Came here right before church on Sunday as it is the only bagel shop in the area (besides DD). Ordered an everything wheat bagel with low-fat scallion cream cheese. Nothing out of the ordinary, but the bagel wasn't bad nor was it mind-blowing. The employee taking my order was very kind and so sweet! As I was waiting for my order, I overheard and witnessed a customer rudely complaining about an order (which was totally her fault) to one of the employees, which he handled very well and respectively. Kudos to him because if I were him, I would have handed it to her! I knocked off one star due to the slow service. The line was long and it took about 10 minutes for me to get my order taken. Even with an abundance of employees, they took some time to take orders. Prices are fair and they do accept credit/debit card! One last thing, I didn't see a selection of potato chips, which is odd for a bagel shop. I guess it's one step to a healthier America! MURICAAAAA

Love the bagels, but could the service be any slower. They seem to have a bunch of employees but the line moves at s snails pace and there always seems to be a line.

not such a large selection of anything besides bagels. No chips and no bars or candy which is weird for a bagel store not to have. The cut pineapple was fresh. That was all i got since there were no gluten free bagels or anything else that i could have possibly had. No my top bagel store but people in the roslyn area seem to love it. definitely won't be back and will be sticking to bagel hut in great neck.

This is my husband's family's go to place for bagels in their local town. The bagels are good NY bagels. I'm not a whitefish/ smoke fish/ lox/ tuna salad kinda gal, but they love theirs from here. I have had the cream cheese, and it's good. I have had the egg salad, and it's decent. I have had the macaroni salad (when I ordered potato salad, but getting the attention of someone to correct that seemed more complicated than it was worth), and it was horrible -- tangy and the pasta wasn't cooked enough. I found the staff terribly unfriendly and not just in a NY deli style manner -- like in a completely disinterested in serving anyone way. Its got a cute atmosphere and parking is nicely off street. It's better than getting a bagel at Dunks -- though Gary M.'s comment about the roach really just grossed me out pretty royally!

They stopped accepting credit cards so I stopped coming. Cash only now. I used to come here a lot but everytime I came they would charge me a different price for the same order (bagel, cream cheese). Good decor. Lots of parking. Staff is pretty quick and nice, but I saw the manager treating his employees like trash which was a turn-off. Vegetable cream cheese is very sour for some reason - tried it twice and it made my tongue curl.

This place has a large selection of baked goods. Inherent in the name, their bagels are good and baked fresh. I like to get a bagel with their tuna salad here and they do a good job. I've brought friends here and they love their bagels. I bought their chocolate babka once but was not very impressed. The prices are fairly reasonable for Roslyn standards. There's plenty of seating and this place is a local establishment. I would recommend this place if you want a taste of Long Island bagels.

Delicious Bagels and Cream cheese. A lot of variety. Staff is very friendly. Do not order omelette; if you want an omelette a diner style then go to Diner. Omelette on Bagel Boss menu was like "we also have omelettes if you want" Just say to yourself "no Thank you - Only Bagels !!!"
(3)Jay K.
STALE BAGELS never should have been sold and now I have a dozen of them to feed to the birds

I have mixed feelings about this place. the bagels are okay, nothing great but not sucky. the customer service is somewhat lacking and there is generally a disorganized, chaotic atmosphere unless you go at an off hour. but I really love the bean salad and israeli salad. I solved the problem of bad service by having my wife go instead of me, lol.

New York and their bagels! So, I heard. I'm from Cali, and we're not huge on bagels except when employer provides them for free one random morning and everyone herds over to grab one. On my NY trip, my aunt said she would treat us to breakfast near her house in Long Island. I was thinking, sweet!?? My first New York bagel!!! Let's just say, I wasn't disappointed. Hubby ordered the bagel with cream cheese and lox (smoked salmon). The bagel was fresh and chewy, the cream cheese was fluffy and the smoked salmon was delish! Not fishy or tough at all!! I ordered their random Bagel Breakfast Burrito. It had huge chunks of potato, eggs and veggies. It was darn filling, so I saved the other half to-go. *They also have fresh squeezed OJ, which I would recommend. My sister ordered their blueberry bagel with plain cream cheese. I would also recommend the blueberry! It was really moist and divine! (I wonder if San Diego has any places that sells good bagels with cream cheese and lox?? The mission is on!)

The service here is horrendous! This is the third time I've had an order to go and it has been screwed up! They were so rude about it as well!!!!

I just came back from bb- ordered lox with bagel, a 3 egg farmers omelette, and a couple of bagels. The total price was $27.65. The lox and bagel did not come with cucumbers, tomato, and onions as requested and for $11 - they skimped on the lox!! I was so annoyed when I got back to eat and saw that there were literally 2 slices of lox, a heap of cream cheese, and nothing else... The bagels were fine. Nothing to write home about. The farmers omelette was...disgusting. it's advertised as having mushrooms, tomatoes, broccoli, and onions...but it came with nasty sausage and bacon!!! Maybe if the sausage and bacon were tasty I wouldn't be so incensed but they smelled and look inedible. Normally I understand that people can mess up with orders, especially when a shop is backed up. But this mess? There were 3 people on line and the man who took of me clearly did not give a crap. I highly advise that you stay away from this ridiculously overpriced and nasty spot. Don't say I didn't warn you!

Absolutely the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I was made to wait at the counter for 15 minutes while customers who arrived after me were served and left. If you do not fit the "character of the neighborhood" you are treated like a third class citizen. I waited and waited and when finally there were no other customers I was asked for my order and while giving it a regular walked in and the counter man stopped taking my order and served the regular. I was enraged. I left the store and called on the phone and asked for a manager where I was dismissed. He didn't even ask for my contact info so I could call me back after he looked into the situation. Horrible horrible service .. Please do not patronize this place.
(1)Gary M.
Way too long a line to put in an order! 20 minutes to get a bagel and coffee and then to top it off A BABY ROACH in my coffee. Manager said they have exterminated 3 times a week. They still have a problem.

It's really a damn shame that places this bad stay in business because they're kosher. I live a block away and literally pass this place every day to go to better bagel shops where I don't get the attitude. Can't wait till religion becomes obsolete and I can watch this place close down. Overpriced, mediocre food at best and a bad attitude to top it all off. Good iced coffee I that means anything.
(1)Vera L.
I love this place. ITS SO COOL. Great selection of different bagels and spreads. The staff are fast and know what the hell they are doing. Love that. In and out, quick! Relatively inexpensive selection of actual food and salads. THEY CATER! YUM!
(5)Jack G.
Great bagels and large assortment of salads , soups and wraps. Love the hazelnut coffee. Good place to chill in summer and winter.

I used to love this place. Then they sold the business and the new owners are horrible beyond words. The staff rude, obnoxious and they DO NOT listen. I go because of convenience not because I want to. They NEVER get my order right -- how difficult is putting a LITTLE butter on a bagel -- no instead I get dirty looks and seven pounds of butter on my bagel. My coffee -- light with skim one splenda, I would say once out of 20 times its right. They treat their regular customers or those spending more than $5.00 like gold and everyone else like crap. I once ordered a large UNSWEETENED ice tea with lemon one splenda, I go a large iced coffee black with lemon. It wasn't until I was on the Northern State did I take the first sip and realized what they did was wrong but couldn't turn back. Before it was sold the workers nice and polite and now all they do is give dirty looks. The owners are always yelling and their employees. My opinion its better to travel out of the way and be treated correctly then go to this place.

I'm going to have to toss my hat in the ring and say that there are better options... and worse. I wouldn't mind getting the occasionally stale bagel, but the service moves at a GLACIAL pace sometimes. Maybe the staff isn't trained well? I can't be sure, but it makes me less likely to come here. On the other hand, their bagels are usually soft, delicious, and it's conveniently located to my job.
(3)Jerry C.
Everything Bagel (toasted) cream cheese, lox... = $12.00. Does that provide you with a good summary?! I was at Key Food the other day and saw some really good T-Bone steaks for under $12!!! Yes it was good, idk about $12 good though. Maybe I'm missing something, but this isn't the 'going price' of a bagel, cream cheese and lox where I'm from. The place itself was nice, i tried not to let the ditzy, 17 year old's complaining about how bad their lives are ruin my experience.
(3)Joann A.
Love the bagels but when someone wants and pays for a buttered bagel, you need to put butter on the bagel. The last few visits have been far from impressive, very stingy with the butter

The cole slaw was bland the pickle was so sour it must have been bad and the roll hard... The bagel meh I've had better

Stopped by the Bagel Boss Cafe in search for a quick bite before a pre-lab study session. Came in to to find a cosy cafe filled with the calming sounds of retired people bickering about Obama and kids with skateboards. I searched for a couple minutes for some sort of list as to what types of bagels and/or cream cheese their offered but to no avail. It seemed like this was the kind of place that if you went here, you went here every single day. Then, only then, would you know what kind of bagels and cream cheese they offered. I tried to act like a regular and ordered an "everything" bagel with "plain" cream cheese. Surely they would have that, and they did. But then, out of nowhere, as the cashier packed my bagel into a bag along with my coffee, she added a COMPLEMENTARY BOX OF ORANGE JUICE! They knew what the perfect addition to any breakfast is, and if you don't purchase it yourself, they are just going to throw it on their themselves. I finally understood the name of the cafe as a strutted away, with my orange juice box, like a boss. A bagel-boss.

When you wake up on a Sunday morning and think about your bagel, cream cheese, nova, coffee and NY Times, look no further than Bagel Boss. this place is terrific. They have a tremendous selection of food including chopped salads and the staff is terrific. Try the whitefish salad, its the best I have ever had. Had them cater a brunch as well, it was a huge succes and my guests loved the selection of spreads and the bagels.

A lot has changed since high school: cars, home addresses, and girls. However, one of the few things that have remained the same is Bagel Boss. The atmosphere of the place always brings me back and it's much appreciated. The decor is an old-fashioned NY coffee shop with quaint tables & chairs, an iron railing to separate the dining area, and walls decorated with murals. The best thing about it, is that it has been kept up extremely well. As far back as I can remember, they offered great bagels & spreads and fresh coffee. Nothing has changed, and my most recent adventure out to the island proved this to be the case. We ordered toasted everything bagels with cream cheese and they came out perfect, just like they did waaaaay back in high school. Their coffee was also very fresh and made to perfection; mind you this was at 1030am, well after the morning rush. If you live or commute close by, you should definitely add this place to your list of morning to-do's.

Honestly, I have never felt so insulted in my life. The service here is absolutely awful and the worst bagel place on the island by far. The staff is completely oblivious and quite ignorant. They are cold and insincere. They have no concept of who is waiting in line or who is next and they are just rude. Particularly this one woman who works the front. I would not recommend this bagel place. Spare yourself. Munsey park bagels and let there be bagels in port Washington put this place to shame.
(1)Christina G.
Slowest service at a bagel place I have ever experienced. Slow as turtles, gets everything wrong. Let me paint you all a picture of what happened when I went there today. Guy behind counter doesn't look me in the eye when he asks what I want, seems fixated on every other possible thing besides my face. After he brings me my food, almost 10 minutes later for 1 thing, I ask him for coffee, and I give him my card to pay, he basically throws my card at me along with the pen to sign. Still not showing me any attention-and if you work at a deli-you better give some service with a damn smile, okay. OH AND HERE'S THE BEST PART: I HAD TO BAG IT MYSELF. I had to bag a hot foiled bagel myself along with a hot coffee that didn't have a sleeve. I will never. ever. go here again based on that one experience. Its a shame because the older man that works the front is an extremely nice guy. Maybe you should have college kids work there instead of 30 year olds that don't give a damn about working in a deli. Why would you want the job to begin with?... For all of you who are looking for the best bagel place near here, go to: MY THREE SONS BAGEL CAFE just a little further down the road, worth every cent everytime i go there, and forget this place, it sucks. This experience just put the icing on the cake.

Bad bagels and mediocre service!! I went in there with my boyfriend whose from Brooklyn trying to impress him with a Long Island bagel but was mortified with the results. We came in and were served by a young man who seemed either mentally deficient or stoned, perhaps both. While there were about 8 people working it still took about ten minutes for two bagels and an ice coffee (my boyfriend originally ordered a regular coffee but cancelled the order when he saw how long it was taking). We were already quite disgruntled when we got to the table. We began eating and our disgust only grew. As I was eating my bagel I found a little hair which obviously came from the stoner up front. My boyfriend couldn't even finish his bagel (something that I've never seen happen) because it was so difficult to bite through. My coffee tasted nothing like coffee but more like a creamy milkshake with more sugar than actual coffee. I decided to take it back which took another ten minutes. Once I taste the coffee it tasted worse than when I first got it! I don't understand how someone can make a cream and sugar mess worse! I have been disgusted beyond belief and hope that this experience does not effect my boyfriend's decision to come visit me in Long Island!

I have grown up on Long Island, where Bagel Boss has a great reputation for fresh, delicious bagels and spreads. I never had the opportunity to use them for catering until last month when we were hosting a special occasion in our home for over 70 people, on just a few days notice. From beginning to end, Bagel Boss provided exceptional food and service that went way beyond what I expected. Debra in the Roslyn location was wonderful to work with and helped us put together a great selection of foods. On the day of, Donny delivered the food on time (even early) and stayed to help us arrange the tables and set everything up to the best configuration and display. They thought of and included everything! And the food!!!! Such an assortment of fresh bagels, fish platters, delicious salads and spreads, and all of it was fresh and very tasty. All of our guests raved about the selection and the quality of the food, and we proudly told them that it was from Bagel Boss. They made the day so much easier for me, I recommend them to everyone and I would not hesitate for a second to use their catering service again.

i go through phases visiting bagel boss. deff not the best bagels they are just OK and i truly only go here when i am on a rush and want cut up fruit. their summer tuna is good. their service sucks. one guy behind the counter threw my debit card back at me once i was so taken back i hadn't even done anything wrong!! on Sundays the line is ridic i beg my boyfriend to come in and wait with me but he refuses to go im because of how rude the people are inside. its unfortunate that the one bagel place down the block from my house is EXTREMELY OVER PRICE & RUDE

Amazing Bagels! Top Bagel spot in New York!
(4)Steve H.
My family on Long Island recently used Bagel Boss to cater an occasion at her home. We could not have been more pleased. All the food was of the highest quality -- all the smoked fish, the salads, etc were very fresh and delicious. Even the disposable plates and dinnerware were of good quality. Everything looked good and tasted good. Even the coffee was excellent (and I am very picky about coffee). They were easy to work with and I would highly recommend them for authentic Jewish-style catering.
(5)Lee G.
This is my first Yelp review - The food is good, fresh, though pricey, but the ambiance is terrific. During Hurricane Sandy, Bagel Boss had WiFi, and was a comfortable place to go for a bagel, coffee and to charge a cellphone and check email. It's a great place to meet friends, get a good cup of coffee, a good bagel with whatever, and relax.
(4)Monica L.
Decent bagels, a little pricey, but they have a fabulous selection of of spreads and fish salads to put on top of your crusty, chewy bagels. Personally, I'm a fan of the flagels because the outside part is my favorite part of a bagel. Love the seating area, surrounded by a wrought-iron fence, which makes you think you're sitting outside. Nice atmosphere and a friendly staff, when they're not super busy. Give this place a shot!
(4)Dee E.
Been coming here since I was a kid. Nice people, good service. Food is good. Kind of pricey.
