Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

This was our 6th or 7th visit to this classic Italian restaurant. As in previous visits everything was excellent from the wait staff to the excellent food. My wife started with the seafood salad and she loved it. I had a lobster crepe in a lobster cream sauce with cognac. Problem is it was a special for the evening. It should be on the menu. It was delicious. I asked for a special dish and they were very accommodating. My wife ordered the African lobster broiled without butter Unfortunately it was dry. They immediately redid it without question and the steamed tails were excellent. We felt it was our fault because we knew we should have ordered it steamed to start with. The Tartufo was excellent. Four stars only because of the dried tails, while while I said was our fault , it still shouldn't have happened

There is one dish that you MUST have at Mario.. That would be the Cannelloni all'Italiana. Noodles filled with meat. Amazing. The sauce on the food here is so unique, I can't help but rave about it. The decor is gorgeous and the service is absolutely above and beyond. It's not often you find a restaurant with the whole package like this one. I was so happy with my experience here that I told all of my friends and now the whole office is planning a get together coming up.. I'm sure you can guess where that will be!!!!

I went again after my rave review and unfortunately it did not compare to my first experience. Mandatory valet is not necessary when the parking lot is big enough. The rice balls as an appetizer was not creamy and the rice tasted like carolina and not arbrio. The bolognese sauce was very good, but looking over the menu again, there really wasnt that much options. So many veal dishes. If you want t a nice romantic experience and you are feeling for pasta, I would suggest Marios, but my hunt continues for my favorite Italian place

An old world Italian restaurant . Dinner and service deserve the 5 stars .The owner is at the front door . Valet parking . Overall a very nice dining experience !!

Our family's favorite for all events and holidays! Delicious food that you cannot find anywhere else. Really cozy atmosphere and great service and owners. HIGHLY recommended for a change in pace.

If your looking for a great restaurant this is it. I love this place. I've been coming here for about 15 years, on and off and it hasn't changed. From the marinated steaks to the delicious seafood this is the place. Try the stuffed avocado with seafood appetizer when in season.one of my favorites.

Mario is an institution. I have gone there since I was young, but recently rediscovered it. In my mind, the food was always outstanding and the service incredible. Now as a middle aged man, I realize how just how rare it is to do something so well for so long. The food is outstanding. The sauces, pasta or cuts of meat are always top notch. The waiters know the menu and can recite the specials like it is a poetry reading. Then they can describe how everything is prepared. You want something made your way? No problem. Good luck trying to empty your water glass, someone will fill it in seconds. I've never spoken to anyone that's had a bad meal there. Here's the thing. You could spend much, much more on a meal elsewhere, and never come close to the quality or service of this place. Tonight I had a lobster crepe as an appetizer, and a pesto pasta with chicken. My wife had the hay and straw. Last time I had a steak. Consistently delicious. Some things should never change.

Creepy ambiance and service... but the food is fantastic. I've dined there many times and I've never had a bad meal. The bar is cozy and the drinks are good. No clue why they need a valet when the parking lot is smaller than my driveway, but who cares. Good Italian food here.

My family and I dine here at least once a year if not more. They offer delicious Northern Italian cuisine and some food is actually prepared table-side. The service is always fantastic. I love the Spadieno. Delicious appetizer. If they have it on special, please order the Rigatoni Genovese. SO GOOD. Dessert? Go for the Strawberries Flambe or a traditional Tartuffo. Cappuccino is delicious, too! Even when it's not on special I've asked them to make it and they have! One of my favorite places to dine.

Very good food, very good service and all of the water you can possibly drink. This is a solid 4. The menu is very deep. If you like Italian food at all you will find something here. Our table had steak, pasta carbonara, sauteed shrimp and artichokes and chicken/eggplant parm. Everything was very, very good. I asked for a small side of pasta and it was no problem. This is a place that wants to provide good food with excellent service. This is a treasure in the middle of nowhere. I drink a lot of water and I could never finish a glass without someone coming by and filling it up.

A group of fifteen descended last evening. The staff took expert care of us and provided each and every person with hot food. Even more importantly, they took the time to bill us as couples, singles and small groups of three. Most restaurants hate to do this but Mario restaurant took on the task without breaking a sweat. Finally not only was the service great, but of course, so was the food. Not one person had a complaint. And there were a bunch of fussy Sicilians in the group. No disappointments here.

Restaurant Mario is a lovely experience. The decor is a little tired, but the food is great. Don't be afraid to try the specials, they're usually available for a reason. The chicken marsala is also very, very good. It can be a little crowded, but it's fine.

We were in town for a wedding. After searching Yelp we decided on Mario's since it had rave reviews. I ordered the manicotti, figuring it was a safe bet, since it was an Italian restaurant. The 2 manicotti were served with about 1 lb of mozzarella cheese, which completely over powered the dish. I could not taste the manicotti at all. After scrapping the cheese off, there was little red sauce and the ricotta cheese was very dry. The desserts were outstanding. The wine was good. The staff was friendly. The other people in my party enjoyed their dishes. I would stay clear of the manicotti.

Consistent, old-school higher-class Italian restaurant. Their menu is huge and they'll make you anything you want anyway. Everything tastes good.

Get a f--king high chair!!! The food is average at best. Not kid friendly at all!!!! Many better Italian places on the island. This is not the 1970s, people bring their kids everywhere nowadays.

I have been to Mario's several times over the past few years and have never had a bad meal here. While it isn't the cheapest Italian food on Long Island ... I'd say it is one of those places that is worth spending a little extra on. Don't let the cheesy outside fool you ... the first time I drove past and saw that the building exterior was painted to look like fake brick and vines, I thought I would keep right on driving. Although the exterior looks more like something you'd see painted on a wall mural in a high school cafeteria, the inside is warm and classy looking with dark wood and brass. The food is so good here it makes me look past one of my biggest restaurant pet peeves ... manditory valet parking with no reason. I understand that there is limited parking here, but during times where there is not a big rush, it seems foolish to require valet parking where you literally watch a valet get in your car and move it 25 feet from where you are standing into a row of empty spots on a Wednesday night an hour before closing. There are business papers, GPS units, etc. to be concerned about not to mention the tip you have to give someone for moving your car 25 feet. This is the only thing I'd change about this place. The staff here are a great group. There is a little snooty-ness going on if you are an outsider at first. But the staff warm up to you after a while and you feel more like a friend than a customer. They like to joke around with each other and you can tell that they enjoy working at the restaurant ... its not uncommon to see many of the same faces over the years, which is not always something you find in the Long Island restaurant industry. The food here is amazing. It is not over or under seasoned ... cooked perfectly and each dish is made to order, it would seem. Every meal I've had here has been consistent in terms of the quality and ingredients, which keeps me coming back. My favorite thing on the menu is the Veal Parmigana ... which comes BONE IN! Something you hardly ever find anymore. The only other place I've had it served this way at was Mastros in Beverly Hills. The pastas are all pretty good and most entrees come with vegetables on the side, which is nice. I've had dessert here several times, which is okay. Your typical Italian pastries and cakes. A great way to round out a nice meal. It is clear that the chef/owner know their way around fine dining ... Mario is a bit of a local legend when it comes to restaurantaurs in the area. So, you will be treated to some fine Italian dining here ... it is on the fancy/pretentious end of the spectrum. So, if you are looking for ol' fashioned no frills pasta and gravy ... this aint the place. If you are closing a big business deal, have some money to throw around or are celebrating an anniversary ... this is the place to do it. I can see why some people would call the atmosphere 'creepy' if you aren't a regular. Everyone does seem to know each other here. But, the food is so good that you too will eventually become a regular. If you are looking for fine Italian dining without the 'dated' menus and decor of other nearby Italian restaurants ... this will be a go to spot for you.

Ask for your favorite meal and they will try to accommodate. Last night I had a great veal chop with a chestnut sauce that was out of this world. My wife had their red snapper which was on par with the best fish houses on Long Island.. Desserts were good and generous. What can I say, great meal at reasonable cost
(4)Ronnie T.
Always loved this place. Great ambiance and food was just so good. Never had a bad meal. They will make any pasta you want with almost any sauce. I'm a huge fan of a good pasta with a nice brown sauce!! Yes, brown sauce Lolol. And list is amazing. Love this place.

Service was excellent with the large group of us. Waters were always filled properly. They were very accommodating. The only complaint is they did not have booster seats or a changing table in the bathroom. But, who knows how often children come in here. However, the food was delicious! We had it served family style. We had clams casino, bacon wrapped scallops, stuffed shrimp, stuffed clams, stuffed mussels. We also had penne ala vodka and pasta with broccoli and garlic. We had chicken parmesan, shrimp franchese and peppers with sausage. We ended with cake(baptism celebration) and fruit at the end. Everything was delicious! ! Will certainly come back here!!

The chicken Marsala with shrimp and the grilled salmon were delicious!! Service was fast, staff was friendly, is not cheap but is totally worth it. Even the capuchin was great: made in a original machine used by baristas. I was so full I couldn't have desert but saw a couple of tables having them and saying was delicious. Great place.

This was sooooo good. I went there with some coworkers and we got different dishes which we all loved. I had a seafood fettuccine that was delicious! Great pre-dinner bread and great dessert. The staff there seemed as though they were from Italy and with some of the best service I have had in a long time. I highly recommend this restaurant. The prices are great for what you get too. They could charge twice as much although I'm glad they don't.
(5)J L.
Overall amazing experience. Excellent food, great service and reasonable price. Strongly recommend the lobster crepe and buffalo mozarella appetizers. All of their food is excellent. Definitely will go back.
(5)William M.
Very good pizza for a decent price. I love the chicken parm pizza here. I usually come here when I am looking for some sort of speciality slice. The slices are big and they don't go light on the topping.

Mario is a typical "old school" itailan restaurant in NY. The staff is like family and yes regulars do get treated different there, but new customers are always accommodated with top notch hospitality. I'm one of those regulars at Mario, i go there frequently and i must say they take pride on what they serve to their clientele, from the sauces, cold cuts, fish and meats , everything is fresh top notch, best quality. The best appetizers to have is the stuffed portobello mushrooms, baked clams and the calamari. My favorite dish is the veal chop here its always enough to share and cooked to perfection. The wine list is OK, nothing that is extraordinary, but again this is an establishment that had the same wines same appetizers, same dishes for decades. They do valet parking even though it might seem like a small parking lot. The reason they do that is because they do tons of caterings and parties that are held at mario so they try to control the car traffic inside the lot as much as possible.

Mario ' s is always a good stop for a nice Italian dinner. The waiter staff is very professional and know the menu very well. They aim to make your experience a good one. The food has always been excellent.......they do a very nice job with groups as well.

We have been going to Mario's for years New Years Eve with the same couple. Last night we received the MOST unacceptable treatment. Unfortunately our friend is now in a wheelchair because of a stroke. When we called to make the reservation over a month ago the first thing we said and repeated was about the wheelchair, we were told "don't worry". We arrived at 7pm for our reservation, the owner was there to receive us and abruptly said "you should have said wheelchair when making your reservation!" We calmly said we did, he then raised his voice and repeated himself. He then said " now I have to see where I can put you!" We then said we are sorry you were not told he once again raised his voice and said "what do you want to argue with me! He abruptly walked us through the bar and sat us by the kitchen. Our friend in the wheelchair was so embarrassed by the scene that was made. How can anyone treat a handicapped person like that? Especially a restaurant owner. Thank goodness our waiters were lovely and accomidating making the rest of the evening lovely.

As far as vintage Italian restaurants go, this one is on the money. Good food; gruff, to the point service; and charming, classic decor make Mario's a staple in Hauppauge. So if you're in the area and looking for a Italian beyond pizza and salad, Mario's is a good options with it's own uniquely New York Italian character. PS: I have no idea why the have valet parking. The parking lot is very small, but I suppose it adds to the charm.

I've dinned at Mario's many times and this restaurant still remains near the top of my favorite restaurant list. Food is consistently outstanding as is the service. There were five of us this time around and we all ordered something different. Every dish from the lobster to the steak to the pasta plate...just outstanding! I have nothing more to say.

Mario is a classic, high end Italian restaurant. The wait staff is professional and I get the impression they've all worked there for years. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and inviting and they have a large bar area for cocktails while waiting for a table. Although if you have a reservation, you rarely have to wait. The food here is always high quality, fresh and delicious. The seafood salad is delicious. I've come here and have has this alone for lunch many times. Their pastas are great. I've had their chicken dishes, veal as well as fish. They will accommodate just about any request. If you prefer vegetables, not a problem. Don't want that sauce on your fish? How do you want it? I've not ever tried dessert here as I'm usually too full! If you're in the Commack/Hauppage area and want a high-end Italian dining experience, go to Mario.

Unusual old style service. Go with friends for a relaxed long dinner, do not expect to eat and run. The service is good and set up for you to take your time. First impression was they were ignoring us but no it's just set up that way. All 4 apps were excellent, all 4 main courses also excellent. We ordered 3 deserts and all were very good. We sat and talked and no one tried to rush us out the door.

When I was younger and went out to port Jefferson I always remember going here and having great dinner . I also had my bday dinner here one year

Had an appointment in town and had time to kill. Checked in here on YELP and based on reviews, we tried Mario's. So glad we did! Everything was cooked to perfection! Succulent chicken and prosciutto in a rich demi-glacé. Shrimp and artichokes Francese that just popped on your tongue. Flat Iron steak with porcini mushrooms in a tarragon red wine reduction that just melted in your mouth. The lobster crepe appetizer was delicious as well. Service, impeccable. We live about an hour away, but would definitely make the special trip just to eat at Mario's once again!

My husband and I used to go to Mario's about 10 years ago, even had my surprise birthday party there and the food was always amazing. Last week we decided to head back to Marios, not sure of how the past 10 years had effected the quality of the food and the service. I must say that it was even better than it was 10 years ago! It truly is one of the most authentic Italian restaurants on Long Island. We started with a seafood salad which was incredible, followed by red snapper steamed in a thin marinara sauce with clams and mussles and finished with Zabaione which is made right in front of you! Everything was top notch and the service is impeccable. Cheers to Michael, our server, for being so patient and sociable!

Excellent food and excellent service! I had the Sole oreganatta. Very good. Was there for a private affair downstairs. Had a great time.

Great ! Excellent value mixed with 1st class friendly service....
(5)Lisa M.
This place is always consistently outstanding. The freshest food, the BEST service. The fried calamari is succulent and light, fish is always fresh. Their specials are inventive and if you can't make up your mind, they will make you anything you want. Italian at its best in Suffolk County!
(5)Mitchell P.
Came here for lunch the other day, was in town for work. Had a great meal, the place was not too crowded. Started with appetizers that were great, crab meat cocktail, and this mozz, tomato, balsamic thing where the mozz was filled with ricotta. Both were delicious. Had the chicken marsala for lunch and it was great. Would definitely return if i am in the area.
(5)Dave G.
Went there for lunch. Uninspired decor. Tasteless spinach and egg soup. Sole Francaise was good. Friendly waiter however it took a while to get bread, water and have the order taken.
