We were in town for a pretty big horse race a few weeks ago. We found this place the first night we were there and went back 2 or 3 times. We went back for 2 reasons...the bartender and the ICE COLD BEER! If I owned my own business I'd steal this guy away...super fun, edgy attitude, seemed to like what he was doing...kept an eye on everything even though he got busy!! Not to mention his awesome drinks and the ICE COLD BEER ...did I already say that?!? Plus, even though it was mostly locals, he always made us feel like a part of the party...the locals were cool too! Lots of TVs everywhere, accompanied by lots of entertaining local opinions! The food was good...lots of choices and everything we ate we'd order again!! It's laid back, doesn't pretend to be anything other than just a cool place to hang out...we will visit the town and def this place again...come hell or high water!

Chicken fried steak not good at all. Bread had a funny taste. Hope i don't get sick. Bad service. It has a good dive bar feel with locales and tourist.

One of the worst places I've ever experienced. Bouncers are very rude. I couldn't believe that they told me not to use the restroom and to urinate outside. WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW! Of course the whole Ruidoso police force is outside waiting to catch someone just even looking at them wrong. This town is intimidated because if the bike rally. Me and my family made the trip from San Antonio Texas to enjoy this bike rally and this place has really ruined the moral. Unfortunately we had to ask about three different waitress to order some food. Some would lie and say the kitchen is closed. Really sad that loyal bikers like us are bringing money to this town and we get treated this way all because of one business. I don't recommend this place EVER! To make it worse the beer is hot!!!

This place is disgusting and the epitome of a hole in the wall. The staff was ok but the waitress had her purse on the whole time, guess waiting to make a mad dash for the door.

During motorcycle events it becomes a Biker Bar with riot squad outside. Usually just a dive bar. Drunk Indians cowboys texans and rednecks. Stir gently and run!

Slow service, but the people were very nice. Burgers were good, fresh cut fries were great, but the homemade potato chips were amazing!!!

Stopped in for a drink, after having some beers at Dreamcatcher. Was staying in Ruidoso for the night and was looking for some places to go to. Ughhhh wish I never had set foot in there. Its not that I do not like dive bars, some of my favorite bars are rather divey. This place just seemed a more than a bit sketchy. Within a few minutes of sitting at the bar, a nearby patron asks me if I have any pot. And then my Lone Star bottled beer was 4.25! For freaking Lone Star. The other patrons looked rather skeezy too. Oh well, live and learn. I think the only redeeming quality I found was that they have a decent selection of beers on tap. But then so does Dreamcatcher, so thats where I will go next time.

Was in ruidoso for New Years and thought we'd try quarters, went in around 8pm, staff was ok but not overwhelming with joy to be quite honest, drink prices were ok and the place seems like it has potential but I never felt really comfortable, the music really sucked I mean the Dj played a country song then a rap song then a heavy metal song and so on just no consistency in the music, there's a stage in the back which I'm guessing isn't used much because there was a pile of trash in the corner which kept on getting bigger as waitresses just tossed boxes and whatnot, I mean seriously? A pile of trash on the stage? I left around 10 pm after just having a few drinks and (like many people writing reviews did) went across the street to W.P.S which turned out to be a very good decision. I wish the owners of quarters could see the consistency in the bad reviews here about they're bar so they could resolve some issues because the property has potential if it was managed correctly

[3/11/13] I don't know why we haven't been here. I'm not really a snob, but I thought it was mostly for a younger crowd or bikers (of which I'm neither). But after a disastrous experience at another restaurant in town (see review for Grace O'Malley's) we were still thirsty AND hungry! We walked in and sat down and almost immediately were greeted by our waitress. She took our beer order. We mentioned nachos. She asked, "loaded?" We said yes and off she went. She was back within 6 minutes (not kidding!) with a plate piled high. We told her of our situation and she said, "yea, we get that a lot." What?? Anyway, while I was away from the table the manager brought us salsa ("this was just made by our Chinese chef." Double what??) But it was delicious and added the "just-right" touch to our above-average nachos. And we met new friends from Houston! This place is conducive for that. Needless to say we will frequent Quarters when we are back in Ruidoso. Don't be like me and prejudge an establishment--you will miss a true diamond in the rough!

My BF and I went in to get something simple and not Mexican to eat because we were just walking around midtown. We sat down and waited about 5 minutes before we were approached by a waitress. She quickly brought us our two cherry Dr. P's and took our orders. The seating area was cold so we kept out coats on while numerous others came in voicing that feeling and wanting to be seated in the warmest spots. My hamburger steak with brown gravy, mushrooms and onions was great but I wish it had been medium. That might have meant that it would have probably tasted cold by the time I got to eat it. The sour cream on my potato chilled the potato so much that it tasted cold. His Chipotle burger had way too much hot seasoning on it that did not meld with either the cheese or the meat. The waitress was friendly enough and families with young children came in after we had begun to eat. so this place must be conducive to a wide scope of people. Yeah--at least we didn't have to settle for either Mexican or Italian food!!!

Fun place to take your girl. Honestly the only "club" in town.

Quarters is the non-cowboy bar in Midtown Ruidoso. We were here during th Blues Festival and there were bikers and hippies in abundance, as if some weird cosmic truce had been called between the two factions. Actually, it can't be a truce, per se, since bikers always kick hippie ass and not the other way around, so basically it was bikers not kicking hippies all around the bar. There's a large dance floor with a DJ and a space for a live band to play as well. You can get your groove on here to anything from Mexican music to hip hop. The bar area is fairly large, with enough space to shoulder up to get a drink. Bar staff is fairly friendly and efficient, and they really seem to appreciate any tips you give them. Beyond that, there's a large area for tables that are almost always 1/2 empty unless there's a ridiculous mass of people in the bar (never seen it.).

Hmm during the day time, this is the place to be. At night, I am not so sure. We came back at 2200 to see what the night life was like in the bar. After waiting out side for about 45 minutes we finally got inside. After being inside for less than 5 minutes we left to go to WPS across the street! (WIN PLACE SHOW)

Prices go way up after 8 or 9 and god dang it, that irritates me. I'm basically a volunteer, Quarters, not one of those rich old people spending the weekend in their vacation home. I believe I'll just head over to WPS, drink some super cheap alcohol and two-step with friendly ol' Texans all night.

I came here the day after Xmas with my bf and we had a blast. We played a round of pool that was a little steep in price but the staff was great, the band playing was awesome and the food was delicious! They also have darts and fooseball.
