For a Thursday night it was very busy but we got lucky and had only a brief wait. Waiter was on the ball and I had some fun with some of the choices that I had never seen on a menu before, and he was a really good sport about it all which added to the fun factor. Had the Glazed Root Beer Pork Chops & a Belgian white wheat ale. Very tasty and done just right. It was a good dining experience and I will be back.

This place likes to us salt, but I am a fan. Their popcorn served to every table is a tad salty, their lobster salad is also a tad salty. And this past weekend I had a great mahi mahi special. The fish was cooked great, the sauce was good, but every few bites i got a bunch of salt. The scalap entree here is awesome. The food is very good, interesting and creative. Two minor complaints are the sound, for some reason people talking get so loud in here, its like the sound echo's, one on one converstations is challenging, if your with a group its more so, if they could fix this it would be huge. And the materdee is stationed in the middle not the front of the place. She sometimes comes to the front, but often hangs on the other side of the bar. I like to feel welcome when I walk into a place, and that means they greet me, and I do not have to find someone. So materdee, you should hang by the door.

After eating few times in LLC decided to take the family to the restaurant. Made reservation for 8:30 and we were seated at 9:15. The young lady was apologetic and very nice and as compensation said the first appetizer will be on them but when the bill came she forgot to tell the waiter and I ended up paying for it. The popcorn to start it great idea but bring your own wet naps because it's loaded with butter and I just couldn't eat it. As for the food it was great we took some apps and starters and it was all very good. Do yourself a favor and you must order the edamame it's awesome best I ever had. Only bad dish was the duck chicherones it took forever to come and it was cold with flabby skin which was not appealing. I was looking forward to some crispy duck but it was disappointing. Then came dessert and no matter how full you are you MUST order dessert it's epic. The caramel on top of the ice cream is so good. I am very happy that we have a place like this in Long Island and will go get lunch at the other location.

Turkey wings were AWESOME!! Think of your favorite buffalo wings... now blow the size of the wings by THREE. YUMMY! Absolutely generous idea coming up with the idea of making Turkey wings into buffalo style Bean dip was OKAY- pretty pricey for the quality, it did not blow me away

God knows why I attempted this place again??? But I regret it! The food is just sooooo terrible, over the top heavy & bazaar! I just don't know how they survive? Seriously get a clue!

Great brunch spot fairly priced with a delicious assortment of choices. The portions are huge and clearly the restaurant prides itself on both quality and quantity. The only criticism is the "tin" of baked goods offered to the table. It's contents does not reflect the delectability of the meal that awaits. I thought we had perhaps just gotten a bad batch, so I requested more but disappointingly, the offerings were still cold and tasteless. Otherwise, my rating would be at 5 stars for LCKNY.

Well I ate at this establishment once and highly enjoyed it. The prices were very reasonable and the food itself was great. My friend and I shared a delicious crab dip, and I had some scallops that were delicious. The food and atmosphere were enjoyable. I only have three stars tho bc of the PARKING. It's atrocious. I wanted to eat here for my birthday a few days ago and we had to go somewhere else bc there was not a single spot anywhere nearby, and I didn't want to chance my car getting towed at one of the little centers nearby. There's a teeny lot behind the actual restaurant with about 5 spots, but besides that there is very limited street parking. If you're going at a popular time, be warned. My previous time there was early evening so it was pretty empty. If they get their act together with parking, I'd definitely go there again!

Just go for the breakfast. The dinner was not the best and it was pricey but breakfast is AMAZING. Five words: Sweet Potato Coconut Hazelnut Pancakes

Food: Between very good and excellent! I had the ribeye steak, my wife had the lamb sausage with pasta dish. The steak was very good, the lamb pasta dish was great! Service; Impeccable. Not just the waiter who was fantastic (just the right amount of attentiveness without being overbearing), but the busboys, the hostess etc. EVERYONE was beyond pleasant. Negatives Noisy. A negative for me, may not be for you. Parking. Very little and hard to get to, but there is street parking available. Seating. A little bit cramped. A bit pricey. We dined there on a half off coupon, but the whole deal with tip would have been about $100 without it. 2 entrees, 2 salads, 1 glass of wine, 3 soft drinks. Please note that despite these negatives, I gave it 5 stars! If you're not sure why, go back to the first sentence of this review.

I love a creative menu. I love the place in Manhattan that this place is inspired by. Not everything is perfect about this place but it is a gem considering the alternatives around here. Parking is awful but food is interesting. Brunch is a lot of fun. Booths are too small. I hope this place gets even better with some more time.

We went to LCK based on the positive reviews here. Again (and I should've known) we fell into the "uninformed Yelpers" trap as I'm puzzled by the 4/5 star reviews. Let's first start with the positive: the place has a cool name and they are not afraid to experiment with different breakfast combinations. Their Oreo pancakes are awesome. Now, the not so positive: - the tables are crammed: there's no consideration to the major traffic area where you need about 30-36" of space. - the "no substitution" rule: according to the menu disclaimer, due to their small kitchen, they cannot substitute anything except for allergy reason. I've been to restaurants with much smaller kitchen that's more accommodating than LCK. And the way they phrases it on the menu is patronizing, arrogant if not obnoxious. Give me a break: it's breakfast how difficult can it be? - the service: one waitress "JJ" has a habit of glancing around when speaking to the guests, perhaps someone should remind her that maintaining proper eye contact is restaurant 101. I also witnessed several incidents where the bus boys cut in front of guests including an older lady who almost lost her balance. - finally the taste: LCK deserves an "A" for effort but "B-/C+" for execution. Perhaps a little culinary training could help. Everything from the presentation to using the proper serve ware were amateurish at best. Btw, their pancakes are decent. I think LCK has a lot of potential, but this place isn't the "it" place by a long shot.

One of my favorites place to dine in Merrick. Great beers and great eats! It's a great place to hangout with a brunch of friends but it can also be a great family orientated place. I had the black bean dip and it was amazing! It wasn't serve with traditional chips; it was served with chips that had a fried wonton texture. Delicious! Also had the steak sandwich and the meat was cooked perfectly. Best of all, the portions are generous. For a big foodie, highly recommended!

Stopped by here on Saturday night after concert at Jones Beach after reading the positive reviews. I for one would like to add my positive review of this restaurant. Food is very innovative & creative, tastefully crafted by chef. Nice decor & staff is knowledgeable & professional even as the hour of night we were there (close to 11), surely they must have been tired & the last people they wanted to see was my party. Waiter carried himself nicely & bartender handled drinks well. Nice to see a bartender be able to make a simple Margharita without a mix or adding some dumbass ingredient. All in all, if I'm in the area this is the place I will go to & you should too. Refreshing from standard pizza, pasta, Chinese & chain restaurants you find on Merrick Rd & all over LI. Bravo!

I went on a living social deal and had the lobster roll with old bay fries and my friend had the lobster cobb salad. Everything was great. Lobster roll was big and flavorful without overpowering the lobster's natural taste. I don't know how else to put it but it was just one of those casual dining experiences that was seamless. Everything we asked for they happened to have, waitress was great (we got into a nice convo with her about the argentina game), food was great, service was timely. It was a nice place with an open kitchen that would be good for a variety of things like dates, casual dining with friends, drinks, etc. I really have no complaints or anything bad to say about this place.

  • Phil S.

I have to start by saying this place has awful service at the bar. I've been here several times and every time I've found it close to impossible to order a drink. Only reason I went more than once was because other people I was hanging out with wanted to go there. Last time I was there my friends and I joked as they watched how long it took me to get the bartender's attention, while I was standing there with my money in hand at a bar that wasn't exactly packed. This exact scenario happened to me the previous time I was here also. Their bartenders will actually continue to cut up a lemon instead of serving you when they see you standing there trying to order. The food in this place is not bad, but it's not worth dealing with the huge crowds and the terrible service at the bar.

  • Wendy S.

We have been here several times & the service gets worse & worse. We sat at the bar for Sun brunch. It took more than 20 min to get a drink & that was only after I flagged him down. Bartender couldn't take the food order. Wait person has to & you are put in a cue with all the other tables. After another 15 min we finally got our order taken. Bar tender never asked if we needed another drink even though he gave us settings & saw the glass was empty. Out of no where we were handed the check we didn't ask for We weren't finished eating yet. No question of would you like another drink or desert. Someone at the bar was holding a stool for more than a 1/2 hour. & no one said anything. Really! The bar was packed & the person holding the seat was finished eating. This is the only brunch place in the neighborhood which lets me believe it is the only reason why you are still open. One Sun Sal & Bryan were handling hosting & service & it was the only time things ran well. They were pleasant & professional. Left Coast GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER

Left coast has an awesome brunch. My friends and I knew they get busy during Sunday brunch so we arrived early- about 10 am- and we were able to sit immediately. The portions were huge & tasty! My Favorite was the banana pancakes. My husband ordered the omelet and everything was amazing!

  • Jaime B.

I had read their breakfast menu and was eagerly awaiting the weekend with bated breath. Their pancake menu is phenom. I love all the different choices, they did not disappoint. The coffee was very good and my order of pumpkin pancakes were the best I ever had, soft, warm and delicious. The pancakes were so hot too. Uh getting hungry typing this. My husband had the six egg omelette. I tried it and it was how every omelette should be. They won't substitute they oil out of their egg dishes and that's for good reason, they don't want to F up a good thing. Prices are fair and you can tell they care about the food. The booths however were uncomfortable, the parking sucks and there were too many screaming kids in the restaurant. Will definitely return.

Horrible service. The staff doesn't understand the meaning of customer service. The wait staff is completely inattentive. The food nothing to write home about and just plain greasy. And if you are looking for an intimate place this is definitely not the place for you. It's quite loud.

Visiting friends and ordered food for pick up. All I can say is "wow!" I'm very picky when it comes to food. The LCK Burger is the best burger I've ever had. Seriously. The Surf & Turf Mac & Cheese was out of this world. Turkey Buffalo Wings, come on! Some one else ordered the Shrimp Parm -- absolutely delicious. Highly recommended. Eat here. You won't be disappointed. Yum!

OWNERS PLEASE READ! My boyfriend and I really love it here. The food is good, the service is SO friendly. We had noticed something was really off with the tuna tower appetizer a few months ago, we dismissed it and moved on. We returned last night and ordered the mahi-mahi taco appetizer, and again noticed a really weird fishy taste. After inspecting it, being a huge fan of mahi-mahi and knowing that it pretty much never has that taste (it taste A LOT like chicken)....I discovered it is the guacamole they use!! It is the packaged kind which has an awful flavor that DESTROYS the taste of everything else in the dish. I scraped it off and the taco was a million times better. Now back tracking, that is what was off on the tuna tower also. SO I BEG FOR REAL AVOCADOS AND HOMEMADE GUACAMOLE!!! All of this aside, our entrees were fantastic and the cinnabun dessert was to die for.

Went here with a Groupon for Saturday brunch. Scrambled eggs with cream cheese were fluffy and delicious. Poached eggs were perfectly cooked and delicious. Bloody Marys actually contained substantial alcohol, unlike the watered down ones you get at most places. Can't wait to go back for dinner. The dinner menu looks very inviting

There are very few times when I'm blown away by food and this is one of them. I've eaten at left coast for brunch and dinner and both menu's are phenomenal. The chef is amazing. The food is hits the spot and has amazing taste. The service is great and they do not look to push you out once you've finished with your meal. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because if you've been there on a busy night you do have a wait in front of you.

Upon entering on a Sunday morning they were pretty busy. We waited about 10 minutes before the hostess even appeared. We gave her our names (about a 20 min wait for a table for 2, not bad) but thought maybe if we sat at the bar we would get faster service. After 10 minutes of trying to get the bartenders attention, we grabbed the hostess and told her we would take a table instead. When we got to the table it was pretty cramped, they really pack 'em in the back. After a few minutes we were given a bucket of 2 mini scones and muffin, but no drink order, not even water. Eventually the drink girl came over, who is different from the waitress who takes your food order. I ordered sweet potato, coconut flakes and hazelnut pancakes and my husband had the biscuits and gravy. When the food arrived it was really good. It just seems like they have very unexperienced people working here. If you can put up with that, then give this place a shot.

Yes the seating is a little tight but the menu and food quality make up for it. I LOVE the diverse menu. The Root Beer glazed pork chop is AMAZING best Ive ever had. The scallops are cooked and seasoned perfectly. The beer menu is HUGE and not your average bud, bud light. If you want a plain meal go to Applebees if you want a memorable DELICIOUS dinner go here. And dont forget to hit Restaurant.com for your coupon savings!

Man oh man! From the bacon popcorn (free) to the Not so short Ribs (dino bone!) Pacific wedge salad (wedge of iceberg, avocado bacon & blue cheese) the French onion chowder soup (a 2 layer deal with loaded potato chowder topped by french onion soup- yep with melty cheese topping) and the LCK burger (bacony, cheesy, oniony, beefy goodness) OMG! You got to go! BUT beware parking is a challenge and definitely make a reservation. It bears repeating- Bacon Popcorn baby! Note to management- *the AmazonLocal deal put this place on my radar- Thanks for making it available. **Our waiter(B) should really have aired himself out after that smoke break- just saying a couple of cleansing breathes & a hand wash go a long way.

My girlfriend and I have eaten here several times over the past couple months. The menu options are very unique and you are not likely to find the selection anywhere else. It's not a quiet relaxed atmosphere, but that's why we enjoy LCK. We go to have a couple draft beers and eat delicious food. If you've never been, it's a must try.

Came here the other night on a first date. Arrived before my date and the bartender was really nice. Asked me if I was meeting anyone and I told him I had reservations. He said he would seat us as soon as my date arrived. A minute later my date arrived and less than 5 minutes later we were seated. Not even 5 minutes after that we had complimentary drinks sent to our table. The place is cozy bar/restaurant that serves American food, but not just your average hamburgers and fries. It's homestyle comfort food with a special flair. Apparently my date knew the bartender (childhood friends), regardless a nice gesture. The drink was delish. It was similar to a bellini with a mango puree on the bottom. Mixologist status. On the to the food. Being as my date frequented the restaurant I asked what he recommended. He suggested the lobster gnocchi which he had recently had. Sounded delish, but a little too heavy for me at the time we were eating. We ended up splitting the soft shell crab tostada as a starter. It was amazing. For our entrees, he went with the salmon which was topped with lobster and was delicious and I went with the mahi mahi tacos which were also delicious. We also had beer with our meals and I had one of the drinks on their drink menu which consisted of my favorite Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey. It was really good as well. Our waitress was very patient and attentive. All in all, the food and service was great and the date went well too!

Food & service were outstanding! We had a great time here. Wait without a reservation was only about 10-15 minutes, and we had a drink at the bar while we waited so no big deal. The food was a creative offering (mussels Benedict FTW) and everything was excellent. Scallops were not over-cooked or sandy but had perfect springy tenderness and sweetness in the preparation; short ribs that definitely weren't short and fell off the bone (fabulous!); Chilean sea bass with pesto was also perfect. So much food it was tough to finish (we didn't) but a birthday celebration demands dessert, so we tried the fried cheesecake (from Junior's!) and the (O.M.G.) brownie sundae, shared among friends. Server Sal and sous chef Arielle joined us at times through the evening and were extremely helpful, nice and fun. Highly recommend this place. It's small-ish so good idea to make a reservation if you think of it. The valet parking is super helpful for this location. We'll definitely be back! Thanks for a great evening, Left Coast!

Went to dinner tonight and our experience was horrible. I had the sea scallops which tasted like it had been dredged in salt, I had to send it back and I've never sent food back EVER. My boyfriend had the veal "special" and it was so over cooked that it was rubbery.

Love the breakfast, lunch and dinner here! We feel like we've stepped into a Food Network channel restaurant. Everything we've had is delish! You just have to go during off peak hours, because it gets BUSY!

Been here about half a dozen times. The atmosphere is a more upscale pub feel, though a somewhat small joint. Bar in the front means buying a drink while you wait to be seated. Once you battle (wait) through crowds and are seated, it becomes a nice experience. The menu items are truly unique, save a couple classics (french onion soup). The food is five star quality, and we are always very full when we leave. More good news- they have a veggie burger! Would recommend

My absolute favorite place to come for Sunday brunch. The menu is incredible. Biscuits and gravy, chicken and waffles, Sneaky Pete! You just cannot go wrong with anything you pick. My favorite go to is the truck stop. Sweet potato tots covered in maple syrup with awesome pulled pork all topped with fried eggs. Grab a Bloody Mary and you have my favorite breakfast of all time. The staff is always friendly. JJ is the coolest server ever. The meals take awhile to come out, but it is worth it. You should be there hanging out with great friends talking about your awesome Saturday while you wait anyway. :)

My husband and I have eaten at the Left Coast several times for breakfast/brunch on the weekend and it is wonderful. The food is unique and delicious, the staff is sweet and friendly, and the atmosphere is fun. It is small and parking can be tough, but it is worth the extra effort and patience.t I highly recommend it to anyone looking to try something new.

I couldn't believe there was a wait on a Tuesday night! It's a small place with a cool, modern vibe. The only complaint I had of the place was the mixed drinks. For a place that has the word cocktails their sign, charge 11-$12 per drink, they could have been done a little better. The bartender was very busy though so it's forgivable. For an appetizer, we shared the Tamale with wild mushrooms. The combination of flavors and textures were wonderful. For dinner I had the Smokey Lobster Gnocchi. It is more a shareable appetizer, but I wasn't sharing this. It was rich and smokey, and not overly salty. You could tell a lot of other people here were into the food as well. We chatted with people at other tables. We all looked at each other's food and everyone commented favorably. Even the sandwiches and salads looked unique. Your going to spend a bit here, but I'm pretty sure it will be worth it.

Amazing amazing amazing!!! I have to thank my dear friend Nicole for recommending this place. Where do I start? The French onion and chowder soup? Top part French bottom part chowder. Best of both worlds! How about their mimosa kit for brunch? This place is a gem. Definitely try the jalapeño bacon corn cakes!! Oh I cannot forget their amazing bar selection. All taste buds will be satisfied for sure!

We chose to go to Left Coast, because we had a restaurant.com certificate, but I will go back over and over again. The food was absolutely amazing!!!!! Probably the best burger that I have ever eaten and the lobster salad was to die for. And to top it all off, the service was great and the owner made a point to go to every table to check on the patrons.

Great place for breakfast on the weekends if your hungry. The crab and lobster hash is awesome and the omelets are very good. I have never had but people I have gone with loved the Oreo cakes w/ whipped cream. The service for breakfast when they are busy is slow at best, I don't think the kitchen is really set up for breakfast service and the staff looks lost at times. I have been there once for lunch the french onion chowder is great if you like french onion soup and new england clam chowder, I don't know why I have never thought about combining the two but I'm glad they did. Diner was a good time. I have been there a few times with my wife for date nite. We got there early and had some drinks at the bar. It's very lively and the bartender makes a good drink. The mussels benedict is a great appetizer, my wife and I are light eaters so we were able to split it. The hot and sour noodles and pan roasted scallops were very good. Cinnaboncotion for desert was way too much but so worth it!

Left Coast... A hidden gem... This establishment not only has amazing food, but it's a cool place to be... When we are there we feel at home. Our children love it. Hands down the best brunch in nassau county. Chris is an amazing host and we look forward to going there as often as we possibly can. We wish them the best of luck on their new venture in Bellmore.

The food was simply fantastic. The restaurant seems to be plucked right out of the lower east side of NYC. A cool laid back place that produces quality product. The service was attentive, so nothing to really complain about there. I would definitely recommend checking this place out. You won't regret it.

IM POSTING THIS HOPING THE RESTAURANT WILL READ. I am posting on behalf of at least a dozen people. Left Coast Kitchen in my opinion has served me some of the best things I have ever eaten. HotnSlurpy Noodles, Rootbeer Glazed Pork Chops, Mussels benedict, brunch and anything having to do with a potato and a fryer. BUT the consistency is all over the place. I have ordered the same things many times and sometimes they are amazing and sometimes they are straight bad. in my opinion consistency in food is the #1 most important thing in a kitchen. PLEASE LEFT COAST HELP US. We love your food but starting to become not worth taking the chance on a bad meal. PS you should bag the popcorn and offer sell it to go. I would buy like a pound of it.

A: There is usually a wait. B: IT'S TOTALLY WORTH IT. We love this place! It has great beer choices, an awesome menu and everything you order is just absolutely delicious. I came here after I saw it on Restaurant Hunter. The place has a San Fran theme which is really cool!! I haven't tried their breakfasts but I hear they are awesome!!! You can tell the owners really care about the establishment. The food is great, the place is clean, the service is friendly! Also, my boyfriend has to eat gluten free and they were very accommodating to his diet needs. I had to remove one star because the bar tender was extremely slow getting a beer and a seltzer. And I mean, EXTREMELY slow. But, other than that - I love the place!

  • Max G.

Attentive, friendly staff served a very unique menu. Duck chicharones as an appetizer? Hey it was pretty tasty. Wine was a little pricey, but their drink menu looked good, too. The menu offered a nice variety of unusual dishes, but we settled for the Left Coast burger and a Lobster roll. Both were better than average. Some of the entrees were also a big pricey, but not your average menu. We ended up taking home half our meals to enjoy later. Two thumbs up!

I have been there 2 times for brunch. The first time the wait wasn't to bad. The 2nd time the wait was BAD. I was told 20-30 minutes but in reality it was over an hour and that was after I had to beg to be seated. The service is not the fastest, but its good and the waitstaff is very nice. Its a very small restaurant and it can be very loud. Now on to the food, the food is excellent, their brunch selections are unique and delicious. I have gotten to try the French Toast, the biscuits and gravy, and the sweet potato marshmallow pancakes, their home fries are to die for!!! They need a bigger location, with more parking and maybe even an opentable option would be helpful as well.

Had brunch sitting at the bar earlier today. Place was packed. Food was awesome. Don't let the wait times fool you, bar seats open up pretty quickly. Can't wait to go back and try lunch or dinner !

This review should be 3.5 stars**** I received a gift card to this restaurant and went there last night for drinks/apps with a friend. The decor is very cool. There was a lively, loud bar scene for a Thurs night, clearly a tribute to LCK's popularity. We sat at the bar. Service was mediocre at best. Food was ok - menu looked really eclectic, but seems to have an identity crisis of sorts. We ordered tuna nachos - which was sweet and spicy. Tuna was cooked perfectly- rare. I don't want my tuna sweet and the side of kimchi seemed out of place. The Mediterranean hummus platter was average. One really interesting thing I noticed was that if you want a glass of wine from their bottle selection, as long as you order a minimum of 2 glasses, they will open the bottle for you. I thought this was super special and truly added to the intrigue of LCK. I would try this place again.

I feel as a business you should either take orders on take out or not....As a customer I would like to know when I call your going to take my order and not when its convenient for you. Before I called i looked at the menu decided what I wanted and than got yea we are busy no take outs. Needless to say my opinion is dont order take out from your place..

If u like a noisy place, this ones for u. Food was ok. They really like old bay here. My shrimp and my husbands lobster sandwich was heavily spiced with old bay. Portions were huge! We liked the mediterannean appetizer. The place was packed Valet parking was available.

this is one of those times when i'm incredibly grateful for yelp and the people who submit reviews...i stumbled across LCK on here while trying to find a new place for dinner since i couldn't think of a single place i'd been before that i was dying to go back to tonight...reviews seemed pretty good, a quick glance at the online menu had my mouth watering at the thought of some of these concoctions, and that was good enough for me turned out to be an experiment well worth it and then some - what we found was an unbelievably friendly spot with great waitstaff (sal is one kickass waiter - super knowledgeable & helpful every step of the way), an excellent drink list, and food that shows a real culinary vision and that is skillfully put together to create a really memorable experience...the meal begins with a yummy basket of popcorn (truffle oil & cinnamon on it according to our waiter - strange sounding i know, but it was very good)...had the pan roasted scallops & truly enjoyed every single bite, tasted wifey's roadhouse sandwich as well which was really good - and to contradict those who said in their reviews that LCK won't do changes to menu items, she asked for this with no mushrooms and it was done no questions asked...shared this delicious cinnamon roll dessert whose name is escaping me at the moment but it was a really nice way to wrap up a great meal be forewarned: the parking really sucks around here - we got very lucky on our second trip around the block and landed a spot near the door, but it was becoming quite tempting to park in the mcdonald's on the other side of merrick rd & run across...that to one side, i can't think of a single problem with this great spot that i really look forward to coming back to over and over again, with a menu like this it will be hard not to become a regular so that i can try all the dishes i just didn't have room for tonight

The service was slow and horrible, I had to ask the hostess, manager to have someone take my order. The food was decent but the staff acted like they could not be bothered. Oh well.

I have been here many times now. Each time the food has been great! They do an excellent authentic lobster roll. No fillers or over use of mayo. I also love their surf and turf mac and cheese. Everything I have had here has been great! They have an excellent beer list and good wine list. One of my favorite restaurants!

I've been here twice on a breakfast and a lunch occasion. Both menus are fun to browse through. It definitely leaves you contemplating all of the items for a few minutes. I went with the Temple Burger from the Sunday Brunch menu and the Crab Burger from the Lunch menu. Both dishes were good. The soft crab cake and the pesto mayo is a nice combination. Very delicious.

Went here two weeks ago for the first time after hearing a friend talk about their breakfast. It was too late for breakfast so we decided to give their lunch menu a try. We were immediately taken in by the San Francisco themed decor as we had just been on one of our regular visits to SF the week before. When we asked about it, our very friendly, attentive waitress told us the owner is from San Francisco. Already we liked the place. Great beer menu. That's a pretty important thing. Our waitress was great at describing the various beers to us and recommending a few. I had the crab cake sandwich, which was amazing. Perfectly cooked, savory, actually tasted like crab and if you've ever had a bad crab sandwich, you know what I mean by that. My boyfriend had the chicken sandwich. Juicy, tasty, more interesting and flavorful than you'd expect a chicken sandwich to be. Our experience there was so good we didn't even get annoyed by the baby screaming in the booth behind us. Of course, that might have had more to do with the three IPAs I had than anything else. Highly recommend Left Coast Kitchen. We'll be going back to try their breakfast and dinner menus. And more beer!

My favorite place!!! I've had breakfast and dinner here. Breakfast favorite: Morning in the mission. Quesadillas and a black bean omelet Mmm! I love that they give you a basket of pastries while you wait! Great Bloody Mary's!! For dinner hour:: OMG You must try the cowboy tacos!!! They were AWESOME!! My steak was cooked perfectly and the bar makes a good martini!! You will leave this place happy, full and planning your next visit!!!

Best burger I've ever had. $12 and it's two full patties with magical bacon bits, sauteed onions, and cheese . The worst thing is the parking, but I talked to the owner and he said he has a deal with the dry cleaner next door and you can park in their lot when the cleaners is closed. They are gluten-free friendly, just tell the server. This place is always packed - it was crowded on a Tuesday at 7 pm.

This is a great option for weekend brunch. Being there aren't too many brunch places in the area other than the diner. Dinners good too...my main issue is they try to mix in prepackaged things with their delicious homemade food. Chicken and waffles - waffles are not homemade (the box was sitting next to building which we saw when walking in), the mini muffins and croissants you get at the table are not homemade and the burgers aren't do hot and they look factory formed. I don't know why they're doing this. I can't imagine that it wouldn't be easy to get a few waffle makers... On the plus side - the flatbread pizzas are delish, breakfast are great and pancakes are huge and it's all shareable. Share sweet and savory! There are so many choices and yummy combinations. I'm sticking to brunches at LCK.

Came here on a Tuesday night around 7pm. Not a long wait, but it was far from empty. Service was excellent from the waiter. Great selection of food from the menu, which would be appreciated by those who love seafood (takes up a good portion). Ambiance was relaxing with some low-volume music in the background (turned up a few notches at maybe 8pm, but no biggie.) Overall a great experience. Only complaint is the cramped bar booth seating.

We went here on the recommendation of a friend. We didn't realize they serve breakfast till 1 on Saturday and 3 on Sunday. The bartender sat us as soon as we arrived but she was a bit abrupt. Everyone else was very friendly and it had a really fun vibe. We had gone on a Saturday @ 1230 expecting to get lunch but they would not allow us to order off the lunch menu till 1. Seemed a little uncompromising, but we went with the flow ordering breakfast and we were not disappointed! Chicken waffles with eggs were oh so delish, as were the pumpkin praline chocolate pancakes. The biscuits and gravy were very good but they did skimp on the gravy, all the other portions were huge!! We will definitely be going back to check out lunch and dinner at a later date, and perhaps breakfast so we can check out some of the other intriguing options!! Please note the parking here is very difficult, there are a few spots around back but hardly any parking otherwise.

Been here 3 times since my initial review. Upgraded the rating. Food is consistently outstanding-- the service as good. Is it loud on a Saturday? Yep. Crowded? Yep. Worth every bit of it. Last time out our group had the French Onion Chowder which was one of the most amazing things I ever put in my mouth. Chopped lobster salad? Chock full and delicious. Our group had one of the pizzettes for an appetizer and for entrees the scallops and burger and vegiburger and some macaroni and cheese pot that the people on the other side of the table from me finished before I could get a forkful! Desserts were outrageous, including a gooey Cinnabon with its middle out--stuffed with caramel, nuts & caramel ice cream. (Two small, tiny wishes--espresso to cut the richness of the desserts would be great. And one or two of Long Island's craft beers added to a one of the finest beer menus would add a nice touch to this warm, neighborhood gem). Part of the reason for the noise level comes from the sounds people make as they dive into their food--some bordering on obscene! A can't--no, a shouldn't miss.

I first reviewed LCK last September when I first went there, and I had nothing but rave reviews for it. I've been there many times since then, and I only love it more. I went there on Saturday for the brunch with my husband and I was floored. I had coffee in front of me within a minute of sitting down, and the waitress was very helpful in helping us decide what to get because everything sounded so delicious. We ended up getting two dishes and sharing them and there was so much food we couldn't finish everything, even though it was so delicious we tried. Our waitress was very helpful, and the Chef and owner, Chris, stopped by at one point to see how everything was. I love LCK and wish I could eat there every single day!!!

Really disappointed...we were planning on celebrating our anniversary at LCK, only we never made it to the table. When we arrived we were told it would be a few minutes which was fine especially since it seemed really busy and it was a Saturday night. But after waiting for 45 minutes past our reservation time we had to walk out. The hostess seemed totally overwhelmed and unable to give any realistic idea of what the wait time would actually be. Not cool. It would be totally understandable if they didn't take reservations, but having worked in a restaurant before I can say that you can't take reservations if they're going to be meaningless. People get pissed and it doesn't make you want to go back and have your time wasted only to walk out disappointed and hungry. Hopefully LCK can remedy this. It's a real shame because the food is so good.

Well here we are sitting at the bar. Just signed up for a yelp account just to make this VERY important post so CHEF CHRIS I hope you are reading this !!!! I think I speak for all the patrons in the restaurant right now when I say you NEED a late night snack menu. Help us out. It's called drunk munchies and we love your cooking!! Fix this serious problem ASAP Xoxo

This restaurant is probably the most interesting of Merrick eateries. The chef takes basic American classics like mac and cheese or hamburgers and adds interesting twists to them. For instance, immediately upon sitting, your table receives a free appetizer of popcorn in a tin bucket...but this popcorn has truffle oil and herbs in it. I found it a bit too salty, but still very tasty. The pasta entree is another good example. Long Island has a zillion Italian restaurants that all serve basically the same things: penne a la vodka, etc. But the pasta at LCK is something unusual: braised beef ragu, peas, blue cheese and walnuts. And the beer menu, which is a specialty, is full of great microbrews. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is that their menu has few alternatives for the health-conscious; this food is not the kind of thing that you can eat often if you have heart issues, or if you are vegetarian. But what they do, they do extremely well and with great friendliness.

I had high hopes for this new gastropub, but was rather disappointed by both of my visits here. The food is OK at best: it seems as though the menu and dishes are trying to be something it's not. I have to agree with some other reviews claiming the overall place and food as "confused". First visit: The tuna tower had too much going on that it took away from the tuna itself; the lobster roll was alright, but I've had better; home made chips are pretty good but the crab dip was a little disappointing. Second visit: the Crab Cobb salad seemed to promise great things, but was instead a flop. There was ample crab meat throughout the salad, but the combination of bleu cheese & ranch dressing completely overwhelmed the crab. Again, there was just too much going on in one dish... I wish some components were left out of the salad and I think it would do well with a light citrus based dressing instead. My boyfriend had the short ribs which were tender and tasted good, but again, we've both had better at different BBQ joints. I hate to say this, but just because you throw a bunch of expensive ingredients together doesn't warrant the food as "fine dining" or "high end" if it isn't cohesive and leaves much to be desired. Needless to say I was left feeling very unsatisfied. I admit the beer and drink selection is really great; they offer a lot of variety and there is something for everyone to enjoy. The staff and chef are personable and friendly as well; service is good. I definitely recognize the effort in this restaurant, but IMHO, the menu needs some major tweaking.

Have been twice now. The first time, I got the lobster and crab omelette. Today my wife did while I got the temple "hamburger," which consisted of scrambled eggs, red onion, cream cheese and lox served between two latkes. An odd combination to be sure, but it turned out to be a total home run. Long Island has a paucity of breakfast places. Sure, there are diners, but they all serve essentially the same thing (with the shining exceptions of Thomas' and Merrick Ave. Dine). Both visits here gave me breakfasts that exceeded my imagination. Will be back soon to try dinner. Only complaint is the parking lot, which I will simply not use. Drove around the corner. This is vastly worth the two block walk. Bravo!

I cannot say enough about Left Coast. I live in the area and Left Coast trumps any other restaurant in a four-to-five mile radius. While most Merrick/Long Island restaurants are "pretty good for the suburbs," Left Coast is world-class food. It is a restaurant that far outshines the location and even most restaurants you'd find downtown. Unlike other area eateries, LCK is a top notch bar and restaurant with a serious list of microbrews on tap/bottle and innovative food that is nearly incomparable. I have eaten here more than I care to admit and wake up craving certain dishes. Chef Chris is a blessing to the area and his pork belly is so good that it will make you believe in God. Although the specials are consistently stupendous, do not miss out on standing menu items like the root beer pork, lobster roll and slurpy noodles. The Mussels Benedict are something to write home about. LCK does not slouch on breakfast either; the chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, and temple burger are all good choices for breakfast. Every person I have ever brought has loved it and there is truly something for everyone. (Dinners for the gf; drinks for the dudes; and even Mother's Day brunch for my mom).

Well. I made two mistakes when I went here. 1. I chose a bad night. 2. I ordered the wrong dish. I would love to go back....but not when it's busy. Restaurant week. Bad idea. It's way smaller than it looks in photos and they had to keep sliding our table from side to side to help the tables next to us. I feel bad for the waiters. They shouldn't of packed so many people in. (And the parking is also not the most fun. Busy street parking.) As for the food. I ordered chicken scarpariello over the meatloaf and my dish was 1/2 the size of everything else that came out. It was actually about the same size as my lobster mac and cheese appetizer (which was watery but delicious. Perfectly cooked lobster). And....when my closely seated neighbor got his 4 inch slice of meatloaf with 2 cups of lobster mashed potatoes...I was sad. No other way to put it. 2 small chicken breasts over 1/2 a cup of undercooked home fries with 3 small pieces of broccoli rabe. Disappointing. And the pumpkin cheesecake tasted like they forgot they already added the sugar, so they put it in again. My dining partner has better luck. And the burgers that came out to my left were huge and mouth watering. I would like to go back on a slower night....where we are not being pushed around and the staff is not stressed. It has potential to be a very good.

This wasn't our first visit, but it probably was our last. My boyfriend ordered the grilled-salmon salad, which we found to be consistently good. I, however, ordered the steak frites. The strip steak was tough, gristly, and gamey, with a layer of fat on the outside. I could only handle a few bites before asking the waiter if I could make a substitution. When I voiced my criticism of the steak to the waiter, his response was only to look at it for a few seconds, then agreeing to a substitution. No apology. What came next was the lobster roll. No, this wasn't the version described in the 6/17/11 Times review as "a toasted, open-face brioche bun piled high with big chunks of lobster in Old Bay mayonnaise, accompanied by cole slaw and house-made potato chips" and it looked NOTHING like the photo ( nytimes.com/2011/06/19/n… ). Instead it was a minced mayo'd mess of meat which seemed to be mainly leg. There were only a few chunks of claw meat, which weren't sweet-tasting. I didn't see any "choice" meat from the main body or tail, unless it was included in the "hash." Who knows? The "brioche bun" was a hot-dog roll. The cole slaw was basically cabbage mixed with a lot of mayo. I couldn't detect any seasoning. The chips were not crispy. When the waiter came with the bill, I informed him that this was the worst lobster roll I ever had. His reply: "It got rave reviews in the past." Well, not this one. As before, no apology for the second uneaten entrée. Obviously, we will not be returning anytime soon.

Not having someone greet you in the front is a total fail on management. Having multiple staff workers walk by you and not even acknowledge you that you're there is just rude. I don't know if I'm supposed to wait in the front or just walk in. After what felt like 5 minutes it was time to leave. It's a shame, I wanted to try their food.

Hey there, so I've got to agree with Christine re: hostess stand. It's always awkward to walk into a restaurant and just stand there, but it seemed like you walk into the bar area with tables and maybe the back is more straight up restaurant so maybe there was a hostess stand back there that I didn't notice or something. Anyway, I got the 2 tuna salad. It was ok, the seared tuna was definitely better than the poached. The poached tuna was supposed to have a wasabi cream and there was definitely cream but I didn't really taste any wasabi so it seemed like the cream/mayo/whatever was mostly there to hold it together. I didn't hate it, but I also felt the menu was a tad misleading although I don't think it's intentional (like the creamed corn that really was more like grits). Anyway I guess I'd try it again, but I'm not really in any rush to. When/if I do I'll update.

I would rate this place for a higher score if I wasn't so turned off by the bartender. The food is amazing and having the owner run out your food is such a nice touch but he should be wary as to who he hires. I went with my family for restaurant week and it happened to be Thursday night, when ladies drink free at the bar. The bartender was very quick to dismiss my inquiry about ladies night. I thought I was incorrect & verified it with the hostess. After asking again about the ladies night he pointed at his watch and said it started at 9:30pm, mind you it was 9:50 and continued to flirt with the younger girls at the end of the bar. I stopped him and abruptly said it is passed 9:30pm. Needless to stay he said he was going to watch me drink my at the bar bc if I left he would charge me. Again, Left Coast is an amazing place to eat and I will be back but will not stop for a drink.

Went to LCK on Saturday night. We got the turkey wings and Poa Poa chicken and shrimp. Everything gets an A. I got the short rib...more of a rib roast...but very good. My friends got the steak sandwhich and it was overdone. Get dessert. It is a must have. Also, make reservations. The chances of you getting seating without one is slim to know. Also, if you life craft beer, the list is almost unbeatable.

This place is not to be missed. Yes it is small and noisy but who cares...The food is great. My wife and I shared the surf and turf mac and cheese. The only thing I can say is YUM!! I make a mean homemade mac and cheese but this just blew it away. We also shared the scallops which were perfect and of the highest quality. The scallops come over a bed of risotto which was tasty and well made. Lastly I found the service to be friendly and helpful when making food choices. Since we live in the neighborhood, it made it nice to walk after the artery clogging meal we ate at LCK.

Sooo..I was in the area and Yelped restaurants near by to try out. After checking a few spots out I decided on LCK. My thinking was that this place had the look and food of a place in the city that I would enjoy going too. Even a review said it had that "Brooklyn" feel too it. I want to first start off by saying my waiter was a cool guy and even apologized numerous times about my experience at Left Coast. That being said...I waited literally an hour and 15 minutes for two appetizers. One of which was a greek appetizer that had hummus and fried cheese on it. How long can that take to make? Half hour...Forty five minutes TOPS. I usually don't mind waiting, especially if the food was good, but this was ridiculous. Best part of eating experience was popcorn they gave while we waited endlessly for our food. The Lobster appetizer was barely enough food for one person (I was splitting with one more person) average at best. Greek appetizer was horrendous. Couple of store bought items thrown onto a plate the same why you'd do if you had company over. I was so hungry that I ate it just to have something in my stomach as well as went to get food somewhere else when I walked out the door. Again waiter. Cool guy. The place gave me a discount and was sorry about the wait, but I can honestly say this is a wanna be city joint and if you like it, venture across the Nassau border into Qns/Brooklyn and you would never find yourself going back to LCK.

Went to this lovely treasure with my boyfriend tonight. The place is cute and cozy. Luckily it was a Wednesday night so we didn't experience a wait or have trouble finding parking. They put a little pale of popcorn on the table. The popcorn was good but a bit too greasy for my liking. We ordered the turkey buffalo wings for our appetizer. They were different-- definitely prefer chicken but I like the fact that they had something different on the menu. For entrees my boyfriend ordered "the roadhouse" which is similar to steak tidbits and I ordered the "pacific wedge salad". My boyfriend loved his entree, stating the sauce on top of the melted cheese was delicious and one of the best he's had. My salad was pretty good as well. Also, our server Dan was very knowledgeable on the different varieties of beer. I forgot what I ordered (something German) but it was just to my liking. We were too stuffed for dessert but I will definitely be going back to try the XL brownie which includes peanut butter, chocolate gelato, and hot fudge-- a chocoholics dream. Overall, we had a great experience and will probably make this one of our regular spots. You just can't go wrong-- nice atmosphere, knowledgeable waitstaff, good food and some good tunes as well.

Been here at least two dozen times and the place is as consistent as they come. Although the wait is at times too long, I always walk out pleased. Excellent Pizza specials, delicious lobster rolls, great bartenders, best beer selection anywhere and a very friendly staff make this an enjoyable evening whenever we go. I only wish it was a bigger place. Chris is an amazing chef and does a nice job making his customers feel appreciated.

I have been to LCK quite a few times since it opened. My experiences started off great, they have a good atmosphere, nice music and ambiance, good menu and great beer and bar selections. So it's incredibly disappointing that more often than not the food is horrible. It's hit and miss whether what I get will be palatable. I ate there for the last time today. I had brunch with my boyfriend, we both ordered things we have had in the past and both were inedible. The jalapeño corn cakes were just buttermilk pancakes with jalapeños, the sneaky Pete was served on a hot dog bun. Worst of all was the side of bacon, pre cooked Oscar Meyer bacon put under the salamander and completely burnt!! Safe to say we will never be dining there again, the only good thing they have going is there bar and drinks.

I've been to LCK only once, about a month ago, with my boyfriend and it was really enjoyable. We went mid-day during the week and it was totally quiet. The staff was super attentive and the atmosphere was casual. We ordered the black bean dip - which was absurdly good. And perfect for two people to start with. I ordered the crab burger, also very good, not amazing but definitely worth trying. Our waiter was sweet and because my dish came with fries, brought over a massive plate of dips to try with it. Thoughtful. Also, the beer selection is quite nice. If you're into craft beers, they've got a decent lot to choose from. Overall, I'd definitely come back.

My work people and I made a 12 noon reservation for about 12 people. We each had brunch type food which was very good and everyone was very happy with this. Over coffee, towards the end of the meal, not the waitress but a manager came over to us and asked us to leave since they needed the table for another party. We were stunned by this request, got our things together and left. The restaurant is somewhat narrow and not good for big groups-it is more suited for a group of 4 or less. In light of this distasteful experience, it would be difficult to return under the circumstances.

I've been coming to Left Coast regularly for some time now and have been meaning to yelp about how great this place is! Granted I get the same thing every time I go (scallops- amazing), I have tried almost everything off the menu (yes, I just have to taste everyone else's dishes too). I love how the chef really plays with flavors and textures in his dishes-with bold flavors and unique combinations, they always make the mark! Cocktails are also fun and well done! Finally, the service is always up to par. The servers are personable, knowledgeable about the menu, and remember their patrons. Big up to Craig who's always spot on with food and drink recommendations! Merrick needs more restaurants like this!

My husband and I have eaten dinner at LCK twice now. Both times we started with the surf & turf Mac & cheese. It's really great- perfectly cheesey with a light truffle flavor. This time we also tried the wedge salad- it had bacon, avocado and a really great blue cheese. It was a great salad. Both times I got the Sunday Night meatballs. It is seriously amazing. Great garlicky meatballs, fluffy potato gnocchi, pinenuts, and mozzarella cheese. The first time my husband got the pork chops, which he thought were juicy and delicious. This time he got the short ribs. They melt in your mouth, and came with deep fried, fully loaded potatoes. It was all really delicious. I only wish I had room for their dessert special- fresh homemade churros with a caramel apple gelato. Sounded great.

LCK is one of our favorite local places to eat. The menu is very diverse. I like to try it all. Our favorite server is Craig. He is always very attentive. My husband needs a constant flow of coffee and Craig is constantly checking the cup to keep my man happy. We can always count on Craig for witty conversation too. The only negative of LCK is that is can get pretty noisy but the food and atmosphere more than makeup for that.

I had dinner here over the weekend and I definitely give Left Coast two thumbs up! My BF made reservations ahead of time, so we were seated right away and enjoyed munching on the complimentary seasoned popcorn...it was addicting. For our entrees, I ordered the Ravioli du Jour and my BF got the Roadhouse open-faced steak sandwich. Both dishes were delicious, I especially loved how the steak sandwich had a French onion soup flavor to it. For dessert, we tried the pineapple upside down bread pudding which was a fabulous way to end the meal. Also had the Lemonade Stand cocktail and in two words: tipsy deliciousness. I really recommend giving this place a try!

Just went for the first time. Liked it a lot the popcorn was a nice start. Tired of Italian food being the only food it seems. The special soup was delish. My wife and I shared the edamame. Then my entree was a strip steak cooked perfect. Will definitely be going back. The wait staff was very friendly. They are a little to hipster but nice none the less. In the end all that matters is the food. I need to try breakfast there soon.

Just had dinner here last night with BF and friend. We had reservations but still had to wait a few but their amazingly good sangria helped past the time. The place was packed at 8pm despite the all day rain. so I would get reservations for anyone going. The place is smallish and was loud. Not an annoying loud, just ppl enjoying their meals and company. I would have to say that an absolute standout for us was the energy level of the waitstaff. They honestly looked happy to b there. We had Jenna as our waitress and she was very knowledgable of the food and how it's prepared and very attentive and entertaining. I would just have to agree that the popcorn was a bit salty and REALLY buttery. Since everything seemed so good coming out of the kitchen which is open to the dining room, we decided on some apps. We had the pear salad with some fried goat cheese. Awesome. Fried duck~tasty but Wouldn't bother with the chimichurri it comes with. Gnocchi with lobster, a bit oily but tasty. Crab cake, really good. The Diablo shrimp was very oily and no real Diablo in it. And the short rib was fall off the bone tender. We were gluttons and had to try dessert. We shared the brownie with vanilla gelato and some fudge and peanut butter sauce. We thought it was more of a cake than brownie but still fresh and good. This is our new favorite place. Well worth the 25 min drive from queens. Can't wait to do the Mac n cheese next time!

This is an update: Our first experience here must've been an off night because we've been back at least 4 times and the food was perfection every single time! Very happy we gave Left Coast a second chance- it's now our favorite local spot! The crab cake is TO DIE FOR! The lobster cobb is ridiculous, must be at least a pound of lobster meat in that thing. Also brunch favorite- Sweet potato marshmallow pancakes (sounds silly- tastes amazing!)

Always have great time at LCK. Food is really top notch, and the menu is always changing with the seasons. Love the Steak Frites and the Surf n' Turf n' Mac & Cheese. Can also recommend the buffalo turkey wings and spicy thai popcorn chicken for some appetizers. Beer list is diverse, and Dan behind the bar always has some great suggestions. The best part of LCK is the breakfast. First timers should definitely try the Sneaky Pete - 3 poached eggs over a spicy garlic toast topped with bacon and scallions. Where else can you find Chicken and Waffles on Long Island? Tender, nice crunch, and topped with eggs, honey, and hot sauce. I can also say that the Smoked Chicken Hash is out of this world. Huge portion of hash topped with chicken, eggs, and a chile hollandaise sauce. Unreal!

Visited LCK for the first time last summer, but forgot to post the glowing review it deserved - I'll be sure to update next time we're there for dinner. But for now, let's talk brunch. We've been here for it 3x since the beginning of the year, twice with a large group of mostly the same people. We're ALL fans for life. I've tried the large majority of the breakfast menu. Highlights are the Sneaky Pete, Chicken and Waffles, Jalapeno Corn Cakes (with or without the bacon), and Biscuits and Gravy. Also notable, in their own right and also as components of some of the other dishes on the menu (including the Biscuits and Gravy), are the Home Fries, which are perfectly seasoned and just plain addictive, and the Scrambled Eggs, which everyone raved about as being "so fluffy", "rich", and "velvety." If you prefer your brunch entrees sweet, the Sweet Potato, Coconut, Hazelnut Pancakes are delicious and exciting, while the PB&J French Toast is a more predictable, though equally decadent, alternative. LCK even makes something special of the most standard breakfast fare: the omelet. On our second visit, my husband ordered one with spinach, mushrooms, caramelized garlic, and goat cheese. I chided him for his "pedestrian" choice... but all the flavors came together so well that I was forced to rescind my brunch elitism. Two bonuses: their coffee is actually quite good (like an elevated cup of diner coffee), as are the mini croissants, muffins, and scones that are brought to the table shortly after your arrival (for dinner, the galvanized buckets that hold these baked goods are filled with seasoned popcorn instead!). Both are complimentary - can't beat that! Finally, it is worth mentioning that the Chef cannot generally accommodate any alterations to their breakfast dishes. They offer a professional and friendly explanation for this on their menu, and it has yet to be a problem for us or any of our friends. Pricing is absolutely reasonable for the quality and the portions, and is fairly consistent across the menu. Our servers have always been upbeat, pleasant, and patient with our large groups. LCK is one of our favorite restaurants on the Island, for its comfortable but trendy ambiance, its inventive and seasonal menu, and its memorable flavors!

I went here last night with a party of 6 for dinner. We had 7pm reservations. Upon arriving on time we were told our table was not yet ready and it would be 5 minutes. The hostess then disappeared for 20 minutes. We were finally squished into a corner around 7:30. The restaurant was extremely loud and our waiter could not hear our order unless we shouted. The food though was delicious and brought out by the kitchen staff. It was all fresh and hot. The dessert was also amazing. If you are going to order dessert, I suggest the fried cheesecake. Two things that I had an issue with was that our waiter did not come back to our table to check on us in a timely manner and the parking is horrible! The valet will not come out right away so you are left waiting by your car or waiting on the street because the driveway is packed. Park in the McDonalds across the street! All in all, I would go back for the food but not the atmosphere. We spent $350 on food, dessert, and one drink each. A little pricey for the place in my opinion but the taste and a night well spent with friends was well worth it.

Yay! I'm a fan! I really enjoy Left Coast Kitchen! Whether i go for Sunday Brunch, or IPA's at the bar or dinner in the dining room, I am always satisfied. We LOVE breakfast. My favorite is Chicken and Waffles. Mike likes the Sneaky Pete. Jonathan gobbled up the Temple Burger and Lauren had a "Mission" that morning eating the enormous Cheese Quesadilla. Saturday night we dropped in and it was packed. So we cozied up to the bar for a few great Founders Ales. Then we decided to have dinner which included a cheese platter with some outragous stinky blue cheese. We also had the French Onion Chowder and a Salmon Special. Everything was terrific. We are very happy that a restaurant of this caliber has joined our neighborhood. Hope to see you all soon!

I just called this place to inquire about a reservation and realized that i've been here half a dozen times and never reviewed it! Here Goes! Starting off, for its location the parking might seem intimidating, but they do have a lot on the side/back of place and offer Valet, which I recommend you use. Once inside, it is a cozy little place. For the size of the place overall I was surprised to see such a large bar area, but it works for them and if you see the size of the kitchen it might give some insight as to the size of the bar and limited tables. I am not a huge fan of the beer menu. Their claim is they offer different beers every week, I haven't been there that frequently to validate this claim, but they do have some very different beers on the menu. They also have bottles if you are not interested in the offerings. Limited beer menu though, I think maybe six different taps and many of them are very strong in alcohol content and flavor...IPA's, etc. Once at the table the kettle popcorn instead of bread is a nice allure and much different than anything i've had elsewhere. Food: Excellent. I have had almost every appetizer except the turkey wings (just can't bring myself to try them). The crab cakes, (cranky crab patties I think they are called) are good, but i've gotten them every time I went, and they were a bit off twice so me being a crab cake fanatic I would tell you to 'Avoid' the crab cakes. I'm also a snob though, so take my advice with a grain of salt if you find yourself craving them and let me know what you thought. The entree's are also delicious. I can't rant about every one i've had, but the ones I clearly would have again in a heartbeat are the short ribs, the burger, (unbelievable, just make sure you get it cooked to your liking, I had to send back my rare burger that was literally like a mcdonalds patty) some pizza thing, and the lobster roll (which also in my opinion is one of the best ones i've had on Long Island. There is a restaurant called the Lobster Roll out east (a few of them actually) and these places have nothing on Left Coast's lobster Roll. My only critique is they should really get a GOOD bread for it, not a potato hot dog roll. Still good toasted with butter, but any lobster roll fan would have to agree with me. My take, definitely give it a try. It isn't the best restaurant but its fairly consistent and the food is better than most places around. Coming from a repeat customer I would go again anytime the opportunity presented itself. I have to say though that don't expect the best meal of your life, if it does become that...great, but I had heard so much hype about Left Coast that when I went I was just "eh" about it. (which was ONLY because of the overkill of emotion about the food) Only on subsequent visits did i appreciate its consistency and quality.

We had a great time at LCK this Friday evening. The place was pretty crowded and a little noisy, but the wait staff seemed to have things in hand. A crab cake appetizer was huge at about 8 oz, very tasty and enough for two. The squash bisque with apple was thick and rich, nicely garnished, as was a meaty seafood chowder. I had enormous and juicy pan seared scallops in a bowl of stir-fried vegetables over a savory corn pudding. It was unusual, had a great combination of flavors and textures. All this was served with craft beers by a skilled and concerned staff. We might have had some dessert if portions were not so large. While the ambiance looks more like a bar in Hoboken, the good food and warm vibes make it a place worth visiting.

This place is amazing. I can't believe it took us so long to finally try it. They menu is fresh, new american style dishes and everything we ate was wonderful. The bar is fantastically stocked with a great beer selection. The interior is a perfect mix of cozy tavern. This is really the kind of place that you could eat at 2 or 3 times a week and be perfectly happy. I highly, highly recommend it.

If you want a laid back atmosphere with good people, good food, and great drinks, this is the place to go. I started off with the French onion chowder which was whole and hearty and did not disappoint. For dinner I had the yellowfin tuna and my friend had the Lobster Cobb. There was a huge among of fresh lobster in the salad along with fresh wholesome veggies. The tuna was also incredible, well prepared and cooked to perfection. Can't forget the rather large tap and bottle beer menu of loads of home brews. This is my third time here and they have yet to disappoint.

Good food. Good service. Reasonable prices. Fun beer list! Be aware - the place gets busy. We were there on a weeknight this summer around 6pm. By the time we left, it was jam packed. We'll be back.

Great food in a nice atmosphere. The exceptional French Onion Chowder has a rich chowder mixed with onion soup and a good heaping of cheese on top in a hefty portion. The burger, topped with cheese, bacon, onions, and cole slaw, are a big juicy, sloppy, yummy mess. For breakfast, the light, flaky biscuit topped with the sausage gravy was a standout. Also tried which range from good to excellent the lobster bisque and lobster club. The service is enthusiastic but a little lackluster or overworked sometimes, and there is not a smooth transition between breakfast and lunch on weekends.

This is the kind of place that should have a line out the door at any time of the day. To think people routinely spend more at a diner for mediocre food every day. Sure, parking may take a few extra minutes and it seems from previous comments and even on the menu that the chef prefers to not substitute or make changes when possible...most likely because much thought has been put into each selection and when you begin to alter the ingredients, you lose the effect that the chef is trying to achieve. Then the dish is not so good, and the person sees that as a reflection on the chef, not their changing everything up. With that said, this is a must go to, bistro type pub. unique, creative entrees, very reasonable prices and more than ample portions. the wait staff is friendly and seems to be knowledgeable about the menu. we were there once for dinner, which was out of this world. I had incredible mussels served in a huge bowl with a poached egg and 2 perfectly toasted english muffins for dipping. My husband devoured the root beer pork chop with pork belly over something delicious that escapes me now. they carried out this obscene tower of goodies for dessert that we will have to return to try...a slue of treats stacked 2 feet high on a skewer. Their beer selection is excellent and vast. Our waiter that night was passionate about each beer. This morning we tried the breakfast, which is served on Sat/Sun. The menu is exciting and although I never eat starch, I could not resist the sweet potato -coconut- hazelnut pancakes.... stacked 3 high with a scoop of melting butter, warm syrup on the side. They were fantastic...and I am sure the other 20 odd choices were just as great. The side of sausage was 5 large pickle sized wonders...over the top great meal. My husband had the eggs/lox/onion/cream cheese/tomato towered between 2 latke (potato pancakes)...gorgeous to look at and divine to eat. But the best....amazing....wow...came from the Bloody Mary that Claire made...spicy and smokey from chipotle and thick with pieces of lemon and horseradish...the most delicious bloody mary that I ever had in my 49 years....I had to have a second and then had to hand over the car keys !! Try it...there's nothing not to love.

I can see this place being "5 stars" on my next visit, but tonight they were definitely having an off night and there were a lot of issues. For food, my girlfriend split a general tsao's shrimp pizzette for an app which was pretty good. Interesting and fairly decent but not sure I'd get it again. My entree was the short ribs which were out of this world. Very, very good (one of the best I had). My girlfriend's meal, however, was the complete opposite. She got scallops which were raw (very disgusting). They re-cooked hers instead of making a new dish (which I think is the wrong thing to do). When it came back, they were still raw! My girlfriend didn't want to go through the trouble of sending them back so she just ate the corn pudding it came with (which she said was just ok). I could have eaten my entire short ribs but opted to save a nice portion for lunch tomorrow. A bus girl (not sure if that's the equivalent to a bus boy, but you know what I mean) asks if we want our food wrapped up. My girlfriend said no, I said yes. She asked me if I wanted the bone wrapped up too (it came with a huge bone that didn't have meat on it). I said "no just the meat". What did she do? Throw everything out. No lunch for me tomorrow. All in all, the poor rating was for my girlfriends dinner and the poor service. The ribs and their deliciousness saves it from a 1 star. I actually will probably come back, but just take out instead

Left Coast = dislike. I went to Left Coast recently after wanting to try the place since their opening. I read about it somewhere and was intrigued by the "different kind of restaurant" it touted itself to be, especially with the "more city than long island" part of the review. This, however, it was not. What it was, though, was a confused restaurant at best. At first glance, you walk into a place that looks more like a bar than a restaurant. The first space is quite large, but empty when there's no one at the bar (which is most of the left side of the front half). The other side of the restaurant is a row of bar tables that look exactly as such - bar tables, not restaurant tables. If you step in further, you can see that there is a restaurant somewhere in the back, but appearing more as an afterthought than on purpose. Fine enough if the rest were good. Upon being seated in the back area, however, I immediately noticed a big "window opening" that displayed the kitchen area. Now, I'm all for seeing the cooks cooking and the hard work that they put into it, but this is only when the kitchen area is a delight to look at. Instead, I saw a hodge podge of pots and pans, a microwave door, food supplies and a head that would pop in and out of the pans every so often. Dislike. Once I finally sat, I was given the menus by staff that was really nice (only saving grace perhaps?). The food was an eclectic mix of burgers and steaks and seafood, with mushroom risotto and lobster succotash as interesting sides. You were also brought a tin can of weirdly infused popcorn that was actually none to my liking. My boyfriend and I decided on the salmon with lobster succotash and the "More long than short ribs", with a "tuna tower" to start. Verdict: Well, for one, I didn't really care much for the Tuna Tower. Eating it was a bit of a mess as the tower fell as soon as I sliced a piece with my fork. The blackish rice felt and tasted undercooked despite the "it's a different kind of rice... it's Japanese) from our waitress. (fyi: if you didn't know, i'm asian, and quite fluent in the differences of rice - from thai rice to sushi rice, from risotto to pilaf, from bismati to regular brown, and I pretty much know if my rice is cooked or not). And the tuna and avocados that were sandwiching the rice did nothing to peak my interest. As for the salmon dish, the salmon itself was perfectly textured and flavored, but the lobster succotash that was found below was unfortunately smothered. The flavorings that the chef used for it completely overpowered the vegetables that by the end, I felt like I needed a severe taste neutralizer. Only plus was that it had actual pieces of lobster, and not the imitation that some places use. Finally, for the short ribs, the waiter was right in saying that the ribs practically fell of the bone. They did. And even though he brought me a nice steak nice to eat my meat with, I was completely fine with just my fork. Overall though, I'd say that I felt like I was eating more of a stew because the juices that came out of the short ribs were just a bit too much. This was so much so that any side that I had (which was broccoli) was soon swimming in broth, completely negating the flavoring of the side. By the time I was done eating, it actually looked more like I had a stew than a plate of short ribs. Overall, I'd say this place is a complete miss. Unfortunate for me because I was really looking forward to a different kind of restaurant in a town that has a lot of the same.

We have been here a few times. The place is on the small side but has nice character to it and a great menu. Just about anything you might crave. We recently got the sweet and sour slurpy noodles, the yellow fin tuna entree as well as the steak frites. All we great. Will come again to try something else on menu.

Went in for dinner and drinks last night on a double date. I was surprised at how small the place actually was--We had reservations for 4 at 8:30 but we weren't seated til a little after 9, but we were at the bar so it didn't even bother us. Once we were seated we had an attentive waiter and ordered right away. They had a nice selection of beer/wine but I ended up with a delicious hard cider. I suggest trying the black bean dip for 2 and the yellow tuna nachos, incredibly tasty! I'm a vegetarian so there were only 2 entrees available for me--wasn't feeling a veggie burger so I ordered spinach ravioli. The meal was cooked well and tasty just not anything to write home about. Everyone else ordered burgers, and a salmon dish and they were all satisfied, I also tried their french fries soo yummy! Ordered a brownie/churros for dessert it was enough to share between 4 people--too much even! 4 person dinner with drinks our bill came out to $165--not bad for a night out. I would definitely come back, and I've heard great things about their Sunday brunch so I want to get on that!

So, this time, went for breakfast with the 'rents. I'll try to keep this one shorter then the rest. Breakfast, was great. I used to have a go-to place, Mary Bill's, in Merrick, which unfortunately closed a few months ago, that was, in my opinion, the BEST breakfast place on the island, slightyl better then Thomas's and Maureens. LCK did not disappoint. So, instead of the popcorn, you get a 'pastry basket', which was pretty clever, in ours we had 1 mini bagel, a scone, and 2 mini muffins, all of which were pretty good. As for food, my dad ordered the Buttermilk Pancakes, (he's a pancake expert), my mom got the Berry Toast, and I got a 6 egg omlete, with tomato, red onion, american cheese, and bacon. I'll start with the Berry Toast. Surprisingly good, as I am not a big berry person, but my mom was in heaven with this, the toast itself was good, the berries were fresh, and a great portion. As for the pancakes, when they come out, usually the thinner the better, as they are airy and light, and generally a better taste, and large ones are thick, no flavor and just plain heavy. These are a great inbetween, but keep the nice airy consistency, and you can tell a good pancake when you go to put butter on the lower stacks, as they fold back nicely, and these did. Very well done. As for my omlete, wow, outside of knowing 6 eggs for one person is ridic, you just can not stop eating the omlete, it tasted great. I gotta say though, the kicker, the yukon gold home fries that came with my omlete, the most surprising part of the meal, me and my whole family ate them before we ate anything else. Breakfast, a must go at LCK. I gotta do lunch soon, then just continue to eat more of the menu.

What a find! LCK has everything you're looking for in a bar/restaurant. The best beer selection I've ever seen on the island. If you go here to order a Bud or Coors, you're wasting an amazing opportunity to sample some great craft beer. The staff from Chef Chris on down is friendly and attentive. They make you want to come back over and over again just for the great service. They menu is just exciting. No boring pub food here. Go in with an open mind and try it all. Must haves: Buffalo Turkey Wings, The Road House, and Deep fried Junior's Cheesecake.

Awesome fast breakfasts from such a small kitchen. Been here 3 times now, always consistent food quality and service. Everything I have tried so far has been great but my favorite is the hash... Such huge portions.I eat a lot and can never finish.

I've been here twice now: once for dinner and once for breakfast. I really enjoyed both visits. For dinner, we arrived when the place was empty and we had fantastic service. Our server was very happy to recommend beers and dishes, and let us sample the beers before picking one. When we first sat down we were given a small bucket of popcorn instead of bread - loved it. For dinner, I had the burger, which was gigantic and delicious. My husband had the surf and turf mac and cheese, which he says was good (but no DuMont!), and my sister had the mahi mahi tacos and the wedge salad, also reported to be good. The portions were huge! Dessert was a cinnamon roll with the insides scooped out and replaced with nuts and ice cream and topped with whipped cream and the rest of the roll --- delicious. We also had the vanilla custard pie, which looked like a mess but was amazing. For breakfast on a Saturday, there was no wait and we were seated near the kitchen. Service, again, was great. We were given a bucket with a selection of breads and muffins. Between four of us we had the vanilla cinnamon french toast, the truck stop, biscuits and gravy, and the temple burger. I don't think any of us could finish the massive amounts of delicious food. Overall, I really enjoy this place. The vibe is cool, the service is good, and food is good and creatively put together, and it seems to be very consistent. I'd recommend a trip here. The only eh part is the teeny tiny parking lot! Edit 7/12/13: We went back a third time. Consistently good service and food! We're fans.

Meh, I was expecting greater things. The staff was friendly and they have a great beer selection. I found that the food didn't match the atmosphere and I liked the atmosphere much better. The tuna tower was a little confused in taste, and I wasn't a fan of the forbidden rice. The warm crab dip was pretty good and the homemade chips were very tasty. I had the sea scallops and was excited for the truffle oil but honestly I didn't care for it. I've only been here once and hate to make a bad review on one time so I plan to try it again but for now I think the place is just ok and nothing great and a little overpriced.

Food Hounds... If I died tomorrow; it could be said in my obituary that I saw the light at this unbelievable Gastro-Pub in Merrick, New York called Left Coast Kitchen! Seriously, I couldn't express in words how fantastic of an experience this place was. First thoughts walking through the door is it is similar to that of a small English Pub; old school and modern all in one with a bar that spans the entire length of the room. Very warm and inviting, you could easily pop in for a drink after a long day, or enjoy an epic bar crawl with a group of friends without actually leaving your seat! Stepping further into the back you'll find the restaurant area which is actually a very quaint, comfortable eatery with a fantastic vibe. The staff is VERY hospitable as we literally had drinks in our hands as we sat down. Creative and interesting to say the least, the Food Hounds embarked on a journey into the unbelievably awesome... a spot that after this experience launched its way into the Top Ten list in Hound history... a feat that isn't easy to do! They bring you a small metal pail of quite possibly the BEST Popcorn that I've ever tasted... a Cinnamon Popcorn with White Truffle oil and butter -YUM! Kudos in keeping it extraordinary people - loving it! Now I must say, the theme of our meal should have been eat big or go home; because EVERYTHING is portioned to feed an army! The FOOD... let's start with the Coleslaw - included a blend of apple cider vinegar, shredded onions and all the other little goodies that lay within this new twist on slaw. As for the French Onion Chowder... pure stroke of genius! I broke into the small crock-pot that was set in front of me in order to taste what I thought was French Onion Soup; I was taken by the aroma, flavor and what seemed... simplicity in this soup. Looks can be deceiving; I didn't realize that this special bowl of soup was actually LAYERED and what lay below was uber-incredible Bacon Potato Chowder! Separate they were intense; but together... orgasmic. The chowder was chunky and bursting with the blend of bacon and potato that is OH so good, while the French Onion was sweet, tasty and remained steaming hot under the blanket of fresh Mozzarella. WIN. Ok, this Chef has more tricks up his sleeve than Harry Houdini! Let us describe the Buffalo Turkey Wings. I've got to admit that we had our reservations, until that is we bit into them. WOW... these suckers put the largest of the chicken wings we've had to shame. These babies are glazed and braised for twelve hours until ready to be devoured. The skin is crispy and insanely tasty while the turkey is succulent and spicy - fantastic flavor! Once and awhile sauce isn't needed; however an honorable mention goes out to the home made Bleu Cheese that was chunky and delish! The Classic Lobster Roll was HUGE, sporting hefty chunks of fresh lobster tossed with herbs and spices on a toasted Brioche bun. It was hard to figure out the best way to attack this baby as the portion was meant for a giant! To make this dish even better, it came with that awesome slaw and none other than homemade potato chips that were crispy and yummy! Maple Mesquite Sweet Potato Tots (YES PLEASE) which were like a full breakfast in one bite - delish! The LCK Burger was ridiculously impressive... two four ounce Angus Burgers (eight ounces in total) laid side to side and nestled on an Onion Brioche slathered in a comfy bed of that awesome slaw and caramelized onions! Wait... there's more! Bacon... who could EVER forget bacon?!? The description is SPOT on and I refuse to change it as its perfect, "Beefy, Oniony, Cheesy, Bacony and Such." Accompanying this masterpiece (Enter Applause Here) were the slammin' hand cut Fries; thick, seasoned, crispy and unbelievable. Here it is, the Big Daddy of them all... 'More Long than Short Rib.' I damn near almost cried... Braised for twelve hours to create the most beautiful WIN ever. Mind you, this Rib is about a foot and a half long with fall off the bone meat that literally melts in your mouth! Tender and plentiful, the meat was unreal and the gravy was light and flavorful. This EPIC meal is served with Loaded Deep Fried potatoes... crispy full potato halves, fried on the outside, moist on the inside and insanely good! Cheese, real bacon, chives and sour cream. Then there was Dessert. The 'Tower of Power' holy cow! Let's just say a two foot skewer, mounted on a base and then bombarded with more sugar than you could shake a stick at! There was SO much on this gem that I'll give you a rundown of some favorites... the Red Velvet Cupcake was moist and incredible, the Oreo Cupcake love was unreal - moist and chocolaty, soft and chewy Oatmeal Raisin and Chocolate Chip Cookies, fresh and juicy Strawberries, fluffy Pound Cake, and the Brownie... chocolaty, chewy and rich with flavor. What an amazing experience had at the Left Coast Kitchen; we were left very impressed and VERY full!

Supremely forgettable. First, service. I don't know about you, but service is the utmost for me: if a restaurant has great food and poor service, that's a bad restaurant. If a restaurant has meh food and great service, I'm likely swinging by for round 2. When I go out to eat, I am paying for the service. The service at Left Coast is weird, or at least it was the night my party of three came in. We were seated in a four top in the middle of the dining room, then moved, inexplicably, almost as soon as the hostess sat us, to a five or six top in the back left of the restaurant, right outside the kitchen. The table we were moved to was less comfortable than the first table, and servers kept bumping into it. Our server actually said "Oh! You guys are kind of far out into the dining room! Let's move you back a little." Into a corner. When we were already kind of smushed. After SHE MOVED US. So weird! Other little oddities included not refilling our drinks, appetizers coming quickly and dinners taking forever, and that first move itself, in a restaurant that was not nearly crowded. Second, the food: It was ok. My Caesar salad unexpectedly came in in stalks of lettuce, which rendered it difficult to eat. I have since learned this is an actual style of serving Caesar salad, but it was not to my taste. For dinner one friend and I had steak frites, which were so-so, and another friend had a sandwich (I forget which; I'm sorry), which she said was ok. We skipped dessert. We had had enough of Left Coast's shenanigans at this point. And we were tired of getting bumped into by all the servers leaving the kitchen, which was located directly across from my seat. The Times gave it a good write up, which is why I wanted to try it out, but Joanne Starkey (the Times' Long Island food critic) and I must agree to disagree on Left Coast. I'm going to stick to the Right Coast (the East Coast!) for all future dining decisions.

Went to dinner last night. My date & I didn't have a reservation on a Saturday night. It was 7:30 & the dining area was pretty crowded. We didn't wait more than 5mins before we were seated. The very small dining room was the only thing I didn't like. I have claustrophobia so it was kinda rough when I first sat down. Our waiter Sal was fantastic! Extremely friendly & knowledgeable of everything on the menu. The service was very prompt as well! I had the Roasted Edamame Beans as an appetizer. Out of this world! It had a siracha dipping sauce. They were lightly cooked in truffle oil. My entree was an appetizer. The Baja Mahi Mahi Tacos. Again, delicious!! My date had the Long Short Ribs. He loved them!! They were beef ribs that just melted in your mouth. Dessert was Chocolate Gelato on a Peanut Butter hot Chocolate Brownie. WOW!!!!!! The drinks (Margerita & Fireball w/Sprite) were perfect as well!! The close quarters are the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for really good food at very decent prices!!!!

Love this place. The food is great and the atmosphere and vibe are really nice. Only downside is that everybody else feels the same way and the place gets crowded! Definitely go there for dinner- but you gotta try the breakfast too!

My friend and I had a lovely dinner last night at this splendid establishment. We shared the Mediterranean appetizer. The pita was warm and soft, the cauliflower was brined and the hummus was very creamy. Everything was delectable. I had the "Long but short rib" entree. The meat fell right off the bone. It was excellent. We perused the brunch menu as well and I will definitely return to indulge in their many varieties of flap jacks.

This place is great! I got a travelzoo deal here, the fact that it's a gastropub definitely caught my eye. All the gastropubs are in NYC. Anywho, the decor, pretty classy, luckily my boyfriend and I had a reservation, seating took a bit but we had a good spot. For appetizer, we ordered the surf and turf Mac and cheese. For the Mac and cheese lovers, you have to try this. The cheese and the truffle oil, always a perfect match! the shells were on the al dente side, but no complaints. As for the main course, I ordered the sesame crusted yellowfin tuna. This had wasabi risotto on the side and asparagus spears. Tuna, great, risotto, it was the spicy side which I love, but for the spicy cautious, I watch out. My boyfriend ordered the steak frites...now this name can trick you. Steak frites, it's not steak fries....you get a nice thick steak with fries in truffle oil. There was watercress on the side, which eh not amazing, but truffle fries were delicious! As for dessert, we shared the tiramisu with chocolate gelato. Scrumptious, that's all I need to say. Why the four stars? The service was somewhat slow. I would absolutely come back. Keep up the good work!

Sunday brunch started off poorly. Our waitress informed my wife that she could not have lettuce and tomato with her omelette. It came with potatoes and there could be no substitutions. I wanted to get the chicken and waffles but it came with a sunny side egg. "Could I get the egg scrambled" I asked. The waitress shuttered and told me that "she would try but that the chef really doesn't like to make changes". The rest of our group of six ordered without incident. Little pails of breakfast rolls were served and I grabbed a croissant. Disappointing and commercial tasting. I wasn't happy and felt that this meal was destined to be a disaster. And then our brunch was served. The quick and dirty is that four people thought the food fabulous, one thought very good, and one said that she should have chosen something different. My chicken and waffles (with the egg scrambled) was as good as I have ever had. Just great. My wife's omellete was perfect once she removed the potatoes from her plate. Our friends were all pleased. We ended up really happy with Left Coast Kitchen. I can't understand the need for such rigidity but I do intend to return for dinner.

This place is so inconsistent with their food that it is not worth risking a bad meal. Been here multiple times for drinks and for the most part the food is overly hyped garbage. For example, breakfast on Sundays they use Oscar Meyer pre cooked bacon which is then burnt under a salamander. Inexcusable. My poached eggs were served over a hot dog bun, of all things, and could have been made easily by a drunken idiot living in a basement with only minimal ingredients. Avoid at all costs unless you're just going for drinks.

decided against better judgement to try this place one last time, key word being LAST.(first review 9/29/13) menu conceptualization by far exceeds execution. appetizer pizzette should have been an embarassment for the chef, far worse than frozen pizza. duck chicarones has so little flavor than we asked for salt and pepper which we had to ask for more than once. seasonal beer was served warm. when we sent it back the waiter said he was going to put the open beer on ice. so first warm and then flat? so in conclusion poor food paired with lousy service. no thanks. good bye and good luck left coast.

GREAT FOOD, HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! I've been to Left Coast Kitchen twice. The first time was a Thursday evening around 6pm with 2 friends, after being seated at a table in the back, which was rather tight and unpleasant, due to the loudness of everyone seated around us, we requested to sit at a booth instead. If I had known how horribly uncomfortable the booths were, we probably would have opted to suffer through the table situation in the back. I'm guessing based on the other reviews, we were lucky to have been seated right away, seeing as there is usually a wait. Once seated, the waiter appeared to have been drinking a little, he was slurring his words and being much too flirtatious for anyones liking. We ordered, food arrived in a fair amount of time, everything was delicious, no complaints there! We did not order alcohol seeing as none of us drink, and the waiter must have asked us at least 5-7 times if we were going to order more than water, if not, why? and continued to make jokes about us drinking only water. Once the bill came, we asked if we were able to pay using cash and a credit card, about $20 on the card and the rest in cash (one friend only had a card with her), he said fine, no problem, but then shortly came back and announced that he had charged the entire bill to the credit card, he was sorry, was there anything he could do to fix it? We insisted that it was okay, we just gave our friend the cash and decided to call it a night. The waiter would not leave the table, but continued attempting to flirt and carry on about how sorry he was and if there was anything else he could do, then proceeded to ask us all what our names were, shake our hands (ew!!) and ask questions about us (REALLY???) ... so finally, to make him go away, we asked if he had any chocolate (to make up for the mishap with the bill?), he brought out some chocolate chip cookies, a kind gesture. Shortly after we overheard him at the bar talking with his co-workers about us, laughing about giving us cookies after we had only had water to drink during the few hours we were there. I've had better dining experiences elsewhere, where the wait staff didn't laugh at my friends and I, gathered around the bar like a bunch of idiots. HELLO, the place is not that big, WE CAN HEAR YOU. The second time, I decided to give Left Coast Kitchen try, it was a Saturday evening around 8pm (our first mistake). I had no idea it would feel like the bar at a heavy metal concert, it was SO LOUD. We were told upon walking in to "See the tall girl by the bar" who was situated behind about 10 people who were standing all around. Does it get any more unprofessional? At this point, I feel like this place is run by 20 something year old man-children who only care about food and beer. Once we were finally seated about 45 minutes later, we were put in the last booth across from the bar. IS THIS BOOTH MEASURED FOR CHILDREN!? No one in our party was larger than a woman's size 10 and we were literally SO squished in the booth, you couldn't even put your napkin on your lap. It was the most outrageously uncomfortable dining experience of my life. We were greeted by a 20- something waiter who seemed like he would rather die than take our order. He was pushed into an even further state of disagreement when we didn't order anything other than water to drink. Sorry buddy, I came here to eat dinner, let the 40 something haggard looking women at the bar drink all your alcohol. The music was so loud, we felt like we were screaming at each other from inside the tiniest booth ever made, it was ridiculously uncomfortable. Our food came, it was delicious, we ordered the Scallops and the LCK burger. We ordered the tots, which never came out, and I didn't bother to ask because we never saw the waiter again after he took our orders. We were brought the check and after about 2 minutes of figuring out our money situation (seeing as 3 people were paying with cash), the waiter came and stood AT THE TABLE while I was counting our cash, as I put it in the folder he said "Ok, need any change? No? Good." practically grabbed it out of my hand and took off. We left immediately, it was probably once of the worst dining experiences ever. The food is awesome, It's really too bad the staff is so incompetent. I won't be back to experience it a third time.

I recently purchased deal on Amazon Local and could not wait to use it. I was a little skeptical about coming hear with my 3 yr old girl and pregnant Wife but I was recently informed that kids eat free. When we sat down we realized every table (about 7) had at least 1 kid with them. Glad the family friendly move is working out for Left Coast. To start we ordered the house salad and black bean dip. The bean dip was a little pricy ($14) but good for 3 or 4 people to sample. I could of done with out the salsa, the half avocado (un sliced), and veggies that accompanied it and drop the price to $10. The salad was very fresh and a nice portion for only $7. For our main we ordered the Ravioli Du Jor and the root beer glazed pork chop. We highly recommend the Ravioli (Summer Squash, Heirloom Tomatoes, Sweet Corn). My pork chop was a little on the dry side but the glaze and everything else on the dish made up for it. Our server (Sal) was very informative and attentive. He also recommended 2 beers that were both great. Overall I'm glad to have such a great American Gastro Pub close by. We will be back.

Absolutely my new favorite ! You had me at the three page beer menu, but the food is amazing too. After my introduction to this gem, I actually ate their 5 days in a row, breakfast lunch or dinner all excellent !

Visited Left Coast yesterday for brunch with a group of 8 adults and 1 child. Understandably a large group to accommodate (even with a reservation), but the service left a lot to be desired. The drink orders and food were delivered promptly, but the rotating wait staff that assisted our table never came to check in to see how our food was or if we needed a refill on any of our drinks (which we did). We had to ask for more water and there were at least 5 empty glasses we pushed down to one end of the table which were never removed. One member of our party ordered a second mimosa, which never came. Further (and this is a huge pet peeve of mine), the waitress handed everyone their plates to take from her. Again, I'm sympathetic to waiting on a large table, but I don't expect to be handed a large, hot plate of food by a waiter. As we were leaving and the table was finally being cleared, one waiter simply pointed to the dish in front of me to pass to him to remove. As far as I'm concerned, it's pretty unacceptable for a waiter to ask you to pass plates for them to clear, especially when they were very unconcerned with clearing any dirty plates or glasses through the course of the meal. While the food was delicious and the menu had a lot of interesting brunch options, I would not recommend or return to this restaurant because of the poor service.

The Left Coast Kitchen is an amazing restaurant with some interesting fusion dishes. A friend recommended this restaurant because everyone at his office was talking about it. And now I know why! We started by looking at the HUGH selection of imported and exotic beers. In addition to the over 30 PLUS choices they also have specials! I also sampled the French Onion Chowder Soup which is 1/2 Chowder, 1/2 Onion Soup. It was amazing as was the Mussels Benedict, which was a combination of Mussels with Prosciutto, Hollandaise served with English muffins for dipping. WOW, is about all I can say. Both appetizers were excellent and an interesting combination of flavor. As my entre I had the steak special. That too was amazing, but I thought the meat was a little small for the price. No meal is complete without a little desert. Our table shared the special, the 'WTF' as well as a piece of deep fried Juniors cake. This restaurant was great and will definitely be back!

Phenomenal food! Always unique menu specials and new beers. Onion chowder is a amazing. I have been here many times and never disappointed in food or service. The staff is always friendly and makes you feel welcome. The owner is always around to make sure the place is run well. Probably the best bartenders in long island .

I think people take for granted the greatness of this place. I've been looking for somewhere on Long Island that has New York City vibes with the convenience of being close to my home. Somewhere that's not filled with the over-40 crowd and isn't filled with trashy 20somethings, like down on the Nautical Mile. LCK is THAT. The prices are steep but the portions are large, so you don't even need to go for the full three-course meal if you're looking to save (just fill up on that GLORIOUS complimentary popcorn). The cocktails are innovative and they have an extensive, unique beer list. I can't wait to go back!

It's the morning after, and I am still smiling about our dinner last night. My husband and I don't go out to eat that much, but when we do, I try to research and carefully pick our restaurants for 'the best', as I only want good quality, gourmet type food. We saw LCK on Restaurant Hunters on Fios1. The pork belly and the pork chops caught my husbands attention, and we had an occasion to go out for, so he picked it for last night. I am glad they took reservations! It was packed, but a good packed! We had a drink at the bar (the Wu Tang Cran) which was great! They have an awesome beer menu too (another thing i'm 'picky' about...good IPA's). We met the owners (Husband & Wife) who were so welcoming and friendly. We were suprised to see the Owner/Chef serving out the dishes too. You don't see that often. We thought it was great. Fresh popcorn tin on the table was terrific. It had a sweet, mapley/brown sugary type seasoning. I had the crab BLT dip and my husband had the buffalo turkey wings for an appetizer. The turkey 'wings' were two huge drumsticks and a wing, but they were the size of my feet :) HUGE! He loved them and said they slid right off the bone. My crab dish was delicious. It had a lot of spinach in it (which the menu didn't specify, but I was totally fine with that) and came with warm toasted bread and these chips that were huge (reminded me of the chinese food noodles...so good) For the main course, my husband had the pork chops/pork belly. He loved them of course. It was very filling and delicious. We also split a side of mac & cheese. Totally delectable :) I had the lobster roll and it was fantastic!!! Loved, loved, loved it and the homemade potato chips it came with. We are huge fans and will be back to try other things on our next trip here!! Thanks for being one of the best restaurants on LI. I am not sure another place really compares on the Island.

My new favorite place! I've been the LCKC three times in the last two months and haven't been disappointed. Here's what I learned: Number 1- Always make a reservation. You may still wait a bit. Number 2- It's a small space, deal with it! Number 3- It's worth it. Here's my story: The first time I went to LCKC, I met one of my friends, D, for a late dinner. We met there at 8 on a Friday night. The wait was 45 minutes and we DID NOT have a reservation. We decided to get to the bar and wait it out. I had a delicious absinthe martini. Salivating just thinking about it. D tried a few different cocktails and was happy with all of them (what a lush!) Once seated, the waitstaff was prompt and attentive. The popcorn on the table was a nice touch. D and I shared the crab and spinach dip. The dip itself was delicious, served with toasted white bread, fried tortillas, and veggies. I ordered the fish tacos for my meal and they were literally THE BEST FISH TACOS I've ever eaten! D had the ravioli, which I tasted, and were also mouth wateringly good. I'm a pasta snob, and as an Italian would rarely order ravioli out, but they are clearly homemade, the cheese filling distinct and creamy. Trip the second: My 30th birthday dinner. Back to LCKC on another Friday, made a reservation this time! Which they lost. Never fear! I explained to the hostess that I explicitly made a reservation because we were there to celebrate my 30th birthday. After waiting for about 20-30 minutes, my party and I were seated (there were 4 of us). I ordered a special called "Notorious PIG" and it was fantastic. My friends ordered the lobster mac n cheese, the french onion/potato soup, and a pizzette. We were very happy with the food and the drinks. The owner wished me a happy birthday and sent out a complimentary dessert in celebration of the event. Even with the little hiccup at the start of the night, I was very happy! Trip the third: Brunch! My two companions ordered crazy big, delicious omelettes. I had this massive thing (I think it's called the truck driver) with pork, sweet potato tots, and two glorious poached eggs on top. We had a mimosa kit for the table and it was good to the last drop. Go there now. You want this food in you!

I just love LCK. I've never been disappointed with a meal. The service is amazing. The staff is fantastic. The truffle butter popcorn is a major weakness of mine. The surf and turf Mac n cheese is a must. They often host live music. My husband can not go and not order the short ribs. And the owner chef is a firm believer in giving back to the community. I serve on the board of my civic association and PTA and have been on the receiving end of the owners generosity more then once. Did I mention the truffle butter popcorn?

First of all,,,the people that complain about the petty things on Yelp make me want to come to their job and see how perfect they are.,but i guess sweeping the break room at Target isn't that tough. We went there tonight,,,wed pm around 8pm and had NO trouble parking and NO wait either. The waiter Bill was very friendly and nice and told us that it does indeed get packed and to make reservations which apparently no one on Long Island does anymore and thinks that they should get special treatment just because they exist,,,meh,,,but regardless,,,we were greeted right away by glasses of water being filled and a pail of popcorn which was delish but i didn't taste any bacon flavoring as some others have said. We split the Baked Shrimp Scampi appetizer and it was around 25 shrimp in a delicious scampi sauce served with 2 flatbread things. We inhaled those. Then my friend got the Surf N Turf mac n cheese and i got the Lamb Bolognese. Well lets just say there wasn't an ounce of food left on either plate when we got done,,,i tasted his and im not a fan of big gloppy cheese and it was sauced perfectly. My bolognese was made with gnocchi and they were light not at all heavy,,,so good. My boyfriend was at school and we were suppose to bring him home leftovers,,,,,yeah that wasn't happening. We shared a Blackberry/strawberry shortcake for dessert,,,one word,,,SCHLOG!!!! i've seen it spelled Schlag and it basically is fresh made whipped cream and i could now die happy knowing i had that amazing meal. Will def be back to try new items and the breakfast as well. Cute and tiny and just right,,,,,GO NOW!!!!

Went to brunch Sunday with my boyfriend and our Moms. Great atmosphere and although there was a wait, we sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly and attentive. The highlights of the meal were the "Truck Stop" and the "Mascarpone Stuffed French Toast". I tried the "Sneaky Pete" (sans bacon) and although it was yummy, I was expecting more based off of the menu description. The brunch menu definitely has more items that I am dying to try--the 6 egg omelets look outstanding! I will surely be back and hope to boost my review to 4 stars. **Update: Have since tried the omelet and Morning on a Mission. Morning on a Mission is by far my favorite and is perfect for my brunch cravings!

What a surprise! Being a beer snob we are always looking for new places for a good brew. For those who know Dogfish head 120 is extremely hard to find well we had it with dinner! Food was great. Came back for brunch what an experience, we were completely ready for a nap after eating. Good times and good people here

I had been hearing about this place then saw it on tv. My wife and I were in the area last week and decided to see if they were open for lunch, we were shocked they did a great looking breakfast and were seated in like 10 minutes. Big pancakes, really good biscuits and gravy, free coffee with fast refills! Staff was good, infact prob. Really good if you consider they were swamped. Eclectic fun menu one bad thing though. We were there near one and wanted to try a chowder onion soup that they showed on restaurant hunters, they will not let you mix breakfast and lunch item at one table! Not with separate checks even! Bizzare! So we did the only thing we could do and went back at six for dinner! This could be my new favorite local place near home! Ps we saw but did not try the nor Easter roast, y god it is the size of a baby's head!

We weren't fans...we had 8:30pm reservations and weren't seated until 9:15. We were told we were next in line to be seated and after 15 more minutes of waiting the hostess comes over to let us know the couple standing next to us really wanted to sit in a corner booth spot which was the next open spot and she was so sorry but the guy had been pressing her throughout the night for that spot. Finally we were seated in a booth near the front and our waiter (who I could only imagine got his job working there because he was friends with the owner) came to take our order. I asked if I could have kale as the lettuce in my salad and he said "no, I don't think so"..ie "I'm too lazy to find out"...he didn't come over to our table even once to see if we wanted a drink, water or anything...we actually had to get up and order drinks from the bar because of his poor service. He also had the biggest attitude like we were a nuisance to him. My husband paid $24 for chicken and waffles...chicken breast on waffles with syrup...I really wanted to try another restaurant besides Snaps which we absolutely love as we just moved to the area...needless to say it looks like we will be dedicated Snaps customers for a long time to come!

Great food that's beautifully presented. Usually fantastic but once in awhile it's so so. My only complaint is the waitstaff. These girls usually stand around in the back corner by the bar and talk on and on while customers wait and wait to ask for their drinks, place their orders, get their checks, etc.

I only gave this a star at all as not to be totally unfair! This is the rudest and most unpleasant dining experience I have had on Long Island in years. I urge anyone who respect the adage the customer is always right never to step foot inside here! The owner was the most horrible and disgusting person to myself and my friends and then snickers whe I told him I would post this horrible review on yelp! He laughs and says see if I care or if it will hurt my business PLEASE HURT IT he deserves the worst and the food is maybe fair. Save yourself money go to McDonalds

Need more places like this out on Long Island. First of all, great service. The guy was very personable, and always quick to answer any questions we had. We were part of a large group with a few kids, and he handled it all very well. The food was all delicious and the menu is creative and varied. I had the steak, which was fantastic. The drink list was long and had some good local stuff. Had a few beers out of Montauk and a cocktail.

Highlights: Great location and atmosphere. Food was tasty. Menu is eclectic and seems to accommodate many palates. Yummy libation combinations :) Lowlights: Parking is tight, street parking is 1 hour max. I had the chicken and shrimp entrée and I bit down on several tiny bone pieces -ouch. Food was overpriced. Overall, an ok experience.

So this is a two part review I guess. I went to LCK back in March with friends. We went around 330 pm and were given a lunch menu, rightfully so. Anyway a bunch of us ordered the chicken and waffles. It was DELICIOUS. It was grilled chicken cutlets on a bed of mashed sweet potato purée and was layered with waffle chicken and spinach. And had a sweet syrup on it. It was so good!! One had crab cake burger. That was decent. A little dry but not horrible. With that being said.... I went back to LCK today solely for the chicken and waffles. Got there around 230. Unbeknownst to me, there are two different chicken and waffles. There is a breakfast chicken and waffles and a lunch/dinner chicken and waffles. So I go with my BF I order the chicken and waffles right off the back. He ordered pulled pork with sweet potato fries and it came with eggs. So I realized oh we're still on breakfast (Bc there are no brunch menus there it's either breakfast lunch or dinner). Ok cool well chicken and waffles is chicken waffles right? WRONG. Apparently breakfast chicken and waffles is TOTALLY different than lunch/dinner chicken and waffles. I was 100% disappointed in what I was served. There was a POUND of butter on top of the waffle which was then layered with chicken fingers (not even the same chicken as previous) and then eggs. I'm not exaggerating on the butter. It was so much so that it pooled in the little crevices of the waffle. It didn't even completely melt there was so much. In the picture I will attach you will see the obnoxious amt of butter placed. Please keep in mind there is no syrup on the waffle that is all butter. It was also so much butter that it seeped into the eggs and the chicken. You couldn't even enjoy the eggs bc all you tasted was butter. It was so disappointing. My BF said his food was good besides the massive vein/piece of intestines he found in his pulled pork that was so nauseating and hard to look at that we had to wrap it in a napkin and put it to the side. Needless to say I will never go here for breakfast again. I will only go for dinner. Not even lunch Bc apparently there is a very fine line between breakfast and lunch here seeing as we were there at 230p and were still on breakfast menus I guess. any hoot I had two very totally different experiences each time I went. I wouldn't mind going back as I said, just never for breakfast. The staff are cool.

Feeling hungry or looking for some cocktails in Freeport, Jones Beach area? Try Left Coast Kitchen, which is definitely lots of fun and you'll get a nice variety of eats. I'd frequent this place if I lived in town and I'm glad to have had the experience. Menu selection is good, nice portions, friendly service, and all the food we ate were tasty. I ordered the six egg omelette and really a good size but they could've added some more flavor. My wife's fried chicken and waffles were the best- nice crisp. My son ordered the truck stop and it lots of tasty pulled pork. Overall, a fun place to eat especially after going to Jones Beach.

When the Newsday Top 100 restaurants was released this week, we scanned the list and made a bucket list of nine restaurants that we really thought looked good and that we wanted to try. Left Coast Kitchen turned out to be the first stop on our bucket list. We were not disappointed. It was certainly busy which speaks well for its popularity. In fact, we had to sit at the bar which turned out to be fortuitous because we had a lot of interaction with the hostess Amanda (she's perfect for the job), the wait staff and the bartenders. The great thing about the staff is that they seem HAPPY to be there and excited about the food. And that made US happy to be there. My son went with The Roadhouse (See picture), a nice pub steak on garlic toast smothered in mozzarella and a strong, earthy demi-glace sauce. An ample serving of delicious fries that you could drag through the juices made for a satisfying meal. The portion was so large that I caught about 1/3 of his plate. Sharing with me is a one-way street! My wife and I shared the LCK burger. Oh my gosh, it's a double Angus cheese burger built sideways on an onion roll that looks like a railroad box car (seriously, check the picture!). It's got cheese, bacon, homemade slaw and the most innovative onion roll bun I have ever seen. It did not require any condiments and easily cut into 1/2's for sharing. Just a great burger but if you try to eat it alone you better save yourself all day for the effort. For dessert we had the fried cheesecake. My wife and son loved it. Me....not so much. I just couldn't get past the sensation of warm, sour pudding and it didn't float my boat. The ice cream on the side was fine and there was plenty of whipped cream. So it wasn't from lack of effort, it was more my personal taste. At the end of the day, we found a warm, friendly staff, great food and innovative presentations. We are definitely going back and if this is what we find on the rest of our bucket list, we are going to need more buckets!

A great night at Left Coast. Came here a Sunday night, started with a sangria and my bf ordered a special beer. We decided to choose all appetizer pickings so went with the roasted beets, truffle mac and cheese, pulled chicken quesadillas and turkey wings. Everything was very very large portions. The bill was $60 something, very great price for the portions. Can not wait to come back here again!

First time to left coast last night...nice little vibe in there. My date and I started off with the Mac&cheese (amazing) and the French onion chowder which was absolutely genius. I wanted to put a few ice cubes in it so I could just drink that sh*t instead of blowing on every spoonful lol. For the entree I got the roadhouse(pretty good) and my date got the chix&waffles (amazing). The only thing bad about this meal was my mistake of getting the yam frittes on the side. I love sweet potato and this was just uneatable. Basically no actual potato in em at all. But still a great place and I will be back at some point.

I was excited that I had recently bookmarked this place, and without ever mentioning it, my bf happened to bring me here for my birthday dinner. I'm not sure if you definitely need a reservation, but he thinks you do, so we made one. The interior was nothing special - just a bistro/bar vibe.. we sat in a wooden booth. He joked it wasn't the best ambiance for an occasion, but the food would be worth it which was true. Service was top notch as well, the waiters dressed professionally and service was great. I believe they change their menu from time to time; when I originally looked I found more options I'd like to try, but when there, only a handful I was interested in (however, I'm not big on seafood which limited my options since there are mussels, scallops, salmon, etc). I would have typically went with the mac n cheese (Mac Le Blanc) or the parmesan ravioli but since it was an occasion, decided to mix it up and try chicken+waffles for the first time. I've been told the appeal of chicken+waffles is supposed to be the mix of sweet/savory flavors, so I was a little surprised when the chicken ended up being grilled chicken (not fried-bummer- but at least this was healthier). I also didn't expect the sauce to be on the chicken/waffles already, I figured it'd be on the side - but luckily it added great flavor so I didn't mind. I loved the waffles and how they were cooked- not too crispy, not too soft, and it definitely does make an interesting mix with the chicken. The mashed sweet potato underneath them was amaaaazing- I ate that all up ASAP (so much for spreading that out as a side over the course of my meal!). I'm told this place does a great breakfast, and looking at the menu, I'm freaking out - I NEEEED the chocolate chip banana pancakes or chocolate peanut butter pancakes. For dinner, entrees are a bit on the pricier side ($20-25+) so I'd probably just stick to dinner here for occasions or weekends, but will definitely be back to try breakfast!

Excellent, delicious food! I would have given 5 stars if the seating wasn't so cramped. Thankfully I didn't have to leave my seat during my meal because I'm not sure how I would have accomplished that. The hostess was very apologetic about it. I'll be sure to request a booth next time.

Why do I keep giving LCK chance after chance only to be continually disappointed? My husband and I bought a Groupon for 1/2 off at LCK on a whim. Never again. We started with the turkey wings. At this point, the glamour is gone and beyond the size, there's nothing special about it. I had the "Fancy" chicken and waffle stack. They were freakin' grilled chicken breasts with waffles. The chicken was thick and so dry that it was nauseating. It only works with fried chicken, man. If I wanted to be healthy I would get a salad. My husband got the dragon Roll sandwich. It was like a salad or a sushi roll in a bun. There was NO need for the bun. I get that they're trying to have the gastropub feel but this way off. We didn't even want to ask to have our meals changed because everything else we've tried there isn't good. It came out close to 60. Not cheap. I left feeling so unsatisfied and super gypped.

I swore myself I'd never come back, but a groupon and another look at the menu made me change my mind, and I'm glad I did. I called earlier in the evening to make a reservation but it wasn't necessary and we were seated immediately. Service was slow to start. We were seated for almost 20 minutes before we received our drinks and placed our food orders. There was no reason the bar should have taken so long. It wasn't particularly busy and the bartender had plenty of time to talk with his fellow associates. Sal was our waiter and you could tell how much he loved the restaurant and the menu. Everything we ordered he explained to us in detail and told us our choices were great. Here's what we ordered: Chicken chicharones: Sadly, our first batch was undercooked, but Sal quickly remedied it and we were able to enjoy it in no time. They were scrumptious! The chicken was tender and juicy and had a crisp outer coating. The portion was large for its $12 price tag. French onion chowder: A must order. We were told that the menu changes frequently but this is always on the menu and I can see why. It was the best french onion soup I've ever had and the potato bacon chowder was delicious. I loved it. Again, the portion was huge. Pork platter: My fiancé's entree. He enjoyed it very much. The beans were so good. The pork belly was tender. The only negative for me was that the bacon was pretty dry. Lobster roll: I'm a big fan of Connecticut style Lobster rolls. They're usually just lobster, butter, and bread. This was a little more complex. The butter had a nice kick to it. But the lobster was a little overcooked and chewy. And I wish they'd mentioned there was celery in it. Connecticut lobster rolls don't typically have it and I don't really care for it. I wish it was stated on the menu. Our cocktails were also very good. The 50 shades of Earl Grey and the Red Hook on the rocks were strong but tasty. I look forward to trying breakfast!

I was just there tonight for the first time. The food was fabulous. The grilled edamame was some of the best edamame I ever had. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and so willing to please. One of my group didn't eat her salad because it was, for her, a bit too spicy. She didn't complain to anyone having known a head of time that it was spicy. I had the same salad and loved it. The server, without prompting, took my friend's salad off the bill. I will definitely be back.

My lovely and I dined at Left Coast Kitchen & Cocktails on 8/1/15. The food was exceptional. The LCK Burger($15.00) was large, rectangular, well seasoned, perfectly cooked medium as requested, layed with sauted sweet onions and placed on a great tasting roll. It arrived with a big mound of perfectly-cooked(and not greasy) fries. The first bite...........WOW!........simply the best pub burger I have ever tasted in my life. I chose a terrific Belgian draft beer(Delirium Tremens) to accompany the burger, very smooth with a nice complex taste. My lovely chose the Pork Belly which was also fabulous. Two issues which detracted from the experience. The main dining area is loud, with too many tables located too close to each other. In addition, the person answering the phone answered in an evasive and incorrect manner when we inquired about their reservations policy so........the personnel gave off an unpolished vibe. That being said, I'm really looking forward to returning in the hope that I am served such exceptional food once again.

Someone clicked the Like button on an older photo of mine, which prompted a trip down memory lane. "Oh yeah, I should finish posting some review drafts from a while ago." A coworker & I stopped in for breakfast and it was early enough that we got seated with no delay. Our friendly waiter put in the orders in and brought over a complimentary plate of mini muffins and mini croissant to share. I got a Bloody Mary. Given the hipster vibe, it was pedestrian, with simple garnish on the spectrum of cocktail panache. Neither crafty nor a heavy pour for $8. I shoulda got a V-...wait, I did get one. Chicken & waffles with a side of B&G. Sunny eggs cooked their way. The menu says chicken fingers, so I was aware I would not receive a plate of traditional bone-in Southern fried chicken. Crunchy coating that needed a spice blend to wake the taste buds. That's what the portion of hot sauce is for. The Belgian waffle was nice. Soft, warm biscuits, split, & topped by a measured scoop of gravy with meaty bits throughout. I wasn't feelin' the love. No soul. Perhaps I should not have ordered a Southern dish in Yankee territory, but the plate did fill the belly. The lack of parking spaces is not favorable for the customer. The struggle is especially real in the city. LCK associates should park their cars elsewhere. We were in their tiny private lot and saw an employee park then walk through the kitchen door at the back of the restaurant. Did it bother me? Not at all, however, when more than a couple of reviews mention the parking as "difficult" or "sucks", then it's worth a fix. Who knows how many people don't bother to comment and instead take their business elsewhere. Every available parking spot is profit. Maybe Tracy K is onto something with LCK being a rite of passage for mealtime enthusiasts. Service was good, but my one cocktail & meal experience fell short of spectacular. I tried it their way and wasn't blown away. I finished my food and didn't hate it either. That's a-ok with me.

Came here early on Sunday morning with some family after reading some reviews for breakfast/brunch spots in the area. Read it was tough to find a seat sometimes, but luckily we got here right when it opened so I didn't have that problem. Loved the half open kitchen and wood look, definitely cool features to the place. The breakfast/brunch menu has a good amount of different and eclectic things to choose from. I know next time I come here I want to try the Trail Mix cakes, just sounds good. I got the Smoked Chicken and Chile Hollandaise Hash and damn did it hit the spot, had a little kick to it, but still delicious. My mom and grandma had the buttermilk pancakes and both kept talking about how fluffy and tasty they were. You will not leave hungry after eating here, don't think it's possible. The portions were big and the coffee was free. Great place will be back for sure to try something different!

We were a little uncomfortable, sitting under the air conditioning unit; but that became meaningless once our food arrived. My wife had the lobster roll, which she described as one of the best she ever had. At the waiter's suggestion, I ordered the California Carbonara and it was excellent, as well. We both also ordered desserts, which were above average. Can't wait to go back, (with a sweatshirt) and try some other things on the menu!

the atmosphere is really nice. The space is a lithe tight. So the food was pretty good. But they aren't very accommodating. We came for brunch and we asked if we can possibly have a kids portion of French fries they said no. We asked if we can have an omelet smaller then six eggs that was a no also. We ordered a side portion of biscuit and gravy and that wad the best gravy I ever had. I got the corned beef hash with what's on top. My eggs were sunny side up.but they didn't cook then ask the way and they still had the snot on them. My wife had the sneaky peat and they burned her toast and over all it was nothing special. We asked for a small portion of scrambled eggs for our son and they gave the sane portion as for an adult. So not very accommodating. But already they forgot to charge fOr the oj. And coffee us free do wife liked that. We will cone back to see how the dinner menu is. I liked the pictures but haven't tried it yet.

I went with my wife for breakfast on Saturday to Left Coast kitchen using a Groupon cerificate. We ordered a 6 egg omelet a lox bagel and some mimosas. The omelet was delicious however it did not look like it had 6 eggs in it. The lox bagel dish was quite good although they burned the potato pancakes that came with the dish(they were replaced). Service was good and was responsive. The bill without the discount would have been around $55 a rather large check for breakfast. The price to value ratio is below average for breakfast for this restaurant. All in all this was a very good experience but i will not be returning for breakfast without a discount coupon.

If I wanted to play football I would go to a park. The waiters and bus boys were pushing into people who were sitting to get to customers and it killed the vibe. My waiter was in a rush for everything, could not get a word in without a interruption. The food was good but also something I will quickly forget.

Went here on a Tuesday evening with my daughter. I ordered the tuna on a bed of plantain rice. The presentation exquisite, the tuna rare in the middle sliced half way..a tuna served almost as a tuna steak but tender. My dessert was a fried NY Cheesecake which was good but I would prefer if they had less options with nuts baked into them since I am nut allergic. This restaurant is mainly for the middle aged clientele with the millenials mainly at the bar.I didn't give it a full 5 star rating because of the volume was very loud at times.

Came here for dinner and drinks on a sunday night. The service was a tiny bit slow, however the food and drinks made up for it. I had the mac and cheese which was delicious and they give you a lot. My boyfriend had the $30 steak which was pretty good as well. My Long Island Iced Tea was soo yummy and the banana nut beer was great. I would come back probably to sit at the bar and get some more of there tasty drinks.

Dine or Ditch? This is a definite dine! Overall I want to give Left Coast 5 stars. Virtually every aspect deserves it, HOWEVER, they lost a star on my last visit with their inclusion of a live band on a busy friday night. Normally I love live music and I'm a big supporter of the arts in every way, but this place is FAR TOO SMALL for a live band. I came in with a couple of friends and we had to leave after 1 beer because we just couldn't hear each other talk. That was never my experience there before and I hope it never is again... With that said, ON TO THE GOOD! So much good. SO MUCH!!! The food is great, I've had the fish tacos (excellent), wings, mac and cheese, etc. all great. But my favorite meal(s) is the lobster gnocchi. I say meals bc it's so heavy you can not finish it in one sitting. You'll be bringing it home to have again (and possibly again) and it is always delicious. I would highly recommend this on a cold winter night with a beer. You'll be very happy and ready to hibernate. The beer selection is also excellent and priced well. The bartenders are helpful and will find the right beer for you. Everyone is pretty talkative. My experiences there have always included a convo with the bartenders and they seem very happy to be chatting, however they know when to walk away as well. I think you'll enjoy your visit here and I hope you dine often as well!

So for me, this place is just okay..small cute place.. Nice bar...menu filled with good ideas but.....not so good on the plate.. Yesterday was my first time here for dinner ..my parents have been here every meal and they agree that breakfast is the best from jalapeño corn cakes to biscuits and gravy mm.. that's basically where my 3 stars are .. Last night we had french onion chowder, pumpkin lobster soup, Mac and cheese, the tamale and fish tacos... I mean all were just okay.. We just felt like everything needed a little salt! They should take the salt they put from the popcorn and add it to the chowder which tasted salty bc of the cheese but the actual chowder/broth was Eh. Needed a little salt...Mac and cheese under the sheath of melted cheese... Eh . Needed a little salt... Pumpkin lobster soup needed pepper at least.. Tacos basic at best, I've had better.. And the tamale was great I just hated the pumpkin seeds on them... It was also freezing in here ! How do you expect people to enjoy their meal if they are uncomfortable and cold? We were told oh once they start cooking the kitchen will warm it up haha hahah we were the only ones in there at the time so basically what you're saying is basically when we leave the place will be warm lol... Get additional heaters if you know the place gets cold like really ...

I wish I could say the food was good but we can't even get a table. We called for a reservation and were told we don't need one. Got here and we were told that we DO need one. Over an hour waiting and she keeps pushing us back so other people can eat. So happy we stayed. The food was amazing.

I had been curious about this place so I met up with a friend there after work for a drink and a snack. The bartender made at least two rude comments to me before I even got my drink. I got the "killa bees knees" The drink was pretty good but full of ice making it really hard to drink out of a wine glass. Which a different bartender made a comment to another guy back there like "oh she's downing it", well how about don't fill it with ice making it impossible to drink without looking like an idiot? I liked that the gluten free items on the menu were noted. The yam frittes were pretty good, but I wish they were a little more crispy than slimy. When we got the check, the prices were higher than they were on the menu, which they changed when we asked them to. Overall not a great experience and probably wouldn't go back unfortunately.

I would definitely give this place 5 stars if they actually gave good service. The food here is always good and usually never disappoints. However for some reason this visit was probably one of the worst experiences. We seated promptly but we didn't even get menus till about 10-15 minutes later. After we got the menus we waited another 15 minutes for a server to actually come over. Now at this point me and my boyfriend were debating on going somewhere else until someone finally came. I ordered the Pork Pizzette and my boyfriend ordered the mussels. Nobody ever checked up on us to see how we were doing until we finished all of our food. Not even a refill of water. We then ordered the bread pudding which was honestly the worst I've ever had. It is extremely dense and chewy. Just stay away if you can. The food was decent but the service needs some intense TLC.

Such an amazing unique menu that doesn't disappoint! My wife and I went for breakfast yesterday and I had the Crab & Lobster Hash with Old Bay Seasoning and Sunny Side Eggs...and yes it was as delicious as it sounds! So far everything I've eaten from LCK has been great! Great food and great drink selections including a good variety of craft beers on tap!

Ok so here my review on this one, our server Tina was awesome, she got the vibe of the group and she rocked the service, the food was tasty and delicious, with that been said: I ordered my drink,?everyone on the table got their drinks except me, so I waited and waited and waited... To find out they did not have one of the drinks on the menu, so I ordered something else and another drink of course, and I'm told they have just sold the last plate of scallops and there was no more (please keep in mind I still have not received my drink). Now I'm running out of options after a long day of traveling and business and NY traffic, I really want what I want so I can go to sleep. I finally ordered the cob, it was good, but to be honest what saved the evening was the server. Not sure if I'll go back based on the timing and the limited menu.

Great concept. Unsatisfying execution. (It's amazing how true Yelp reviews are !) We came towards the end of breakfast and beginning of lunch and ordered the following: Breakfast Corn cakes - it was literally basic pancakes with corn inside....not what you'd expect. (Had a side of bacon too but you can't go wrong with bacon!) Bloody Mary - a good spicy kick, I definitely ordered another one. Lunch/dinner Turkey buffalo wings - Dang these things are big! Saw a photo on yelp for these and caused us to take a trip over. However - they weren't so great. Missing a good crisp of the skin, the spicy hint in buffalo sauce, and they served it with ranch...I am a fan of blue cheese with my wings so I was disappointed. The overall flavor was bland. Mac Le Blanc - also bland. The truffle scent consumed our table and smelt delish! But sadly, the Mac and cheese was just flavorless. Maybe just a little more salt would've done the trick. Kale salad - basic kale salad. Can you go wrong with greens? Probably the most balanced dish we had here. I give one star for the homey ambiance and for customer service ( we had a female waitress for breakfast and she was amazing! Very friendly. The guy we had for lunch/dinner wasn't that wonderful but the waitress earlier made up for it). Second star for their concept - I think they can be more amazing if they revamp their ingredients. Menu and presentation is great but the flavor does not match it. Most likely wouldn't return.

I came across this old review which was written closer to when LC had first opened. Rather than review specific recent experiences I just wanted to put an update out that things have been great at every other meal I've had there (there have been plenty). While it's a small joint (which comes with some downsides) the food is always great and the service is typically solid too. Breakfast on weekends can't be beat. My wife and I can easily share the SIX egg omelet (loaded up with goodies) and sides.

I came here once for a friend's birthday. I faintly remember there being popcorn on the table. It was very crowded and loud. I honestly found it a little bit difficult to decide what to order because I'm not the fanciest of eaters, although I am becoming more adventurous and sometimes it's ok to spend more for the experience. However, I do find sometimes fancier food can be too heavy. I ended up giving in and ordering a steak sandwich on garlic bread. It was delicious but alas, very heavy. For dessert, we ordered my friend a tower of desserts that literally looked like a tower, This place is quirky and delicous but I'd like to see a few more choices on the menu, that might pave way for more types of taste buds. I'd recommend this place and might even be willing to go back there to try something new.

I've come here for brunch on Sundays 3-4 times now. It's a different sort of place and it's kind of out of the way, so I find myself heading there just for the unique experience even though in my head I think to myself I can get comparable food closer to my house. That changed this past time (approximately a month ago) This place really knocked my socks off. I don't know what gave, the food has always been good - don't mistake me - but this time around, my eyes were wide with delight at just how well put together and tasty things were. The appearance is very rustic, dim, lots of wood, narrow - reminds me of something you'd see in Manhattan. The staff is super nice across the board. Everyone is friendly in a sincere way, if you're stuck waiting they keep you updated and make it clear they know you are there. Multiple people roam to refill beverages, check up on you etc - a sort of community waitstaff which i'm noticing more and more lately and it's exclusively a good thing. The prices at a glance are what you'd expect, but the portions are quite large and satisfying, which is a nice about-face from the general trend in dining which is smaller and smaller portions (with the same prices.. strange) The omelettes at 6 eggs with 4 ingredients for $12 not only makes them a great deal, but are so hefty they could double as a weapon in a pinch (and I say that lovingly) Aside - I wish there was a ham option, or perhaps pulled pork (could grab some that's used for the delicious "truck stop") as the omelette selections do seem to fall a bit short on meat. Also, they offer free coffee! I'm not an avid coffee drinker, but as part of a meal sometimes I will, and I feel this is a nice gesture towards their customers. Tables are close enough together that you can eat off each others plates and parking is difficult, but they are minor gripes. And one last thing to touch on, this place gets some heat for their "no change" warning on the menu, but I find it almost endearing. There's a personal note from the owners to the customers explaining the small kitchen and their faith in their preparation and just asking to be mindful of waiting people and most importantly thanking you for your business. To me, this tells me that the owners Chris and Heather give a crap. In a day and age wherein the mom and pop business is getting buried underneath large conglomerates, attention to detail and caring about the customer experience is refreshing. This is reinforced by seeing the classy way in which the owners interact with their customers both here and elsewhere. This earns my respect and my business. In short, give this place a chance. I'm willing to bet that like me, when you leave you'll find yourself thinking you're glad you made the trip.

This place is fantastic! It has an excellent selection of quality craft beers and food that is fantastic. They also do a great breakfast on weekends. Anytime I have friends in town this is the first place I take them. The ambiance is really cozy and the service is good. They have such uniquely delicious dishes that make you want to try everything on the menu. Can't wait to go back.

The food here is out of this world. I only went here because I had a restaurant.com gift card that I needed to use. I was very impressed with the food. The service was just ok. The waiter I found to be a little aloof but he may have just been busy. I got the lobster roll and my boyfriend got the Cashew Chicken and Shrimp. Both items were very delicious. For dessert we got the fried juniors cheesecake which was also good. Only complaints were the beers were really tiny, especially for a $7 price tag. Apparently the more ABV, the smaller the beer but even the 4% beer was in a much smaller glass than normal. I got the Sangria, which was very good. Would return again, especially with a groupon, I thought it was a bit pricey.

The food is outstanding. I am very disappointed that I have to give this place two stars because the food is so delicious but the wait staff is down right deplorable. We were seated at a round table in the back for my party of 5. The waitresses work together on all of the tables but that system apparently just doesn't work. No one remembers what you asked for! Also, the service is very lack luster. You ask for water and you get it, but with no ice and no straw. Really?! You gave me what I asked for, but not to completion. And I know you can because other tables have ice water with straws and LEMON WEDGES! The food runner, some blonde girl with bangs, came to our table in a flummoxed manner and addressed us with a loud, "Guys." Guys? How about "Pardon me, did you order the Morning in the Mission?" Not with an abrupt and crass, "GUYS!" We must have asked the wait staff over to our table 7 times for various things. If they were to just divide the tables up and serve a few at a time, they wouldn't be so flustered and forget to bring you something as simple as a straw or more sugar packets. Label me as you may, but I know what good service is and I didn't get it today.

First time's a charm! Went to LCK for a small birthday brunch and I was worried I would have to wait because we got there around 1 but we were seated immediately. I highly recommend the mimosa kit for groups of 4-5 for the value. I had the truck stop and it was great! The pulled pork was full of flavor and the sweet potatoes hit the spot. Everyone else enjoyed their food, however, the chicken and waffles were underwhelming. The chicken was similar to the type of chicken you can buy from the frozen food section of the supermarket. Also, the servers were extremely patient and pleasant.

So happy this place! Sunday night dinner = empty. Bar scene = varied. If this was my neighborhood I feel like it would be my spot. Cozy interior. Football games on the TVs. Waiter Sal = attentive and awesome Food: Brussel sprouts appetizer - a+ and a huge serving compared to NYC for the same price Gnocchi with lobster = B. Greasy. Flavorful Shrimp and grits = banging. With a decent amount of shrimp too Tamale - good to split for 2. Will def return

Sunday brunch review: My girlfriend & I had a smoothie in the morning when we woke up (this is relevant to the review - I swear) Got ready, drove 45 minutes to get there, & fully prepared to wait for a table. Wait was 40 min. No big deal- we were in no rush. Got sat around 12:35. Food didn't come until 1:45. Moral of this story? Don't come here STARVING or you just might pass out. I could see some hungry/angry patrons at the tables around me. Thank god for that smoothie. The food? Amazing. Their eggs are on steroids. Fluffy and perfect. PERFECT. The biscuits and gravy melted in your mouth. The potatoes were crispy and well seasoned. My girlfriends omelette with goat cheese and veggies was delicious. COMPLETELY made up for the slow service. Didn't try any pancakes but my friend tells me the banana peanut butter ones are awesome. I highly suggest brunch, but be ready to wait. Don't come here and expect to be seated right away unless you come as soon as they open, or after 2 when the brunch crowd dies down. We stepped inside this place at 12 & didn't leave until 2:30. Parking does suck, but let's be honest, are you not gonna come here just because the parking sucks? OH .. One last thing. They kind of have this "no substitutions" rule on the menu. So I really don't suggest you come here if you are one of those annoying people at a restaurant that makes modifications. Or if you are on a diet.

The food is delicious, however I do they're a fan of the brothers. Twice, I've been told there is a 1 hour wait and watched other customers get seated (without reservation) before me. With many seats available. I was asked to sit at the bar or wait a ridiculous amount of time. However when my Caucasian friend arrived, all of a sudden there was an open booth. Prejudice? Maybe. Maybe not. I will experiment one more time.

I've been to LCK for brunch, lunch and for dinner, and they're all great! The portions are huge! I had the lobster cobb salad which was ridiculous! Their stroganoff was awesome too! I would avoid going here at dinner time on Friday or Saturday though....it gets very very loud and you'll have to scream across the table to speak to you date. The service is usually good and they have great beer selection. Do get the French Onion Chowder! My favorite thing at LCK...it's absolutely delish!!

Tried this place, again. Yep. Still awful. I will be 1000000% honest. This place was AMAZING a year ago. Now? Not so much. Menu has been changed with subpar quality items. I will most likely never be back. Started out coming once a week, then once a month, then 1 every few months. Now? I probably won't ever be back, honestly. Well, Left Coast, you had a great run. Enjoy restaurant obscurity.

Everything is ALWAYS excellent here! From their 1/2 chowder-1/2 onion soup (a meal) to their lamb pappardelle ragu, you can't go wrong. Steak sandwich is excellent; start off with a buffalo turkey wing for something different. Had a truffle mushroom flatbread pizza & morning brussels sprouts with gouda, bacon, cheese & a runny egg (yum). Come for breakfast on the weekend, bacon corncakes, oreo pancakes, hash & eggs!

Finger licking good!! We ordered the French Onion Chowder and black bean dip for appetizers. And we pretty much licked the bowl and plates clean. They serve you big portions with big taste! Then for entrees my hubby got the chicken and waffles and I got the chicken carbonatta. His dish was so delicious, mine was okay I ended up wrapping it to go only because I was so full from the appetizers and I wanted to save room for dessert. I'm 8 months pregnant so I was only hungry for certain things maybe. We also got the beets with goat cheese which I asked to come out with the entrees, it was delicious of course! For dessert we got the fried cheesecake which is exactly as the dessert menu described it.. It's as if a funnel cake and a cheesecake had a baby! And they serve it with whipped cream and the biggest vanilla gelato scoop I have ever gotten in my life. We cleaned that too. I can't wait to go back!! You need to go to this place. I picked this place to try out because we had tickets for a show at the Nikon Jones beach theater, it's only 13min from there. You can do the same! Omg I want that cheesecake so bad now.

Unfortunately not a fan of this place. Based on the reviews I was really excited to try this place. I guess my expectations were set too high.I know it's a bar and grill but I was expecting a little more. The place was small and cramped and the service was a little too hipster/casual for my liking. The popcorn at the table was a nice idea but it was incredibly salty. So much so that it was inedible. I then looked at the menu and was impressed by the diversity of the selections. We tried the Duck Chicharones as an appetizer and although we ate it all - the flavor wasn't great. For my entree I had the lobster roll which was decent. Overall we left pretty dis-satisfied . For me the best part of the trip was the Ralphs ices which is located near by.

Lobster roll- consistently delicious, well prepared and meaty. I've made my away around the menu a little bit but I keep getting pulled back to the roll. Service is friendly and helpful. I would recommend you give them a try.

Really awesome. You get popcorn instead of bread, which is already a plus. Ordered the LCK Burger and it was better than expected. Huge burger and really tasty. Service was awesome. Oh yea, and the margarita was unreal. Way better than your standard marg. Will be back next time I'm on the island

To be honest, this place is awesome for brunch but I'm so over their dinner menu. I feel like they try a bit too hard, combining all sorts of flavors and ideas. I'm all for eclectic food and the savory/sweet combo but this menu just doesn't do it for me anymore. They used to have dinner specials which mixed things up a bit, but I just don't see that anymore. I've been there about 4-5 times and have tried different things each time. I waited to write my review because I wanted to give this place a few chances. Most of the dishes are just too rich, complicated and overpriced for the portion. The chicken and waffles were soggy and too sweet, the crab cake was too crispy and not flavorful, the lobster roll (although the lobster meat was great), the fries were soggy with butter and the portion wasn't a typical overflowing lobster roll. Their turkey meatball carbonara was so rich that you couldn't taste anything else but the cream. Bottom line, I definitely won't be coming back for dinner, but brunch is another story!

After getting all the raves from friends I finally made the effort to stop in. Got there at 630p and got a table right away..30 minutes later we would have been waiting a while. Service is friendly albeit "paced". Family sampled the menu..FRENCH ONION CHOWDER, MAC N CHEESE, MUSSLES..it was all very good. Big brownie at the end was absolutely evil!! A must have. Prices are fair for the most part, beer selection is a work in progress. Will be back!

Love Left Coast Kitchen. The food & service keeps us coming back. Was here for "Breakfast" with a large party, including my 82 year old father-in-law, who doesn't like loud, long wait, slow service restaurants. Was sat quickly, servers were all over our table offering free coffee & buckets of muffins, scones & croissants. The food came out in a timely manner for a place that was packed. I had the Temple Burger & shared sausages with a few others at the table. Can't say enough about how great that dish is. Pancakes, 6 egg omelettes, Truck Stop and Chicken & Waffles were some of the other dishes ordered and everyone said how good everything was. Shout out to the owners, Chris & Heather, who make everyone feel important in this neighborhood gem of a restaurant.

This place came highly recommended by Yelp and on a day when we were driving around aimlessly, it was the choice. And it was a great choice! The seasoned popcorn in a pail was addicting. The scene of locals were a comforting site. Service was delightful and good. I got the Fancy Chicken and Waffles. My cousin, the Roadhouse Sandwich. We also got an off the menu Duck Ravioli. All the food was delicious but the serving was HEFTY and I couldn't make a dent if I tried. The prices were a little much, but I guess it's expected in suburbia. Overall, a great vibe, and I would recommend it to any passer-bys.

Food great! Service -worse run bar/Restuarant I've ever seen. Imagine the money this idiot owner is loosing at the bar and Restuarant by unprofessional and exceptionally slow service. If you don't want customers, close your doors!!!'nn

This place has such amazing food it is usually worth the aggravation of dining here. The restaurant itself is very small so there is just about always a wait and nowhere to stand comfortably while waiting. I love their brunch but there is easily a 1.5+ hour wait every weekend. The service is subpar and even while waiting at the bar it takes up to 20 minutes to be served. I typically hate myself every time I give this place another chance and wait and wait and wait for a table and wait and wait and wait for drinks and wait and wait some more for my food but when I finally get served I remember how delicious it is and convince myself it was worth it. Fantastic food, bad service, terribly small.

The food is really delicious. Lobster cobb salad is bomb. I'd like to go back for the food but the main drawback for me is that it is very small place. They make you valet your car bc they don't have a parking lot...we would prefer to park our own car. Also, we were made to sit in a table that you could not get to the seat on the opposite side of the table. The hostess just looked at us and stared as if we should know to just climb over the table! Honestly, I wouldn't go back but I would recommend lil left coast. Food is great....and it's better to just bring it home than eat in a cramped spot.

This is definitely a go-to for me whenever friends come over to my new home in Long Island. It has some serious food network appeal. They have great seasonal brews on tap, a stocked bar and excellent service. The wait staff is also helpful when you can't decide what to choose from the menu. I had the chicken and cheddar waffles which totally hit the spot. So far, I haven't gone wrong with anything that I've eaten there. The brunch is also amazing on weekends. Their corned beef hash l was delicious. If you are ever anywhere near south nassau county, definitely make it a plan to stop by here.

Came here for mothers day brunch, and will 100% be coming back! I made a reservation way early in advance, I saw the pictures of the food on social media and had to make sure we got a table for mothers day. When we arrived they said we had no reservation, the place was packed and i thought my mom was going to cry. The staff was extremely nice, told us we would be sitting in a half hour and the first round of drinks was on them at the bar. Very accommodating. The food was outrageous. They had more than just your "IHOP" breakfast, anything you could think of, Oreo pancakes to mexican turkey hash. Also, they have a great selection of beers, will definitely come back to try the dinner!

I had the single most bizarre service experience here. That said, the quality of the food was excellent. The menu is unique and tasty. I had the chicken and waffles which was fantastic, and my friend had the lamb ragu which was pretty good as well, definitely an interesting dish. The bourbon cocktail was delicious, although I had ordered a vodka drink and was served the incorrect beverage. So let me explain the service, which was so strange. No host stand meant when we walked in, we just began walking towards the center of the restaurant. A young woman intercepted and seated us and handed us menus. Assuming she was the hostess you could imagine our surprise when she returned and asked if we wanted a drink, we though our server was busy. She never introduced herself or stated that she would be our server (I guess I never realized the value of the phrase "I am ____ I'll be taking care of you.") After a pregnant wait she dropped our drinks off and walked away. When she finally returned we were ready to order an appetizer and I asked if she had any recommendations. She proceeded to ramble off practically the entire menu. When she dropped off our app we were ready to order, I opened my mouth to speak, but instead she told us to wait (mind you we were 2 people, she could have just taken the order). It seemed strange like we were her only table in our section and so when the other server who was working our section saw us looking around for her, as our app was finished and we still hadn't had our dinner order taken, he offered to help. I informed him we wanted our order taken and he offered to do so, I said it was OK, that we could wait, but he insisted, so we ordered. Well for the rest of our evening we had this painfully awkward situation unfolding around us where the 2 servers were constantly checking on us in a competitive manner. My friend and I could not enjoy a conversation because of how uncomfortable this made us (they could be seen visibly arguing over our table on the floor). By the time the check came, we didn't know which server we would be tipping. It almost seemed as though this happens frequently, although I shouldn't speculate. Needless to say, although the food was great, the atmosphere was made so uncomfortable, and the service on our first server's part was so poor I would not return, at least not for a while, and definitely not if I was paying.

I want to start my review by saying that the staff at LFK is excellent. Extremely attentive and very nice. The first thing we had was the popcorn which was really good. I ordered the sangria which was also good and I would have again. We also had the roasted beets with goat cheese which were good, I wish they would've added some greens like arugula, it needed something. We ordered the onion soup since so many people recommended it. I have to say we really did not enjoy it. I don't know why but it was very sweet, I was not expecting it to be sweet and I did try it twice but it really was too sweet. Too sweet was the theme, my boyfriend ordered the chicken and prawns with cashews, which again was sweet, sweet, sweet. There're were only 2 prawns on the plate and the rest of the dish was 2 chicken legs on the bone and a chicken thigh on the bone. We were ok with the thigh, but those 2 chicken legs on the bone frankly shocked me. With the exception of fried chicken, I have never been served chicken legs on the bone. The dish was $24, not at all what I expect for $24. The dish was supposed to have quinoa which we did not find on the dish or maybe it was under all the sticky sweet sauce. I ordered the grilled chicken with waffles which was also way too sweet. It could've really been a great dish had they put the sauce on the side instead of drenching the dish in that sweet sauce. All the pictures I saw of the chicken and waffles had the sauce on the side, I wish mine had been. I was really disappointed by the food. I would go back for drinks and to hang out, it has a great atmosphere, great staff and really good music.

I've been here a few times for brunch and for dinner. My friends and I are always excited to come and always leave happy. For brunch the crab and lobster hash is great along with a side of sausage. The bartenders always make the best bloody marias. Some really good dinner dishes I've tried are the crab Mac and cheese, turkey wings, and the burgers. I've never had something I didn't absolutely love here.

I've eaten here a bunch of times - mostly for breakfast - but I've had dinner here as well (you have to try it if you're primarily a breakfast visitor like myself). The breakfast is just amazing. Despite the fact that the restaurant is pretty small and usually has a long wait if you get there too late - their menu is incredible and every single dish I've ever had has been delicious. The only downside is that there is no parking lot and it's pretty difficult to park as anywhere along the curb in front of them is all "no stopping anytime".

Delicious! Had the GFY (Gluten Free Y'all) Fusilli and it was the best gluten free dish I have ever had. Absolutely delish. We were there three hours on a Friday night and we never felt rushed. The churros were awesome for desert. Parking sucks though. We had to park in the dry cleaners next door, which isn't recommended during the day as you will get towed. Great dinner overall!

Didn't exactly have a great experience here this weekend. Boyfriend and I were told it was a 1/2 hour to 45 minute wait for a Friday night...Okay, fine. We go sit at the bar, order drinks..and before we know it, people coming in after us are sitting down, and it's more than an hour later. Finally, I go up to the hostess, who dimwittedly replies, "Oh, I thought I sat you already!" She said someone told her they were us when she asked. Me and the boy tried to leave, but she insisted we sit down, and they'd give us a round of drinks, as if that would make it up for it. Anyways, we ended up getting an appetizer - a pitiful cornbeef type pizza (so weird, and sort of made me feel sick), and I had the salmon while the boy had the burger. My salmon was eh - okay. A little bland. The whole menu itself was pretty unappetizing, and there weren't many healthy options. The prices were also nothing to write home about. The only reason I give this place two stars (instead of 1) is because our server was friendly, and gave us half off the bill - but that seemed like the right thing to do in this case. My advice for this place - have some sort of "beeper system" or else remember the customer whose name you take.

I had the duck chicharrones with potatoes and fresh vegetable sticks. The duck was cooked nicely. The exterior was very crispy yet not overwhelmingly fatty or greasy. The dish was based in an olive oil blend with herbs and spices. I did not feel the oil was necessary for the duck, but it was a great compliment to the potatoes. I liked the idea of having these fatty and cooked items juxtaposed with raw celery, carrots, and red peppers. The draft beer selection is limited. There were only six options available during my visit; all of which were craft and some of which were local. They seems to specialize in cocktails and wines. The service was good. The hostess seated us promptly, and our waiter was helpful and attentive. The atmosphere was relaxed; Left Coast is a good spot to unwind.

Let me preface this review by saying my partner and I got food poisoning from eating here. That was quite the deterrent from ever returning! We spent a nice day at Jones beach and wanted to end our evening with a nice dinner. This place had good reviews. The menu was fine (sounding). We got an appetizer, entree and dessert. They were OK. The dessert however (Pecan pie) was atrocious. They must have bought it at the grocery store (on clearance) and covered it with some gooey bacon mess. And our bill was about $100, so it's not cheap either. Was this place romantic? Sure in the bathroom. I mean it. The decor in the restaurant is bi-polar. The bathroom was elegant and urban chic. The front where the bar is located was divey and the main dining room is nicely decorated (a little generic feeling) but I remember the lights being really bright. The service was mediocre, our waiter was not very attentive and him and the other staff were always congregating around chit-chatting....The food poisoning was the clincher. I had to call out sick the next day. How do we know this place was the culprit? It was the only meal we ate out all weekend and we shared all of the dishes. Come here if you want expensive mud butt and iffy service. Like, I said, the bathroom was lovely though.....

I love Left Coast Kitchen. We recently decided to try LCK out after hearing rave brunch reviews from my friends. We arrived around 2:15 and the brunch crowd was beginning to die down so we only had to wait 10 minutes for a table. They have a full bar, where you can also wait and drink. There are TVs all around showing whatever game is on. A jukebox is in the corner. The bathrooms are clearly labeled as, "This is a bathroom" and "This is Sparta". Once we were seated, we were given menus and gave our drink orders. Coffee is free here, not just free refills, totally free. The menu is full of pancakes, French toast, waffles, 6-egg omelets, southern staples, everything. I kept switching back and forth between what I wanted. I finally decided on the biscuits and gravy. My companion went with poached eggs on jalapeno cheddar bread. It did take a little while for our food to come out but service is friendly, there's a game to watch, the music is solid, and it's worth waiting for. My biscuits were heavenly and the gravy was delicious. The eggs were the best scrambled eggs I have ever had, so light and fluffy. The potatoes were perfectly roasted and seasoned. My companion loved her meal, as well. I tried the bread and it wasn't just cheesy, it also had a nice kick from the jalapeno. For two people, two drinks (not counting the free coffee), and two entrees, we only paid $38. Parking is the only sucky part of this place but it's worth the hassle of driving around.

maybe more of a 3.5. I went a little under the weather,so i couldn't really drink. I got the chicken n waffles dinner it was pretty good nice presentation.finished it with a brownie sundae which was amazing and didn't make me feel gross afterwards. I only like kettle corn but this popcorn was a tasty treat and being complimentary helped that. I parked down the block in a normal street spot near the mobile station just to not be stuck in one hour parking. I would go back but id really like to try brunch but its kinda snug in there.

Ate here tonight with my girl friend. We had reservations waited only a few minutes more at the bar. Ordered a glass of wine, nice pour was 7.50 a glass bartender Bill is great friendly and attentive. Dinner we split 3/apps. Mussels from the specials was delicious very garlicky with a huge chunk of bread to dip. Baja tacos mahi mahi were juicy & spicy and perfect serving to split. Tuna nachos were also a favorite but there could have been one more so that we had an even split. The food was delicious but I don't think those apps went well together the waiter could have suggested a better pairing. Overall great place I'm glad i discovered it. This is the second time I ate here in a week will be back very soon :)))

so... we decided to give this place another try.. we came for breakfast. They have a nice breakfast menu to choose from...many pancake choices. My bf ordered the buttermilk pancakes and he said they were good but next time would order 2 instead of 4..it was a pretty big portion. i ordered an egg white omelet..you get to choose 4 Ingredients...i ordered mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes and light cheese...and it comes with potatoes on the side.. it was delicious!! The omelet is big and filling! Wait staff was very attentive and nice(very very different from our first visit here). i'm glad we gave this another try. We will be back for breakfast!

Had to get over to Left Coast Kitchen, it's a right of passage for Long Island or Metro area foodies, as are a few other places... so Saturday early for brunch was a good time to avoid crowds, ... Mom looked totally weirded out by me taking her to an empty bar that was ready to make us breakfast...Loud music @ 8:45 am, dimly lit. Very keep the party long gone going vibe. Come on in we're trying this .. lol Wooden booths, in rows in the bar room & tables in the back. Service was super friendly. We ordered fast.. tried alot of things... French toast with marscapone and cherries, looked great.. Overly potato'd hash and three sunnyside up eggs with hollandaise, also quite fetching in a somewhat high rimmed bowl.. lol... side of home fries.. cutely delivered in a tall shaped holder.. good choice for keeping them warm.. can't leave here without trying biscuits and sausage gravy. All looked great and tasted average. Staff were friendly. Rules were rigid. A request for overeasy eggs was referred to a paragraph at the top of the menu whereby I nodded without bothering to read.. they like to present them as the chef wishes... so they left my sunnyside up eggs in longer.. which worked out.. lol The brunch nazi? not quite but had mom dismayed.. Why won't they over easy your eggs she exclaimed... (lol) Why!? (lol) Coffee was refilled often and everyone was great. We wrapped it mostly to go after nibbling a few bites.. Temparature was freezing.... it was warmer outside.. ... music was wayyy too loud for mom (and me! ) lol and the hash I gave some to mom.. she insisted was past crisp, but I thought it cool and fine. Funky, good looking food, with average taste served to their specifications, no changes accepted, and presented well served by very nice waitstaff.. in a loud chilly place. Though mostly in tact and wrapped to go.. no one nibbled it all day. so.. Grey and Brave loved it. They went nuts.. five stars from the hounds. All in all it's a five star effort, more hipster hang out cool. LC, It's not you.. it's me.. lol This is a must try it for yourself place because everyone's tastes will vary.

Most people go to Left Coast for the Oreo Pancakes...a famous neighborhood favorite on the breakfast menu; or the burger on a fresh onion roll...hits the spot every time; or the slide off the bone, dinosaur size short rib sure to make all patrons feel like a Fred Flintstone. That's not why I go. I go to Left Coast because its one of the only places in town that offers healthier choices with original flavors off a menu that's always changing. I go for the Lyonnaise Potatoes: crispy and succulent all in the same bite; Drunken Muscles: light and spicy offering chunks of fresh tomato and garlic in a sauce that can be eaten as a soup; Grilled Edamame: slightly charred and a heaping portion easy to share with friends and salads chock with seasonal ingredients and creative combinations: watermelon, tomato and goat cheese, refreshing and satisfies that hard to reach sweet and salty taste bud...makes my eyes roll back. All the cocktails and dishes are chock with fresh herbs and greenery and the bartender is more of a mixologist, so talented that i cant even order my drink by name...he knows my face and says: "Don't worry, I got you." When i try to go somewhere else its never the same.

About a week ago I went to the left coast kitchen for the first time mostly because I wanted to try something different and I have been hearing good reviews about this little American restaurant. When I first got there at I was taken back by how small it was inside which frankly I am not a big fan of small places but when I hear they have delicious food the size of the place does not matter. We got seated fairly quickly and got served popcorn which was new to me since most places would serve bread and butter. So that was definitely a new experience. As I looked threw the menu everything was fairly simple but that night I wanted a salad and my eyes were set on a kale salad which included goat cheese, dates, candied oranges, cranberries, truffle vinaigrette and of course kale. I thought to myself "wow that sound delicious" mostly because I love goat cheese. We received our food at a reasonable time the wait wasn't too long and I must say I enjoyed every bite even my friend could not stop eating my salad. Overall I enjoyed my experience and will be back maybe even for brunch.

Had breakfast at Left Coast this morning and it was great. We didn't even realize they serve breakfast until today. We ordered the peanut butter chip banana pancakes, morning in the mission (scrambled eggs with black beans, pico de gallo, ranchero sauce, cheese, guacamole and sour cream with a cheese quesadilla on the side) along with the mimosa kit (bottle of champagne and OJ) and free coffee! The food was delicious and the waitstaff was great. We will definitely be back and we highly recommend Left Coast to everyone else. The only complaint was that the portion sizes are huge!

I have been to Left Coast a few times now and I can say that I have never had a bad meal. The place offers outstanding food and solid service. Oh yeah, And one hell of a beer list! We decided to come here on a Friday night with no reservation so we got here at around 6:30. The hostess said she would have to kick us out of a table by 7:30 because of the reservations. But said sitting at the bar would avoid such hassles. It turned out to be perfect! The chef/owner here is formerly the head chef at City Cellar in Westbury and while the food there has been steadily declining the food here seems to get better and better. We ordered the surf and turf mac and cheese and it was delicious as always. Perfectly cooked pasta with a cheesy but not overly cheesy sauce with chunks of short rib and lobster. This time there was a little more short rib then lobster but when you get freshly made stuff sometimes the results vary. ( although i did get a nice chunk of lobster in my spoonful) We then ordered the following: Special for the day, Monkfish and shrimp over lemon marscapone grits: Light and moist chunks of monkfish , perfectly cooked shrimp all on top of light and fluffy lemony cheesy grits. The dish had great spice to it without being to overpowering . More long then short rib: Basically a Brontosaurus bone sized piece of fall off the bone tender meat. So delicious and the deep fried loaded baked potato that came with it didn't disappoint either. Hot and Sour Slurpy noodles: Nicely cooked noodles swimming in a dashi broth with a poached egg and a giant piece of pork belly . and shrimp....I think......and pork belly........oh that lovely pork belly. We washed our meals down with the great selections of beer they have at left coast (They really have some kick ass brews both on tap and in bottles/cans. ) and were well taken care of by JJ who was out bartender/waitress/superhero. She looked in on us every few minutes to make sure everything was gong good and to make sure glasses were full. If you go there and the bar is open, grab a seat, you'll be well taken care of.

I love coming here between the fun atmosphere and the unique menu selection. Ive been here for both dinner and Sunday brunch and both times have never failed. For bfast I've ordered the chicken with waffles and corned beef hash (not at the same time). Both meals were delishious with plenty left to take home. If you wind up coming here for breakfast you have to order a side of sausage. First of all they give you around 6 fat links which taste like it was just made a few minutes before it hit the grill. Overall Left Coast is a great spot to come with friends if your looking for a great meal and a cool place to hang out. i'm glad its a local spot for me.

Had been told I had to go here quite a few times, and finally made it, and I am so glad I did! We went on a Saturday night around 7:30 and had to wait 30 minutes, which was fine since they have a very nice beer menu. When we sat down there was a bucket of popcorn on the table instead of bread, which was amazing. Our server was very nice and gave good beer recommendations. For dinner we ordered the Spiced and Sliced Yellow Fin Tuna and the More Long than Short Rib. Both were absolutely amazing! Very flavorful! For dessert we ordered the churros and OMG they were SO good. We will definitely be returning here to try the other dished, since everything that came out of the kitchen looks great.

Went here for dinner with a friend a couple of weeks ago...we shared the mahi mahi tacos for an app. I had the Paparadelle of the day and my friend had the dragon roll and maple sweet potato tots. It was SO GOOD! The food was amazing, the service was fantastic, the chef even delivered the entrees! I recommend this place to everyone I talk too!

My girlfriend told me I can't write about good food giving me boners anymore so I have to resort to some other method of conveying my excitement over good food. So check it - foods good. Real good. I had the Sneaky Pete. Loved it. My body loved it. My girlfriend had Dave's Eggs. It made her lady parts quiver. We also ordered for the table French toast with all of these various berries on it. Those made me want to make babies. Lots of them. Our friends got chicken and waffles as well as Morning In the Mission. I didn't sample of Morning in the Mission but I'm told it was spectacular. I liked that they had free coffee. The service was friendly! This place definitely doesn't suck. Over and out.

Returned for Valentine's Day lunch yesterday and had another awesome experience at Left Coast. I got the French Onion Chowder again because it was so great the first time. Delivered to the table still bubbling from the broiler with crispy cheese around the side of the crock just like I like. It's worth mentioning that for a bowl of soup this one is on the large size, had no problem sharing some with my wife although it's so good you really need to love someone to share this! For my entree I tried the Lobster Roll which was HUGE and delicious! Loaded with nice big chunks of lobster and seasoned with Old Bay mayo served on a nicely toasted brioche bun, it was the best Lobster roll I have had. I comes with some nice salty chips and slaw. I had a couple pints of a great brown ale I wish I could remember the name. My wife got the Caesar salad which was good and the crab cake sandwich was again HUGE and delicious. I was glad it was so big because I got to eat a good amount of it and it was really tasty. The crab cake was at least the size of a half pound burger, topped with a phenomenal pesto aioli on a toasted bun with a huge portion of hand cut fries. Service was great and the owner was working hard getting ready for the big V-Day dinner crowd.

I wanted to like this place soooo badly for brunch after everything I've heard and read about it. I don't know if the place was just having a bad day or what, but from the first fifteen minutes of being there, everything went downhill. When we walked in there was no hostess station and another customer pointed out that we had to speak to one of the waitresses walking around in order to get a table. Not a problem since it was the first time there. After talking to her, She was very nice and told us it would be twenty minutes. We decided we should get a drink from the bar. I stood at the bar for ten minutes, making eye contact with the bartender about five times, only to be ignored. I gave up and went back to wait for the table with my boyfriend. When we were sat the hostess came back to ask for our drink orders. We ordered the mimosa kit. After five minutes she came back and said that they needed some time on the mimosa kit because the extra champagne cases were stored under a booth where people were sitting and they needed to wait for them to get up to retrieve them? Okay, considering that my boyfriend and I have both worked in restaurants and bars for years, we knew it didn't make sense since champagne is always refrigerated before serving. We didn't care though and weren't in a rush since this was our first Sunday off of work in months. Once our waitress came over we just placed our food orders hoping the champagne would come out soonish. Twenty minutes after being told the champagne needed to be retrieved from under a booth, we see the hostess walking in the front door with a case of champagne which she brought to the service station of the bar. We see the bartender and a waitress setting up a champagne bottle with a a carafe of orange juice and champagne flutes. Thinking "okay awesome", we were wrong. Not only did this mimosa kit go to another table, it was served to a couple who was sat fifteen minutes after us. We gave it another five minutes and told the waitress we wanted to cancel the bottle and get single mimosas. We weren't going to sit at the table for an extra hour after eating to drink our champagne bottle. Let me add that at this time the bar area had cleared out and only had a few people sitting. Breaking point of this brunch. It has been nearly ten minutes of us waiting for just these two mimosas. The hostess approaches us and says "your mimosa kit should be right out" and we explained that we canceled it after seeing the later seated couple get theirs first. I know it was not her fault and she was very nice the whole time. However we now see the bartender drinking his own mimosa. At this point we're fed up; what does it take to get a drink here. My boyfriend gets up and goes to the bar only for the bartender to automatically say without even being asked for anything "two mimosas right?". Annoyed. So after an hour of being in the restaurant and about forty minutes after ordering drinks at the table, we finally get them without even an apology for the delay. The food didn't help the service at all. My pancakes were burnt completely on one side and barely cooked on the other. I basically just picked out the bananas and called it a day considering we've been ignored completely since we walked in the door. My boyfriends corned beef hash with hollandaise wasn't any better. The scrambled eggs were the best part of the dish. At this point we didn't even care to explain to our waitress what was wrong and just asked for the check. Even worse. As soon as a credit card was placed in the check book, the bartender was quick to come over and offer to close us out. Where were you for the past hour and a half when we tried to order drinks? Like I said I don't know if it was a bad day, but between the hostess, waitress and bartender things were so confused. I'm just sad to say that I spent my first Sunday off in months at a place I had high hopes to love.

Small bar / restaurant with great food. My wife and I have been there for brunch and dinner on several occasions. Make sure that you always ask about the specials. The chefs creations that we have tried are simply amazing. I am not a fan of french onion soup but theirs is a french onion / chowder mix that I can't pass up. We can't wait to go again!

The French Onion Chowder combined two classics that I never considered compatible. Left Coast did it and it was a huge success! The tuna sandwich was excellent. I was a little skeptical that the Asian flavor would work well on white bread. I was pleasantly surprised at how yummy this combination is - the sweet pickled ginger tied together everything in the bun. I'll be right back to try everything else on the menu.

I came here for breakfast Saturday morning with a couple of my girlfriends and the omelettes were really terrific. I had an omelette with caramelized garlic, tomatoes, cheddar and bacon. The omelette is a 6 egg omelette, fluffy, hot and simply delicious. It came with home fries on the side & they were delightfully crispy on the outside & soft & hot on the inside. The coffee was extremely bitter though no matter how much cream or sweetener we put in the coffee & it's a shame because a breakfast place should really have great coffee. We each ordered an omelette & then shared the Mascarpone French Toast with Italian Cherries. The French toast was not what we expected & it was actually quite a let down to be honest. The server was very sweet & did a nice job taking care of us. Overall, a nice experience but won't be rushing back anytime soon. There are plenty of other breakfast places in the area I want to try before a second visit to Left Coast.

Went there for breakfast today with a groupon. The service was awful. The place was not overly crowded and it took 3-4 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge our presence or offer us a seat. I Asked for a booth which was quickly wiped down with a wet, dirty rag as I watched bits of food fly every where. Needless to say my wife sat in some sticky left over pancakes. On to the meal! Drinks and ordering happened pretty quick. For a "cocktail" place the bloody mary was average at best. When our food was brought out we asked for two waters and more coffee. 10 minutes later nothing. My wife got up and asked for our drinks. 10 minutes later, after we were done eating, our waters arrived without any coffee. I had to get up to ask for a check since no one ever came to check on us. Mind you it wasn't overly crowded and their were 5 people working the floor. I think the problem is no one knows what is going on. The person who took our drink orders was not the person who took our food orders or the person who brought us out drinks or our food. The food was greasy and not very good. The corned beef hash was literally served in a bowl full of melted butter. The chicken and waffles lacked flavor and was served with a cup of aunt jemima and a cup of sriracha hot sauce(you can't do better than that?) Both were topped with sunny side eggs, half of which were cooked through. When only scrambled or sunny side eggs are offered how do you over cook them? This was our second breakfast experience. Our first was not as terrible but it was more or less the same. This place isn't nearly as cool, hip or "foodie" as it makes itself out to be. Go somewhere else instead. Salumi in massapequa comes to mind.

We had breakfast there and that was pretty good but dinner was hit or miss. The rib eye meat cut was tough. Paperdelle was good. We were there on Friday night and it was really loud. But what do you expect when we are sitting right next to the bar area. This is a good bar scene if that is what you are looking for. Heard there burgers are really good, but have not tried it.

This place is amazing. I went here with my boyfriend and he loved it too! The owner was our waiter and he couldn't have been any nicer. We walked in and was seated right away. Yes there is no clear spot to wait, but any sensible person would understand that just waiting by the door would get you noticed. The food was amazing. I had the scallops and risotto and my bf had the root beer glazed pork chop. For app we shared the crab and artichoke dip. Everything about this place is awesome!!!! We highly recommend it.

Amazing food!!! And Service is just as good! I have been to Left Coast Kitchen twice, and both times the food and atmosphere were great. First time, i had the LCK burger, which was probably the best cheeseburger ive ever had. instead of one huge patty on a bun, they split the patty and give you two. Perfect if you want to take some home. My girlfriend had the steak frites and she said it was great. The second time we went we shared the mini crab burger appetizer and i had the Not so short short rib. incredible! and the loaded baked potato was a perfect accompaniment. My girlfriend had the pan roasted sea scallops which were also pretty incredible. all in all i recommend this place to everyone looking for a great meal. I will most definitely be returning to LCK very soon!!

My husband and I had dinner last night and it was awesome. He started with the special lobster corn chowder soup and I had the onion chowder. Both were delicious. For dinner he had the braised rib which he said was the best he ever had. I had the crab cake sliders which were very tasty and loaded with crabmeat. Our waiter convinced us to come back for brunch over the weekend and we did! Brunch was delicious. My husband said the corn beef hash was the best he ever ate. I had the biscuits and gravy which were very light and the gravy was outstanding. Will will definitely be coming back!

Went because the menu looked great. Seating was tight but not a big deal. What was a big deal was the hair in the popcorn that they give you as an appetizer. Gross. Started off on the wrong foot. Food was pretty good though. Nothing spectacular but a decent attempt at a new American menu. I might give it another shot.

It took A LOT of convincing for me to come back here after vowing to never, ever step foot in this place again!! My friends kept hounding me to try it again last night and being that I will not be living in Merrick for much longer I figured I would give it one more shot. Glad I did :) Maybe going to this restaurant during the week is the answer to the problem. The service was great, the beers were awesome and the food was AWESOME! I had the seared tuna for dinner and it was cooked to perfection (or barely, since I like to almost raw). Most places when I saw lightly seared, almost raw still give it to me way too cooked. This was PERFECT! Our table started out with the pan roasted edamame. HOLY. CRAP. AMAZING. I will never eat regular edamame again. MmMMMMmmmmm!!! We also had the mahi mahi tacos and those get another HOLY. CRAP. AMAZING. I needed a wheel barrel to remove myself from my seat after, but it was so worth all the eating!

ate there last week, arrived at 930 and were the only patrons in the restaurant. notwithstanding we had to wait 5 minutes to be seated because the waiter was engaged in conversation with the kitchen staff ordered a beer (good ipa) and a french martini. the bartender did not know how to make one so he googled the recipe even then it was like no drink we ever had The burger looked great but was tasteless, the fries were luke warm and the lobster roll was no better

Although I've been here many times, this is my first review of Left Coast. It's definitely a local gem where you will definitely run into people you know, if you live in the area that is. Upon being seated, you are served buttered popcorn which is very tasty & addictive! The menu is eclectic and everything I have sampled is very good, particularly the lobster salad or lobster roll. That alone, is worth the trip!!!! I've had many lobster rolls, out east, Cape Cod..., this is the best ever! The quantity and value is excellent. Desserts are huge, so I would recommend you share. Chocolate brownie is a must for chocolate lovers! The pub can get very noisy on weekends, which makes conversation very difficult. Service is very good, but the hostess on one of my visits was very nasty! I called early in the day to make reservations & was told we don't take reservations, meanwhile they always took reservations. When we arrived at 6:30, I was told it was at least an hour wait because I had no reservations! Needless to say I was angry & complained. Although she did eventually give us a table, she did so with an attitude & some rude remarks! Good thing my love for the lobster salad is greater than my anger, otherwise they definitely would have lost a customer. Next time there is a problem, I will talk to Chris, the owner!

Service was great. The cowboy tacos where deep fried enough to kill a family. The steak on garlic bread was chewy and bread was too buttery. The chips and fries where way over fried. Walking out I felt like having a heart attack. I will however try it again and order less greasy foods

I have been to LCK a number of times and had a great experience, but only in the evening. The service during the day is notably different from the night. On two separate occasions (both a Saturday and a Sunday) the service was surly and inattentive. First time- We were one of TWO tables in the place and were sat directly next to said other table, as well the bathroom, which smelled RIPE. Upon requesting to move, the server was visibly annoyed. She hemmed and hawed for a bit before finally saying she "guessed" we could move two tables down. When we asked for a margarita, we were told there is no bartender during the day and "maybe" she could "figure out how to make one" if we gave her time. It seems odd that on 2pm on a Saturday no bartender was working, but even more bizarre was the offer of maybe making us a drink. We didn't get it, in case you were wondering. The second time I went was a Sunday. We had called to make reservations for brunch and were told they don't take them. My friend pleaded for one, it was her birthday, she said as much. Still the answer was no, which is fine, but when we went in, our party of 7 was told we *should* have made a reservation. (They apparently only take them for large parties. Who knew?) We explained what we were told on the phone and the response wasn't even a sorry. We were told we would need to wait. P.S They have almost nowhere to seat a party of that size, as they are not willing to put tables not on the banquet together, which we found out when 4 different staff members chimed in to tell us no when we suggested it after waiting for 45 minutes. It was only after I got a multitude of different answers ranging from rude ("We aren't going to change around our restaurant for one table") to bizarre ("You guys can sit at two separate tables."- who goes out to eat with people and then sits apart- on their birthday?) that the real issue was disclosed. It interrupts service on account of the size/shape of the dining room. That's very simple, and if they had just said that I would have been fine. It's not the no, it's the way in which it was said. They literally pointed out the table that would need to finish and leave before we were to be sat. A little bit of kindness would have gone a long way, especially given that the wait wasn't due to lack of our planning, rather miscommunication on their staffs part. There were other things, but I think you get the point. I won't be returning.

It's simple, the food is good but it's much too noisy. My group couldn't wait to leave. I would not go back unless it was a quiet week night.

best breakfast and lunch ever. we are here most weekends with our two year old. I have loved everything I've had here and such a comfortable place with a friendly and helpful staff. I have no desire to go anywhere else. I still need to get here to try their wonderful dinner specials!

My family tried this place and my mom called me saying "it's so a "you" place". With a coupon for 25% off the entire bill, my eating PIC and I decided to give it a go. The menu looked a little muddled and flustered but there were a few choice items that peeked my interest. After reading numerous reviews about how packed the place always is, we made reservations for 7:30 (on a Sunday). We were running a little late so we called 45 minutes prior and changed the time to 8:30 (as someone who has been a hostess, this is a must. Be punctual!). We were shocked to see that place DEAD (one guy sitting at the bar). The bartender who turned out to be our waiter and the manager seated us promptly and we knew right away what to order. She asked him about a certain beer and about a dish on the menu and he seemed either (A) not interested or (B) had no clue. My friend, who is a bartender/beer connoisseur, said "have a seat, lets discuss some beers" but he seemed uninterested and kinda of shrugged off the request. He did however have no issue taking a seat to ask where he knew me from (which he didn't, PS) and that led to the discovery that he and my friend had a past job in common and spend 10 minutes complaining about how horrible they were. I would have rather heard about the place we were EATING AT but maybe I'm crazy. Who knows. So here's the breakdown. Decor: Confused. It's like a sports bar made a baby with a trendy restaurant in the city. Take away the sports bar feel and it would be way better and a more appropriate setting to match the menu. Food: We split the Tuna Tower-Sliced Hamachi, Yellowfin Tartare, Avocado, Sweet Black Rice, Jalapeno-Cucumber Salad. The Tuna was spectacular (which is why they are getting 2 stars btw). Freshest fish I've ever had I just wish it was sliced thinner but still, delicious. The only fault was the sweet rice pile on the bottom should have been chopped in half and the jalapeno- cucumber salad doubled. I ordered the Chile-Root Beer Glazed Pork Chops and I believe it had Berkshire pork belly on the side. Sadly the pork was dry and the glaze was a little under flavored. My PIC ordered the Sautéed Sea Scallops- Wild Mushroom Risotto and Truffle Essence. Four scallops, all burnt on top and on the verge of being chewy. The risotto, though tasty, had enough oil in it to make at least 3 more plates. Needless to say, her stomach was not feeling the best the next morning. I may possibly go back as I've been told they're better than what I experienced on busy nights. I'd like to think that if there's only one table to serve, shouldn't the food be flawless?

I was pretty disappointed with my dining experience here are Left Coast Kitchen. I'm really surprised that it received a 5 star rating (which I think contributed to my disappointment). From start to finish there were little things that really bothered me. I guess I'll start from the beginning. 1. There is no hostess podium/desk so when I arrived I just stood in the small entryway looking like an idiot since I wasn't sure if it was a seat yourself kind of a place or if someone would appear and bring me to a table. (FYI it's not a seat yourself kind of a place, someone eventually came over) 2. I got there with the BF at 6:25pm on a Sunday night. I know that it was exactly 6:25pm since I looked at my phone to check in on Foursquare (hehehe, nerd!). The place was about 1/3 full and when our waiter came over to seat us. He asked if I had made reservations. I told him no and he looked worried. He then said that he thought it would be ok. He sat us at a booth which was nice because we were still waiting for a friend of ours to arrive. I'm going to momentarily jump ahead in time to let you know that the restaurant never got to 1/2 way full. I think it was ok that we didn't call ahead. 3. The food descriptions were totally misleading. We got the mussels to share and it was not what I had expected. I was really excited about the Eggs Benedict style steamed mussels but it was not how I thought it should have been done. First of all, I expected the broth to be a bit more creamy. It was not reminiscent of hollandaise sauce at all and would have been better if there was a touch of cream in it. Second, the poached egg was cooked all the way through. I don't know if this was done on purpose. The chef may have been afraid that a runny yolk would have been lost in the broth but I think it would have added some nice body to the dish. And really, aside from me who is a known glutton, who wants to eat solid chunks of egg yolk anyway? The english muffin on top was cute in keeping with the eggs benedict theme but it really should have been toasted a lot more. I ordered the root beer glazed pork which was good but not mind blowing like the previous reviews had me believing. What really bothered me was the side that it was served with. The description said creamed corn but what I got was grits. There was nothing wrong with the grits but please, call it what it is. What if I didn't like grits? What if I had my heart set on creamed corn? Again, was this done deliberately? Did the chef think describing grits as creamy corn (which i suppose is half true) would be funny and/or cute? Or did the kitchen run out of creamed corn and decide to replace it with grits? If that was the case, the waiter should have told me. If not, the menu was misleading. 4. Although we all agreed that the food was tasty, it was not prepared correctly. I suppose this kind of goes with point 3 but that section was getting a little long, lol. The BF got scallops (done very nicely) with mushroom risotto. The risotto was not creamy nor did it spread all over his plate like we all learned it should (thanks Top Chef!). My friend ordered the tuna two way salad. She reported that the raw tuna was good however the "poached" tuna may have been poached at some point however it would have been more accurate to call it tuna salad since it was a mushy, mayo based, gray pile on her salad. She said it tasted good however it was not a piece of poached tuna. 5. The TV was set to a channel where they were showing a special on surgery for some boy with massive tumors on his head/face. Totally gross and not at all ok for a restaurant. 6. I was very excited that the other reviewers said that the chef came out and introduced himself to all of the diners. I love it when the chef/owner comes out for a chat. Well, the chef did come out with the food for the table behind us. He did greet another family at the door and chat with them for a while. Mind you he was doing this next to my table and while I was paying the bill. My boyfriend could have reached out an touched him, that's how close he was and he never even looked at our table. COMPLETELY IGNORED US!!! RUDE!!! I would think that a chef that takes the time to come out of the kitchen to greet his patrons would ask us how our meals were since he could SEE that we had just finished eating. I'm not sure what that was all about but I felt really insulted. Like if you aren't a regular, then f-you! Needless to say, I will not be coming back here. Side note, for some reason every time I eat in Merrick I have an experience on par with this one. I'm not sure if that's the way you people in Merrick treat "outsiders" but I really don't think I'm going to be going to any restaurants in Merrick unless I have a really good reason to do so.

Merrick needs more left coast. Great atmosphere and the beers are fantastic. I repeat, "the beers are fantastic". Food was cool and good. Had the duck confit pizza. Other menu items looked appetizing too and everything was presented well. My wife and sister in law likes their dishes but weren't blown away. My 1 year old son loved the popcorn. Did i mention the beers were fantastic. Great, personable wait staff too. Will certainly go back.

It's completly refreshing to see that there are more and more restaurants NOT playing "follow the leader" here on Long Island. I have been saying for years that there aren't enough creative, unique and fun restaurants around here. That time has finally come. I really don't know where to start, so I guess I will start at the beginning. A chef friend of mine suggested Left Coast KItchen. He said the food was really good, and the pricing wasn't bad either. From the minute we set foot inside what appears to be a converted bar we started to get the sense of something more. Tin ceiling panels and a long bar set the tone. I didn't care much for the juke box on the wall, but it does seem to fit the decor. That being said it was pretty much my only negative point. After our friends arrived we were seated at a large square table almost center stage just past the bar and in the very beginning of the smallish diningroom. I like smaller places when I go out. They make you feel cozy, but yet we weren't cramped. Our waiter Chris was lively and very pleasant explaining the menu and always seemed to have a smile on his face. I ordered the "oyster chowder" which wasn't a soup, but a play on words. My appetizer wasn't very small at all, but sized just right. It was a half dozen crispy fried oysters with a corn salsa and "frizzled potatoes." It was perfect. The "More long than short ribs" came bone on, but no knife was needed and the "fried loaded baked potato" was a great addition. Dessert was a cross between a slice of cheese cake and a donut. It was really good, but a little too much for me after such a great meal. I recommend this hopping neighborhood eatery to one and all and am not out of line by saying it is one of Long Islands premier restaurants. You should go...I know I will (again and again.)

Drove in from NJ for my sister's surprise bday party here on a Friday night. Very crowded and noisy, but the drinks were very good, the Greek accented appetizers were excellent, especially the sliders, and the service was fast and attentive. I was very impressed, and look forward to returning.

Been there three times and have to say really dig the place. Interesting food thats well prepared. The waiters and owner are all fun , chatty folks which lends to the atmosphere which is definitely a loudish part atmosphere. I have to say that it is crowded and if your tables are very close to the others so be prepared to chat with others...not usually my thing but it hasnt bothered me really. The place does get a very crowded..especially Friday/Sat nights. Even with a reservation ( why take them ) But if you want a fun place with really cool food and a loud atmosphere..check it out. Its a good time.

I must have driven past this place a 100 times and when my friend suggested we come here for brunch, I could not even fathom where it was. Located next to the old Max & Gino's space (for all of you old school Merrickoians), the space is a cross between a bar and a restaurant, but does not give off your average pub vibe. Actually found the place a little out of character for Merrick, almost more of a Brooklyn vibe. The brunch was great, with tons of creative options. We ordered the mimosa kit for the table, which was a steal (a bottle of champs and carafe of OJ)! I ordered Dave's Eggs, which were probably the best eggs I've ever had - scrambled eggs, with cheese, chives and corn. Corn??? I know a very strange ingredient for breakfast, but it was sweet, delicious and provided a surprising element of crunch to the eggs. The service was very attentive and the coffee free. Cheap, in my home town, free coffee for feed my caffiene addiction, cheap booze and great service...how could you not want to come back!

Went to left coast last Tuesday with the wife. We found the place on a recommendation from a chef friend of mine. When we arrived the tables were full except for one. It was smack in the middle of a small dining room we decided to sit at the bar. My wife ordered a Grey goose and cranberry and I ordered a craft beer on tap both pretty good. I ordered the colossal shrimp cocktail and wifey ordered the crab cake slider. Shrimp were anything but colossal and crab cake sliders rolls were hard. Crab cake was good the relish that accompanied the sliders was quite good. The quality of crab cake was not jumbo lump but OK. Onto the entrees we ordered the strip steak entree and the pork chop and pork belly entree. Both entrees were good. The chef owner was bringing out the entrees. There seemed to be enough help not sure why he was doing that. My only tip he is trying to do some ambitious things. Some items have almost to much going on a lot of different flavors and textures. In this case less would be more. All in all I would give it another try.

went for brunch looking for something a little different.we were a party of 10 and had to make reservations as we were shut out before but they did give a coupon which we thought was nice.i like the clean bathrooms, general ambiance for the price, food not bad, spice plants in front window.don't like pushing 6 eggs on people as if this is a plus especially if not notated as organic -free range.quality not quantitiy so i would like more as the beers etc more artisanal food sources and attributes. you have to respect your food sources as well as the fine liquids you purvey-ca. is the largest organic source but find some locals who you can help.

I was totally thrilled with my dining experience here at Left Coast Kitchen. (5 STARS is an understatement). I completely understand why most diners give it a 5 star rating (which I think is consistent with the experience I had). From start to finish there were many little things that really delighted me. I guess I'll start from the beginning. 1. There is no hostess podium / desk. The entrance to the combination bar and restaurant makes for an inviting and adventurous feel and gave us a chance to look around and wander through the bar area before being approached by staff. Very nice and casual feel. 2. I got there with the wife at 7:15pm on a Thursday night. The place was about 1/2 full and when our waiter came over to seat us he asked where we would prefer to be seated and if we had been in before. (Dining room not bar please, and no - first time). I am glad we dropped in. 3. The food descriptions were totally accurate. I got the mussels as an entree and it was exactly what I had expected. I was really excited about the eggs benedict style steamed mussels and it was sensational. It had a hollandaise sauce taste with a hint of cream in it (not too much to obscure the flavor of the mussels). The poached egg (a novel addition to mussels) was cooked perfectly. The english muffin on top was also in keeping with the eggs benedict theme and it was soft enough to absorb some of the broth. I also had string beans which were very tasty and fresh. 4. My wife had the Asian 2 Tuna salad. Although I enjoyed the mussels, I was envious of her salad and will probably order it when there next (probably this weekend). Desserts were sensational (go and see for yourself). We agreed that the food was not just tasty, but superbly designed and meticulously executed on all points. Mussels done properly, fresh, sauce excellent, salad pleasing to see as well as to eat, tuna superb both as a poached salad and seared atop the salad. The waiter offered to do all of the tuna either way, but I am glad my wife tried both as they were both terrific. 5. I was very excited to meet and speak with the chef. He tries to meet as many diners as possible and actually delivered many of the plates himself (a VERY NICE touch). The kitchen is open to the dining room and the chef is able to see and speak with patrons while supervising the kitchen staff. This is a very cool modern type of place and I will be returning soon (and often). Side note, I have the opportunity to eat in any restaurant my little heart desires. As a resident of Merrick I am glad there is now another top notch quality option for good food at reasonable prices with unique and tasty dishes ready to try right here in my neighborhood. But the truth is, I WOULD GO FAR OUT OF MY WAY for an experience as good as this one. Sorry to be so wordy, but Christine from Levittown pissed me off (and she was totally WRONG to boot). I have been there several times and always love it! The food is fabulous with a very interesting menu. The chef personally comes around to serve the dishes and he is warm and friendly and you can tell he loves what he does. The mussels are excellent and the steak mac and cheese is amazing! The place itself has a great vibe and we always leave there happy. The only downside is that there is only one server that is great....Not sure of his name, but he has tons of tatttoos and knows alot about beer and food! he's really friendly. The others have never been nearly as good as he is....so try to get his table! They also offer a lot of groupons which is very nice too!

The first time my husband and I came here for dinner it was really good. The portions were huge and the servers were very nice. We went back to try breakfast and we enjoyed that as well. We went back after a couple of months and they cut the portions in half.....literally. We called our server over to order more drinks and he slumped his shoulders and came over rolling his eyes. They also asked us to leave because they said they needed our table. The worst part of that was that we brought some friends and while the girls were waiting for the guys to come back in from having a smoke, the hostess (owner) went outside and told the guys that the girls said they didn't want dessert. When the guys came back to the table they said they were ready to go. When we asked why they didn't want dessert they said we are the ones that don't want dessert. We then told them that nobody asked us if we wanted dessert. I could not believe that. I have never been to any type of restaurant were I was asked to leave for my table....no matter how busy they were.

We ate there the other night and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Four in our party we really tried the a bunch of stuff from the menu. The Burger was excellent, tasty and juicy. The salads were crisp cold and served with generous portions, we tried the Waldorf. Finally the scallops, did we save the best for last, yes we did, they were cooked to perfection. Side dishes we tried included the Mac and Cheese and the sweet potato tots, here is where a little improvement could be made to make a very very good dish fantastic. The Mac and cheese needs a bit of a kick its just a bit bland and the sweet potato tots just the opposite, a bit less maple syrup and they would be perfect. We will be back, he lobster roll looks to tempting not to try

Lobster Roll was beyond salty. French Onion Soup was excellent. Food came out quick. As the bus boy was taking away the dishes, the broth from one of the entrees spilled on me. No apologies. No follow up. Didn't care other than I am sorry. Local people say its good. Did not get that wow factor here. I guess its better than eating at the East Bay Diner.

This place is excellent. The beer list is great. Try the Delerium. Appetizers are creative. I especially enjoyed the French Onion Chowder. Best of both worlds. The root beer glazed pork porterhouse is insanely good. Had the Paperdelle w/ 5 sausage ragu and found it to have the right balance of spiciness, nutiness, and sausaginess. The kids meals are inexpensive and fresh. Chef owner takes pride in his creations and it shows.

My first time at left coast kitchen was a total let down, but with the encouragement of a friend I went back - and thank god i did! I loved the food - I got Asian spicy noodles and tuna tartar (the only really asian inspired food on the menu.. guess i was in the mood) and they were both delicious. The tuna tartar was one of the best I've had anywhere. The presentation of the food was wonderful and made everything look very appetizing. But really the star of everything is the cocktail menu, originally when they opened they didn't have a cocktail menu and i was really pissed but now the menu is delicious and very extensive. I had a pomegranate champagne type cocktail which was one of the best cocktails I've had on the island. My boyfriend was so in love with the cocktails he ordered about 4, all of which he loved. Overall this place was a great experience and will be a place I eat at again. The brunch menu looks amazing and will be something I check out!

A great place to go to after a day at the beach. Great burgers, fries, awesome veggie side dishes, full bar, great staff, creative bistro menu much like our neighborhood places in Brooklyn.

I have been here twice in the last few months, and am not happy with the place. The first time I ordered the lobster roll. I was looking forward to a nice cold refreshing lobster roll. It was not. It was dry and had no good flavor. I ended up taking it home. I could not see wasting the lobster, so I rinsed it off and started over..putting real mayo, and diced celery in it. It was a lot better but a bit tough...overcooked lobster. Last night I gave it another shot. I called the restaurant at lunchtime and was told that happy hour was from 5-8 p.m. We arrived at 7 and the bartender refused us happy hour drink specials because he stated it was over at 7 and it was now 7:02! That wasn't a great way to start off, considering I did call them to check and was told the wrong info. After that we were seated, and told the waiter of this, and he didn't respond. He simply asked if we now wanted a drink. We got over that, and ordered food. I ordered the open face steak sandwhich, which was supposed to come on garlic bread with melted mozzerella. It arrived and the bread was burnt all the way around. Not just overdone--burnt, black. So I trimmed one burnt end off and took a bite of a part from the middle where it wasn't burnt. There was no garlic on the bread, and the steak, although cooked to the correct temp that I had ordered, tasted like it was off, and on the verge of spoiled. When the waiter asked how my meal was, I explained my complaints, and again, no apologies, nothing. He really didn't appear to care. He walked away. When he saw that my friend was done eating, he asked if I wanted to take mine home. I said," no thanks, it's really not good." He never offered to see if I wanted to replace it with something else. Just took it away. He did remove the item from the check and gave my friend a complimentary coffee. But his attitude was almost worse than the food. My guess is he gets the same complaints all of the time, and really cannot deal with it. That's my guess. I am not going to give them a chance for a stike #3. I am never walking foot in there again. Even if they offered me free food and drinks. I am not doing it! Good luck if you go. My friend did like the mac and cheese when she went on a different occassion.

Just to start, I NEVER complain about a dining experience...usually I am just happy to get out. With that said, I went to dinner with 4 friends, we ordered apps, salads, dinner dessert and drinks. The food was mediocre at best. At 9:37 we signed our bill and were saying good bye. ( we sat to eat at 8). At 9:33 the hostes comes over to tell us that we need to leave because there are people waiting for the table. We asked to speak to the manager, who started to apologize, then began getting angry at us...telling us he was trying to make it better but we weren't " letting it go". I could not believe this happened, and will never eat there again. So sad being that I live so close and my husband and I love to support local businesses. If the manager handled it different, I may have given the place another shot, but now I will not only never go back, but I will do all I can to talk anyone out of going there.
