My boyfriend and I get goodies from here through seamlessweb for the most time when we want deli menu. It's the closest thing you can get for a 'gourmet' for a deli around here. What I was most impressed by was their muffins and breakfast omelette. The muffins are not those saran wrapped, stale ones for once!!! The better-homemade style muffins are carefully wrapped in parchment paper & brown bags. The muffin top is crisp and the inside is moist and flavorful. They never skimp on ingredients either, their banana nut muffins are my favorite so far, as I always find big pieces of walnuts everywhere. The cooked-to-order type of dishes (includes breakfast) are also really good, you just can tell when lots of effort with higher standards are put into your food.

Cool location -- literally right off the subway station! Great sandwiches: My cuban arrived as an extravagant pile of warm, soft pork and layers of ham nestled with pickles and mustard. Not too much meat where you'd want a loaf of bread and some other people! Maybe when I return and order other sandwiches I'll change the rating to 5 stars. For now, I star remains docked because the cole slaw was fridge-wilted and sour.

I love New York deli's, they are meant to offer incredible sandwiches, soups and maybe a salad or some other treat. This place is cramped with menus plastered all over the place making it difficult to figure out what to order. With no one in line, and no apparent lunch rush, the men behind the counter asked me 3 times what I wanted, so I quickly decided on a nice sounding panini sandwich. While I was waiting for my sandwich, the counter people asked me to pay. Ok. I brought out my reusable tea cup for a nice tall glass of iced tea, however, I was disappointed when it came back only half full (and half of that was ice). I asked if they could fill it up and they said they could only sell one size of tea. Odd but oh well. I paid, and then got my sandwich (always an odd order of events) and then I was asked if I wanted free potato chips, cole slaw or carrots. I went with the carrots thinking it was the best deal in the world. Then I got the carrots. :( They were expired!! And old and awful, why even offer them?? The sandwich was warm and full of great turkey and brie, but I've never had a sandwich without any lettuce or greens of any kind!! Despite a fairly tasty sandwich, I give this place thumbs down. Summary: This place is unable to accommodate those who bring in reusable cups Sandwiches are ok, but very pricey Service is very rushed even if they're empty They're giving out expired food people!!!!! Who knows how old the items are that don't come packaged with expiration dates!! There are many many better choices in this area!

Good sandwiches, decent coffee, fast service, moderate prices. Not bad for Manhattan. Very busy at lunch, less so for breakfast.

This is my go to deli for breakfast in the neighborhood. Speedy and reliable.

there are two things I love from Champs. The pea soup, only availale on Mondays. Its the classic pea soup with little piecces of ham, its salty and a little garlicy. Simple and really tasty. The onion rings are so so good. They are super crispy because they have a bread crumb coating that gives a great crunch. I've gotten sandwiches and other things and they've all been decent. the prices are typical for delis in that area. If you're lookng for a quick tasty bite, stop in at champs.

This is definitely a go-to place for floor traders at the New York stock exchange, and with good reason: it's cheap (for the neighborhood,) it's fast and the staff is amazingly friendly. There's also a ton of staff so they keep up even when they're really busy. The food is standard deli fare...the omelets are actually a steal at around $4...but it's the smiles of the staff that always get me: it's like you've walked into a different world, seriously. That's why I tacked on one star: service. 5-star places should take a lesson in customer service from this place.

After a miserable experience at the Subway on Water St. and hearing my brother lecture me about living/working in NYC - a place full of GREAT deli's - I decided to try out a deli nearby the office. Of course I came to Yelp first because, well, that's how I roll. After approving of the reviews for Champ's I decided to give it a shot and hit it up. It was about 2pm, but there was still a line for freshly prepared sandwiches so I got in line and waited patiently. The line moved quickly and the service was great. I got the Manhattan Special.... hot roast beef & mozzarella cheese on garlic bread. One word: DELICIOUS! A good sized portion and it wasn't greasy at all. At first I was disappointed by this, but then my arteries thanked me later. I wound up not eating there because I had a bit of work to attend to, but there seemed to be plenty of seating especially at 2pm. Overall I really enjoyed the place and plan on making it a weekly lunch spot. Try it out!

AN EARLY AM DELIVERY TREAT! So what are you supposed to do when you need to eat by 7am on the 47th floor of the Millenium Hilton and don't want to pay for an overpriced room-service breakfast? Champs Gourmet Deli will save your early morning breakfast needs to start off an action packed day! I knew our first morning in NYC we'd need to have an early breakfast where eating in the hotel or eating out of packages were options we didn't want to use. With the help of yelp I found Champs Gourmet Deli. I originally planned to pre-order online, but by the time I remembered on our travel day it was too late. I called them when they opened at 6am and asked if they delivered to our hotel. The person on the line didn't know the hotel proximity by name (strange since it's one of the three largest hotels within blocks) so after giving the address we were cleared for delivery. All we wanted were a couple of spinach and mushroom omelettes. The prices are so inexpensive that it didn't even get to the $10 minimum delivery requirement. I didn't want to waste any food so we were fine paying that much for two items. About 20 minutes later I was called by the front desk to meet the delivery guy in the lobby. It was well worth the early morning elevator ride. The omelettes were not only delicious, but huge in portion. We also received home fries and toast with it. A great value for the price of $14 with delivery tip. At the hotel restaurant we would've paid the same amount for two small glasses of orange juice alone! Phone order by 610am and finished eating by 7am. I couldn't ask for a better start to a long day. I don't have another business I used to compare this too so I'm go with an unorthodox rating: 4 stars for the food + 1 star for the delivery, convenience and value = 5 stars Woohoo! As good as it gets for me! So when staying in a Financial District hotel and you don't want to be robbed (leave that to the rest of Wall Street) by hotel restaurant prices, I highly recommend you give Champs Gourmet Deli a call- or online order. You won't be disappointed by the early morning delivery treat!

Now that I've had a chance to look at the reviews about how great the sandwiches are, I'm kind of disappointed that I didn't try one. I was in a rush when I came here. I quickly used the iPhone Yelp app to find a place close to my Kaplan course, but didn't have time to really read the reviews. What I can tell you is that if you're in a rush, Champs can make you breakfast (even at lunch time) in very short order, and it will be a pretty good breakfast, too. I had French toast. For something that I got at a little deli in the basement of a building in the financial district, I thought it was pretty darn good. I'll have to go back for the sandwiches.

Good food, decent prices, quick service. I didn't find it dirty at all. The line moves really fast and they have a bajillion options (esp for sandwiches). I sat by the window and watched the foot traffic while enjoying my sandwich. I'd return in a heartbeat. Champs is a champ.

Best deli in the Financial District! I go to the location on Exchange Place and Broad Street. Whether you are a first timer or regular, the employees could not be friendlier. Walking in, the first thing you notice is that everyone is working, not standing around being lazy. The sandwiches are well-made, with no skimping on the meat or extras, no matter if it is breakfast, lunch or dinner. Whatever you want, they can make, and and make is fast. Delivery is reliable to boot!

This is probably the place I miss the most in New York. The food is exactly the way you'd think it would taste coming from a hidden deli in NY (brilliant like a diamond in the rough), it's dirt cheap, quick, the service is good (especially if you're a remotely attractive female), and the mix of people is always interesting. I've come here for breakfast and lunch and loved everything I tried. What did I order? I can't remember. But it was really, really fucking good.

  • Tony D.

this place rules for breakfast. i don't give a rat's ass what a deli looks like, so long as their food is top notch.. and champs food is. french toast you say? they've got it and i love it. bacon, egg and cheese? they do it and they kill it. my mouth is watering.. i think i'll have breakfast for lunch today. oh, they make a mean sandwich for lunch too. and it won't break your budget like many of the places downtown.

  • Queen G.

I've been here a couple of times and really haven't enjoyed the food that much. Their coffee is ok, but for the same price I rather get Pret a manger's organic coffee. I had a grilled chicken sandwich for lunch once, and they didn't even warm up the chicken all the way and didn't have toppings like avocado ready and it was only the middle of the day! I haven't tried their breakfast sandwiches, maybe they are better, but I wouldn't try this place.

Don't eat the pumpkin cream cheese muffin... This thing is terrible- tasteless only ate a quarter of it the c.cheese looked like it was curdled.

Champs is a deli just off of Wall Street and a few blocks south of the WTC which will always have a soft spot in my heart. I used to live in the apartments above Champs and I could always count on them for a tasty and reasonably priced breakfast on my way to work. They make great egg sandwiches (turkey, egg, and provolone was my favorite) and you never have to wait long, because employees are very efficient. They serve Boars Head meats, so you know it's good. Because it's so close to WTC, the New York Stock Exchange, and Century 21, you get a lot of tourists in there. I use to love to take the elevator down in the dead of winter in slippers, umbros, and a tee-shirt. The horrified "he must be CRAZY, it's only 14 degrees outside" look on the tourists faces was priceless, but I digress.

  • Opinionated B.

Equipped with cheap food, good food, lightning fast service, and a friendly staff, Champs is like a little dreamboat floating in the midst of financial district mayhem. I come here pretty often for breakfast/lunch, and I'm pleased with my experience every single time. Just remember to keep your elbows sharp when it comes to ordering and paying because there's no real order to the line... Crowd around the counter, make eye contact with one of the staff members, and shout out what you want!

    (4)
  • Miranda B.

Misled by Yelp-fanatics again! This hole-in-the-wall "deli" features Boars' Head deli meats. Their sandwiches are slapped together with no regard for flavor or presentation. Pickles are just as flavorless as the sandwiches, with not a kosher sour pickle in sight. You can grab some potato chips or drinks from a cooler in the back. Iceberg lettuce, cardboard tomatoes ... this place has no idea what the word "flavor" means. I won't be heading back to this one.

i love that this place is so close to me. everything is good and the staff is super friendly. it's always busy here but they know how to keep the lines moving. the menu is big and so far everything i've tried has been great. and the prices aren't too bad, either.

  • Kevin O.

This review is only for breakfast, and I'm not really tempted to eat lunch here. But breakfast is great. Plus, I'm in awe of the guy who runs the breakfast line. Friendly, and extremely fast. I think this should be a case study for an MBA operations class. I guess it's classic NY, there's no rocket science, but I can't imagine a better job getting a lot of people breakfast how they want it quickly, and having them all feel good about the experience.

Blergh! The worst panini ever had. It was COLD. The bread was warm but everything inside was COLD. Freezer cold. Grilled veggies were NOT grilled for sure. They were just slammed in there. NO sauce, no dressing. nothing. Blah. I don't get the whole rusheddd feeling that these places give at lunch time even if they aren't that busy. Neverrr going again.

    (1)
  • Justin G.

Pretty good bacon cheese burger and some delicious fries, relatively cheap too, especially for the location.

    (4)
  • Paul H.

Grabbed a roast beef and cheddar panini to go. Food was ready to go in short order and prices are on par with fast food in the neighborhood. For a quick, cheap lunch spot in the Financial District, it's hard to beat.

I don't buy egg sandwiches daily b/c they're a little too filling for the bleary-eyed hours before 11 a.m. (when most places stop making them), but once in a while I get the exact same thing: two egg whites and one real egg on a toasted roll with butter. I highly recommend this healthy, tasty breakfast. At the deli near where I work, it costs $2.50 (comes to $2.71 with tax), but at Champs, where I went b/c I was down on Wall Street this morning, it was $1.85 (and no tax!) and just as delicious. I have not tried anything else at this place, but the guy taking orders was very nice and very efficient, and my egg sandwich was appropriately wrapped in a stay-hot package. I smoked a whole cigarette before eating, and I still burned my tongue on the first few bites! Also, the bagels, which usually suck at these places, looked pretty good. I didn't check out the beverages section so I don't know whether or not they have fancy juices or aspartame ice cream sundaes.

Champs Gourmet Deli is one of my favorite places for food in the Financial District. In an area that is overrun with giant and overwhelming food court-style delis, Champs stands out as an easy place to get basic food. They don't have a sushi bar or a juice bar or a stir-fry bar or a large selection of hot/cold bar items. However, they do have pretty much all the stand-by food items I might want, and they prepare them with care. They have a grill where everything is cooked to order, a small salad bar, a cold sandwich counter, and a decent selection of baked goods. They also have daily soups and oatmeal. I frequently get egg sandwiches there in the morning, which are prepared exactly to my specifications (one fried egg, cooked through, with cheese on a toasted biali - yum!). They have excellent muffins, which are obviously baked fresh daily (the chocolate chip, cranberry, and coconut are my favorites). They also make great sandwiches for lunch - both hot and cold. All the ingredients are fresh and everything is made to order. Finally, I am very impressed with the staff at Champs. Despite the busy location and small space, they are incredibly efficient. Even at the busiest times of day, you can always count on quick service with very little waiting. Note: The address is listed as 71 Broadway, but the entrance is actually in the back of the building on the corner of Trinity Place and Rector Street. There is a second location on Exchange Place between Broad and New Streets.

Why can't we come up with places like this in LA?! Our version of a deli shop is Subway, Quiznos, and Togos. Where you get maybe 3 slices if you're lucky, of meat, and more lettuce than your mom would even make you eat as a kid. We were in the Financial District, sightseeing the NYSE and the big wigs of Wall Street, when we decided to yelp our way to a deli nearby for a late lunch. Reviews looked promising, and it was a cool, rainy day around 4:30 or so.. so pedestrians around those narrow streets were becoming minimal. When you walk in, you see the deli to your left and the salad bar to the right. We went towards the deli and took a few minutes to glance through the menu on the wall. I decided on a turkey sandwich, because well, I've had my share of turkey sandwiches in my day (am I sounding old now?), and wanted to see how a New York sandwich compared. I know, lame, but that's part of the fun of touristing around in an area known for particular delicacies. :-b When I opened my sandwich, I was mesmerized by the stack of turkey nestled within the bread. I would guesstimate about 1.5 inches of all turkey meat piled on.. with just a leaf of lettuce... This was a show in itself, and the sandwich of all sandwiches. Well, turkey ones at least. The taste was not anything out of this world different or unique from what I've had before, but that's not the point of a NY deli, right? The point (to me) is, it's how they prepare it.. and they did not disappoint. You won't leave hungry.! It comes with a cole slaw or chips, and I, being a huge cole slaw maniac, had to get that, of course. And I must admit, it was the worst cole slaw I've ever had. :( I eat almost anything, and I didn't take more than one forkful of it. It didn't even taste like cole slaw.. eeks!. They shouldn't even offer it, because it contaminates the blissful image of their sandwiches. The shop itself isn't all that clean - and the setup is not cozy or inviting.. BUT, the service is truly excellent. As we sat down to eat, we didn't know they were closing, but by the looks of how they were closing the doors and cleaning up, we noticed yup.. it was time! But the lady at the cash register insisted that we go ahead and stay to eat there, because they'd be there for an hour, cleaning up, anyway. Totally sweet and kind!

We order our lunch from here at least 3x a week. The food is always cheap and delicious. Delivery is fast. The lady that answers the phone is always pleasant. What else can you ask for?

As good as it gets for a lunch spot. I had the Manhattan Special when I went. It had plenty of space to eat and the ppl there were especially nice. Great prices as well.

lots of strong reviews for the burgers, not sure if they changed something, but just ate there for the first time today... and i would not recommend this place for the burgers.. pros- service was fast and food is inexpensive cons- burger was very thin, lacked flavor, overcooked

  • Andrew B.

I go here a couple of types a week. I have had the Manhattan special (hot roast beef, mozzarella) and it's always good. I have also had breakfast here and the bacon is good. The pancakes are the silver-dollar pancakes, however. It's not expensive, given the neighborhood, and is a great place if you don't know what you want for lunch. You will find something on the menu you will definitely enjoy.

  • Yeni H.

this place wasn't as good as the review here says.. i thought they tasted just average, just like any other deli. upside was it wasn't that crowded despite lunch hour, probably because most people took it out.

  • Aaron K.

amazing and delicious sandwiches, i got a huge Pastrami sandwich for super cheap! there is always a line at this place but the food is worth it, i was in NYC for 2 weeks and ate here in the morning at least 5 times. great food for a good price and awesome people.

  • Ashley P.

I do not know why any one would ever rate this deli less than 5 stars. They have everything you could ever imagine, and the service is out of this world. In an area where you cannot find lunch for less than $20 (less the street meat), this place rocks every other restaurant around with affordable prices, endless options, and overall great food!

    (5)
  • Grace A.

Glorified coffee cart but not as cheap and without that one guy who brightens your morning by having your coffee ready for you by the time you've walked up the block. So basically a worse coffee cart. If you order an egg and cheese sandwich on a roll you will LITERALLY get a fried egg and a slice of unmelted American cheese on a roll. This has been true every single time I've been there, and yet every time I find myself shocked (probably more of a me issue then a Champs issue at this point though). Iced coffee is decent.

    (2)
  • Jess S.

These 5 baby carrots are ridiculous. LOL. It seems like the sandwiches across the street are more savory, and an overall better deal for the $. Had Champ's grilled chicken avocado with spicy mayo on grain bread, but the chicken was dry and kind of annoying to eat. In an ambitious attempt at health, I opted for baby carrots instead of a free bag of chips (mini Wise original)..... and what she handed me made me giggle. It's worth "free" though, I guess.

  • Kevin M.

Popped in here for lunch one day to try something new in the area. Place is packed at lunch time like most places, but things seem to move relatively fast. Had a chicken sandwich with honey mustard. It was mehh... Chicken didn't seem to be the greatest quality and overall the sandwich just wasn't that good. Most deli's in the city aren't that good, so it's rare to find one that's above 3 stars. This one is a perfect example of a basic deli that's there for convenience and not food quality. However, there are many food options there, making it ideal for someone looking for a quick meal. I'll probably pass on lunch going forward.

I use to order Champs and have been pretty impressed with their food so I suggested doing a catering order with them to my company . BIG MISTAKE ! I had a budget through a vendor we use and went on seamless to place the catering order . Needed to feed 20 people so I ordered 4 foot longs- 2 American, one chicken, and one veggie . Order was confirmed and all was set . Hours later they kept calling my cellphone but I was at work . I called them back from my work number after listening to their voicemail and they told me they could not do 3 different kinds of sandwiches . I asked why was that an option on seamless then ? Why are they changing it now ? A guy named Tom quoted me prices above our budget and above the seamless price . I told him 3 times that I could not go above budget and then he quoted me an option that only fed 15 people . I kept telling him that I would have to go someplace else and he said I would never find another place this late in the day . I explained I was at work and that I order through seamless because it's easy and I'm busy at work. It was absolutely ridiculous . He then cancelled my order and 2 minutes later I ordered with another company through seamless . So simple . I think they didn't want seamless to try and take a cut out of a large order but it wasn't up for negotiation. We get catered lunches every week and they will be losing out on our business . They could have done the right thing and honored what we ordered on Seamless and all would have been good .

Not a bad deli to eat. Always fast service and consistent food quality. However it is a bit overpriced for what it is but in reality you are in Manhattan so it is to be expected.

We came in randomly on Tuesday around 4 and tried to order chicken noodle soup. The nice lady said they are out so I got the vegetable beef barley- yum! Nice and hot and not overly salty like most soups. My dining partner got the prosciutto panini which was a little gross to me. I was not a fan of the brown tapenade which may have been olives but it looked like old nasty pesto. Would have been 2 stars but the people were nice to welcome us in right at closing and not rush us at all! Great service at this classic deli.

Went in for breakfast today and got a sausage, egg & cheese on a roll and tater tots. These tater tot might be the best I have ever had. $3.75 for a giant bowl of tater tots that were crispy and well seasoned. The breakfast sandwich was made fresh and was yummy. Theirr lunch and dinner menus are expansive and I have never had a bad sandwich here.

Dam my regular coffee spot closed. Silverstien purchased the whole block of property on Trinity Place below WTC gonna be the new condo conversion coming up. All I want is my Latte...wtf!! In a rush being late of course and no coffee, I saw Champs and ran over. Oh no wheres the expresso machine?? There is none, so I just tried the hot chocolate to calm my nerves. Looking thru the counter showcase I saw a Cinnamon Bun with a nice creamy topping. Wow it had a croissant texture and was so yummy. The plus is this place was cheaper than my favorite spot, but they should get a expresso machine!

Was in the area trying to grab a sandwich to go before I hopped on the ferry. Stopped at Champs and ordered a #29. I'm more a veggie person and guess I just assumed the sandwich would have lettuce or tomato on it. It was just a bunch of meat and cheese basically. Plus, I prefer my deli meat to be super thinly sliced - this was not. Headed to the ferry and passed by a place called Flavors that smelled and looked much better. Wish I would have stopped there.

Ordered a cheeseburger deluxe meal for delivery online. Ordered at 11:30AM, food got to me by 12:21pm. Perfect timing. Delivery guy was pleasant, food was warm, but then again there has been blizzard weather lately, like close to teens. Burger was great, definitely will order again if they keep this service up. About $10-13 for a decent meal, can't beat that!

This Champ's Gourmet Deli is located at the Rector st station off Broadway in the financial district. If your looking for a toasted bagel with cream cheese, a croissant with jelly, milk, then this is your stop. The service is friendly and fast. Restaurant is clean. Decent deli/ coffee shop experience. Next! They do charge for hot water and ice which is strange. Still this was my morning stop for breakfast while staying at the Ritz Carlton. They also have a decent veggie burger, fries and tater tots if your looking for a bite to eat later in the day. 4 stars

To order a salad can get romaine at small or large, and then it comes with options at $.50 for stuff like carrots, peppers, tomatoes, beans etc. Along with chicken, mine added up to $7.50, which apparently isn't bad compared the other options in the area. It would be nice if it came with a pita bread or something, but I just got a baggie of 4 baby carrots (why only 4?). Decent salad at least.

this morning I waited over 10 minutes for 2 eggs, home fries and toast. I left before being served and walked down the block to Flavors, where the time from my walking through the door, through ordering and into check-out was about 4 minutes. C'mon now...

  • Becky B.

Had breakfast here before heading out to Battery Park. The whole wheat french toast was good, the vanilla iced coffee wasn't so good. Less expensive than some of the other options in the area. The only major complaint I have was that it was confusing to find the actual place when you enter from Broadway (which is where I found the sign).

  • Johnson B.

It's a decent deli. Nothing special really. For a deli it's pretty good. It's no gourmet place. They have a lot of space inside and have a lot of items for sale. And they are quick and not rude. I have been here a few times.

A solid breakfast and lunch option in the financial district. I really like a lot of their breakfast options. They have lots of different breakfast sandwiches with many different kinds of meats (sausage, bacon, ham, turkey, pork roll, beef sausage, etc.) and they also have some great muffin varieties (chocolate cream cheese, cinnamon coffee cake, chocolate fudge)! My favorite, though, has got to be the tater tots. They're so delicious! Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and not overly greasy. Whenever I order or pick up breakfast from Champs, I be sure to get a tray of the tater tots to share with my coworkers. They always get devoured and everyone's grateful! We have to be careful how often we order them, though, gotta eat a little bit healthy! My only complaint is that they're pretty busy on weekday mornings. Because of this, when I'm busy too and I need to order delivery instead of takeout it often takes a pretty long time even though they're super close to my office. Other than that, though, it's a pretty great place!

Order lunch from champs today via seamless. They ran out of everything bagels so they called me and asked if I would like another kind of bagel instead. I really appreciate gestures like that. I got chicken noodle soup to go with my bagel too. It was okay, the noodles were pretty mushy. If they remembered to toast my bagel I would have given them 4 stars. Great service!

  • Larry G.

Standard deli fare, but what puts this place over the top is they will make egg sandwiches for lunch. I can't find another place in the area that is ok with firing up the griddle around lunch-time, something about the electric bill and being a huge vagina is what I typically hear. Go for it!

  • Haidy D.

I've been to champs for breakfast and lunch. Both were quite good but I've had better. It is right around the corner from my job that is why I find myself ordering from them more often then not. The prices are okay.

A colleague of mine and I went for lunch today. He had the one of many hot Roast Beef sandwiches and I got the #2 Grilled Chicken with Pesto. He said his was good, but he thought it was with fresh mozzarella not deli type. Mine on the other hand was very good. They did not have ciabatta bread left so I had it on hoagie roll ( sub). The only down side was that there was a sign that says all sandwiches more than $6 get a free bad of chip or coleslaw..and of course you have to ask for it, and today they ran out of chips. i think we will definitely be going back for lunch.

Salad was fresh and a generous portion. Delivery was extremely slow. I am giving them three stars because, given the size of the salad I should've gotten more than one container of dressing. In addition the $4 soup I ordered tasted like it was straight out of a can...

After this incident I called back to make another order. The person who took my order remembered my name/voice and ended up calling me back to apologize for her error. The tea bag was in fact 75 cents like I said. So we're all good! Nothing to see here lol :)

This place is great! Clean, quick, friendly & reasonable. I live in the building and I eat breakfast here often. The staff knows what my "usual" is, which is good, because at 6AM, I have trouble thinking. Check it out. :-)

Great place for breakfast and lunch. I go every morning for breakfast. The food is always fresh, delicious and ready to go. I can always get to work on time when I stop here on my way in. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They also have really good sandwiches, salads and soups for lunch. I highly recommend this place.

They have Italian ice. Need I say more? I haven't really had anything else here but they do have a create your own salad section that's cheaper than Chop't or Just Salad. It was also less crowded. I kept a menu for future reference in case I feel the urge to spend money at lunchtime.

Average deli with a good array of sandwiches. Can't complain about the portions or quality.

I was in the area visiting the 9/11 memorial, was in search for a decent lunch spot and yelped this place. It's a small deli with a salad bar, burger bar and deli section -- everything you needed for a simple (and decently priced) lunch. Organization at the restaurant can be a little hectic during peak lunch time, but it's big enough to accommodate hungry customers. There's a decent amount of seating and selection of food. I only got the Manhattan special and that was greaaaat. I don't usually order roast beef, but their roast beef was almost pastrami-like (shredded fairly thin and very tender) -- it didn't taste like normal deli meat at all. It was a simple sandwich that really hit the spot. Definitely worth giving this place a shot if you're a hungry tourist looking for decently priced food in the area, or if you're a local looking for some gruuuuub.

These guys are AAAHH-MMAAAAZZING!!! I love them! I come here at least twice a week for my 2 egg + 4 white and vege omelette. They are always so super nice, friendly and efficient and just when you think they can't get any more awesome, they are downright friggin' CHEAP too. I swear I've been here a million times and never a bad experience and always a yummy omelette or salad - very generous portions of chicken when I order salad. If I could, I would clone them. Then all the diners of the world would be perfect. Yup. Seriously.

Champs is a solid go-to breakfast and lunch spot if you work downtown. I can always count on a really delicious, made to order wrap or sandwich, and the people behind the counter are all very quick and nice. I like the consistency, I know what to expect here. My favorites are the buffalo chicken wrap, peppermill turkey wrap, or breakfast burrito. The only thing is it gets really crowded during lunch so I'd definitely recommend taking your order to go.

That's true, I forgot about this place. I have been here literally 10 years ago for many years. Now that I am revisiting some of the downtown district memories. Meanwhile, the food is decent in that they create what is the typical deli food. They do things super fast (gotta cater to those Wall St folks!) so your order is typically done in a quick manner. The outcome of the breakfast sandwiches or lunch platters are generally consistent.

Obsessed. $3.50 bacon & lettuce on an onion roll. Almost every morning (I must stop!) Lots of non-fatty bacon and fresh lettuce and roll.

The just ordered breakfast from champ's. The cappacino has no flavor, no milk no sugar. Corn muffins tastes artifical . (west bank gourmet has the best corn muffins) . the french toast w/ bacon wa 4.25 only two slices of french toast. very minimal. and a side order of potato tots. lots of them, but squishy , which means the steam dissolved the crisp taste. Un-satisfied

Champs was one of my occasional lunch haunts when I worked in the FiDi. The food isn't too expensive but it's also not that great. It's always dirty there. I will give it two stars, though, since I've always been convinced the Russian guy behind the hot food counter practically looks like he could be my brother and he works pretty hard.

Quick service, friendly staff and delicious food. I got #28 - grilled chicken, avocado, arugula and roasted red peppers on wheat & creamy broccoli soup. The soup was good, but the sandwich was better. Fresh and delicious. Kind of big, so I wrapped up half to enjoy later.

Average place, average price for sausage egg cheese on a roll.. This sandwich tastes the same in every place you ever get it... unless they use real sausage or cook the eggs different then scrambled which they do not.. but i'm sure you can ask for it.

This is a great place to just drop by and pick up some cheap breakfast. It's nothing fancy and mind-blowing, but it's nice and warm food. and for dirt cheap!! I got an egg, ham, and cheese sandwich and it was only $3.75. and it was goood! and also the customer service is amazing. Everyone's so nice even when it's 6 in the morning and the sun aint shinin for nobody.

Meh. I can see why guys like the lunch sandwiches here. They load up on the meat like crazy. But I like my turkey sandwich having a 1:1 ratio of meat to lettuce+tomato+avocado, not a 3:1 ratio. Ladies' talk, I know, I know. However, I've been here for a breakfast egg and cheese sandwich on whole wheat bread and it's pretty solid. Oh, and I'd like to suggest that they undergo some renovations to the place because I think better lighting and restored seating arrangements could boost business. Just look at Lenny's!

They have Italian Ice! That's all I had, and it was good!

Pros: - I had the Manhattan. How they keep the sandwich hot/warm through every bite is beyond me and thats what makes it great. Roast beef and cheese were perfect. Spacious seating made it comfortable. Cons: - Cant think of any Need a quick bite while in the financial district? Come here. Its worth it.

Unlike its name, Champs Gourmet Deli is not so much of a champ. 100% real fruit smoothies? I don't think so. I saw them pouring some kind of syrup into the blender. I usually get smoothie for lunch/breakfast when I feel like eating healthy, so please don't add more sugar or artificial flavors into it. I might as well get a brownie + ice cream! I bet they have the same amount of calories. The berry smoothie is almost too sweet and doesn't taste fresh. For more than $4, I expect better. Their omelet is nice, not so greasy and it comes with toasts. Tip: If you want affordable 100% REAL fruit smoothie, go to this smoothie stand in front of 140 Broadway. They sell amazing and refreshing smoothies for only $3! And you can add bubble (tapioca pearls) for $.50 more. Mmmm I'm getting some tomorrow!

I LOVE this place. I work down the street and come here AT LEAST once a week. It has THE best roast beef sandwich in the area (the Manhattan Special; roast beef, fresh mozzarella on garlic bread!). Sandwiches are made to order, and everything just delicious. You get free chips, baby carrots or coleslaw with any meal over $6. It's not the biggest place but there IS room to dine in if you want. Staff is friendly and super fast.

I go here for breakfast/brunch every other week. My experience overall has been positive! I grade them as follows: 4.5/5 Points for their tasty food (I usually get my fix with an egg on a role with ham and cheese) 4/5 Points for insulation - it could be hot or cold depending on where you sit - don't sit by the door in winter as it gets cold there! 3.5/5 Points for their coffee - very important to me 2/5 Points for not being open on weekends when I crave most! 5/5 Points for location 5/5 Points for professional and friendly staff Overall that adds up to 23/30 ~ 4/5

The Manhattan Special! I found this place 2 weeks ago and I've had the Manhattan Special 3 times. Grilled roast beef, fresh mozzarella, on toasted garlic bread! I made the mistake the first time of ordering the large potato nuggets [tata-tots]. For 5 bucks you can feed a family of 4 with just those. I'll be back there today - lets see- feels like a Smoked Turkey with English Cheddar day.
