Didn't want our hotel breakfast so we opted for Colonial Diner instead. Breakfast was hot and prepared just as I ordered. Came back second day waitress already remembered our drink selections from day before. Nice people hardworking and priced right. Don't expect fancy but in my opinion a good breakfast.

My family and I went to the diner on a recent trip to Howe Caverns. The hostess was friendly and sat us immediately. And then we sat there, menus in hand and no waitress. The two older waitresses chatted with "regulars." Eventually the younger brunette waitress came by and tool our order. The food was nothing to write home about, but fine. The elderly waitresses, that's another story. If they are only interested in fraternizing with the locals, kindly post a note on the door. We got the message- outsiders not welcome! We ate the rest of our meals at the Howe Caverns Cafe. They couldn't have been nicer and the food was great.

Can there be a zero star review? This place would get it. Food was HORRIBLE. Prepared with NO care to taste or presentation, slapped on plates half-cooked and nasty. French fries were pretty much raw in the middle. Burger was unseasoned patty cooked on a flat top so it was soaked in grease. Drinks were fine. They got the order right, which isn't a big plus when the food is this poor. Run-down surrounding like something out of a 70's movie complete with painted drop ceiling. Quite pricey too. About $50 for five (two children, three adults).
