Just the nicest staff I've experienced in a while. The food is ... It's Olive Garden. Chocolate mousse dolcini to die for. 5 stars for customer service, positive environment, and overall friendliness. I would most certainly go back (if ever in Reno for work again)...

If I could give more like 3 and a half stars here I would. Olive Garden in general is not my first choice for Italian food but it isn't so bad. My fiancé and I go to Olive garden for their specials sometimes to get a change up on the nights when we don't have a ton of money for dinner, but it's not like we are so broke we have to eat at the MickeyD's next door! Some of their specials would be like the never ending pasta bowls or the buy one take one dinner. Those are when we go because then it is worth it to us. When you are at Olive Garden, you usually always get the same appetizers as everyone else because it comes with the dinner, breadsticks and salad. Sometimes I order the Zuppa Toscana which is probably the best thing on the menu! The breadsticks are always hit and miss, sometimes they are fresh and warm and yummy, while other times they are hard as little breadstick shaped rocks! The salad never disappoints me, I love picking out all the goodies in the salad, and trying to steal the whole TWO black olives and pepperoncini's that come in it! I like ordering the alfredo and marinara dipping sauces for the bread to jazz things up, and we always go through two salads. Every once in a while we will order the Stuffed Mushrooms, or the Lasagna Fritta, the Spicy Shrimp Scampi Fritta, and the Smoked Mozzarella Fonduta are all pretty tasty too. Most of the entrees are just a variation of the same ingredients thrown together differently, yet I've never ordered a pasta dish I didn't enjoy. I have tried many, many dishes throughout the years at Olive Garden but a few of my favorites are the Chicken and Shrimp Carbonara, Stuffed Chicken Marsala, Lasagna Primavera with Grilled Chicken, and their Steak Gorgonzola-Alfredo...however hands down my favorite item I've ever had isn't even on the menu anymore... the Moscato Peach Chicken.. Now that I liked! I always hope they'll bring back that dish! Tiramisu isn't so bad and neither is their coffee. The little mints are nice, and the entire experience isn't terrible, it's just not my first choice.

You pretty much know what you are getting with the food. Everything is cooked with a crazy amount of fat and salt, and is therefore delicious, though lacking in depth and complexity. What can you really expect from a chain restaurant though? This particular location has a few notable considerations. First, no matter when you get here, whether it's for lunch, dinner, or in between, you will probably not find parking. I have visited this location numerous times and have never actually parked in the designated lot because it's always full. I usually park at the neighboring McDonald's right in front of a sign that says "McDonald's parking only." Do so at your own risk. Second, a nice aspect about this location is that they don't make you wait the mandatory 20 minutes to be seated so that they can appear to be busy. This is a common practice among restaurants that this location does not adhere to. If there is a table available, you'll be seated right away. Third, the service here is always very good. I tend to tip more than usual at this location because I am constantly impressed by the service. Overall I don't find the food to be good enough to be worth the price, unless you get the unlimited pasta deal or the unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks and go crazy. If you are like me and are capable of eating your weight in one meal, it's a good deal, otherwise there are better options in Reno for the money.

My server Robbie deserves a raise!!! He's top notch, if you want the best server ask for Robbie! I'm very picky on my service, give me good service I'll tip accordingly. Thank you soooo much!!!

Meh. That is all I can muster up for the OG. My kids, though, had been begging to go so we gave in and went for dinner last night. One thing I definitely need to mention was that our server was super cool. He was friendly and kind, joked around with the kids, checked back on us several times, and was prompt at bringing things we asked for. I wish I could remember his name. Paul, maybe? To start, we had fried calamari because that's a family favorite. And it was alright. It was actually decent, probably but I recently had the peak of all fried calamari experiences in my life so everything is downhill from there.) Fried calamari at Un Caffe on Double R... Try it. You will think you are eating a little breaded piece of heaven.) The salad is good of course, as are the breadsticks. And that is what I should have stuck with. I had the baked tilapia with shrimp off of the lighter fare menu or whatever it's called because it sounded fantastic. In reality, it was only ok. I think the shrimp may have been a little old- they were a little smelly. They tasted ok, but I did wind up with a stomach ache later on. Nothing major, and I'm fine today. The tilapia itself was overcooked and dry, despite the white wine sauce on it. The white wine sauce was good but salty. The dish came with garlicky broccoli and that was pretty good. My daughter had Alfredo and said I make better Alfredo sauce. She didn't even finish her meal. My son had spaghetti and only ate the meatball and a few bites of noodles. My husband had the chicken and gnocchi soup and said it was pretty good. I remember several years ago they had a beef short rib dish on their menu and I didn't see it on there this time. Which is a pretty big bummer because that was actually a really good dish and I thought that was what I was going to get. Oh well. Basically I am just not that interested in the OG and probably won't be back unless I'm with someone who desperately desires it. And even then, I will try and talk them into somewhere GOOD.

Doing take out tonight... It's a little slow. Like really slow holly cow. I waited an hour for my food. By the time I got home it was cold. Not to mention the take out girl was RUDE. I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants such as this, but I was really craving Alfredo. I wish I would have taken the time and made my own because my meal was mediocre at best. The only good thing about dinner was the breadsticks. I also asked for shrimp. I paid for it, however no shrimp was to be found.

Dinner our for a friends birthday. We had a large group so were seated in a room up stairs. We started with the usual breadsticks and salad. I say - YUMO. I do love the breadsticks and salad. I ordered the Lasagna Primavera with no chicken which was on the light menu. It was a smaller piece of lasagna but the perfect amount for dinner. It had a good amount of sauce and was very flavorful. The services was good considering we were such a big group. There were some mix ups with the bills at the end and it took a long time to get the bills but overall the dinner was good.

December 17, 2014 Wednesday - 6:30 PM Dinner 15+ adults and a handful of kids Atmosphere - 3 stars Food -4 stars Service - 3 stars Background - My friend's birthday dinner. Atmosphere - We were upstairs in the room with the doors. The chairs were very uncomfortable. This was pretty much the consensus around me. And the lighting was horrible on the lights were aimed at the art work. The center of the room was really lacking any light to even read the menus. Food Drinks - Just water, many of the beers they had on the list were not available. My Meal Appetizer Course - Had the bread sticks and salad, classic Olive Garden style. Main Course - Five cheese ziti la forno. Do you know hard it was not to say porno, lol. Classic simple and what you would expect in a cheesy pasta dish. Dessert - None unless you count those thin chocolate mints. Service - For a group of twenty plus people with one server I thought they did a great job. Why a huge ding? It was great that they did separate checks for everyone, much appreciated. We were wrapping up the night. Somehow everyone at the tables got their bills in the nice little folders. The couple next to us had showed up late, and was still eating. We got out bill handed to us, just the detailed slip with no folder. So I wrapped the paper around my card. Our waiter told the couple next to us verbally what their bill was. They were good and hand him the card at the same time. The bills came back, my card had their meal on it and vice versa. So then we had to give our cards back to have the charges removed and the proper bill to occur. So when we got our bills back I had their deduction slip and likewise they had mine. Because of the activity on their card in a short period of time their card got denied when the proper bill was placed on their card. Handling money and credit cards is critical in any business. Future - After this experience I now know why I don't frequent the place.

HATE HATE HATE eating here! I ordered a red chili shrimp platter here and all I tasted was the vinegar of pickled jalapeño! Jalapeños are NOT red chilies! The cooks obviously don't know what they're doing. After eating this my main course was all wrong, my boyfriend lost his appetite and it was such a terrible experience we can't even come back for wine. Too much salt and made us feel sick. The wait staff is nice enough, so it's not their fault that the cooks are inexperienced. Not to mention outside it always smells like raw sewage, nothing to stir up your appetite more than the smell of a hot outhouse walking into eat your dinner.

Had vanessa as a waitress, she was very nice and friendly. Ordered the mango strawberry margarita which as yummy! We ate soup salad and bread, which is always delish!

I have been to Olive Garden on other outings, and never with the service I received this last time. We were told by the hostess the wait time would be about 20 minutes, but we did not wait that long before we were seated. We were paying with a gift card and so we ordered more than usual (my stomach can attest to that!) The waiter was the winner, as being a branch restaurant you can expect a consistent taste. The waiter was the perfect amount of dedicated without being overbearing. Our drinks were full, our food arrived promptly and everything was as it should be. I have never had such amazing service at an Olive Garden before. I have always had good service, but this guy was great. I wish I could remember his name....

Lame. The service there is totally a hit or miss. the food would be enjoyable if the service was better. This is what I thought a couple of years ago. Now, there is better service and better food deals as well. Loving the $12 eat one and take one home entree deal as well.

We were seated quickly at lunch with no reservations. The waitress was right at our table and took our drink orders and was back with them in minutes, drinks were refilled I n a very timely manner. Overall the service was very good. The food was ok I had the spaghetti and meatballs it was very tasty not great, and I thought portion was very small for the price. My friend had the bottomless soup and salad and said it was great. I would definitely come back for a quick lunch.

Whatever, it's the olive garden. Of course my noodles are over cooked. I couldn't tell you what pasta I ordered, but I don't think it matters, it all just seems to be one variation of marinara or another. I added chicken, and it was actually not over cooked and dry so... I'll give them that. I went in for the cheap never ending salad/breadsticks/soup combo, but got tempted by the pasta (I blame my week long carb perge...dang it). Lesson learned, all things in moderation because then you don't get mediocre pasta and instead eat never ending hot (delicious) bread and like a half bowl of soup and salad. Perhaps what was most surprising about this trip was the packed parking lot and the 5 minute wait for a table. Apparently, this is the place!

Had not been to the Garden for some time, but I got an email offering. For their new meal offerings and happy hour items. We had a special occasion to celebrate having Em healthy and ready to get out of the house. We wend early arriving at 5 so we could miss the crush of guests, the building can be a little loud inside so we asked to be put upstairs, it is very cozy a much better place to relax and have a conversation. The service staff was very attentive and kept on top of refills while we were sampling different appetizers waiting for our entrees. The food al usual was very food, great flavors and a very generous portion so you have a second taste later at home. They do a team service which I enjoy, multiple staff members assisting each other so the guest gets excellent service. The only challenge of the evening was a screaming child near by, but you can't fault the business for a family trying to enjoy a night out and having an unruly family member, I have been there before and can appreciate the embarrassment. All In all Olive Garden in Reno is worth a visit they provide a fun and filling experience!

Worst service of my life. The beginning of the meal was not bad. Our server came asked what we would like to drink, brought the drinks promptly. We ordered a appetizer and our main courses. After our food came, out he NEVER came back again. Not to check on how the food was, not to see if we needed refills on our drinks not for anything. He had no problem serving his other tables as well as a very large group, which he was probably excited for cuz of the gratuity he would be getting. I had to flag down another server to bring us the check, which I guess she said he would be bringing. He finally comes back without apologizing for ignoring us for 30 minutes, boxes our food up and says he will be back with the check. He goes and starts getting all the drinks ready for the large group while we are sitting there for another 10 minutes waiting for the check. Once again had to flag down that same waitress and ask for the check since our server was not bringing it. I wished a manager came over so I could tell them about the terrible service. Never have I experienced such bad service at any Olive Garden. Thank god I was just visiting Reno and never have to come back again.

Had an awsome experience here. I've been to a couple of the local olive gardens and though the dishes were higher quality than going to dennys. I was always able to pick out somthing I didn't like. This time around I ordered my usual chicken marsal and it just blew my mind. The chicken was moist and perfectly seasoned like it usually is...but the risotto side is uaually dry, bland, and flavorless. This time around it was moist and the vegies had a crispness to them. Who ever they have in the kitchen knows what he or she is doing. The service was pretty awsome as well. Our server Bryanna W was an absolute love and waited on us hand and foot. I personally hate have a waiter or waitress that won't leave you alone...but she was very plesant and actually treated us like people! Amazing thought right?!

Really friendly and attentive staff, I've never had a bad experience here. If your experience is different it's probably because you're rude.

Another favorite of mine! Even though it's a franchise the food is actually really good. If you come here Sunday-Thursday night ask to be seated in Bill's section. He is literally the best waiter I've ever had ANYWHERE. He's prompt and friendly, but isn't overbearing and never messes up an order. Their portions are huge, and they have great mixed drinks. There is usually a wait during dinner hours, but I suggest just calling ahead and make a reservation. The manager is also really friendly and always checks in to see how the food was. I've never had a bad experience here and love coming here

I am by no means condoning this!! I came in and was seated by the fire, and had great service. Dee Dee was very nice courteous and professional. However, I realized I forgot my debit card and She brought the manager over and he understood my plight. He offered to get my lunch for me he shook my hand and said its for a late happy thanksgiving. I began to cry for it was never my intent to get s free meal! They were so nice!! I felt so blessed!! Thank you two!! Your kindness touched me!!

Fabulous experience!!! Food was great and fast. Service was the best yet. We had "Tim" as our waiter and he was awesome! Very friendly. Not our normal chain restaurant experience!

    (5)
  • Freddy K.

Expensive!! The spaghetti dish had a $6 upsell for adding chicken meatballs...dish came out with one single dinky meatball you buy frozen in a bag. When I inquired if this was a mistake, server said no and reminded me it will be the best meatball ever. It wasn't. Prepare to spend $55+ for two with no booze for one appetizer, two soft drinks, and two pasta entries. Good news is we filled up on salad like starved rabbits and bread sticks taking most of our entries home for another meal.

I gauge my ratings based on if I'd come back to an establishment or not. 1 star = HELL NO. 2 stars = No, thanks. 3 stars = maybe?. 4 stars = YEP. 5 stars = HELL YEAH! For a chain restaurant, me giving a 4-star is surprising. I'll only go to this one rather than the Legends location and here's why: 1. Getting in. I always leave a reservation on weekends, otherwise you won't get in. When I do arrive, the host-staff are pretty calm, cool, and collected trying to seat A MILLION PEOPLE. They are fairly nice for being stressed, so I'll give them that. Not perfectly ideal, but still good. 2. Service. I've had pretty icky service from the other Olive Garden in Sparks...but the servers here are great! Especially Heather B, she's so nice and passionate. I've had a few other good servers here too. 3. Food is about the same at both locations. I usually get a glass of moscato (get the bigger glass, they serve it in a carafe and that's pretty cool), some stuffed mushrooms and calamari as appetizers, seafood Alfredo, and some tiramisu. All good. The food is great...but not absolute perfection. I'm pretty forgiving though, so I'll stand at 4-stars.

NEVER ENDING PASTA is always the best. It comes with never ending soup, pasta, and salad. They usually have this around september and october which is the only time i come to this place. My first found i ordered tomato sauce with spaghetti and i couldnt even finish it! I ate way too much salad and soup before.. If you are 21, be sure to order the peach sangria! its my personal favorite.

Isn't it interesting that Soup and Salad goes up $4 for dinner? It's always unlimited portions so not sure why the price increase other than another way to make me not want to go back again.

I like to go here for lunch.... Hate the parking lot, always hard to find a spot to park. But the service has been good each time I'v gone. Try their Stawberry Moto, very good...

Our second bowl for endless pasta were offered to take everything home. When we checked we found a tiny bowl. lt's a joke we even paid $5 extra for the shrimp fir the 1st time we felt olive garden was an scam!!!

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner while we were up in Reno. We have been to an Olive Garden back in CA (where we are from) and the food wasn't as great and the service could have been better. This location, we got seated right away, it was busy, but we still had good service, the place was clean and the food was good. The waiter was this younger guy but it seemed like he took his job seriously. We also ordered drinks which were made perfectly. All in all good experience and if we are ever back in the area we will definitely be back here.

So I know this is a franchise restaurant, and there are tons out there, but this one here? S. Virginia street? It tops any that I've been too here or back in Oregon. I went there with one of my lady friends around 4pm, and we were immediately seated offered a glass of merlot, a small sample, but more than I was expecting, never had that before. I ordered a chicken alfredo and she went with a shrimp parmesan. The dish for me was stupendous, the most I could expect from a classy, franchise restaurant, and apparently, for my lady friend, the breaded shrimp was the best she'd ever had. We'd also gotten the Caesar salads with the side salad order thing, and the waiter told us they were usual about 8 dollars each, but he said he'd get them for us at the cheapest he could, which was 5.50. They were a lot bigger than we expected them to be, they were practically entrees themselves. But for me, the real reason this place deserves the 5 stars was not just because of the stellar food, but because of our waiter, Bill. My glass never even became half empty before he snatched it up and refilled it, constantly always asking us how we were doing, and always, always saying "you're welcome" whenever I said thank you. I complimented him on his service verbally and with fifteen dollar tip afterwards and he gave me his card, so that whenever I returned, we can request him as our waiter again. Yeah, I am certainly going to be venturing to this particular Olive Garden from now on, should I ever feel the need for Italian again.

We have not been in a long time. It was suggested for the nights dinner so here we went. I will say the young man was good at his service. Bryon it was. But I will not really go in to the food as it just is not worth my time. The conclusion as we drove off in to the dark night, we just found another place to which we never have to back. So if I ever in my old man mind ever hear such a suggestion again please tell me to stand my place and say..... No Thanks.

Dropping my review now that I've found a few good Italian places in Reno. La Vecchia and ZoZos are my favorite and Johhnny's is a close third ( a little pricier than the other two). OG sucks at handling large groups and it is overpriced for mediocre food. It only tastes good when you have nothing good to compare it to. La vecchia and ZoZos are the same price but better, Johnny's is a little more but also better. Only good deals, never ending pasta and never ending soup and salad.

I typically avoid chain restaurants , but my friend's mother had a coupon and wanted to come to the Olive Garden, so I agreed. It was a surprisingly pleasant experience :) Clean, quiet, great service from our waiter, several vegetarian options, and good (not great) food! My dinner came with minestrone soup and a house salad. The minestrone soup while slightly salty was seasoned well and had a good variety of veggies. The house salad was just a basic salad but the shredded cheese and vinaigrette was tasty. Lastly, their breadsticks are yummy, seasoned with parmesan, carby goodness, NOM! NOM! My main course eggplant parmesan with a side of spaghetti. The waiter was really good about bringing me crushed red peppers promptly, so my dinner was spicy :) The spaghetti wasn't anything special, but was cooked well. However, the eggplant parmesan was cooked perfectly: a good covering of bread-still crunchy, well seasoned marinara sauce, and perfectly cooked eggplant and cheese drizzle. I had the Red Blend with dinner, for the price it was surprisedly smooth 'medium' bodied with little tannin aftertaste. Our dessert was a plate of Zeppoli with Raspberry Sauce. The Zeppoli were soft, not overbearingly sweet, and were served warm! Yummy yummy donut goodness :) The raspberry sauce however was just nothing more than a glorified raspberry syrup... not horrid, but it could of been something really specular. Lastly, our waiter (Robert I) was awesome! He was cheerful, helpful, professional, and diligent. He gave us space to talk, but made certain we had everything we had asked for and more e.g. he brought out my crushed peppers before the entrees came out so I would have them ready, he brought us breadstick and to go doggy bags for them, went in and out of the kitchen getting the correct number of boxes and bags for us, gave me a small side container of raspberry sauce to go with the box of leftover zeppoli (so I didn't have to dump the sauce onto them and get them mushy), and even after we paid he filled my friends drinks glasses while we stayed to chat. While the food was around 3.5 stars for me, the service pushed it to 4 stars... All in all, a nice evening out :)

The food was okay. Kids fries were stale and pasta was cold. Adult entrees were pretty much spot on. Although it is hard to mess up soup. They have an upper level in the restaurant for some reason. We were directed to be sat there. I honestly feel sorry for any server who gets stuck up there. Up and down stairs. I totally understand why our food and drinks took an eternity. Servers were really nice though. Would go back but would sit downstairs.

Food was good, just wish I could have had a leisurely meal with my man! We were in and out in 30 minutes. Kinda felt like we were rushed!

  • Trista B.

Me and my boyfriend went out to dinner and had a decent experience. The server seemed to be headed home so I did feel rushed(which is the second time at this location) but other then that everything was really good. Except i did get some shrimp that was way to fishy so the manager was kind enough to take my entire meal off of the bill even though it was only 5 pieces of shrimp.. I still ate the rest of the meal. Which was delicious. So because of how awesome that manager and the food(despite the shrimp) was.. I will definitely be back!

Went here Christmas Eve. Granted it was busy but our wait or was extremely rude. The food was great. Great portions and as always I LOVE the bread sticks. But anytime we asked for refills on bread or soup he would roll his eyes. One time he even replied with. "Yeah, I guess" obviously I'm not going to defame the establishment for one lousy employee, bur it defiantly wasn't what I wanted on my Christmas.

    (3)
  • April P.

Food is always consistently decent at this location. I've never had anything that has wowed me before, though. Depending on how busy they are, service can range anywhere from good to non-existent. I recommend dining during an off-hour so you get good service and don't have to sit near screaming children.

Really great place to get a bite with the family. The family and I usually get one of the specials, be it the never ending pasta or the all you can eat soup and salad. Very consistent and always filling. The salad dressing is simply the best, no kidding! I always buy a bottle for home.

Very warm and cute place, waited for 15 minutes for 7 people on a Friday not bad, food was pretty good, service was wonderful & the food came out in a reasonable time. I would go back to Olive Garden anyway.

  • Lew L.

No veal picatta on the menu. Also, no clam fettucine. Two of my favorite Italian dishes. My chicken marsala was pretty good. It's nice they'll let you substitute sides.

    (3)
  • David B.

Some people I know from California say, "OMG! OG? Are you kidding?", but I explain that somehow our OG is actually very consistantly good, and busy even on weeknights. Nowhere else I know of has a chicken parmesan that is as crispy, savory, and fork-tender as theirs. It's two very thin chicken breast pieces with a parmesan crust, pan fried, topped with melted mozzerella and a basic chunky tomato sauce. Not bad at all. In fact I never order anything other. If you're in to cocktails, the Italian Margerita (not blended), rimmed with orange sugar, comes with a shot of DiSorrano Amaretto to pour atop. It's really something to write home about.

  • Jason C.

Don't get me wrong, I have been to some pretty fancy Italian restaurants, and although I would not put Olive Garden into that category, their menu works well for my picky kids, and I've always found their food and service to be decent. Actually I would say that service is one of the things that this place does best - we've always had great service no matter which location we've been to. Good selection of beers, wines, cocktails, and fun non-alcoholic drinks. The all-you-can-eat salad and breadsticks are favorites with our family. Entrée portions are generous, so be prepared to pass on dessert if you eat your whole meal. There is a very pleasant atmosphere here in general. The only real downside is the wait can be long at peak times.

Typical. Not as good as the other olive garden in sparks .. But we had the greatest waiter ever. Super upbeat cheerful and pleasant!!! He deserves great tips. Def stands out with his attitude. Forgot name.

Boring pseudo Italian food. It's not terrible but I don't understand the fascination by some Renoites. I would eat here if it was my only option. And even then, I'd only go for lunch and the unlimited salad and bread sticks. Not a fan.

  • Dude S.

Got a gift certificate so stopped by while in reno. To be honest dont care for major chains(they are mostly bland and sexless to this foodie) but a free lunch is a free lunch. Was very happy though with the service from Jen and food was good. We are going to keep it on this list of places to eat while in Reno cause we do come through here once in awhile. Its also in a good location with easy access to the hwy and close to airport.

Busy but always friendly :) food was great, we sat on a family friendly area, it seems like they had arranged it that way, we had both our kids with us and there where other families with their young children as well. Had a great time and so did the kids. Will probably come back sooner than later.

Today was an okay experience here at this local all of garden. I kind of had a problem with our waiter Ian, because he really didn't have the waiter educate for the olive garden that I'm used to. I hope you can improve his waiter skills. However the food was very good and as always I enjoyed the chicken gneoshi.

Look - this is the Olive Garden, this isn't fine dining or gourmet food. It's pedestrian Italian food. Going to the Olive garden is like going to McDonalds - it tastes the same no matter where you go and it's always the same food. There is nothing wrong with that - it's just boring. I have noticed that prices have slowly crawled up while portion sizes have gotten smaller. Apparently breadsticks are now an endangered species because they would only serve us two at a time (that's probably a good thing). Honestly - I've had good service when I've come here and I haven't had a bad experience. It's just nothing special.

I am not a fan of Olive Garden. So when my partner wanted and insist to eat here, I was not happy. The food was blah. Okay but nothing special. The soup of the day was hot. Taste was blah. I just wanted hot. The mussels dish was over cooked. I ordered the apricot chicken dish and the entire plate was saturated with the apricot sauce. it was supposed to be low fat and healthy for you. But the apricot sauce that slathered the was all sugar. So the taste was way to sugary. Overall the 2 stars are for the service. It was quick and unexpected...almost too unexpected. As the server placed the tab while we were still finishing our dinner.

Stopped by here, out of Towners and all. Can count on the food at most Olive Gardens, it's the service that sets them apart. This O. G. Was perfect, our server did a great job with timing and drinks. The hostesses were very friendly, that's why we leave the casino for better food, thanks Olive Garden .

My husband, daughter and I went to Olive Garden in Reno for Easter dinner. I wasn't really sure how this would go because I've never gone out for dinner on Easter. But we made reservations for Olive Garden, were seated on arrival. I received a sample of their blush wine (hubby didn't have his I.D.). Our daughter is very picky about her food so when I asked if they could substitute the tomato sauce for some other sauce I was expecting a slight sigh and eye-roll (because it happens fairly often when we ask if we can switch something out). But no, our server Bill was amazingly nice, understanding and very professional. We had a few other requests (yes, sometimes we are those difficult people) but he was awesome. The food was great! I had the parmesan crusted tilapia and LOVED it! Our daughter had the chicken strips with pasta ~and substituted sauce~ and my husband had the Tour of Italy. The food was great and the service was very very friendly! Thanks!

Well this Olive Garden was good and the service was great as well..It got pretty busy so if it does I suggest people head on to the sparks location. Same thing. If you need a quick fix of some Italian food get Olive garden is where its at.

Short review- The Italian Denny's. Long review- fast service, although slightly.... um, dramatic. Immediately noticed my empty wine glass, though- that's a plus. We were there on the evening of the Superbowl, so you can guess there were plenty of empty tables and the service was very fast. Drinks, appetizer, salad and bread, entree, desert, we're outta there! $6+ for each glass of wine, though, that's a little out there. I can't help loving those greasy bread sticks, but everything else was just so-so . The Lad had some kind of chicken and gnocchi soup which he said was much better at the Salinas Olive Garden than it was here. I like the tiny deserts- overpriced, but I don't need a half gallon of ice cream or whatever after dinner. Perfect size. All in all, I might show up for a special all-you-can-eat deal and I've always thought that the bread sticks and salad might be a perfect lunch, but I've had my Olive Garden fix for this decade.

I really enjoy Olive Garden. Their food is the same as any other location. There's always a wait. Love their salad and fresh breadsticks. Their pastas are delicious. They have tasty appetizers. I really enjoy their seafood alfredo! They're peach tea is reaaaallly good! Love that they put actual peaches in it. Service here is a hit or miss, but that doesn't stop me from coming.

So everyone calls this place "The Dennys of Italian" and I can see where they are coming from but I entirely disagree. The reason people call it this is because it's too much of a good thing, therefore something is wrong with it. 1.) A lot of food 2.) The food tastes great (but I haven't had everything on the menu) 3.) Unlimited soup and salad FREE 4.) The people that work there aren't "nose-in-the-air" 5.) It's INEXPENSIVE! 6.) Nothing beats those little mints they give you before you leave If you get a good waiter (and 8 times out of 10 I do), it's unbeatable and you'll always walk out happy. Don't listen to these foo foo people who would rather pay more, get less, and live by the standards of their peers. Corino's customer service, food, prices are HORRIBLE. Macaroni grill is the only large chain in town that compares and the problem there: not enough food, no soup or salad, and that one measley piece of bread they give you (which tastes good but half the time it's cold and tough). I've been to a lot of italian food chains across the nation and it's honestly one of the better ones. By the way, the chicken parmigiana is to DIE FOR!

Italian food is one of my favorite foods to eat and I love this place! The food is always great and the customer service is always wonderful. I definitely recommend eating here for Italian food, not only it taste great, the prices are also very affordable. #reno

This review is specific to the Never-ending Pasta Bowl for Summer 2010. The two new sauces are Portobello mushroom cream sauce and Three-meat Chianti sauce. The Portabello mushroom cream sauce is awesome. It's basically alfredo with some regular white/bella mushrooms tossed in it, topped with large, sliced portobellos and bread crumbs. The bread crumbs thicken up the sauce nicely, and the mushrooms were flavorful. Olive Garden's alfredo sauce is already a favorite of mine, so this was a no brainer. The Chianti sauce wasn't quite as outstanding. It really just tastes like Italian sausage, which they use abundantly in the sauce. All in all it's still a great deal for $9 - endless pasta with a large variety of sauces and noodles, salad, and breadsticks. My recommendation is to ask for a small bowl for your first serving of pasta - last night they brought me a normal entree sized plate, and I could barely make it through to try something else. My waitress said it's not a big deal to ask for a smaller bowl, so next time I'll do that and try two or three dishes without overeating (too much).

It seems that most of us have similar experiences at this restaurant month after month. Inadequate parking, waits starting at 15 minutes even on a standard weekday evening, staff that always seems to be under a great deal of stress, great appetizers and good food. Our recent visit's highlight was when two servers with food trays passed each other near us, and one of their trays came close enough to my eye to make me flinch, which the server promptly apologized for. I think its clientèle base has simply outgrown this restaurant's capacity to serve its customers effectively.

I love love love the soup, salad and bread sticks but I HATE HATE HATE the service. Either we wait for an hour for something or we have a server that wont leave us alone and is hovering. I know that it is a corporate business but I hope the place gets it shit together soon. Two thumbs up soup. salad and breadsticks. Two huge middle fingers for service.

The food isn't terrible and the service is pretty good...but I just don't get it. We went on a Wednesday night to use a gift card we had got and the lobby was FILLED with waiting people. On a Wednesday night. I've talked to a lot of people and they love Olive Garden, but it is pretty mediocre in my book. I just don't get it. It's not like it's really cheap or anything either. I feel like I can get really good food at about the same price at "real" Italian restaurants in town. I will say our server was very quick on refills and super friendly. My husband got a lasagna and thought it was really good and it was really fresh from the oven. It was burning his mouth until his last bite. However, I feel like lasagna is one of those things you have to be completely incompetent to mess up, so I really can't say that's a huge achievement or anything. My order was the Seafood Portofino. It was really bland. And the noodles were a little overcooked. It was just really mediocre. I hadn't had tiramisu for a while and decided to order theirs. The custard was tasty but the cake part...meh... Again. I don't get it. If I hadn't had the gift card, I would never go to Olive Garden. Just based on the wait. But why is there a wait. I don't get it.

Wow what a let down. In the past I have really liked Olive Garden. I liked their seafood fettuccine. Unfortunately, my husband was not a big fan so it had been awhile. He was doing the Tough Mudder and decided head here the night before. I was really disappointed by the seafood fettuccine, The scallops and shrimp were super overcooked and fishy. The bread sticks were old and reheated. The waitress MIA most of the time but she did split the checks without being asked.

There is always a wait in this restaurant. They do have good food. Love their chicken scampi, breadsticks, and salad. So, why three stars? Here's why. ~Always busy. Why not open another restaurant at a different location? This is the only Olive Garden in the entire Reno/Sparks area. ~I know couple of people used to work there. They told me that their food came in packages, and they just microwave them. Hhhmmm... ~Parking is challenging when they get busy.

You can almost never go wrong with Olive Garden. Pretty standard, reliable food. You know what you're getting into. I always order the eggplant parm and hubby always gets the cheese ravioli along with salad and breadsticks. The waitress was really good, I think her name was Dawn. She was very attentive. When she packed our left overs she dated and labeled the boxes. How thoughtful is that? Definitely a good dining experience.

Service is ok. The waiter comes at the right times, but doesn't blow you away. The food isn't authentic Italian but no one really expects it to be so this isn't a turn off. The price is good, I like the free sample of wine, and it's a good dining experience. I usually enjoy minimal or hole in the wall places that serve great food, but OG is pretty balanced, well lit, etc. and my girlfriend seems to like this kind of atmosphere more. Nothing to complain about except the wait to be seated, which hasn't really been that bad since we're always only two. Last time I had the short ribs in chianti, which tasted a little like dog food, but then I realized this was probably a dish optimized for those with dentures or chewing problems. Meh.

I've always had great service at this Olive Garden. Love the bread sticks...if warm and the food is pretty good. Depending on day and time the lobby does get full. As long as I've been coming here I know it's just because it's a very popular spot. It's also not the waiters fault that they sometimes get people sit at a table and take their time even long after they are done eating. If people would be more conscious about the fact that it's a busy place and they need to keep the tables turning, they wouldn't complain about having to wait at the lobby for a while until a table becomes available. This is when reservations come in handy. I think this Olive Garden is over whelmed with the flow of people and so you will have to be patient. After all...it is the only Olive Garden in the Reno area. Maybe the new one in Sparks might not be as busy. All in all, the food was always on time and perfect temperature. However, if you sit under an AC vent...you will freeze (if you're one of those people that get cold easy) and your food will get cold quickly. I only wish they had better or more parking as that always seems to be an issue. I rarely eat in anymore because of my busy schedule, but rather call in for a takeout and eat at home. That always works perfect for me as I call ahead, pick up my food and take off. No lines to wait in and no freezing tables to sit at. Don't have to drag the family to a waiting line and my family loves and rather have me serve them anytime. :) It's a rare treat as I much rather cook for my family anytime.

Not a fan of this place at all. This place lacks flavor so much and is just another bad chain. I have come to the conclusion people that like this place has not experinced true Italian food! I suggest somewhere like Briscola or Zozos. Much better!

  • Kim N.

Haha, I totally forgotten that I had eaten here. Sometimes when you're bored in Truckee the next biggest place for things to do is unfortunately Reno. Sometimes you get caught up with people with not so ordinary lives and they restart their future in less glamorous ways. I never was able to track that person again, but this was one of the stops I made to find them. Had decent solid meal but still It's Olive Garden. Nothing to write home about!

We came here to dine with a party of nine. We were told that the wait would be thirty minutes but it was actually an hour and a half despite being told every time we asked it was only ten more minutes. To add insult to injury, they were giving the available tables to bigger parties intentionally, and no... they did not have previous reservations

Got a call to meet my friend for dinner. He was running late and I was close so I decided to go in and get a table. 1. Host not friendly. Did not even say good evening. Table for 2? NO! there will be 3 of us. She told me 15 min.... On a Wednesday.... There was like 3 ppl ahead of me. ok. My friend arrived and I told him that I was sitting there for 15 min and they told me 15 min. 2. After noticing ppl getting seated that came in after me and had more ppl I got up and went to the host stand to look at the books an noticed 3 tables had been seated over us. The manager noticed that I was looking and came over and said, "I'm sorry, I'm looking for a table that we can put a highchair at." Ummmm well any table can have a highchair.... Ok whatever. We got sat after another 5 min. 3. Server came over and I placed my daughters order first. She came back with the drinks and said, " DO YOU WANT ANY SALAD AND BREAD STICKS?" well yeah duh..... So we ordered our meal. 4. My daughters meal came out at the same time as ours. Did she forget that I placed that 10+ min before our meal was placed. 5. My meal was very bland no flavor or anything. 6. The scallops were so rubbery that my daughter could not even chew them. Not a very pleasant night. Server did not even come and give us our bill. The manager did and was telling us if we filled out the survey we would get 4$ off our next meal. No Thanks. I was very saddened with how this place is going down hill. Host was very rude when I came in called my Daughter a Boy and that is wrong in my book who cares if she has a blue sweater on. Anyways THIS PLACE SUCKED FOR ME THIS TIME.

came in on a a Wednesday night. Got handed a pager and told there would be a ten minute wait. While waiting I counted 11 empty tables. Seems they are short on staff and had a section closed. Not very impressed with that. Food was OK but will not be going back.

my friend & I had their "eat all you can" pasta & sauce offerings one night, past dinner time.....you're given the option to choose from a list of different pasta & sauces; i enjoyed their version of meat sauce & spaghetti (very good, & filling)....i had 3 servings of pasta & sauces, which I started actually by having their version of a fresh mixed-vegetable salad w/olive oil-based dressing...i like to say as well that i enjoyed their bread (being a bread person that I am now) that comes with all these offerings......also notable is their good & fast service!

What can you say about Olive Garden that hasn't been said in 50 other reviews in 50 other cities? Either you like it or you hate it. My sister loves it, so we went here for lunch. Decent food, reasonably priced, and delivered to the table hot from the kitchen. My favorite thing is that you can get a plate of pepperoncinis if you ask - love those peppers!

As a teenager this was my fav restaurant for special occasions and always was a treat to go there. Now I am like eh....not so much. I can find better food somewhere else without the whole waiting for an hour and I can even master the Zuppa Toscana soup myself SO why go there anymore. But I must admit I still love the bread sticks and salad. But like Catherine S. I am always wondering why they have yet to open another one to slow down the traffic in this one. I bet if they open another they will close this one, like they did with the Red Lobster. :(

I love Italian food. This place is pretty good but not as good as Macaroni and Grill. I say this because they're service is kinda slow even if they aren't busy. The other thing is that, a while back I went there my family and I ate in this room they put us in, and we were right below the air conditioning and somehow every 10-15 min. we would get a raft of sewage smell. I don't know if it was just the people we were by or if it was one of my family members, but I could tell it smelt like raw sewage, not gas. I hope they have already fixed the problem but other than that the food is great and their bread sticks are wonderful(better than Macaroni and Grill's).

I live in the Bay Area and was visting Reno on vacation with my fiance and we decided to stop here because I love their food..I swear to god this was the best food we have EVER had at any Olive Garden. I had the soup/salad and breadsticks along with the Calamari and my fiance had their all you can eat pasta for only $8.95(although he never ate more then that one sevring)..It was honestly so yummy and it makes me sad because the olive garden around this area suck ass..However, the only down side is the parking..it was RIDICULOUS!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
