I would give it no stars if I could. Maybe I should've read these reviews before going to cafe remy. The worst experience ever I would never ever go back there again. First of all we each paid a $35 dollar entrance fee to see luis vargas and the service was so appalling we left within half an hour. We rather loose the money and not see luis vargas then to stay there another second. So first we get 2 drinks that we paid $18 for, so I'm standing by a table and one of waitress the dark skin one with the big curly afro keeps bumping into to me every single time she walks by , it was ridiculous she walks by again and bumps me so hard she spills my drink right out of my hand. I was so upset but decided I rather brush it off and have a good time. So we go to the bar to buy another drink and we're standing there waiting and we notice the bartender a short woman with the long black straight hair and red lipstick charges this guy $10 dollars for whatever he ordered but only rang up $6 dollars and pocketed the other four. The guy was totally unaware of what happened and tipped her another two so she conned a six dollar tip on a six dollar drink . Finally my turn to order and we got two Amaretto shots that she charged us $24 for and then had the nerve to give us house Amaretto, when we requested Disaronno because of the price she said it was a extra four dollars. HOW DO WE PAY MORE FOR TWO SHOTS THEN THE TWO DRINKS???? That's when we had enough and left. That place is a whole in the wall with rude canniving staff!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE TRUST ME!! THE REVIEWS SPEAK FOR ITSELF!

This place could use some refinement in decor and atmostphere as I think they try to be all things to all people. There was super loud and lewd hiphop music playing at 9 pm on Saturday I think for a birthday party but it was just as we were eating dinner I just couldn't belive it. But the food itself was really good. We got all Latin stuff like the steak, tostones, bacalitos and all of them were authentic latin flavor, high quality, well cooked. The service was very accomodating as well. The restaurant floor got cleared at 10 and then they started offical dancing. They played a few great Latin songs and then the rest was hip hop almost all night which was interesting but not our scene. I like that it was a totally nixed crowd all ages, all races etc...It is a good local place if you decide you want a low key night out. All being said, i enjoyed it.

Nice music, the DJ was nice. I disliked the mandatory coat check, even though I saw a couple of patrons with their coats on! Mostly a more older crowd, mostly locals. This place has two scents, in the basement you got the scent of Mary Jane, upstairs you got the scent of female b.o. I danced with one chick and she smelled like a big Mc!!!!She infiltrated the dance floor. That was definitely a turn off. I like the bar tenders very friendly, and courteous. I had high hopes for this place, but it bombed! Sorry Remy!

This past Friday evening around 10pm I went to this place with a group of 6 other friends. I had not changed from my work clothes and was wearing nice clothing with high leather boots with a 1 1/2 inch heel. They would not let me in because "I was not wearing HIGH HEELS!!!" When I explained to the lady outside that I have plantar fasciitis and am not able to wear heels she said that they would CHARGE ME MORE TO GO IN!!! This is absolute discrimination against people with a medical problem, wearing high heels vs not is not a real reason for refusing admittance to a paying customer. I live 2 blocks away and I will never spend one more cent at this place.

I have been here a couple times for Sunday Brunch and to see local bands. The food that I usually eat here is on a Buffet but it has been consistently tasty. Sometimes they have seafood on their spread and other times they don't. When they do, I recommend the baked clams, and it makes the price seem logical. Also the Chicken Marsala is quite tasty and even in a buffet spread is not dry and delicious. When there is no seafood on the buffet it seems a tad overpriced but still good. With a band and some friends, this place can be a good time.

I was suckered into coming here for a speed dating event. Why they chose to have an event that is mostly African American, in Bayridge is BEYOND me. And probably to most of their usual patrons, as no one showed up. It is one of the most segregated neighborhoods in Brooklyn and far from everything. I would only come "maybe" for some Italian food (oh and Yelp Elite :/). On to Cafe Remy. It's wildly overpriced for being in Brooklyn and for being so far into Brooklyn. I can drink for cheaper in Brooklyn Heights, with a much more scenic view.

Drinks were good, but overpriced. I came with a friend who has been there before but not for over a year. She said "things definitely changed". Music was good, but the DJ was switching from Hip hop to bachata.....weird and it was throwing my groove off...lmao Not a very mixed crowd. 98% hispanic (mexican), 1% white and 1% black....I'm black and white and I look spanish, so I fit right in, but everyone was so short. I am already 5'7 and I had on 5 inch heels......so i was towering over EVERYONE (men & women). Not alot of people were dancing...just alot of girls grinding all over each other. not my scene.

Came here for the lounge on a Saturday night. $10 admission. Drinks are pricey for no reason cause the cups are small and full of ice mostly but the bartenders are nice. Small place with the local neighborhood crowd. Mix music, hip hop, merengue, salsa and some house music. Wanna just come hang out local, dance and not have to be so dressed up or travel far then its a cool place to go too. Not crowded neither, an older crowd too. Lots of huge bouncers around too. Hookah and bottle service available too.

Nice little night club type of place late night. $10 admission, $2 coat check. The place is kind of big. A lot of tables for table service. The drinks are a bit expensive and small. They have hookahs at $25 each. Plenty of room to dance with a live DJ. Late late night, there are dancers at the VIP tables

Went with some friends on Saturday night. We had a blast. The music was great. The DJ was really fun and was open to taking requests not like some of the pretentious DJs in the city. We saw some people eating so we decided to grab some chow. The food was fantastic. Everything we had was delicious. Very fresh and the prices reasonable. The waiter told us they have a very popular Sunday brunch that I cant wait to try out. I am not sure why there are negative reviews about Cafe Remy but our experience was really fun. My experience on Yelp is that you cant trust opinions you have to try it out for yourself.

Just bizarre. What is up with all the enormous, greasy, heavy-duty 'muscle' working outside this place as bouncers? What for? Why do they need earpiece walkie-talkies? Mauve suits? Why are limousines always pulling up to this place? Basically: a safe, highly-controlled, dark/shadowy place for suspicious-seeming, elderly gents to go to, I'm tellin' ya. On a Saturday night, you will always see very mature, doddering, old gentlemen hobbling in here on canes and walkers always accompanied by extremely hot, trampy, slutty young babes. Yeah, their 'nieces'. LOUD dance music from inside. Maybe its not so much Italian as Puerto Rican. But the place makes no sense either way. Why all the 'protection' outside--when its supposedly a place for family buffets and salsa dancing? Just seems very shady to me.

This place is so full of suck the food sucks and its overpriced the drinks are overpriced this is not a manhattan night club went on a recent friday night was jammed at the bar because nobody wants to pay for bottle service So you spend the night standing around a crowded bar wondering why no one's able to sit down at the empty tables by the dance floor

Went here last Saturday for the first time ever for the freestyle artist TKA and MAN, I FELT LIKE THE MAN OF THE YEAR!!! I GOT LOOKS FROM HERE TO THERE WHICH WAY OR WHAT MAY HAVE YOU, the women were in love. Don't know if it was just me or that maybe the guys there just weren't cutting it at all but it was fun. Now about Cafe Remy it's self. THE LOUNGE OR CLUB WAS NICE, the DECOR,was modern and clean. Nice and FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE with decent music, mainly freestyle but that was cool since I grew up listening to that in the 80s and was a fan. Prices were okay too,so I really can't say that I had a bad time there. I guess I'll find out the next time I go with my friends. I would definitely give this place a shot if you have the free time and are looking for something different from the usually rowdiness.

I have been passing by Cafe Remy for as long as I can remember, since it was on route of mine to the Bay Ridge public library. I never thought of it as a place I would go to, since I don't usually go to liuges for dinners. This past Halloween though, I was invited for a masquerade party to celebrate the heath of a dear friend, so I went. The party was in a quarter of the lounge. The bill came out to being around $37 per person, and dinner was Soup, Salad, Choice of 1 entrées (chicken parmesan, veal marsala, sole francese), Dessert, Coffee or Tea. This place is more of a lounge though, so I was slightly confused as to where did they prep the food, there probably was a kitchen in the back. Drinks also came in pitchers, the seating was all right. they cleared the middle of the room after dinner was done and over, and turned it into a dance floor.

Mmm! If you like Latin food done right, this is the place. I came in for dinner with my boyfriend last Friday night and I say, my experience was quite excellent. We shared a Chicken Empinadas which was absolutely delicious! Amazing crust! I had the Bacalaitos cooked medium and my boyfriend had the Remy Burger medium rare. Both entrees were cooked exactly to our liking. The Bacalaitos was flavorful and juicy! The owner was nice enough to come introduce himself and had us try a glass of red on the house. Definitely coming again. Thanks Remy!

The food here was awful...I got a chicken breast that I had to pick little bones out of. my boyfriend got the fried chicken, which translated to chicken nuggets without any sauce that were so dry and so blan I could barely swallow..We would have been better off going a few doors down to get Mcdonald's chicken selects..At least they would have come with some sauce. Everything served with dry plain white rice...SO bad. And when the owner asked us how it was my boyfriend surprised me by telling him it wasnt very good. He never does that. Then the owner tried to tell us it was because we didnt understand Spanish food which I found to be insulting considering I LOVE Spanish food. He said we must not be used to the taste...THERE WAS NO TASTE!! It was plain and tasteless

So I decided to drop by last night solo. Sat down at the bar had a couple of drinks while watching some NCAA game. Drinks before 11pm are $8 and after 11pm $10 its really a shame they do this in Brooklyn while spots in Manhattan have an upfront pricing system. Not to mention drinks are cheaper in areas like Time Square. Coat check was $2 I tipped the young lady as she was very friendly and would accept a picture photo from my phone of the coat check ticket just in case it gets misplaced. There's a sign stating if you do misplace the ticket you would have to wait till the end of the night to sort things out. Overall the staff and the bartenders were friendly minus maybe one exception. The atmosphere wasn't too bad the music was pretty good. The ladies here need an upgrade though. Most the women here seem to want a sugar daddy and if you don't look like you just came out of a Reggaeton music video shoot OR a tall Black African American male you will not get any play here. Advise anyone considering going to find a better venue.
