Salad, Chicken Basil, Curries and Seafood. Dishes can be made to one's "spice meter". (I always hear people say how Thai food is SOOOO spicy... but not ALL our dishes are hot... Just ask for the less suicidal level) The prices are reasonable for a quick lunch. The restaurant itself is rather tiny but quaint. I would totally recommend this place! Khrob Khun Ka.
