Got the Kalua pig plate. Had the craving for it. It was ono (good) and hit the spot! :)

While on business at Fort Drum, I was surprised to find a L&L Hawaiian BBQ franchise in Upstate New York. I could finally scratch my plate lunch itch! Ono for a lau lau, but they only make that on the weekends. Ordered a chicken katsu curry instead. Tasty, with a lot of katsu. I polished off all the curry sauce and still had enough katsu to take for leftovers. The mac salad was pretty good too. Is it on par with Rainbow Drive-Inn and Grace's back in Hawaii? No, but you wouldn't expect a BBQ joint here to be like Memphis or Texas barbeque either. This L&L is tasty, provides good value, and more food than expected- just the thing for a homesick Hawaiian. Recommend and will repeat whenever I'm in the area.

Such a delight! Who expects traditional, native Hawaiian fare in sleepy Fort Drum? Absolutely delicious and so friendly. Everything you remember, starting with the spam musubi, to pork Laulau and Kahlua pork and moco loco done the right way. Truly a hidden gem among the Mc-Cra-Pan-King chains littered about. It's great to have choices, especially wallet friendly options like L&L. It's all good!

I'm giving this place a 1&1/2 star rating. The food is good, not great but good. The cost for the food is cheap, you're getting a pretty good deal if you actually get what you ordered.. Speaking of that.. The SERVICE here is horrendous. They'll take your order and then swap it with someone else's. I understand that some items are easier to make and there is a maximum capacity on their grill or deep fryer but if my friend ordered a BBQ Chicken bowl and three orders of BBQ Chicken meals were made AFTER him, don't you think the one who ordered it first should get it first? Also, if the cashier or whoever is taking the order messes up on THEIR INTERPRETATION of what was ordered, how is that the customer's fault? The most recent order I made, which is also the final order I will ever make from this facility, was an order of Lau Lau Combo w/Brown rice, Mini Beef Curry w/Brown rice, Bottled Water, and a side of Macaroni Salad. After I placed my order, it was read back to me and confirmed. Then when I get my food, it was what I asked for EXCEPT my Lau Lau Combo got demoted to a Pork Lau Lau. With good faith that I would get what I ordered, I gave them a 7 dollar tip, totalling my order to $30. But when I told the manager what had happened, all she has to tell me is that I paid for what I got. Lady, I paid for what I was told that would be served to me. Also, it would be nice if you gave me a copy of the stinking receipt. Also, if you are going to calculate tips, let me do it after I get the food, especially if you won't give me what I ordered. I would definitely not have given a tip over 10% if I knew how shitty the service would've been. If you do want to try this place, go in person. Make sure they get your order right and don't be afraid to badger them when it takes almost an hour and thirty minutes to get your food. Also, check your food and make sure it is what you ordered before you walk away with it. And don't give them a tip up front. Get your food and then decide if you want to give them a tip in cash. Tips = quality of service.

Purely amazing. Went in on a Sunday and was able to get the pork lau lau which was seriously not my style. I have had it before elsewhere and honestly, idk why I got it I wad just so excited to get something from Hawaii in the coldest place I've been to in October that I looked past the fact that I didn't like it. Anyway I also ha the Kahlua pig which was banging. Even if the Aloha cans of juice we're not available I'd say this place is authentic but they have them so. .... they are pretty legit here.

BBQ mix is an awesome dish. You get a ton of food and it all tastes great. The rice wasn't mushy and the meat was cooked with a delicious sauce. I avoided this place because of the negative reviews but after a recommendation from multiple friends I decided to try it out and I'm glad I did!

Their chicken katsu was pretty fatty and dried out I make better in my own kitchen. My husband liked his curry though. And I appreciated their HawaiiMac salad.

-Rice seemed over-cooked, it was mushy, but it tasted alright -Half the chicken I ordered was chewy but the other half was really good (BBQ Chicken) -I was hungry so overall it was ok, but it wasn't amazing

Hawaiian BBQ? What an odd concept! Or so I thought. A friend talked me into trying L&L and I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant itself is very generic and devoid of decor/ atmosphere, probably because most of its customers take out rather than eat in. We popped in for an early Saturday dinner, to eat in house. My friend ordered BBQ beef, which came with macaroni salad and cole slaw. He described the mac salad as the best anywhere local, but I took a tiny bite and found it just okay. Very creamy. The beef is more Teriyaki style, a little bit sweet, without being overpowering. I had the garlic shrimp, which they offer in "regular" or "healthy" style. I think the "healthy" referred to the fact that it came with a green salad, as opposed to the way the shrimp was cooked. The shrimp was lightly fried, not greasy, neither crispy nor soggy. It had a pleasant texture. The garlic, I tasted more afterwards than during the meal. The salad seemed fresh. It's served with packets of Ken's brand dressing. Other sides included cold kidney beans and a scoop of white rice (they were out of brown). The employees were cordial. Wait time was average. I would definitely go back here!

Very good! I had never had any Hawaiian food so I don't know how authentic it is. The servings were large and very tasty. My husband and both loved the sticky rice. I look forward to trying more of the pork dishes. It is quite dirty and service was REALLY slow. But the tasty food was worth the wait.

I'd give it 2 1/2 stars. It's really the only Hawaiian place in town. Their BBQ chicken was delecious. The service was poor- one man operation. The macaroni salad was ok. Overall they do ok and if you want Hawaii food here this is the place to stop but compared to other Hawaii food it's lacking.

Not as good as the L&L in Los Angeles and definitely not as good as Rainbow Drive-Inn in Honolulu, but I love me some Hawaiian food. I'll likely be a regular due to the close proximity of the location to Fort Drum.

Over cooked meat on the BAR B QUE sampler platter. More like Jerky. Very disappointed

This place is awesome! Bright and cheery atmosphere, friendly staff and very well seasoned food. It's hard to see what's on the menu so bring your glasses.

I am very picky with meat and honestly this place serves more fat than red meat. The side salad was good but other than that i was just picking at the food. The staff are very friendly.

Just like any franchise it's a hit or miss on some days. It's a good alternative to the other choices here. Can never go wrong with Chicken Katsu here. They're are polite and service is quick. I go back everything I get urges for Hawaiian style food.

I was very disapointed. This l&l is nothing like the ones in WA. Too much water was obviously added to the rice while they were in the process of cooking it. Husbands short ribs were burnt & my chicken katsu was way too dry & the sauce was watery. The only thing good about this place is their Mac salad & customer service. I will definitely not be going back there.

The rice was mushy, the pork bowl was flavorless along with the macaroni salad they serve on the side. The only reason i gave them a star is because their short ribs were good.
