Prymania is when you're intent on finding out every detail of your friends' lives. Bimania is when you're attracted only to people who swing both ways. PSImania is when the whole country gets obsessed with the inflation level of NFL Footballs. Sounds unrealistic, right? I was not expecting this at all. This food court is dead most of the time. Almost nobody is in this mall and almost nobody is eating here. I don't know how the food places are making enough money to survive and it makes me sad, because most of them are great little family businesses that make a real effort. The Boulevard Mall food court was destroyed, and this one might go the same way soon. It's great, then, that I randomly found this little place in time to try it before it - I would assume - inevitably disappears. I have to qualify this review with the caveat that I didn't love the food here. But I think you should try it anyway because it's nothing like anything else in Buffalo and you may love it, and the owners are wonderful. The owners look Asian, but the products are a combination of European and Brazilian, and I think they might be from Brazil because of their accents. You'll have to figure it out yourself. I had the Beef Stroganoff ($8.50) which came with some mini stick-chips that were good, and a lot of delicious pasta noodles. It was wet and rich and very interesting. The flavour was a little sweet and a little "wine"-y but in that sense it was very much like other Stroganoffs I've had. The meat was juicy and tasty and well-prepared. Beef tips, I think. I'd recommend this dish to anyone to try, although if I come back I'll probably try something else. They have a bunch of pies, which I think are Brazilian in style, and have all sorts of eclectic fillings, including cheap dessert pies. I may try one next time. They don't look like any sort of pie I've ever had. I also bought a "brigadeiro" which is a Brazilian chocolate. It cost $1.35 and was tiny, and looks absolutely delicious. I didn't think it was amazing, but my travel companion loved it - and she doesn't even like chocolate. Again, something that I think everyone should try even though it didn't blow me away, just because it's so different and unique and you'd never expect to find any of this stuff in a mall in Buffalo. And I might add that the owners were so happy that I was buying their food, they were so friendly, and they looked so bored and forlorn before I got there... it was worrying and depressing. So I'm hoping that a few people will read my review and go and try this strange and unusual Brazilian-influenced food, very wallet-friendly, filling, enjoyable, unique, and different. If it sold wood, it'd be Plymania, if it sold copies of Titanic and The Notebook, it'd be Crymania, and if it sold tea, it'd be Chaimania. But it doesn't. It sells Stroganoff. Which is funny because when I went into the bathroom, the Mall Cop was in there, stroganoff. Oh wait.

When this place opened, I was so excited about trying it out and then I did and I was extremely disappointed! I'm not sure what food everyone else is raving about in their reviews but I brought the Buffalo Chicken Pie with a salad and while I enjoyed the salad's field greens, I wished I had ordered just the salad because the Buffalo Chicken Pie was gross. It was salty and dry inside, utterly disgusting, I don't even have the words to explain it. The guy serving me, I assume is the owner, and he was really sweet. We chatted for a moment since no one was line and I told him this is the first time I was trying them out and even told him how excited I was to see something different in the mall but when I started eating that pie, ewww, gag me with a spoon. I didn't even finish it. If it was a stale pie, I don't know and he should have known better, that's all I can say. And here I thought I had found my new lunch spot. The pie was so bad I don't even want to try anything else on the menu. Sorry. Let me just add that frequent this mall regularly for lunch, I've tried all the food spots and I walk here almost every day in the winter months because it's close to my job and I never see a line of people waiting for food from this spot. During lunchtime there's a line at every location except Piemania. That's gotta mean something, I'm just saying.

A friend of mine and I went here for lunch yesterday. Going only by the reviews on Yelp and my slight apprehension towrads a place that specializes in pot pies, we were open-minded but unsure. Now, don't be misled by the headlines thinking they're traditional pot pies - they're not. They're more filled square pastries. But rest assured they are delicious. For $10, I got a small salad, buffalo chicken pie that's about 6x6, a round banana cream pie about 4" in diameter with real bananas and cinnamon, and a medium sized fountain drink. All the food was amazing! The gentlemen behind the counter was very nice and thorough with his preparation, not like you see in other food court places where everything is slapped in a box and dumped in front of you. For what seemed like a roll of the dice turned out to be a great find and I can't wait to go back!
