Excellent diner food after a long morning in Death Valley. Burger was the best and the club sandwich was good. Lemonade great. Yum yum!

So I'm a "regular" here by Yelp rankings... But while the people are great, place is very family oriented, family owned.... BUT, why can't the cooks cook an egg properly??? And why can't the food be hot????? It's a great place but I'm just about over it......
(1)Ana J.
The missing stars are due to the service. Food was very tasty however the service was less then hospitable. Let's just say that I'm apparently not the correct race to receive 5 star service. The taller waitress could really use a more pleasant personality.
(3)Philippe G.
Very good time with our family 10 people. Good food. Great welcome. Feel free to stop and have a breakfast or lunch or dinner in this typical American restaurant
(5)Michael D.
Best place to eat in Pahrump,.,....... Check out there other restaurant "sugars shack". They are the second best place in Pahrump to eat
(5)Chuck M.
The Salisbury steak was too spicy and the spaghetti and meatballs was watery and the meatballs were burnt the service was ok next will go to dennys or andreas if it is Friday or sat so I showed the waitress what I wrote she told the owner and he comped our entire meal and told us that he was really sorry and proceeded to the kitchen I presume to make corrections so now I will go back and give it another try changed from one to two stars
(2)Vilma D.
An oasis in the middle of the desert. Stepping in the restaurant was like stepping back in time. The food portions are huge. The wait staff, Nicolas, was great and very helpful. Will definitely visit this place again the next time I'm in Pahrump.
(5)Brian P.
I ate here with the locals on one of my recent trips to Death Valley. I'll be honest.. I am not from Nevada and this was the first time seeing folks with guns sitting next me at dinner and i felt pretty uneasy about it. Food was ok. I ordered a sausage and chicken Jambalaya special that was pretty lousy. On the other hand, the black eyed pea soup I also got was fantastic. Peach cobbler desert was so so. My friend got the famous chicken fried steak. The chicken was fair but not a big fan of the gravy. Mashed potatoes were great. The girls waiting tables were super friendly to us outsiders. This was really nice as most of the other diners were on a first name basis with everyone working.
(3)Sarah B.
In recent months I have decided to give mom's another chance. I am so glad I did, service has been excellent and food has been great. I haven't ordered anything bad, but I would definitely recommend ordering breakfast (the chicken fried steak with home fries is to do die for). I will definitely be coming back and hope to be a regular.
(5)Cindy M.
This was a very nice restaurant. I was surprised to see how pretty, clean, and eye catching it was. Food was presented nicely With thought to detail. The taste was delicious and I noticed some high quality ingredients. I was very happy and plan to return soon.
(5)Shelbi R.
Best chicken fried steak ever tasted. Excellent service. The waitresses recognize you after going there 3 nights in a row. Close by to Saddle West and large amount of food after a long day at Frontsight. Amazing restaurant and can't wait to go again.
(5)Rose G.
I went here on my way out of Vegas, on the way to the Grand Canyon. I was tired and needed some good food and a friendly atmosphere. That's exactly what I got. This place is simple and delicious. Very well cared for and great atmosphere. The staff are friendly and the decor definitely adds something. I would recommend this place of you are on the road and want a little indulgence.
(4)Scott S.
Looks like a place the locals go. Food was pretty good and is like an old fashioned diner. I got a bacon cheese burger.
(4)Lee P.
Consistently good for breakfast or dinner. This is where the locals go. Warm and welcoming, laid back. Just what a roadhouse/diner should be. Check out the decor in the men's room - gear head heaven! Firearm friendly, so Frontsight folks are welcome. The owners adult son (and also exec chef) told me they were successful chefs in Vegas and escaped to Pahrump for the better lifestyle and opened the restaurant. Based upon the steady traffic, I'd say they're successful. The Texas Benedict for breakfast is a must have. Check the photos. It's redneck haute cuisine at its finest. For dinner, go straight to the chicken fried steak with the yummy gravy. And there's always room for a slice of the daily home made pies. Check the whiteboard for the flavors of the day. I really look forward to Mom's on my regular visits to Pahrump.
(4)Steve R.
Food is pretty good, but don't expect to be treated like a customer. ..no follow up...no refills no interest
(3)livestartled w.
Consistently good and service always friendly and good. We like: Club sandwich Grilled ham Pancakes Chicken fried steak Texas Benedict Sausage
(5)Kellee K.
Best choice in Pahrump. Classic comfort foods like mom would make. I am seriously addicted to their patty melt. I just wish they were open later, served soup on the weekend and offered lemon meringue pie weekends.
(4)Mike S.
I was in town for a 4-day class at Front Sight this week, and ate here twice for dinner. The first time, I had the Mom-Strosity burger. Oh my gosh, it was big, messy, and delicious. It came with fries, but after devouring the burger, I was too full to eat the fries. The second time, I had the chicken fried steak. I loved it. The gravy was smothering the steak and mashed potatoes. The wait staff was friendly and jovial. Every customer was treated was greeted with a friendly smile and welcomed in, whether they were open carrying a sidearm or not. If I lived in Pahrump, this would be a regular place for me.
(4)Karin W.
Consistently good service and food make Mom's a regular dining spot for my family. We have tried a bit of everything on the menu and it's all been fabulous. Mom, Brett, Michelle, and the rest of the staff are always friendly and inviting. They make you feel like you truly are walking into your mom's kitchen!
(5)Dale M.
Great diner!! Food is very good. Menu is classic diner (don't miss the pie). Servings are large, prices very inexpensive, service is wonderful.
(5)Ken V.
Great place for breakfast. Clean and neat. Enjoyed all the memorabilia. Food was hot and fresh. Much better than any casino.
(4)Tira A.
Wonderful Chicken Fried steak! Very friendly service and cute place. It was recommended by the locals, and I was not sorry we went. Every time we come out to the races we will eat here from now on.
(5)Faith W.
After a trip to death valley and a nights stay we where looking for a good place to eat for a morning breakfast as we started our way back to Las Vegas. With the help of yelp I discovered Mom's Diner. Being Easter and a Sunday I called and to my surprise they where opened. Once we pulled into the parking lot, we knew this place was a locals favorite. We walked in to a full place but there was a open table, which was good as we were Hungry. I watched as our waitress interacted with the locals, and briefly thought how it would be nice to live in a small community like Pahrump. I ordered the kitchen sink omelet, and my husband ordered the chicken fried steak. We both where extremely pleased. Overall it was a great place, with friendly faces and your grandmother's home cooked meal. My husband bought their Tshirt to wear in Vegas because he wouldn't mind being their walking billboard. He thought you stole his Mama and wanted to bring her home.
(5)Jackie H.
3 of us for lunch and 2 of us had the chicken fried steak and eggs and it was wonderful. Other had chicken fried dinner. The only problem was that I ordered burnt sour dough and didn't get it until I was half way through with my breakfast.
(4)Elijah S.
I've been here 3 times. I've loved everything I've tried. Nice portions, cool staff.
(5)Dan W.
This is a great place to get something to eat. The service is good and the food is good. We have only been there a couple times but it's worth a visit if you in town.
(5)Russell C.
My brother had a burger and said it was great. I had a meat patty with mashed potatoes & gravy. Real mashed potatoes complete with lumps. Who makes their own mashed potatoes anymore? The food was excellent, the service was good, and the prices were very reasonable. No more staying in Vegas when going to FrontSight for us. The foods better in Pahrumph!
(5)Larry V.
Ate breakfast here this am...first time at this place. Generally, while the food was tasty...the prices were not. I had hash and eggs for $8.00 and the wife had a Patty Melt w/Fries for $7.99. They charged me .50 for a little Country Gravy and the coffee was not cheap. The service was just ok as some of the servers were smiling and friendly and others were not. We probably will not be back as the food and service is not good enough to warrant the prices. Lots of other places around are just as good.
(3)David M.
Everytime, I'm at Frontsight I make sure to eat hear at least once. The service is great. And once they start recognizing you they will even go out of their way to make a run to their other store and get you a slice of Apple pie across town. Yes, they did that for me! Best recommendation is their Country Fried Steak......make sure you come hungry.
(5)Ed M.
great service, great price, and the food is really good. I almost didn't go there because its in a retail parking lot and off the beaten path but if you pass them up because of that your missing out on a good home style cooked meal. It has a diner feel and décor to it and the owner is at the register and young employees working the tables. Highly recommend it if your looking for a good meal and a very reasonable price.
(4)B.b. Deacon Synn B.
The best burger my son and I have eaten, almost makes me want to move out here just so I can always eat there.
(5)Lani R.
Great food awesome service and cool decor ... went to the wine stomp and stopped here for dinner. Its a definate place to go to in Pahrump
(4)Rock G.
Mom's is FANTASTIC! Very friendly, good, fast, polite service. The location is very clean and warm (in a welcoming way). The Chicken Fried Steak is amazing. Can't seem to try other items on the menu. Every time I pull into the parking lot I salivate thinking about the tender, thin pounded steak that is lightly and perfectly breaded. Then fried to a beautiful golden color. With a healthy ladle of country gravy. Damn.... Now I'm hungry. This is home style food at it's best. Any and every time I'm in Pahrump, Mom's is a must visit.... Com' on. Who doesn't want to visit their Mom when in town?
(5)Shaun B.
Ate here twice on a recent visit. Breakfast both times. Overall not bad. Cool stuff all over the wall. Hot good food. I always tell the waitress to surprise me when they ask what kind of toast I want. One had a imagination and brought sourdough. The other plain white toast. Next visit we will probably go back , but if I was just driving through idk it would be worth the time.
(4)Laurie D.
Read the reviews what a disappointment food was cold and the high school kids working the floor were not into refilling drinks at all.. Wont be back.. And now I will double check the reviews with other sites
(3)Allison P.
Food is ok. Had a very strange experience. We had just moved here and we're trying all the places close to home. The food and service was good, but all the very old and scruffy looking locals literally turned around in there seats to look at us. We had on t-shirts and shorts which seemed upscale to all the flannel. Someone at about three of the tables around us literally had to readjust their chairs and their body in the booth to turn and face us. They ate their entire meal turned around in their seats to watch us! CREEPY!!! I thought I was in a Twighlight Zone episode!
(2)Kathleen K.
Slam dunk burger is a slam dunk French dip -meat was very dry. Excellent fries and customer service If you are in parumph it is the place to go
(5)David G.
Sorry, Mom, but I don't like anything about your diner. There's a Panda Express across the street that would have been a much better choice. I grant you, your place is clean and looks like a standard diner, but you overdid the decor. Some of it (antique toy cars) is interesting but most of it is just junk, and there is far too much of it. It takes away the homey ambiance that is a diner's stock and trade. We had dinner. Prices were average. Food was not good. The hamburger featured a burnt bun, a burnt meat patty, and nothing interesting. The chili was from a can -- if you made this yourself you did a really poor job. Nothing was fresh. Nothing was tasty.
(2)Jennifer C.
the food is okay. However if you want a dinner dive, this place is great place.
(3)Jeff S.
Excellent! I can't recall the title, but I had the 1/2 lb burger with bacon and grilled onions. I don't know what they do to the cheese on that burger, but it was amazing. One of the best burgers I've had, ever. Service was attentive and friendly. Prices are very good. I'll be back!
(5)John R.
The food is so so. Not a welcoming smile to be seen. Service made you feel as if you were putting them out of their way. Will avoid in the future. Wanted to like the place but can't after 4 or 5 chances I have given them.
(2)Norma M.
Mom's was recommended by the folks at FrontSight AND it had great Yelp reviews so we tried it our first night in town. We were NOT disappointed. The nicest staff, the most delicious home-cooking and FANTASTIC pie!! You can't go wrong here.
(5)Joseph D.
I had the corned beef and hash with home fries and eggs over hard, the food is good and not too pricey. I tried the wife's chicken fried steak which was ok. I liked my meal and the home fries are the hi light here. I'd return next time I'm in Pahrump.
(4)Steven B.
So I'm in Pahrump seeing my mom who unfortunately has chosen this hell hole for retirement and she suggested we eat at Mom's....."for some real home cookin"! Now I'm already under the impression that there isn't anything redeeming about Pahrump but its about making her happy so I said why not. Firsr thing..."Maltshop Memories" on the stereo but no shakes on the menu....boo! Had the Chili Burger... wasn't bad but wasn't special in any way. Would go out of business in Vegas in a few months....saved me from Denny's though which is a positive...
(3)Riley H.
Great place! Fantastic food for the (fantastic) prices, incredibly friendly staff, and amazing atmosphere. :-) Definitely a repeat and one on top of the list! If Faith is your waitress, you'll be blessed!!!
(5)Steve K.
I'm in Pahrump twice a year. On this trip I stumbled upon Mom's Diner, great place & the staff is on it from the moment you walk in. I ordered the chicken fried steak & it was awesome. Mom's will definitely be one of the regular stops from.
(4)NevadaBackroad S.
Not a big fan of casinos, their food or chains. This is the only place we will consider for breakfast when in the area. Good food and service, nice decor!
(4)Jed N.
Locals diner near DMV office in Pahrump serving decent fare. About what you'd expect for a town this size. Quick service but smaller portions than expected for the price. Seat yourself/pay at the counter type place.
(3)Erin J.
Yummy, friendly, local joint where waitresses seemed to know 75% of the customers.
(5)J S.
In town for front sight training. I had the pork cutlet, I forgot to ask for gravy on the side, (I like to put on my own amount of gravy because restaurants always put too much, they did.). The pork was thin and huge, I like it thin. The gravy was good, mashed taters wuz too, oops slipped into down home dialect. The mixed vegetables "looked tired" but tasted good. Service was quick and pleasant. Update, came back on 16 Sep 2015, the Chicken Fried steak is awesome (get gravy on the side so YOU can regulate the amount).
(5)Regina L.
Great family owned local business. Ate here for every breakfast when visiting Pahrump. Very friendly service and cheap drinks. Loved the Sweet Tea!
(5)Tanya S.
So if you take your Mom, her kitchen, home cooked yummy food and roll in into a restaurant and your Mom then charges you for dinner you would be a Mom's family diner in Puhrump. We stopped in there for a bite when out visiting my sister and was greeted with big smiles and fast service. You can tell this is a locals favorite since many tables were filled with people that seemed to know each other, or were just drinking coffee. I ordered the chicken and avacado sandwich which was decent. I was a little disappointed that the avacado was not slices but just scooped on guacamole. Boo. Still, not too bad. Others at the table had the liver and onions (delishish if you like that stuff), chicken finger (awesome!) and a breakfast plater (Yum). If we were not stuffed we would have got some desert. I love places that hand write the desert of the day on the wall (this place). Bumbleberry pie.....sounds so friendly! Just the thing to hit the spot....thanks Mom!
(4)Chris C.
Nice home style diner with friendly service and great pie! Typical diner fare, excellent and hearty breakfasts. The ham steak is larger than the plate. Hard to find but you'll be glad you did.
(4)JANET L.
Had a late breakfast here this morning, looking forward to a good, old fashioned home-style meal. What a disappointment. I asked if the corned beef hash was homemade or out of a can, and was told "all our food is made here", so I went ahead and ordered it. It was positively canned hash. My husbands chicken fried stake looked like a breaded hamburger, and he said it was "so-so". I ordered a fruit cup that was inedible and sent it back. The cubed cantaloupe, honeydew and pineapple were slimy, slightly brown on the edges and mushy! The waitress kindly deducted this from the bill. Definitely not going back. The only positive: the friendly young woman (Rachel) who seated us - she was friendly and welcoming .
(1)Leonardo B.
Went in with my son for breakfast. Place was busy, I understood the wait. When a server came by she was grumpy and brisk. I ordered Eggs Benedict but no ham rather a "grilled" piece of chicken instead, upcharge was understood. 35mins later my son's smile face pancake arrived cold and my chicken egg benedict was wrong. I got flat topped chicken that got fried up with that butter margarine stuff. I asked if the server knew what grilled ment. She confirmed and implied that I was wrong because it was grilled. I rephrased to say Char Broiled, to which my reply was "oh no we dont have a grill"... Needless to say enjoy the $22 bucks... Overpaid for something I did not even get. Disappointed.
(1)John R.
Quality folks here that not only cook good food, but they believe that you should treat people the way you would like to be treated! Excellent food at reasonable prices. A local favorite.
(5)MK B.
The Eggs Benedict were OK.
(2)Cheryl A.
I love the atmosphere, and the food is very good, My absolute favorite is their french dip...yum!
(5)Michael M.
Nice place with all kinds of cool memorabilia on the walls. Food was actually pretty darn good. Service was fast, but a little too fast; We felt a little rushed. Would go back.
(3)Savannah R.
WOW! Finally a good breakfast meal in Pahrump! Food was tasty, served steaming hot, and service was fast. The wait staff was super nice and didn't rush us out when we were done eating and the line to dine was building outside. We will definitely be back.
(5)Kristi R.
Hand made burger patties, made from scratch pies, and inventive specials. It's a diner so you expect this to be typical diner food, but instead, Moms goes the extra step. The burgers are soooo flavorful, and the pies are some of the best I've ever had- including my own mom's pies (sorry Mom!!). A great little place to eat.
(4)Charlotte H.
This is my favorite in Pahrump. If you love Clam Chowder and fish, go in on Friday night. ALWAYS a delicious creamy Clam Chowder and my favorite is when they have Orange Roughy on special - Expertly Parmesan Crusted Orange Roughy with and exceptional cream sauce. I have had this 3 times and it is always delicious. As someone who does not, as a rule like pork loin, (don't care for white meat) they have a breaded fried pork loin sandwich that I would walk 100 miles for. bottom-line.................... D E L I C I O U S
(5)Fabiana H.
I stopped at this place on my way to Death Valley. Really good food, friendly service. I had eggs Benedict and it was pretty good. My bf had the skillet and it was delicious! The bread pudding was super tasty. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the mood for some comfort food!
(5)Brandi C.
man! what a great place, tucked around on a side street. great food, great service. parking was super. i found pahrump to have horribe service all over, hotel, resturaunts. but not this place saved our whole trip to have super good food and fast friendly service. bring yer appetite big portions and super deserts! a must go! even the locals packed the place. thanks moms!
(5)Michael B.
I'm visiting from Az my Aunt and uncle recommended there food it is amazing a must go if in the area..
(5)Bre S.
Great service. I went in with my family. .. they brought out food early for our restless kids and the portions and quality were a great value
(5)C K.
Been here several times and it's been a hit or miss for me. Mainly because of service...depends on who you get I guess. The breakfasts are good and generally what I order. A lot of the other items are over priced for the quality you get.
(3)Mike J.
Very friendly waitress and fast service. The place has tons of interesting items on the walls and gives you plenty of "Check that out" reactions. I have only been there for breakfast so far but will be adding to this review as soon as I make it there for lunch and dinner. I was so pleasantly surprised by the menu items and ease of mix and matching for a truly amazing breakfast. I had the kitchen sink omelet with corned beef hash and it was simply to die for, we hardly had time to look around and discuss all the cool stuff on the walls before our food arrived. By far our favorite breakfast place in Pahrump.
(5)Mike A.
I really like this place - My friends and I do quite a bit of motorcycle riding in Death Valley and we like to stop here either for breakfast on the way in or lunch on the way out. It's so nice to have a family owned restaurant that serves good food at a really reasonable price. The owner is usually at the register when we're there and the staff does a great job. Finally a nice, clean, general restaurant that serves great food that isn't located in a smoke-filled casino.
(4)Sudschick C.
Found the food to be mildly mediocre. Atmosphere was 'old'. The guy with the tattoos was rude to a customer, and the lady who stands around by the door reminds me of the gestapo. I guess it was ok for small town dining, but not where I want to eat. I can find better food almost anywhere.
(1)Donna T.
Wonderful little country diner in Pahrump! Definitely glad we decided to eat here on our road trip. We ate breakfast, and it was wonderful! As was the coffee!! Will definitely go back if we are in the neighborhood again.
(4)Michelle S.
Perfect down home hospitality..loved it..:)
(5)David C.
It's said there's no place like home and homecooking is at Mom's Diner. I was in Pahrump and decided to try a local favorite. The Liver and Onions sold me, it had been a long time since I had liver and onions that I questioned getting them, as I was afraid it would not be to my liking. I ate all of my portion of liver and onions, the mashed potatoes and gravy was just an added "cherry" to the plate. Their homemade deserts are exquisite, specially the breadpudding, finger licking good. I'll be back for the food and magnificent staff.
(4)Kimberly C.
Food was 3 stars, service was 4-5 stars. The waitstaff was very friendly. I had the breakfast skillet with sausage. It was good, but nothing special. It was a welcome stop on the way to Death Valley!
(4)Ali O.
Interesting place with okay food and pretty fast service. I had a BLT - made with iceberg lettuce, fatty bacon and white bread. The potato salad was good. Hubs had pot roast, that came with what looked like frozen mixed veggies that had been steamed or boiled. The lemonade and raspberry tea were made from powdered mixes. Seems to me a place named Mom's would have homemade versions of those two things.
(3)Jeffry P.
The short rib special was excellent and the service was very friendly.
(5)Karen B.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Good service, good food and good value. Would totally eat here again.
(4)Enrica D.
Good food in a Very nice place
(4)Greg R.
I was in town for a couple of days, so I asked around about where one could get a good meal in Pahrump. Everyone's first answer was Symphony -- no surprise. Everyone's second answer was Mom's Diner. My wife ordered the Cobb salad and I ordered the Blue [sic] Cheese Burger. The Cobb salad was fresh and had all the ingredients it should have had. Don't smirk -- some don't. The burger was fresh and delicious. Fries were good, too. Had the apple pie and the brownie for dessert. Each was very nice. The apple pie tasted as though it had been made with really tart apples, with just enough sugar added to balance it out. The brownie was a good size, and was wonderfully chewy. It probably would have been fine without the frosting and nuts, but it was that much better because of them. The decor seemed a bit hectic, but the colors are bright and simple, and everything seemed clean and dust-free, which must represent a lot of work for someone, given all the stuff on the walls. Given the almost uniformly grim state of dining out in Pahrump, Mom's Diner is a wonderful resource.
(4)dora f.
wow. chicken fried steak is amazing! so is the peach cobbler, with ice cream. friendly service, great food, low prices. 4 of us came here one night (incl 2 of us who grew up in texas, so their chicken fried steak really is good!), loved it, and then brought back 8 more of our friends 2 nights later.
(5)Benda H.
Feels like home, love it here. We trek out to Pahrump a few times each year and each time we try to eat at Mom's a few times. Always delicious food, the welcome is warm and genuine, clean, homey, can't be beat. Don't miss the daily specials, especially if it's the pot roast. And the desserts, homemade by Mom herself, are incredible. Yummm! What a gem.
(5)David C.
Worst coffee I've had in a long time! Their Texas Benedict was surprisingly good. French Toast got a "D" from my spouse. Service was just average. There are not many choices in Parumph.
(3)Paul R.
Terrible service and even worse food! Save yourself the heartache (and heartburn) and go somewhere else.
