Wow, excellent deal! Free beer & sake with all you can eat on Mondays, Free sake & 2 for 1 beers on Tuesday, free sake on Wednesday and Thursday. All the non weekend days have a great deal. Sushi is fresh and tasty! Love the salmon egg w/ quail egg. Unagi, and Salmon skin handrolls.

Definitely the worst sushi in town. The nigiri was 90% rice, and 10% fish--which was FAR from fresh. We got decent service from the Asian woman, until she left us with some grumpy waiter. We understood that we would be charged for un-finished food, but at this point, I would have paid the guy an extra $10 (as opposed to the $5 he charged us) if he would have taken the food away sooner.

Sushi Rose is a damn fine establishment. Great fish. Free booze. C'mon. The service is the friggin best.
(4)No N.
Sushi Rose is awesome. Their waitstaff is on it !!! Ill be coming here for as long as I live in Northwest Reno.
(5)Giana S.
The sushi is amazing; however, the service is slow, unorganized and honestly ruins the experience. They don't treat you as well if you don't order all you can eat and honestly it seems like no one is too concerned with giving the customer a good experience.
(3)Nicole K.
Best sushi in town hands down five stars, this is the best little hidden gem, here in Reno. Love the fresh, diverse fish.
(5)Doug H.
I've been to (what seems like) every sushi joint in town. This one happens to be about a mile from home so the boys and I walked down one Friday night. Sushi Rose is your typical Reno sushi joint. Mostly cooked long rolls come out fast and mostly fresh. The sashimi was nice - nothing special, but nice. As a matter of fact, each roll we had, and the teenagers and go through some rolls, was nice. I was hopeful for something spectacular, but it just didn't materialize. The service was fast and friendly, but nothing special. Same goes for the decor - just okay. I'll be back I'm sure as it is so close, but it's not on the top of my list.
(3)Darin W.
Great specials and free beer and sake almost all nights of the week. Great sushi and a regular spot for myself.
(5)Natalie W.
Service was great, which is what I gave the one star for. I got really sick from eating the tuna sashimi here. Upon looking at the menu, I noticed there was barely any actual fish on the menu. The majority of the rolls consist of fried shrimp and cream cheese. if there is fish listed, it's listed as "assorted fish" which sounded mysterious, so I couldn't choose a roll to order. I went with the sashimi combo, and right after I ordered it I saw boxes labeled "frozen tuna steak" on the floor behind the kitchen curtain (yuck!!!). Sure enough, the tuna tasted fishy and was still frozen in the middle. I took one bite and left the rest, and I was violently ill for the rest of the day. I do not recommend this place, and I am completely puzzled as to why it has such great reviews. I suppose free beer and sake is enough to make up for the bad food for some folks, but not for me.
(1)Barb H.
We love Monday night at Sushi Rose. Ask about the secret menu. Staff is friendly and attentive.
(4)Zen B.
Good service good food!! Free beer and sake on mondays!! Free sushi on ur birthday too
(5)Yelpy M.
This place is delicious. The weekly deals are awesome and you can't beat the price! Two thumbs up, five stars, and it shits on Qdoba.
(5)Macy C.
I went with a couple friends of mine after school (college kids not doing homework). When we sat down, we looked over the menu. Me and my friend started laughing because of the technical errors they had on the menu and an employee overheard us. He then pointed out a few more errors and started joking and we all laughed together. The employees are very friendly! Great customer service! The only thing that I have to be critical about was when I ordered fried sushi, it took ages to get. But the wait was worth it because it tasted bomb. And they only give limited muscles which I was a little disappointed about but it's alright because the sushi was great. I also like how they have stamp cards, very smart business scheme. And I'll definitely go back for free sushi on my birthday!
(4)Blake N.
This place has gone downhill fast. It starts off when you walk in and the smell hits you. DIRTY. I was with friends and got talked into staying regardless. We sat at the bar and three sushi chefs were working. Only about a dozen customers in the place. The chefs just straight out ignored us as we sat right in front of them. 17 minutes to get out ginger/Wasabi plates, and then just a smile and walked away. Like after that amount of time we need to look at the menu longer. Finally got to order. The Sushi was prepaird quickly and correctly. However, the fish was not even close to fresh. It was ok at best. All in all its a dive that gives away free Saki and beer to get customers. If your on a budget and want cheap booze, this is your spot. If you want to enjoy a clean resturant and good Sushi you have a ton of other options.
(2)Alexis K.
Free Sushi on your birthday. Took my son there when he turned 13. (Brought Birth Certificate and school ID) Is this the best sushi ever? No. However, I think it's tasty and the hot and sour "house special" soup was tasty to start with. Super friendly waitstaff. I will be back!
(4)Bubba H.
I have been coming here for years. The servers know me by name and are very friendly. They always know 'My table' and it's definitely my original spot to relax and cure that hangover. With free beer Mondays and free sake Monday through Thursday you can not go wrong. Thank you sushi rose. -Craig Horton
(5)Samantha P.
This has probably become one of my favorite sushi places. The staff is friendly and always willing to help out and assist you. The atmosphere is one of the most pleasurable I've experienced. One of my favorite features is free sushi on your birthday! I can't think of another sushi place that does that! They also offer a stamp card. After ten all you can wats, you get half off!
(5)Richard H.
I've been a regular here for almost a year. The sushi here is very good and they offer free sake Monday through Thursday. Even better, the wait staff is on it and always have sushi for you as you order it.
(5)Hannah N.
If you love crystal or tempura shrimp and cream cheese in your sushi rolls, Sushi Rose is the place for you. Unfortunately if you're like me and these aren't your favorite ingredients, you only have about 5 rolls to choose from that contain have them. I was also surprised after ordering a yakitan to receive what was more of a cream cheese filled wonton served with sweet and sour sauce like you'd expect from a Chinese restaurant rather than the yakitans I've had at other sushi restaurants. They have some sort of special almost every night, the most popular one being Monday's free small sake or beer with the purchase of any all you can eat. So, if you are looking for a deal and don't mind a lot of fries sushi, this is the place for you. If you enjoy more versatile flavor combinations and raw sushi, I'd try somewhere else.
(3)Jimmy S.
This place is unreal! An amazing scene with unbelievable deals and servers that take amazing care of you! Can't believe I'm this lucky to have this place close to me!!
(5)Kathryn P.
Sushi Rose is by far my favorite sushi restaurant in town. Their wait staff and sushi chefs are super friendly and we always leave happy. I love the sushi options and if you want special orders, it is never a problem. I recommend you special order the Jalapeño Poppers under the nigiri section, they're a secret and they're super good.
(5)Julie L.
Eh. Waiter was friendly, rolls were meh. They're really skimpy on the fish. And why does half of the menu have cream cheese in it? None of the rolls really stood out to me...will not be coming back.
(2)Katie P.
I am really impressed with Sushi Rose. I've been before and service and quality were lacking, but not today. When my friend and I walked in we were instantly greeted by several people, the host and two people behind the bar. The host asked where we would like to sit, which was nice. It seems they have extended their restaurant, as there was a larger back room. We chose the back room, which usually is a poor choice as you can be forgotten, but luckily this was not the case. I was extremely pleasantly surprised to find that their lunch AYCE was only $14.95! Appetizer, all the sushi I can stuff in my gob, and a bowl of green tea ice cream to top it all off for under $20?! SOLD. The service was on point. We were brought drinks and refills in a timely manner and despite the busy lunch hour, our rolls came quickly. The fish was fresh and the rolls were not overcompensated with rice, just quality fish, avocado, cream cheese, (is it bad that despite my sushi coma, I am already drooling all over my iPad as I type?) basically it was just really good. Before leaving our server explained their punch card to us, which is just amazing. The fact I can work towards free sushi sounds pretty heavenly to me! On top of that, you can eat for free on your birthday. I am super excited to start filling up my sushi punch card *two thumbs up*!
(4)Susan P.
Today, Sushi Rose just lost a loyal customer. I've been going for years and never had any issues until today I noticed their fish was crawling with shit. I ate a roll before I noticed. Everything tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. They refused to let me leave without paying for their shit fish and they were very rude about it. If this is how they treat their loyal customers, I won't be going back. I warn everyone else who eats there, eat at your own risk.
(1)Ryan B.
Atmosphere is good, always busy and always a good time. Great sushi. The servers are all super friendly, and let us know about all the perks offered. Great drink specials and overall fantastic experience!
(5)Truc L.
The sushi was pretty bad it made my wife go to the restroom to throw up. The staff was a bit rude. It was so bad that we were willing to let them charge us extra for not finishing all of the "sushi". The nigiri was just clumps of hard bland rice with a thin slice of fish in top. Unfortunately we will not be returning to this establishment, hopefully your experience will be better than ours.
(1)Jessica D.
It didn't suck. I'd say the service was lacking and the sushi wasn't horrible, but it wasn't nearly the best. Not even Top 5. The Italian décor threw me for a loop too. It took a few minutes to get our drink order in and saw the waiter only couple times. I don't think the guy even smirked, much less smiled.
(3)Christian A.
Best sushi by far in town. Small rolls so you're able to order more. Never a wait to be seated. Rolls made super fast and super nice. And the best part it's cheaper than some of the other places. Rice is always warm and fresh and service is friendly.
(5)Lucas M.
Monday nights are pretty good at the Sushi Rose. $21 American for all you can eat sushi and all you can drink beer and sake. The beer is kind of warm and they might not bring you exactly what you ordered for sushi but there's no cheaper price south of Vancouver. Bad news is it closes at nine and you are made unwelcome shortly thereafter. But go, it's great.
(5)Michele H.
The service was amazing! The sushi chief was not attentive. But I will be coming back because their sushi was fresh and delicious. I loved the drink specials they have. Riley was my favorite server, he was very attentive to my friend and I. He was very attentive. Would recommend! THANK YOU!!!
(5)Willie K.
Such a great environment with a friendly staff. Not too busy and the food comes out fast. Oh and the sake is plentiful.
(5)Cody T.
Let's cut to the chase and get down to the needy greedy. The sushi here isn't bad for the price. You guys like to go to town on the sushi like it's a all night Buffett on a Thursday night. The handrolls are the means and greens of this place. When the mouth meets the fish, greens, rice, soy sauce. The mixture of all of that swirling inside your mouth is a dream of being with Katy perry all night. Great place to eat :)
(4)Andrea L.
A real dump. Be cautious of the rotten sushi and unfriendly staff. Normally, I do not write reviews, but I felt it necessary to record my experience. The food was gross, the restaurant was run down, and I felt rushed out by the waiter. I sat at the bar and ordered AYCE during a slower than average lunch service. I ordered the mussels appetizer, along with the Arizona and Why Not rolls. The fish tasted off to me. I couldn't help but feel that the fish seemed rotten. (If I get food poisoning from this lunch, I will update this review.) To top it off, I asked for the "Chocolate chip cookie dough" dessert. Well, cookie dough, it is not. It was rock hard vanilla ice cream that had been scooped earlier and stuck in the freezer. I'm really baffled at all of the great reviews of this place. I wish I could give this place a big zero. In my opinion, it's a dump. If you're looking for fresh sushi and friendly service in the northwest, go to Sakana instead.
(1)Loralee R.
As picky as I am I must say I can't say enough good things about sushi rose! I am allergic to seaweed and they always have soy wrap ready for me with no questions asked. The services is outstanding, they even know us by name. I would highly recommend Sushi Rose for all your sushi cravings.
(5)Karen G.
At first was kinda iffy since it was a hole in the wall kinda place but was immediately turned around! Service was amazing! We were seated right away with a choice of table or bar. Our waiter was awesome and our chefs were fast and our sushi was delicious. I highly recommend! The inside was very roomy too!
(5)Tracy K.
Not only did I win two free dinners at my favorite restaurant, but I'm sharing with my boyfriend that I met here!!! Place to be!!!!!
(5)Brian G.
Great sushi in NW Reno. The fish is always consistent and the deals on beer and sake are great. Highly recommended!
(5)Donavan R.
We have been coming to this restaurant since they opened. We have made friends with the owners as well as many of the servers. They know many of my standard order habits and bring them to the table before I even have to ask. My family eat here or lunch or dinner at least 4 times a month. Come check them out
(5)Nicole C.
We love this place. Everything is always soooo good and its conveniently right next to our house. My favorite is the Romeo & Juliet and my fiance's is the Mountain. I also love the Mariner & the mussels! The only thing I would suggest not ordering is the shrimp balls. We both spit them out because we couldn't even swallow them. Disgusting! Also, I ordered the spider and it tasted like they used old ingredients/soft shell crab. This time they took a while on some of our rolls and forgot our shrimp balls. We had to ask again. Maybe that was a sign lol and we had to ask for a refill on our drinks. Even though it wasn't the best experience this time. We still will go back because for the most part its good. Don't forget the fried banana or green tea ice cream though. Very yummy!
(3)Ashley H.
Went here tonight with some friends. Service was pretty good and the sushi was okay. I ordered three cooked rolls, miso soup and salad. Would've given 3-4 stars, except for the fact that I've now got food poisoning....
(2)Emily K.
I came here for lunch and we ordered some rolls and a terriyaki chicken plate. The food was great! BUT we ordered a veggie tempura roll, and they forgot it. We reminded them and asked when it would be coming up. I then saw the waiters and waitress arguing over who was supposed to put the order in! Very unprofessional. We waited 10 minutes for the forgotten roll. The WORST part of dining here, was when the waiter asked if we wanted a to go box, he TOUCHED OUR FOOD. No. NOT ACCEPTABLE. One star for the service. An additional star for the food because it was still good.
(2)Andy D.
More fish, less rice, Fresh seafood! Fast service, free on your Birthday... What else would you wish for? My most visited Sushi Bar in town... Do not believe bad reviews, see for yourself, this is why it is packed during lunch and dinner
(5)Victoria L.
This place has delicious sushi with great specials. The Mariner & Romeo & Juliet & mussels are my favorites. As of this date, Mondays are free beer and warm sake day; Tuesdays are free sake or buy one beer, get 2nd one free; Wednesday & Thursday are free warm sake days. If you come in on your birthday with your ID - the sushi is free!
(5)Jennifer B.
3 1/2 Good deal for sushi in reno. Not the most creative rolls, or the freshest in Reno but not bad by any means. I live nearby so it is a good place to go when I don't feel like going to far. They should also cut back on the rice they put with their nigri, always too much!
(4)Jen H.
Good price for sushi, service was ok, and way more rice than any other all you can eat place in reno
(3)Anonymous R.
some of the best sushi in town!! i had a 13 person birthday dinner and they took care of all of us. this place is my go-to spot and its right down the street from my house which makes it better for me ;)
(5)Sterling T.
Typically this is my spot for sushi in Reno. Cheap, fast, and pretty decent rolls. However, last night the service was horrible! I asked for a diet coke and it took 25 minutes to get one. Then when I wanted a refill, the server filled it with water. Finally, I understand they were busy but it took about 45 minutes to receive the rolls and appetizers we had ordered. The people that came after us received their food and finished before we received our first plate. My friend came here two weeks ago and experienced the same thing. Hopefully, it was a bad night and the service is better next time I go again. The sushi is not the best in the world but it is pretty decent. I love the Jason's and Mickey Mouse hand roll. The rose two is probably my favorite long roll. The appetizers are not bad, but I would stay away from the shrimp balls.
(3)Rose T.
Terrible service!! Sushi is soggy and it takes over an hour to even get your order!!! How this got so many stars is beyond me!
(1)B B.
Overpriced. Small rolls. Large rice to fish ratio. Bad quality sushi. ... but at least there's free alcohol with AYCE?
(1)Erin J.
I'm giving it a 3 because the food was really good but the service was below par. I've been here a couple of times and it has always been "okay". My water was never refilled, and we had to damn near flag the woman down to even place an order at the bar. I felt like one of those runway Tarmac workers trying to direct a plane. It took me almost 10 minutes to even get anyone's attention to get our check and when he asked how we wanted the check I said split and he still only gave us one as he threw it at us. Not overly impressed but it's cheap all you can eat, good food, 'eh' service. You get what you pay for.
(3)Irina K.
It was super busy and we had great service immediately. A server named Riley took awesome care of us even though he was running around making everyone else feel welcome at the same time. Sushi was amazing and the cooks are great! Suggest everyone to come here!
(5)Terri K.
The food tastes good, but looks like shit. They keep messing up our orders, have told is to put our dirty dishes on the table next to us... and not cleared them at all. Nope, I will NOT be coming back to this place again!
(1)Diane N.
The food wasn't very good and the service was horrible. The waiter seemed more interested in watching the bloopers on TV than taking our order, or refilling our drinks. 18% gratuity that was automatically factored in was like a slap in the face for such poor service.
(1)Amanda G.
Sushi was good, service was good, price was good. They have some great drink specials(like a hot saki included with an AYCE Monday-Thursday!), but wasn't thrilled on their roll selection. Nigiri was great, and although it's not my first AYCE choice, I'm sure I will be back for another visit :)
(4)Sophie M.
My husband and I found this little hole in the wall on a whim 2 years ago. What a wonderful surprise! Always friendly and accommodating; Sushi Rose is by far the best Sushi in town. My husband is a fan of the fried rolls. The Reno and Mama Mia are two of his favorites. As for me I usually go for something lighter such as nigiri which Is always fresh and never fishy tasting. For the non- sushi lover or vegetarian there are plenty of other options such as pot stickers or veggie tempura rolls. You can even ask for their Chinese food menu (which is their sister restaurant right next door). Sushi rose will accommodate large groups, but I do recommend calling just to give them a heads up. This little hole in the wall has gone from unknown to a hopping joint!
(5)Sarah R.
So let me start by saying we do not do the "all you can drink days" and aren't one to review for discounts, we pay full price and have no issue doing so here. I enjoy the fact the rolls are cut smaller than at Sushi Pier 2. It's AYCE so order more and you don't have to choke on a giant roll of just rice and seaweed. Drew kills the nigiri and the boys love the Reno roll. They ate 4 of that roll alone! Last two times we've been here they forgot my seaweed salad :( but really that's kinda minor, all our rolls and fish were right. Our most recent experience was slightly lacking than our previous ones. We got there at 915 and they close at 930. While they were friendly and willing to service us we definitely got the "it's 940 time to GTFO" even though we weren't the last table. I've never experienced the place full of drunk college kids and the chef has always been friendly and welcoming (except for being the last people seated in the restaurant!) Red roll, Reno, upside down shrimp, smoked salmon and unagi nigiri are so good. Great place for nw Reno!
(4)Katherine L.
For such an unsuspecting location, this was actually rather excellent! They were quite fast with whipping out the rolls and staff was very friendly. All the rolls with avocado were delicious, mussels were great, and their green tea ice cream was incredibly satisfying after eating enough to basically have a small reef in my stomach!
(4)Mahdina E.
This place is a lot bigger than expected. The sushi is pretty good only 20 bucks for all you can eat for dinner. Overall excited to come back with my husband
(5)Ryan M.
Best sushi in Reno! Definitely check it out on a Monday or Tuesday for sweet beer and sake deals.
(5)Kylie C.
Very fresh fish. Yummy rolls, great deals for people on yelp. Got a free beer just for checking in :) I love the titanic roll with crab instead of shrimp. Mickey mouse hand roll was different but very tasty. The price is great, a little cheaper than the others. $14.95 for lunch and $20.95 for dinner :)
(4)Marisa D.
This is my go to place for sushi! The food is good! Good price! & I love the staff!
(4)Pablo C.
Very cool place and really good sushi!!! Service was great and we had a really good time !!!! Definitely going back there next time I'm visiting Reno
(4)Demitri B.
So far the best the best sushi I have had in Reno! Great service and the service is flawless. They are usually good about getting your food to you quick also.
(5)Kenneth M.
Been eating AYCE for 4 days straight at a different place each day. This was the worst. -sloppy rolls -fish I had to spit out -good service -poor fish cuts There is better AYCE around.
(2)Kathy B.
I love Sushi Rose! They are always friendly and helpful and the sushi is wonderful. We had lunch after a work event and it was wonderful.
(5)Kathy N.
I had a food baby in my stomach after leaving this place. My suggestion is to get the buffet option. Two good rolls & an appetizer is already going to cost you about $15, so might as well spend another $5 and stuff yourself silly! I came in a group of six and we ordered many rolls and many appetizers. I don't even remember the names of all the rolls we ate, but everything we ate was delicious. Surprisingly, my favorite roll was the veggie tempura roll. What I recommend not doing is ordering handrolls. Those can't be shared and after eating 2 or 3 of those, you are stuffed. The fish slices were on the thinner size and the rolls were smaller than normal, but that's okay. It's actually an advantage because you don't get full so quickly off one type of roll and can therefore eat more varieties of sushi. Be careful though! You should finish what you order before placing another order in. You get charged for any uneaten food. I think this is a good idea as it prevents waste. Customer service was great. The servers were attentive and enthusiastic about the rolls they brought out. They even let our half unfinished roll slide at the end, but I think is only because we ordered so many that half a roll didn't mean anything. A note about how the orders came out: At the beginning they come out quickly, then it slows down. It wasn't too slow though. Lastly, the best dessert to finish the meal with in my opinion is the tempura banana with vanilla ice cream. Mmmm... I always have a second stomach for dessert. Green Tea & Cookie Dough ice cream are ordinary enough to buy at the market, so no need to order them here.
(4)Aundrea A.
I had eaten at this place once before and thought it was good. My grandmother and I went today and I thought it was great. Sushi was fresh, service was great, price, even better. We were pleasantly surprised to find out it was Monday so if you bought all you can eat (14.95 for lunch) you also got all you can drink (beer and sake). We will be back sooner than later. Cutest little spot!
(4)Erik O.
Good sushi for the price! Free beer when you check in on yelp! Don't forget like I do every time. They offer good appetizers and great rolls. Their lunch price is hard to beat and it's super close to where we live. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. Check out sushi rose in the NW!
(4)Annie C.
Love the sushi and service. Just went here for my birthday and the meal was free. It's a special they run. Woot woot
(5)Amanda R.
This place is great. The sushi is delicious. There is a great selection on the menu. Monday's are the best because you get free beer and you get free sake Monday - Thursday.
(4)Rasta M.
I love to entertain different sushi joints and I continuously return to the Rose if I'm in northwest Reno that's where it's cracking
(4)Colleen S.
YUCK! I was hoping it was going to be good like how the other reviews said but I was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED! The staff was not friendly to start off with. I came in with my two little children and the hostess (I'm assuming the owner) pointed to the table for us to sit. No "hello" or "hi". It was not busy either. I ordered tuna, yellowtail, and two other rolls. The tuna was sliced so thin!! I'm used to thick cuts of tuna! The yellowtail a had seen it's better days! It looked brown!! Gross!!!! The two other rolls were not spectacular...it was alright. I will not be returning to Sushi Rose because of its nasty sushi and lack of service. It's unfortunate because I live up the street and I love sushi!
(1)Michaela C.
My go-to for AYCE sushi in Reno. Good pricing with pretty good quality, compared to Sushi in California. I love how the nigiri and rolls are never too big to pop into my mouth. My only complaint is the sushi rice can sometimes be warm or hasn't been prepared correctly. Nothing some free Sake can't fix though!
(4)Heidi H.
Some of the best sushi in northwest Reno. We eat here pretty frequently and have never had any that didn't taste good. We love the fact that the rolls are smaller than most place. This allows us to try more then we would be able to at other places. My favorite rolls that I would recommend if you like spice and cream cheese are the Macho, Mermaid, and Mariner. The appetizers are good with my husband and daughter both living the muscles, however my favorite is the Yakiton. Yum! Sushi Rose also offers drink specials during the week too. Today they weren't too busy when we went in so service was prompt. We have been in at times when they were busy, but still had open tables with very slow service. But today they were spot on. Sushi Rose is my go to sushi joint in Northwest Reno!
(5)Moriah W.
Service was really slow when we first got there. I think we waited 30 minutes before getting just our drinks. One server even seemed annoyed that I asked for more ginger. The other server, Rhyley was nice. He was friendly and seemed to be trying to please the customers. The sushi was fairly good. Prices were reasonable. The selection was limited in the way that they seemed to have a lot of items with crab and shrimp but not much fish.
(3)Dina K.
Had lunch on Saturday and it was great. Fish was super fresh and tasty. Service was great!
(4)Alyssa T.
After being here twice, I can say I'm a fan. They get a little bit busy, so be prepared to order a good amount of rolls on the first round if you're doing AYCE. They do free beers/sake but I can't remember when. Definitely get here before you feel like you're starving because the wait can be a while, especially for the bar seating. Great service, even if it feels like they aren't coming to the tables as often as they should--what can I say, they get busy! And the rolls are pretty dang good! This place gives you a little cucumber salad with the ginger and wasabi. Definitely yummy. I'll be back for you soon.
(4)Jessica E.
So good come back for more. The sushi is fresh and the service is amazing. The cooks are nice and know what they are doing.
(5)Caitlin D.
We had never been here before but really enjoyed the selection of different ingredients. Everything was very tasty and really well prepared. I think this is probably our most favorite sushi place in Reno. The staff was also very at tentative and friendly. They also have great AYCE deals on drinks during the weekday. Definitely a keeper!
(5)Cindy C.
Really enjoyed Sierra Rose Sushi. Service was speedy and friendly. They were swamped but still took good care of us. I liked everything that we tried. The Hamachi was amazing. Quail egg shooters were also very tasty. We will definitely return.
(5)Laura C.
Wide variety of sushi. Very fresh and yummy! Gets crowded on the weekends. Love the location cause it is so close to my apt. in the NW area. Great prices & specials! Lots of freebies with all you can eat!
(4)Jacquelyne C.
Great sushi choices! The spicy tuna is actually spicy (unlike other places)! Cut into smaller pieces. Very fast and friendly service. Not many beer options. Place is small but I can't wait to come here again.

Fresh fish! Fantastic quail egg shooters. Very good miso soup and calamari for starters. Of all of the places I have tried in Reno this is my favorite for its location, free beer and saki during the week and friendly/attentive service.
(4)Angie T.
In the time it took my waiter to help my family I had time to get so annoyed I wanted to write my first ever yelp review (which took a long time, I'm very patient), find the place on yelp, realize I needed to download an app to leave a review, download said app, and start writing the review. In fact just now he finally took our order. Ridiculous.

Sushi rose is one of my favorite places to get sushi. I like that the rolls aren't huge which allow you to try a bigger variety of things. They offer free sushi on birthdays, which we think is super cool. I've never had bad service here, and the rolls taste good. The stamp card is cool too for people that come in frequently.
(5)Matt F.
Came for all-you-can-eat, and ended up waiting for over half an hour to get our order in. The servers completely ignored us, while taking orders from the tables around us. And on top of that, all of the rolls contain "extras" not listed on the menu. One roll surprised us by having sweet mustard sauce on it, which did NOT taste very good.... On the bright side, once we actually got our orders in they didn't take all that long to make them.
(1)Kira M.
We started coming here when my fiance lived nearby and it quickly became our favorite. Many years later it still is our favorite place and we bring everyone we can. Great menu, perfectly sized bites, and great drink specials are a bonus!
(5)Justin B.
My first time coming here was an absolute fail. Messed up orders, almost 40 minutes to get the table's food and the server didn't even know what roll was what. That was about 9 months ago. My wife and I decided to give Sushi Rose another try today, and it was a great decision. Upon walking in, we see a banner that reads "One free small beer when you check in on Yelp at Sushi Rose" so I feel as if I instantly won already. Our chef was nice and pretty fast, only got held up when we ordered something from the kitchen. The rolls are good and my favorite part is they're small. I enjoy the small size of the rolls makes it so you can eat a lot of rolls and try out all the different options. Also, they don't over pack each roll with rice, I'd has each roll has about half as much as most other sushi places. With less rice, you get most fish and other ingredients. I'd recommend their Mountain Roll and Tiger Rolls. Desert, the tempura banana is awesome as well, definitely a good way to end the meal! Definitely will be coming back again soon!
(5)Keith D.
Great sushi! Food was delicious. The flower long role was dinamite! Great hole in the wall place!
(5)Lucia K.
Nice waiters, good food, great deals.. Im used to all you can eat sushi drowned in a creepy chipotle mayo (hello even that tastes bad..) but this isn't that. Sushi is definitely decent, even tasty! My Experience with the service has been slow, but the sake is free so WhO cares? I go out to dinner to enjoy myself and not stopwatch others performance and dock tips because they arent wearing their running shoes, they are nice and they mean well and they try hard. They have a consistent tasty program and My mouth waters for it!
(4)Mack M.
I come here about once a week. The sushi is great and very reasonable!! Free sake Monday - Thursday!!! Wow!!
(5)Jeff F.
Just finished up an amazing dinner with my two best friends. We found this restaurant on yelp and gave it a try. Half way thru dinner my friend told me he was about to have an emotional explosion. The rolls were fresh and original. The mussels are a must. Thank you Sushi Rose for an amazing night.
(5)Carsen H.
Been going here for a year now and it's certainly amazing sushi, even compared to living in San Diego! The fish is always fresh and the free sake is greatly appreciated! A must try in Reno.
(5)Maria J.
I have been coming to this place for about a year now. I really enjoyed the sushi rolls and appetizers. However, the service has not been the best. It really depends who you get. We were in there today and I was extremely disappointed. I had an hour and a half for lunch and they were just taking forever. My colleague and I ordered our dessert and 20 mins later it had still not arrived. When I asked them about it and told them we had to get back to work, they were extremely rude and said they had no control over the kitchen. Are you kidding me!!!!!! All it was was ice cream. I can't believe it.
(2)Brooke G.
Nothing to rave about at Sushi Rose. I went here for dinner with the BF about a week ago. The restaurant is small and LOUD. At first I thought it was the party of about 8 drunk people having some kind of party. But even after they left, I still couldn't hear what my BF was saying. There isn't any sort of decor that screams SUSHI RESTAURANT. Just regular tables with paper placemats. It just seems a little run down and doesn't have a cozy, comfortable vibe. The servers were quick to get our AYCE going. I ordered the usual things, mussels and nigiri mostly. The mussels came out fast because they obviously had been sitting under a heat lamp or something for hours. They were just dried out shriveled little things. We choked those down. The nigiri was actually quite good. I ordered unagi, smoked salmon, hamachi, etc. It tasted pretty fresh and yes the smaller portions are great. The spicy tuna hand roll was pretty damn good too. I don't know what was going on with the long rolls. I can't remember what I ordered but it all seemed to be the same. It just seemed like the presentation was off or something. Everything just seemed to be thrown together and rolled all willy nilly and slapped on the plate. I can't quite figure out why, but I won't be back. It was just a mediocre experience at best. Even the free beer and sake can't convince me otherwise.
(2)Tania V.
Tried this place out this morning due to the relatively cheap price and good reviews and I was VERY disappointed. I swear my spicy tuna roll was warm and nobody wants room temperature raw fish! The mussels were dried out and tiny and 90% of the rolls on the menu have cream cheese so there's not much variety. I had two rolls and just left rather than continue eating there and will not be returning when there are so many other good sushi options in Reno. I will saw however that the staff was very friendly, and I don't think it was the staffs fault as much as it as the obviously low quality ingredients.
(1)Drew R.
Okay if I could this would have been more like four and a 1/2 stars. The food here is really really good. The sushi is always fresh and I've never detected a hint of fishy odor or stake note about the sushi. I am more of a nigiri fan and they consistently deliver fresh tasting satisfying food. I even like the pickled cucumber and I'm not the biggest fan if cucumber. The smoked salmon is absolutely the best I've ever had and consistently smoked and flavorful. I've not had a bad meal here. My wife and sons liked one of the long rolls so much they ordered four of them and they always get multiple orders of the upside shrimp. Our last visit was a little disappointing in that we arrived late and they obviously wanted to be closing so we were a little rushed to finish but I can forgive that based in out late arrival. Best sushi in NW Reno.
(4)Michael D.
Good stuffs here- last time we were here weI had a round eye chef and this time we had an oriental lady named Crystal and she was super rad. Super on top of it and efficient. We had a most excellent time.
(4)Steve B.
This place is like the reviews hit and miss. Sometimes ok and other times not so good. The fish is usually not very fresh, I was told they buy farm raised fish. The rice keeps growing tons and tons of rice. Not very clean I have never seen anyone wipe down a menu or soy bottles but then again why when using the same towel for multiple tables. My wife complained about the bathroom and they have the coke machine carbonated bottles just sitting out in the open by the bar, very tacky. Not very friendly but I don't care about that if the food is good I'm not there to make friends. They watch a lot of TV while making and have no problem engaging in heated discussions with employees. They need to take notice of fewer and fewer people coming in and why. I go when I'm lazy because its close to home and hope it's a ON day other wise I make the trip across town. It's a family operation and is tied in with the Chinese restaurant next door so you can order Chinese food if you want. All the fried food is cooked at the Chinese joint next door, the two are connected. Only one bathroom uni sex and located RIGHT next to the bar so just hope the occupant closes the door if he or she has a growler. The price is reasonable, service just ok, friendly staff not usually, décor plain, cleanliness not a high priority, tons of rice, fish not great but normal in most places. My motto try anything once twice if I like it, good luck. 21/2-3 stars.
(3)Paola V.
I came in on a Sunday lunch hour to order to go..They weren't that busy, about five people at the bar and two tables. Staff greeted me right away and handed their menu. I placed my order which included 3 long rolls (san Francisco, mountain, & Philadelphia) and two appetizers (pot stickers & calamaris). It took nearly 45 minutes until I got my order. To top it off, they forgot my calamaris!! The rolls were poorly wrapped. Once you pick it up, it crumbles! Food was average but wished I had a better experience!
(2)Enza R.
Not so high quality fish and iffy service. I feel rushed while dining. It's fun for a birthday when you have a huge group and everyone wants free sake, with their all you can eat.
(3)Rhiannon H.
Sushi is great! Specials everyday, calamari is super good and $3! Can't wait to come for lunch and try the "All you can eat" out.
(5)Craig U.
Yummmmmm. Some of the best sushi in Reno!! By far the best and most friendly service. I would recommend everyone to give this place a chance.
(5)Victoria R.
Love this place! My husband and I come here once a week every week! Fast, friendly and delicious!! Always bursting with people and great deals too!
(5)Taryn L.
I'll give it a solid 2 stars, and will definitely return to try it again, as we had gone in on a busy evening (Thursday) and I can understand things getting a bit chaotic when a restaurant gets filled all at one time. First thing, I saw they give free AYCE on your birthday, just show them your ID! - That's a nice touch for sure. We had asked the hostess how long the wait for the bar would be (there were open tables but we prefer to have sushi at the bar), she pointed to a couple who had finished/paid and said they would be gone in a minute. Okay, we'll wait for the bar,...... 15 minutes passed, all table seats had filled from customers who had arrived after us,... and the couple was STILL sitting at the sushi bar, with no food or drink in front of them,.. simply watching whatever game was on the tv,..... at a sushi bar,.. especially a busy one, both the customer (including myself when I am done eating) as well as the hostess should be aware of guests waiting. We would have been happy with a table, had we known we were going to wait for these people to watch the tv. Once we did get seated our sushi chef started taking orders promptly, and was very polite. Our waitress on the other hand,.. well,.. took a good 10 minutes to even order a water and sake,.. and then we waited probably another 5 minutes for either to arrive. Overall, fish was delish (my boyfriend is a sushi chef and we both know good fish), none of the rolls seemed to be super unique, but they all tasted fresh - and that is what you want at a sushi restaurant. We will go back to give them another chance since we both work at restaurants and can understand moments of chaos. These things happen. Definitely worth trying out if you're in the area craving sushi. Hopefully next time we can bump up the star rating a bit :-)
(2)Derek S.
I wish I had four hands to get that place four thumbs DOWN! Anyone that said Sushi Rose is their favorite must be HIGH. That place was awful. Worst service on the planet, mussels tasted like they were sitting out all day, hamachi was RANK and stiff as a board, the salmon was some weird color and also completely dry, the shrimp balls were some strange fucked up texture, WAY too much rice on EVERYTHING... To their credit, most of the rolls were pretty good, but if the most basic of dishes are not fresh, its no bueno. They should read their Yelp reviews because all the reviews in the last two months have been negative. Something over there has changed for the worse apparently...
(1)Megan B.
I was skeptical when we first went in. Lately, the sushi joints in town have been less than... desirable and frankly a waste of money. My husband and myself were VERY pleasantly surprised by Sushi Rose! Overall, the sushi was fresh, and they were freakishly busy on a Monday evening. The service was attentive, even at the table (the bar was full). Their salmon was nice and buttery, the muscles were fresh tasting and not stale like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp, and my husband said that the Yakiton was excellent (I'll take his word as I'm lactose intolerant). I only have two complaints: 1) The Unagi was more than a bit on the lean side, but I'll try it again next time we go to make sure it wasn't just a fluke. It's normally a very naturally fatty fish, so I'm hoping next time will be better. 2) There's a lot of cream cheese on the menu. I don't mind it so much as I prefer hand rolls and nigiri, however, for people who can't ingest any dairy it really limits the available food. Yes, you can request that they not put the cream cheese in, but, I'm a firm believer that you eat the roll the way the Chef intended it. It's there for a reason.
(4)Alyssa S.
Definitely top rated Sushi in my book! The fish is incredibly fresh, they do not overwhelm you with rice, and they have awesome specials on week nights. The sushi chefs are very attentive and give you super fast service! The ambiance is tranquil and the restaurant is very clean...if you haven't been to sushi Rose, this is a MUST try!
(5)Tina B.
Absolutely a wonderful chill kind of sushi bar. Everyone is happy and just easy going. Food was totally kick ass
(4)Darren J.
The rolls were very bland and mushy, the nigiri was thin, warm, and did not seem very fresh. They were offering discounts for yelp reviews which leads me to believe why this place had such a good rating.
(1)Jeff S.
I don't know why this place has 4 stars. It's very mediocre. They put way too much rice in their rolls and the fish doesn't come close to the other true 4 star sushi places in Reno
(1)Marti C.
The highlight is the free Sale and Beer Promos they do. Service is generally slow and it always has an unidentifiable smell when you walk in. We've tried is 3-4 times. I prefer the raw sushi and I haven't found their fish to be fresh. They use lots of sauces and have many fried options if that's your bag. I would prefer to drive further for a better experience, sushi and vibe.
(2)Adrian F.
Best in Reno...always fresh and special orders are no problem. They love their regulars!
(5)Adrian M.
The sushi is good, but the service is horrible...I usually come here to eat, so I come hungry and I don't have all day....if you're on a date or something that would be probably fine.....servers ignore you for a long time...either at the table or at the bar....
(3)Boston S.
This place is awesome. It is easily the best sushi place in Nevada. I would absolutely recommend this place to friends, family, and random strangers looking for a good place to eat. The fish is always fresh and tasty. My favorite is the spicy tuna. This really is the rose of reno sushi places.
(5)Casey S.
Please is bomb. Free beer and sake on Mondays and other free stuff through week. Come down and try it
(5)Joanne M.
Seriously disappointed, ignored at the door for 15 minutes, then when I went to use what I was led to believe free all you can eat after filling the stamp card. I was told that I only get 50% off, even the dude that works there said it's "deceptive". I won't be going back, the sushi is boring, same ingredients in every roll.
(2)Janice B.
Great food and great service. Probably the cheapest sushi in Reno. Free warm sake or beer when you check in!
(4)Michael M.
This place is a joke..... they say it's all you can eat and free beer and sake. But if you are there for any amount of time they will stop serving you. You will wait and wait and will get no service. Half of the staff doesn't speak English and the woman server will act like she hates you. Booooooo sushi rose you could do better.
(1)April G.
Great food, sweet people. Long wait on a Fri Sat nights tho. Fun little place to hang with peeps!
(4)Will W.
Rice too big, fish too thin, wait too long, fish too bland. Bar has better service than tables. If you like rolls covered in sauce, this is ok. If you like traditional nigiri, where the flavor of meat is important, stay away.
(2)Lori P.
I have never been disappointed here. Love the Reno roll!! All you can eat sushi is free on your birthday. You can't beat that. This is our favorite sushi place anywhere. Just give it a try and you won't be disappointed.
(5)Ryan C.
Good sushi but pretty awful service.
(2)Wyatt B.
My wife and I have come to sushi rose at least once a week for a year now. They are not only the best all you can eat sushi in town they are simply the best sushi all around. The price is kick ass and their weekday specials make them hard to compete with! On top of amazing sushi they have the friendliest staff. Riley the server is always smiling and eager to make sure you have a wonderful sushi experience!! Our favorite sushi cook is Chao but Krystal is a close second. They both have our orders memorized and we have never left unsatisfied!!! I highly recommend rose as your sushi destination!!
(5)Jasmine B.
Went there for the first time to try out something new. Worst idea ever. Sushi was bleh, service was horrible and on top of that I overheard that the toilet was overflowing ...because I totally want to hear that while I'm eating! Overall was a disappointing lunch. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
(1)Jay S.
I possibly have tried every sushi joint in Reno and this place wouldn't be my top 5. Only because I asked for free beer twice on the promotion on Mondays (free beer) and haven't received anything due to busy hours possibly? I don't know but when I go on a Monday and it's free beer, I think I would want more than one on my table. The sushi is alright, but not my greatest pick
(4)Justin M.
Always excellent service and amazing food. The staff is is always friendly and there are many promotions that always keep us coming back. The quality of the fish is amazing and the perfect portion size of the rolls allows you to try many different kinds. Out favorite sushi in town!
(5)Greg B.
The rice was over cooked. The fish had dry spots on the corners. The ginger was stale. The server made a smart ass comment. The cooks made the rolls with more rice than normal. I won't be going back.
(1)Eric F.
Sushi Rose is on point as usual! Chillin on some Romeo and Juliet, Hot night, and seared Maguro. The Hamachi Kama is out of this world!
(5)b j.
Busy place but it's good for little place prices are more than fair
(5)Aimee F.
The service has always been wonderful and the fish is fresh and tasty! Love the rolls!!!
(5)Chad S.
I wish I could give two reviews. Have been here many times before and loved the food and service. After this last trip there were new chefs and waiters. Rolls were tiny and every time things were missing from my order. They also took close to 35 minutes in between each order, even though there was less then ten customers in the store.
(2)Sandra M.
Sushi Rose is great! Fish is always fresh, and service is friendly. I'm very picky; but they always accommodate my special requests!
(5)Morganne M.
Woohoo!! They have good service and delicious food. We came on a Monday, so we got free beer and sake! The all you can eat included desserts and appetizers. Our favorite rolls were the rock n roll and the Godzilla. It's an easily accessible location with plenty of parking. Great sushi place!
(5)Jen J.
Don't be fooled by the ratings!!! They prompt you to write a review in order to get discounts for future returns. I told my server to let me eat the food before I write a review. Being from SF hearing about all you can eat sushi is unheard of and with a 4 star rating of course we were tricked into the all you can eat for $20/person vs the ala carte menu. We ordered a lot of sashimi and spicy tuna rolls. It wasn't disgusting but not great either. I'd never go back and shame on all of the people rating this 5 stars!!! The hamachi was sliced VERY THIN and the rolls are tiny with barely any fish on it. It was more like it took three rolls to equal one real roll! They were bland and the spicy tuna was mashed. Their green tea wasn't real Japanese green tea it was Chinese bagged tea. The fried bananas with vanilla ice cream was more like batter with a tiny spoon of ice cream smothered in whipped cream. You can tell they were trying to cut costs!!! I also got sick from eating the hamachi. SHAME ON YOU RENO !!!
(1)Emily P.
Sushi Rose is great! One of my top picks in town. They have a pretty large menu and I haven't had a single item off of it that I didn't like. The appetizers are delicious (I've tried them all), the miso is flavorful. The service is always professional, friendly and quick. They have all you can eat at both the bar & tables. They have free hot saki or beer all throughout the week (clearly labeled boards give info on the special for each day). The atmosphere is fine. Nothing amazing, but definitely not bad. It's not super fancy but is for sure great for the price. A nice, relaxing restaurant for a night out. A young vibe, but still family friendly.
(4)Brandon L.
To start I have had 3 and 4 star experiences here, but my last visit was 5 stars. It had been a long spell, since I went on a Monday last time and I think I got only 2 total rolls during my lunch hour. The chef slaved over some college kids like they were Donald Trump's kids, that visit really put a bad taste in mouth especially, when he forgot one of my rolls, I asked about it, and he acted like he was working on it. I knew he did because he made my most recent roll order, then gave me attitude about the fact he forgot to make my roll, when he was VIPing the College kids, making any and every roll they ordered without delay. OKAY, so enough of my last experience gripe (3 stars), but it's important, that you know, the experience can suffer, that day I will chalk it up to the free beers served all day Monday. My latest visit was on 8-1 or Thursday around 2pm (My typical lunch hour), and Dragonic Hunger STRUCK AGAIN! First they don't have to many rolls I like, I started with the Chau, got a Arizona, and Paris later. The rolls are smaller, so the fish they put in stands out, and they tasted great. The fish was fresh, and everything had great balance and flavor. You can get 3 orders of 3 mussels with lunch, so I ordered 6, BIGGITY BOM, super tasty and well done, just like I LIKE! I like this place because you can get AYCA (APPS), and it's a nice change to get apps, I ordered the Pot Stickers, they were excellent, Tempura Veg's, also great, Calamari, is grand, SHRIMP BALLS, they are fun to eat, seaweed salad, was standard, and I think that covers my app orders. The last fish I ordered was Jason's Hand roll, it was tasty the scallops tasted fresh, even though they were cooked which many places seem like they cook their old scallops, and the scallops smell and taste fishy, so I appreciate, that I could order this and it was done right, EXTRA POINT! Last, and probably the best part is desert is beyond just green tea ice cream, you can get Tempura Banana with ice cream and chocolate, and it was DONE RIGHT. If you want to support a local place and don't mind the drive to the NW, it can be a delightful place when you get there on the right day and time! BONUS 1, I think they serve 1 warm free sake daily with any AYCE, then Mondays they add the free beer(s) option. I definitely want to check out the Monday option when I got a cab or DD and some time to enjoy myself and no work the next day! BONUS 2, they have a stamp card that leads to free SUSHI (LIKE), and you can a free Sushi on your Birthday, I missed it this year, as I totally forgot about it. Happy Sushi-ing FRIENDS! =)
(5)Jay R.
This place is a MUST in reno. Ive been to a few sishi bars abd this is by far one of my favorite places to go to. Great food with free sake and beer. You can't go wrong with this place.
(5)Jed D.
Sushi Overload !!!All you can eat sushi with variety of selections for $14.95 (lunch) ; best deal I've heard of. Quality of the sushi is good . They also offer some chinese dishes included in their AYCE menu like pot stickers and sweet and sour soup. Service was quick and servers were attentive. I went around 1 pm on a Saturday and had a sushi overdose that the next time I ate was lunch the next day, Sunday.Definitely I'm coming back whenever I go to Reno again. The place is close from Boomtown as well ; just about 5 miles.
(5)Sarah V.
My boyfriend and I were excited to try a new sushi restaurant, especially one with such a high rating. The nigiri was made with way too much rice and I ended up pulling half of it off so I could enjoy what I was eating. We both agreed the food and service were mediocre at best and we probably won't go to Sushi Rose again.
(1)Mery M.
What a gem! We've been here 3 times now and couldn't be more content. You have to get the Romeo and Juliet---there's just something about cilantro and sushi that seems wrong---but it's not--that tangy taste of the cilantro mixed with cream cheese and array of fish---mmmmmmmm....need I say more.
(4)Shondra B.
There are two sushi restaurants my husband and I go to on a regular basis. we choose sushi rose over sushi seven because they cut their rolls smaller and their miso soup is better. Their wasbi is also hotter which my husband likes. The staff is always friendly and energetic. They are quick to get your order out. My only dislike about this place is the rolls are not very consistent. you are not sure what your roll is going to taste like when you get a different chef. I have ordered the upside down shrimp from three of the chefs and have received different versions every time, CHAO makes the BEST!!! I would also like this place better if they had the Mochi ice cream option and a salad bar like sushi seven has. I would highly recommend this place to any sushi lover or anyone who just wants to give sushi a try for the first time!!
(4)Yara P.
I love the customer service here..fast and efficient...the food is great..No long wait times like other places...I will definitely be coming back...
(5)Kathy R.
Love this place! Always good, service is great, and everyone is friendly. And love that they offer free birthday sushi!
(5)Robert S.
Is it true? A great place to eat sushi in the Northwest? No way! Yes, yes way. And of course I discover it the same week I get an offer on my home in Northwest Reno. So, here is the skinny. This place is actually surprisingly good. The service was AWESOME!! I had a party of 12 show up and they bent over backwards to take care of us. Special requests were taken care of promptly. Friendly as heck too. Atmosphere is pretty standard Reno AYCE sushi. Think Sushi Time or Sushi Pier. It's not a fancy "date" place. The roll presentation isn't all "ooh ah" so if you eat more with your eyes than with your mouth. You may be disappointed. However the food was really good. The flavors were full and the rolls seemed to actually taste different between each roll. You know how many times you go to a place and it just seems to be the same roll with the same sauce with different names...this wasn't the case here. One roll I really liked was the "red" roll. Just wows I tell ya. Wows! I will be going back, even though I don't live up there anymore...I will be going back. With friends. And you should too. Coke products.
(4)Lyric A.
Pretty decent sushi. Friendly staff.
(3)Jay C.
I've really lost interest in these guys. The Monday free all you want beer is still pretty cool, but I can afford to buy beer and it's not bridging the gap for the cruddy rolls I keep getting when I go in. They are really inconsistent, and I HATE sitting in this one guys section, because he has zero interaction or clear acknowledgement that he heard you when you ask for something. You gotta say it twice or hope he heard you. Same guy is super skimpy with the ingredients in rolls. One guy makes a roll different even when I order the same thing. I held off on posting , but after 4 out of 4 that were way off from what I liked, I think I am done.
(2)Jason P.
This place has the absolute best tuna in town. I admit that I am picky and much more likely to leave a poor review than a good one. I judge sushi places on the quality and freshness of their fish and Sushi Rose is top notch. Dont judge this place on their storefront. Its always busy, and for good reason.
(5)Jasmine C.
$14.95 All you can eat for lunch. Wow! I'm so stuffed. $20.95 for dinner. Still a great deal! The fish is good! The pieces and rolls are smaller which are bite size. Delish!!!! I am coming here more often!!!!!!
(5)Nichole R.
I love this place for all you can eat sushi! They include apps, sushi, and dessert, plus free beer or sake most days of the week. The sushi is excellent, as well as the service and staff. This place is a must see if you are passing through NW Reno.
(5)Rachel L.
Our go-to place for AYCE. We're cheap college students, but they always have promotions and delicious sushi. Mountain and Flower roll are personal favorites. Family friendly atmosphere and friendly staff.
(5)Melina W.
TERRIBLE TERRIBLE service. We walked in nobody in front of us, and a large table had just left so she said she'd clean it and she did very fast. 3 more people walk in and she sits them right away, which I understand because we had my toddler and they had room at the bar. But another family of 3 came in and she split the tables that she was cleaning then sat them.... then sat us last. So im tallying the AYCE sheet and finish. we are waiting and they took the tables order next to us. We where waiting there for about 20 minutes, and she came and dropped the food off at the other table. We tried to get her attention and she totally ignored us!! She didnt even make eye contact. We finally get the young mans attention and he just grabs the AYCE sheet, He Didn't even greet us or ask us if we wanted something to drink or anything. My mom who was with me was odering al le carte., But he would've known that if he took 5 minutes to greet us. I mean seriously!! I understand it was pretty busy in there but at least acknowledge us and let us know that you see us and will come back in just a moment. I was furious. I had to find him and tell him to cancel our order. All he said was "are you sure?" We left without even getting a drink.. I was so bummed too, because I've heard wonderful things about this place. Definitely will be taking my business elsewhere and will tell my friends the same! Maybe they are under staffed and need to hire another person because it only seemed like there where 2 waiters.
(1)Notanee V.
This place is awesome! You get free drinks with all you can eat. The food is prepared super fast and the staff is very friendly! I will definitely be coming back.
(5)Christina F.
Just moved here and this is my new favorite all you can eat sushi place! So good! Volcano roll is spicy and delicious!
(4)Sara S.
Good service and good sushi for a nice price. Rice was a little dry. For being as busy as they where they still tented to us. I have been here many times sitting at the bar and tables I will continue to keep coming!!!

We love sushi rose! We just moved to Reno and we love the staff. Clean, efficient and a great price. Mondays are the bomb cuz it includes saki and beer!!!! We visit once a week. No other place in Reno beats sushi rose.
(5)Starr P.
I really liked the smaller portions, it allowed us to enjoy more of the menu and the free meal on your birthday was great. The food was good but it was missing something to give it a little bit more. Will definitely go back.
(3)Tara R.
The best sushi in Reno! Great service and amazing food, especially if you know the secret menu... Inquire within! Don't forget to come in for great drink specials Monday- Thursday!!

For whatever reason, it seems like Reno is packed with sushi spots. However, the NW side of town seems to be lacking so discovering Sushi Rose was a great find since we live nearby. As far as sushi goes it offers fresh tasting rolls, as well as some variety, plus tons of the more familiar rolls that other bars serve (mountain, godzilla, rainbow, etc.). Interestingly, 60% of the long rolls contain cream cheese, which makes me wonder if Sushi Rose is going through an identity crisis - is it sushi or bagels that they want to serve. Aside from the food, there's the service. There's very little positive feedback that can be shared about the service. Maybe the fact that they seem to have people who work there is a plus, but as far as bringing drinks, fulfilling orders, delivering the bill, and, well, just about all of the dining standards - Sushi Rose falls flat on its Happy Roll. It's atrocious. If you've got plenty of time to kill, aren't in a rush and don't mind waiting for 30 minutes to get a refill on water, soda or order a second cocktail/beer then this is the place for you. In the meantime, will be scouting out other sushi pads to get our long roll and nigeri fix on.

Good sushi, reasonable prices but the service is hit and miss at the bar. Came here a couple nights ago, immediately took my brother's order and ignored the rest of us. Then forgot part of the order, no big deal but frustrating waiting 5-10 min for each person to get their order (and we were only ordering 1-2 rolls at a time). I usually sit at a table and have never had problems there, my brother says usually the bar is faster, maybe just a bad night. Will be back for sure but not the most impressive service this last visit...
(3)Wayne J.
I went last night, with my friends. They sat us in the farthest corner, the sushi was alright, nothing to write home about. The service was dismal, it's a big problem when your table orders water, because when we're chewing ice they won't refill it. They actively avoided eye contact to prevent them from coming to our table, they just didn't care, if you would have worked my table I would have tipped better than $2.31, but when it's too much to ask to split my check, "making it easy on me", you've made my whole experience easy on you, I really appreciate the 23 dollars I spent on crispy mussels, it's fantastic, I look like an ass for being like"no, let's goto sushi rose, I don't like ijji" next time I boil and eat my kicks

Always great food and exceptional service!! I enjoy the food- well prepared and delicious. One of my favorite sushi restaurants. They have a generous appetizer menu and plenty of long rolls and hand rolls from which to choose. The sushi chefs and staff are always friendly and attentive. Food is always fresh and delightful.
(5)Jek Y.
Whoa, simply amazing....everything is perfectly portioned rolls, so you're able to taste a grip. Fish is fresh & veggies are crisp. It's great, check it out.

To preface: I was a regular here. I filled up my first stamp card (10 visits) and was working on my second stamp card. My gf came to visit and I chose Sushi Rose over many other good restaurants in Reno because I've had decent experiences. For some reason today, the service was horribly off. Ordering AYCE, we were given a plate of two long rolls that we did not order. We asked the waiter what these rolls were and that we weren't sure if we ordered them. He changed his mind twice about what it was (if the waiter doesn't know, then how are we supposed to know what it is?). We finally get the rolls that we did order, in addition to a second order of one of the rolls, which we sent back. They must have messed up our order or something, because we ended up with way too much sushi (that we did not order) that we could not finish. Not wanting to pay extra for sushi that we didn't finish, I told a second waiter (the first waiter just never came back to our table; kept his head down like waiters do when they do not want to serve people) that we want to look at our order form to see if we actually did order all this sushi. It turns out that we did not, and they must have randomly given us somebody else's order. Instead of apologizing or any friendly gesture, the waiter simply said, "But you already ate it." Well what else are we supposed to do when they are giving us random plates of sushi and don't even know themselves what they are serving us!? We did our best to even finish and not waste food, but it wasn't our fault that they can't keep orders straight. After waiting forever, we finally got the check and the second waiter did not stamp my card. I had to go up to the counter, ask for stamps, as he sighed, "Okk...." With so many great sushi places in town, what sets restaurants apart is consistent good service, which I realized today that this place does not have. TLDR; long service, bad service, order mixed up, and we were made to feel bad about not finishing sushi that we did not even order

When i was just going to give up on kindness at reno... nice staff! Made my girlfriend and i feel welcomed from the moment we entered and left. I love the sushi here. Nothing too fancy, but I don't care for fancy. Loved the spicy tuna hand rolls as well. Ordered 2 dinner rolls, a hand roll, and green tea ice cream to share with my girlfriend for the last stop in reno before we headed to tahoe and back home. The nice lady split our green tea ice cream free of charge. They had plenty of free sake and beer specials when you order all you can eat, who does that? I really recommend this place. Fresh, cheap "affordable", yummy, mixed with good hospitality. Whenever we end up back in reno, we'll come back.
(5)Cyndi J.
Okay sushi. Service needs some improvement. We watched a couple next to us, who sat down and ordered maybe 2 minutes before us, get served several plates before we even got our appetizers. We did the all you can eat sushi and free beer. The server was very scattered and asked me twice to confirm what I ordered, even though I wrote it down on the paper. She brought the wrong appetizer and told me that I wrote it down wrong, which I know I didn't. I would never mistake tempura vegetables with calamari. The entire service was choppy. And then as we were leaving, the server made a comment that the Reno News Journal article was making her crazy because it was so busy (we happened to come here because of that article we read - free beer Mondays!) Ummm, I'm not a marketing genius, but one should not complain when one's livelihood depends on being busy, right? And now that I think of it, we didn't even get offered the ice cream - she was so eager to get rid of us. The sushi itself was just all right. We had variety of rolls, my favorite was the simple spicy tuna roll. Everything else was drenched in aioli (which I don't care for) and other weird sauces, pretty sure we bastardized yet another lovely cuisine. The sushi chefs were women, which is so incredibly rare I don't think I've ever seen it, so that was a plus. Overall, I just wasn't happy with the service, and the sushi wasn't strong enough to make me want to come back.
(2)Gisela O.
I went to the restaurant to for a friend's birthday party. It was pretty busy when we got there but luckily my friend and 4 of his friends saved a table. For the sushi, it tasted adequate, but I wasn't all pleased with the flavors. The sushI that I liked so far was the macho. For the service however I wasn't a huge fan of it. We had a lady who was pretty sweet but she hardly comes to our table when we ask for water AND for our order. When the sushi came in, she didnt even tell us which roll is which so we ended up not knowing about which roll is ours. For overall experience I'm not going back there again.
(3)Hillary J.
This place is really good. I have yet to have any bad sushi here. The service is pretty good. I also love the VIP punch cards they do, it's a great program that keeps us coming back.
(5)Ben H.
Best sushi in town! I come here all the time and no other restaurant compares to this delicious sushi.
(5)Evan M.
This place is a joke. The service is AWFUL, and when I say awful I mean the most atrocious I have ever seen at any Sushi restaurant in this city ever, and that's saying a lot. They play favoritism with people the staff knows personally. Offering tables to people when they would have closed the door on another. "Reserving" bar seats when they have people standing in their stupid establishment waiting for seats at the bar (name me another Sushi place that does shit like that, I dare you). They have a lot of Free drinks nights, but because there is no stipulation that each beer or Sake comes along with another order of fish, what you end up with is a bunch of cheap ass college kids sitting around drinking sake/beer while you wait in vain for a seat at the bar or at a table. The fish itself is decent, but it's preparation is entirely dependent on which chef you get. There is no consistency and if you get the dreaded chef that uses 3 times the rice that should ever be used in a roll or nigiri you will wish you didn't even go as you pinch off huge amounts of rice and smash it between your empty plates. The kicker here being they even threaten you in their menu that you can be charged for not finishing what's on your plate. Ask for extra rice with that handroll, it's amazing when it has no fish in it. Tonight was the last straw, three strikes, you are out. The only people giving this place high marks are the nepotistic circle jerk of poor college lushes trying to get their alcohol fix. Go through my history, I never write bad reviews, hell I never even really Yelp anymore after getting rid of my NSA slave device, but after what happened tonight I'm going out of my way to make known what is really going on at the Rose.
(1)Sean B.
only my second sushi experience and it was pretty good.
(4)Jane P.
The sushi is very fresh. Also they don't load it with rice which is great! They are daily fast too. Staff is super friendly and helpful. They have a nice homie atmosphere and a peaceful vibe.
(5)George S.
Great sushi, drinks and service, been coming here for a year. We've never been disappointed. We recommend Sushi Rose to every sushi fan, Plus you can't beat free saki,
(5)Rebecca M.
I've been here twice, both times were pretty good. Nothing special, nothing terrible. The staff was efficient, not very friendly but not mean. The food was good. The menu had some fun rolls. The price is great for all you can eat!
(3)Tes A.
My favorite sushi place in Reno! Great atmosphere, excellent service. Im a regular. Wide array of sushi choices leaving me always satisfied. Hands down the only place in Reno I'll go for sushi.
(5)Savannah J.
Great service and great deals. Always busy but still fast and very nice. Go in on Mondays for football and free sake and beer. Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaat place for sushi. Located in northwest Reno. Located in Northwest Reno next to Bully's.
(5)Matthew H.
I mostly come here for the great service and the amazing staff. They are always very friendly and love to join in with some of the silly topics that we talk about. In addition, the food is great and always in good quality. But to top it all off they have great specials here that make me come back.
(5)Michelle C.
I cannot understand how this place has 4 stars. Nearly every roll on the menu contains at least three of the following: Krab, crystal shrimp, tempura shrimp, avocado and/or cream cheese. NEARLY EVERY ONE. Sushi is about fresh fish. Sushi is not fake crab mixed with mayo or shrimp deep fried and tossed into the microwave before rolling. We attempted to avoid the fried goods and ordered a couple spicy tuna hand rolls. The freshness of the tuna was questionable and the roll was poorly constructed. After tiring of continually searching the menu for something healthy, we finally caved and ordered the soft shell crab. It was inedible. The crab was not only obviously pre-fried and re-heated but the fryer oil was so old that it was a nice dark brown in color. People of Reno, if you think this is a 4 star sushi restaurant then I can completely understand why ClaimJumper is still in business here... because fried foods coated in mayo and cream cheese are right up your alley. A couple pluses for those who are seeking out a dining establishment such as this...the service was SUPER fast and SUPER friendly and it seems they're giving away something free every night of the week (sake, beer, etc.)
(1)Amanda B.
We eat here almost every week. The sushi is very good, they offer a selection of some of thee best rolls offered at other places but all in one place and just as good, plus some original to here as well. Appetizers and desert are included, the staff is fast and friendly, and they offer free beer or sake.
(5)Stephanie M.
Love Sushi Rose! Try to sit at the bar and not at a table. It's a pretty small place so don't bring a large group. Their staff is friendly the free drinks are great. I'm always happy with the fish quality.
(4)Ashley S.
They have the best deals out of any sushi restaurant I've ever been to! It's always a pleasant experience and you leave more than satisfied. The servers are pretty negligent at times, so make sure you order everything you need up front or you will be flagging them down throughout your visit. Other then that it's a great place to come to with friends and family.
(4)Angela R.
After reading mixed reviews I wasn't sure about this place but I desperately wanted sushi and it's super close to my house, so I decided to give it a try. I am sitting here about to scarf down my last roll and here is my review... I'm not a fan of raw fish so I'm stoked they have lots of rolls with my favorite cooked ingredients. The appetizers they offer are hearty servings. I got potstickers and they were huge! I saw someone's comment about how they cut the rolls into small bites. I personally love this! Who likes trying to stuff a giant piece in their mouth! The quality was excellent and everything really delicious! The staff is beyond friendly and are right on top of it when it comes to drink refills and taking away dirty plates. The sushi chefs are extremely attentive and nice. I will hands down be here again! Sure didn't hurt that they have great prices. And on most days of the week they have free drinks. Awesome!

Decent sushi in the northwest. Atmosphere is pretty standard AYCE Reno sushi. You come in and there's some tables on the left, a sushi bar that seats a dozen or so in front of you, and a room off to the right with more tables. The bar is a bit unusual in that it's granite, and maybe 3 or 4" higher than would be ideal. Nothing horrible, but enough that when I first sat down, I said to my GF, "Does this feel weird to you?" For those who don't like glowing rectangles, there's a TV behind the sushi chefs, and another one to the left - not sure if there was one in the other room or not? The setup is a little different than a lot of the AYCE places, in that there's no window to the kitchen - instead they use a mic/intercom and call it back, and then someone brings it out later. A bit disorienting, and I could see it getting confusing if it were busy. We were the only two when we go there early on a Saturday (maybe a half-dozen or so other customers came in after us while we were eating). I started off with some mussels - definitely overcooked and chewy, and not something I'd recommend. The GF liked the rolls, in that they were a little smaller than at some of the places in town. Service was prompt and attentive, but I wouldn't expect any differently when there was almost no one else there. Consistency was mixed - some of the rolls were too tight, others too loose, and some just right. I felt like Goldilocks, but I couldn't find the right one consistently. The rice was also a bit off . . . a bit dry and plain - no rice vinegar, sugar, etc that I could detect. On the other hand, the most important part, the fish, was excellent - on par with Hiroba and the Joint. If I go back, I'll probably stick to the nigiri. Definitely worth stopping in if you're looking for sushi and in the northwest.

While visiting a friend on this side of town we decided to stuff our faces with sushi and let me tell u what a great place. The rolls are amazing rose 1 and rose 2 r great and the mermaids we had to order it twice. We will be back
(5)Lena T.
The sushi was so so but the service was awsome. The quality is alright esp when they offer AYCE sushi for 18.95 (dinner). There isn't much of a variety to choose from. The sushi chefs were really nice and same as the waitress; very attentive. What I really liked is even though they offer the AYCE option they don't give you hella rice so you get full quicker.
(3)Sam O.
I love the sushi rose, they have the best sushi in Reno. Friendly service and good eats. I am having a ice cold Sapporo with my mermaid roll. Soon to eat a rock and roll and 49er. After I will have some chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. Soooooo happy right now!
(5)Heather H.
I have been to most of the sushi places in Reno and Sushi Rose is my favorite. They have the best appetizers and we seem to come at odd times of the day, but they never seem to be all that packed. The sushi itself is really good and I have never had a problem here with too much starchy rice as I have had with other places. The service is good also and they balance out getting you what you need without being annoying. Overall, the experience is exactly what I would want for a sushi lunch or dinner. We usually get miso soup, shrimp balls, mussels, and the fried calamari for appetizers and I would totally recommend The Chao roll also, it's one of my favorites.
(5)Heather P.
Once upon a time, in a land far, far away in a city called Reno, I asked Riley how to get a VIP gold card so I can also be entered in the raffle. He said I had to write a review on Yelp and that it had to be longer than just a short, tiny sentence so it seems real. Well folks, this $hit is real. I love Sushi Rose. Now, my VIP card and I will live happily ever after. The end

My wife and I went for another visit to Sushi Rose, and I'm happy to say this cute little spot remains one of our favorite "hidden gems". Good service, great food, pleasant atmosphere, very competitive price for AYCE sushi. Their menu is much simpler than many Reno options, which my wife and I actually appreciate; neither of us are fans of the huge, deep-fried & heavily sauced maki rolls favored by some well-known Reno sushi haunts. Here's how good & fresh Sushi Rose is: my wife ordered almost nothing but raw maki and nigiri last night, whereas her usual orders at Sushi Pier 1 and Hiroba are the veggie tempura and cooked shrimp/crab items. Sushi Rose removed her sushi training wheels! :) Now we just have to hope that this place remains popular enough to stay in business, but not so popular that it goes down the drainpipe like so many others have. P.S. My wife noticed the menu has special AYCE prices for kids under 11, making it more affordable to bring the young'uns. I don't know how many other sushi bars do that, but I think it's a great idea.
(5)Cody M.
Favorite sushi place. Great service guys know what they're doing. Great prices all you can drink special is a great time. Owner is very friendly and the fish is great and fresh.
(5)Taylor P.
I'm honestly not sure why everyone else rated this place so high because my fiancé as I found it disgusting. The place is dirty and smells like old grease. I'm not sure how this place passes health inspections (if it does) because they have a leaky sink right there next to the bar with buckets underneath, and they just toss the sushi plates into the buckets! It smells awful! Plus the sushi rolls were terrible. I would suggest going anywhere else in North West Reno for sushi.

Follow up review 15 months later..... Sushi Rose is even better! Wider selection, more appetizers, desserts, crazy! A little known secret of the locals for the best and freshest Sushi in Reno. There's a reason that this place has outlasted nearly a dozen other AYCE sushi restaurants in the Reno/Sparks area.
(5)Janet B.
Great food. Great service The choices are many and I have not had a bad roll. My all time favorite is the flower and they have the best mussels
(5)Mac S.
Friendly service, great location, hidden gem. Fish was fresh and we are pickier than most. Great specials and all you can eat was reasonably priced. We will come again.
(4)David T.
Sushi here is always amazing. Can't beat free sushi in your birthday or free beer mondays. The service is really great. We always go there with a big group and they are on top of things. Riley is awesome.
(5)Russell R.
Great sushi for a good price for all you can eat. I Recommend the mountain role, hands down their best one.
(4)Julie S.
We love this place!! Great food, kid friendly, fabulous staff. Northwest Reno has needed a good sushi restaurant, and now we have it. Free beer on Mondays!!!
(5)Shawn C.
Incredible! Go here at least once a week! Get the chao! Love this place. Our absolute favorite in Reno!
(5)Darina K.
Their service was poor - we did not get enough attention, got served by 3 separate people and had to wait 20 minutes for each order plus that much to get our check and to have the card returned. The place was not even that busy! However, they do have unlimited sake with your all-you-can-eat orders so it makes up for it if you have a few. Other than that, the sushi itself was delicious!
(3)Bruce R.
Excellent! I usually get a Chinese dish from next door instead of sushi (same owners) but the sushi is fabulous.
(5)Lisa G.
Slow, slow, slow service from the blonde, white sushi chef. He seemed unable to remember an order. We felt that he'd rather be elsewhere as he would drift into a stare and not move for several minutes. It seemed as if we did not exist to him. Other wait-staff was efficient and expedient. Spoke to the owners next door. They did not care. They told us he'd been there 2 years, almost as if they were defending him.. They Acted as if they were dumbfounded at my request to test the chef for drug use. After speaking to the owners about our experience, it seems they must make enough money off the ignorant fools that eat here, and they don't need nor want our money, or recommendation. No tip- for certain. I can't believe a friend would recommend this place, but being a sushi aficionado, this place leaves much to be desired- like an actual MEAL. The waitress was asking us if we wanted dessert! What?! I hardly had anything to eat and I'm as small as a bird! I told her "no", that I was still trying-trying- to get enough "dinner"! and we were the only patrons, the 2 of us- at the sushi bar and there were 3 sushi chefs working on food for a couple tables- maybe 8 people at most. DO NOT GO HERE- you will leave hungry and your wallet will be empty.
(1)Kurt G.
This place is perfect. Always accommodating for myself and my crazy chaotic friends and family. The sushi is incredible and the prices are very reasonable. There is a reason I keep coming back.
(5)Vanessa F.
Great place... Very helpful and efficient staff ... Nice location, good value....family friendly. The promotions are outstanding. Highly recommend it , a ll u can eat. Just had a California roll that was one the best I ever had... And mountain roll is also awesome... If you are fan of fresh sushi you have to try this restaurant. And in your birthday you eat for free!!! Make sure you check it out!
(5)Athena T.
YAWN! What a boring place. I made a special trip here due to a glowing review in a newspaper. Gonna have to write that reviewer and tell them "get thee to a real sushi place" because this place was so mediocre I'm having trouble not falling asleep remembering my lunch so I can review it. It was such a snoozefest I didn't even bother taking any photos. Which for me is a huge deal. But there was nothing worth snapping at all. Boo! I went at 2pm for a very late lunch because I picked up a friend from the airport; there was only myself, my friend, and one other person in the place, and there were 3 sushi chefs (two of whom were women, which is kinda cool) yet it took us 15 minutes to get our first order, and more than 15 minutes to get each consecutive order after that. I was there so long just trying to get a few rolls that I was mistakenly charged the dinner price of $19 when I was ready to leave instead of $14 for lunch. My stars are low on this place for so many reasons, the first of which is how wretched it is when, to a person, every employee ignores you unless you force attention out of them. And then when you do get them to pay attention to you, they just stare at you, slack jawed, and basically say and do nothing. I hate that! Second, the rolls are completely unremarkable except for one fact - they all seem drenched in a dark, extremely bitter sauce that just ruins the flavor of the rest of the roll. Even scraping the sauce off, I didn't like the flavor of any of the rolls - just too boring. All the rolls tasted exactly the same. Most had nothing other than that bitter sauce done to them to make them interesting. Even the muscles came out as 3 little PLAIN warm mussels - nothing on them at all! I've never seen that before in a sushi place ever. Normally there's sauce or juice or something. Nope, not here. Jut plain boring mussels. Weird. Also, everything is served in miniature - the rolls are tiny to begin with, but then they're cut into even tinier pieces, and the nigiri is so small it looks like a teeny doll-sized portion. Which wouldn't normally matter except it takes FOREVER to get an order out of these people, so you can eat your "roll" in about 2 bites, then you have to wait and wait and wait for two more bites. Frustrating. I agree with the Japanese reviewer who said while the fish isn't so bad that it's going to make you sick, it's just not very fresh. It was rather mealy and had no flavor. The tobiko was especially old, being very fishy and chewy instead of brightly popping. I was also shocked when I ordered the crab roll appetizer - it was not the typical deep fried roll, it was just a few premade Chinese crab rangoons with absolutely no filling. As lunch progressed, I dared ask a couple of questions and when I finally did get a response, it was a shrug with the answer "we get everything premade from The Company", whatever that means. I'll tell you what it meant to me - they don't do anything original or house made here. Boo! Third, the music is horrible. On this day, a very short, very small looping tracking of techno pop stuff was playing that was irritating mainly because every song repeated over and over because we had to sit there so long waiting for food. At first I added a star because they do have different free "all you can drink" beer and free saki on different days, which is cool ... IF YOU CAN GET IT OUT OF THEM that is. I was brought a free drink, and was told it was "all you can drink free" so I ordered just one more... and never got it after asking for it multiple times. So bye bye additional star. I strongly disagree with that glowing newspaper review and instead agree with Yelp reviewers who say they're not coming back here - I, too, will go back to my favorite sushi haunts, never to darken the door of this place again. If I feel the urge to take a nap over my lunch, I'd rather do it at home, it's cheaper.
(2)Amy Q.
Maybe I should of went here for AYCE, but I honestly was not that hungry so I ordered a-la-carte. I was not blown away by their sushi or sashimi. I received a fairy quarter-sized sushi roll and then thin slices of salmon as sashimi for $22. When it comes to sushi or sashimi, I have yet to find a place in Reno that is comparable to what I have had in Sacramento or San Francisco. Overall, the restaurant is quaint, tucked away in the corner of a shopping plaza, plenty of seating and lots of sushi chefs on hand.
(2)Rosalee S.
Holy moley Sushi Rose! This is hands down our favorite sush in Reno. The all you can eat dinner is reasonably priced plus the fish is fresh. The spicy tuna is always consistent and always delicious. My favorite roll is the flower but they all have something different to offer. The staff is courteous and efficient plus they always say hello and goodbye.
(5)Stan M.
I love coming here the rolls are great and we love the pot stickers and the fish always fresh and great atmosphere
(5)Whitney D.
I was skeptical about this place but it was my birthday and I heard they give you free sushi. I couldn't refuse. I was very suprised....the sushi is doo delicious and small as well so you can order lots of rolls. :) The fish is fresh. If you check in on yelp you get a free small beer too. I love it. I will definitely be coming back soon!
(5)Ryan D.
I came with high hopes but this was horrible. I won't return. The chef was short with me. Wouldn't hold conversation with any of the group. The server was great at first but then she forgot about us and we were on the tiny bar with no room for all the clutter. There was a group of girls celebrating a birthday and they didn't even do anything for them. The "tuna" was like ground up the rolls were sub par... I don't know if the chef was having a bad day but this was a horrible experience for me.
(1)Carlos H.
Definitely a good spot for sushi in Reno.. Great food and good price.. Mermaid roll was awesome.. Must try!
(4)John G.
This is hands down the freshest best tasting sushi in Reno plus free alcohol during the week!!!
(5)Jordan C.
Chao is the shit. Nathan is super sweet! We had a blast here and this is my first time in Reno having sushi! They have great customer service and know how to make the customers enjoy a good time :)
(5)Malaika V.
Best Sushi in town! Great service and amazing fish!
(5)Sonja C.
Love that we found this amazing sushi restaurant. You would never think from the outside that this place is so awesome. They have great premade rolls ready to order or you can request their sushi chef to use their imagination and make you one from scratch. We have gone to multiple sushi restaurants in Reno and this is definitely our favorite.
(5)Lesli V.
I can't believe I forgot to review Sushi Rose! We frequent this place a lot. In fact, my husband comes here so often it's a little embarrassing. The service here is good, everyone is helpful, and the wait staff is very friendly. I think the reviews complaining about service might not take into consideration how extremely busy Sushi Rose gets, especially on Mondays when they offer free beer. We think Brandon is by far the best chef here. He is the friendliest of the bunch, which makes any sushi experience more enjoyable. We also thinks his sushi is the most flavorful and carefully prepared. I enjoy most of the sushi here. The nigiri is in nice, small, manageable pieces and the rice is done right--warm and sticky with a slight vinegar taste. I don't understand people who want a giant slab of fish on cold rice, so Sushi Rose's methods of preparation suit me well. The Chao is a really great long roll, very flavorful and a nice change from the same old rolls you get at all-you-can-eat-sushi all over town. I also enjoy the Red long roll, with its generous topping of spicy tuna. And speaking of the spicy tuna, I love the hint of sesame oil in the spicy tuna here. Most spicy tuna is pretty flavorless nowadays, but not Sushi Rose's, it's really good. As far as appetizers, they have a good selection that are included with all-you-can-eat sushi. The calamari is definitely worth a try-you get large pieces and a large portion. I like the thick and chewy potstickers, too. The atmosphere here is relaxed and it can get loud, but if you want a quiet experience, avoid peak hours on free beer day. I think the prices here are very fair, the food is good and they have a good choice of beer and wine at reasonable prices. The only reason I am not giving five stars is that I wish the sushi chefs (other than Brandon) were friendlier. It can be awkward to sit in front of a chef that seems unfriendly.

This place has gotten A LOT better recently. The menu has been updated and has some new interesting items. I liked the famous hand roll and the mermaid. The rice is also WAY better than when they first opened. The daily drink specials are pretty good too. However, the person who spell checked the new menu should have had someone else do it. Crab (carb) is mispelled like 30 times. It drives me crazy!

I love this place! It is a great value - inexpensive ($14.95 lunch and $20.95 dinner), good quality fish, free sake Tuesday - Thursday. We went on Wednesday. We were seated right away. We ordered our appetizers and rolls. The dishes were being served promptly. I am not a fan of cooked rolls so can't tell you anything about these, but the fresh fish rolls were very well prepared. The ingredients were fresh, the ratio of fish to rice was very good. I hate when restaurants try to stuff you with bunch of rice. Not cool. We had Marinar, Flower, Volcano, The Chao, Mountain, and some nigiri. Really didn't have anything I wouldn't like. Also the sake kept coming. Before we finished a bottle, next one would be on the table. The service was very professional and attentive but not in your face. Just the right amount of attention. Also we stayed till the place closed. We were not rushed out. Even though the personnel was winding down they kept encouraging us to get more food or sake. We didn't as we were ready to go too, but I appreciated not being encouraged to GTFO :) Made for a great dining experience. Thank you

Oh my god the albacore melted in my mouth.....giggity Mondays are Awsome!
(5)Jennifer B.
The food simply was not good. We went in for the AYCE lunch special. The sushi rolls had very small portions of fish. I'm talking rolls that were like 90% sticky rice. And they weren't pretty. Nothing like any of the pictures I've seen on here. Some of the appetizers were really bad. Maybe the fry oil was old, or they were pre-prepared and less than fresh. We had OK service, but considering there were only like two other people in there, it seemed to be taking a long time to make our rolls. Will not go back.
(2)Coriann C.
It was kind of crowded but the service was still relatively quick and the sushi was good as usual. If you want some place that you know is going to be good and has some creative rolls this is the place to go.
(4)Myles S.
This place is mind blowing. Order the hamachi. It gets the hunnies changing. Max Tokunaga lost his v card here. It's that good.
(5)Kyle F.
Great nigiri pieces and love the hand rolls. Good lunch price for sushi, one of the best I've seen around town. During the week they have a bunch of free drink specials, like free sake on Tuesdays. Wish I would've discovered this place sooner, been hunting for the best ayce sushi for years, me and my girlfriend love it and were working on filling out our VIP card. Check it out! =)
(5)Robin D.
I was not a sushi fan and this place has changed me. I love the food and the atmosphere. I live right down the way and they will take us 30 mins before closing with a smile, we try not to do that though. Service is fast and friendly. Love it!
(5)Luisa C.
1 word: HORRIBLE. Horrible Service. Gave us wrong orders couple of times. Horrible Food. Cream cheese here, avocado there. I know of real sushi. Horrible Management. Just not efficient. Took a while for our drinks and appetizers. I try every single sushi place in town and this by far, is the WORST. I had very high expectations, and sadly, I am very disappointed.
(1)Dylan B.
I am a huge sushi hound, and went to try sushi rose with 2 friends, the sushi was decent, not great, but not awful, however the reason this was so awful was the service was atrocious, I had a waitress that when we placed our drink orders, (one water, one diet coke, and one sprite) we received 3 Dr. Peppers, another server did his best to rectify situation after situation however so much only could have been done as we were also receiving sushi from other places, with the amount of good sushi restaurants in Reno for only a slightly higher price this place is definitely not worth it.
(1)Amanda S.
We love this place! Great food, the service is awesome and there are great specials! Free beer on Mondays and the rose 1 and Rose 2 are our favorites!
(5)Adam G.
I've been to every sushi place in Reno and this is by far my favorite. Excellent service, great sushi, and amazing deals during the week. The staff is super friendly, attentive, and this place is always busy, which speaks volumes about the place. TV's for sports while you and all you can drink beer on Mondays? Who doesn't like football, beer and sushi on Mondays? Highly recommended.
(5)Dasha W.
Just went here for the first time after many trips to sushi pier 1 & 2 and once to Hiroba. By far this is the best of all three. The service was excellent, with genuine kindness and fast food delivery out to the bar. My fiance and I went to their lunch all you can eat sushi which was about 30 bucks total. This price is better than any other all you can eat we've gone to, even in SF. They don't cut corners for the great price, because all food was on point and delicious. The most memorable rolls we had and are now our favorites are: red roll rainbow caterpillar golden california and their nigiri was really fresh, and my favorite part, they didn't skimp out on any amount of fish. They cute large slices of actual fish with a smaller amount of rice. Other places we've been to do the opposite. we also tried their mussels and pot stickers (included in the lunch) which were both to die for. The mussels were in a tangy spicey sauce, which added a great flavor to the whole appetizer and the pot stickers were filled with delicious pork stuffing!! YUM! To sum up: Great great great service and excellent food.
(5)Jeff M.
I love this place. It's close, the food is great, the service is fast, the people are friendly, and for the price it's the best value in Reno.
(5)somer a.
I come here seriously once a week. Free sake tues - thurs and the sushi is awesome! Definitely a fan! Chao is yummy! NOM NOM NOM
(5)Melody M.
I love this place!
(4)Stacey S.
I was a frequent visitor to another sushi place in town and was hesitant to try a new place (Sushi Rose) even though it was way closer to my house. I am SO glad I gave them a try. Nice employees, fair priced sushi, and excellent extras for a deal (all you can drink sake and or beer) every day of the week. I will definitely come back! And they have chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream!!!
(4)Mario Y.
Sushi is really mouthwatering and fish is fresh. The price is so far the lowest in Reno. Highly recommended.
(5)Rodrigo I.
Love this place...best in town..bar none...great customer service!!!! Mondays where there is free beer and sake for all you can eat. The food is wonderful and the staff is super friendly and attentive.
(5)Tyler D.
This place is the greatest!!! Awesome chefs, Great atmosphere, and you can't beat the drink deals, by far my favorite sushi place in nevada.
(5)William E.
This is the only place my wife and i eat sushi. Its fantastic. I kind of hope people dont find out about it. Very NV
(5)Riley A.
The all-time most epic AYCE sushi in the Great Basin! Always fresh and great service! Mondays are all you can drink. Most other days have drink specials too, but most importantly an incredible menu. The menu is very diverse. It will likely take multiple visits to truly appreciate the extraordinary experience that is Sushi Rose. Enjoy!
(5)Jacoby D.
First time eating here. Won't be the last. They have good fast service and awesome fresh fish. If you check in on yelp when you get here you can get a FREE beer or sake. That in itself makes this place better than the rest.
(5)Charles L.
Excellent sushi and service. The prices for lunch and dinner can't be beat and the drink specials during lunch make for a nice treat after exams. This is my favorite sushi place in reno! On the plus side, you get a free sake or beer if you check in on yelp. WoooHooo!! Easy five stars!
(5)Cat C.
The service was great and fast! Not a single roll was forgotten! The sushi was YUMMM! Mariner and Volcano were amazing! Some of the best muscles I've had! Did I mention all you can drink Sake and Beer on Mondays?
(5)Steve M.
One if my favorite AYCE sushi places in Reno. Great value for good sushi. Menu has nice variety, and there's free beer or sake most days of the week. Give it a try!!
(5)Lindsay V.
Literally just left there. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rotten fish bowl?? The fish on our long rolls was so paper thin that we could actually see through it. They use IMITATION crab in their rolls, too. The rainbow roll was so pathetic. Hardly ANY fish on it!!!!!!!! When something called for cream cheese or avocado...that's all they used. It was like, "EASY ON THE CREAM CHEESE!!!" I came for sushi, after all. Then, the two guys next to us were ordering from the "off menu" which we knew nothing about. They ordered a Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck which had HUGE pieces of sake...huge!! We asked about it and the sushi chef told me, "Next time you can get." Not this time?? Really? Then, she took my stamp card and said that we don't use those anymore. Brought a new one back WITH LESS STAMPS ON IT THAN MY FIRST. I left very angry and will not be back ever again. EVER. If you want great sushi, go the Kokopelli's at Circus Circus, Sushi Minato, or Tha Joint in Sparks. DO NOT EAT AT THIS FISH TANK.
(1)Sierra D.
I love this place. The sushi chefs know what they are doing. I now have two favorite sushi places to go to. I'm really not excited about the tempura items but everything else is great. Thank you Sushi Rose for having such fresh fish and awesome rolls.
(5)Michael T.
My boys favorite Sushi-Representing the North West Boys...
(4)Neuy D.
Service is good but not with a smile which to me at least does't overshadow their low prices, decent quality and prompt though not cheerful service. Lunch all you can eat is just under $14, dinner just under $20. The sushi is decent for an AYCE place and great for the price you pay, I was expecting it to be worse than Hiroba which costs $10 more but it was better! I probably won't be back for ala carte as the quality does not warrant the ala carte prices but AYCE. Definitely.
(4)Hannah R.
We love coming to sushi rose! Is our favorite sushi place in reno, i highly recommend coming here! Service is always awesome, we don't go anywhere else! :)
(5)Alyssa Y.
I came to Sushi Rose to celebrate a friend's birthday (free AYCE on your birthday!) and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was really good. Many rolls come with cream cheese - which I LOVE! Overall, we found that the sushi rolls were good but the fried ones were definitely not exceptional. The service was okay, nothing spectacular, but there was nothing to complain about. They have a friendly staff who manages to keep up with the busy environment. I'll definitely be going back, especially for the birthday perks.
(4)Christina B.
-Sushi was good -the joint was sloppy, outdated, and noisy -mussels were terrible, dry, and crunchy .... ew -service was elementary, unorganized, and frustrating -prices were fair will not be going again...
(2)Charles D.
I'll start this post by saying that I am a 5 year veteran of God's gift to earth that is sushi rose. This establishment has the best service that makes the 4 seasons look like shit. This wait staff will wait hand and foot to ensure that your dining experience is beyond the best service you've ever received. 10/10 with rice, this place is that nice, it's basically a sushi paradise. Peace out and god bless sushi rose P.S. JILLIAN is a great server
(5)Kristina M.
This was my first time into Sushi Rose. A couple of friends and I had all never been wanted to branch out with out Reno sushi game. We went during lunch and based on their reviews opted for the all you can eat $15.95 When the first round of starters came out we were given one item that didn't look like how we expected. It was yakiton and it ended up being like crab ragoon with sweet and sour dipping sauce. It was good for Chinese food but not what we expected. My nerves started to spike thinking of all the stuff we ordered. We were delivered four rolls and like one of the three. We then were brought our nigiri. I liked the smoked salmon and tuna I ordered. The red snapper was ok. The regular salmon was ok. One friend really did not like her yellowtail. We were then brought another roll which ended up being our favorite. Most of the rolls had ingredients that were were not looking for. The three of us all look for fresh fish, light sauce, no fried items, no cream cheese. Most of the menu contained items with cream cheese or some aspect was fried (tempura, the roll, shrimp). The dinner menu had some options that I would be interested in but based on lunch might not get to experience. One friend never got his dessert. We paid and ate our desserts and his never came. There was one server who was really on service and table bussing. He would say each roll when he dropped them. The one who was taking our orders part of the time would not say anything when pick you up our slip or dropping off. We all ordered all you can eat on a Monday and were not offered a free beer or sake. Maybe it's dinner only. The waiter mentioned the deal and said that was why they were so busy. Perhaps they assumed we had been before and knew. Overall I was underwhelmed by the experience.
(3)Crossfit S.
Great staff! They are always so welcoming. And of course...I love the free all you can drink Sake!!
(5)Brian C.
Sushi Rose was an overall 4.5 star rating. The food was great! The atmosphere was average. The servers were very nice but seemed very spread thin with the amount of people. The sushi chef was accommodating and willing to try new twists to existing rolls. Danielle and I both had the Wednesday, All You Can Eat special, that included all the sushi you can eat plus all you can drink sake. We didn't take advantage of the all you can drink sake, however, we did eat a ton of sushi. The sushi rolls were perfect size and the chef kept the rolls coming without hesitation to give us more. It is hard to filter out the good and bad sushi restaurants in Reno since there are so many to choose. I was shocked that I never heard of Sushi Rose. The roll I enjoyed the most was the R&B long roll with seared tuna and scollops. MUST TRY! I will definite go back to Sushi Rose!
(5)Jeff C.
Sushi was really good! Godzilla, King Kong, Chao, Golden Gate rolls are delicious! And the pot stickers are amazing!
(4)Chris D.
I'm always a bit apprehensive to try out new sushi places because if it's not very good it's such a let down. This is why I always go to Hiroba because I've never had a bad experience there. Well, my friends and I decided that we were going to expand our sushi horizons, and sushi rose was our first sushi restaurant to try out. It had pretty good reviews on here, so it seemed like a good choice. I have to say I was disappointed. Their selection of sushi rolls wasn't that exciting. Almost every single roll had cream cheese or tempura shrimp in it, so it felt like all the rolls tasted the same. Also, the fish didn't taste super fresh. My favorite thing to get is the salmon nigiri and it was just ok. The service was not the best. One of the waitresses seemed as if she was annoyed that we were there. The other waiter was pretty good. When he would bring our rolls he would identify each one, which I appreciated since it can be confusing to remember all the ones you had ordered. So, overall I was not impressed and will probably not be coming back. It was ok sushi and would serve in a pinch if you had no other sushi restaurants to choose from.
(3)James P.
Love this local sushi house! Jillian is the best and the all you can eat lunch for $15.95 can't be beat. Includes all the saki too! After the burn we came here in a large group. They were so friendly and kept feeding us until we could all pop. Highly recommended.
(5)Jane S.
Love this place. It is our Go-to sushi restaurant in Reno. Very friendly staff and the fish is always fresh!
(5)Dana C.
There are some times in life when you just need to pull up a few tables and chairs, sip some warm free sake, and eat delicious sushi with your best friends. Sushi rose is the best place to come and feel like you're home. The waitstaff are all incredibly nice and helpful and always quick to refill your glass! The food is delicious - try the inside out shrimp if you're feeling fancy! I am always excited to come here for any occasion!
(5)Tabitha E.
I'm almost positive Chao left, I haven't seen him in the last 5 or so visits. They are always busy, probably for the beer stuff, but the rolls are so crappily made now. Just slopped together, and too much siracha, I love it, but when the whole roll has it globbed on. Poop. Also, I know I got sick once from here, I never threw up, but I have anti-nausea pills, but I had a fever and felt like crapola all the next day. I'm finally breaking up with you as my only sushi choice. I have a couple on the side these days, and they love me more.
(3)Sara H.
This is the best sushi restaurant in Reno. Great prices fresh fish and a delicious selection of sushi. I'd recommend it to anyone.
(4)John S.
This is by far my favorite place in town to eat sushi !!! Every time I eat here the food is amazing and the staff even though occasionally when I go, there are different folks, are extremely friendly and eager to help. The fish is always fresh and I love that the rice portions are small and the rice is fully cooked and soft. Personally the rice is big for me. Ive been trying new things when I go in and have not been let down by anything at all!!! I moved recently and still drive across town to eat here. If you havent eaten here you need to!!!
(5)Garrett B.
Super delicious sushi, highly recommend to anyone. They also have great deals through out the week with all you can eat.
(5)Jenn C.
Always was a little skeptical of all you can eat sushi, but Sushi Rose proved that AYCE can be good, fresh, and delicious! The sushi rice is just right--slightly sweet and chewy; the rolls are tidy and aesthetic; and the nigiri is fresh and bite-sized. Love the drink specials on Mon thru Thurs, and it's the best deal on AYCE in Reno.
(5)Kk P.
this place is the best in reno. my family comes here about three times a week. The fish is always fresh. we have been coming for a year now. the service is awesome. we loveit. free sake mon through thurs. its an aawesome atmosphere.
(5)Wendell H.
This is by far the best sushi in town! I drive almost 20 miles to eat here. Can't beat the price, quality, service and perks! There is a lot of sushi in Reno and Sparks to choose from. I recommend you try this place first!
(5)Ashley E.
Went here last night for the all you can eat/drink and had an awesome time! They got busy all at once but they were able to keep up with our high demand for warm sake, beer, and sushi! The first time that I went to Sushi Rose I wasn't too impressed. But things have really changed. I would say that they might just have some of the best service in town. Our waiters/waitresses were so friendly and never seemed to mind how busy they were. I'm telling you, the place was packed. If you're looking for some good eats and endless drinks, stop by here on Monday night!
(5)Helyse T.
This is, hands-down, our favorite sushi place and the best one in Reno. The fish is fresh, they don't overload the rolls with rice and the service is great. It's the only place we go!
(5)Chris W.
Unexpected surprise! There are a lot of all you can eat sushi places in Reno. This is good addition. Solid food, and good prices. My only real complaint was that it was EMPTY!! It felt odd eating sushi with no one else there but me and my girlfriend. Overall though, good service good food! Worth going to again!
(4)Tyler M.
I don't go anywhere else for sushi. By far the best sushi in the reno tahoe area with reasonable prices. I would recommend this place to anyone. Staff is very friendly and provide excellent customer service.
(5)Desiree S.
I really, REALLY like this place. I have been here a number of times over the last two years thanks to my friend, and fellow AYCE sushi warror Kristina. This place is never SUPER busy(although I do come on off times), which is nice. The bar is a bit small but I never sit at the bar at this place because I prefer to do some serious damage at a table where they can bring out trays and trays of sushi for me. The area is light and comfortable, and I can actually see my food unlike some other weird, dark sushi places. Service is pretty good, though admittedly, they do mix up my orders sometimes. I ordered one order of mussels last time and somehow ended up with four. I`m not really complaining, but it was just random and odd. On other occasions I`ve gotten rolls that were meant for other tables which is again not a huge deal. I`m very non picky and forgiving in terms of mistakes. I think it adds to the charm and overall experience. The servers are always really nice, attentive, and willing to accomodate your requests. The price for this AYCE sushi establishment is on par, if not a little bit lower than others in the area. Lunch is a great deal with AYCE appetizers, a good selection of rolls, nirgiri, and dessert. I`ve never been here for dinner but I`m sure it is just as good. You get free sushi on your birthday, and they have a VIP card. Take note. As far as the quality and taste of the sushi I have to say I really enjoy Sushi Rose. I think their nirigi is put together well with not too much rice and a nice sized slab of fish on top. It tastes fresh, and the texture is buttery and definitely a turn on. :) They have some pretty standard rolls here that you are likely to see around the Reno AYCE Sushi scene. Golden Gate, Reno, Spicy Tuna, Mountain, etc. I think the rolls are executed well with an abundance of fish and filling added. The rolls topped with crab are overflowing with delicious shredded crab. The quail egg shooters are yummy! The appetizers are really awesome. I usually get the tempura vegetables, seaweed salad, miso soup, mussels, and crab rangoon. All really yummy. I like the texture of the mussels ALOT(which is why I didn`t mind the four orders). All in all I really like this place. Small, cute, good service, good sushi. Go!
(4)Deanna V.
Amazing!!! My favorite restaurant for sushi- amazingly fresh sea food, they have free beer and warm sake on Mondays! And free sake and buy one get one free beers on Tuesdays as well as free sake on wed/thurs! They do free sushi on your birthday with ID. The staff is absolutely amazing and so friendly- I highly recommend this place!
(5)Jay B.
My wife and I just moved to Reno from California. This sushi is ABSOLUTELY delicious. Originally from Atlanta, my wife and I moved to Cali and had some west coast sushi that was amazing. Just moving to Reno, we found this little gem that is some of the best sushi I have had. And with free hot sake during the weekdays, you can't the all you can eat deal either. Whether you want the Volcano roll which is pretty spicy or you want the Romeo & Juliet roll which is absolutely delicious...you can't go wrong.
(5)Brian D.
Wow! This place is amazing! Absolutely love it! Definitely love it !
(5)Eric H.
My family and I eat here all the time for lunch and dinner. Our favorite place to eat sushi! Our service is always excellent and the sushi is always amazing. Awesome prices and always willing to recommend the place!
(5)Dominic L.
Sushi Rose is a great little place. They make some pretty good long rolls and the Yammy hand roll is great! In my earlier visits I had a little bit of a hard time with the freshness of the raw fish but it seems that lately they have stepped up their game and the fish has been pretty good. I would recommend this place to everyone. They have great deals on Sake and Beer pretty much everyday of the week. Nice environment and never too crowded. Try the Romeo and Juliet long roll... it's a great mixture of ingredients! One of my favorite rolls in town!
(4)Lester L.
This restaurant is tucked in a corner of the strip mall where the first Bully's is on Mae Anne & Sierra Highlands. From the outside you would never guess inside you will find a nicely lit, dijon colored walls and a nice oak wood sushi bar. There are also about 15 tables scattered throughout. But after all what really matters at ACYE is the quality of the fish. Either I got really lucky or this place rocks. I had pieces of yellowtail, swordfish, salmon and snapper. Holy mother of nigiri, they were all excellent. Also had a couple of rolls, their specialty ones I am assuming since they were named Rose 1 and Rose 2 Long rolls... they did not dissapoint. Service was good. Price for lunch special was $13, and I think dinner was right at $20. This is probably my new favorite sushi joint, and it's nice cause it's in the neighborhood. Highly recommend it.
(5)Kim W.
I came here on my birthday 1/19. I was told by a coworker that they do a free all you can eat sushi birthday perk as long as you have a valid state ID. The atmosphere was pretty good. It wasn't to busy when I went, a few people for the game. I sat down and they greeted me. I told them it was my birthday handed them my ID and they all said happy birthday! Super nice! The sushi itself was really good! Personally I don't like my rolls to be extremely massive... here they were a little smaller which is fantastic! Everything was really good here. I will defiantly be returning!
(5)Brad W.
Sushi rose really has its ups and downs. On the one hand the sushi is pretty good, though a small menu good nonetheless. Also on the good side is the price, unbeatable when it comes to sushi places here in Reno and drinks are included with the all you can eat. There is a bit of a bad side to the place though and that goes along the lines of professionalism and customer service. While out on the floor the employees tend to bicker amongst one another and help you less after the initial sit down. We also found it to be unprofessional when one of the waiters sat down right next to us and took out all the receipts and money to begin counting and doing paper work. This made dinner a little awkward. These are not just issues that occurred upon visiting this place one time but has happened repeatedly on numerous visits.
(3)Smile B.
OK if you just want Rolls! Born and raised in Japan, my expectations are high for Sushi. But I've traveled a lot, so I know the levels of Sushi in US too. Sushi Rose is a OK place if you just want rolls (Maki). For me, sushi is all about sushi by piece (Nigiri), rolls are side dish only. Here, I suppose most customers order rolls only, so, uncommon raw fish (Sashimi) are not being sold much. Therefore, fish on Nigiri was not fresh at all. They were edible....I didn't get sick or anything. Decor is somewhat Japanese with a bit of Chinese feel to it. Service was good but nothing personal. We live near by but I would definitely go back to my favorite place, Hiroba for sushi...sorry guys! =)
(3)Steven S.
Thank you yelpers for another great find! The fish was fresh and very tasty, which is a main concern when it comes to sushi. The staff was incredibly friendly and on top of everything. Their roll called "Red" was amazing. My only problem with this sushi joint is it's way to close to my house and their rolls were incredible, I will be here a lot! I would definitely recommend this sushi joint to my friends and family!!!
(5)William B.
Great food and even better customer service plus all you can drink 3 days a week with your sushi you can't go wrong.
(5)Bruce S.
A rose by any other name.....FINALLY....A great place for sushi in the Northwest! I was a little suspect of the location. Don't be fooled. This is a clean, bright sushi bar that puts more quality in the their preparations than decorations...I'm good with that. The service is excellent as well as the quality of the fish. Combine this with low prices equals an incredible value. A friend and I went there for AYCE based on a recommendation and were very happily surprised. The portions were good (fish-to-rice) the service was very friendly and our chefs were attentive. Ask them to make you something special and you are treated with the tastiest piece of art you've had the pleasure of seeing and then devouring! People of the NW, no need to drive downtown (avoid that other place up the road where the sushi is as weak as the service). THIS is the place.
(4)B S.
This is my new favorite place. Service was quick and staff was friendly. The menu had a lot to chose from and has much more flavor than some of the sushi places I have frequented in the past. I will definitely be back!
(5)Angie M.
First time coming to Sushi Rose and was very impressed!! Would highly recommend to everyone :-)
(4)Ryan S.
Best sushi I've ever had in a long time!! I'm coming here again for sure Amazing Food guys great job!
(5)Cargon S.
This place is great! they have a new menu with more appetizers, rolls, and dessert! The cooks are quick and give excellent service. The rolls are very delicious, and the all you can eat is reasonably priced. The nigiri is very good as well. My girlfriend and I go here at least once every two weeks, it is a great little hidden gem.
(5)Jason S.
I've had better, but pretty good for a neighborhood sushi joint. I'll go back, sure. Roll menu fairly limited, but my guess is they'd accommodate most any request. Service was attentive and speedy. All staff was eager to please. Other reviewers are right: Service is thoughtful and attentive. I thought the rolls were all fine (Mariner, Rose #1, San Francisco), but nothing like "aw damn!" good. I really can't complain, except to be honest, I have had more memorable sushi. Still though, competent and perfectly acceptable. I never knew this was here, so I'm glad I found it. For a quick pop in for sushi near the house, this can't be beat.
(3)Chris F.
The best sushi in Reno hands down. I dare you to try it.
(5)Helen H.
Staff - helpful, attentive, friendly Decor - Fine. Flat-screen TVs on the walls, which is a pet peeve of mine, but some would think that was great. Food - Fair. Beautifully presented; ordered four rolls and pot stickers. The pot stickers were surprisingly dry in the in the middle but tasted okay. The rolls all had cooked shrimp and Krab, and tasted pretty fresh. The rice, however, was gummy and gluey, hence the three stars. Because it's close to my house, I'll likely go back and give them another try. Rolls were around $9 ea and if I'm going to spend $18 on a casual dinner, I want it to be good. I, like others reviewing this spot, am really happy there's a sushi joint close to home. I hope they iron out the kinks (come on guys - get the rice right) so they can make it.
(3)Ynah R.
Yes!! Do not let the good reviews fool you!! They tell u to yelp for good service and u get a free beer.. Used to be good but now the servers seem to ignore u after a while . Bad service!!!! we r not from here n usually make it a point to stop here but not anymore.. my last few visits here was just bad service each time.. they say all you can eat, and all you can drink on Mondays but thats bull $hit they will cut you off. Food takes forever to get to you and the sushi is soo small. The mussels was soo dry and chewy . The waiting staff seems to be trained in the art of ignorance because they act like they dont see you.
(1)Wes W.
What can I say...... Sushi rose is off the hook. Best deals in Nevada by far, ain't no comparison. And on top of that the sushi is just absolutely tremendous. Let me start with the pros. Good location, its cheaper than many sushi places and its not very busy. The not very busy part may be due to the fact that is nothing overly memorable. Its ok, but i thought the menu lacked creativity and many of the rolls tasted very similar. I had a roll with some sort of sauce that ruined the whole thing that unfortunately ended up being a casualty. The service was ok, but considering we were the only two at the bar i thought it could have been more personable. Im not in a hurry to return, there is no shortage of sushi offerings in Reno and i think this overall is pretty mediocre.

There are a lot of good sushi places in Reno (seems like one on every corner) and this one is close! My son and daughter tried it first and loved the food so my husband and I dropped in last Sat. night to try it out. We sat at the counter and before we even sat down, the proprietor was at our elbow asking what we would like to drink. Saki and beer came back to us by the time we sat down. I ordered edamame and a Crystal Shrimp roll. My husband ordered the tempura Shrimp and Vegetables. The first thing I noticed about the roll that it did not have a ton of rice rolled around it, in fact, it had a very thin layer of rice which was nice because I was able to taste all the ingrediants without fighting through a ton of rice. The roll was delicious! Next my edamame came--hot, perfectly cooked but the dish would have been enhanced with more salt, I think. After my dishes were out and eaten, my husband's shrimp and vegetables came. What a delicious dish!. The shrimp were perfectly cooked with a miasma of light, not greasy, delicate batter. And the portion was healthy--at least six very large shrimp. The vegetables were perfectly cooked! Again covered with delicious batter. The tempura sauce was a little thick and candy like. I would have liked something a little lighter to match the delicacy of the dish. To avoid picking at my husband's dinner, I ordered another roll (and another Saki!). I took a gamble with the long roll "Why Not". It was a perfect gamble. The filling was tasty with a subtle brighteness of lemon about 2 secs after you started chewing....a surprise that kept me going back to experience it again with each subsequent bite. They do have an all you can eat menu. We were not that hungry and ended a la carte. Walked away feeling nicely sated (not bloated with rice). We would definitely come back again! They have a punch card that offers you freebies after so many visits and you eat FREE on your birthday! They could improve a bit on service...but the staff is very friendly. We didn't feel like we wanted to rush through dinner so the intervals between dishes didn't bother us.

Best Sushi in Reno! Not only is everyone super friendly, but they have fresh and cheap AYCE sushi. Along with AYCE sushi on Monday's they have All you can drink booos, of anything! Such a great deal! Every $10 spent gets you a punch on their punch card...$100 later you have a %50 off meal, now that's what I'm talkin bout! Check this place out, you won't be disappointed! Much better than Sushi Pier's!!!

I love this place. Great location, great staff, and most importantly GREAT SUSHI! Go here at least twice a month and always have a great experience. Not to mention the amazing deals they offer.

This is my favorite sushi place in Reno. Always excellent service and delicious, high quality food. Casual atmosphere, clean and friendly. Love it!

We have been trying the different sushi establishments, and Sushi Rose is by far our favorite. The service was IMMEDIATE, and they were even quite busy. I know many people simply like "bigger" rolls for the money, but I feel other places make the rolls big just by using a bunch of rice. My son loved the potstickers. We tried the Tiger roll, the Rose #1 and #2, plus Godzilla and a couple others (I can't remember the names, sorry.) We were all pleased that the rolls were just a mouthful - and mostly sushi - not oversized with rice, as others do. The presentations were beautiful, and flavors were extraordinary. The service was second to none, and we will definitely be back.

My wife and I tried this place since it is right down the street from our place. It is a nice little sushi place. We ate at the bar. We had the AYCE and a couple large Kirins to wash everything down. The sushi chef was very nice and prompt. The rolls themselves were very good. We started with the Flower and the Reno. Both arrived very quickly. The only down side was they never brought the pot stickers we ordered. It didn't matter though. We just had another roll instead. This is definitely somewhere we will go again. A couple things to know, they have AYCE with free beer and warm sake on Mondays. They also offer free sushi on your birthday.

I love it here!! Close to home cheap prices and excellent sushi!!!

If you check in you get a free beer or a sake! Love this place. Very quick, cheap, and good sushi

I have eaten here at least 10 times in the last 3 months. So that should speak for itself. The fish is always fresh. No loading rice on your plate. I'm more of a fan of Nigiri and not the rolls. But my daughters love the rolls and they love this place too. The only thing I can say I am not a fan of is the spicy tuna which is chopped tuna mixed with Sirachi. It's mushy and unpleasant. The up side is free sake nights , free beer nights.

One word......AMAZING! Went here on a Sunday night and it was not busy at all, which was nice. We also got free sake because it was the last day of the month, that was a nice surprise! The sushi was fresh, had a great rice to fish ratio and the chefs were quick. You never would have guessed from the outside that this place looked the way it did on the inside, very well decorated. This is our new favorite sushi place and will be going here when we want sushi. Could be a problem, actually...

The sushi here is mediocre at best, and the service is horrible. I feel as though our server is less than happy to serve us, and the last few rolls I had were easily 80% rice. The seaweed was chewy and stale, and the fish was very fishy. It's half of the price of better sushi like Hiroba and rickshaws, but it's easily half of the quality.

Sushi Rose is our favorite little hole-in-the-wall type joint. Plus they give you free all-you-can-eat on your birthday, so we're here all the time with friends and family for birthdays. On top of that, they have some of our favorite rolls in town. We'd recommend Sushi Rose to all of our friends.

Impeccable service, they are just incredibly fast and polite, anticipated everything and our sushi chef was skilled and ADORABLE!!! Many rolls the same as other sushi bars but plenty of their own, absolutely delicious all around. New favorite for sure.

I eat at just about every sushi place in Reno/Sparks... hands down friendliest staff, great drink specials, free AYCE sushi on your birthday and... most of all, super yummy sushi with creative menu choices. Enjoy!

It agonizes me to write this as I'm still in pain from the awful experience I had at sushi rose. I feel I should begin by saying that this is not the first time I ate here, it was the second... and last. The first time there were only a few customers so I got my sushi in a timely fashion. Unfortunately, speed does not cure mediocrity. I began my evening by swinging by sushi pier II. I ate there a couple of weeks ago and was pleased with the service but even more with the quality. It's too bad I was looking to do a carry out order and this place was way too busy. I figured sushi roses sub par product would have to do as it is on the way home and shouldn't be as crowded. I walked in to a semi-crowd, but nothing to warrant walking away. I decided to eat in and did all-you-can-eat. I first ordered two hamachi and two albacore nigiri. After ten minutes they gave me octopus, which I return promptly... No big deal, I'm not in a hurry, mistakes happen. After waiting another 7 minutes I get my albacore. While waiting another 5 minutes to be asked if I would like more to eat, I hear the table behind me complaining about how many items they have been brought that they did not order... They would like their food, the right food. The evening continues... More people leave and more people arrive, more orders are screwed up and more minutes pass between opportunities to request food... If I could just get what I ordered ten minutes ago. At least the waitress is kind, and expresses her regret and frustration with the chefs. Enough to earn her a tip, hopefully they let her keep it. At the end I place a takeout order for my fiancé who is vegan and texted requesting two avocado and asparagus rolls. $15. I asked them why and they said "asparagus"... There's an item on their menu that includes avocado/asparagus/unagi/crystal shrimp and some other fish with sauce for 9.50... But I get charged 7.50 for two vegetables because apparently asparagus is a delicacy. She did not reduce the price but did throw in a super special seaweed salad. Thanks but that's not cutting it at this point. In summary, this is the first bad review I have ever written. I feel it was my obligation to report this crummy experience. If sushi rose gives a hoot about their customers they will take this is as notice to do better... They have lost me as a customer because I'm not willing to deal with it in hopes that they will get it right this time. Try it yourself if you'd like... Maybe steer clear of Friday night and don't expect proper cuts, quality rice or simple designs. Try getting some of their rolls in your mouth without spilling, near impossible.

A decent place to get sushi in Northwest Reno. The menu has all the standard rolls of sushi you'll find on any all you can eat sushi menu. There are misspellings all over the menu. The rolls themselves had a lot of rice and not so much fish. Service is just okay, both for the servers and the sushi chef. I would go here again if I need a quick fix for sushi, because their prices are reasonable.

My friend introduced me to this "little hole in the wall" restaurant. It's a very low key restaurant with good service. You don't feel crowded or rushed. Their menu is simple to understand and I must say their Rose 1 and Rose 2 Rolls are amazing! The food is always fresh and delicious. In addition to the amazing food, their prices can't be beat! Definitely worth the visit!

Fantastic setting and EXCELLENT service. Sushi was reasonable and affordable. We could debate about what American sushi is, and what it should be - but what is irrefutable is that Japanese sushi is meant to be an intimate dining experience with a friendly chef. You'll find that here.

Good sushi, good prices, great sushi chefs! Very nice and friendly staff.

Really good sushi with family prices on the all you can eat. Tucked away in a corner, this local south west Reno sushi pad is worth the wait.

promised baby sushi lunch so we came here to try it out and i am glad we did, excellent food and service, plenty of choices to choose from and best thing ever NO SUSHI NAZIS, i will not frequent any sushi place that tells me i need to eat all my frickin food or they are gonna charge me. anyways i digress, enjoy this place, i will because i am going back asap.

Checked this place out on Tuesday with my girlfiriend, it was AWESOME. The fish was some of the best quality I have had in Reno. The menu was varied and the dinner all you can eat of $18 is cheaper than the average in Reno. We were the only people there at first, which was semi worriesome, but all for not. They need to do a Groupon or something to get the word out so they can stay in business. Definitely recommend this ALL :)

Have tried all the AYCE joints in Reno/Sparks, some on multiple occasions. I saw an advertisement for free AYCE on your birthday, so I thought I would give it a try. I went with a group of 10 people, two of which are not Sushi eaters. They ordered from the chinese place next door, which is actually the same company and put on the same bill. The chinese looked great, but got so so reviews from them. The service was very fast and EXTREMELY friendly!! Our appetizers came out quickly, and they had BOGO Saki. THe nigiri was very fresh and the rolls were delish. Just the right amount of rice and big slices of meat. The rolls were presented different every time (ie the caterpillar roll was snaked and the nigiri was used for legs, carrots for antennea). They even made a birthday dessert roll and sang "Happy Birthday", very cute. The restaurant was decorated kind of cheesy but was very clean. I would absolutely go back!

I was certainly not expecting it, but this place was excellent! The tuna and yellowtail were very fresh and the rolls were well prepared. They seem to use less rice than other AYCE sushi places I've been to which was nice. Service was also very good and I will definitely be going back.
